While social media was once niche, platforms like Facebook and smartphones have led to its widespread adoption over the past decade. Social media offers advantages like increased contacts and improved marketing, but also disadvantages such as stress, eye strain, and distraction from other tasks. Moderation of social media use is important to manage these disadvantages.

along when things really started to change.

• Stop using technology at least an hour before
bedtime.
• Try and limit your social media usage throughout
the day.
• If you have children, monitor the content they are
accessing.
• Limit the number of social networks you use to only
those most relevant.
