Youth Work Apprenticeships Level 3
1.
2. Level 3 - Diploma in Youth Work
Practice
Have a heart for young people? Want to help
young people be positively impacted? If so, the
Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice will help
you!
Why take the Level 3 Diploma in
Youth Work Practice?
Youth Work Qualifications are about helping young
people fulfil their potential through personal and social
development. It is about providing young people with
challenges and new experiences, but allowing them to be
creative, active and have fun which is all part of an informal
education that helps young people to develop their own voice and
identity.
What you’ll be doing?
In Youth Work/Informal Education, no two days of work will be the same. Every young person has a
unique situation, so you could be doing all sorts: offering counselling and support, developing projects
that tackle issues, or organising activities like sports and drama. There’s also an administrative side to
youth work. You might help manage volunteers or part-time staff, help apply for grants, keep records
of your work, and network with other professionals including social workers, teachers and probation
officers.
What skills do you need?
You’ll need to be able to come up with creative ways to reach young people, and be able to build
relationships with them. You will need to be good at working in a team and working with others. You’ll
need to be lively, confident and interested in learning something new every-day.
Where will this qualification take you?
On successful completion of the course you will have gained a Diploma in Youth Work Practice (Level 3),
and you will also gain a Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health and Level 2
Functional Skills English and Maths.
This Apprenticeship will mean you have the qualifications to become a Youth Support Worker.
