How To Write A Personal Narrative Essay
Hi I'm Paige and if you had told me last year I'd be in Office Administration I would've said, "no
way, not even close". That's one of those jobs requiring you to be cool calm and collected. The
atmospheres are peaceful and then people work constantly. It's the opposite of my desired
profession and personality. I'm the opposite of my career, or well it was until I met my instructor,
Miss Young. She changed my mind about how I perceived the trade and what I could do with the
skills once I completed. Was very instrumental in helping me obtain the necessary skills to make
the most money in the field of Office work. I managed to get my typing up to the speed of over 60
words per minute. I learned all the processes of Windows Operating Systems, I even got a glimpse
of Windows 10. Using...show more content...
I loved learning. Data entry was a breeze for me as was all the other work in Office Administration
because you just get projects and assignments, follow the directions was simple, and get it done.
Again, Ms. Young did her job well. Whether in a large office space separated by cubicles, or a
nice private office, I'm certain that I can raise to the occasion and do well for myself. Passing the
certification will be easy. I was excited that completing my trade only took me4 months. The next
decision was to decide what I was going to pursue with my completion and certification. I have
options depending upon the level I'm seeking to achieve, there are quite a few. The amount of
words you type and keyboarding skills make a difference. I can type 50wpm. Office positions are
wide open all over the country, depending upon your skill level, they're not isolated to a high–rise
building filled with windows in a 4,000 square foot space of cubicles. Very large companies such as
Ashley Furniture, Office Depot, Walmart, and Luxury Car Dealerships like Mercedes and Lexus
have teams of Administrative staff. They are the backbone of a

The Importance Of Narrative Writing
Narrative Writing is a story that is told and the order in which it is told. Some stories have
narrators and some without. The narrator is normally a series of characters or one character who tell
the story. Sometimes narrative writing can be classified as fiction writing which is a made up from
start to finish. When there is narrative writing that is based on true stores, then the narrative writing
is non fiction. Most narrative writing in the law enforcement sector is a "how to" format or a
guideline on how a report should be written. It also explains the actual facts on how a crime
occurred during the investigation. According to the text Biggs (2016), There are five rules of
narrative writing. The first rule of narrative writing is, the report should always be written in first
person. When the narrative explains first person, the narrative is stating that using "I or Me" in
the reports identify the author of the person who is writing the investigative report. If "I or Me"
is not being used to write the investigative reports, the investigation could be sought as made up or
fake. The second rule of narrative writing is, the report should also be written in past tense along
with first person view. According to the text, If you write in the past tense, you will develop
consistency and, as a result, create a report that is professional and easy to read. With this type of
consistency, the reports are easily believable to the reader and makes it easy to follow the

Personal Narrative: My First Failing Grade
"Most of you did exceptionally well on this first test, but any one of you with a grade below a
70% should rethink how you study" said my AP chemistry teacher as he passed back the first test
of the school year. Knowing I didn't study, I held in my breath and closed my eyes as he handed
me the three sheets of scribbles and sloppily circled answers. Slowly I opened my eyes and
looked down at my grade, and there it was, 49%. My first failing grade. My cheeks turned as red
as the sharpie the teacher used to mark my paper. Embarrassment and shame crashed over me. Page
flip after page flip, I scanned my mistakes and then immediately shoved the papers into my folder.
Other classmates were gawking at their success and I didn't want them to see my failure. That grade
haunted my mind for forever, it seemed....show more content...
Only the beginning of junior year, I was afraid to continue the class. I was afraid I was going to
flunk out. The class carried on as I sat there day after day with the thought of failing on my mind.
However, that only made me even more determined to get a higher grade on the next test. I could
not let a bad grade eat me up and demolish my desire to succeed. Later when the second test was
passed back, I looked at it, flashed a smile, and flipped through it, noticing only a few minor
mistakes. Returning to the front page, I stared at that 92% until the end of class. This also taught
me that it is acceptable to fail, as long as you focus on succeeding the next time. Demonstrated by
my later passing grade, I changed my study habits to focus on getting a better grade, and I got the
result I was hoping for. Hard work and determination led me to be able to say that I did it; that I

Narrative Essay 1st Draft As I saw him walk towards my locker at school, as he usually did after
8th period everyday, I could tell what was about to happen. My name was all that I would let him
say before I finished what I already knew he was going to say. "You're breaking up with me". And
then I just turned and walked away as he called my name yet again but did nothing to catch up to
me. I walked down the hallway by the counselors office in the B building where my group of
friends usually hung around and exclaimed that he had just broken up with me. They offered me
quick condolences before I walked to my bus and sat quietly till I got home. What then felt like a
bitter goodbye eventually felt like a necessary sadness in order to obtain happiness.

Maria...Where are you?
Being a Nanny is not an easy job. Kids act all sweet and innocent but they ruin your life.
I had to nanny three kids. Eric whose 15, 7 year old Brooklyn and 4 year old Angie. Believe me
those kids were idiots, There mom and dad were filthy rich losers who were just on their high horse
and looked down at me like I was a trash can. Was I? Okay well let me get to what I pay for everyday.
I had just dropped the kids off at school. I needed to go to the bathroom so I went in my bathroom,
upstairs. But on my way I noticed something. The kids parents door was open (Greg and Sherry).
But there door has a lock on it and is never just open. I had never seen there room before. It was nice

so she needed to come down so that she can help comfort her daughter. She responded quickly
saying she was booking a flight and would be there in within an hour since they have there own
private helicopter. The kids were still at school and did not get out for another 2 and a half hours.
I still kept looking in her room for more clues and signs. I found another thing. It was a picture of
my ex husband with a heart around it. By the way my ex husband's name is Michael. All of
sudden I heard the front door open. OH LORD! Sherry was home. So I ran out quickly and tried to
silently close the door and pretend like I was in Brooklyns room with her. But the door made a loud
creek door. By That time it was too late. Sherry was already upstairs and saw I hid behind the
bathroom door. MARIA....Where ARE YOUUUUUUU? I had to come out. She asked why I was in
her room
ВЁWhy I was in your room? I was not in your room, I was closing the door because when you and
Greg left you guys left your door open and I was just closing it so the kids aren't going in there," I
said.

Narrative In 4-10 Paragraphs
Very briefly summarize the narrative in 4–10 sentences. 2) Identify one particular detail (we will call
this a "salient detail") that stood out to you from the text. Quote a portion of that detail here and
explain why you think this detail stuck with you after reading the essay. 3) Explain what you think
was the point or purpose of the essay. In other words, if you had to try to create a thesis for the
essay, what would that be? This narrative talking about a boy with his girl friend who had

I was packing for my trip to England! I was the most excited I had ever been! I had wanted to visit
London, England ever since I knew what it was. I was ecstatic that I had won a trip from J.K.
Rowling, the author of books that I had cherished since 2nd grade, and I couldn't wait to spend
days with my aunt, the person that read the books to me and was one of the best people I knew.
An all expense paid trip with one of my favorite people to a destination I dreamed of ever since I
could talk was unimaginable and yet, it was about to happen! My aunt Lindsay arrived on
Wednesday morning. "Are you ready for the best thing ever?" She already knew the answer but I
smiled brightly, assuring both of us that we were about to have the best time of our lives. I
wheeled my overpacked suitcase outside and put it in my grandma's trunk. Once my grandma
dropped us off at the airport around 8:00 a.m. Lindsay and I enjoyed our overpriced starbucks
coffee as we fantasized about the amazing things about to occur. We boarded the plane and headed
off on our 10 hour flight to London. The only solution we could find to fill this 10 hour time frame
was a Harry Potter movie marathon. We watched movies until our eyes hurt. We were halfway
through the 5th movie when our plane landed in the London City Airport around 8 p.m. which was
midnight London time. We took a taxi to our hotel and I gazed out the grimy window at the
beautiful city that I had only seen pictures of before. When we got to our room at the Shangri–La
Hotel we were welcomed with more breathtaking views of the London skyline. We fell asleep
quickly. I found it ironic how tired a day of doing virtually nothing could make you feel. The next
day I woke up to an alarm at 11:00. The four hour time difference was going to take some time to
adjust to. Lindsay and I ordered some room service breakfast. It was some of the best french toast I
had ever had. We got ourselves ready and we were headed out of the hotel to begin our first full–day
in London! Our first stop on the trip was to the Covent Garden District, a shopping center in
London. My aunt was telling me that the square was designed by Inigo Jones and in 1661 a small
market was introduced. The market was

Personal Narrative: How Easy It Is To Be Real
You how easy it is to be real. Of course, you do. I was always real and honest before but then I
turned stupid and you got hurt as a result. I'm terribly sorry for that. Believe it or not, I am being
completely real and honest, loyal, faithful, unselfish, respectful, and considerate. You probably
think I'm lying but I feel so much better about myself knowing that I'm not lying. There is really
no point in doing the dumb things I did. Although I didn't feel right doing it, feeling guilty, I still
did it. That is a really bad thing. Ignoring my own gut messed a lot of things up. During our first 8
months, I never made you cry because of someone else in our picture, I was a good person then. It

Narrative: a Memorable Event. Essay
Narrative: A memorable event.
I woke to my body jittering with anxiety. It was 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and it was the
day that I had been awaiting for. I was almost ready when my Dad shouted '' Ya betta get ya'self
moving Kertesha, we're gonna be late!''.
I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked
fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there
was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all
the equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed
salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was not a real equestrian gilet,...show more content...
Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became
more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let
alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust,
manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of.
There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with
enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were alphabetically permitted to choose a horse,
and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly.
She was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and
was also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he
stood glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he
had a striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. I had an instant connection with him, and
proclaimed his name as Cashmere.
As I lead Cashmere towards the indoor riding arena, my heart raced. The inconsistent sound hoofs
trotting along the cobbled ground were intensifying. As I stroked Cashmere's muzzle and gave him a
mint polo (he's favourites), I began to mentally prepared myself to mount, and ride him.
Cashmere was

Narrative Essay About Having A Dream
Everyone has a dream. Whether it's small or big...we all have one. We also give up on them. We get
stuck in the idea that our ideas are too far–fetched either because of other people's comments or
because of our own self–doubt. We allow ourselves to forget about them and move on to things we
believe are better for us. To things that although don't make us happy, are what society tells us is the
right way to live. It's hard to have a dream and keep it. The world we live in today is so cruel that a
lot of times we don't even bother to dream anymore. We've gotten to the point where dreaming is just
that. A dream.
Yet, for my mom, that wasn't the case.
My mother was born on March 24, 1973, in a small village in Guatemala. She grew up there...show

She sat me down and said well why not do both. I remember when she said that I was so happy.
We began to think of how I could do both and came up with the idea of a singing lawyer. It was
probably the worst idea we've ever had. I don't even think it would have worked out well either, but
it was the fact that I could have done it and my mom would be completely okay with it and made it
seem perfectly normal that helped me to never quit on my dreams.
Her experience growing up wasn't at all how she made mine. Her mother and step father never
encouraged or supported her. Growing up my mother struggled a lot. She had to grow up a lot
faster than most kids and had to deal with the real world way before she should have had to. She
was never pushed to do better or told that her dreams could come true.
Since she was little she was always having to take care of her three sisters. She wasn't allowed to
go out a lot so she was always home studying or in her room. She was so restricted in her own home
that even now I can't imagine how terrible that must have felt. To constantly have to worry not only
about yourself but for other people when you haven't even reached puberty.
Her stepfather was the worst of all. He would always put her down and would try to make her feel
like nothing. She didn't even have protection from her own mother, because her mom would never
say anything about it. She just let it happen.

At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward
reading and writing; more so towards reading. Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure
but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very
basic posts on facebook expressing one's opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit
discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it's the severe senioritis that has overcome me as I
enter my last semester at Chapman University. As I've gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in
my everyday life. Deep down I still love to read but I rarely find myself getting truly invested into
the action unless it relates to something I am very...show more content...
You can feed the mind as much as you want and it will never get full of reading. Sadly, I'm not the
same person that I was. I guess you could say it's part of growing up. It never really was
intentional but it's just the way how it ended up. On the other hand my attitudes toward writing
are very different. First let me say that deep down I truly do not like to write. I myself don't
personally like to write for leisure or pleasure but rather I write because I believe it is one of the
most important aspects of being able to communicate with those around you, both personally and
professionally. To put differently, my attitude towards writing is that I write because I need to
write and survive in the world around me. I write because I have to, not because I want to.
Hopefully this somewhat makes sense. To better explain let me make a comparison. When I am
assigned a writing assignment or I am writing because the action is being forced upon me I find
myself not enjoying the process and overall the end result is subpar. The perfect example of this
would be my junior year in high school when I was enrolled in AP english literature. I dreaded the
majority of the class simply because there was so much writing involved in the entire course and
therefore I was constantly writing just to get a grade. Being forced to write in such high volume
every week for an entire school year was not enjoyable for myself and as a result the

Narrative Essay On A Journey
Everybody is on or has been on a journey before. Being on a journey is very important because it
gives you a goal or task that you want to accomplish. When you go on a journey you find is
yourself through the experiences and obstacles that life throws at you. Throughout a journey, you
are taught life lessons and have the capability of applying that new knowledge for the future for a
better outcome. Sometimes, these life lessons challenge you and you ultimately succeed at the end.
For the past 5 months, I have been on a journey as I have been learning a new instrument that I've
always wanted to learn since I was a little kid. Being on this path has taught me many life lessons
and how to stay focused on what really matters.
My interest in guitar started when my friend used to bring his guitar everyday and I would always
want to play but didn't know how. I would always ask him to teach me how to play but I didn't
know any of the chords and notes, therefore, I just gave up on attempting to play this new
instrument. However, guitar is an elective that's offered here at Kennedy, so I decided to take the
class. I noticed that my friend was getting better the more he practiced, so I decided to join the
class to learn the basics and get started on this new journey. At first, it was difficult to understand
the notes because I didn't have any musical background to help assist me for my own benefit.
However, I began to focus more in class to learn the basics day by day. Overtime, I learned that you
can't learn guitar in one day and you need a lot of practice to get better. I also discovered how
progress is important to reach my end goal.
I stayed on this journey to learn guitar because playing guitar is a special skill that I want to
learn. n my free time or when I'm bored, I could play guitar while learning new and more songs to
play. As a result, I will eventually and gradually get more advanced the more I learn. Another
reason I stayed on this journey is because I want to want to challenge myself to do something I
thought I could never do. When I was little, I always thought that I would never be able to play an
instrument because it was too difficult to learn. Therefore, this is why I wanted to learn guitar in the

My Reading & Writing Experience My experiences as a writer have been both very engrossing
and strenuous. I have learned a great quantity on both reading and writing, though, I continue to
struggle on things that I have learned by this time, making the same mistakes that I do not even
realize. Sometimes things are not so easy to understand when reading information, especially if the
wording of an article is difficult for example. I love the idea of learning new things everyday.
These past years as a writer have been very interesting, and I have learned and grasped many
concepts I have been taught along the way.
Weaknesses I have had difficulty on is having to write essays. Every time my teachers assign me
work to perform that involves writing an essay for instance, I tend to get frustrated. I would often
spend hours trying to craft an idea on what to write about and how I should word it in my essay. An
additional problem is when I read the paper to myself and looks fine, but when I turn the paper over
to someone else, they do not find the point I was trying to convey. Then, I would have to verbally
express the key ideas or meaning of the essay. My next two weaknesses are the ones that I still
continue to kind of struggle. Those weaknesses are not finding the right words to write and being

is because when I read, I like to make sure I am understanding the material I am reading. When I

sentence does not sound correct, I work on it for it to sound better. The same rule applies to
paragraphs. I always make sure I edit a paragraph before I move on to the next. I have done this
with all essays. I would make sure a paragraph conveys important points relating to the topic of the

Example Of A Narrative Essay College
A narrative essay is a story that is true and has meaning, whether it be to prove a point, send a
message, explain an event that's happened, or entertain the reader. Most narrative essays are
written to convey a story from a past time that sends a message to not only the reader, but the
writer themselves. When planning a narrative essay, the first step is to identify the topic in which
the writer wants to explain. There are multiple ways in which the you can come up with a topic, it
all depends on the style you're most comfortable with. The next step is to write down all the main
events that supports the topic you have chosen. What main events led up to the story you're trying to
approach? What key events made what your topic is all about?...show more content...
This event made a big impact on my life as it showed me the value of work ethic by showing me
that hard work pays off. It also taught me to never give up and follow your heart. And lastly, it
taught me the importance of a team to help me through the tough practices and mental battles. When
choosing my topic, I wrote down 3 main events that were important in my life that impacted me and
shaped myself into the person I am today. The 3 I chose were: breaking the 3200–meter record for
my school, breaking the 4x800 record with my team, and lastly, moving from Poinciana to
Kissimmee and leaving all my friends to take on a new chapter in my life. The topic I chose to
write is one I feel very passionate about and the single memory I can recall the most. Although
breaking the 4x800 record with my team was a memorable moment and the first record I'd ever
broken at my school, nothing compared to the feeling I got when I broke an individual record that
was held by my own coach. I had a sense of relief and happiness, not just for myself, but my coach
as well. It felt as if I didn't just break the record for the sake of me personally, but for him too. May
have taken 21 years to be broken, but I'd say it sure was worth

Personal Narrative Essay : My Greatest Adventure
It took me a while to realize that I could've never imagined something like this. It was a cool
morning, the sun hadn't even risen, and we had already begun the adventure of a lifetime. I would
like to take the time to tell you my story, the story of my greatest adventure.
It was 4:35 am when we left for Algonquin Park. We were the only ones on the road. The three
hours went by quickly, and quietly. Besides the fact this adventure was my birthday present, the
real reason I wanted to go was to find some moose and I did just that when we entered the Park.
Slowly driving down Highway 60, we looked but had no luck. No moose for today but three more
days of adventure awaits.
We pulled up to the portage store at 8 am, parked the car and grabbed our bags, canoe, and walked
across the Highway to an opening in the forest, where the lake becomes a river. This was the most
exciting part of all, getting to step foot in the canoe! I sat in the canoe, as my dad passed me the
bags. It was my job to keep the canoe balanced and prevent it from tipping. After fifteen minutes
the boat had been packed, and it was now time to set off. The first few paddles were smooth, then
the wind arrived. Luckily most of the wind was coming from behind us and even though the water
was choppy, it couldn't have been a better day for our adventure to begin.
We continued to paddle for two hours and arrived at our first portage. The portage was 250m from
Ragged Lake to Smoke Lake. This portage was through a small clearing in the forest and even
though it was a clearing, you needed to watch for bears and moose who roamed the woods. The
first time we walked through the trail, I took my bag, the paddles, and both our lifejackets. Next,
we walked back and took the bear barrel and my dad's backpack. After lugging everything to the
other Lake we decided to take a small break to drink some water, and eat some sandwiches and off
we went again!
Next, we discovered the real beauty of Algonquin Park, the scenery. I took many pictures and soon
we arrived at our second and last portage, "Devil's Staircase". This portage was given its name after,
many previous campers attempted to climb this steep pathway. After 2 long trips, my father checked

Personal Narrative: My Tenth Grade English Class
I have never been a loud person, and because of that fact I have always loved to read. I find
comfort in curling up with a good book and will almost always take staying in reading over going

through speaking up in class would impact my grade significantly, and consequently I was forced
to voice my opinion. The first time I spoke up in class I remember being very nervous to do so. I
was afraid my opinion would be wrong or people would not like what I had to say, but as I spoke,
I slowly saw heads nodding towards me, whispers of agreement, and finally a positive remark from
my teacher for my analysis. From that moment on, I felt comfortable

Easy Narrative Essay Topics

  • 1. How To Write A Personal Narrative Essay Hi I'm Paige and if you had told me last year I'd be in Office Administration I would've said, "no way, not even close". That's one of those jobs requiring you to be cool calm and collected. The atmospheres are peaceful and then people work constantly. It's the opposite of my desired profession and personality. I'm the opposite of my career, or well it was until I met my instructor, Miss Young. She changed my mind about how I perceived the trade and what I could do with the skills once I completed. Was very instrumental in helping me obtain the necessary skills to make the most money in the field of Office work. I managed to get my typing up to the speed of over 60 words per minute. I learned all the processes of Windows Operating Systems, I even got a glimpse of Windows 10. Using...show more content... I loved learning. Data entry was a breeze for me as was all the other work in Office Administration because you just get projects and assignments, follow the directions was simple, and get it done. Again, Ms. Young did her job well. Whether in a large office space separated by cubicles, or a nice private office, I'm certain that I can raise to the occasion and do well for myself. Passing the certification will be easy. I was excited that completing my trade only took me4 months. The next decision was to decide what I was going to pursue with my completion and certification. I have options depending upon the level I'm seeking to achieve, there are quite a few. The amount of words you type and keyboarding skills make a difference. I can type 50wpm. Office positions are wide open all over the country, depending upon your skill level, they're not isolated to a high–rise building filled with windows in a 4,000 square foot space of cubicles. Very large companies such as Ashley Furniture, Office Depot, Walmart, and Luxury Car Dealerships like Mercedes and Lexus have teams of Administrative staff. They are the backbone of a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Importance Of Narrative Writing Narrative Writing is a story that is told and the order in which it is told. Some stories have narrators and some without. The narrator is normally a series of characters or one character who tell the story. Sometimes narrative writing can be classified as fiction writing which is a made up from start to finish. When there is narrative writing that is based on true stores, then the narrative writing is non fiction. Most narrative writing in the law enforcement sector is a "how to" format or a guideline on how a report should be written. It also explains the actual facts on how a crime occurred during the investigation. According to the text Biggs (2016), There are five rules of narrative writing. The first rule of narrative writing is, the report should always be written in first person. When the narrative explains first person, the narrative is stating that using "I or Me" in the reports identify the author of the person who is writing the investigative report. If "I or Me" is not being used to write the investigative reports, the investigation could be sought as made up or fake. The second rule of narrative writing is, the report should also be written in past tense along with first person view. According to the text, If you write in the past tense, you will develop consistency and, as a result, create a report that is professional and easy to read. With this type of consistency, the reports are easily believable to the reader and makes it easy to follow the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Personal Narrative: My First Failing Grade "Most of you did exceptionally well on this first test, but any one of you with a grade below a 70% should rethink how you study" said my AP chemistry teacher as he passed back the first test of the school year. Knowing I didn't study, I held in my breath and closed my eyes as he handed me the three sheets of scribbles and sloppily circled answers. Slowly I opened my eyes and looked down at my grade, and there it was, 49%. My first failing grade. My cheeks turned as red as the sharpie the teacher used to mark my paper. Embarrassment and shame crashed over me. Page flip after page flip, I scanned my mistakes and then immediately shoved the papers into my folder. Other classmates were gawking at their success and I didn't want them to see my failure. That grade haunted my mind for forever, it seemed....show more content... Only the beginning of junior year, I was afraid to continue the class. I was afraid I was going to flunk out. The class carried on as I sat there day after day with the thought of failing on my mind. However, that only made me even more determined to get a higher grade on the next test. I could not let a bad grade eat me up and demolish my desire to succeed. Later when the second test was passed back, I looked at it, flashed a smile, and flipped through it, noticing only a few minor mistakes. Returning to the front page, I stared at that 92% until the end of class. This also taught me that it is acceptable to fail, as long as you focus on succeeding the next time. Demonstrated by my later passing grade, I changed my study habits to focus on getting a better grade, and I got the result I was hoping for. Hard work and determination led me to be able to say that I did it; that I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Narrative Essay Draft Narrative Essay 1st Draft As I saw him walk towards my locker at school, as he usually did after 8th period everyday, I could tell what was about to happen. My name was all that I would let him say before I finished what I already knew he was going to say. "You're breaking up with me". And then I just turned and walked away as he called my name yet again but did nothing to catch up to me. I walked down the hallway by the counselors office in the B building where my group of friends usually hung around and exclaimed that he had just broken up with me. They offered me quick condolences before I walked to my bus and sat quietly till I got home. What then felt like a bitter goodbye eventually felt like a necessary sadness in order to obtain happiness. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Maria...Where are you? Being a Nanny is not an easy job. Kids act all sweet and innocent but they ruin your life. I had to nanny three kids. Eric whose 15, 7 year old Brooklyn and 4 year old Angie. Believe me those kids were idiots, There mom and dad were filthy rich losers who were just on their high horse and looked down at me like I was a trash can. Was I? Okay well let me get to what I pay for everyday. I had just dropped the kids off at school. I needed to go to the bathroom so I went in my bathroom, upstairs. But on my way I noticed something. The kids parents door was open (Greg and Sherry). But there door has a lock on it and is never just open. I had never seen there room before. It was nice with like a dark cherry oak wood...show more content... But anyways I needed to do something about this. Where was my phone? So I ran to my room. FOUND IT! I texted Maria and said that Brooklyn broke her arm at recess and is in the hospital so she needed to come down so that she can help comfort her daughter. She responded quickly saying she was booking a flight and would be there in within an hour since they have there own private helicopter. The kids were still at school and did not get out for another 2 and a half hours. I still kept looking in her room for more clues and signs. I found another thing. It was a picture of my ex husband with a heart around it. By the way my ex husband's name is Michael. All of sudden I heard the front door open. OH LORD! Sherry was home. So I ran out quickly and tried to silently close the door and pretend like I was in Brooklyns room with her. But the door made a loud creek door. By That time it was too late. Sherry was already upstairs and saw I hid behind the bathroom door. MARIA....Where ARE YOUUUUUUU? I had to come out. She asked why I was in her room ВЁWhy I was in your room? • 7. I was packing for my trip to England! I was the most excited I had ever been! I had wanted to visit London, England ever since I knew what it was. I was ecstatic that I had won a trip from J.K. Rowling, the author of books that I had cherished since 2nd grade, and I couldn't wait to spend days with my aunt, the person that read the books to me and was one of the best people I knew. An all expense paid trip with one of my favorite people to a destination I dreamed of ever since I could talk was unimaginable and yet, it was about to happen! My aunt Lindsay arrived on Wednesday morning. "Are you ready for the best thing ever?" She already knew the answer but I smiled brightly, assuring both of us that we were about to have the best time of our lives. I wheeled my overpacked suitcase outside and put it in my grandma's trunk. Once my grandma dropped us off at the airport around 8:00 a.m. Lindsay and I enjoyed our overpriced starbucks coffee as we fantasized about the amazing things about to occur. We boarded the plane and headed off on our 10 hour flight to London. The only solution we could find to fill this 10 hour time frame was a Harry Potter movie marathon. We watched movies until our eyes hurt. We were halfway through the 5th movie when our plane landed in the London City Airport around 8 p.m. which was midnight London time. We took a taxi to our hotel and I gazed out the grimy window at the beautiful city that I had only seen pictures of before. When we got to our room at the Shangri–La Hotel we were welcomed with more breathtaking views of the London skyline. We fell asleep quickly. I found it ironic how tired a day of doing virtually nothing could make you feel. The next day I woke up to an alarm at 11:00. The four hour time difference was going to take some time to adjust to. Lindsay and I ordered some room service breakfast. It was some of the best french toast I had ever had. We got ourselves ready and we were headed out of the hotel to begin our first full–day in London! Our first stop on the trip was to the Covent Garden District, a shopping center in London. My aunt was telling me that the square was designed by Inigo Jones and in 1661 a small market was introduced. The market was Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 9. Personal Narrative: How Easy It Is To Be Real You how easy it is to be real. Of course, you do. I was always real and honest before but then I turned stupid and you got hurt as a result. I'm terribly sorry for that. Believe it or not, I am being completely real and honest, loyal, faithful, unselfish, respectful, and considerate. You probably think I'm lying but I feel so much better about myself knowing that I'm not lying. There is really no point in doing the dumb things I did. Although I didn't feel right doing it, feeling guilty, I still did it. That is a really bad thing. Ignoring my own gut messed a lot of things up. During our first 8 months, I never made you cry because of someone else in our picture, I was a good person then. It is not too late to be that way again, though. • 10. Narrative: a Memorable Event. Essay Narrative: A memorable event. I woke to my body jittering with anxiety. It was 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and it was the day that I had been awaiting for. I was almost ready when my Dad shouted '' Ya betta get ya'self moving Kertesha, we're gonna be late!''. I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all the equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was not a real equestrian gilet,...show more content... Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust, manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of. There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were alphabetically permitted to choose a horse, and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly. She was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and was also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he stood glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he had a striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. I had an instant connection with him, and proclaimed his name as Cashmere. As I lead Cashmere towards the indoor riding arena, my heart raced. The inconsistent sound hoofs trotting along the cobbled ground were intensifying. As I stroked Cashmere's muzzle and gave him a mint polo (he's favourites), I began to mentally prepared myself to mount, and ride him. Cashmere was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Becoming a mother changed my life in a very profound way. Due to my own upbringing, I was less prepared emotionally and mentally than the average young married woman, but with my dearest husband by my side I knew we would survive the parenting journey together. Sacrifices, including my educational goals at that time, were made. Those choices were happily chosen, because I knew that for me to be a "successful" mother, I needed to focus on my child (now 4 children) and grow to become the mother I needed to be, while also supporting my husband as he focused on his career, education and future endeavors. Life with my husband serving in the United States Army means that I'm also –– at any Army given moment –– living life as...show more content... With CCU's reputation, Christian world view, and convenient 5 week online courses that are "portable" I feel that this is my opportunity to attend courses and start taking those baby steps towards completing step #1 – an associates degree. In the grand scheme of life, it is my whole hearted desire to serve as a mother and wife, while still tending to my dreams and desires. Being a mother and military wife has been a journey where I have learned great things about myself and how strong I truly am when conquering real life problems, both as an everyday housewife rearing children, and as a military spouse that tends to automobile issues, finances, and various unreal issues that occur only when my husband is away.

  • 13. Narrative Essay About Having A Dream Everyone has a dream. Whether it's small or big...we all have one. We also give up on them. We get stuck in the idea that our ideas are too far–fetched either because of other people's comments or because of our own self–doubt. We allow ourselves to forget about them and move on to things we believe are better for us. To things that although don't make us happy, are what society tells us is the right way to live. It's hard to have a dream and keep it. The world we live in today is so cruel that a lot of times we don't even bother to dream anymore. We've gotten to the point where dreaming is just that. A dream. Yet, for my mom, that wasn't the case. My mother was born on March 24, 1973, in a small village in Guatemala. She grew up there...show more content... She sat me down and said well why not do both. I remember when she said that I was so happy. We began to think of how I could do both and came up with the idea of a singing lawyer. It was probably the worst idea we've ever had. I don't even think it would have worked out well either, but it was the fact that I could have done it and my mom would be completely okay with it and made it seem perfectly normal that helped me to never quit on my dreams. Her experience growing up wasn't at all how she made mine. Her mother and step father never encouraged or supported her. Growing up my mother struggled a lot. She had to grow up a lot faster than most kids and had to deal with the real world way before she should have had to. She was never pushed to do better or told that her dreams could come true. Since she was little she was always having to take care of her three sisters. She wasn't allowed to go out a lot so she was always home studying or in her room. She was so restricted in her own home that even now I can't imagine how terrible that must have felt. To constantly have to worry not only about yourself but for other people when you haven't even reached puberty. Her stepfather was the worst of all. He would always put her down and would try to make her feel like nothing. She didn't even have protection from her own mother, because her mom would never say anything about it. She just let it happen. My mom Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Literacy Narrative Essay example At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward reading and writing; more so towards reading. Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very basic posts on facebook expressing one's opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it's the severe senioritis that has overcome me as I enter my last semester at Chapman University. As I've gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in my everyday life. Deep down I still love to read but I rarely find myself getting truly invested into the action unless it relates to something I am very...show more content... You can feed the mind as much as you want and it will never get full of reading. Sadly, I'm not the same person that I was. I guess you could say it's part of growing up. It never really was intentional but it's just the way how it ended up. On the other hand my attitudes toward writing are very different. First let me say that deep down I truly do not like to write. I myself don't personally like to write for leisure or pleasure but rather I write because I believe it is one of the most important aspects of being able to communicate with those around you, both personally and professionally. To put differently, my attitude towards writing is that I write because I need to write and survive in the world around me. I write because I have to, not because I want to. Hopefully this somewhat makes sense. To better explain let me make a comparison. When I am assigned a writing assignment or I am writing because the action is being forced upon me I find myself not enjoying the process and overall the end result is subpar. The perfect example of this would be my junior year in high school when I was enrolled in AP english literature. I dreaded the majority of the class simply because there was so much writing involved in the entire course and therefore I was constantly writing just to get a grade. Being forced to write in such high volume every week for an entire school year was not enjoyable for myself and as a result the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Narrative Essay On A Journey Everybody is on or has been on a journey before. Being on a journey is very important because it gives you a goal or task that you want to accomplish. When you go on a journey you find is yourself through the experiences and obstacles that life throws at you. Throughout a journey, you are taught life lessons and have the capability of applying that new knowledge for the future for a better outcome. Sometimes, these life lessons challenge you and you ultimately succeed at the end. For the past 5 months, I have been on a journey as I have been learning a new instrument that I've always wanted to learn since I was a little kid. Being on this path has taught me many life lessons and how to stay focused on what really matters. My interest in guitar started when my friend used to bring his guitar everyday and I would always want to play but didn't know how. I would always ask him to teach me how to play but I didn't know any of the chords and notes, therefore, I just gave up on attempting to play this new instrument. However, guitar is an elective that's offered here at Kennedy, so I decided to take the class. I noticed that my friend was getting better the more he practiced, so I decided to join the class to learn the basics and get started on this new journey. At first, it was difficult to understand the notes because I didn't have any musical background to help assist me for my own benefit. However, I began to focus more in class to learn the basics day by day. Overtime, I learned that you can't learn guitar in one day and you need a lot of practice to get better. I also discovered how progress is important to reach my end goal. I stayed on this journey to learn guitar because playing guitar is a special skill that I want to learn. n my free time or when I'm bored, I could play guitar while learning new and more songs to play. As a result, I will eventually and gradually get more advanced the more I learn. Another reason I stayed on this journey is because I want to want to challenge myself to do something I thought I could never do. When I was little, I always thought that I would never be able to play an instrument because it was too difficult to learn. Therefore, this is why I wanted to learn guitar in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. My Reading & Writing Experience My experiences as a writer have been both very engrossing and strenuous. I have learned a great quantity on both reading and writing, though, I continue to struggle on things that I have learned by this time, making the same mistakes that I do not even realize. Sometimes things are not so easy to understand when reading information, especially if the wording of an article is difficult for example. I love the idea of learning new things everyday. These past years as a writer have been very interesting, and I have learned and grasped many concepts I have been taught along the way. Weaknesses I have had difficulty on is having to write essays. Every time my teachers assign me work to perform that involves writing an essay for instance, I tend to get frustrated. I would often spend hours trying to craft an idea on what to write about and how I should word it in my essay. An additional problem is when I read the paper to myself and looks fine, but when I turn the paper over to someone else, they do not find the point I was trying to convey. Then, I would have to verbally express the key ideas or meaning of the essay. My next two weaknesses are the ones that I still continue to kind of struggle. Those weaknesses are not finding the right words to write and being easily...show more content... I always try to make sure that my teachers understand what they are reading or writing, the reason is because when I read, I like to make sure I am understanding the material I am reading. When I finish a sentence, I stop to reread it. If it sounds correct to me, I move on to the next sentence. If a sentence does not sound correct, I work on it for it to sound better. The same rule applies to paragraphs. I always make sure I edit a paragraph before I move on to the next. I have done this with all essays. I would make sure a paragraph conveys important points relating to the topic of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Personal Narrative: Cheat Sheet I'VE BEEN SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS TO COME OUT!!! For those who don't know this is one of my anticipated of the year (you can check out my list if you haven't already, I posted it in September). But since this is the last book of the series I don't feel the need to write a very long non–spoiler review. I won't write the reasons why I love this series so much in my Top Ten list if you would like to check that. The series starts out in this futuristic world where a young girl named Cinder catches the eye of Prince Kai, the future empire of the Common Wealth. The only problem is that she's a cyborg, part–human part–robot. For this book, I would give it about a 4/5 stars. I was definitely a great read but it wasn't my favorite book in the series, I honestly felt that Cress was the best book, then...show more content... OH GOD, I was so emotional when Jacin and Winter were in the menagerie and he was telling her that he had to kill her. Honestly, I wasn't all that into Wolf and Scarlet's relationship before but after this book I was all Scarlet was like my spirit animal in this book. Honestly, I wasn't all that into Wolf and Scarlet's relationship before but after this book I was all I really loved Scarlet and Winter's relationship. And Scarlet was so funny, especially when she shoved that umbrella in that Capitol guy's face. Excuse me, Artesian guy. ;) OMG, I cried for Wolf so many times in this book. Let me just count all the times for you 1. When he made Cress check out Scarlet's farm. 2. When he saw that handgun in the crate and it reminded him of

  • 19. Example Of A Narrative Essay College A narrative essay is a story that is true and has meaning, whether it be to prove a point, send a message, explain an event that's happened, or entertain the reader. Most narrative essays are written to convey a story from a past time that sends a message to not only the reader, but the writer themselves. When planning a narrative essay, the first step is to identify the topic in which the writer wants to explain. There are multiple ways in which the you can come up with a topic, it all depends on the style you're most comfortable with. The next step is to write down all the main events that supports the topic you have chosen. What main events led up to the story you're trying to approach? What key events made what your topic is all about?...show more content... This event made a big impact on my life as it showed me the value of work ethic by showing me that hard work pays off. It also taught me to never give up and follow your heart. And lastly, it taught me the importance of a team to help me through the tough practices and mental battles. When choosing my topic, I wrote down 3 main events that were important in my life that impacted me and shaped myself into the person I am today. The 3 I chose were: breaking the 3200–meter record for my school, breaking the 4x800 record with my team, and lastly, moving from Poinciana to Kissimmee and leaving all my friends to take on a new chapter in my life. The topic I chose to write is one I feel very passionate about and the single memory I can recall the most. Although breaking the 4x800 record with my team was a memorable moment and the first record I'd ever broken at my school, nothing compared to the feeling I got when I broke an individual record that was held by my own coach. I had a sense of relief and happiness, not just for myself, but my coach as well. It felt as if I didn't just break the record for the sake of me personally, but for him too. May have taken 21 years to be broken, but I'd say it sure was worth Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Personal Narrative Essay : My Greatest Adventure It took me a while to realize that I could've never imagined something like this. It was a cool morning, the sun hadn't even risen, and we had already begun the adventure of a lifetime. I would like to take the time to tell you my story, the story of my greatest adventure. It was 4:35 am when we left for Algonquin Park. We were the only ones on the road. The three hours went by quickly, and quietly. Besides the fact this adventure was my birthday present, the real reason I wanted to go was to find some moose and I did just that when we entered the Park. Slowly driving down Highway 60, we looked but had no luck. No moose for today but three more days of adventure awaits. We pulled up to the portage store at 8 am, parked the car and grabbed our bags, canoe, and walked across the Highway to an opening in the forest, where the lake becomes a river. This was the most exciting part of all, getting to step foot in the canoe! I sat in the canoe, as my dad passed me the bags. It was my job to keep the canoe balanced and prevent it from tipping. After fifteen minutes the boat had been packed, and it was now time to set off. The first few paddles were smooth, then the wind arrived. Luckily most of the wind was coming from behind us and even though the water was choppy, it couldn't have been a better day for our adventure to begin. We continued to paddle for two hours and arrived at our first portage. The portage was 250m from Ragged Lake to Smoke Lake. This portage was through a small clearing in the forest and even though it was a clearing, you needed to watch for bears and moose who roamed the woods. The first time we walked through the trail, I took my bag, the paddles, and both our lifejackets. Next, we walked back and took the bear barrel and my dad's backpack. After lugging everything to the other Lake we decided to take a small break to drink some water, and eat some sandwiches and off we went again! Next, we discovered the real beauty of Algonquin Park, the scenery. I took many pictures and soon we arrived at our second and last portage, "Devil's Staircase". This portage was given its name after, many previous campers attempted to climb this steep pathway. After 2 long trips, my father checked Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 21. Personal Narrative: My Tenth Grade English Class I have never been a loud person, and because of that fact I have always loved to read. I find comfort in curling up with a good book and will almost always take staying in reading over going out to see the latest box office hit. In my tenth–grade english class, it was the first time participation through speaking up in class would impact my grade significantly, and consequently I was forced to voice my opinion. The first time I spoke up in class I remember being very nervous to do so. I was afraid my opinion would be wrong or people would not like what I had to say, but as I spoke, I slowly saw heads nodding towards me, whispers of agreement, and finally a positive remark from my teacher for my analysis. From that moment on, I felt comfortable Get more content on HelpWriting.net
