A tornado is a powerful, twisting wind storm that is one of the most destructive storms on Earth. It forms as a long, funnel-shaped cloud that comes down from the sky, with winds whirling around extremely fast, able to reach speeds over 900 km/hr. While most tornadoes form along the boundary between cool, dry air and warm, humid air, weather scientists are unable to predict exactly when or where tornadoes will occur, but fortunately they are usually not very big and do not last long.
