Plan  Sponsors start by defining their group’s collaboration outcomes and identifying role-based synergies to extend invitations and form the group’s core team.  Core team design collaboration activities.  Moderators provision the group environment and soft-launch one or two activities. The group is launched and individuals can join the group and participate in activities. On a quarterly or bi-annual basis, the core team meets to look at engagement metrics and extend or close out the activities of the group.   3. Notes: You’ll recall also this slide where we briefly went across the phases of a group’s collaboration program. Today’s session will pick up where we left off and take a deeper dive of the Plan phase which includes the Prepare phase. I’ve also introduced a ‘Prepare’ phase which is really a pre-requisite to starting the Planning phase. We’ll go through why we need to prepare and what tasks define this phase. In the work plan template you’ll see a breakdown of tasks by each of these phases that will help you build, launch and support your group.

  6. Relationships is at the core of communities. Who do I build relationship with? Distinguish between colleagues and team members. The strength of communities is that it is open and that the boundaries are porous – thus facilitating connections that otherwise would not be discovered. Users are no longer consumers of content but want to be recognized / be more visible for their expertise as seen through their contributions. Move away from documents to more dynamic interaction outputs – Discussions, blogs, ideas, wiki, feeds, bookmarks, tags.
