*With the holiday season approaching, Vistaprint wanted to get a sense for how micro businesses intended on marketing in the upcoming months. The majority have already started implementing marketing plans specific to the holiday season. We examined time, money, methods and expectations of their efforts, as well as campaign specific questions. The survey was completed by over 600 true micro businesses (1-10 employees) over a one week span. While customers of Vistaprint, respondents weren’t incentivized in any way to take the survey. Vistaprint’s customer base is 90% micro businesses, 60% that run their business out of their homes. The majority have an annual marketing spend of $500 and on average less than 60 customers

The nursing profession is faced with increasingly complex health care issues driven by technological & medical advancements, an ageing population, increased numbers of people living with chronic disease and increased costs of health care services. Collaboration is a substantive idea repeatedly discussed in health care circles. Though the benefits are well validated, collaboration is seldom practiced.

Pros and cons of mandatory continuing nursing education Karen DeFilippis, Idalmis Espinosa Lasharia Graham, Ijeoma Igbokwe Karan Kortlander, Jessica McGillen October 01, 2017 objectives Discuss the pros and cons of continuing education in nursing in the following areas: Impact on competency. Impact on knowledge and attitudes. Relationship to professional certification. Relationship to ANA Scope and Standards of Practice. Relationship to ANA Code of Ethics. Impact on competency Pros: Cons: Increased personal knowledge Time Increased use of EBP treatments Cost Improved patient outcomes Increased confidence Developing and maintaining skills Professional Networking “Currently in many states, a nurse is determined to be competent when initially licensed and thereafter unless proven otherwise. Yet many believe this is not enough and are exploring other approaches to assure continuing competence in today’s environment where technology and practice are continually changing, new health care systems are evolving and consumers are pressing for providers who are competent” (Whittaker, Carson, & Smolenski, 2000). “The ultimate outcomes of continuing nursing education (CNE) activities are to improve the professional practice of nursing and thereby the care that is provided by registered nurses to patients” (American Nurses Credentialing Center’, 2014) Effective workplace learning, based on current evidence, appears to show potential to prevent errors, support health professional reflection on practice and performance, foster ongoing professional development, and sustain improved individual and organization performance outcomes. Cost- “Continuing education can be costly. For instance, it is costly to pay employees to attend a nursing lecture or conference and to be away from the patients’ bedside. Additionally, purchasing videos or subscribing to magazines does require an associated payment. Lastly, implementing a change is costly it requires training and often new equipment. Without question, cost is a confounding variable” (Ward, 2013) Time- This can be time away from work and family. For the employer ‘implementing a change in practice does require time, as does completing continuing education credit hours. This could mean time away from the patient which, in most instances, is frowned upon” (Ward, 2013) 3 Pros of higher education in nursing Enhance patients’ outcome. Reduces medication errors. Update with new trends. Increased knowledge on technology use. Treatment evaluation and recovery. Enhance collaboration and networking. Widens employment opportunities for nurses (University of Saint Mary,2017). Higher nursing education prepares nurses to make a difference in delivering safe and effective care to patients, nurses gain the skills needed to safely administer medication while eliminating or reducing medication errors, monitoring and assessing the patien.

I need a response to the following peers: PEER 1 . My name is ---------- I have been practicing nursing for many years. What I have come to recognize through experience is that what people or even literature consider to be a preserve for advanced practice is essentially what is demanded in everyday nursing practice to offer comprehensive and quality care. This demand has been accelerated by the changing dynamics and demands in health care include an increase in population that also cause increase in primary and other healthcare services, inefficient healthcare, rise of chronic conditions, high costs of care, knowledgeable population demanding better care, and prolonged lifespan that is creating a high population of aged people with chronic ailments (Hillb & Parkera, 2017). To address the emerging issues, nurses must have the ability to tackle complex cases through complex decision-making spanning across the many system levels from clinical to organizational to political level, serve in leadership and consultancy capacity, support innovation and promote evidence-based practice. They should also be able to collaborate with other healthcare professions and to navigate the intricacies of the current healthcare system to offer the best care possible. These are the roles of an advanced practice nurse role that affords them greater control when providing direct and indirect clinical care. They can only be executed by acquiring an advanced practice major. As Hillb and Parkera (2017) notes, advanced practice nurses undertake advanced degrees enabling the acquisition of clinical competencies, complex decision making skills, and expert knowledge based for expanded practice to enable them practice nursing at a high level. I believe that is why I chose an advanced practice major. The role of FNPs as is the case of most NPs in primary care has become apparent. As …highlights, this is in terms of providing primary care services in remote/rural areas, providing primary care practices equal to the standards of physicians and meeting the high demand of primary care services from the general population attributed to strides in universal coverage (Barnes, Richards, McHugh, & Martsolf, 2018). EBP is a key driver of improved patient outcomes by helping come up with the most current, best working interventions. Nonetheless, it is not a standalone factor; it must be supported by proper leadership, collaboration, scholarship, resources, organizational culture and cost effectiveness. In addition to this, FNPs should have traits for successful NPs. These include emotional stability, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, attention to details, tenacity and having a mind of inquiry. Woo, Lee and Tam (2017) research shows that allowing advanced nurses, including FNPs more control over providing direct care to maximize on them result in better quality of care, coordination of care and clinical outcomes. Peer 2. The health of the population is the mos ...

CHAPTER 9 3. Suds’s Bottling Company does bottling, labeling, and distribution work for several local microbreweries. The demand rate for Wortman’s beer is 600 cases (24 bottles each) per week. Suds’s bottling production rate is 2,400 cases per week, and the setup cost is $800. The value of inventory is $12.50 per case, and the annual holding cost is 30 percent of the inventory value. Suds’s facilities operate 52 weeks each year. What is the economic production lot size? CHAPTER 12 2. Cyberphone, a manufacturer of cell phone accessories, ended the current year with annual sales (at cost) of $48 million. During the year, the inventory of accessories turned over six times. For the next year, Cyberphone plans to increase annual sales (at cost) by 25 percent. a. What is the increase in the average aggregate inventory value required if Cyberphone maintains the same inventory turnover during the next year? b. What change in inventory turns must Cyberphone achieve if, through better supply chain management, it wants to support next year’s sales with no increase in the average aggregate inventory value? This course has helped me to gain invaluable insights about the advanced practice nursing roles. I have also been able to master most of the predesignated course outcomes, although I must admit that I require further development in some areas. An important area in which I have been able to learn a lot pertains to the different roles and scope of practice for nurses working in advanced arenas. These arenas include clinical, education, administration, informatics, research, and health policy arenas (Hamric, Hanson, Tracy, & O'Grady, 2014). While I was able to learn that these professionals might have different responsibilities and roles, I also grasped the nature of interdependence between the various professionals and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration for advancing the profession and ensuring the dispensation of quality care to patients. From the class lectures and assignments, I also gained a heightened understanding of the core competencies that apply to advanced practice nurses. These competencies can play a central role in improving the quality of care dispensed to patient and fostering the professional development of the advanced practice nurses. Some of the competencies that cut across all APN roles include effective communication, responsive leadership, coaching and mentorship, consultation, teamwork, people development, as well as respect for diversity (Goodman, Reidy, & Cartier, 2012). Among these competencies, the one that would benefit me from further improvement is diversity awareness. To improve my skills in this competency domain, I aspire to find mentorship from my superiors, enrolling in multicultural courses in addition to providing care to diverse patients where I can get firsthand account about dealing with multicultural issues in health care. As I have further learned in this course, health promotion a.

Running head: WEEK 1 PROJECT WEEK 1 PROJECT 2 Week 1 project Name: Institution: Course: Date: Family nurse practitioner Family nurse practitioner (FNP) is my specialty. A family nurse practitioner can be defined as a registered nurse who has specialized clinical and educational training in family unit. FNPs work autonomously or collaborating with other health professionals to deliver family-focused care. FNPs are trained to work with infants, adults, and elderlies in the context of family unit practice and clinical setting. Family nurse practitioners are usually masters/doctoral-educated, certified nationally and state-licensed registered nurses who provide care for the patients/clients across their lifespan. FNPs provide health care services to family unit ranging from health promotion to direct care to disease prevention and counseling. Family nurse practitioners work with their patients on maintaining health as well as wellness with the main focus of preventative care (Barnes, 2015). Most family nurse practitioners choose to operate in underserved communities or populations. FNP as a clinical role and how it promotes patients outcomes Family nurse practitioner role is clinical. This is because FNPs perform various clinical duties such as treating minor injuries to family members, performing health diagnostics, managing their clients with various chronic conditions and prescribing medications to their clients. Family nursing practitioners improve patients’ outcomes in various families. They provide clinical and educational services to clients which improve their health status hence improving access to health care services and health information (DeNisco, 2018). Most family nurse practitioners like operating in underserved communities or populations to promote access to health care to all people. They provide education and training to their clients on various health conditions, their symptoms, preventative measures and measures they can take to stay safe. Family nurse practitioners also improve patient safety by providing one-of-a-kind quality care to their patients. Family nurse practitioners promote by involving patients in administering care (Blair, 2015). Patients feel involved hence satisfied with the type of care provided to them. Advanced nursing practice concept in FNP The concept of advanced practice describes an extended level of clinical nursing practice maximizing the use of deep nursing knowledge, Masters educational preparation and expertise and skills that meet the health needs of families, individuals, groups, communities, and populations. This concept involves analyzing and combining knowledge; interpreting and then applying nursing research and theory; advancing and developing nursing knowledge and the entire profession (Blair, 2015). The scope of advanced nursing practice is differentiated by the autonomy to practice especially in expanding the boundaries of nursing. In advanced nursing practice, family nu.

That said, all nurses have an ethical obli- gation to advocate for patients in a way that protects them from harm, regardless of the nurse’s environ- ment or title in their organization. A nurse’s educa- tion and license serve as the basis for the expected standards of competent nursing practice. When patient care practices become substandard and lack competency, the nurse increases the risk of patient harm. Every nurse must cultivate ethical leadership qualities to build his or her own moral compass in a way that guides the delivery of ethical and compe- tent nursing care, and provide a model for other nurses to follow. Building a moral compass In 2015, the American Nurses Association (ANA) introduced a revision of the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements to guide nurses in all areas of practice.1 Daily, nurses are vital leaders in the delivery and design of life-saving care. The ethi- cal leadership of nursing covers more than just the delivery of direct patient care; it also applies to the development and design of systemwide models of nursing care delivery that impact indirect patient care. Ethical leadership is critical in both direct and indirect delivery of optimal nursing care. This code revision may serve to guide nurses in recognizing and developing ethical leadership qualities. The ethics/advocacy connection The ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements contains nine provisions that have been revised from the 2001 version.1 The nine provisions contain a centralized relative theme—the nurse—and focus on his or her national and global convergence with patients, other nurses, other individuals, the nursing profession, and society. These provisions assist nurses with identifying basic values and commitments, highlighting the limits of loyalty and duty, and recognizing the facets of responsi- bilities that extend beyond the singular encounter with a patient. The revision of these provisions also addresses the current envi- ronment of nursing in a way that encourages nurses to realize the global scope of nursing signifi- cance on health.1 To better understand the ...

Discover the Kisan Call Centre: Your Gateway to Agricultural Assistance KISAN CALL CENTRE In order to harness the potential of ICT in Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare launched the scheme “Kisan Call Centres” (KCCs) on January 21, 2004. Main aim of the scheme is to answer farmers’ queries on a telephone call in their own language. These call centres are working in 21 different locations in the country covering all the States and UTs. A countrywide common eleven digit Toll Free Number 1800-180-1551 has been allotted for Kisan Call Centre. This number is accessible through mobile phones and landlines of all telecom networks including private service providers. Replies to the farmers’ queries are given in 22 local languages. Kisan Call Centre services are available from 6.00 AM to 10.00 PM on all seven days of the week at each KCC location. Kisan Call Centre agents known as Farm Tele Advisors (FTAs), who are graduate or above (i.e. PG or Doctorate) in Agriculture or allied sectors (Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Poultry, Bee-Keeping, Sericulture, Aquaculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Marketing, Bio-Technology, Home Science, etc.) and possess excellent communication skills in respective local language. Queries which cannot be answered by FTAs are transferred to higher level experts. These experts are Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) of State Departments of Agriculture (SDAs), ICAR Institutes, KVKs and State Agricultural Universities (SAUs). A Kisan Knowledge Management System (KKMS) has been developed to capture all the details of the caller and sending gist of answer given through SMS. KKMS has its independent website : http://dackkms.gov.in. The KCC, FTAs working at various KCC locations throughout the country have access to this website through their specific IDs and password provided to them.
