Do not write everything
Even if you could write everything, it
would result in wasted words and time.
Make point from notes which look for the
key ideas.

Develop a set of abbreviations that make
sense to you - it saves valuable writing time.

Try to focus on getting

of all, look for the central
ideas and concepts of

However, this may not always be possible
or even a good thing because the
presenter's words may be more precise
and meaningful than your own way of
expressing things

Listen for presenter's cues that inform you
that important material is coming.

As soon as you can after the class,
