Background
Retail/Wholesale Sales has
engaged “Network Solutions”
consulting firm to install a
fully switched network in
their new facility.      Their
business is comprised of
walk-in; catalog; internet;
phone; and email sales which
requires their new facility to
have a fast and reliable
network in order for them to
provide the best customer
service achievable.
Justification

Internet sales have been rapidly increasing over the past several
years. Upon completion of this project, Retail/Wholesale Sales
will have expanded their market and internet sales which in turn
will produce higher revenue.

Description

Retail/Wholesale Sales has just completed construction of their latest
facility in Atlanta, Georgia. Their company is based on various merchandise
sales. The purpose of this project is to provide a highly reliable Local Area
Network (LAN), a dependable Wide Area Network (WAN), as well as a
secure wireless network. There are a total of 3 floors and 100 workstations
to be configured which will allow the company room for 10% future growth.

A complete network along with all hardware and software, as well as a
corporate email server will be fully operational upon completion of this
project. Furthermore, high quality equipment is to be installed to
provide fast and secure connection as well as fewer needs for future
upgrades.
Team

Luis Herrera is the designated project manager. He has full
authority in all aspects of this project including the hiring and
firing of all team members. Luis has hand-picked an elite team of
highly qualified individuals whom include Sabrina
Cummings, Celsa Morales, and Arnaldo Lopez. Any changes in
project
planning or purchases in excess of $200 must be submitted to
Mr. Herrera for prior authorization.
Deliverables

 Design a fully switched network
 Install a secure wireless network
 Complete a full installation of operating systems and
           application software for all workstations
 Setup a corporate email server
 Allow for 10% future growth
 Provide training for use of all computers, printers, networks
           and security procedures
 Reduce the need for constant repairs and upgrades by installing
           high quality equipment
Success Criteria

 Generate a 20% increase in revenue with future sales
 Extra workstations will allow the company room for future
         expansion
 Increase efficiency with a highly reliable network
Time & Cost Estimate

This project is to be completed within 5 weeks. At the end of the 5 week period,
the network will be 100% operational.

           -Begin Date: Monday, August 01, 2011 (8:00 am)
           -End Date: Friday, September 05, 2011 (4:00 pm)

The estimated cost of this project is $180,000. This includes a complete wired
network of 3 floors, with a total of 90 desktops, 10 laptops, 15 printers, and
wireless access points on all 3 floors. All workstations will have department
specific software preinstalled. Specifications for all major components will be
provided along with a training plan on the use of the network.

In addition, network security procedures and recommendations, a disaster
recovery plan, and a network training plan will be supplied for your convenience.
Assumptions

 Client to provide Network Solutions with complete building access at all times
 Access to standard office equipment (phone, copiers, fax) is to be supplied
 Access to a secured room is essential for equipment storage during the project
 Retail/Wholesale Sales must meet all building and electrical requirements prior to the
              project start date
 Customer must delegate a key point of contact for all issues of this project whom is to be
              available at all times
 Network and Cabling Contractors to furnish their own tools and testing equipment
 Network Solutions will not be held liable for any delays due to uncontrollable circumstances
or changes to this SOW
 Additional charges may apply for any pre-authorized changes not covered in this SOW
 Payment is due in full within 30 days upon project completion sign-off

*Note: Any items not listed in this SOW are considered to be out of scope for this project. Prior approval and
authorization is required for out of scope items and will be handled through Change Requests or as a separate
SOW.
Constraints

 Strict evaluation of every supplier is utilized to prevent shipping
          delays
 Use of modern technology is used to keep track of shipping
          statuses
 An elite team of IT experts have been chosen to avoid rework
 Extensive research shows that extreme weather constraints are
          unlikely during project term
