This document summarizes a study that analyzed the performance of shuttle bus operations at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) using a single-server queue system model. The study found that the shuttle bus system had a 93% performance level, indicating it was able to meet student demand. The methodology involved modeling the shuttle bus system as a single-server M/M/1 queue, where arrivals and services follow a Poisson process. Key concepts discussed include Poisson processes, Laplace transforms, and modeling queue systems. The study replicates the methodology of a similar prior study at FUTA to analyze shuttle bus performance.

In contrast to prior investigations, we focus primarily on determining the next time period in this research. The fuzzy time series is employed as the forecasting basis, the rate of change is used to build the set of universes, and the Holt's double exponential smoothing method is utilized to forecast the following period in this case study. The number of railway passengers predicted for January 2020 is 38199, with a tiny average forecasting error rate of 0.89 percent and a mean square error of 131325. It can also help rail firms identify future passenger needs, which can be used to decide whether to expand train cars or run new trains, as well as how to distribute tickets.

Adaptive traffic lights based on traffic flow prediction using machine learni...IJECEIAES
Traffic congestion prediction is one of the essential components of intelligent transport systems (ITS). This is due to the rapid growth of population and, consequently, the high number of vehicles in cities. Nowadays, the problem of traffic congestion attracts more and more attention from researchers in the field of ITS. Traffic congestion can be predicted in advance by analyzing traffic flow data. In this article, we used machine learning algorithms such as linear regression, random forest regressor, decision tree regressor, gradient boosting regressor, and K-neighbor regressor to predict traffic flow and reduce traffic congestion at intersections. We used the public roads dataset from the UK national road traffic to test our models. All machine learning algorithms obtained good performance metrics, indicating that they are valid for implementation in smart traffic light systems. Next, we implemented an adaptive traffic light system based on a random forest regressor model, which adjusts the timing of green and red lights depending on the road width, traffic density, types of vehicles, and expected traffic. Simulations of the proposed system show a 30.8% reduction in traffic congestion, thus justifying its effectiveness and the interest of deploying it to regulate the signaling problem in intersections.

The main objective of this research is to know the comparison of the use of mode as a reference in developing the type of facility needed at the train station. Planning for the preparation of these needs can be done by means of an interview survey for passengers on the Surabaya-Lamongan (SULAM) commuter train in Lamongan-Surabaya on weekdays. In some modes, like motorbikes and cars, they are still classified again. For example, motorbike use is divided into several categories, namely: private vehicles (delivered, carried alone), online services, and traditional gojek. In the use of cars also divided into several categories, namely: Private Vehicles (delivered, carried alone), online services, and conventional taxi. The categories in both types of modes are gap analysis of this study. The benefit of being made a category for both types of modes is to plan the type of facility needed for vehicles to stop both inside and outside the train station. The type of facility type planning, is a renewal of this research, because previous research was limited to the comparison of vehicles used. A New Paradigm in User Equilibrium-Application in Managed Lane PricingCSCJournals
Ineffective use of the High-Occupancy-Vehicle (HOV) lanes has the potential to decrease the overall roadway throughput during peak periods. Excess capacity in HOV lanes during peak periods can be made available to other types of vehicles, including single occupancy vehicles (SOV) for a price (toll). Such dual use lanes are known as “Managed Lanes.” The main purpose of this research is to propose a new paradigm in user equilibrium to predict the travel demand for determining the optimal fare policy for managed lane facilities. Depending on their value of time, motorists may choose to travel on Managed Lanes (ML) or General Purpose Lanes (GPL). In this study, the features in the software called Toll Pricing Modeler version 4.3 (TPM-4.3) are described. TPM-4.3 is developed based on this new user equilibrium concept and utilizes it to examine various operating scenarios. The software has two built-in operating objective options: 1) what would the ML operating speed be for a specified SOV toll, or 2) what should the SOV toll be for a desired minimum ML operating speed. A number of pricing policy scenarios are developed and examined on the proposed managed lane segment on Interstate 30 (I-30) in Grand Prairie, Texas. The software provides quantitative estimates of various factors including toll revenue, emissions and system performance such as person movement and traffic speed on managed and general purpose lanes. Overall, among the scenarios examined, higher toll rates tend to generate higher toll revenues, reduce overall CO and NOx emissions, and shift demand to general purpose lanes. On the other hand, HOV preferential treatments at any given toll level tend to reduce toll revenue, have no impact on or reduce system performance on managed lanes, and increase CO and NOx emissions.

Pakistan. A survey of all the existing public transport stops on University Road Peshawar conducted for
identification of bus lane. Peak hour demand was calculated in terms of actual Passengers per hour per
direction (Pphpd)along the entire corridor which acts a warrant test for the provision of a separate lane for
public transport vehicles in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System. Saturation Levelsand Dwell Times (sec)at every
stop both for busses and for wagons usingfrequency, clearance time, amount of boarding and alighting
passengers and journey time of existing public transport system were analyzed.From data analysis,
theSaturation Levels and Dwell Times at every stop were found higher than the recommended values mainly
because of the obstruction due to private vehicles in front of public transport vehicles,a comparatively high
percentage of private vehicles with respect to public transport vehicles and the prolong stay of drivers atbus
stops. The Saturation Levels and Dwell Times (sec) for the proposed BRT system was re-analyzed. Finally,
result of the proposed BRT system was incorporated in S-Paramics software to develop a public transport
model.

harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.

However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
