Process Chart”
Prepared by:-Savsani Happy (150123119045)
2. Operation Process Chart (OPC)
The operation chart is a graphical and symbolic representation
of the manufacturing operations used to produce a product.
Flow Process Chart (FPC)
A flow process chart is a graphical means of presenting,
describing, or analyzing a process & movement of material,
men etc.
3. Operation Process Chart
This is also known as outline process chart and it provides a
compact over all view of the whole system of operations involved
in the production of a product.
In this chart only the main activities (operations and inspections)
carried out to complete a job are recorded in the sequence of their
occurrence but irrespective of where they are performed and who
performs them.
4. Advantages Of Operation Process Chart
I. To improve shop/plant layout
II. Helps in specifying the basic manufacturing system.
III. Helps in determining sequence of assembly and the
scheduling activities
IV. To introduce the new technical personal with the
manufacturing system.
5. Flow Process Chart
Flow process chart can be defined as a graphical presentation of all
operations, inspections, delays and storages occurring during a
process or procedure which includes information considered
necessary for analysis like time required, quantity and distance
moved etc.
6. Man type - It records what the worker does.
Material type - It records what happens to the
material.
Equipment type - It records how the equipment is used.
Types Flow Process Chart
7. Process Chart Symbols
Indicates the main steps in a process, method or procedure.
Usually the part, material or product concerned is modified or
changed during the operation.
2.Inspection
Indicates an inspection for quality and / or check for quantity
1.Operation
3.Transport
Indicates the movement of workers, materials or equipment from place
to place
8. 4.Temporary Storage or Delay
Indicates a delay in the sequence of events : for example, work waiting
between consecutive operations, or any object laid aside temporarily without
record until required.
5.Permanent Storage
Indicates a controlled storage in which material is received into or issued
from a store under some form of authorization; or an item is retained for
reference purposes.
6.Combined Activities
Indicates a controlled storage in which material is received into or issued
from a store under some form of authorization; or an item is retained for
reference purposes.
