research to theirs, including her X-Rays of DNA
• They relied heavily on other scientists’ research

• They made a model showing that hydrogen bonds could
create an almost perfect fit between the bases.

• They used Oswald Avery’s research to find out DNA’s
structure
• Oswald concluded that bacteria could pass traits onto the
next generation
• Their research about the hydrogen bonds helped Erwin
Chargaff find out the pairs for the nitrogenous bases.
