Argumentative Essay On Metal Music
Metal music: Noise pollution of today Metal music is a genre of rock music that developed in the late
sixties and early seventies. It is characterized by its loud distorted guitars, dense bass and drum sound
and vigorous vocals. Because of its different and a bit aggressive sound, metal music is not everyone s
cup of tea. Sadly, metal community is often faced with a lot of stereotypical opinions. The most
widespread stereotypical opinion is that all metal songs are about the devil and hell. One more
stereotypical opinion is that all metal songs are just pointless screaming. All these stereotypes are
wrong because metal music has a very wide range of lyrical themes and, next to usual loud songs,
there are also some very nice and emotional ballads. Only problem with metal music is the fact that
this kind of music is often associated with drugs, alcohol and violence. It is true that some metal fans
consume drugs and alcohol, but that does not mean that all fans of metal music should be categorized
as drug addicts and alcoholics because those people s addiction is a result of their bad choices and it
has nothing to do with the music they listen to. Talking about violence is pointless because if you
compare a metal concert with a football game you will see that metal fans ... Show more content on

Everyone is happy to see you no matter what is your skin color, religion or age. That is very nice and
it shows that metal fans are actually very nice people. Another good thing about metal music is the
fact that it is a source of energy, relaxation, comfort and inspiration. Last but not the least important
thing is the research that shows that there is a strong link between heavy metal and high intelligence.
That research proves that metal music has meaning and that it is not just some random

Summary Of So Much Water So Close To Home
Intro:
Raymond Carver s hypo short story So Much Water So Close to Home was published in 2003 set
within the late American 1970 s, during the time when there was mass hysteria of serial killings.
Carver s plot used the hysteria of the 1970 s to set up the theme of serial killings within America.
Juxtaposingly, Ray Lawrence adapted Carver s short story in [2006] and [transformed] it into the
hyper Australian gothic film Jindabyne. Lawrence adaption of the hypotext focuses on the theme of
Aboriginal treatment and the beliefs of the aboriginal treatment. The benefits of adaptation studies lies
within their ability to highlight changing societal ideas, attitudes and values.
Context:
Raymond Carver s hypo short story So Much Water So Close to Home was made in 2003 set within
the late American 1970 s, during the time when there was mass hysteria of serial killings. By the lack
of detail and the objective narration of Claire s emotions within the story, Carver s short story had
delved into the reader s mind and effectively positioned the reader to create the tension and suspense
from the reader s own interpretation of the text. Carver s lack of detail lures the reader into asking
questions that can never be answered, such as who was the killer? Why did Stuart go far away to fish?
The lack of of detail tempting the reader to ask questions plus the disconnection of Claire s emotions
allows the story to build suspense as well as have a unique disjointed atmosphere to the story.

Essay on The Swastika in MAUS
The Swastika in MAUS
The image of the swastika pervades Arthur Spiegelman s graphic novel MAUS. In a work where so
much of the Holocaust has been changed in some way after all, there are no humans in this version,
only cats, mice, dogs, and pigs we must wonder why Spiegelman chooses to retain this well known
emblem. To remove it entirely or replace it with another, invented symbol would completely disorient
the reader; but some might claim that this is the effect at which Spiegelman is aiming. I believe it is
not. Rather, Spiegelman uses the swastika to subtly remind the reader that while the guise in which
events are presented may be somewhat unfamiliar, the novel is still a narrative of the Holocaust.
The swastika, it has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But these changes help to make it more stern, more authoritarian, more evil a testament to Spiegelman
s ability to adapt this already emotionally loaded symbol.
It is with the coming of the swastika that the graphic novel becomes dark . I mean this in two ways.
First, the first chapter of the novel is rather light in its message, focusing on the beginning of the
relationship between Vladek and Anja. The swastika first appears on the frontispiece to the second
chapter, ironically titled The Honeymoon . After this point, the totalitarianism begins. The presence of
the swastika is strongest at the first time Vladek sees it. He states, on first seeing it, It was the
beginning of 1938 before the war hanging high in the center of town, it was a Nazi flag. Here was the
first time I saw, with my own eyes, the swastika. On the next page, the swastika becomes detached
from the flag and floats like an ominous moon on the horizon behind the scene of a pogrom.
Spiegelman here is milking the emotive power of the swastika for all that it is worth.
But perhaps the most interesting use of the swastika in MAUS is to be found towards the end of the
book. Anja and Vladek are attempting to hide when they come to a crossroads, and the roads meet in
the form of a swastika. Vladek tells Art: Anja and I didn t have where to go. We walked in the
direction of Sosnowiec but where to go?! It was nowhere we had

Streetcar Named Desire Dishonest
Deceit is often embodied in particular characters in various works of literature. A character can have
selfish motives for lying or they can lie out of compassion. In A Streetcar Named Desire, Stella and
Blanche both lie to protect themselves and allow them to have a happy life. In Extremely Loud and
Incredibly Close, Oskar and his grandfather Thomas Schell lie to protect the ones they care about.
Both works show dishonest characters developing in different situations that shown no intent for spite
but rather concern for themselves or a loved one. In A Streetcar Named Desire, Blanche first comes
across to the audience as a wealthy high maintenance aristocrat whom has class. As the story grows
deeper the truth about Blanche s past is revealed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

first and true love Anna who was the older sister of his later wife and he lost all of his ability to speak.
He even talks about his marriage despite him never truly loving his wife. Thomas did greatly care for

When she is finally all caught up with her current life she shows the pages to Thomas who is excited

Criminal Behavior Analysis
The ways in which offenders think about their potential actions are all diverse. This varied nature can
stem from the characteristics of the criminal being inherently different. However, the actual crime
commission can play a role in how offenders think about crime. This same thought process is true for
how an offender makes the decision to engage in criminal activity. There are countless variables and
factors that are moving and connected at any given time, that can result in the engagement of criminal
behavior and/or activity. Therefore, it is imperative that we understand the complex thought processes
that offenders participate in, with this knowledge we learn how to better protect society, as well as
how to prevent further crime from occurring. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For those offenders that are found guilty, the statement above also seems even more bizarre. However,
as we have learned this half of the semester, an often used method by white collar criminals in their
decision making process, as well as their own personal thought process about their crime, often times
can center around varied thoughts of deniability. Benson (1985), states that normally with white collar
crimes there is not necessarily a lengthy search of who committed the crime, the primary focus is why.
However, a great deal of the offenders use some tactic of deniability to describe their decision making
process during the commission of their crimes. For example, some offenders deny that the person they
embezzled from had enough money as it is, therefore denial of a victim, which allowed the
continuance of criminal behavior, activity, and obviously thinking patterns. The deniability aspect can
branch further into allowing the offender to not feel shame for his or her actions, which is why they
felt secure in committing the crime in the first place. Also, they did not believe that there was actually
a victim, for example a top executive stealing millions from customers. The theme of deniability is
vast, and covers a tremendous amount of irrational thoughts and neutralizations, and from what I
gathered from the literature, allows the offender to build a positive

Vaccination Is The Most Important Factor
Taylor Gowen
Professor Cynthia Walton
College Comp I
04 November 2014
Vaccines Immunization is defined as the process of giving immunity to prevent infectious diseases by
artificial methods (The Hutchinson Unabridged Encyclopedia). Statistics show that vaccines prevent
more than 2.5 million child deaths per year (Davey, et al 5). These deaths typically occur in children
under the age of 5. Immunizations are arguably one of the most important benefits of modern
medicine offered in our country. Vaccines are given to prevent a serious disease or illness. They are
generally only given to healthy people to help boost immunity (Sanford, S52). Without vaccines
diseases such as measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), polio (IPV or OPV), diphtheria tetanus and
acellular pertussis (DTaP), Haemophilus Influenzae type b (HIB) and Hepatitis (HEP A, B, C) would
still be prevalent (Sanford, S61). Within the 21st century, there have been many positive changes
occurring throughout our world. Vaccination is the most important factor in reduction of deaths or
serious diseases in children under the age of 5 (Kennedy, 1). Controversy remains if whether the risk
of side effects from the vaccines, outweigh the risk of contracting the disease. Vaccinations have
proven to be an effective method of preventing serious diseases, which are the cause of many
childhood illnesses that often result in fatality (Kennedy, 1). Understanding the importance of vaccines
is crucial. Vaccines are not only

Reinhold Niebhur s Views On Original Sin
Reinhold Niebhur s views on Original sin fall in line with my own actually; I do believe that man is
inherently evil with power to do good. As much of a blessing that free will is, I believe it to also be a
curse because nothing good comes free. With the freedom to make our decisions comes the
responsibilty to not only know but also to understand the effects of them. Every action has a reaction,
and sin is the reaction to free will. Niebuhr holds that man is responsible for his unintentional sins,
even if there was no malice. Niebuhr argues through Pauline teachings that sin is essential; especially
with man s tendency for self glorification. Pauline teachings indicate that human sin is an inevitable
defect derived from the sin of the first man . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is easily seen because humans are faulty beings, who often fall into error even with good
intentions. Our faulty minds and free will can easily fll prey deception and misinterpretation of what
we think we saw with ignorance and imagination filling the gaps, and no matter what level of mental
fortitude, sense of morality, or innate holiness man possesses. Man still falls subject to deception. If
our minds, which are factors in our free will, can be subjected to manipulation, it is not bizarre to
claim that man sins unintentionally and is responsible to correct its actions.
Man s biggest flaw is its weakness in the face of temptation because temptation also lies in its heart.
Man s free will is inherently corrupted by the temptations of life and the world. While free will pushed
man s creativity to what seems to be a limitless boundary, it has also played a part in man s own
undoing. Man s undoing lies in their ego and desire for self gratification and self glorification. They
constantly strive to expand their presence and knowledge so much so that it seems to know no bounds.
However even with man s ambition it is all subject to God s

Sun Sin Far Comparative Essay
Many authors take from their lives and incorporate it into their writings, whether on purpose or
subconsciously. Through their introductory biographies, and their work, it s apparent to see that Sun
Sin Far, Jack London, and Joel Chandler Harris each have similarities within their lives and stories,
and a few differences. They also all share an overarching theme of adaptation to new surroundings
which is shown in each short story. Sui Sin Far is very similar to her character Sarah in Mrs. Spring
Frangrance . Both were born to parents who were Americanized and accepted that their children did
not follow the typical traditional Chinese customs that they may have grown up with. Like all of her
main characters, Sui Sin Far was an immigrant, although ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to her introduction, Far was forced to drop out of school with her siblings and sell their
father s landscape paintings and Far s crotchet creations. I believe she chose to show successful
immigrants because it portrayed them in a better light than the typical impoverished immigrants in
many of the writings around that time. Her story contributes to the theme of adaptation because her
characters routinely struggle with Americanization, also known as adapting to American culture, while
wanting to maintain a sense of their Chinese identity. In the end, she seems to support
Americanization, by having Sarah s parents allow her to marry for love instead of the traditional
arranged marriage. Jack London s characters all had a sense of contentment and optimism. In To Build
a Fire , the main character is always optimistic about being able to get to camp, and is never fearful of
death until the very end when death in inevitable, despite the dog s fearfulness throughout the story.
Similarly, in The Law of Life , the character is content with the life that he s lived, and calmly accepts
death as a part of life he must experience. This contrasts to London s real life, which he was
notoriously unhappy, but one could argue that he was content with the idea of death through his

Films Starwars.Com . Starwars.Com, 2017, http://www.starwars.com/films.
Star Wars is series of the fantastic films that depict the political tensions and wars among the
representatives of different planets in the distant galaxy. The films include a number of positive heroes
and charismatic anti heroes, such as Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker) and Kylo Ren (Ben Solo). Both
personages have a number of similarities and can be described as the typical Byronic characters.
Highly ambitious Anakin Skywalker, who was expected to become a powerful Jedi, has joined the
dark side and become a villain. Being inspired by the example of Darth Vader, the son of Han Solo
and Leia Organa has decided to follow the path of his grandfather.
Kokdemir, Zuhal Yeniceri et al. An Existential Alliance of Byronic and Lilithian Heroes . International

The current article discusses the typical features of the Byronic hero. Also, it proposes another
concept, the Lilithian personage, who is a female version of the Byronic hero. According to Kokdemir,
both Byronic and Lilithian heroes are the archetypical images that rooted in the ancient myths. The
main characteristic of these personages is the non conformist attitude to the social standards.
Therefore, the Byronic hero deviates from the typical personages, embracing the unique combination

The Political Factions, By Thomas Paine And James Chalmers
¬Though not entirely representative of their political factions, Thomas Paine and James Chalmers are
major literary figures in describing loyalist and anti loyalist sentiments in pre revolutionary America.
While Thomas Paine argued for America s independence, James Chalmers counters the idea by
proposing some of the possible negative consequences as well as down playing the perceived
necessity of declaring independence. The major points of contention in both of their arguments deal
heavily with the outcome of the French and Indian War (Seven Years War) including the government
actions that were imposed upon the American colonies as a result. By examining the way in which
they interpreted these events, one can gain insight into their contrasting political and philosophical
ideologies of pre revolutionary America. Thomas Paine was a British born citizen of Pennsylvania
whose formal education ended at only thirteen years old, but he chose to educate himself in his free
time. He met Benjamin Franklin who then persuaded him to move to the colonies. He introduced his
views of an independent Continent very shortly before the American Revolution, which heavily
influenced many middle of the road colonists. Common Sense is arguably his most influential work,
and it was decidedly written in such a manner that the common folk could comprehend. In his famous
pamphlet, he writes about government as a necessary evil, state of nature, the problems of monarchial
systems of government, the

Family as defined by Webster s College Dictionary can be one of many different people. Family can

people who are not blood related that share that common bond (Webster 475). My definition of family
is similar to Webster s, but I feel that there is more to it than just being a blood relative or close friend.

There are four different relationships portrayed in this writing. There is the granddaughter and
grandfather, father and daughter, mother and daughter, and a new bond between the granddaughter,
Lucy, and her beau, Steve. Although there is definite conflict between the grandfather and both his
granddaughter and his daughter, you can still see the elements of family portrayed in their actions and
beliefs. The granddaughter is ready to break free from her current main family and start a new family
of her own. This causes her grandfather to resent her, possibly due to the empty nest feeling since she
is the last one to leave the house and be married. This can be seen when he says to his daughter, She s
the last. Can t we keep her a bit longer? (Lessing 20). This shows the strong love necessary to have
that true family in a household. The mother knows that another step in her job is done and that it is
time to let go. The daughter is showing her defiance and desire to be a grown woman, to take that next
step in her life. Although she is bitter with her grandfather in the beginning of the story, she shows her
true love for her grandfather when the story portrays her crying as the grandfather finally lets go,

Examples Of Motivation In Beowulf
Beowulf s Motivation
(An educational research on why Beowulf did what he did) Beowulf was the first example of an epic
hero. Beowulf was a poem that some scholars have suggested was made at the end of the 10th century
(Harrison, Beowulf). The question of why Beowulf does things he does always comes into play. The
story of Beowulf starts off when he is in Geatland and hears that the Danes are being attacked by a
monster. Beowulf sails to Denmark to help them. It should be noted that the Geats and Danes are not
friendly towards each other. Beowulf defeats both monsters that attack Heorot Hall and returns to
Geatland to become king. After an honorable fifty year reign a dragon starts attacking Geatland. He
kills the dragon, but is mortally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why did he sail across the ocean just to help the Danes? Was it all really because he just wanted to do
his duty, or was it something more? Some say that Beowulf had an eagerness for glory and fame
(Snyder, Beowulf Themes). But then why did Beowulf do his duty. Some may say that one can not be
glorious until they have done their duty. Beowulf s father even said that his glory is too great to forget
(1221). Some might say that the only reason Beowulf traveled to Denmark and risked his life
defeating Grendel and Grendel s mother was so he could do his duty and get all of the glory. Bigger
than just doing his duty, Beowulf s motivation for saving The Danes from Grendel and his mother was
to become

The Emotional Scene In Act IV Scene IV, By William...
Many seem to see Act IV Scene IV as lighthearted and simple or even boring, but this scene is a truly
actually very complex scene due to some and carries some dark undertones. The spring setting directly
contrasts thewith tense discussions and dark themes of death and decay. This comes to a head when
Polixenes reveals himself, sentencing the Old Shepard to death, and Perdita to be horribly disfigured.
Throughout the scene, Polixenes actually seems like a mirror for Leontes s actions in the first three
acts. Overall, this scene is definitely more than meets the eye.
Act IV Scene IV, also known as the pastoral scene, opens with Florizel and Perdita, two young lovers,
talking. Florizel is excited for the sheep shearing festival they will be ... Show more content on

This entire speech goes against the tone of the scene, and of the last two acts in general. The king, it
seems, has taken a page right out of Leontes book; in a fit of rage, he sentences several people to cruel
fates. Autolycus takes this theme of death to the extreme when he tries to scam the Old Shepherd and
the Clown. He mentions how the Clown will allegedly be flayed and tortured in other horrible ways.
This scares the Shepherd and Clown so much that they gladly pay the thief to take them to

The Gilded Six Bits
When many aspects of a woman life are controlled for her and she can no longer make decisions for
herself, she becomes a slave to her oppressor. Throughout the class, the theme of women being
controlled by other oppressing forces, can be seen in many texts. Women have their decisions made
for them in terms of their, food intake, appearances, and lifestyle choices. These ideas are seen in
Beyond the Lights, where Noni s mother Macy both what Noni eats as well as how she looks. Again in
The Gilded Six Bits, Missie May s hunger and food intake are controlled and judged by Joe, who
believes because he is a working man, his hunger is more important. In Color Stories: Black Women
and Colorism in the 21st Century, society controls women s appearances by pressuring them to look a
certain way to be considered beautiful. In both Not That Kind of Girl and Borderlands: La Frontera,
women s decisions about their bodies in a sexual manner are controlled by the pressures of men.
Oppressing forces play such a strong role in so many of the texts covered in class this semester, it
makes one wonder if this oppression and forceful control is an accurate representation of our society
today. A woman s figure and weight can be a major cause of stress. Society already places such strong
pressure on women to have a certain body type that women do not need additional pressures about
watching what they eat. The idea of women s food intake being controlled by other people is a
prominent theme in

George Bush and His War Against Terrorism Essay
George Bush and His War Against Terrorism
When George W Bush came to the presidential office of America at the beginning of the year 2000,
there was already a lot of controversy that surrounded him. He was appointed Governor of Texas in
1995 and as of 7:30pm, December 7, 2000, 152 people have been executed during Bush s office as
governor. This makes Texas Governor George W Bush the most killing Governor, in the history of the
United States of America. This list can be found on the website

So we now have an accusation that cannot be backed up, yet Bush still decides to launch an attack on
Afghanistan. The attack is widely regarded as a failure though Bush will not admit it. In Afghanistan
the US army used a policy of blanket bombing , which was basically: bomb everything in sight, and
you re bound to hit something. This something was 1 nursing home, 2 Red Cross hospitals, 1 school
and hundreds of homes. They did manage, with the help of the anti Taliban group in Afghanistan, the
Northern Alliance, to find some arms caches and eliminate some Taliban members. Once people
realized that the operation in Afghanistan was a failure, Bush tried to regain his popularity by
announcing yet another controversial move; plans to attack Iraq. During the 1990 s Saddam Hussein,
the leader of Iraq invaded Kuwait, the worlds biggest oil producer, and the US and UN stepped in to
defend it. This was known as the gulf war and was a big success for the US, although they did not
manage to get rid of Hussein. Many people now believe that Bush is now trying to pick up where his
predecessor, Bill Clinton, left off and rid the world of Saddam Hussein and his oppression forever.
This is all fine and well, but they are completely unprovoked and have absolutely no reason to attack:
Iraq has kept themselves to themselves since the end of the gulf war. An assault on Iraq would, as the

America in the 1950 s Essay
America in the 1950 s
Society in America during the 1950 s was one that portrayed men and women in very different, but
rigid roles. Women were housewives, secretaries, and mothers. Men were providers, war heroes, and
businessmen. Television, newspapers and magazines played an important role as well in determining
ways men and women should behave. Advertisements for real estate were designed to sell to the All
American family. For example; Dad would be the returned home veteran who is now running the
company, Mom is an ideal housewife who works a couple days a week for extra vacation cash, little

A perfect home for a perfect All American family. Another attractive feature that Green Acres was able
to offer were low cost loans that were only available to veterans and their families. This neighborhood
was designed as a community for middle class families, who could live a solid, humble, happy life
around other families that wanted the same. It was affordable for the average American family to
purchase a home in this subdivision. Automobile manufacturers during this time also used the same
campaign as many advertisers did. They put phrases like coming home and it s going to be all right in
their ads to lure veterans coming home. Some companies played on the fact that they were creating
jobs for Americans. Therefore the automobile makers were keeping America s economy strong and
prosperous. By purchasing your vehicle through a company that provides Americans with jobs and
opportunities, you were doing your part to keep America s economy going strong. The advertising was
designed to put a sense of patriotism in veterans returning home as well as the average consumer.

The Literature Of Climate-Induced Migration
Literature: Climate induced migration is not a new phenomenon that occurred abruptly; it has been an
adaptive strategy followed frequently by different people throughout history to withstand severe
climate conditions. Yet, because of the accumulation of climate hazards, many communities around
the world are highly likely to forcibly flee their lands searching safer zones. In this sense, Climate
induced refugees , is a term that is used to indicate individuals who forcibly flee their homeland
because of climate issues (McAdam, 2012). Although this phenomenon is gradually increasing, it is
still regarded as a marginal or peripheral problem despite its critical outcome. It may appear as merely
environmental; yet, it will generate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Bangladesh as an example, the tidal increase of water threatens citizens lives, pushes them to flee
their homes and undermine their resilience chances (Francis Maguire, 2016). Additionally, the
implications of sea level on coastal environments are predicted to be more critical, resulting in land
loss and abandonment of some islands and atolls with a necessity to relocate the local inhabitants in
other lands (Yotova, 2009). Therefore, it is crucial to consider how the mounting effects of sea level
rise do not solely push communities to abandon their lands, but also threaten their valuable resources
and undermine their resilience attempts. Moreover, The effects of sea level rise are irreversible and
pose in the long run, making migration the only adaptive solution (Piguet Pécoud, 2011). Thus, the
gradual submersion of many countries and island states will lead to a statelessness situation. Namely,
the affected population would suffer from deprivation of its statehood under the absence of a physical
land (McLeman et al., 2015). Furthermore, those ramshackle environments are susceptible to critical
consequences on areas such as tourism, water resources, food and fishing (Ashbindu et al., 2006).
Subsequently, the main concern is how the vulnerable states would cope with the tidal rise of sea level
that swallows their lands gradually as Hastrug Olwig (2012) suggested.

The Book Of Judges Talks About Ancient Israel
The Book of Judges talks about ancient Israel, and how they extended their territory by acquiring
lands from the non Israelites. The book narrates how Israelites conquered and reclaimed their lost land
from non Israelites and how they used to turn from God whenever they are satisfied. But it is written
in the Bible that, the guilty are by no means cleared, as Exodus (34:7) says this is the reason why the
Lord used several Kings and Judges like Deborah to help the people of Israel find their way back to
Him. As the book reveals, it is evident that most of the judges were men (as they were most of the
times referred to as Judges). The book talks about a great woman Deborah, also referred to as the bee ,
as a key judge in the entire book. This book unveils the importance of women (through acts and
strengths of Deborah (mainly) and other heroic female characters) and their power to the readers. The
Book of Judges narrates six women who are and will always be remembered by their outstanding and
remarkable work. They are, Achsah, Deborah, Jael, Japhthah s daughter, Delilah and the identity of
two of them is not revealed. O Connor (1980) suggests that, The book of Judges demonstrates this
disparity as observed; women assume a vital function in its set up as the volume s subject is
marginalization (278). Women are well known in three major roles, that is, being a mother, a daughter
or a mate. Despite these limited roles, the Book of Judges shows that women are powerful and

Over the past few weeks in this class I have read about a multitude of societies thought different time
periods. Each society is unique in their own different ways, and with these differences have come
attractions, that make each society desirable, as well as things that make them inconvenient. If I were

they built their empire by not only absorbing the Muslims of Anatolia as well protecting the Orthodox

Manus Island and Nauru were closed in 2008 by the Australian Labour government, bringing an end
to the Pacific Solution, the centres were once again used in 2012 to house asylum seekers by the same

The Coalition government declared that there was a national emergency on Australia s borders, in turn
demanding a direct response to this issue through a disciplined, focused and targeted military
operation (Dickson, 2015). Thus, Operation Sovereign Borders emerged with its primary objective
being to stop the boats (Dickson. 2015). This new policy involved the military interception of
unauthorized maritime arrivals, thus sending the individuals found on the boats directly to Manus
Island and Nauru (Fraenkel, 2016). From the inauguration of this revamped policy, no matter where an
asylum seeker arrived from by boat, they were subject to transfer to either Manus Island or Nauru

to breach Australia and in turn any possibility of resettlement for the asylum seekers in the nation

Consequently, research carried out by Ahissar, (2004) has also suggested that many children learn
better when they have pictures to help them. This is as a lot of children are visual learners, which
means they learn by seeing things rather than listening. This resource hence assists children who may
suffer from anxiety which is mostly due to them being new to the setting or them not being able to
understand routines. Lewalter, (2003) has stated that a visual routine is required as many children
learn better when they are supported with photographic images, this is as they tend to mainly be visual
learners. Therefore, visual routine can maximise a child s strengths to develop in areas that they find
more difficult.
This resource as a result links to the Early Years Foundation Stage, (EYFS) (2008). The area of the

Key Concepts Of Identity, Identification, Place And Social...
I am writing to compare two articles from two different sources. I will be exploring the key concepts
of identity, identification, place and social memory and how theses sociological concepts are displayed
within the articles. Identity is the process that informs the way in which people see themselves and the
groups they belong to and also how other groups categorize a person. Pountney and Maric (2015)
pages 144 5. Identity is relational, situational and multiple. It is better to understand identification as a
process of continual negotiation and renegotiation. This statement confirms our identities are forever
changing due to our circumstances or surrounding environments and certain aspects of our identities
are chosen and negotiated. The Sikh youths in the UK prove this theory through this statement; There
s a time to be Indian and a time to be British K. Hall (2002). Identification is the ongoing process that
describes the way in which individuals and groups see themselves and the way others see them. It
refers to the way people develop their cultural identity; language, ethnicity, religion and social class
are all examples of social characteristics that give people a shared sense of belonging. Pountney and
Maric (2015) pages 144 5. Yi Fu Tuan discussed Place as a location created by human experiences

The cognitive level of analysis evaluates and studies the mental structures and processes involved in
behaviors. For example, memory or perception. These various behaviors are knows as cognitive
processes. We will evaluate what role emotion plays in a specific cognitive process and how it could
possibly affect and influence them. In this essay, we will investigate how emotion can affect memory
in reference the the Flashbulb Memory theory of Brown and Kulik that was done in 1977. This theory
and many others were developed after Freud s hypothesis that only therapy can resurface disturbing
memories that create painful emotions. Another example of a study that was done based off of Freud s

Two researchers, Neisser and Harsch, decided to test out the flashbulb memory theory by interviewing
participants about the 1986 Challenger space shuttle crash. They interviewed the participants the day
after it had happened and the two and a half years later. In their findings, they found that their memory
of how it happened and what they were doing at that time had changed. They concluded with agreeing
with Brown and Kulik about the fact that flashbulb memories are very vivid and detail rich but also
concluded that they are very unreliable and can change over time. Researcher Talarico and Rubin
decided to test out the theory behind the flashbulb memories as well. After their investigation, they
concluded that the memories are very vidid but are not accurate at all. This supports the Neisser and
Harsch findings. In conclusion, after evaluating the various studies, we can agree that emotions do in
fact effect our memory. Based off of the flashbulb memory theory, it is explained how our vivid and
detailed emotions can prevent us from factually remembering what happened and that our memory

Robots Guided through Computer Vision
1.1 Basic introduction
Human life is of prime importance. It is the most beautiful and precious gift of God. Sometimes
situations occur where we would have no choice and we have to put someone s life in danger to save
many other lives. At that time we would surely think that it would be better if there is some kind of
replacement for human body which can perform human tasks. Furthermore, there are millions of
physically challenged people who can t perform day to day simple tasks which a normal man can
easily perform.
The answer and solution to all these problems is ROBOT. Human life is becoming more advanced and
safer day by day. Human efforts are replaced with machines which can perform work accurately,
precisely and safely. The idea of a robot to provide assistance either in the home, office or in more
hostile environments (e.g. bomb disposal or nuclear reactors) has existed for many years and such
systems are available today. Unfortunately, they are typically expensive and by no means ubiquitous
in the way that 1950sand 60s science fiction would have had us believe. The major limitations to
including robots in homes and offices are the infrastructure changes they require.
Computer vision however means that robots can be monitored from just a few inexpensive cameras
and the recent availability of wireless network solutions (IEEE 802.11 and Bluetooth in particular) has
decimated the infrastructure they demand. The final step to the package is how humans are to interact

A Brief Note On Cross Culture Of India
Somewhere culture defines the way of living of people of that area. Therefore I selected this topic of
cross culture of India because the India a huge populated country and there are different religions in
this country. Besides this I think we should have the knowledge about the other country cultures there
languages how they like to live because in this world we can meet any one in any situations. That s
why it s necessary for us to have knowledge about the cultures of the other country there people, there
style of living, festivals, education systems, cuisines, weddings and the most important one their
languages. India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. The culture of India varies from place
to place within the country. The Indian culture is the combination of several different cultures. Indian
culture is specifically based on the religions there are several different religions belonging to same
country. Basically they have the same religion but they have divided themselves into various sub
groups for example Brahmans and others. Moreover, there are several more religions living there as
the minority such as Islam (14.2%), Christianity (2.3%), Sikhism (1.7%), Buddhism (0.2%), Jainism

Atkins diet is the seemingly unlimited amount of fat and meat that is allowed within the diet. This
unconventional method of weight loss is the center of the animosity towards the Atkins diet. Though
this diet may not be the best method of weight loss for all dieters, it is beneficial and extremely

The high fat content of the diet has caused many opponents of the Atkins diet to jump to the
conclusion that it must cause heart disease. This has been found to be completely untrue. In fact,
research from the New England Journal of Medicine found that several heart disease indicators
actually improved for those on the Atkins diet. They found an increase in serum triglyceride levels and
serum HDL (the good cholesterol) that was greater than those on the low fat diets. They also found
that both diets saw similar decreases in LDL (the bad cholesterol). Therefore, those on the Atkins diet
had a higher increase in good cholesterol that benefits the heart and the same amount of reduction in
bad cholesterol as the low fat diet. Though it would seem intuitively correct to assume that a diet that
is high in fat would cause heart disease, studies have proven that the Atkins diet is actually beneficial
to the heart.
In addition to being beneficial to the heart, the Atkins diet is very successful in losing weight
compared to low fat diets. Several studies have found that after six months those on the low
carbohydrate diets (like the Atkins diet) lost 3.9 kilograms (8.6 pounds) more weight than the low fat
diet group. However, these same studies found that after the participants were on the diets for twelve
months, there was no significant difference in the amount of weight that was lost. This supports the
idea that the Atkins diet is better for

  • 2. Argumentative Essay On Metal Music Metal music: Noise pollution of today Metal music is a genre of rock music that developed in the late sixties and early seventies. It is characterized by its loud distorted guitars, dense bass and drum sound and vigorous vocals. Because of its different and a bit aggressive sound, metal music is not everyone s cup of tea. Sadly, metal community is often faced with a lot of stereotypical opinions. The most widespread stereotypical opinion is that all metal songs are about the devil and hell. One more stereotypical opinion is that all metal songs are just pointless screaming. All these stereotypes are wrong because metal music has a very wide range of lyrical themes and, next to usual loud songs, there are also some very nice and emotional ballads. Only problem with metal music is the fact that this kind of music is often associated with drugs, alcohol and violence. It is true that some metal fans consume drugs and alcohol, but that does not mean that all fans of metal music should be categorized as drug addicts and alcoholics because those people s addiction is a result of their bad choices and it has nothing to do with the music they listen to. Talking about violence is pointless because if you compare a metal concert with a football game you will see that metal fans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everyone is happy to see you no matter what is your skin color, religion or age. That is very nice and it shows that metal fans are actually very nice people. Another good thing about metal music is the fact that it is a source of energy, relaxation, comfort and inspiration. Last but not the least important thing is the research that shows that there is a strong link between heavy metal and high intelligence. That research proves that metal music has meaning and that it is not just some random ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Summary Of So Much Water So Close To Home Intro: Raymond Carver s hypo short story So Much Water So Close to Home was published in 2003 set within the late American 1970 s, during the time when there was mass hysteria of serial killings. Carver s plot used the hysteria of the 1970 s to set up the theme of serial killings within America. Juxtaposingly, Ray Lawrence adapted Carver s short story in [2006] and [transformed] it into the hyper Australian gothic film Jindabyne. Lawrence adaption of the hypotext focuses on the theme of Aboriginal treatment and the beliefs of the aboriginal treatment. The benefits of adaptation studies lies within their ability to highlight changing societal ideas, attitudes and values. Context: Raymond Carver s hypo short story So Much Water So Close to Home was made in 2003 set within the late American 1970 s, during the time when there was mass hysteria of serial killings. By the lack of detail and the objective narration of Claire s emotions within the story, Carver s short story had delved into the reader s mind and effectively positioned the reader to create the tension and suspense from the reader s own interpretation of the text. Carver s lack of detail lures the reader into asking questions that can never be answered, such as who was the killer? Why did Stuart go far away to fish? • 5. Essay on The Swastika in MAUS The Swastika in MAUS The image of the swastika pervades Arthur Spiegelman s graphic novel MAUS. In a work where so much of the Holocaust has been changed in some way after all, there are no humans in this version, only cats, mice, dogs, and pigs we must wonder why Spiegelman chooses to retain this well known emblem. To remove it entirely or replace it with another, invented symbol would completely disorient the reader; but some might claim that this is the effect at which Spiegelman is aiming. I believe it is not. Rather, Spiegelman uses the swastika to subtly remind the reader that while the guise in which events are presented may be somewhat unfamiliar, the novel is still a narrative of the Holocaust. The swastika, it has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But these changes help to make it more stern, more authoritarian, more evil a testament to Spiegelman s ability to adapt this already emotionally loaded symbol. It is with the coming of the swastika that the graphic novel becomes dark . I mean this in two ways. First, the first chapter of the novel is rather light in its message, focusing on the beginning of the relationship between Vladek and Anja. The swastika first appears on the frontispiece to the second chapter, ironically titled The Honeymoon . After this point, the totalitarianism begins. The presence of the swastika is strongest at the first time Vladek sees it. He states, on first seeing it, It was the beginning of 1938 before the war hanging high in the center of town, it was a Nazi flag. Here was the first time I saw, with my own eyes, the swastika. On the next page, the swastika becomes detached from the flag and floats like an ominous moon on the horizon behind the scene of a pogrom. Spiegelman here is milking the emotive power of the swastika for all that it is worth. But perhaps the most interesting use of the swastika in MAUS is to be found towards the end of the book. Anja and Vladek are attempting to hide when they come to a crossroads, and the roads meet in the form of a swastika. Vladek tells Art: Anja and I didn t have where to go. We walked in the direction of Sosnowiec but where to go?! It was nowhere we had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Criminal Behavior Analysis The ways in which offenders think about their potential actions are all diverse. This varied nature can stem from the characteristics of the criminal being inherently different. However, the actual crime commission can play a role in how offenders think about crime. This same thought process is true for how an offender makes the decision to engage in criminal activity. There are countless variables and factors that are moving and connected at any given time, that can result in the engagement of criminal behavior and/or activity. Therefore, it is imperative that we understand the complex thought processes that offenders participate in, with this knowledge we learn how to better protect society, as well as how to prevent further crime from occurring. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For those offenders that are found guilty, the statement above also seems even more bizarre. However, as we have learned this half of the semester, an often used method by white collar criminals in their decision making process, as well as their own personal thought process about their crime, often times can center around varied thoughts of deniability. Benson (1985), states that normally with white collar crimes there is not necessarily a lengthy search of who committed the crime, the primary focus is why. However, a great deal of the offenders use some tactic of deniability to describe their decision making process during the commission of their crimes. For example, some offenders deny that the person they embezzled from had enough money as it is, therefore denial of a victim, which allowed the continuance of criminal behavior, activity, and obviously thinking patterns. The deniability aspect can branch further into allowing the offender to not feel shame for his or her actions, which is why they felt secure in committing the crime in the first place. Also, they did not believe that there was actually a victim, for example a top executive stealing millions from customers. The theme of deniability is vast, and covers a tremendous amount of irrational thoughts and neutralizations, and from what I gathered from the literature, allows the offender to build a positive ... • 10. Vaccination Is The Most Important Factor Taylor Gowen Professor Cynthia Walton College Comp I 04 November 2014 Vaccines Immunization is defined as the process of giving immunity to prevent infectious diseases by artificial methods (The Hutchinson Unabridged Encyclopedia). Statistics show that vaccines prevent more than 2.5 million child deaths per year (Davey, et al 5). These deaths typically occur in children under the age of 5. Immunizations are arguably one of the most important benefits of modern medicine offered in our country. Vaccines are given to prevent a serious disease or illness. They are generally only given to healthy people to help boost immunity (Sanford, S52). Without vaccines diseases such as measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), polio (IPV or OPV), diphtheria tetanus and acellular pertussis (DTaP), Haemophilus Influenzae type b (HIB) and Hepatitis (HEP A, B, C) would still be prevalent (Sanford, S61). Within the 21st century, there have been many positive changes occurring throughout our world. Vaccination is the most important factor in reduction of deaths or serious diseases in children under the age of 5 (Kennedy, 1). Controversy remains if whether the risk of side effects from the vaccines, outweigh the risk of contracting the disease. Vaccinations have proven to be an effective method of preventing serious diseases, which are the cause of many childhood illnesses that often result in fatality (Kennedy, 1). • 11. Reinhold Niebhur s Views On Original Sin Reinhold Niebhur s views on Original sin fall in line with my own actually; I do believe that man is inherently evil with power to do good. As much of a blessing that free will is, I believe it to also be a curse because nothing good comes free. With the freedom to make our decisions comes the responsibilty to not only know but also to understand the effects of them. Every action has a reaction, and sin is the reaction to free will. Niebuhr holds that man is responsible for his unintentional sins, even if there was no malice. Niebuhr argues through Pauline teachings that sin is essential; especially with man s tendency for self glorification. Our faulty minds and free will can easily fll prey deception and misinterpretation of what we think we saw with ignorance and imagination filling the gaps, and no matter what level of mental fortitude, sense of morality, or innate holiness man possesses. Man still falls subject to deception. If our minds, which are factors in our free will, can be subjected to manipulation, it is not bizarre to claim that man sins unintentionally and is responsible to correct its actions. Man s biggest flaw is its weakness in the face of temptation because temptation also lies in its heart. Man s free will is inherently corrupted by the temptations of life and the world. While free will pushed man s creativity to what seems to be a limitless boundary, it has also played a part in man s own undoing. Through their introductory biographies, and their work, it s apparent to see that Sun Sin Far, Jack London, and Joel Chandler Harris each have similarities within their lives and stories, and a few differences. They also all share an overarching theme of adaptation to new surroundings which is shown in each short story. Sui Sin Far is very similar to her character Sarah in Mrs. Spring Frangrance . Her story contributes to the theme of adaptation because her characters routinely struggle with Americanization, also known as adapting to American culture, while wanting to maintain a sense of their Chinese identity. In the end, she seems to support Americanization, by having Sarah s parents allow her to marry for love instead of the traditional arranged marriage. Jack London s characters all had a sense of contentment and optimism. In To Build a Fire , the main character is always optimistic about being able to get to camp, and is never fearful of death until the very end when death in inevitable, despite the dog s fearfulness throughout the story. Similarly, in The Law of Life , the character is content with the life that he s lived, and calmly accepts death as a part of life he must experience. • 15. The Political Factions, By Thomas Paine And James Chalmers ¬Though not entirely representative of their political factions, Thomas Paine and James Chalmers are major literary figures in describing loyalist and anti loyalist sentiments in pre revolutionary America. While Thomas Paine argued for America s independence, James Chalmers counters the idea by proposing some of the possible negative consequences as well as down playing the perceived necessity of declaring independence. The major points of contention in both of their arguments deal heavily with the outcome of the French and Indian War (Seven Years War) including the government actions that were imposed upon the American colonies as a result. By examining the way in which they interpreted these events, one can gain insight into their contrasting political and philosophical ideologies of pre revolutionary America. Thomas Paine was a British born citizen of Pennsylvania whose formal education ended at only thirteen years old, but he chose to educate himself in his free time. He met Benjamin Franklin who then persuaded him to move to the colonies. He introduced his views of an independent Continent very shortly before the American Revolution, which heavily influenced many middle of the road colonists. It was affordable for the average American family to purchase a home in this subdivision. Automobile manufacturers during this time also used the same campaign as many advertisers did. They put phrases like coming home and it s going to be all right in their ads to lure veterans coming home. Some companies played on the fact that they were creating jobs for Americans. Therefore the automobile makers were keeping America s economy strong and prosperous. The Literature Of Climate-Induced Migration Literature: Climate induced migration is not a new phenomenon that occurred abruptly; it has been an adaptive strategy followed frequently by different people throughout history to withstand severe climate conditions. Yet, because of the accumulation of climate hazards, many communities around the world are highly likely to forcibly flee their lands searching safer zones. In this sense, Climate induced refugees , is a term that is used to indicate individuals who forcibly flee their homeland because of climate issues (McAdam, 2012). Although this phenomenon is gradually increasing, it is still regarded as a marginal or peripheral problem despite its critical outcome. It may appear as merely environmental; yet, it will generate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Bangladesh as an example, the tidal increase of water threatens citizens lives, pushes them to flee their homes and undermine their resilience chances (Francis Maguire, 2016). Additionally, the implications of sea level on coastal environments are predicted to be more critical, resulting in land loss and abandonment of some islands and atolls with a necessity to relocate the local inhabitants in other lands (Yotova, 2009). Therefore, it is crucial to consider how the mounting effects of sea level rise do not solely push communities to abandon their lands, but also threaten their valuable resources and undermine their resilience attempts. Moreover, The effects of sea level rise are irreversible and pose in the long run, making migration the only adaptive solution (Piguet Pécoud, 2011). Thus, the gradual submersion of many countries and island states will lead to a statelessness situation. Namely, the affected population would suffer from deprivation of its statehood under the absence of a physical land (McLeman et al., 2015). Furthermore, those ramshackle environments are susceptible to critical consequences on areas such as tourism, water resources, food and fishing (Ashbindu et al., 2006). Subsequently, the main concern is how the vulnerable states would cope with the tidal rise of sea level that swallows their lands gradually as Hastrug Olwig (2012) suggested. ... • 25. The Book Of Judges Talks About Ancient Israel The Book of Judges talks about ancient Israel, and how they extended their territory by acquiring lands from the non Israelites. The book narrates how Israelites conquered and reclaimed their lost land from non Israelites and how they used to turn from God whenever they are satisfied. But it is written in the Bible that, the guilty are by no means cleared, as Exodus (34:7) says this is the reason why the Lord used several Kings and Judges like Deborah to help the people of Israel find their way back to Him. As the book reveals, it is evident that most of the judges were men (as they were most of the times referred to as Judges). The book talks about a great woman Deborah, also referred to as the bee , as a key judge in the entire book. This book unveils the importance of women (through acts and strengths of Deborah (mainly) and other heroic female characters) and their power to the readers. The Book of Judges narrates six women who are and will always be remembered by their outstanding and remarkable work. They are, Achsah, Deborah, Jael, Japhthah s daughter, Delilah and the identity of two of them is not revealed. O Connor (1980) suggests that, The book of Judges demonstrates this disparity as observed; women assume a vital function in its set up as the volume s subject is marginalization (278). Women are well known in three major roles, that is, being a mother, a daughter or a mate. Despite these limited roles, the Book of Judges shows that women are powerful and ... The Coalition government declared that there was a national emergency on Australia s borders, in turn demanding a direct response to this issue through a disciplined, focused and targeted military operation (Dickson, 2015). This new policy involved the military interception of unauthorized maritime arrivals, thus sending the individuals found on the boats directly to Manus Island and Nauru (Fraenkel, 2016). From the inauguration of this revamped policy, no matter where an asylum seeker arrived from by boat, they were subject to transfer to either Manus Island or Nauru (Grewcock, 2014). The purpose of this policy was to ensure the removal of all boat arrivals attempting to breach Australia and in turn any possibility of resettlement for the asylum seekers in the nation (Grewcock, 2014). This is as a lot of children are visual learners, which means they learn by seeing things rather than listening. • 33. Key Concepts Of Identity, Identification, Place And Social... I am writing to compare two articles from two different sources. I will be exploring the key concepts of identity, identification, place and social memory and how theses sociological concepts are displayed within the articles. Identity is the process that informs the way in which people see themselves and the groups they belong to and also how other groups categorize a person. Pountney and Maric (2015) pages 144 5. Identity is relational, situational and multiple. It is better to understand identification as a process of continual negotiation and renegotiation. This statement confirms our identities are forever changing due to our circumstances or surrounding environments and certain aspects of our identities are chosen and negotiated. The Sikh youths in the UK prove this theory through this statement; There s a time to be Indian and a time to be British K. Hall (2002). Identification is the ongoing process that describes the way in which individuals and groups see themselves and the way others see them. It refers to the way people develop their cultural identity; language, ethnicity, religion and social class are all examples of social characteristics that give people a shared sense of belonging. Pountney and Maric (2015) pages 144 5. Yi Fu Tuan discussed Place as a location created by human experiences (Tuan, 2001). These various behaviors are knows as cognitive processes. We will evaluate what role emotion plays in a specific cognitive process and how it could possibly affect and influence them. In this essay, we will investigate how emotion can affect memory in reference the the Flashbulb Memory theory of Brown and Kulik that was done in 1977. This theory and many others were developed after Freud s hypothesis that only therapy can resurface disturbing memories that create painful emotions. Another example of a study that was done based off of Freud s theory is the Levinger and Clark study in 1961. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Two researchers, Neisser and Harsch, decided to test out the flashbulb memory theory by interviewing participants about the 1986 Challenger space shuttle crash. They interviewed the participants the day after it had happened and the two and a half years later. In their findings, they found that their memory of how it happened and what they were doing at that time had changed. They concluded with agreeing with Brown and Kulik about the fact that flashbulb memories are very vivid and detail rich but also concluded that they are very unreliable and can change over time. Researcher Talarico and Rubin decided to test out the theory behind the flashbulb memories as well. After their investigation, they concluded that the memories are very vidid but are not accurate at all. This supports the Neisser and Harsch findings. In conclusion, after evaluating the various studies, we can agree that emotions do in fact effect our memory. Based off of the flashbulb memory theory, it is explained how our vivid and detailed emotions can prevent us from factually remembering what happened and that our memory (because of this emotions) can change over ... • 36. Robots Guided through Computer Vision 1.1 Basic introduction Human life is of prime importance. It is the most beautiful and precious gift of God. Sometimes situations occur where we would have no choice and we have to put someone s life in danger to save many other lives. At that time we would surely think that it would be better if there is some kind of replacement for human body which can perform human tasks. Furthermore, there are millions of physically challenged people who can t perform day to day simple tasks which a normal man can easily perform. The answer and solution to all these problems is ROBOT. Human life is becoming more advanced and safer day by day. Human efforts are replaced with machines which can perform work accurately, precisely and safely. The idea of a robot to provide assistance either in the home, office or in more hostile environments (e.g. bomb disposal or nuclear reactors) has existed for many years and such systems are available today. Unfortunately, they are typically expensive and by no means ubiquitous in the way that 1950sand 60s science fiction would have had us believe. The major limitations to including robots in homes and offices are the infrastructure changes they require. Computer vision however means that robots can be monitored from just a few inexpensive cameras and the recent availability of wireless network solutions (IEEE 802.11 and Bluetooth in particular) has decimated the infrastructure they demand. The final step to the package is how humans are to interact ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This has been found to be completely untrue. In fact, research from the New England Journal of Medicine found that several heart disease indicators actually improved for those on the Atkins diet. They found an increase in serum triglyceride levels and serum HDL (the good cholesterol) that was greater than those on the low fat diets. They also found that both diets saw similar decreases in LDL (the bad cholesterol). Therefore, those on the Atkins diet had a higher increase in good cholesterol that benefits the heart and the same amount of reduction in bad cholesterol as the low fat diet. Though it would seem intuitively correct to assume that a diet that is high in fat would cause heart disease, studies have proven that the Atkins diet is actually beneficial to the heart. In addition to being beneficial to the heart, the Atkins diet is very successful in losing weight compared to low fat diets. Several studies have found that after six months those on the low carbohydrate diets (like the Atkins diet) lost 3.9 kilograms (8.6 pounds) more weight than the low fat diet group.
