3. INTRODUCTION
Here we are going to talk about the PRINCE SIDDHARTHA. The young age
of Lord Buddha.
4. BIRTH OF PRINCE SIDDHARTHA
Prince Siddhartha was born during the full moon of
Visakha in the year 624 BCE. On the day of his birth, Queen
Sirimahamaya was traveling from Gabilabahd to
Devadaha, observing the custom of traveling to her fathers
house to give birth to her son
As soon as the Bodhisatta was born, he walked seven steps
forward. At the seventh step, he raised his right hand and
exclaimed, “I am the wisest one in the world. This is my
last birth”.
5. NAMING CEREMONY
King Suddhodana had a naming
ceremony for his five-day old son.
He invited a total of 108 relatives,
wise men, and Brahmins. Eight
Brahmins performed the
ceremony and named the prince
'Siddhartha', meaning "wish
fulfilled", a person who has
accomplished his goals. Seven of
the Brahmins said that the prince
will be a great king if he wanted
to rule, or the Prince would
renounce the throne and become
a Buddha. Kondanya, the
youngest Brahmin, said the
prince will definitely be the next
Buddha.
6. THE PRINCE’S WEDDING
When Prince Siddhartha
reached the age of sixteen,
King Suddhodana arranged
for him to marry his cousin,
Princess Yasodara.
7. THE FLOUR SIGNS
King Suddhodana was certain that the marriage
would ensure that Prince Siddhartha would be his
successor. When the prince turned twenty nine, he
started to get bored with his life and he made a
journey to the city. while on the road he
encountered an old man, a sick man, a corpse and
an ascetic. Moved with compassion for the first three,
he realized that life was subject to old age, disease
and death. However, the ascetic signified the
possibility of release from the conditions of the other
three.
8. RENUNCIATION
After witnessing the four
signs in the city, Prince
Siddhartha decided to
become an ascetic despite
his family obligations.
After waking in the middle
of the night, he looked
around at all the things he
had. Although he was
surrounded by beauty he was
no longer pleased by these
things but saw uncertainty
there instead.
9. THE GREAT FLIGHT
Deciding to leave the palace to become an ascetic, the
prince called his faithful servant Channa to get
his horse Kanthaka ready for him. He went to say
goodbye to his wife and his son Rahula without
waking them up. He made a vow to himself that he
will return when he finds the answers to what he was
looking for. The moon was full on the night the prince
left.
10. ASCETICISM
Siddhattha went in search of teachers skilled in mystical
knowledge. He first went to Alara Kalama who declared
the “dimension of nothingness” as his Truth. He also
went to Uddaka Ramaputta who declaired the
“dimension of neither perception nor non-
perception” as his Truth. Seeing that their teaching did
not lead to true Awakening and Unbinding, Siddhattha left
them.
He then decided to practice by himself with the five
ascetics, Kondanya, Vappa, Bhaddiya, Mahanama and
Assana. He endured all forms of austerity including
abstaining from food and water.
11. It is the end of the Prince Siddharatha and then world
call as LOAD BUDDHA. So Prince Siddhartha was the
young age of the LOAD BUDDHA. After he found the
correct way of BUDDHISM people found the greatest
religion of the world.
