LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Summer 2016Abstract When you hear the word Bacteria you automatically assume the worst; you
would conclude that it means something is contaminated or can be harmful. But in all actuality
that is not the case. Bacteria is used in laboratories every single day. It can be used to create
medicines and vaccines and can even be found naturally occurring in our food and environment. To
change the stigma that comes with bacteria, it had to be studied and researched and one of those
methods of research would be the streaking method. Streaking, created by Robert Koch, is a
technique used to isolate a pure stain of species of microorganism . Samples are taken from the

This procedure describes the use of a mixed broth culture, where the culture contains many
different bacterial species. The specimen streaked on a plate could come in a several of forms,
such as solid or liquid samples and cotton or foam swabs. Material containing possibly infectious
agents should be handled in the lab using proper bio safety procedure. Remove the test tube cap;
Insert the loop into the culture tube and remove a loopful of broth. Replace the cap of the test tube
and place it back into the test tube rack. The lid of the agar plate has to be opened just enough to
streak the plate with the inoculation loop. Be mindful of the amount of agar and the length of time
the agar is exposed to the environment during the streaking process. Also avoid talking over the
plates, this keeps the plate from becoming contaminated. Loosen the cap of the bottle containing the
inoculum. Hold an inoculation loop in your right hand and flame the loop and allow it to cool. Lift
the test tube containing the inoculum with your left hand. Dip the loop into the broth and lightly
touch a colony with the loop. Sightly lift the lid of the Petri dish containing the solid medium.
Place a loopful of the culture on the agar surface. Flame the loop and cool it for 5 seconds by
touching an unused part of the agar surface close to the ouster partition of the plate, and then
drag it rapidly several times across the surface of area1. Remove the loop and close the Petri
dish. Reflame and cool the loop, and turn the petri dish 90В° then touch the loop to a corner of
the culture in area1 and drag it several times across the agar in area 2, hitting the original streak
only a few times. The loop should never enter into area 1 again. Remove the loop and close the

3. Reflection Of Visual Art
1a. Central focus for the segment
The central focus of the lesson is for students to demonstrate and show use of space, contrast, and
balance while creating an original idea that displays and the use of positive and negative space in
an equal amount. The purpose is for students to understand the elements and principles of visual arts
, which are value, contrast and balance. Students also learn how these concepts are still being used
in today s society.
1b. Linking skills, knowledge, and context
This is a first year class, so many students are unfamiliar with terms, such as value, contrast, space,
and balance, in terms of art. The students are familiar with the words, but are unfamiliar with how it
pertains to art. New definitions and techniques are introduced in this lesson. Students will continue
to use these new vocabulary terms in future lessons.
In this project students are required to make a total positive space image. To complete this,
students are to use line and shape in their design. The previous projects and lessons in this course
focused on the use of line and shape, so this project reinforces those terms and techniques so
students will use them in future projects.
The last aspect of this assignment is for students to see how the use of space makes interesting
designs. I show the students images of logos and symbols that effectively use positive and negative
space. With this, students can relate to the images and see how these techniques are still being used

Johnson Johnson: Planning Vertical Integration
Team Synergy
April 4, 2011
In a competitive market to which Johnson and Johnson operates, the smallest of errors can lead to
consequences which can cut revenue. When large mistakes occur, millions of dollars are lost, and
even worse, there is a loss of customer confidence. Johnson and Johnson has had numerous recalls
in their consumer healthcare division recently, which rocked the organization s once sound image,
and diminished its profits. These recalls have hurt Johnson and Johnson s stocks and cost the
company about $900 million in sales last year (Rockoff, 2011).

The vertical integration of J J into health services was a win win for the company, employers
targeted as customers, and employees (Sarasohn Kahn, 2008). The expanded growth capability
through acquiring companies in the downstream will continue to help the organization offer more
products and services. The current problem is that with various product offerings the quality and
safety guidelines may have been overlooked. The product recalls have been a result of poor quality
management and errors in the manufacturing process. The key benefits of backward vertical
integration are: more control over the manufacturing of J J products, advanced technology, and
more trusted industry experience. If J J has greater control over the upstream (selection of raw
materials, production, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution) then greater stability and higher
quality goods will be sent to retailers.
Implementing Solutions
In order for Johnson Johnson to achieve success in its vertical integration process, they need to

members (SOQ) and to oversee the full supply chain processes. This role will be known as the
Senior Director of Quality. Within the next 30 days, a Cross functional team made up of the CEO,

5. Essay On Don Quixote
Don Quixote is considered the most influential work of literature. It has been around for more
than four hundred years. It is still being read and it is a work that is dear to many people s hearts.
The story is mainly about an older individual named Alonso Quixana who lives in La Mancha in
central Spain. After, he read thousands of book about knights he started to go insane and decides to
change his name to Don Quixote. So, when he finished all his books he started to believe that he
was one. In this piece Don Quixote experiences love, morality, law, justice and much more. But,
reality and fantasy are two major points in this story. This story is very much related in the 21st

has been going around in today s world is Dreamers those who have immigrant parents that were
brought to the United States in order to have a better life. These people s dreams have been
ruining more and more each day because there is little to no hope left in achieving those goals.
An impactful quote that was said in Don Quixote was, I do know who I am, and who is in my
depth has nothing to do with your ideas and with your expectations about me (book) What this
quote is trying to tell it s audience is that sometimes our highest most outrageous goals sometimes
seem untouchable and we get scared when other see us trying to reach that goal. The Scientific
Journal of Humanistic Studies states, Being something, someone, having an established identity is
comfortable, but becoming someone is risky (Cun 3). Having a dream isn t unhealthy or
dangerous nor is being imaginative either. But, the population tends to believe that if you are an
imaginative person you are going insane. Which is not the case, this is the reason why Don
Quixote de la Mancha became such a modern character. He was someone who desired to become
someone, and to be able to metamorphose the world in a more favorable way. At the time this book
was written reality and fantasy were two completely opposite terms, no one had ever thought to put
those two together. Cervantes sure made a bold

7. Weary Blues By Langston Hughes
Poetry is a form of literature that is expressive and can sometimes communicate a message more
effectively than prose. It can be filled with literary elements and vivid language that can help poets
relay their message to the readers. What is fascinating about poetry, is that each poem can relate to
a person in multiple ways. In the poems Harlem and Weary Blues Langston Hughes uses language
that effectively communicates the overall themes of both poems and relates to the African
American experience at the time. The literary elements used in Harlem help Langston Hughes
effectively communicate the overall theme of dreams and its relation to the African American
experience. The poem Harlem is about a deferred dream and what happens to... Show more content

The poem Weary Blues is about a black man singing the blues and how he uses the music to
portray his life. The usage of similes, metaphors, and personification enhance the poem and
allows for Hughes message to effectively be conveyed. In line 10 Hughes writes, He made the
poor piano moan with melody. The usage of personification in this line gives the piano human
characteristics and readers can understand that the music the African American is playing is
melancholy. The dramatic personification clearly sets the mood of the poem. Line 10 is a
metaphor as well, describing the piano as a poor piano which helps create an image for the reader.
From the poem and its expressive language, readers find out that the man is singing the blues,
which is known to be a sad and depressing genre. Throughout the poem, the black man is singing
about his life and how it s filled with loneliness, troubles, and unhappiness. This was probably a
common feeling throughout many African Americans at the time due to social restrictions and
their suppressed lives. In line 35 Hughes writes, He slept like a rock or a man that s dead. The
powerful simile here ends the poem in an effective way. He slept like a rock shows that the man s
sleep was so deep and or man that s dead shows that it was as if he weren t even alive. In line 30 the

8. Ethics And Morality In Dao s Death
Dao is about balance and harmony. It s about avoiding the extremes. There would have to have
been Daoist assassins, according to the rules set by the Dao, if there were no assassins, then the
Dao would be unbalanced. Since Dao is about balance and harmony, one cannot exist without the
other. If there are life givers, then there would have to be life takers. Daoism teaches that the
universeis a balance of opposites: male and female, light and dark, low and high. In each case,
opposing forces should be in harmony. However, the problem arises, who would give the
commands to kill? Would it be random?
The Zhuangzi, expresses the idea of people being inherently karmically evil, [1] so it would be
very easy for a human to become corrupt, even the purest emperor. Based on this idea we would
have to believe that the people chosen to be assassinated couldn t be decided by a human. Then
who, or would it be more of a what; what would deciding factor? The question of morality and
ethics comes into play. Morality and ethics are philosophical words or names. Would an assassin
be restricted by ethics and morality? Or would they be exempt? The Daoist concerns of humanity

9. A Brief Note On Stones River National Battlefield
Stones River National Battlefield Stones River Battlefield was an obvious choice for this
assignment. I live and study in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I know that there is a lot of history in the
area, but it is not often that we encounter this history on a daily basis. It is important to know about
the historybecause it helps us to understand the present and the culture of any area. I found that
this battlefield was actually very important to the events of the Civil War, therefore, I knew that
this would be a great place for me to visit for this assignment. There really is not that much
literature readily available about the Battle of Stones Riveror the Battlefield. Therefore, taking the
battlefield in in person becomes even more critical. It is amazing to see that the battlefield has
been preserved as well as it has been especially given the rapid industrialization that has occurred
in the city where it is located. I was able to locate a publication printed by the National Parks
Service that explains how the battlefield changed in the early 1990s. From this publication, I
found some startling information. The battlefield is located near a part of Murfreesboro that is
rapidly expanding and has been for some time. Not surprisingly, many of the original structures
have been completely removed to make way for housing divisions and shopping strip malls. During
the Civil War, there was a farmhouse located near the battlefield. The Confederate soldiers had to

10. The Community Needs Assessment For The Town Of...
The idea behind the community needs assessment for the town of Wallingford, Connecticut was to
critique the overall nutritional needs and health of the community. While preparing a community
needs assessment, some factors to consider are: government, programs both profit and non profit,
demographics, and the economy of the community. Wallingford, Connecticut is a relatively
small town just breaking 45,135 residents. Situated between New Haven and Hartford it is
approximately thirty nine square miles. Wallingford has a mayor council type of government;
being led by Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. who has been in office as mayor for thirty years.
The town has also inputted a charter of which has been effective since January 1, 1962. In
addition to the mayor, voters elect the town council, the board of education and the state legislator.
The town council elects two chairman in addition to various other members. A superintendent
leads the board of education; as of right now Salvatore Menzo holds the position. The board of
education is then broken down to a chair and vice chair in addition to various representatives under
these positions. The state legislator representing the town of Wallingford is Mary Muchinsky, 85th
district. Wallingford s population consists of 51% females and 49% males. Although the ratio of
males to females is nearly half and half this isn t the case with nationalities in the town. The

body but of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king
of England too (1588) Elizabeth I, knew in reality she could not lead her troops into battle but
she wished she could. The people of England had great respect for her and she had respect for the
people. Therefore making Queen Elizabeth I and her speech one of the most successful Tudor
speeches in history. Humanism had a massive impact to Tudor literary. Humanists searched for
wisdom achieved by ancient Greece and Rome. Aristotle s who was a well known Greek
philosopher, introduced humanism. He believed in mortal which was the soul and immortal, which
was the body. Elizabeth I most famous speech was given to her troops gathered at Tilbury, to fight

Wal Mart Health Care Dilemma
There have been some concerns about Wal Mart s treatment of its employees, suppliers, the
environment, and the overall economic impact on communities. Wal Mart has been criticized by
some community groups, women s rights groups, grassroots organizations, and labor unions,
specifically for its extensive foreign product sourcing, low wages, low rates of employee health
insurance enrollment, resistance to union representation, sexism, and management efforts to

Key Stakeholders
With any business there are always stakeholders. These people are influenced by businesses.
However, they also have the ability to influence businesses. Consequently, the relationship between
businesses and stakeholders is a two way street. According to Ferrell, Ferrell, and Fraedrich (2010),
In a business context, customers, investors and shareholders, employees, suppliers, government
agencies, communities, and many others who have a stake or claim in some aspect of a company s
product, operations, markets, industry, and outcome are known as stakeholders (p. 30).
Although most corporations have emphasized shareholders as the most important stakeholder
group, the failure to consider all significant stakeholders can lead to ethical lapses. Stakeholders
are likely to shift their prospective of a company after unethical actions have been exposed to the
public. The key stakeholders in this situation are the Wal Mart associates, taxpayers, and
shareholders. The stakeholder model of corporate social responsibility considers obligations firms
may face as moral agents to employees, customers and other stakeholders. Most employees rely on
their employer to provide some type of health care benefits because most cannot afford health

The child s engagement in imaginative or fantasy play is typically of a preschooler s functioning

suggesting his age and development is consistent with the expectations of a preschooler. According
to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) social and emotional developmental

17. The Role Of Women In William Shakespeare s Macbeth
Women were thought as second class citizens and were not given a large role in society.
Throughout history, women have a limited amount of work they are permitted to do, and are
confined to doing housework. The role women had was teaching and taking care of the children at
home, cleaning the house, and cooking and having food ready for the husbands when they come
home after work. As evidence of characterization of female characters in Macbethby William
Shakespeare, the Elizabethan period had a lack of respect for women, but Shakespeare changed it
by having powerful, strong and independent female characters, like Lady Macbeth. Throughout
history, women have not had the same amount of right and respect as the men. Women were
regarded as the weaker sex , not just in terms of physical strength, but emotionally too (Sharnette).
According to Shakespeare s World/Stage, During the time of William Shakespeare, the majority
of women had very limited rights in England. Despite the fact that England was ruled by a female
monarch for over four decades, most women had little power over the direction of their lives
(Stephan). Once women were married, they were expected to bring a dowry, which is an amount
of money, goods, or property that the bride would bring to the marriage. After marriage Elizabethan
women were expected to run the households and provide children (Alchin). At the time of
Shakespeare, England was rule as a monarch, but the father and son still ruled

The Cold War occurred after the traumatic events of World War 2, that lasted almost 50 years,

We made errors by thinking that we will constantly fail, and then we get too scared to try.
And so do we make mistakes on those life lessons? Yes. Do we learn from them? Yes.
I mean, I could go on and on about every single teacher in our lives that have impacted us, and

The moral of the story is, we learn things that help us become better people. That s called growth.

The Absurd
It is safe to say the idea of absurdism can be linked to meaningless, and other such words that
express a destination without the means to there and vice versa. In Camus famous fictional novel,
he shows how one s perception of life can be effected when faced with death. The Stranger reflects
Camus philosophical stance on absurdism. There is no truth, no certainty, or any unwavering, non
relative laws in life. There is no sense in pursuing impossibilities. But if life is in a sense pointless,
why continue living?
It seems as if Meursault does not want himself to be happy. This can be assumed from reading
the text. More specifically from chapter six of the Stranger on pages forty seven through fifty
nine. He could have had new job which would have paid substantially more in Paris, a loving
girlfriend whom wanted to marry him despite his flaws, and seemingly reliable and trustworthy
friends. Meursault had so many doors open for him filled with opportunities but he throws all his
chances of happiness away once he murders the Arab man on the beach.
Existence can be categorized as standing out or doing something that sets you aside from others
and the environment. Meursault s only desire was to be free from hope because hope meant that
there was a disconnection between who he should ve been and who he actually was. His only
wish was to almost blend into his environment or in other words become invisible to society so he

29. The Importance Of Artificial Stutrition And Hydration
I will argue that withdrawing artificial nutrition and hydration is not morally different from
withdrawing other types of life sustaining treatment. I will argue the opinion using the ethical
principle of beneficence, researching medical treatments of artificial nutrition and providing

In the vignette of Ms. Conrad, I argue reasons for removing a Nasogastric Intubation (NG) to reduce

Life sustaining treatment refers to all treatments which have the potential to postpone a patient s
death. Examples of such treatments include those of mechanical ventilation, dialysis,
cardiopulmonary resuscitation, antibiotics, and artificial nutrition and hydration. I believe that
withdrawing artificial nutrition is not morally different from other types of life sustaining
treatment. Artificial nutrition and hydration is a medical treatment that allows a person to receive
nutrients when they are unable to take them by themselves. The treatment is provided by medical
professionals through an intravenous administration or by methods of inserting a tube in the patient
s stomach. The reasons why this particular treatment is not morally different is because the
procedure is at inconvenience to the patient; not at the patient s comfort. Artificial nutrition and

32. Lenzing Ag Case
Lenzing AG: Expanding in Indonesia
Case Review
Summary
Lenzing AG is one of the worlds largest rayon fiber manufacturers, originating in Lenzing, Austria.
In 1938 Lenzing AG was founded, starting pulp and viscose fiber production.
Up until the 1980 s, Lenzing was a company that held its production and management in the same
country and town where the company had originated. Until one day , the Chairman of Lenzing had
agreed to go into a joint partnership with an international investor. The joint venture was with an
Indian entrepreneur by the name of Ashok Birla, who saw opportunity in Indonesia for Lenzing and
the rayon industry within. Lenzing viewed this as an opportunity to break out of their domestic
Austrian market, and tap ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a producer of rayon, Lenzing s most important fundamental constituent is dissolving grade
pulp. This is a rather uncommon form of pulp, in which they have been purchasing from Brazil to
their production plant in Indonesia. This would be viewed as a weakness, as in Indonesia there
are 14 pulp producers, none with the technology to create the dissolving grade pulp, but pulp none
the less. I believe that Lenzing has an opportunity to create an agreement with one or more of these
local pulp producers, to enable them to produce the necessary grade of pulp.
As rayon requires a large amount of pulp for its production, they have purchased a percentage of a
company in Brazil to meet their pulp needs. For Lenzing, this was a valuable purchase and has
made it possible for them to continue the production of rayon in Indonesia. Although, I believe that
there is an opportunity locally that would satisfy their need for pulp. Indonesia has 14 producers of
pulp, none of them with the technology to create the required grade that is needed in the
production of rayon. Rather than purchasing a percentage of the pulp company in brazil, and
having to ship the pulp time after time internationally, it could have been a more economical
transaction with the Indonesian pulp companies. There could have been an opportunity to

33. Study Of Organisms Living On The Rocky Shore Essay
On Wednesday the 9th of March, Students from Sacred Heart College Travelled by Bus to Siren s
Rock s which lies between Owhiro Bay and Island Bay. At Siren s rocks we had to explore the
rocks and collect data of all the different species we found at the rocky shore. The rocky shore is
an intertidal place where solid rocks predominate. It is useful for the study of Organisms living on
the rocky shore. The rocky shore consists of the low tide, mid tide, high tide and splash zones. We
used quadrats to sample which species was located in these zones and we did this when the tide
was low. Quadrats is a sampling method used to see which organisms are located in certain
proportions. The species I have chosen to talk about in my report today is one type of Limpet and
one type of Top Shell. The common name for the Limpet I found is the Golden/ Radiate Limpet of
whose scientific name is Cellana Radians which was found in the lower intertidal zone. The Cellana
Radians is predated by starfish, whelks and shore birds. The Limpet is an herbivore because it
eats Algae and Angiosperm which both are types of growing plants located within the rocky
shore. The common name for the species of Top shell I found was actually Scorched Monodont
whose scientific name is Diloma (Melagaphia) Aesthiops which is also found in the Lower
intertidal name zone. The Diloma (Melagraphia) Aesthiops is predated by starfish, shore crabs and
coastal reef fish. The Diloma (Melagraphia) Aesthiops is also an

appeal to consequences. In the United States, it is illegal to make or download copies of

become a more prominent idea within the past twenty years. Elephants are killed for their tusks

The poaching of elephants for their tusks has driven the animal in some countries such as Sierra

Marijuana has been used long before it showed up in the United states. It was widly popular and

50. The Traditional American Family
The traditional American family can be traced back to the aggressive marketing in the 1950 s.
The image of a white, middle class family owning a moderate sized home with a well kept lawn.
The father is the head of the household who would teach his kids all the life lessons and be the
only source of income by working a white collar, corporate job. The mother would stay at home
in a full skirt and heels looking after the kids, preparing meals, and taking care of the house. The
kids, usually two, would be well behaved and well dressed. This view of the familyis narrow and
rigid, but through aggressive media portrayals has come to be viewed as normal and ideal.
Shows such as Leave it to Beaver and Father knows best reinforced that idea of a good family
eating together at dinner, praying together, and being proud of the nation. Today, that ideal
family image still holds its place in today s culture, but there has been a dramatic shift from that
ideal to a more diverse representation of the American family. The tradition family has become a
sort of fairy tale that can never be achieved. It is now more common to see both parents working
to support the family, more women are breaking into the workforce and even fathers are staying
home to be the caretaker. A closer look at the data from suggests the traditional family ideal failed
to be widely accepted and instead media outlets are scrambling to capture the image of the modern
family.

51. The Cost Of Passenger Cruise
1.After running two different regression models using passenger cruise days and number of
passengers to predict which variable better estimates total cost, the data (including a slightly
higher adjusted r squared) suggests the number of passenger cruise days acts as a better
predictor of total costs. The number of passenger cruise days is more economically plausible
because it is more logical to allocate the costs based on the number of passenger cruise days
rather than the number of passengers. More specifically, number of passengers does not fully
explain the amount of total costs because of the varying duration of trips. For example, consider
an instance where Carnival accommodates one thousand passengers on a four day cruise and
one thousand passengers on a seven day cruise. Theoretically total costs would be the same
when using number of passengers to explain total costs because each cruise accommodates the
same number of passengers. On the other hand, when one considers the length of a cruise, total
costs should be higher for longer cruises. Per the example above, a seven day cruise will have
higher costs than a four day cruise because of the additional resources needed to accommodate
