Welcome to a overview of our campus’ use of technology and availability of technology.
This is our agenda for today.
In order to meet the needs of technology and to prepare our students for the technological needs of the 21 st . Century, Texas has implement a plan to accomplish this goal. It is called the Texas Long Range Plan. Here we have an overview of the first phase.
The Texas Long Range Plan has implemented an assessment and rating scale to measure a district’s and school use of technology. This flow chart show each key area and the rating possibilities.
This is a measure of what is happening in the classroom and the frequency of which technology is being implemented in the classroom.
This area measures the teachers exposure to to training and understanding of technology.
This area measure the extent which administrators support their staff with leadership, professional development and funding.
This area measures the amount of computers, quality of internet access, availability of other technologies in the classroom and the technical support that the district and the administrator provides on a campus.
This is how our school rated in the year 2008-2009.
Here we have our rating for year 2007-2008.
Here we have our rating for year 2006-2007.
Here we have all three years together showing the rating classifications.
Here we have a clearer view of how our school did in the three past years. As you can see the data indicates that in 2007-2008 we came up from the previous year 2006-2007, however we went down in the school year 2008-2009. We have maintained but not grown.
Over all in 2006 -2007 we were in need of growth in the areas of Educator Preparation Development and Infrastructure for Technology. Meaning we were not providing the tools for teachers to attend in service and teachers did not have the hardware tools to allow students to use computers.
Over all in 2007 -2008 we were in need of growth in the areas of Teaching and Learning, Educator Preparation Development and Infrastructure for Technology. Our school show growth in 3 for the 4 Key areas.
In 2008 -2009 our school showed an increase in the areas of Leadership, Admin., Instructional Support and Infrastructure. However, we showed a decrease in Teaching and Learning and we remained constant in Educator Preparation and Development. These results seem to be right in line with the Texas Long Range Plan.
