Spanking In The United States
Let s look at the results of this survey. All of the Republican voters believe that it is acceptable for
someone to spank their children. On the other hand, 33 percent of Third Party voters agree with
spanking while the other 67 percent disagree with spanking. The Democratic voters are the ones
whose beliefs on spanking are quite evident only 13.86 of them agree with spanking while the rest, a
whopping 86.14 percent, do not agree with spanking their children. Do you notice a trend here? As
shown by the results of the survey, Democrats tend to not agree with corporal punishment. Although
this doesn t hold true every time (there are exceptions), if someone doesn t agree with corporal
punishment then they are extremely likely to be a Democrat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is because they carry their liberal ideas with them into other aspects of their life such as how they
punish their children. Also, the fact that America has gradually become more and more liberal and has
implemented liberal legislation into its government since then also explains why most liberals don t
use corporal punishment, which is because they believe that corporal punishment is outdated. Another
trend: since those who vote for Hillary Clinton carry their tolerance and empathy with them beyond
the voting posts also tend to believe that corporal punishment is old fashioned, they will most likely
not believe in using corporal punishment to discipline their children. All of these different trends make
it possible to explain how who a person votes for correlates with how they discipline their children,
and why voting for Hillary means someone is not likely to spank their

How Is Culture Influenced By American Culture
Cultures have been copying each other since the first groups of people roamed the earth. When people
see something they like, many will copy the idea to make their own lives more enjoyable or more
efficient. This allows unique characteristics of every civilization around the world to become unified.
Authors such as Andrew Marantz, Steve Olson, Leslie Savan, Manuel Munoz, Steve Olson, Kwame
Anthony Appiah, and Malcolm Gladwell, all believe that the world can become a more unified place.
They believe that through media, cultures are blending appearances, traditions, jobs, and social
standards on which everyone can live together in a more peaceful world. NOT FINISHED The world

Culturalization has made huge steps forward and will continue to make changes until the world is
unified under the belief of cosmopolitanism. The definition of cosmopolitanism is that all human
beings belong together in a single community (Dictionary). Kwame Anthony Appiah writes in his
article Cosmopolitanism about how every human being who has ever been on the earth is essentially
the same. He shares how everyone is the same at birth, but taught to have different beliefs (Appiah
68). Meaning that everyone was created the same and should be able to get along no matter what
cultural beliefs people might obtain. Supporting this argument is the author of Small Change ,
Malcolm Gladwell. Gladwell describes an incident that took place on February 1, 1960, when the
famous Greensboro sit ins occurred. Social standards during this time were to be segregated but that
all began to change after these and many other sit ins. Word spread through the media about the events
and by the end thousands of people were involved which sparked the Civil Rights movement
(Gladwell 231). Gladwell discusses how with new social media today it is easy to become involved
and learn about different world and cultural events. Maybe this is what will truly help the world turn
the corner and create new social standards that will bring people together with a cosmopolitanism

My Dream Is A Dream
Growing up, my parents moved around a lot. There were times when we lived with relatives, and there
were times when we had an apartment or trailer. We never had any money and could never stay in one
place for long. As I got older, I heard the speeches they told us kids, such as You can be anything you
want when you grow up! and Follow your dreams! But now as I look around, I see fear and misery.
People are depressed and angry at how their lives are going. Our government is selling our country to
anyone with enough money. News has been reduced to sensationalized, misleading opinion pieces.
Rent has gone up. House prices have gone up. Gas prices have gone up. All the while, wages have
stayed the same. We are losing our privacy to lobbying, our rights are being taken away for the
illusion of safety, and our politicians want to remove the safety nets that keep us from losing
everything to unforeseen circumstances. This is not a dream, it is a nightmare. I have dreams that I m
currently pursuing them. I want a career I love and look forward to when I wake up in the morning. I
no longer want to live paycheck to paycheck. I want to love what I do and life a good life. Not once
has a goal of mine been to buy a house. I have come to terms with the idea of living in an apartment as
long as I keep pursuing my dreams. Houses are simply too expensive. There are enough homes in
America to house all the homeless with many houses left over. But they remain abandoned waiting for

Explain Why Some Working At Home Are More Productive Than...
91 Percent of People Who Work at Home Are More Productive Than at Work When the idea of
working remotely comes up in a conversation, I find that people tend to respond in one of two ways:
total dread or utter delight. Some professionals recall the risks and difficulties of working away from
the office, while others rave about having the flexibility to create their own schedule and work
environment. Regardless of how you work best and where you personally stand on the topic, it s worth
considering the benefits of offering remote working opportunities to your team and organization. With
clear expectations and guidelines in place, remote working can bolster productivity and build trust
within your team. In fact, in a 2016 survey of American remote workers, 91 percent of people who
work remotely revealed that they re more productive than when they re in an office. In some ways,
remote working is similar to having teams in different locations or spread across various parts of the
country. However, establishing telecommuting protocol isn t always intuitive and the practice has yet
to be considered or implemented at many organizations or in some cases has been implemented and
retracted at some others. Here are a few tips to keep in mind if you are considering this as an option
for your team. Set clear expectations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

days would be remote days. This allowed the team to come together on set days each week and helped

Yosset At Ice Work Case Analysis
Yesterday in Syosset at Ice Works, the New York Islanders met with general manager Garth Snow,
head coach Jack Capuano and said their good byes to their teammates before heading off to their
summer destination of choice, where they will rest, reconnect with their families and children and
erase the sting that their five game loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning should have produced. What the

Tuckmans Teams
Katzenbach and Smith (1993a) recognise teams as the basic units of performance in organisations and
identify a team as ...a small number of people with complimentary skills who are committed to a
common purpose, performance goals and approach for which they hold themselves mutually
accountable.
There are a large variety of team types and different studies distinguish them by certain characteristics
such as the team s timespan, work cycle, and the nature of tasks among many others. For example,
Torrington et al. (2002) differentiate the teams by their timespan (temporary or permanent), range of
skills, and a task. They identify the four team types:

Working closely together towards achieving the common goals, the team has developed a certain
degree of trust and cohesion. Although, cohesiveness can be seen as an obstacle to progress (CIPP,
Unit 1) it is still one of the key characteristics of the team s high performance. It helps to achieve a
greater focus on the process and commitment to the decision making process. It became clearly visible
once the team faced a change. The good level of cohesion and trust let the team members openly share
their concerns, consider each other s feelings and opinions and come to decisions of how to handle the

Language Death Essay
Main Issues: The way in which our world functions today is a result of colonialization. Language
death and linguistic endangerment is woven with colonialization and the history of oppression toward
indigenous communities. We cannot speak of language death without first acknowledging the speakers
and the systematic oppression that indigenous communities continue struggling to resist. In present
time language shifts due to economic incentive of hegemony and the mediating role of language
ideologies are two of the most important causes of language death. Language shift and language
ideologies that ultimately cause language death are current consequences of colonialization. The death
of a language has both of linguistic and cultural consequences to the particular community affected
and to the world s diversity as a whole. Languages serve as carries of cultural knowledge, as identity
and verbal art, hence when a language is lost cultural resources, identity and verbal art are lost. One of
the most important causes of language death is language shifts due to economic incentives of
hegemony. A language shift is when people adopt the language of the hegemonic society replacing
their mother tongue in both their personal and professional lives (Mithum 1998:182). The shift of
language is motivated by the hope for economic prosper as hegemonic languages like English and
French dominate the economic market place. This language shift is also understood through the terms

The Neanderthal
The Neanderthal: An Overview Most people have heard of the Neanderthal, but there is a disconnect
in how people understand this ancestor or cousin to modern man. The history, anatomy, culture and
genetics of Neanderthal Man shed light on the relationship between this species and our own. This
essay considers the Neanderthal man in terms of its evolutionary history, anatomy, and culture,
investigating the genetic relationship of this species to Homo sapiens sapiens, or modern man. The
essay pays special attention to the evidence offered for the Neanderthal s existence and evolution,
ultimately concluding that very little is actually known, though a preponderance of evidence exists for
ongoing research and analysis.

Greek Architecture Dbq
The time of the Ancient Greeks is one of the most, if not the most, influential periods since the dawn
of existence. The Ancient Greeks contributed to many of the modern world concepts that are used in
everyday life. The importance of the Ancient Greeks is shown, in some way, scattered through each
and every day. One contribution to the Western civilization from the Ancient Greeks is architecture.
Greek architecture is shown in pillars all throughout the modern world. The most recognizable Greek
architecture is located in the image in document 5: the Parthenon. This image shows that the Greeks
wanted a city to be represented with artistic value not just with the architecture but also with statues.

The activity was for my student to make up his own story problem using a given theme and to make
up two numbers to get to a number of the given sum. During the activity my student was somewhat
successful with finding two numbers that made the sum he was given, but often times got confused on
the wording of the sum problem. For example he would write I have 2 socks if he got 6 socks then
would stop. Through out the process I had to be say things like I don t know what I am suppose to
solve or What is suppose to go at the end of the problem? . After I d ask those problems my student
would usually try and charm me into giving him the answer, but I would just act super confuse and try
and guide him into the answer. After many redirections and questions I could successfully help him
make a story problem that made sense, but it took around ten minutes to successfully do this. I learned
that my student knows how to solve problems, but sometimes he would get caught up in the detail of
spelling a word, how he wrote a word, or would get distracted. I also realized that he can struggle with
the foundation of a story problem and how to construct one. This semester I plan on helping my case

Dubliners By James Joyce s Dubliners
In James Joyce s Dubliners, the reader experiences the different lives of Dublin s inhabitants. Each
Dubliner has different problems, fears, hopes, and dreams, which allows culminates into many
different perspectives. Joyce masterfully writes the daily lives of these people without any
romanticism. The Dubliners stories are a small snippet into their full lives, while the reader does not
get the full story, he does not need to. Not much may seem to happen in the stories, but profound
themes and messages are hidden beneath the words. In the story An Encounter, a group of boys
imagine they are in the Wild West, while staging mock battles of cowboys vs. Indians. The story
includes many encounters that present themselves as ordinary; however this is far from true. In fact,
the story is largely commentating on often mocking Irish religious life and escapism. In the beginning
of the story one of the boys, Leo Dillon, is scolded by Father Butler for reading The Half Penny
Marvel. Father Butler considers the comic as nonsense and tells Leo that his Roman History is far
more cultured and important (Joyce 12). A religious figure like Father Butler is common among Joyce
s works, as he has always shown contempt for religion. In a sense, Father Butler creates structure for
the boys, but it is monotonous and rigid. Clearly Father Butler does not approve of Leo s fascinations
for the Wild West so he condemns him. The lack of support for imagination or freedom is snuffed out

Romanticism In British Literature
Romanticism is British Literature was never a real movement and was a word used to put the most
distinctive writers who thrived in the last years of the 18th century and the first decades of the 19th
centuries into a group. The term Romantic literature was actually a little bit misleading since there
were no movements of romanticism back then. The writers back in that period did not call themselves
Romantic writers, not until August Wilhelm von Schlegel s Vienna lectures of 1808 through 1809
showed a vague difference between Classicism and Romanticism.
The examples of the French Revolution had an impact on the Romantic Movement in other ways.
Romanticism elevated the achievements of what it perceived as misunderstood heroic individuals and
artists that altered society and legitimized the individual imagination as a critical authority which
permitted freedom from classical notions of form in art. Other aspects of romanticism were
intertwined with Emotion, Lyric Poetry, and Self. Increased activity from the imagination was
achieved by more importance of the instincts and feelings of the authors. They generally called more
attention towards the emotion as it was a necessary add on to make logic and reason. When this
emphasis was added to the establishment of poetry, a very important transformation of focus
happened. Wordsworth s definition of all good poetry as the spontaneous overflow of powerful
feelings marks a turning point in literary history. By finding the best

of mine while writing this paper is to show how interested I am about my future. Another goal I do
have is to teach the reader more information about a specific career path. Every individual has their
own career plan, and possibly could be interested in the same career as me. In the CFNC.org website,
there are multiple surveys you can take to get a better feel for what type of career you might like.
During the Career Cluster Survey I honestly had a few difficult decisions. There are tons of questions
so you know your results should be accurate. At the end of your survey you will be shown a poll with
your results. Out of my results, my top three were Science, Technology, Engineering, and

hardest game ever, no it was the hardest game ever. I know what you re thinking, the team played so
well together that it was the best they ever played with each other. Even the shy people scored it was
great. The score was unbelievable 200 points to 0. But we actually lost 89 to 58. Yeah I knew, how did
I play the best. If we didn t even win and are team wasn t playing together like we always do. Maybe
it was because they just wanted the ball or maybe they were just scared. It was the last game before
the finals. I always go in thinking that we are going to lose. So I don t feel mad or disappointed if we
lose. It also helps me play harder. But this time I was sure we were gonna lose. They were two times

tallest girl. But they were in our division. We ve never even seen them play before, but we knew they

phonemic awareness skills the area that every student needed to work on was phoneme segmentation
or phoneme deletion. Since I was working with a very small class size and a very limited time frame, I
grouped all five of the students that I assessed in one small group. This worked nicely because student
scored low in one or both phoneme segmentation and phoneme deletion, which is an area of phonemic

following successfully. The third example ended up being guided practiced where we all did the third
example as a group. Then students completed the other ten words independently. Each student would
push their tokens while saying the word, and then would check their answer with everyone at the
table. If a student missed a sound, I would model how it the word was supposed to sound. For

The Groundings With My Brothers Summary
On June 16, 2015, a long time television and real estate magnate by the name of Donald J. Trump
opened his presidential campaign by uttering one of the most racially insensitive remarks in today s
time when he elucidated upon that notion that Mexican immigrants who come to America are not
model citizens but rather rapists and murderers who undermine the legitimacy and economic fortitude
of the American experiment. This racist and xenophobic remark illustrates just how entrenched the
notion of white supremacy or as Walter Rodney would call it the white cultural imperialism ideology
is inextricably tied to the understanding of our society today. Because of this problematic ideology,

In particular, Walter Rodney s third argument about the role of black intellectual in integrating one s
self with the happening s of the black masses is particularity intriguing. Here, I posit that Rodney is
making an argument about the need for solidary within politically repressed minority communities
like those of the African American community. I agree with Rodney that through the acceptance and
affirmation of the connections that we share with each of our brothers and sisters that it helps us move
in a path in which all of those who are the most marginalized within our society stand a chance to
benefit in the long run. Solidary is important to liberation and in reforming the oppressive structures
under which we live.
Moreover, I agree with the argument Rodney posits when he tasks black intellectuals to not believe
and challenge the social myth of the multi racial society. In this instance, I think that Rodney is
making a broader point about how pervasive and powerful ideology can be. Essentially, in a sort of
Marxist spin, it is my belief that Rodney is saying that people in power often times make relationships
and ideas seem more legitimate than they actually are in order to cause one to be obscured to

Discuss the impact of the automobile s rise on urban form during the twentieth century and critically
evaluate planning measures used to limit the negative social and environmental aspects Since the rise
of the automobile, there have been many dramatic changes to urban form in attempts to accommodate
this new mode of transport. Focusing on America and Britain, this discussion considers influences on
all scales ranging from reclassification of physical roads to the decentralization of urban cores. The
rising social and environmental concerns caused by the increase in vehicle usage include pedestrian

Lippincott suggested the widening of existing streets and new diagonal arteries dedicated only to
traffic , these plans alone would cut across the existing urban fabric dramatically (see figure 1).
Eventually, the study led to formations of Major Street Traffic Plans, written by Olmsted,
Bartholomew and Cheney from 1929. When implemented, the plans altered urban form in American
cities with new openings, extensions and street patterns to reduce barriers to traffic (Roth, 2007).
Figure 1. Proposed Plans for Downtown, Los Angeles
(Traffic Commission of City and County of Los Angeles, 1924)
To an extent, the Major Street Plans and motorways were planning measures to limit social and
environmental externalities. Separating pedestrian, streetcar, and auto traffic enhanced the form of
urban areas and provided an efficient, coordinated street system, for example improved traffic
crossings ensured maximum pedestrian safety (Brown, 2006). With the separation of mobility and
access, crossings and passageways secured pedestrian safety in high traffic areas. However, with cities

The Village Of Pleasantville Board Meetings Essay
. The village of Pleasantville conducts public board meetings every second and fourth Monday of each
month. On rare occasions, for further discussion on serious issues or concerns of Pleasantville, the
village board will conduct meetings like a public hearing on other weekdays. These meetings are
located in the conference room on the second floor of the Village hall, which is also next to the
Pleasantville Police Station. The village board consists of four trustees Steven Lord, Mindy Berard,
Colleen Griffin Wagner and Joseph Stargiotti a mayor Peter Scherer a village clerk Judith Weintraub
and the village administrator Patricia Dwyer. The village board members were dressed in semi casual
business attire, which appropriately fit their position. The members sat in a congressional layout,
which looked like the formation of a half circle or crescent. This allowed the audience to see each
individual s face and it is easier to identify who is speaking. They also used parliamentary motions
when they spoke. The purpose of the village of Pleasantville board meetings is to discuss and resolve
present issues and future events that are happening or are expected to happen in the Pleasantville area.
Residents have the opportunity to either post questions for the village board to answer on their website
or they can call the board live on the telephone. The trustees and the mayor usually dominated the
entire conversation and were the only people who were permitted to speak during the

Heavy Metal Assessment Of Cosmetic Products Essay
Heavy metal assessment of some cosmetic products by ICP/OES
Abstract:
It has been shown that heavy metals toxicity to humans is as a result of long term or high level
exposure to pollutants common in the environment including the air, water, food and numerous
consumer products such as the cosmetics and toiletries. Cosmetics are seen as one of the most
important sources of releasing heavy metals into the environment and the human biological system.
Thus Cosmetic products must not be harmful under normal or foreseeable conditions of use. Four
different samples of cosmetics (Foundation, Kohl, Blusher, and Lipstick) were analyzed in Al Madina
SAES laboratory for water and food analysis to determine the levels of heavy metals (As, Pb, Zn, Hg,
and Cu) in the products. Concentrations of the selected heavy metals were determined by using
inductively coupled plasma/optical emission spectroscopy (ICP/OES). As and Cu were not found in
all samples except in foundation sample found in concentration 0.0056 ppm for as and 0.006116 ppm
for Cu, lead ranged between 0.03 0.92 ppm. Mercury ranged between 0.04 1.49 ppm, and Zinc ranged
between 0.026 0.091ppm.
1. Introduction: Personal care products and facial cosmetics are commonly used by millions of
consumers on a daily basis. These products are directly applied to human skin and mainly produce
local exposure to certain ingredients. Numerous consumer products like cosmetics and toiletries have
been reported as a source of heavy metal

Boasting In Beowulf
Why does Beowulf boast? Beowulf boasts because he believes he is more powerful and more valuable
than the rest of the people. When Unferth told Beowulf that he boasts about things he shouldn t,
Beowulf defends himself by continuing boasting. He goes on to say that the things he does are
difficult for the average and he is stronger than given credit for. He says this when he says that the
simple truth is that no man swims in the sea as I can. He takes one of his powerful qualities and rubs it
into the people s faces. He continues to describe all the powerful things he did in the sea, he states that
he put his life at stake when he entered the sea. He swam with a sword and was ready at any moment
to fight off a whale, shark, or any other sea creature. He boasts that even when a monster did manage
to catch him and take him to the bottom of the sea, he was wise enough to stab the monster in the heart
on his first try. He continues to brag about how he was capable of killing nine sea monsters. Beowulf
is very self centered and proud of his accomplishments and he believes everyone else should be too.
How is boasting viewed in Beowulf s day?
In Beowulf s time period, boasting was viewed very differently than the way boasting is viewed in
society today. In present day, boasting and bragging is considered rude, intolerable, disrespectful, and
selfish. In the time setting of Beowulf, boasting was not as negatively looked upon as it is today.

Object Oriented Programming Essay
Designing a Class Tutorial for C++ OOP (Object Oriented Programming) The modern programming is
based on the concept that program little and use more . The object oriented programming languages
are playing a vital role in the industry of development. The OOP introduced following concepts: Split
a program into set of tasks and sub tasks Develop functions for these tasks And reuse these functions
with little or less modifications This lead a new term Reusability , which means that you have to write
a function once and use the function again and again by calling the Object of that Class in which the
function is present. You can also further implement the Class by adopting the rules provided by OOP.
C++ is a good example of object oriented programming. Features of OOP There are many features of
OOP, but the most common features are: Encapsulation Inheritance Polymorphism Abstraction
Contracts Class The class is capsule that is used to encapsulate an abstract data type. When you define
a class, you define a blueprint for a data type. The class itself does not defines data, its only gives the
name concerning with the objects. However a class contains one or more than one objects. These
objects are the operations which a class performs. In short, a class provides blueprints of objects. The
basic syntax for a class is: Objects Objects are the actual operations and functions that a class
performs. Each object has its own characteristics/properties/attributes and

Fracking And The Public Health
Hydraulic fracturing or fracking has become a concern both environmentally and in the public health
sphere in Western Maryland. In analyzing these ideas, the environment and public health concerns
intertwine in a discourse about the relationship on both power and knowledge. Fracking is a new issue
for the state of Maryland to consider; therefore dominant narratives on this subject are still being
developed and legitimized. Studies have been conducted in other regions around the world to analyze
the various effects fracking has had on the environment and within communities, both economically
and politically. However, despite the potential for Western Maryland to become a possible new site for
fracking, there is a lack of literature that specifically analyzes the environmental and public health
concerns as a discourse that may be detrimental to the people and the environment in this region. Also,
as a result of fracking being a relatively new source of natural gas, there has yet to be a significant
number of studies analyzing the health effects caused by fracking even in regions that have allowed
fracking for a number of years.
The Marcellus Shale underlies Western Maryland along with New York, Pennsylvania, and West
Virginia and is the United States largest on shore natural gas reserve (Marcellus Shale Safe Drilling
Initiative, 2015). Maryland is unique in its fracking regulations as emphasized by former Governor
Martin O Malley, who in 2011 signed the Marcellus Shale Safe

Three Standards Of Evidence
The three standards of evidence are preponderance of evidence, clear and convincing evidence, and

evidence of Nancy s wishes because she did not have a living will. In the Cruzan case they only had
Preponderance of evidence when they first decided they wanted to disconnect Nancy s feeding tube.
Preponderance of evidence means that there is more evidence one way than the other. Preponderance
of evidence differs from the first two evidences because you need little to no evidence to win a case.
Most of this evidence is based off who is more believable. In this case the only evidence the Cruzan

Charles Baron also stated that they were making a mockery out of the case by keeping Nancy alive

Even though physicians were legally against taking Nancy off of the feeding tube because they were

that was spent taking care of Nancy through out the years in the hospital because the family was

friends would have known her maiden name was Cruzan verses Davis. I think that this was their
convincing evidence. However it is sad that it took so long for her friends to recognize that she was in
this state for the pass five months. Once the court received her friends testimony, they legally removed

What Are The Three Paradoxes Faced By Gustavsson At...
The importance of managing paradoxes increases with the complexity of organizational environments.
To successfully manage paradoxes organizational leaders must learn to deal with contradictions and
embrace incompatible forces, rather than choose between them (Belasen). Three management
paradoxes that Bjorn Gustavsson faces as Engineered Woods are the paradox of change and stability,
the paradox of individuals and teams, and the paradox of direction and empowerment. This essay will
discuss these three paradoxes faced by Gustavsson at Engineered woods. Engineered Woods is
seeking flexibility so they can adapt to a changing market and transition to a specialty commodity.
Gustavsson has to manage his pursuit of change in how the organization is managed, how it is
organized and whom is carrying it out. At the same time individuals are promoting resistance and the
need for stability in the work environment. Individuals wish to reduce uncertainty, and maintain a
stable self concept propelled by consistency in their actions (Leana Barry 2000). Individuals give their
best when they work in teams yet teams succeed when each individual pulls their own weight. In order
for Gustavsson to succeed in his change management strategy, he needs to shift the organization from
a vertical structure to a horizontal structure. He can breed more success and production if he can
create more self managed teams. The paradox of direction that Gustavsson faces is that he wants to
empower his

Beyond Bumper Sticker Ethics , by Steve Wilson.
Lessons to Live By In his book, Beyond Bumper Sticker Ethics, author Steve Wilkens discusses nine
ethical views that are prevalent in cultures today. Although the systems are sometimes vague, and his
discussions, a bit biased, I find myself fortunate because I seem to agree with most of his opinions that
he lets slip. The first ethical belief that the author discusses is Cultural Relativism. It talks about the
how diversity is becoming more and more apparent between different cultures worldwide. The author
mentions that often customs that are unquestioningly accepted in one part of the world are considered
abhorrent in another, for example: human sacrifice. Cultural Relativism claims that there are no
absolute standards for moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No crime would be anyone s fault. People would not take responsibility for their actions, and this
world in fact, not be ethical at all. Egoism advocates the selfish pursuit of happiness, although it does
seem to put more emphasis on selfishness than happiness. Utilitarianism, which is the next view
discussed, keeps the pursuit of happiness, but eliminates selfishness. This system seems more socially
inclusive, and its main slogan is the greatest happiness for the greatest number. To me, this is the most
wishy washy chapter. One thing from this ethical view that I do agree with is that it offers a means of
balancing individual freedoms with social obligations. While God does choose certain people to do
certain things, we are all judged according to one standard and loved equally by God. Also, it would
seem difficult to imagine a loving God who wants to torture his creatures. Of course He wants them to
be happy. One problem I have with this view is that it says that actions are judged by their
consequences. If this is true, then we can t know if our actions are good are bad because the decision
is dependent on knowing the future. Also, if we chose one path, we would still not know what the
results of the other choices would have been so how would one know if the one he made was the
greatest good. Also, according to Utilitarianism, we must face the problems concerning the extent (
greatest number ) of actions. We would then have to face who would be

Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv ) Essay
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we know that Human
papillomavirus (HPV) is a kind of severe sexually transmitted infection (STI) and it is so common that
the majority of sexually active people may infect HPV during their lives. The majority of HPV
infections cause no severe symptoms and can be resolved spontaneously in two years. But some of
them preserve and lead to premalignant condition or warts. The premalignant condition will increase
the danger of several kinds of cancers, such as the cervix cancer, vulva cancer, vagina cancer, mouth
cancer and throat cancer. According to the information from the CDC and WHO, HPV16 and HPV18
are two kinds of high risk HPVs, which may cause cervical cancer among women; HPV6 and HPV11
are considered to be the common causes of genital warts and respiratory papillomatosis.[2]
Introduction of HPV
A Brief Overview
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a kind of DNA virus from the papillomavirus family. There are more
than 150 types of HPV discovered till now. Over 40 types of them are transmitted by sex and infect
the anus and genitals.[5] Early age of first sexual intercourse, poor immune function, smoking, and
multiple partners are all high risk factors for Continual HPV infections [2] The major routes of
transmission are continuous direct skin contact with anal sex or vaginal. Babies may get HPVs from
their mother during pregnancy sometimes. People can be infected with several types of HPV in their

Kinship Is Used For Cross Cultural Comparison
Marshall Sahlins also effectively shows that there is a disadvantage among kinship being used for
cross cultural comparison because interdependency tends to be found among many different groups
regardless of their kinship models. Therefore because kinship exists in all cultures, and all cultures
have interdependency in order for the relationships to function, it makes it easier to compare various
cultures. It is also evident in another text called Witch Beliefs and Social Structure by Monica Wilson
that those we consider kin do not automatically have affection for us therefore a strong bond may not
always be present. Wilson greatly expresses that in the Nyakysua and the Pondo tribes, witchcraft is
usually practiced and aimed towards those who are in the same village. It is especially more likely to
happen if these individuals are always talking about their good fortunes to their families, they are
likely to become a target of witchcraft. Sometimes these people are related by blood, but even though
they might be, this example puts forth that even though kinship is found among these cultures, it does
not mean that these people share a relationship with each other and not individuals themselves value
kinship in the same way, therefore it is disadvantageous to use kinship when comparing cultures.
It seems that in order for people to have a kinship bond with each other they have to be somewhat
similar in one way or another but do not have to be blood related. Radcliffe Brown

Computer Science And Information Technology
The last few years have been known by the emergence of many new fields in addition to the quick
development and advancement of different existing ones. In fact, within the science fields,
biotechnology has had advances in its methodologies and techniques in a way that s been converging
with the improvement in computer science. In an arena when we could talk about the success of the
Human Gene Project, the enormous amount of complete sequences for different organisms and the
research findings that are being published every day, the growth of biological data has been
characterized with a very high pace. This huge quantity of information that is being produced
definitely raises the need of organizing, storing and analyzing it, not only in spread sheets controlled
by humans, by relying more on the computational powers of the field of informatics. Aligning the
growth of computer science with the increasing need of managing biological data has given rise to the
field of bioinformatics, which is generally defined as the intersection of biology, computer science and
information technology (1).
Looking back at the origin and history of bioinformatics, the concept of keeping and storing biological
data has started as early as the emergence of the famous Mendelian experiements. After he cross

Evaluating Csd 363 Is A Practicum Course On Children s...
CSD 363 is a practicum course that gives students the opportunity to provide schools with free speech
and hearing screenings. This class is mutually beneficial, seeing that students have an undergraduate
opportunity to start practicing skills typically developed in graduate school, and that families receive
valuable services for free. The screenings given are comprised of two parts: the Fluharty Speech and
Language test, and an audiology pure tone screening including a look in the ears with an otoscope.
Under the supervision of a licensed supervisor, students will be giving these screenings and making
recommendations about further evaluations if necessary.
The goal is screening a 3 5 year old is to identify any factors that may impact the child s
communication, developmental health, or future academic performance (ASHA). At this age,
screenings may be mandated by a school, recommended by a doctor, or simply requested from a
family. For screenings, it is common to do an otoscope exam, pure tone test, and tympanogram
reading. The otoscope is used to make sure there are no foreign bodies or cerumen blocking the ear
canal (Oxford Medical). This would create an inaccurate screening. A pure tone test will identify the
faintest tone a person can hear at select frequencies. A way to screen this age group is with a strategy
called conditioned play audiometry during a pure tone test. With this, the child is asked to perform an
activity every time a tone is heard. The

Analysis of Three Books About Gorbachev
The history of the Soviet Union is complicated and fascinating. In the course of only seventy years
this country has seen the development of the totally new system of state, economic growth, the growth
of hopes for the brighter future , and then the sudden and expected by no one collapse of the whole
system leading to chaos, wars, and confusion. One period is especially important in order to realize
how did things finally started to change after the seventy years of blindly pursuing the dream of
communism which left the Soviet Union in a very bad economical and moral state, and this period is

This influence lasted for years and the fact that Gorbachev has become
westernized in his appearance, manners, dress and the image he projects of tolerance and cordial
behavior, all the small signs which mark him as different from the usual Komsomol and Party boss , is
according to Medvedev due to a great extent to the fact that Mlynar was Gorbachev s roommate
(Medvedev, 1986, p. 43).
Although the first part of the book is certainly interesting and important I would like to concentrate on
the second part of the book since it is directly deals with the subject that interests me most, that is the
years when Gorbachev was in power and the development of the new course in the Soviet life called

possibility of the implementation of the new policies. The
Gorbachev succession marks the appearance of a new political generation which differs from the old

generation, a generation which started its professional Party or state career during the more liberal

Social and Economic Development in Colonial Virginia in...
The seventeenth century marked the start of great colonization and immigration to the New World that
was North America. Mainly in on the eastern coast of what is now the United States, England
established colonies on this new land to thrive socially and economically. The English government
readily sent its citizens to America to exploit its abundant source of raw materials and the English
people exponentially came to the colonies to start a new life for themselves and to thrive socially. In
Virginia during the seventeenth century, the geographical attributes in this region allowed the

The land became rapidly exploited and cultivated to produce tobacco. After the establishment of this
cash crop, tobacco was glorified and largely advertised in both the colonies and England. As well as
its large cultivation of tobacco, its connection to what became known as the Chesapeake Bay served as
a prominent economic aspect to Virginia. By mid century, the establishment of indentured servants
had been regulated and used frequently by plantation owners. This being a prominent factor to
Virginia s social development, its downfall and rise of slavery also played a prime role in social
transformation. Bacon s Rebellion in 1676 was the first rebellion in the colonies and it largely resulted
in the hardening of racial lines with slavery. The plantation owners and farmers now saw it as a
dangerous asset to have white indentured servants as workers and also saw having slaves as a much
higher profit. By the establishment of the Virginia colony and its use of producing the tobacco cash
crop, boatloads of slaves were brought to work and profit the upper class plantation owners. What
became known as the Middle Passage became nothing more to the white upper class than profit and
population increase. At the end of the seventeenth century, it was established that 40,000 people lived
in Virginia however the number of slaves brought to the colony was unknown. With the progression

is one primary example that demonstrates the influences an economic system can have on a nation. It
was a prominent system throughout the Middle Ages in Western Europe. Manorialism is considered
the economic side of feudalism, a political system where kings in Europe gave away land to nobles in

Gold and silver brought the great wealth of European nations as well as the enslavement of the African

...great quantities of gold and silver are no longer found upon the surface of the earth, as they have

silver began to reduce, this is why they had to dig deeper into the earth. Therefore it was essential for
Europe to get laborers to work in the mines colonies because Spaniards were unwilling to do the work
and the Native Americans were unable to do work due to the Emperors freed them. Michele Soriano
also writes, The fifth part of all that is produced goes to the king, but since the gold and silver is

Women, Gender Gap and Voting Behaviors
Women, Gender Gap and Voting Behaviors
By: Sarah Langenwalter
Women have always had so many different and interesting behavior patterns; whether they are
patterns at home, at work, or even at the polls. Choosing this topic was easy, women are very unique
about everything, and I was curious to see the differences in the way we vote compared to men, the
gender gap. With the help of peer reviewed articles and other research, I am planning to explain the
gender gap as well as other voting behaviors that women perform. The peer reviewed articles that I
chose will be discussed in the following order: The Gender Gap: When an Opinion Gap is not a Voting
Bloc by Linda Bennett, How Do Female Spouses Political Interests Affect Male ... Show more content

Fifty one percent of the white women respondents and 48 percent of white men felt that Reaganomics
had made no difference to them personally (taUc .08), while two thirds of black women and 59
percent of black men surveyed felt that they had been personally hurt by the president s economic
program (taUc = .06) (Bennett, 619).

(Bennett, 624). The second article, How Do Female Spouses Political Interests Affect Male Spouses
Views about a Women s Issue? written by Eiji Yamamura in the Atlantic Economic Journal in 2010,

a gender gap. The main question of the research from this article is: How are an individual s political
views affected by the gender of family members or spouses? (Yamamura, 360). This researcher
believes that just like offspring have an effect on their parents and vice versa, so do married couples.
That is where gender gap comes into play; if spouses do have some sway on

in the industrial B2B market (ibid). Canon has both company owned and independent online forum
communities where users can discuss product features and share information and expertise with
others. Their social media advertising strategies so far appear to be successful with a large amount of
viewers, likes and followers with minimal criticism. This essay will analyze the different aspects of
Canon s strategy and answer the questions, how will Canon s ... Show more content on

We have mentioned the increased importance of B2B branding and the differences compared to B2C.
B2B branding has been shown to factor in emotions as well as rationality and relationships at a greater
extent than B2C (Leek Christodoulides 2011). How should Canon act to successfully brand itself in
this arena? According to Fournier Avery (2011) branding is shifting from differentiation to resonance.
Companies can achieve greater success by embedding themselves naturally in web conversations with
integrated brand messages . Then the question becomes, how can one apply this to B2B branding?
While it is important to emphasize the unique value proposition of Canon s products on mediums such
as the company s website, the emotional aspect could also be emphasized here to a greater

  • 2. Spanking In The United States Let s look at the results of this survey. All of the Republican voters believe that it is acceptable for someone to spank their children. On the other hand, 33 percent of Third Party voters agree with spanking while the other 67 percent disagree with spanking. The Democratic voters are the ones whose beliefs on spanking are quite evident only 13.86 of them agree with spanking while the rest, a whopping 86.14 percent, do not agree with spanking their children. Also, the fact that America has gradually become more and more liberal and has implemented liberal legislation into its government since then also explains why most liberals don t use corporal punishment, which is because they believe that corporal punishment is outdated. Another trend: since those who vote for Hillary Clinton carry their tolerance and empathy with them beyond the voting posts also tend to believe that corporal punishment is old fashioned, they will most likely not believe in using corporal punishment to discipline their children. This allows unique characteristics of every civilization around the world to become unified. Authors such as Andrew Marantz, Steve Olson, Leslie Savan, Manuel Munoz, Steve Olson, Kwame Anthony Appiah, and Malcolm Gladwell, all believe that the world can become a more unified place. They believe that through media, cultures are blending appearances, traditions, jobs, and social standards on which everyone can live together in a more peaceful world. Culturalization has made huge steps forward and will continue to make changes until the world is unified under the belief of cosmopolitanism. The definition of cosmopolitanism is that all human beings belong together in a single community (Dictionary). Kwame Anthony Appiah writes in his article Cosmopolitanism about how every human being who has ever been on the earth is essentially the same. He shares how everyone is the same at birth, but taught to have different beliefs (Appiah 68). Meaning that everyone was created the same and should be able to get along no matter what cultural beliefs people might obtain. Supporting this argument is the author of Small Change , Malcolm Gladwell. Gladwell describes an incident that took place on February 1, 1960, when the famous Greensboro sit ins occurred. Social standards during this time were to be segregated but that all began to change after these and many other sit ins. Word spread through the media about the events and by the end thousands of people were involved which sparked the Civil Rights movement (Gladwell 231). Gladwell discusses how with new social media today it is easy to become involved and learn about different world and cultural events. Maybe this is what will truly help the world turn the corner and create new social standards that will bring people together with a cosmopolitanism ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We never had any money and could never stay in one place for long. As I got older, I heard the speeches they told us kids, such as You can be anything you want when you grow up! and Follow your dreams! But now as I look around, I see fear and misery. People are depressed and angry at how their lives are going. Our government is selling our country to anyone with enough money. News has been reduced to sensationalized, misleading opinion pieces. Rent has gone up. House prices have gone up. Gas prices have gone up. All the while, wages have stayed the same. We are losing our privacy to lobbying, our rights are being taken away for the illusion of safety, and our politicians want to remove the safety nets that keep us from losing everything to unforeseen circumstances. Explain Why Some Working At Home Are More Productive Than... 91 Percent of People Who Work at Home Are More Productive Than at Work When the idea of working remotely comes up in a conversation, I find that people tend to respond in one of two ways: total dread or utter delight. Some professionals recall the risks and difficulties of working away from the office, while others rave about having the flexibility to create their own schedule and work environment. Regardless of how you work best and where you personally stand on the topic, it s worth considering the benefits of offering remote working opportunities to your team and organization. With clear expectations and guidelines in place, remote working can bolster productivity and build trust within your team. In fact, in a 2016 survey of American remote workers, 91 percent of people who work remotely revealed that they re more productive than when they re in an office. In some ways, remote working is similar to having teams in different locations or spread across various parts of the country. • 9. Language Death Essay Main Issues: The way in which our world functions today is a result of colonialization. Language death and linguistic endangerment is woven with colonialization and the history of oppression toward indigenous communities. We cannot speak of language death without first acknowledging the speakers and the systematic oppression that indigenous communities continue struggling to resist. In present time language shifts due to economic incentive of hegemony and the mediating role of language ideologies are two of the most important causes of language death. Language shift and language ideologies that ultimately cause language death are current consequences of colonialization. The death of a language has both of linguistic and cultural consequences to the particular community affected and to the world s diversity as a whole. Languages serve as carries of cultural knowledge, as identity and verbal art, hence when a language is lost cultural resources, identity and verbal art are lost. One of the most important causes of language death is language shifts due to economic incentives of hegemony. A language shift is when people adopt the language of the hegemonic society replacing their mother tongue in both their personal and professional lives (Mithum 1998:182). Each Dubliner has different problems, fears, hopes, and dreams, which allows culminates into many different perspectives. Joyce masterfully writes the daily lives of these people without any romanticism. The Dubliners stories are a small snippet into their full lives, while the reader does not get the full story, he does not need to. Not much may seem to happen in the stories, but profound themes and messages are hidden beneath the words. In the story An Encounter, a group of boys imagine they are in the Wild West, while staging mock battles of cowboys vs. Indians. The story includes many encounters that present themselves as ordinary; however this is far from true. In fact, the story is largely commentating on often mocking Irish religious life and escapism. In the beginning of the story one of the boys, Leo Dillon, is scolded by Father Butler for reading The Half Penny Marvel. Father Butler considers the comic as nonsense and tells Leo that his Roman History is far more cultured and important (Joyce 12). A religious figure like Father Butler is common among Joyce s works, as he has always shown contempt for religion. In a sense, Father Butler creates structure for the boys, but it is monotonous and rigid. Clearly Father Butler does not approve of Leo s fascinations for the Wild West so he condemns him. • 15. Romanticism In British Literature Romanticism is British Literature was never a real movement and was a word used to put the most distinctive writers who thrived in the last years of the 18th century and the first decades of the 19th centuries into a group. The term Romantic literature was actually a little bit misleading since there were no movements of romanticism back then. The writers back in that period did not call themselves Romantic writers, not until August Wilhelm von Schlegel s Vienna lectures of 1808 through 1809 showed a vague difference between Classicism and Romanticism. The examples of the French Revolution had an impact on the Romantic Movement in other ways. Romanticism elevated the achievements of what it perceived as misunderstood heroic individuals and artists that altered society and legitimized the individual imagination as a critical authority which permitted freedom from classical notions of form in art. Other aspects of romanticism were intertwined with Emotion, Lyric Poetry, and Self. Increased activity from the imagination was achieved by more importance of the instincts and feelings of the authors. They generally called more attention towards the emotion as it was a necessary add on to make logic and reason. When this emphasis was added to the establishment of poetry, a very important transformation of focus happened. Wordsworth s definition of all good poetry as the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings marks a turning point in literary history. By finding the best ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Heavy Metal Assessment Of Cosmetic Products Essay Heavy metal assessment of some cosmetic products by ICP/OES Abstract: It has been shown that heavy metals toxicity to humans is as a result of long term or high level exposure to pollutants common in the environment including the air, water, food and numerous consumer products such as the cosmetics and toiletries. Cosmetics are seen as one of the most important sources of releasing heavy metals into the environment and the human biological system. Thus Cosmetic products must not be harmful under normal or foreseeable conditions of use. Four different samples of cosmetics (Foundation, Kohl, Blusher, and Lipstick) were analyzed in Al Madina SAES laboratory for water and food analysis to determine the levels of heavy metals (As, Pb, Zn, Hg, and Cu) in the products. • 26. Boasting In Beowulf Why does Beowulf boast? Beowulf boasts because he believes he is more powerful and more valuable than the rest of the people. When Unferth told Beowulf that he boasts about things he shouldn t, Beowulf defends himself by continuing boasting. He goes on to say that the things he does are difficult for the average and he is stronger than given credit for. He says this when he says that the simple truth is that no man swims in the sea as I can. He takes one of his powerful qualities and rubs it into the people s faces. He continues to describe all the powerful things he did in the sea, he states that he put his life at stake when he entered the sea. He swam with a sword and was ready at any moment to fight off a whale, shark, or any other sea creature. He boasts that even when a monster did manage to catch him and take him to the bottom of the sea, he was wise enough to stab the monster in the heart on his first try. He continues to brag about how he was capable of killing nine sea monsters. Beowulf is very self centered and proud of his accomplishments and he believes everyone else should be too. How is boasting viewed in Beowulf s day? In Beowulf s time period, boasting was viewed very differently than the way boasting is viewed in society today. In present day, boasting and bragging is considered rude, intolerable, disrespectful, and selfish. In the time setting of Beowulf, boasting was not as negatively looked upon as it is today. • 28. Object Oriented Programming Essay Designing a Class Tutorial for C++ OOP (Object Oriented Programming) The modern programming is based on the concept that program little and use more . The object oriented programming languages are playing a vital role in the industry of development. The OOP introduced following concepts: Split a program into set of tasks and sub tasks Develop functions for these tasks And reuse these functions with little or less modifications This lead a new term Reusability , which means that you have to write a function once and use the function again and again by calling the Object of that Class in which the function is present. You can also further implement the Class by adopting the rules provided by OOP. C++ is a good example of object oriented programming. Features of OOP There are many features of OOP, but the most common features are: Encapsulation Inheritance Polymorphism Abstraction Contracts Class The class is capsule that is used to encapsulate an abstract data type. When you define a class, you define a blueprint for a data type. The class itself does not defines data, its only gives the name concerning with the objects. However a class contains one or more than one objects. These objects are the operations which a class performs. In short, a class provides blueprints of objects. The basic syntax for a class is: Objects Objects are the actual operations and functions that a class performs. Each object has its own characteristics/properties/attributes and ... • 29. Fracking And The Public Health Hydraulic fracturing or fracking has become a concern both environmentally and in the public health sphere in Western Maryland. In analyzing these ideas, the environment and public health concerns intertwine in a discourse about the relationship on both power and knowledge. Fracking is a new issue for the state of Maryland to consider; therefore dominant narratives on this subject are still being developed and legitimized. Studies have been conducted in other regions around the world to analyze the various effects fracking has had on the environment and within communities, both economically and politically. However, despite the potential for Western Maryland to become a possible new site for fracking, there is a lack of literature that specifically analyzes the environmental and public health concerns as a discourse that may be detrimental to the people and the environment in this region. Also, as a result of fracking being a relatively new source of natural gas, there has yet to be a significant number of studies analyzing the health effects caused by fracking even in regions that have allowed fracking for a number of years. The Marcellus Shale underlies Western Maryland along with New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia and is the United States largest on shore natural gas reserve (Marcellus Shale Safe Drilling Initiative, 2015). In the Cruzan case the court stated that they did not have convincing evidence of Nancy s wishes because she did not have a living will. In the Cruzan case they only had Preponderance of evidence when they first decided they wanted to disconnect Nancy s feeding tube. Preponderance of evidence means that there is more evidence one way than the other. Preponderance of evidence differs from the first two evidences because you need little to no evidence to win a case. Most of this evidence is based off who is more believable. This also ties to how much money that was spent taking care of Nancy through out the years in the hospital because the family was fighting the court. In our text at the end it states the family would have had more evidence if her friends would have known her maiden name was Cruzan verses Davis. I think that this was their convincing evidence. • 31. What Are The Three Paradoxes Faced By Gustavsson At... The importance of managing paradoxes increases with the complexity of organizational environments. To successfully manage paradoxes organizational leaders must learn to deal with contradictions and embrace incompatible forces, rather than choose between them (Belasen). Three management paradoxes that Bjorn Gustavsson faces as Engineered Woods are the paradox of change and stability, the paradox of individuals and teams, and the paradox of direction and empowerment. This essay will discuss these three paradoxes faced by Gustavsson at Engineered woods. Engineered Woods is seeking flexibility so they can adapt to a changing market and transition to a specialty commodity. Gustavsson has to manage his pursuit of change in how the organization is managed, how it is organized and whom is carrying it out. At the same time individuals are promoting resistance and the need for stability in the work environment. Individuals wish to reduce uncertainty, and maintain a stable self concept propelled by consistency in their actions (Leana Barry 2000). Individuals give their best when they work in teams yet teams succeed when each individual pulls their own weight. In order for Gustavsson to succeed in his change management strategy, he needs to shift the organization from a vertical structure to a horizontal structure. He can breed more success and production if he can create more self managed teams. The paradox of direction that Gustavsson faces is that he wants to empower his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lessons to Live By In his book, Beyond Bumper Sticker Ethics, author Steve Wilkens discusses nine ethical views that are prevalent in cultures today. Although the systems are sometimes vague, and his discussions, a bit biased, I find myself fortunate because I seem to agree with most of his opinions that he lets slip. The first ethical belief that the author discusses is Cultural Relativism. It talks about the how diversity is becoming more and more apparent between different cultures worldwide. The author mentions that often customs that are unquestioningly accepted in one part of the world are considered abhorrent in another, for example: human sacrifice. Cultural Relativism claims that there are no absolute standards for moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... No crime would be anyone s fault. People would not take responsibility for their actions, and this world in fact, not be ethical at all. Egoism advocates the selfish pursuit of happiness, although it does seem to put more emphasis on selfishness than happiness. Utilitarianism, which is the next view discussed, keeps the pursuit of happiness, but eliminates selfishness. This system seems more socially inclusive, and its main slogan is the greatest happiness for the greatest number. To me, this is the most wishy washy chapter. One thing from this ethical view that I do agree with is that it offers a means of balancing individual freedoms with social obligations. While God does choose certain people to do certain things, we are all judged according to one standard and loved equally by God. Also, it would seem difficult to imagine a loving God who wants to torture his creatures. Of course He wants them to be happy. One problem I have with this view is that it says that actions are judged by their consequences. If this is true, then we can t know if our actions are good are bad because the decision is dependent on knowing the future. Also, if we chose one path, we would still not know what the results of the other choices would have been so how would one know if the one he made was the greatest good. Also, according to Utilitarianism, we must face the problems concerning the extent ( greatest number ) of actions. We would then have to face who would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The majority of HPV infections cause no severe symptoms and can be resolved spontaneously in two years. But some of them preserve and lead to premalignant condition or warts. The premalignant condition will increase the danger of several kinds of cancers, such as the cervix cancer, vulva cancer, vagina cancer, mouth cancer and throat cancer. • 36. Kinship Is Used For Cross Cultural Comparison Marshall Sahlins also effectively shows that there is a disadvantage among kinship being used for cross cultural comparison because interdependency tends to be found among many different groups regardless of their kinship models. Therefore because kinship exists in all cultures, and all cultures have interdependency in order for the relationships to function, it makes it easier to compare various cultures. It is also evident in another text called Witch Beliefs and Social Structure by Monica Wilson that those we consider kin do not automatically have affection for us therefore a strong bond may not always be present. Wilson greatly expresses that in the Nyakysua and the Pondo tribes, witchcraft is usually practiced and aimed towards those who are in the same village. It is especially more likely to happen if these individuals are always talking about their good fortunes to their families, they are likely to become a target of witchcraft. Sometimes these people are related by blood, but even though they might be, this example puts forth that even though kinship is found among these cultures, it does not mean that these people share a relationship with each other and not individuals themselves value kinship in the same way, therefore it is disadvantageous to use kinship when comparing cultures. It seems that in order for people to have a kinship bond with each other they have to be somewhat similar in one way or another but do not have to be blood related. Radcliffe Brown ... In an arena when we could talk about the success of the Human Gene Project, the enormous amount of complete sequences for different organisms and the research findings that are being published every day, the growth of biological data has been characterized with a very high pace. The screenings given are comprised of two parts: the Fluharty Speech and Language test, and an audiology pure tone screening including a look in the ears with an otoscope. The otoscope is used to make sure there are no foreign bodies or cerumen blocking the ear canal (Oxford Medical). This would create an inaccurate screening.
