Is blogging dead? This is the age-old question, and the answer is no... Not quite dead, but also not fully alive in a way. If you are looking to start a blog, read this guide first to find out more. https://red-dot-geek.com/is-blogging-dead/
2. HELLO
My name is Tan Ah Kow. I love blogging
and share the passion by giving free
presentations.
3. 1) SOME HISTORY
• Blogging started in the mid 2000s.
• It was a huge trend…
• But it sort of died down later, much like
any other trends.
• Social media also sort of taken over the
buzz.
4. 2) THE NUMBERS
• Google Trends show a declining interest in
the term “blogging”.
• That does not mean a dying trend.
• It only means more people know blogging
these days.
• People already know what blogging is, and
thus, not search for it.
5. 3) DIVERSE GROWTH
• Instead of just flat “blogging” these days,
people are searching for ways to start a
blog these days.
• I.E. People can search for “how to start a
blog”, “WordPress Website”, “Free Blogs”,
etc…
• Adding all these search terms together still
gives a positive trend.
6. 4) WILL BLOGS DIE?
• No, but they will evolve.
• More new technology, blogs will adapt.
• Just like today, blogs have adopted sound,
videos, and social media.
• Yes, the market is saturated – Professional
blogging will be very difficult and “die out”.
7. 5) NOT CONVINCED?
• Big companies still maintain blogs.
• Walmart Today, Coca-Cola Unbottled, Oh
My Disney, etc…
• Why do companies keep a blog? To keep
an interested audience coming back to
them.
• Blogs are still alive and kicking.
8. 6) SHOULD I START?
• Blogging pays – When you get to a certain
level.
• You can make a living online with
blogging.
• But it is not easy, it is very competitive.
• If you blog out of passion for your hobby –
please do so.
9. “Substitute 'damn' every time
you're inclined to write 'very;' your
editor will delete it and the writing
will be just as it should be.”
― Mark Twain
