I listento a radio show for an hour by laurenlaverne called
Monday Motivationwhere shes plays three listnerselected tunesto
get the weekgoing.
ratio of speech or other audio to music
(How much time was given to music/general
speech/ news & Weather etc.)
Out of the one hour I listen to most of it was
just the music and had talk time after the
song is finished which lasted about 40sec-
60sec.some talks did were a bit longer such
as 160 seconds and some were really short
like 14 seconds. There was only one news
update which lasted 3 minutes talking about
popular news around the world.
branding and identification (How many times
do you hear the station name/logo/jingle)
The jingles were the ones that kept repeating
out all them; in total 8 times out 1 hour.
Usually came after a song was finished
indicating the next song is coming up. Most
of the time it’s a person talking and
sometimes it’s a jingle. The brand only came
4 times if you don’t count the jingle when in
talk time mentions to check on iPlayer, our
website and such.
Was the content chosen for aesthetic reasons The theme of that radio show was called
Monday motivators so the song was
appropriate to pick you in the morning to the
afternoon. The style of music was upbeat not
too much the tone was relaxing but not like
jazz relaxing. Indie rock
Was it suitable for its intended target
audience
I think it is suitable for the target audience as
the only people who are awake at that time
are people with jobs that in the morning and
students. And the tone and songs is
appropriate for that time and can appeal to
people. Some songs are recognisable and
most song younger people might not heard
before. They don’t play the top songs since
this is BBC radio 6.
3. Presenters style:
Personality
Anonymous
Lauren Laverne is a great person she has a
very nice personality always happy and
upbeat perfect for her radio show and she
talks like regular people and understands
things that people do.so she’s talks and jokes
about things especially in Britain and in pop
culture and sometimes talks about the news
or weather. Also she is up to date and getting
people connected like mentioning the holiday
that passed and talking about Halloween.
vocal delivery:
conversational
informative
She talks very clear with some slang to
connect with people but also talks so
everyone can understand. She’s very
conversational with little chats about the
songs and such. Also she’s is informative
when it comes to news or weather

Discuss why you made the choices above
Classical-The reason why I have chosen these songs are because they all fit in the classical
instruments section all using sound instead of a voice. The songs are all really old so the
target audience are for older people who have heard of these songs back in the day. But these
songs have been used in various places such as school and film. Students studying music
would have had to hear of theses and even regular people from school and films, for example
heart of courage and symphony No 5:1.
Indie Rock-The reason why I chose these songs for indie rock because of the context of them
usually indie rock the context is something sad or upbeat. Also these songs most teenagers
wouldn’t have heard of it so the target audience is mostly for older people when these songs
were pretty popular In the 80’s and 90’s. But the target audience is also for younger teens as
the songs aren’t totally unheard some are pretty popular to people now.

Kids (6-11) Girls-The reason I chose these songs is because these are popular songs that you
hear every day in culture today particularly little girls aged 6 to 11 listen to a lot of pop songs
like these. Because they are used in a lot TV shows and movie they watch and the songs are
specifically targeted to that audience they listen to it. These are all very popular songs today
so their recurrent and have reached to people globally as even I know most of these songs
just from recurrent of them. These songs are easy and catchy to understand so obvious why
little girl relate them because they’re easy to follow and catchy.
Middle Aged Adults-The reason why I have chosen these songs for middle aged adults is
because they are popular songs back when they were teenagers. Mostly these songs are for
people in the 70’s and 80’s which is middle aged adults I think today so these songs will
relate to them and be very popular among that target audience. So these songs are from the
past they are not new so they’re kind of classics and became very popular even today. I have
heard most of these songs and like most them and so do other people my age as they have
become popular songs that have been repeated over the years in movies and such.

Discuss why you made the choices above
Hospital- The reason why I have chosen these songs for the hospital is because they are
upbeat, soothing and relaxing songs which people need in a hospital but obviously I’m not
going to have songs about death or some sort. I think this fits into the target audience patients
and visitors both not wanting to hear loud music. Most of the music are from theses last 3
years some from the past but still all generally popular. Some are unknown but still I think
you don’t need popular songs I think any song will do as long if it’s happy and suitable for
the hospital.
7. Elevator-Hotel-The reason why I have chosen these songs is because they are pretty catchy
songs and all popular. People will hear this in the background of the place not too louds but
loud enough for them to hear and enjoy at wait at in an elevator or at reception.
