no additional information given PART 2, EXERCISE A - Outcrop traces from stratum contours The map gives stratum contours on the top of a bed. 1. Use the stratum contours to determine whether the structure represented on the map is an anticline, syncline, plunging anticline, etc. Neatly label the structure on the top of the map! 2. Use the stratum contours to draw the outcrop trace of the top of this bed. 3. The bottom of the bed crops out at point P (elevation =500 ). Assume that the bottom of the bed has the same shape as the top of the bed. Thus, stratum contours on the bottom of the bed must have exactly the same shape as those on the top of the bed, although they will of course have different absolute values (different numbers relating to different elevations). Using the information on where the bottom of the bed crops out (point P), determine appropriate elevation values to relabel the stratum contours so that they conform with the bottom of the bed. Then, use the stratum contours on the bottom of the bed to draw the outcrop trace of the bottom of this bed. 4. Shade the portion of the map where this unit will outcrop (color in the region between the outcrop traces for the top and bottom of the bed).Structure Comographic Contours (m) Rivers 0 1000m.
