Goyal in July 2008. It provides information on home
delivery, dine-out, cafés and nightlife. They cover all

November 2010 Foodiebay.com name changed to
Zomato.com to avoid confusion with ebay.com. Till

Spas. It operates as an online marketplace, offering products
from more than 50,000 merchants or brands.
Snapdeal earns its revenues by buying goods in wholesale
for lesser price and selling them online in retail. It makes
money by letting other people sell their products through
advertisements. These advertisements could drive them profit
besides of the percentage they obtain from the sellers or

8. Meritnation is an educational website launched by Pavan Chauhan, an
alumnus of IIM Bangalore in 2007. It gives guidance in studies and also
clears the concepts. The areas where the schools are of lower standard
and tutors can't be afforded, meritnation has proven to be a boon for the
students. It has many interesting features like Ask and Answer, Friends
Zone, Brain Teasers etc. It provides multimedia tutorials, interactive
exercises, assessment tools and exam help for school children and serves
across seven countries (India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait,
Qatar, Bahrain). Meritnation has raised INR 30 crore from Info Edge,
which runs the job search engine site Naukri.com. It also runs

11. JustDial is an Indian company providing local search
services over the Phone, Web, Mobile and SMS founded by
V.V.S. Mani. Users are required to call a common number
and simply tell the human operator what service they are
looking for. Texts and email alerts are then sent to users
listing the best options around them.
Justdial makes money by charging the Company cone-time
registration fee of INR 5,000 and an annual fee of INR 1,000
from the reseller. The registration fee is recognized when the
contract with the reseller is finalized and the annual fee is

working. They provide a variety of services and
cater to a large number of end users. They also face
