BEFORE THEIR ARRIVAL ?
The Celts were one the first people to ever live in Britain, being the
most powerful people in central and northern Europe from around
750 BC to 12 BC.

4. HOW DID THE ROMANS
ENTERED INTO BRITAIN ?
 Julius Caesar first went to Britain in August 55 BC.
 In 54 B.C Caesar again invaded Britain.
 The actual Roman Invasion of Britain took place about a century
later.

5. HOW DID THEY ROMANIZED
THE ISLAND ?
In the first invasion, they won several battles against the
Celtic tribes.
They Romanized the Island by their activities, habits and
lifestyle.

6. CULTURE & RELIGION
 In the new Roman towns, Britons
started to live like Romans.
 People followed Roman clothes and
went to the theatre and the baths.
 They built temples and spread the
Christianity.

Many bridges and forts were built.
