Course Description
ART APPRECIATION
Art Appreciation is a three- unit course that
develops students’ ability in appreciating,
analyzing, and criticizing works of art. This
course aims to provide an avenue for
college students to gain a better
understanding and genuine appreciation of
the arts.
ARTAPP030
By means of an interdisciplinary approach (Humanities, History
and Philosophy), this course will equip the students with a
broader knowledge of the arts along with its practical,
historical, philosophical and social importance which seeks to
directly oppose the prevalent notion that “arts are only for
entertainment”. Hence, this course will explore the different
dimensions of arts in general, while steadfastly retaining the
Filipino cultural identity in all its diversity and richness.
Through lecture, research, and project making, it is expected that students must have

of knowledge to further humanize their lives.
