ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS
By Jocelyn, Year 10
SO...
 We all want something out of life. Some people
want to be famous sports stars, other want to be
doctors, and there are others who want to be in
    theatre.
 Whatever it is you want to do, you will not get
    there by doing nothing.

 This is where goals come in...
GETTING SOMEWHERE...

 “If you don’t want to get anywhere in life, then no
matter which road you take, you will get there”

  Anonymous
HOW DO I MAKE GOALS?
 Your goals will obviously depend
on what you want to do. The best
way to set the right goals is to
             start big and get smaller.
 So, you begin by defining exactly
what it is you want. This would
be “Get an A+ in English” or “Go
             to university and study
             medicine”. This is your ultimate
goal, and everything you do will
             be step towards it.
 The next thing to do is to make some short term
goal that will help you on your way, and act as
checkpoints. These would be “Get A’s in my
English exams/assignments” or “Do well in the
    subjects I need for medicine”

 From here, you set even smaller goals, doing all
your English homework, and handing in all you
assignments on time. These small goals usually
involve avoiding bad habits that will hinder you
from reaching your goals, such as procrastination
    and laziness.
ANOTHER QUOTE:
 “There are three easy steps to get what you want
in life and achieve your goals:
2. Know what you want
3. Know what you have to do to get it
4. Just do it!”

  Anonymous
NOW YOU KNOW...

 Now you know how to set effective goals for
    yourself.

 The important part is to right this all down, and
put it where you can see it. Remind yourself
everyday of what you need to be doing. Make a
poster, or anything to suit your needs, and put it
    where you can see it.

 Good luck!!
