This document provides an overview of the four main periods in prehistory - the Paleolithic Age, Neolithic Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. It describes some key characteristics of each period. The Paleolithic Age (Old Stone Age) began around 2 million years ago and ended between 10,000-4,000 years ago. People lived nomadic lifestyles as hunter-gatherers. The Neolithic Age (New Stone Age) began around 10,200 BC and saw the development of agriculture and more permanent settlements. The Bronze Age followed and was characterized by the usage of bronze and early urban civilizations. The Iron Age began after and was marked by the widespread use of iron for tools and weapons
2. INTRODUCTION
The three age system in archeology and physical anthropology is the
periodization of human prehistory into three consecutive time period named for their
respective tool making technologies they are Stone Age Bronze Age and lron age. The
old stone age is called Paleolithic age. Neolithic age is the period in the development
of human technology agriculture etc.. In bronze age gives paver way to human
civilization and invention of iron leads to agriculture development. Development of
written language.
PALEOLITHIC AGE
The Paleolithic age refers to the pre historic period or Old Stone Age, the earliest
period of human development and the logiest phase of mankind history. Its
approximately coextensive with the pteistocene geologic epoch beginning about 2
million years ago and ending in various place between 4000 and 10000 years ago.
The first stone tools are used to meet peoples basic needs of food, , shutter, and
clothing in Paleolithic age people moves one place to another so they do have any
permanent homes. Old stone age people built temporary homes. People travelled in
small groups we sometime call these people hunter gathers in small groups. We
sometime call these people hunter gathers.

4. NEOLITHIC AGE
Neolithic age or New Stone age was a period in the development of human
technology, beginning about 10, 200 BC. According to ASPRO chronology in the same
parts of the middle east and latter in other part of world. And ending 4500 and 2000 BC.
It developed directly from the Epi Paleolithic natufian culture in the region whose
people pioneered the use of wild cerels which then evolved in the true farming.
The clothing Neolithic age was made from plant and tibers (like flax) animal hair
(like wool) or animal skins. The Neolithic people to create permanent shelters which
were simple round structure built of stoned and rooted with logs. Were probably not
even aware of the extant of their innovation.

8. BRONZE AGE
Bronze age is the time period characterized by the use of bronze, proto writing
and other early features of urban civilization Bronze age was the period was followed
by stone age. It lasted between 3300 to 1200 BC. It introduced metals like bronze,
copper and alloy and their usage in society. The human civilization become little more
advanced during this period. Bronze age did not start at the same time all over the
world. The culture of this age spread eventually with time from country to country.
By the time of Bronze age people had learnt to weave wool into cloth, so their
cloths become a little more sophisticated then the rough skin worn their ancestors in
stone age. They wrong finer clothes and ornaments like ring and bracelets. During the
bronze age people built tree houses made of bamboos sticks were constructed during
those days. Many dynasties also begin around the world during this time. Therefore
houses were also constructed with the mixture of stones and metals together.

12. IRON AGE
The tron age is the period generally occurring after the Bronze age, marked by
the wide spread use of iron and steel. The early period of the age is characterized by the
wide spread use of iron. The addition of these material coincide with other change in
society including differing agricultural practices, religious beliefs and artists styles. The
pricipate future that distinguishes the iron from preceding ages is the introduction of
alphabetic characters and the consequent development of written language which
enabled literature and historic record.
The round house is very popular in iron age. The round house is the type of house
with a circular plan originally built in western Europe, using walls made of stone o
wooden posts joined by wallet and daub panels and council that ched roof. Mainly
people in the Iron Age wear leather and wore handmade cloths as they existed during
1200BS. The women of the tribes made most of the cloths because they had the skill
and the men’s skill was hunting fishing etc..
