Transitioning To CU Analysis
Transitioning from a community college or a high–school to CU may seem overwhelming and
intimidating in the beginning. It is because the admission process looks overwhelming, the cost the
education seems intimidating, and responsibilities feel unclear. Transitioning to CU is, indeed,
challenging. However, there are series of steps to be taken to ease the process of getting enrolled in
CU. While self–motivation is the key to the successful transition, the overwhelming could be settled
by making a things–to–do list, the intimidation of the cost could be overcome by talking to financial
advisors, and unclear responsibilities could be elucidated by talking to academic advisors, students,
family, and friends.
Several things need to be done before a successful admission to CU. Starting the application seems
straightforward to do at a glance. Indeed, it is a crucial step, and there is nothing wrong to proceed
the application process. However, there will immediately be steps that may seem tedious. For
example, writing a personal statement, choosing a degree from the list of thousands of degrees,
submitting transcripts, getting a recommendation, and fulfilling other requirements. In fact, many

However, talking to a financial advisor will explore several opportunities to cover the cost of
education. The financial advisor would suggest and help to apply FAFSA that will determine the
eligibility of government grants, loan, and work–study funds. Second, the advisor would explore
other scholarship opportunities from the school and private organizations. These scholarships
require scholarship letters and essays. Therefore, preparing an excellent scholarship letter and essays
are crucial. Fortunately, CU also offers a free writing center to improve the scholarship letter and
essays. After the discussion with a financial counselor, the financial aspect could be efficiently
managed, and nervousness would be calmed

Presented by: Anvita Biswal 13202194 HTM (A)
INTRODUCTION
п‚ў Burt
and Andrea purchased Econo Lodge in 1999 in a non highway location in Boulder, Colorado. п‚ў
Located in a student residential area, Econo Lodge did not lend itself to drive–by stopovers because
of its lack of landscaping, physical amenities etc. п‚ў Employee quality and their attitudes were low.
п‚ў Maintenance and housekeeping were not prepared to provide anything more than a barely
acceptable level of guest satisfaction. п‚ў The staff they inherited constantly attracted low–life
guests. п‚ў Which is why the front office was protected by bulletproof glasses.

п‚ў But after the hotel was remodelled and repositioned, it attracted guests from universities and
other business corporations and travel writers were invited which resulted in many articles written in
newspapers and magazines.
Q2. How did they change the marketing mix to fit their new target market?
п‚ў They
targeted those people who would recognize and appreciate quality lodging and not those who were
seeking "cheap sleep". п‚ў Inviting potential guests or individuals who might influence visitor hotel
selection to launch parties, swim parties, cocktail parties and other planned events. п‚ў Targeting
supportive hospitality businesses. п‚ў Packages that supported local businesses were developed.
Q3. Would you retain the Quality Inn flag? Explain your decision.
п‚ў Yes,
they should retain the Quality Inn flag as they have worked hard to remodel and reposition a
declining hotel and earned appreciation from the townspeople and also it helped the town and the
neighbourhood. п‚ў Also the hotel was a huge success. The planning and work of Andrea and Burt
had paid off. п‚ў There is a value in the flag and if they don't retain the flag then anyone else would
acquire the brand and benefit from their hard work.

The Cu Later Lab
The Cu Later lab experiment is designed to allow you to practice lab skills in implementing and
performing a series of reactions. Specifically, four types of chemical reactions will occur: oxidation
/reduction; double replacement; single replacement; and decomposition. You will begin with a
known amount of copper metal, which, after progressing through several steps, is reproduced. In
this experiment you will observe and record the various changes such as heat, color changes, and
production that occur. This procedure is used to observe some chemical reactions of copper and its
compounds while also performing the lab appropriately as to retain the copper as much as

Cu Honor Code Analysis
Hold Safety Paramount: Engineers must prioritize the safety, health and welfare of the public and
should try to practice sustainability as often as possible. In order to do this, engineers must realize
that major engineering decisions do impact the general public's well being and they must review
their decisions to ensure that they are safe. Engineers with reasons to believe that a fellow engineer is
not following the rules stated in Canon 1 must report this person to the authorities in charge.
Service With Competence: Engineers should only work in areas where they are qualified, but they
are allowed to accept assignments outside of their areas of expertise as long as they are only
working on the portions of the jobs in which they are qualified....show more content...
Canon 3 states that engineers must always issue true statements, and code 3B states that engineers
must be truthful in all reports, statements and testimonies. This is similar to the CU Honor Code,
because the CU Honor Code was established in order to create a community of trust. In order to
follow the CU Honor Code, one cannot cheat or plagiarise. This means that students must be
honest and truthful when taking tests and doing homework. All of the work done by a student
must be their own. The CU Honor Code also relates with ASCE code 5D and 5E. Canon 5 states
that an engineer's merit speaks for their professional reputation. Code 5D states that engineers shall
not misrepresent their academic or professional qualifications. If a student cheats or plagiarizes,
they are misrepresenting their academic qualifications by turning in work that doesn't accurately
display their academic capability. Code 5E states that engineers must give credit to fellow
engineers where credit is due. Plagiarizing or copying someone else's work, robs that person from
the credit they deserve, and gives the credit to a student who doesn't deserve it. Finally, the CU
Honor Code relates to ASCE code 6A. Canon 6 states that engineers shall uphold the honor, integrity,
and dignity of the engineering profession. The point of the CU Honor Code is for the students of CU
Boulder to uphold the honor of the school. Code 6A states that engineers shall not knowingly engage
in anything dishonest or unethical. Cheating or plagiarism in any form is unethical and dishonest
because if a student turns in work with their name on it, even though the work done isn't their own,
then this student is not telling the

CU Personal Statement
CU Boulder is an institution that prides itself on its diversity and ingenuity. Much like CU, I
believe myself to be an innovator and see the world through a different lens. I've never embodied
the American dream of being a white, Protestant male with a suburban home and a white picket
fence, but I've embodied how to be Boulder–bound. I've built my confidence from the ground up,
I've gone beyond my limits to test my ability to achieve great things, my intellect has gotten me far
in my education, my intestinal fortitude has opened the doors to great opportunities, and I've
accomplished it while being a double minority. I plan to use myself as a primary resource to CU, to
continue to build on the diverse environment the University has to offer. Society has pitted
minorities against each other and taught me that to be successful I must reject those other minorities.
What I want to accomplish while attaining my degree is to build a more inclusive, diverse
community at CU while decreasing the intersectionality of the student body and expanding my
knowledge of the effects of multimedia culture on the adolescent. During my first semester of
community college I took classes that challenged my way of thinking, while learning more about
myself and how I play a role in our society as a gay Latino from a...show more content...
Having a diverse student body is no longer enough in today's world. There has to be active striving
to be inclusive, and willingness to listen and support our stories and struggles; whether that be

on black crimes," to the transgender tipping point in the media that fails to express the constant
dangers and struggles they

My Experience At The Library
Bruno Ouattara November 2013 880 390 199 Sociology 100 In November 19th, 2013, it was
raining when I came to school. Just after my English class, I was heading to the library to find a
quiet place where I could study. I saw a group of Asian's students coming out from the library, and
one of them, a girl, was holding an umbrella. So I walked straight to her and I soon as I got very
close to her, without introducing myself, I grabbed her umbrella. Surprised she didn't know what to
expect. She just dropped the umbrella in my hands, and I walked inside the library with the
umbrella on top of my head. She stood under the rain, very surprised and was looking back...show

There were also some students standing just against the wall and smoking cigarettes. Just in the
entrance of building 25, I saw a security guy passing by, and talking to students from table to table.
I think he was trying to tell them to put their phones away and do not leave them at the table
because they can be stolen. While I was getting closer and closer the girl and her friends were
trying to get together in one side and let me pass, and they were kind of slowing down because I
was running into them. But I think I didn't give too much choice to her; she released the umbrella
because she was surprised or afraid; so she didn't resist. But after she released it, she felt weird to
let me take the umbrella; I can tell in her surprising's face. Her friends walked back and all of the
sudden they started to talk in Chinese or Japanese (I don't actually know the difference) like 30
seconds after I took the umbrella and started to walk back in the library after me. The smokers
were watching the scene and one of them was laughing. They started to kind of want to follow
me inside and I didn't just walked away, instead I stopped just inside to look one more time and
see if someone was going to talk. The lady at the front desk was looking quiet and some others
students inside also. When they come in front of me, I realized they needed an answer. And that
influenced me to give up. So I

The Art Of A Pastry Chef

The Art Of A Pastry Chef
The art of the pastry chef has been around since the eighth century BC. Being a pastry chef is a
difficult job and requires a creative mind. I 've chosen this project to get a greater understanding
of the art. Pastry chefs work in varies places, bake many pastries, and work long hours. Many get
training on the job while others receive their training at a culinary school. Pastry chefs require an
eye for detail and good managing skills; they must also be great at following directions. The history
of the start of pastry chefs goes way back in time.
The Assyrians are known as the first, in the eighth century BC, to conjoin very thin layers of bread
dough with chopped nuts and honey to produce what we know as the Baklava (Made Man: History
Of The Pastry Chef). Greek seamen discovered this and loved the pastry. They brought the recipe to
Athens. Then, Greek pastry chefs discovered a way to roll the dough thinner and they created
phyllo dough. French and Italian Renaissance pastry chefs took the primary phyllo dough recipe
and perfected "puff pastries", which were filled with anything from sweetmeats to fruits, small eggs
or birds (Made Man: History Of The Pastry Chef). In the seventeenth and eighteenth century, pastry
chefs created new recipes such as Cream puffs, Eclairs, and Napoleons. Chocolate was first used to
create pastries after Spanish and Portuguese traders brought it to

Boulder Prep Analysis
Boulder Prep helps students by guiding them in the correct direction towards graduation and college.
They offer 8 week programs throughout the school year, that allows students to fully understand the
core subjects and collaborate with other classmate's that experience the same problems. These
programs, allow students to process the covered material at their own speed without feeling as
though they are pressured to be rushed through the context. Among students, Boulder Prep does not
offer many peer to peer learning strategies. Through the guidance and advice from other students,
peer to peer learning is the step towards gaining a broader knowledge.

Students are able to recognize the importance of school through the influence of each other.
Evidence of successful change can be seen through making a difference in the student's everyday life.
After the first month of testing the improvements, peer learning should have boosted up a student's
confidence and learning style. Throughout the months, students should be asked about how their
peer learning is changing their learning style, this way the school can see the beginning and end
result of student's working together. With this being said, peer to peer learning should help students
in improving their self–esteem and make them become a stronger individual. As a whole, these
improvements will have a positive impact on the previous and future community. All in all,

63cu Research Paper
The main components that make up copper are protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons are
positively charged, electrons are negatively charged, and neutrons don't have a charge. The
nucleus is at the center of the atom, and it contains protons and neutrons. Electrons are "stored" in
energy levels. Since protons have a +1 charge and neutrons don't have a charge, the nucleus is
positively charged. The two stable copper isotopes that should be describe are 63Cu and 65Cu. The
composition of 63Cu is 0.6915 (15); the composition of 65Cu is 0.3085 (15) ("Isotopes of Copper."
Wikipedia). The abundance of 63Cu is 69.17% (2); the abundance of 65Cu is 30.83% (2) ("Copper
Isotopes" – Cu Isotopes). The nucleus of any copper atom has 29 protons and electrons....show more

There are 29 electrons in the copper atom. There are 29 electrons in copper because copper has to
stay neutral, which means that there are also 29 protons. So, since electrons have a negative charge,
and protons have a positive charge, 29 negative plus 29 positive equals no charge/neutral. The
electron configuration in symbols can be translated by: the first number is the shell number, the
letter is the subshell, and the "to the power of," or superscript, is the number of electrons that are
present in the subshell. In the "s" subshell, there is 1 orbital, in the "p" subshell there are 3 orbitals,
and in "d" subshells, there are 5 orbitals ("Electron Shell." Wikipedia). Each orbital can hold a
maximum of two electrons. So, the "s" subshell can hold 2 electrons, the "p" subshell can hold 6
electrons, and the "d" subshell can hold 10 electrons. Since there are 29 electrons in copper, all of
the orbitals in the subshells will be filled, except there will be one extra "s" subshell if you use 1s2
2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 3d10 4s1. The fourth shell is the highest shell that contains electrons in copper. So,
if you were to add up 4s + 4p + 4d + 4f, it would equal 32 electrons ("Electron Shell."

Copper, Cu
Copper, Cu, is the 29th element in the periodic table and has 29 protons. Its mass number is
63.55. It is a transition metal in the middle of the periodic table. The symbol for copper is "Cu",
which comes from the Latin word cuprum, which came from the Latin word for the island of
Cyprus, where copper was found. Copper can be found as a metal in the ground. It is found in small
amounts in living things. Some mollusks and arthropods have blue blood because they have
copper in their blood. Copper may be the oldest metal in use, as ancient copper tools have been
found. Copper is used in electrical wiring, it's also what the Statue of Liberty is made of. Copper
does not corrode and is not as toxic as a metal. Copper compounds are toxic though,

Essay On Tutoring Experience
Since beginning my peer tutoring placement I have performed new and unique tasks on a daily
basis. At the start of the semester I primarily circulated the classroom explaining concepts to students
and answering their questions. As the semester progressed my activities have been refined to be
more efficient and effective at helping individual students. With the assistance of Ms. Randle I have
been able to pinpoint individual students that would benefit the most from my assistance. These
students all have unique individual needs that I try to fine–tune my assistance to accommodate. I
constantly strive to better understand each individual's learning skills.
One example of a way I accommodate a certain student is by reading and writing for him. Early in
the semester, it was noticed that this student struggled to get work done. This was not due to a lack
of understanding but instead due to issues writing down his ideas and reading the material. Ms.
Randle recommended that I focus my attention primarily on him as he needed the most one–on–one
help of all the students in the class. Additionally, it was noted that without my assistance he was in
jeopardy of failing the class.
One strength of mine that I use to my advantage when performing this task is my strong reading
skills. This...show more content...

After this I circulate the classroom seeing if students had any issues with the homework or the
worksheets they are working on. If the primary focus of that day is a working period then I will
continue to circulate and assist students with any issues. Otherwise, if the focus is a lesson day I
will sit quietly while infrequently contributing to the class discussion. Additionally, I will take notes
so I can better understand the material to teach and so that if students miss the class they can have a

Summary Of Cuisine And Culture Linda Civitello
The second chapter of the book called Cuisine and Culture by Linda Civitello, discussed the
importance of grain, grapes and olives to Greece and Rome as well as other staple foods of those
societies. One of the main discussion points within this chapter, was the history of wine. The book
discussed how the Greek god, Dionysus, encouraged drinking wine for men only and how wine
changed when the Roman God, Bacchus, took over Dionysus's role. One interesting discussion the
book featured was how Greeks believed "drinking purple wine from a purple vessel made of
[amethyst] would cause the two purples to cancel each other out and negate whatever was in the
wine that caused drunkenness" (Civitello 32). This theory of being able to drink and not get

  • 1. Transitioning To CU Analysis Transitioning from a community college or a high–school to CU may seem overwhelming and intimidating in the beginning. It is because the admission process looks overwhelming, the cost the education seems intimidating, and responsibilities feel unclear. Transitioning to CU is, indeed, challenging. However, there are series of steps to be taken to ease the process of getting enrolled in CU. While self–motivation is the key to the successful transition, the overwhelming could be settled by making a things–to–do list, the intimidation of the cost could be overcome by talking to financial advisors, and unclear responsibilities could be elucidated by talking to academic advisors, students, family, and friends. Several things need to be done before a successful admission to CU. Starting the application seems straightforward to do at a glance. Indeed, it is a crucial step, and there is nothing wrong to proceed the application process. However, there will immediately be steps that may seem tedious. For example, writing a personal statement, choosing a degree from the list of thousands of degrees, submitting transcripts, getting a recommendation, and fulfilling other requirements. In fact, many obstacles...show more content... However, talking to a financial advisor will explore several opportunities to cover the cost of education. The financial advisor would suggest and help to apply FAFSA that will determine the eligibility of government grants, loan, and work–study funds. Second, the advisor would explore other scholarship opportunities from the school and private organizations. These scholarships require scholarship letters and essays. Therefore, preparing an excellent scholarship letter and essays are crucial. Fortunately, CU also offers a free writing center to improve the scholarship letter and essays. After the discussion with a financial counselor, the financial aspect could be efficiently managed, and nervousness would be calmed Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Boulder Creek CASE– 25 BOULDER CREEK Presented by: Anvita Biswal 13202194 HTM (A) INTRODUCTION п‚ў Burt and Andrea purchased Econo Lodge in 1999 in a non highway location in Boulder, Colorado. п‚ў Located in a student residential area, Econo Lodge did not lend itself to drive–by stopovers because of its lack of landscaping, physical amenities etc. п‚ў Employee quality and their attitudes were low. п‚ў Maintenance and housekeeping were not prepared to provide anything more than a barely acceptable level of guest satisfaction. п‚ў The staff they inherited constantly attracted low–life guests. п‚ў Which is why the front office was protected by bulletproof glasses. Q2. How did they change the marketing mix to fit their new target market? п‚ў They targeted those people who would recognize and appreciate quality lodging and not those who were seeking "cheap sleep". п‚ў Inviting potential guests or individuals who might influence visitor hotel selection to launch parties, swim parties, cocktail parties and other planned events. п‚ў Targeting supportive hospitality businesses. п‚ў Packages that supported local businesses were developed. Q3. Would you retain the Quality Inn flag? Explain your decision. п‚ў Yes, they should retain the Quality Inn flag as they have worked hard to remodel and reposition a declining hotel and earned appreciation from the townspeople and also it helped the town and the neighbourhood. п‚ў Also the hotel was a huge success. The planning and work of Andrea and Burt had paid off. п‚ў There is a value in the flag and if they don't retain the flag then anyone else would acquire the brand and benefit from their hard work.

  • 5. Cu Honor Code Analysis Hold Safety Paramount: Engineers must prioritize the safety, health and welfare of the public and should try to practice sustainability as often as possible. In order to do this, engineers must realize that major engineering decisions do impact the general public's well being and they must review their decisions to ensure that they are safe. Engineers with reasons to believe that a fellow engineer is not following the rules stated in Canon 1 must report this person to the authorities in charge. Service With Competence: Engineers should only work in areas where they are qualified, but they are allowed to accept assignments outside of their areas of expertise as long as they are only working on the portions of the jobs in which they are qualified....show more content... Canon 3 states that engineers must always issue true statements, and code 3B states that engineers must be truthful in all reports, statements and testimonies. This is similar to the CU Honor Code, because the CU Honor Code was established in order to create a community of trust. In order to follow the CU Honor Code, one cannot cheat or plagiarise. This means that students must be honest and truthful when taking tests and doing homework. All of the work done by a student must be their own. The CU Honor Code also relates with ASCE code 5D and 5E. Canon 5 states that an engineer's merit speaks for their professional reputation. Code 5D states that engineers shall not misrepresent their academic or professional qualifications. If a student cheats or plagiarizes, they are misrepresenting their academic qualifications by turning in work that doesn't accurately display their academic capability. Code 5E states that engineers must give credit to fellow engineers where credit is due. Plagiarizing or copying someone else's work, robs that person from the credit they deserve, and gives the credit to a student who doesn't deserve it. Finally, the CU Honor Code relates to ASCE code 6A. Canon 6 states that engineers shall uphold the honor, integrity, and dignity of the engineering profession. The point of the CU Honor Code is for the students of CU Boulder to uphold the honor of the school. Code 6A states that engineers shall not knowingly engage in anything dishonest or unethical. Cheating or plagiarism in any form is unethical and dishonest because if a student turns in work with their name on it, even though the work done isn't their own, then this student is not telling the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. CU Personal Statement CU Boulder is an institution that prides itself on its diversity and ingenuity. Much like CU, I believe myself to be an innovator and see the world through a different lens. I've never embodied the American dream of being a white, Protestant male with a suburban home and a white picket fence, but I've embodied how to be Boulder–bound. I've built my confidence from the ground up, I've gone beyond my limits to test my ability to achieve great things, my intellect has gotten me far in my education, my intestinal fortitude has opened the doors to great opportunities, and I've accomplished it while being a double minority. I plan to use myself as a primary resource to CU, to continue to build on the diverse environment the University has to offer. Society has pitted minorities against each other and taught me that to be successful I must reject those other minorities. What I want to accomplish while attaining my degree is to build a more inclusive, diverse community at CU while decreasing the intersectionality of the student body and expanding my knowledge of the effects of multimedia culture on the adolescent. During my first semester of community college I took classes that challenged my way of thinking, while learning more about myself and how I play a role in our society as a gay Latino from a...show more content... Just after my English class, I was heading to the library to find a quiet place where I could study. I saw a group of Asian's students coming out from the library, and one of them, a girl, was holding an umbrella. So I walked straight to her and I soon as I got very close to her, without introducing myself, I grabbed her umbrella. Surprised she didn't know what to expect. There were also some students standing just against the wall and smoking cigarettes. Just in the entrance of building 25, I saw a security guy passing by, and talking to students from table to table. I think he was trying to tell them to put their phones away and do not leave them at the table because they can be stolen. While I was getting closer and closer the girl and her friends were trying to get together in one side and let me pass, and they were kind of slowing down because I was running into them. But I think I didn't give too much choice to her; she released the umbrella because she was surprised or afraid; so she didn't resist. But after she released it, she felt weird to let me take the umbrella; I can tell in her surprising's face. Her friends walked back and all of the sudden they started to talk in Chinese or Japanese (I don't actually know the difference) like 30 seconds after I took the umbrella and started to walk back in the library after me. The smokers were watching the scene and one of them was laughing. They started to kind of want to follow me inside and I didn't just walked away, instead I stopped just inside to look one more time and see if someone was going to talk. The lady at the front desk was looking quiet and some others students inside also. When they come in front of me, I realized they needed an answer. And that influenced me to give up. • 12. He started one of the most successful Mexican fast casual restaurants to date with a hefty loan from his father and an old Dolly Madison shop that had been shut down. This person is Steve Ells, born in Indianapolis, Indiana and going to high school in Boulder, Colorado, no one would think that he would make the next big thing in the Mexican restaurants being that it is nowhere close to Mexico or the culture. Nonetheless Steve always had a passion for culinary arts, as a kid his mother would give him tips on cooking, he would also watch Julia Child. In high school he would cook for friends all the time, but did not pursue any culinary dreams out of high school. He would end up going to college at the University of Colorado Boulder to major in Art History. After four years at the university he went on to enroll in the Culinary Art Institute of America. At the completion of his culinary courses he moved to San Francisco, here he would work at Stars a high end restaurant owned by Jeremiah Tower as his sous–chef. While in San Francisco Steve would be influenced to start his own restaurant, but he did not have the funds to just simply do it. So inspired by a taquiera close to his house, he moved back to Colorado in 1992 and got a loan from his father to start a fast casual restaurant to get the money to start something bigger. Little did he know that he would start what would turn out to be Chipotle. In 1992 Steve would start looking for a place to start his little burrito Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. The Art Of A Pastry Chef Mclaughlin 6 Brittany Mclaughlin Mrs. Ossman English IV 29 August 2014 The Art Of A Pastry Chef The art of the pastry chef has been around since the eighth century BC. Being a pastry chef is a difficult job and requires a creative mind. I 've chosen this project to get a greater understanding of the art. Pastry chefs work in varies places, bake many pastries, and work long hours. Many get training on the job while others receive their training at a culinary school. Pastry chefs require an eye for detail and good managing skills; they must also be great at following directions. The history of the start of pastry chefs goes way back in time. The Assyrians are known as the first, in the eighth century BC, to conjoin very thin layers of bread dough with chopped nuts and honey to produce what we know as the Baklava (Made Man: History Of The Pastry Chef). Greek seamen discovered this and loved the pastry. They brought the recipe to Athens. Then, Greek pastry chefs discovered a way to roll the dough thinner and they created phyllo dough. French and Italian Renaissance pastry chefs took the primary phyllo dough recipe and perfected "puff pastries", which were filled with anything from sweetmeats to fruits, small eggs or birds (Made Man: History Of The Pastry Chef). In the seventeenth and eighteenth century, pastry chefs created new recipes such as Cream puffs, Eclairs, and Napoleons. Chocolate was first used to create pastries after Spanish and Portuguese traders brought it to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Throughout the months, students should be asked about how their peer learning is changing their learning style, this way the school can see the beginning and end result of student's working together. • 15. 63cu Research Paper The main components that make up copper are protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons are positively charged, electrons are negatively charged, and neutrons don't have a charge. The nucleus is at the center of the atom, and it contains protons and neutrons. Electrons are "stored" in energy levels. Since protons have a +1 charge and neutrons don't have a charge, the nucleus is positively charged. The two stable copper isotopes that should be describe are 63Cu and 65Cu. The composition of 63Cu is 0.6915 (15); the composition of 65Cu is 0.3085 (15) ("Isotopes of Copper." Wikipedia). The abundance of 63Cu is 69.17% (2); the abundance of 65Cu is 30.83% (2) ("Copper Isotopes" – Cu Isotopes). The nucleus of any copper atom has 29 protons and electrons....show more content... There are 29 electrons in the copper atom. There are 29 electrons in copper because copper has to stay neutral, which means that there are also 29 protons. So, since electrons have a negative charge, and protons have a positive charge, 29 negative plus 29 positive equals no charge/neutral. The electron configuration in symbols can be translated by: the first number is the shell number, the letter is the subshell, and the "to the power of," or superscript, is the number of electrons that are present in the subshell. In the "s" subshell, there is 1 orbital, in the "p" subshell there are 3 orbitals, and in "d" subshells, there are 5 orbitals ("Electron Shell." Wikipedia). Each orbital can hold a maximum of two electrons. So, the "s" subshell can hold 2 electrons, the "p" subshell can hold 6 electrons, and the "d" subshell can hold 10 electrons. Since there are 29 electrons in copper, all of the orbitals in the subshells will be filled, except there will be one extra "s" subshell if you use 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 3d10 4s1. The fourth shell is the highest shell that contains electrons in copper. So, if you were to add up 4s + 4p + 4d + 4f, it would equal 32 electrons ("Electron Shell." The symbol for copper is "Cu", which comes from the Latin word cuprum, which came from the Latin word for the island of Cyprus, where copper was found. Copper can be found as a metal in the ground. It is found in small amounts in living things. Some mollusks and arthropods have blue blood because they have copper in their blood. Copper may be the oldest metal in use, as ancient copper tools have been found. Copper is used in electrical wiring, it's also what the Statue of Liberty is made of. At the start of the semester I primarily circulated the classroom explaining concepts to students and answering their questions. As the semester progressed my activities have been refined to be more efficient and effective at helping individual students. With the assistance of Ms. Randle I have been able to pinpoint individual students that would benefit the most from my assistance. These students all have unique individual needs that I try to fine–tune my assistance to accommodate. I constantly strive to better understand each individual's learning skills. One example of a way I accommodate a certain student is by reading and writing for him. Early in the semester, it was noticed that this student struggled to get work done. This was not due to a lack of understanding but instead due to issues writing down his ideas and reading the material. Ms. Randle recommended that I focus my attention primarily on him as he needed the most one–on–one help of all the students in the class. Additionally, it was noted that without my assistance he was in jeopardy of failing the class. One strength of mine that I use to my advantage when performing this task is my strong reading skills.
