MARTIN LUTHER KING BIOGRAPHY
Childhood & Education
 Mar tin Luther King, Jr., was born on Tuesday,
Januar y 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia .
 His bir th cer tificate listed his bir th name as Michael
Luther King, Jr., but it was later changed to Mar tin;
his father arranged this change in 1935 in honor of
German reformer and leader of the Protestant
Reformation Mar tin Luther.
 His grandfather and father were both pastor at
Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.
 when fifteen ,he graduated from high school,
having skipped from 9th to 12th grade;
 In 1951, he got a Bachelor ’s of Divinity followed by a Ph.D. from Boston
College in 1955.
 In Boston, he met Coretta Scott and married her in 1953; they had four
children: Yolanda Denise (1955-2007), Martin Luther III (b. 1957), Dexter
Scott (b. 1961), and Bernice Albertine (b. 1963).
As a young boy, Martin had to see the inequality, injustice and racial
tension that was in America. He did not like this.

JOHN F KENNEDY BIOGRAPHY
 Born in May 1917, John F. Kennedy came from an illustrious political family
 John graduated from Harvard after completing a thesis on
“Appeasement in Munich
 John F Kennedy was America’s second youngest elected president.
 In 1946, he won a seat in Boston for the US House of
Representatives, and in 1952 got himself elected for the US Senate,
defeating the incumbent Republican.
 In 1953, he married Jacqueline Lee Bouvier. In 1957 he was awarded
the Pulitzer prize for biography for his book ‘Profiles in Courage‘ a
book about US Senators who stood up for their personal beliefs.
 In 1956, he was nearly chosen to be the Vice Presidential candidate for Adlai Stevenson. The national
exposure raised his profile, and in 1960 he was chosen to be the Democratic nomination for the
Presidency.
 It was the first time a Roman Catholic had been elected president and it was a big issue in America
where many Protestants distrusted the prospect of America being influenced by the Vatican.
 Kennedy was President of the United states from 1961-1963
 Despite his short tenure, he was one of the highest profile presidents in
history
 Kennedy managed to connect with the majority of American people
 Was the youngest president in American History.

JOHN STOTT BIOGRAPHY
 John Stott (born -1921 ,death-2011) lived a committed life as a Christian
theologian and pioneer.
 John Robert Walmsley Stott was Christian leader
and Anglican cleric who was noted as a leader of the
worldwide Evangelical movement
 he was one of the principal authors of the Lausanne Covenant in
1974. In 2005,Time magazine ranked Stott among the 100 most
influential people in the world
 In 1935, he went on to Rugby School.
 Stott studied modern languages at Trinity College
Cambridge where he graduated with a double first in French and
theology

Cyril Ramaphosa
 Rolihlahla Mandela was born into the Madiba clan in Mvezo, Transkei to parents Nonqaphi
Nosekeni and Nkosi Mphakanyiswa Gadla Mandela.
 Mandela went on to attend primary school in Qunu and it was his teacher Miss Mdingane who
gave him the name Nelson, as it was the custom to give all school children “Christian” names.

JHANSI KI RAANI LAKSHMIBAI
 Lakshmi bai was born on 19 November 1828 in the holy town of
Varanasi into a Marathi Brahmin family.
 She was named Manikarnika and was nicknamed Manu.
 Manikarnika was married to the Maharaja of Jhansi, Raja
Gangadhar Rao Newalkar , in May 1842 and was afterwards
called Lakshmibai (or Laxmibai) in honour of the Hindu goddess
Lakshmi.
 Died :-17/18 June 1858 in Kotah ki Serai, Gwaloir, India.

 1836- Lincoln passing the bar examination after taught
himself law. Then he worked as a lawyer in Springfield, he
was earn a reputation as “Honest Abe”

BENAZIR BHUTTO BIOGRAPHY
 Benazir Bhutto (21 June 1953 – 27 December 2007)
was the first women elected to lead a Muslim state.
 Benazir was the daughter of a former prime minister
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Her family came from the Bhutto
tribe of Sindhi and she was born in Karachi, Sindh.
 Benazir was brought up speaking both Urdu and
English, and after passing her A-Levels, she went to
Oxford University, to study Law at Lady Margaret Hall
college.
 She joined the Pakistan People's Party and serve as the
nation's prime minister.
 She inherited her father's leadership of the PPP.
 She became the first ever female prime minister of a Muslim nation on
December 1, 1988

KALPANA CHAWLA BIOGRAPHY
 Born in Karnal, India, on July 1, 1961, Chawla was the youngest of
four children. The name Kalpana means "idea" or "imagination.
 Chawla obtained a degree in aeronautical engineering from
Punjab Engineering College before immigrating to the United
States and becoming a naturalized citizen in the 1980s.
 She earned a doctorate in aerospace engineering from the
University of Colorado in 1988. She began working at NASA's
Ames Research Center the same year.
 Selected by NASA in December 1994, Dr. Chawla
reported to the Johnson Space Center in March
1995. After completing a year of training and
evaluation, she was assigned to work technical issues
for the Astronaut Office EVA/Robotics and Computer
Branches. Dr. Chawla will serve as a mission specialist
on the crew of the fourth U-S, Microgravity Payload
flight scheduled for an November 1997 launch on
board Columbia on mission STS-87.

ABDUL KALAM BIOGRAPHY
 1931: A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born on 15th October.
 1954: Graduated from Saint Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli.
 1955: Enrolled at the Madras Institute of Technology to study
aerospace engineering.
 1960: Joined Aeronautical Development Establishment of
Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) as a
chief scientist.
 1969: Was transferred to the Indian Space Research Organization
(ISRO).
 1992-1999:
Served as the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister and the Secretary
of Defence Research and Development Organisation.
 2002-2007:
Served as the 11th President of India.
 2007:
Teaching in colleges.
 27 July 2015:
Died (aged 83, Shillong, Meghalaya, India)

SRIMAVO BANDARANAIKE
BIOGRAPHY Sirimavo Bandaranaike was born on 17 April 1916, as Sirima Ratwatte
to a prominent Radala family, who were descended from Ratwatte
Dissawa, Dissawa of Matale , a signatory on behalf of the Sinhalese
to the Kandyan Convention of 1815
 Bandaranaike was educated at St Bridget's Convent, Colombo , but
was a practicing Buddhist
 In 1940 she married Solomon West Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike , a
member of the State council
 Her husband Solomon was a founding member of the United
National Party (UNP) in 1946 and was elected to the House of
Representatives (elected lower house of Parliament) in the first
elections of the Dominion of Ceylon in 1947.
 Sirimavo was brought forward as legitimate successor to her
husband's party leadership and she entered politics.

MARTIN LUTHER KING BIOGRAPHY Childhood & Education  Mar tin Luther King, Jr., was born on Tuesday, Januar y 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia .  His bir th cer tificate listed his bir th name as Michael Luther King, Jr., but it was later changed to Mar tin; his father arranged this change in 1935 in honor of German reformer and leader of the Protestant Reformation Mar tin Luther.  His grandfather and father were both pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.  when fifteen ,he graduated from high school, having skipped from 9th to 12th grade;  In 1951, he got a Bachelor ’s of Divinity followed by a Ph.D. from Boston College in 1955.

JHANSI KI RAANI LAKSHMIBAI  Lakshmi bai was born on 19 November 1828 in the holy town of Varanasi into a Marathi Brahmin family.  She was named Manikarnika and was nicknamed Manu.  Manikarnika was married to the Maharaja of Jhansi, Raja Gangadhar Rao Newalkar , in May 1842 and was afterwards called Lakshmibai (or Laxmibai) in honour of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi.  Died :-17/18 June 1858 in Kotah ki Serai, Gwaloir, India.

The name Kalpana means "idea" or "imagination.  Chawla obtained a degree in aeronautical engineering from Punjab Engineering College before immigrating to the United States and becoming a naturalized citizen in the 1980s.  She earned a doctorate in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado in 1988. She began working at NASA's Ames Research Center the same year.
