Why e-submission & e-marking?
• Flexibility e.g. Students can submit assignments or access marks
  and feedback without being restricted by office hours
• Tracking submissions and progress (for staff and students)
• Ability to use text-matching software (Turnitin - integrated with
  Blackboard) to help identify plagiarism
• Whole process is managed in one central, secure and familiar
  system (Blackboard)
• Archiving of assignments, feedback and marks for future reference
  e.g. for external examiner access
• Provision of clear, timely and easily accessible feedback to enhance
  student learning and engagement
• Markers can re-edit their feedback comments in a document as they
  go through it

• “I feel like it's really improved not only the students' experience of
  the unit, but also my own experiences of managing workload! I put
  together some audio feedback with A graded assignments from last
  year and the impact of this seems to have been

    • less anxiety about assessment and what you need to do to pass!
    • good use of sources and referencing - very low scores came up
   for all assignments on Turnitin
    • Students seemed to need to see me less for tutorials - in fact
   some did it all electronically and did not seem to need to have a
   face to face tutorial
    • excellent unit feedback after submission”
