1. Public Infrastructure
Improvement in public infrastructure can be a big solution for improving the satisfaction level
for the life, at least in those nations which falls in the middle income group.
In India we all are ambitious to grow and achieve a particular level of financial status in life. For
sure there is something like growth ambition in all of us, but I feel a bit of psychological reasons
and a lot of economic implications behind it.
We know that we don’t have the best of public infra available in India, Here we are not talking
about sectors like Airways and others which are on the upper band of the infra sector but
things like basic amenities education and some of the other things which are which are at the
lower part of the band and impact the overall life and ambitions of a common man and that’s is
where his ambitions about getting into the top notch of the society(in terms of financial and
other clouts) where he/she will be able to negate the lack of public infra in his/her life. This is
probably one of the areas which give a push to the evils of the society.
For example we can say that if better quality if education at an affordable price in government
schools and colleges than people would not like to send their children in expensive private
schools and as we know that private education is expensive the person would like to earn by
any mean even if it is wrong. Here I am not talking about the hardcore crimes rather the smaller
cats like bribery at smalls scale etc. and that ultimately leads to dissatisfaction in life.
A basic amenity like transportation also plays a role in people ambitions for growth in modern
economies. If transportations like Delhi Metro would be in all of the parts of nation the life
would be more satisfying and people would pay more attention on living life rather than trying
to find out the means to earn more and more and get rid of this lower income stratum for
society. I am sure m the availability of a better infrastructure at the lower end of the society
will even have implication on health and mental state of the society and Human Development
will be better than ever not only in India rather any part of the nation.
Now the question raised about the cost of building and maintaining the infrastructure is to be
answered which I think and easy one, Cost of building infrastructure is one time cost and the
infra about which we are talking (infra at the lower end of the society) does not take much of
the real cost to maintain because it will always be employment intensive in nature (unlike
maintaining big size infra like airports).

2. Here we must not forget the basic which says that we have to talk more about the
development of basic infrastructure which impacts the life of a common man. In this we can
include basic transportation, education, public parks and even cleaner public utilities.
