British Rule Dbq
The colonists had many reasons to not obey the king. The reasons are, the colonists were able to
govern themselves for years and now British wants control, even though they have taken care of
themselves for a long time. Also the colonists weren t equally represented. Lastly there was
Salutary Neglect, which is the unofficial British Policy that enforced laws on american colonists.
Additionally, the colonists were governing themselves for a while and now the british want control
over them. They were able to make the laws and taxes for themselves. In the document Government
it states a charter listing a number of rights that most colonist thought they should have. For
example, the King passed The Stamp Act and The Quartering Act, which taxed the colonists on
stamps and imported item. Also the proclamation of 1763 angered the colonist. This was a line
which the colonists and indians couldn t cross. This area is also known as the Appalachian

Podiatry Rhuematoid Arthritis
Introduction Throughout this essay I shall critique the available evidence regarding rheumatoid
arthritis (RA); particularly concerning the conclusions on its aetiology, diagnosis techniques,
pharmacological management, physical therapeutics and surgical treatment interventions. I shall
explore the expected prognosis and the key developments we can expect in the future. Aetiology
and Prevalence RA is a chronic, systemic and inflammatory disease that progressively impacts
peripheral joints (Panayi 2011).The damage that occurs is predominantly symmetrical and
polyarthropathic (Rindfleisch Muller 2005). It affects the host s joint synovial membranes, tendon
sheaths and bursae and causes stiffness, pain and swelling to the joints... Show more content on

Genetics influence a high percentage of cases; according to de De Vries (2011), 50 60% of sero
positive and 30 50% of sero negative cases are influenced by hereditary factors. A greater
understanding of this area could bring new found appreciation of RA pathogenesis and
treatment methods (Mikuls 2012). Relationship of increase RA incidence with smoking is
reported widespread in literature (Fisher 2012, Klareskog 2008, Sugiyama 2010, Mahdi 2009).
Interaction occurs between two copies of HLA DR SE specific genes and smoking; specific
citrullinated protein antigens are induced by cigarette smoke which increases likelihood of RA.
This causes a 21 flod increase risk of RA in comparison to non smokers (Klareskog 2006).
Furthermore, literature dictates that peripheral vascular disease (PVD), steroid therapy and
prednisone use have consistent supportive evidence that shows increased risk of RA (Firth et
al.2008a, Maradit‐Kremers 2007, Wegner 2010). There is little evidence to dictate a common
infectious cause of RA, however some pathogenic organisms such as periodontitus, B19
parvovirus or Epstein Barr virus (EBV) virus may stimulate the disease by activating the B cells to
presence antibodies (Wegner 2010). There is inconclusive evidence to suggest that the diet or
breast implants play a role in the aetiology of RA (Tugwell et al 2001, Pattison 2006). Pathogenesis
In RA, the immune system cannot differentiate Major

The Persian Empire By Cyrus The Great
In 6th century BCE the Persian Empire was the main empire dominating most of the
Mediterranean Sea. It ran from part of modern Afghanistan and Pakistan in to modern day Turkey
and portions of Northern Greece. The Persian Empire was a strict state with powerful kings ruling
over the massive empire. The empire ruled over a vast ethnic group and proved to have success in
diversity, especially with Jews, whose history have been well documented with the Persian Empire.
The beginning of the Persian Empire is accredited to the wise guidance of a man known as Cyrus
the Great. Cyrus was a bright and influential Persian king whose approach for expanding the
Persian Empire was to conquer nearing lands with the goal of uniting them into one vast empire.
With his dexterous guidance and a solid military, Cyrus succeeded in fashioning a massive
empire that lasted for more than two hundred years. The strong roots and influences brought to
the Persian Empire by Cyrus gave the emperors after him much power, like Darius I, who
continued to enlarge the Empire. In the year 550 Cyrus the Great took power over the land of
Media. As he began to create a strong government he elected both Median and Persian nobles as
civilian officials. After conquering Media s people states throughout Anatolia soon fell under his
reign. He then even conquered lands in the area known as the Fertile Crescent. After this the Persian
Empire was enormous. Cyrus implemented a rule of toleration toward all his conquered

Risk Factors Of Cerebrovascular Stroke And Its Recurrence...
Risk factors of Cerebrovascular Stroke and its recurrence:
According to (Stroke Association, 2015 and WHO, 2016), the risk of recurrent CVS is up to
fifteen times more than the risk of CVS and is concerned with insufficient control of risk factors
and non adherence to medical advice. So that, identification of risk factors of recurrence is an
important role of the critical care nurses, plays a crucial role in further stroke recurrent prevention.
The risk factors for stroke recurrence divided into two types:
A.Non modifiable risk factors: individuals may not do anything to alter their stroke risk profile.
1 Age and Gender::
Stroke risk increases with age, doubling each decade after 55 years of age. Two third strokes
occur in individual older than sixty five years, but stroke, recurrent can occur at any age.
Advanced of age increase liability to chronic disease, and respectively higher rate of stroke
progression or its recurrence (Linton, 2015 and Grotta, et al. 2016). Regarding gender, strokes are
more common in men for occurrence and recurrence, due to increase liability for stressors either
physiological or psychological exposure (Hinkle Cheever, 2013 and Lewis, et al. 2015).
2 Ethnicity and Genetic or family history:
African Americans have a higher incidence of recurrent cerebrovascular stroke and higher death
rate from CVS than white people. In additional, black people are twice as likely to loss of life from
CVS and higher incidence of recurrence (Lewis, et al.

Similarities Between Warren Pryor And Richard Cory
Warren vs Richard Cory
Even though their tolerance toward adversity differs, both characters in the poems Warren Pryor
by Alden Nowlan and Richard Cory by Alrington Robinson prove that they share life similarities
when it comes to their personal sacrifices and opinions on the philosophical value of money.
Firstly, both characters in these works make self sacrifices to please others. In Warren Pryor, the
character gives up his dream to work in agriculture out of respect for his parents wishes as they
spend a fortune on his education towards being a banker. Likewise, the character in Richard Cory
sacrifices his happiness to uphold the wealthy and poised image society had for him. Ultimately,
these two men s actions lead to their internal emotional

NFL Draft Bust

come out of the draft, especially top 5 picks. However, not every pick can be perfect, so there are
often draft busts. However, there are none bigger than Ryan Leaf, Greg Oden, and Rick
DiPietro. Leaf, Oden, and DiPietro are their respective sport s biggest draft bust, but who is the
biggest draft bust of all time? Ryan Leaf, a quarterback from Washington State, was the second
overall pick in the 1998 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. Leaf had a very promising three
year college career. In his three years of college, Leaf had a completion percentage of 53.8,
7,433 passing yards, and a 59:24 touchdown to interception ratio. However, when he entered the
NFL, his stats were completely altered in his three year NFL career, and not in the good way.
His completion percentage dropped to 48.4, compiling only 3,666 passing yards, and an awful
14:36 touchdown to interception ratio. Before he entered the NFL, his passion for football was in
question and retiring after three seasons, he proved that his passion for the sport was never there.

Outline The Benefits Of Nutrition
In this speech, I will outline the job description, preparation, the advantages and disadvantages of a
career in Diet and Nutrition. Recent statistics published by the President s Council on Fitness,
Sports and Nutrition, indicate that more 12.5 million adults and children suffer from obesity in the
United States. By 2030, approximately 115 million adults are expected to be obese. This figure
represents nearly half of the adult population in America. To prevent the prevalence of obesity in
our nation, many individuals and businesses are hiring preventive health care professionals, such as
nutritionists and registered dietitians.

by the Commission ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

health related goals. It is very fulfilling to help others achieve their goals and aspire someone to
take control of their help. Having a nutritionist degree, you have a variety of jobs at your disposal.
Yet while becoming a nutritionist is not without its drawbacks, here are a few cons to consider
before pursuing the path: In order to earn a nutritionist degree, you will spend a lot of time and a
significant amount of money on your education. The requirements for becoming a nutritionist
vary state by state, so be sure to do your research first. Nutritionist work a total of 37.5 hours per
week Monday Friday. Which is a little less than an average work week for others. Dietitians
/Nutritionists have a very busy and lengthy schedule so you always have to be sure to use your
time sparingly and wisely. The best parts of becoming a dietitian/nutritionist to me would be
helping others achieve their health goals. Satisfying others and making them happy would be my
favorite part of the job. The worst part of the job would be the requirments to get the job and also

Climate Change Is The Global Climate System
Climate is part of our everyday lives. What we experience is the global climate system. According
to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, climate change is, a change of
climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity alters the composition of the
atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climatevariability observed over comparable time
periods. (Allen, Seaman Delascio, 2009) Australia s climate has warmed a lot more since 1910
by the average of 0.9 C. it has been rising dramaticllay since 1950 s.the daytime temperatures
have increased by 0.8 C whereas in the night time, we experience 1.1 C more heat than the people
living in 1900 s. (BOM CSIRO, 2014). In 2004 more than 234 newspaper articles have concluded
that we may have, in fact, reached the tipping point for the climate change. Walker (2006) believes
that this man made climate change has caused havoc on the earths atmosphere and the most
striking of all the components is the arctic. Farthest north is the carapace of sea ice over the Arctic
Ocean. South of that is the vast ice sheet that covers Greenland. And then there is the ocean
conveyor belt, which originates in a small region of the Nordic seas and carries heat and salt
around the world.
All three seem to have inbuilt danger zones that may deserve to be called tipping points. And the
outside forces pushing them towards those points are gathering. It has been found that the summer
sea ice has shrunk by an

The Rise Of The Arab Spring
With the spread of the Arab Spring, the revolutionary wave of demonstrations, riots, and civil
wars in the Middle East that began on 18 December 2010, pro democracy Syrians rose in
rebellion to the existing regime of Bashar al Assad, Syria s president. Assad s regime brutally
fought back and with the escalation in violence, Syriadescended into a civil war, with each side
scrambling for control over towns and cities (Rodgers). The Syrian government has committed
several war crimes such as torture, rape, murder and the use of chemical weapons, which led to the
death of thousands, in an attempt to crush the opposition movement and regain control over Syria.

Despite the fact that direct intervention in Syria could put USA s relationships with Russia and
Iran on the line, inaction would lead to a Syrian genocide and increasing war complexities. Any
US military intervention would have to take into account the impact it could have on the actions
and desires of myriad other actors: jihadist fighters, Islamist political players such as the Syrian
Muslim Brotherhood, and most prominently Assad s allies in Iran and Russia. (Lowy Institute).
These two nations have been very important players in the Syrian civil war as the Syrian
government s war arsenal is backed up with checks from these two countries. Assad s government
has spent these checks on arms and chemical weapons. The chemical weapons, however more
prominent, have been used against the rebels, killing thousands of people in addition to those killed
by torture and systematic murder (Pearlman). Assad has been claiming that the main reason he has
started this full fledged war is to suppress ISIS, which blossomed with the increasing complexity of
the civil war. However, multitudes of innocents have been killed on the sidelines, and Iran and
Russia have been important benefactors of this movement. U.S. intervention for humanitarian
reasons could indeed possibly provoke stronger involvement by Russia and Iran. However, the
direct involvement of these two countries in Syria

Impact Of The Neolithic And Bronze Age On Society
The impact of the Neolithic and Bronze Age societies on the environment The Neolithic is a time
period that relates to the later part of the Stone Age, when there was a lot of development of human
technology in regards to stone tools and the beginning of farming. The Bronze Age was a time
period characterized by the use of bronze and writing that indicated features of urban civilization.
There were many different approaches that were used to evaluate the relationship between
agricultureand social change in the Neolithicand Bronze Age societies. For instance, Fagan
suggested in Floods, Famine, and Emperors that the growing human population exceeds the
capacity to maintain it. Additionally, the Neolithic, was a time period of over exploration... Show

One approach that deals with this was proposed by Bonnet who suggested that there is no
extinction and if there was god would replace it. This is important because many people during the
Neolithic and Bronze Age were not concerned with the possible environmental damage that could
be done, instead they continued to use resources and migrate when they had used all of the
resources in a specific area. This was also discussed by Hughes in What Is Environmental History?
who stated Humans see themselves as separate from nature, above nature, and in charge of nature.
This statement is true of modern society, but it was also relevant for the agricultural societies
during the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Farming became very important in these agricultural
societies, which caused most people to settle in one place where there crops would grow and exploit
the environmental supplies in the area. This agricultural change also lead to social change because
many began to form civilizations and communities around cropping regions which was very
damaging to the environment where these civilizations were located. Extreme exploitation of
environmental resources was one reason Neolithic and Bronze Age societies suffered environmental

Sororities as a Social Institution Essay
When one first thinks of Greek life or a sorority the only thing that comes to mind is the social
aspect. Most people don t think of sororities as social institutions that envelop their own culture,
with mannerisms, languages and customs that are unique to each individual organization. However,
these institutions promote a common set of values that enable members to become connected in a
way that has a more profound meaning than just social interaction. Greek organizations are good
examples of how institutions can affect and be affected by social status and roles within the
collegiate community. They are also a prime example of how race, class and gender can affect a
social setting in both positive and negative manners. Greek... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Within sororities is a language all their own; many words are created or used in a different
manner. For example, big is not an adjective that describes something grand or large as in the
English language. However, big is a term used to describe an older sister whose is assigned to a
younger sister within the organization to be a mentor and a friend. Another example is the word
waltz , which is not referring to a ballroom dance but rather the celebration of a sister s twenty first
birthday. Even the word sister is a part of a sororities unique language as it does not denote the
relationship between blood related relatives, but rather signifies the sister like bonds between
members. This language is imperative to a sorority s culture because it unifies members under a
commonality that distinguishes them from other groups and organizations, much like racial and
religious cultures. Each sorority also has different gestures, much like the language, that are
individualized to each sorority and help distinguish one from the other. Every sorority has a hand
gesture to designate what sorority they are in. Members use this gesture in pictures, when
participating in events and many other times to help differentiate members. Also, sororities have
gestures that encompass all organizations to help distinguish themselves as being in a sorority. For
example, the sorority squat is a common tool used by a big and little to distinguish their roles in a
picture.

Goya and Daumier Comparison
I have found the realism arts to be very fascinating. The three pieces of art that I will be discussing
are Francisco Goya s The Third of May, 1808 oil on canvas 8ft 9 in. x 13ft 4in, Eugene Delacroix s
Liberty Leading the People, 1830 oil on canvas 8 ft 6 3/8 in. x 10ft. 8 in. and Honore Daumier,

The painting The Third of May, by Francisco de Goya, was done to commemorate the events of
that took place during the Napoleonic Wars in Madrid, Spain on May 2 and 3 1808. The

His art represented the reaction against previous conceptions of art and the desire for a new form
of expression. In order to understand the scope of Goya s art, and to appreciate the principles
which governed his development and tremendous versatility, it is essential to realize that his work
extended over a period of more than 60 years.
The importance of this factor is evident between his attitude towards life in his youth, when he
accepted the world as it was quite happily, in his manhood when he began to criticize it, and in
his old age when he became embittered and disillusioned with people and society. The world
changed completely during his lifetime and the society, in which he had achieved a great success,
disappeared during the Napoleonic war. Long before the end of the 18th century Goya had already
turned towards his new ideals and expressed them in his graphic art and in his paintings.
Daumier s made paintings and drawings of morals and manners that are highly original both in
style and subject. He added contemporary Parisian types, lawyers, politicians, businessmen,
professors, doctors and the petit bourgeois to his list of subjects. He also continued to attack the
government regime and any form of society that he found pompous or hypocritical. Daumier is
among the outstanding draughtsman of the past two centuries. His skill in drawing links him to the

them to become involved in criminal activities such as robbery. The money and military activity

To Kill A Mockingbird Social Hierarchy Essay
Pecking order is defined as a hierarchy within a social group or community, in which those
members at the top assume positions of authority. The expression was also used for an economic
theory that explains capital structure. It came from a report on the behavior among chickens,
which establish dominance by pecking each other. Although humans do not use the same tactics to
prove their power, there are several factors play a part in one s social class, such as social
interaction, education, and occupation. The communities we live in are shaped by the social
hierarchy. This is apparent in the stories we tell, such as books like To Kill a Mockingbird, A Raisin

Analysis Of New Investment Plans Of An Existing Company
Global business environment is a world renowned subject in today s era and is being practised
by almost all major companies in the world. Understanding of business in a bigger perspective
and analysing the perplex situations of todays dynamic world are its key issues. The two new
skills, which were identified for the first time during the class, were: 1)Critical analysis of new
investment plans of an existing company. 2)Practising Cause and effect strategy through varied
research and study. Explanation: 1) Critical analysis of new investment plans of an existing
company was not only a new experience but also provided a detailed picture on how things work
in today s global business world. The analysis was dependent upon studies and... Show more content

The above mentioned approaches helped in building a firm base and helped in identifying the
key tools used in the global business environment. The practise enabled us to realize the
investment goal research that was deployed to us. One of the key findings was that in order to
understand the complexity of today s business world, one has to have an approach covering all the
aspects of business and corporate world so as to have a correct finding and conclusion. Identifying
aspects in an altered fashion promotes growth and consistency in the business world. Investment
decisions are perplexed. However, developing insights into an overall concept that helps us in
understanding the internal and external environmental issues can build our concrete and practical
judgements. 2) Cause and Effect is a tool in order to monitor and analyse the major reasons of why
things happened. Therefore subsequently we can use this tool to alter these effects in a way that
can create a difference not only for the organization but also the business culture. Analysis of causes
helps an organization set up regulations to work in a disparate fashion rather than following the
same old methods. Analysing causes further helps in realisation of goals by moving forward and
making the required changes in the planning and output process. Individuals behaviours and

Reflective Essay On Civil Service
My agency, the Bexar County Sheriff s Office, has Civil Service and, as such, there are certain
criteria that one must meet before I could promote. Anyone who passes a few tests and does well
on some Internal Review Boards is eligible for promotion. Therefore, since I guessed better than
the person sitting next to me did, I am making major decisions that affect dozens of people
directly and possibly hundreds indirectly. The only training I received in supervision were the
classes I took to impress the Internal Review Board. The perils of Civil Service, perhaps.
Additionally, when I first made sergeantin 2011 there was no training program for the new
supervisors. Surprisingly, I rode with another sergeant for three days and then was on my own.
Expectations were that I could perform the duties and responsibilities since I passed the test.
Then, in 2016, I made lieutenant and the only training I received was moving from the sergeant s
office across the hall to my new office.
Since then I, with another lieutenant, have put together a training program for all new sergeants.
However, on my own I learned a few things and have come up with a few of my own maxims that
many other supervisors have taken to quoting:
When in doubt, do whichever option requires more work

A Report On Phosphorous Monoxide Radical
1.Introduction
Phosphorous monoxide radical is a diatomic molecule with molecular weight of 46.9732. It exists
in cationic and anionic states. It is present in a significant quantity in earth crust. It is an integral
component of Cell protoplast and most importantly it is present in DNA. The importance of
phosphorous in Biochemical processes can be easily determined from its preparations from animal
and vegetable materials. 1 4 Hennig Brand, for the first time isolated phosphorus in its elemental
state in 1669 by urine distillation. 1 4 The isolated phosphorous glowed brightly in the dark and
ignited on exposure to air. The various uses of phosphorus and its compounds in pharmaceuticals,

They also exposed P2O5 at 50 В°C to UV radiation and only observed emission in the visible
region of the spectrum. They finally concluded that the visible emission from oxidising phosphorus
was because of the excitation of the pentoxide by UV radiation emitted as a result of the oxidation.
Petrikaln falsified the theory put forwarded by EmelГЁus and Purcell and demonstrated that
P2O5 did not absorb in the UV region in its highly purified form. The visible emission observed
by EmelГЁus and Purcell was because of sample impurity.8,9,10 He then demonstrated the
excitement of highly purified P2O5 vapour using discharges caused by external or internal

Foundationalism Analysis
Firstly, I shall introduce Foundationalism by its definition and how it pursues and supposes simple
but fundamental truths. It is necessary to consider components of Foundationalism separately from
the theory in order to understand the premises of the argument as justified. As well as
complications with the theory of belief it proposes, there are limitations of Foundationalism, which
can also be shown through the possibility of a better theory.
For Foundationalists, their belief stems from the conviction that simple and fundamental truths
exist. Considered epistemically justified because of its principle that there is a structure to our
knowledge through justified beliefs, the theory claims that foundational beliefs can be known.
These basic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An adaptation of Foundationalism was presented through externalist versions. Exactly what the
internalism and externalism views are limited by is not decisively defined in epistemology.
Externalists contemplate profoundly distinctive views to persons of conventional Foundationalism;
the construction of knowledge as well as the rationalisation from theories remains often one of
Foundationalism s initial configurations. Goldman s reliabilism offers a perspective of externalist
persuasion. The principle notion of reliabilism seems simplistic; a belief is justified if it is
produced through reliable beliefs, making them likely to be true. Goldman does however determine
that justified beliefs can be sub divided into belief dependent or belief independent, the process of
belief distinguishing the difference. Those that are independently processed through stimuli that we
take as input beliefs, possibly a evolved conclusion associated with specific sensorial stimuli which
we reflect upon and thus form our conclusion about the external. These make them more likely to
be true, which belief dependent processes are generated from. Externalism may be attractive to
those who adopt Foundationalist beliefs because of their allowance when considering justified
belief in a fundamental

How Did Connecticut Get Its Shape
Connecticut got its shape in three major ways. Those are ways are glaciation, plate tectonics,
and weathering and erosion. One major way Connecticut got its shape was from glaciation. For
example, glaciation formed Jobs Pond. Jobs Pond is a giant kettle hole, which is a depression
caused by the impact of a massive chunk of ice, or a glacier. According to The Mystery Of Jobs
Pond, geologists and hydrologists the water level rises and falls with the groundwater level in
the area, because porous sand and gravel make up the bottom of the pond. A kettle hole is
formed by a glacier, so glaciation formed Jobs Pond. Another landscape formed by glaciation is
recessional moraines. A recessional moraine is a pile of rocks left behind when a glacier
recedes, or moves back. As a glacier moves, it picks up rocks in a process called plucking. Then,
as the glacier starts to melt, it recedes. As it does this it drops off rocks, forming a recessional
moraine. Recessional moraines, formed from glaciation, are found all along the Connecticut
shoreline.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

PSA Blood Test
The PSA blood test is used by doctors to screen asymptomatic men for prostate cancer. A PSA
above 4.0 ng/mL is generally considered to be elevated. Since prostate cancer increases the PSA
level as the cancer progresses doctors generally recommend a biopsy if the PSA test comes back
abnormally high.
When a factor other than prostate cancer causes the PSA level to raise the elevated PSA is called a
false positive. A biopsy has risks, such as the risk of infection and the risk of excessive bleeding.
Given these two facts some doctors advise that their male patients follow a plan of watchful
waiting. Under such a plan the doctor monitors the patient s elevated PSA over a period of months
or years. During this time some doctors also advise that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In general, once the cancer reaches to stage 3 the patient has about a 50 50 percent chance that
the cancer will progress. If the cancer is already at stage 4 when the diagnosis is made, the patient
generally only has a 2 3 year life expectancy.
Treatment options for advanced prostate cancer may include hormone therapy, radiation therapy,
orchiectomy (the surgical removal of the testicles), and possibly chemotherapy. Treatment will
usually cause the PSA to drop significantly. Over time, however, treatment ceases to be effective
as the cancer continues to progress. This is typically associated with a new rise in the PSA level.
After the treatment stops being effective, the cancer is fatal. As of the time this article was written
approximately 27,000 men a year are expected to die in the U.S. from advanced prostate cancer.
How many of these 27,000 deaths will be due to a physician advising his patient to follow a plan

A Discusion of Two Documentaries, Awaiting for Men and...
This essay attempts to discuss on two documentaries, Awaiting for Men (2007) and Sick: The Life
and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist (1997), on their reconstruction of truth and reality with
particular emphasis on cinematic language and representation. With documentary becoming more
diverse and diffused due to advanced technology such as the Internet, the realism of first hand
experience and facts may be exaggerated and even fictional. This is achieved through a bombast
proximity and truth which has caused a blurred definition to term documentary. With the
understanding that documentary is a form of factual representation, the aim for truth in the
presentation of reality may be impossible (Chapman, 2009). Hence by comparing with reference to
Awaiting for Men (2007) and Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist (1997), it
would provide a deeper analysis in distinguishing whether the two documentaries were able to
represent the truth of the reality.
Firstly, one need to be aware the reality of the society that each of the documentaries have
constructed in order to gain a better insight to why these documentaries were produced. Awaiting
for Men (2007) presented the life of three strong and independent African women; an intimate
conversation with the women focusing mainly on their timeline as a woman in Africa from a
young adult woman to a married life. In Africa, it is perceived to the world that African women are

Commo Corruption In Robert Bolt s A Man For All Seasons
A Man for All Seasons asks the audience a crucial question; would a man sacrifice his beliefs for
power and control? Plagued with themes of supremacy and control, Robert Bolt s A Man for All
Seasons features the protagonist Thomas More who is fiercely truthful and honest. Thomas More is
foregrounded within the playto highlight the themes of power, control and ultimately corruption
amongst the monarchy. The play, A Man for all Seasons, provides the audience with a deeper and
more accurate portray of Sir Thomas Morein comparison to the film, giving the audience a more
enriched story of the overarching theme. Represented in two different forms, the story is given
more depth and justice in the play, unpacking the different themes of the Common Man, water and
corruption.

Underpinning the entirety of A Man For All Seasons, the corruption of individuals and of the
monarchy system is an issue which is brought to the forefront of the audience s mind. The
audience is consistently asked to question the strength of man to repeal the corruption of power
and control, and how people themselves can be so easily corrupted. Once again, the play
represents this well, using the Gilded Cup to clearly symbolize the corruption in the monarchy
which then started the catalyst of the play. In contrast to the play, the film marginalizes this
important scene, limiting the audience s opportunity to delve deeply into the meaning of the
Gilded Cup. In addition to this, A Man For All Seasons focuses on the rise of Richard Rich and
the fall of Sir Thomas More. More stays strong to his morals, resisting pressure of the monarchy.
Juxtaposed with More, Richard acquires more wealth and greater status by marginalizing his moral
principles. This is an example of how one man concedes to corruption while the other one remains

improves. Levels 3 5 are classified underneath the engaged customer and definitively, these types of

long term growth and profit. Most importantly, how do we create engaged customers? The four key
strategic elements to capture engagement are customer value proposition, brand, internal culture
elements, and customer experience. (Alpert Roberts, 2010) The deliverance of a formidable value
proposition and superior customer experience are the two propelling factors in determining
customer engagement. Aligning these strategic elements with the organization s brand and internal
culture will have immense effects on engagement. First and foremost, an organization must retrieve
informative customer insight to develop a distinguishable value proposition. Secondly, through
brand advertising, effectively market the value proposition. Tertiary, with engaged employees
within the organization, delivering upon the promise guaranteed by the value proposition must be
adhered to. Lastly, fortify the cultural foundation to effectively deliver upon promises innate to the
value proposition. (Alpert and Roberts, 2010) Customer engagement and core customers

The Importance Of Crime Rates In The United States
In the modern world, crime rates are becoming increasingly out of proportions. Even though crime
rates are currently on the decline, one crime represents one too many. Proponents against crime are
gradually becoming strict towards a culprit of crime including the reenactment of the death penalty,
a deterrent against crime, in hopes to reduce crime rates. Although people who commit serious
crimes, such as homicide, deserves a harsh punishment, death penalties are taking the concept of
punishment slightly too far. The reintroduction of death penalties as a deterrent against crime will
not serve as a deterrent against crime as it, similar to all other forms of political practices, can

Instead, they would scrutinize the outcome of crime and base all judgement off of it. There are
certain pieces of information beyond the scope of the audience and information such as those
that are not always readily accessible or completely credible. In a scenario where a person
murdered one of his neighbors, an outsider would say that he deserves his death sentence since
the victim could have dependents and family members who needs him. Basing it off this, we don
t account for what made him commit the crime. What if the neighbor abused his children? What if
his neighbor blackmailed him? Even if we accounted for motives, there exists a chance that there
is something that the audience does not know about. In the event of ruling a death sentences in
such cases, such punishment prove to be extreme. In our immediate minds, a crime is always the

Organizational Structure Of The Salvation Army
ASSIGNMENT 2: Organizational Structure, Reporting, and Responsibilities The Salvation Army
is an international organization, which spans over a hundred countries, so there is a difference
between its strategic and tactical organization. Its strategic organization refers to which divisions
and corps report to which territory, while its tactical organization refers to the local structure of
each individual corps or social service section. As an Accounting Assistant, I am knowledgeable
about the responsibilities of the local organizational structure as well as my own tasks and duties.
On an international scale, the organizational structure of the Salvation Army is based upon a
military model. The Salvation Army is led by a General, who usually works from the International
Headquarters at London, UK. The Salvation Army is spread out over 124 countries, so each
country is considered a territory, which is the responsibility of Territorial Commanders who report
to the International Headquarters. Many countries are large enough that they are split into several
territories for easier management. Each territory is broken up into smaller administrative regions
called divisions, which are managed by Divisional Commanders who report to the Territorial
Commanders. Finally, each division has several corps and community service centers, which are
managed by Corps Officers (Our Structure). The Salvation Army s organizational structure is the
result of its large size. The Salvation Army

Of ThucydidesBiases And Their Consistencies In Greek History
Biases and Their Consistencies in Greek History Humans have made notable accomplishes for
many centuries. Only recently in human history have these events been recorded by other humans.
As a species we naturally have bias, be that toward our culture or an ideology. Thucydides and
Herodotus both had distinct source types as well as biases, but conform to them in different ways
reflective of their different writing styles. First we will examine the sources that Thucydidesused
and why he uses speeches. Thucydides was the main source of the information as he lived and held
command as a general during the Peloponnesian Warup until his exile to Peloponnesian territory
(Thucydides p. 102). His position as a general makes Thucydides an excellent eye witness to
many of these instances. Thucydides spending time with the Peloponnesians gained him insight
into those people and how they would have operated. Thucydides uses himself as his main
source as he held a high position in society and would have access to the events of the war.
Thucydides also used other s speeches as resources to show insight into the events occurring. He
used the Melian dialogue to show the wit of the Athenians and illustrate their impulsive desire to
conquer independent cities (Thucydides p. 102 108). This passage illustrates the beginning of the
end for the Athenians. The Melians were a colony of the Lacedaemonians and did not take a side
in the ongoing war, but Athens eventually probed them to war (Thucydides 102). This
foreshadows the battle at Syracuse in which Athens went blindly into out of desire to simply slight
the Spartans. Thucydides uses speeches to show insight to the people s thoughts and to add
foreshadowing to future events. Herodotus used the account of people and their own traditions as
his references in his works. During the beginnings of the war between the Persians and the Greeks
Herodotus speaks of the Persian invasion of the Delians. During the Persians departure Herodotus
uses the Delians as the reference for the events that unfolded next (Herodotus p. 108). Aside from
the mentions of how the stories are sourced from the people Herodotus does not mention where
else his sources came from. Herodotus relied heavily on

Analysis Of Gateway To Freedom

Canada in hope to find freedom. It is a book authored by Eric Foner, an American Historian. He is

about the African American biography. In 2011 he won the Lincoln Prize, the Bancroft Prize

Foner shows how Gays helped save the fugitives, providing safety homes and aiding them escape

their freedom. His books Reconstruction and Give me Freedom show very well the emerging
social issues of race, social life and politics in the aspect of improved approaches toward the status
of the blacks in the American society. However, Foner focuses more on the negative aspects, while
aspects such as urbanization and more job opportunities are not looked upon ( Papson Calarco
,2015).
In 1850, the Compromise was formed as a way of preventing the southerners from withdrawing
from the Union. Part of this law, was the Fugitive Slave act, which aroused many reactions from
the public that it ultimately led to the civil war. This Fugitive Slave Act stated that the
southerners were still owners of these slaves that had escaped to the north and that the
Northerners had to abide to it, even though most of their states had illegalized slavery. This law
also made it hard for the blacks to have a fair trial as they were not able to prove whether they
were free or not. This led to the blacks in the northern states freeing to Canada in fear of being
returned to slavery and because they did not feel as safe anymore. The Compromise, to keep the
southerners in the Union, made these laws on slaves to favor them. However unexpectedly it made

Prejudice Research Paper
Prejudice Paper
Today we still see prejudice every day and sometimes it is often overlooked. Fortunately, this is
something we have gotten better at but there is still work to be done. It is important to know what
defines prejudice and understand how to be self aware. Developing good strategies to overcome
prejudice is also important in order to better understand this topic. We should understand why
people hold prejudice and how it affects people.
Prejudice, is a judgement based on the assumption that we already have all the information we need
to know about a person. (Steven A. Beebe) Antisemitismduring modern times is one of the most
severe examples of prejudice throughout history. This prejudice towards the Jewish people during

Although prejudice is still very much alive in our society and all types of people experience
prejudice due to many reasons. Today It has become less acceptable though because of the
understanding of what it is and with the correct awareness it should continue to get better.
Understanding what defines prejudice and the type of steps that we can use are going to be

indicates one s susceptibility to health problems, harm or neglect. Some however, maybe more or
less susceptible or at risk of poor health at different times in their lives, while certain individuals
and communities are more likely to be at risk than others at any given point in time (Aday, 1994).
Thus, vulnerable populations may be defined as social groups with an increased susceptibility to
adverse health outcomes (Flaskerud Winslow, 1998). A fundamental component to the definition of
vulnerability is the concept of risk, or the relative probability that an individual may become ill
within a given period of time (Aday, 1994). Community and individual characteristics are risk
factors predictive of the incidence of vulnerability. Risk factors, for example smoking or lead
exposure, are attributes that are related to increases in the probability of occurrence of health
related outcomes (Aday, 1998). Evidence of differences in vulnerability or increased risk, which
lead to negative health outcomes include: premature mortality, comparative morbidity, decreased
functional and mental status, decreased ability to

Questions On Divorce Mediation Process
In this response, I will overview divorce mediation, sessions, agreements, issues, plans,
budgeting, child support, spousal support, and some financial issues all in one paragraph. The
article itself discuss more in depth than I would go over. I would like to briefly discuss the
importance that stood out to me in these following topics listed above. However, all of these
topics are very important but however, I can t possible explain in depth all topics. In these next
few paragraphs, I will provide a brief summary of the article s contents, information from the
chapters in the class text that s pertinent to the article s nature and a closing paragraph.
A Step byStep Approach to the DivorceMediation Process: From Soup to Nuts by Anju D. Jessani,
discuss what divorce mediation is, how schedule the first session, multiple agreements, issues, child
support, spousal support and more. According to Jessani, divorce mediation is when a mediator
helps the separating couple address the parenting issues and custody, the different distributions of
assets, liabilities, child/spousal support, insurance, income tax, and other decisions that will help
restructure the family into two units. It s typically for both of the spouses to meet three to six
sessions of 90 minutes with their mediator for nine weeks. The mediator plays a big role in helping
the couple explore their options as well as their consequence. Most importantly, bring them
knowledge and experience to provide context for

Hellcat Challenger Research Paper
If you think about it the Challenger is a huge part of muscle car history. It s been in a couple
movies but the most iconic ones are Gone in Sixty Seconds and Fastlane. But my article here is
about the Hellcat Challenger. The Hellcat challenger is the upper street performance package
that Dodge called the Skat Pack in the 1970s. But my opinion on which is better is that the older
one is better. Let me tell you why. For one, This car is a beast you can get this beast of an engine
that is the 426 Hemi or you could get this straight six 145 and anything in between but still the
car itself you could get this Skat Pack on your Challenger and it would be basically a whole new
car. Another reason that this car is a beast is that this is a car that came late in the muscle car game.
The Mustang, GTO, and the Camaro are already... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also the Shaker hood is a nice addition to the Hellcat body style. And in the 70s this car was the
thing to drive. This thing was so cool that if you were driving it then you were automatically
cool. No matter your social status. This is the paragraph that leads into what s cool about the
new Hellcat Challenger. The 2015 2016 Hellcat Challenger is way better then like any of the
original Challengers not the Hellcat but any of the other Challengers. These cars are the prime
example of why Dodge is one of the best car manufacturers in the world. The new Hellcat
Challenger has a new transmission that you can change the gearing to make performance better.
You can use Sport mode and Track mode so you can use them for faster times. Also they have 4
different engines. 3 V8 Hemis and one V6 (boo) This is the brand new Hellcat 6.2L Hemi engine.
This is what is put in the new Challengers/Chargers. This beast can push out over 700hp of power.
But soon enough the V8 is going go away and everything is going to V6s which sucks but that s
how things are going

America s Most Important Pastime
America s Most Important Pastime
Today men and women live equal lives. They have the same opportunities when it comes to jobs,
voting, education, and practically any other entitlement that comes to mind. According to the
Constitution, equality for women came about in 1920. That was the year women received the
right to vote, and in their eyes received the right to be seen as an equal instead of a lesser person.
However, to the dismay of many women, that idea was not entirely true. Women were still viewed
differently than men by the public. This difference in perception can be seen by focusing on the job
opportunities for a woman through the 1920s and up until World War II. Before World War II
women were not supposed to work in the factories, instead they were supposed to work at home.
During World War II however, many workingmen were drafted into the army, thus creating the
necessity for women to step in and work in the factories and other higher class jobs. Thrusting
women into the working class emphatically changed the ideology that men and women were not
equal, however, I argue that the greatest change of mind was not created by the women working in
the factories, but by the women who were elected to substitute in to keep the game of baseball
afloat. The female athletes who played baseball during World War II were brought in as a last
resort to save baseball, forced to fulfill stereotypes, and taught how to act, but were still persevered
through all of those strikes

Double Standards In The Odyssey
Margaret Atwood s The Penelopiad re envisions Homer s Odyssey by following Penelope s life
and thoughts in the place of Odysseus s. By using Penelope s viewpoint, Atwood is able to
expose the double standards and misogyny in the Odyssey, as well as alter Penelope s original
character into someone with intellect and an astute way of thinking. For instance, a double
standard found in the Odyssey was that being a good and heroic man meant one must have sex
with a lot of women; but if a woman was to have sex with lots of men, she would be considered
tainted and impure. Essentially stating that for a man to achieve greatness and success, multiple
women have to be forced to submit and accept failure in the Odyssey s concept of womanliness.

Choosing A Dating Service Is Choice Essay
The problem with choosing a dating service is choice too much of it! There are hundreds of
services. To choose a dating service that s right for you, you need to be clear about what exactly
you re looking for. As a newcomer to online dating, unfamiliar with all the options, you might be
a little hazy on this front. Here s a rundown of the main areas in which dating services differ
which will help you draw up a dating service wish list to compare sites to. Relationship options
One of the most obvious things to think about when choosing a dating service is what kind of
relationship(s) you re looking for. Some services, including top dating sites like Yahoo!
Personals (singles dating) and eHarmony (soulmates) focus on one type of relationship only.
The advantage of choosing a dating service that s dedicated to a particular type of relationship is
that everyone will be on exactly the same page as you are in terms of intentions. If you re not
clear what your intentions are, you might be better choosing a dating service where members can
pursue different types of relationships within the same site. Again there s no shortage of choice.
However, at some multi relationship services it s not immediately clear who s looking for what
and up to you to figure it out, using the search tools. If this sounds like trouble (and it can be),
choose a service like Lavalife which has separate communities within the site for each type of
relationship. Members Think about the

Nature of South China Sea Disputes
The issues on South China Sea disputes are inherently complex and are compounded by conflicting
interpretations from the claimant states. In attempting to dissect this conundrum, Dutton (2011)
propounds a framework to explain the three facets to the disputes territorial sovereignty, jurisdiction
over sea zones, and control over military activities. The argument on territorial sovereignty
premises on the notion of complete state authority over part of, or all of the islands in the South
China Sea, in particular the Paracel and Spratly Islands. Common to both, China is the only state
that has made sovereignty claims over both clusters of islands. It is noted that since 1949, the
Zhou Enlai government has published maps with nine dashes forming a U shape line in the South
China Sea demarcating its maritime boundaries (Nguyen, 2012). In late 2012, China even
published maps with the U shape line in its new passports (Anderlini amp; Bland, 2012).
Separately, Dillon (2011) posits that Beijing s territorial assertion in the South China Sea stems
from the historical tributary system with its vassal kingdoms that span from Japan and Korea in the

The Lost Girls
25 of the best historical fiction books
If you re one of those people who insist that reading about history is boring, then you re not alone.
From the dry memorization of wars and rulers to the watered down way that textbooks depict
controversial events of the past, lessons on history can really become a snooze. Believe it or not,
the way history is presented is what will leave you uninterested. But when you re imagine the past
and reflect on past social conditions that still plague society today it s easier to resuscitate those
important moments from the past that seem dead. My advice? Breathe life back into the forgotten
moments of history by reading a good, historical fiction book.

However, careful consideration should be given on the application of the new Mexican
guidance as differences could arise in practice. Expense recognitionemployee benefits Under
IFRS, companies may elect to account for actuarial gains/losses in a manner such that the gains
/losses are permanently excluded from the primary statement of operations. Differing restrictions
over how assets are valued for the purposes of determining expected returns on plan assets exist
under IFRS. IFRS allows for the separation of certain components of net pension costs whereas
US GAAP and Mexican FRS do not. The interest cost and return on assets components of pension
cost may be reported as part of financing costs within the statement of operations under IFRS as
opposed to operating income under US GAAP and Mexican FRS. Assets nonfinancial assets
Differences in the asset impairment testing model may result in assets being impaired earlier under
IFRS and Mexican FRS. However, there are certain differences on the impairment testing under the
three frameworks. The broad based requirement to capitalize development costs under IFRS and
Mexican FRS (when certain criteria are met) creates the potential for differences compared with
US GAAP, wherein development costs are generally expensed as incurred. IFRS prohibits (whereas
US GAAP and Mexican FRS permit) the use of the lastin, first out inventory costing methodology.
In addition, Mexican FRS accepts the inventory costing

The Last Day Of Elizabeth
The next day Elizabeth received an invitation to Duke of Stratford s Ball. No doubt Blair had
secured it for her she d never run in his set before. She appreciated Blair s efforts but wondered
how on earth she d manage a new gown suitable for such an occasion. The Duke s spring ball was
considered the event of the season. The Regent might even put in an appearance. London s finest
would be out in their most impressive jewels and costly gowns. This was not a playing field
Elizabeth was prepared for. She went to her room to survey her paltry evening gowns and
dwindling jewellery case. What she found further underscored her plight.
Marie, what am I to do? The only gown remotely sufficient is two seasons old and at least a size too

know where to send it back . No Madame! You can t! You ve nothing to wear to the ball . Then I
ll have to stay home and risk Blair s wrath. Give me the card Marie . Marie half heartedly handed
it over her face a mask of disappointment. A mistress with neither youth nor funds was not worthy
of her talents. The note read Once in while a woman should have exactly what she wants exactly
when she needs it, B . Tears formed in Elizabeth s eyes. The gratitude and appreciation of her
friend s perceptive kindness overwhelmed her. It s from Blair. She would brook no refusal and
daren t try to return it. Let s withdraw to my bedroom and see how it looks. I do hope it fits! It
was too much. She was trembling with each parcel she opened. Marie was beside herself. One
treasure was more glorious than the next. Blair had managed to even include some scandalous
silk drawers and stockings with a note saying enclosed saying Never under estimate the effect of
silk on a woman s body . There wasn t one item forgotten in her ensemble right down to a
beautiful pale, pink French fan with a silver handle. Now Elizabeth had no excuse to offer nor did
she want to.

Summary Of The Open Window
Staring out the open window, Megan let the quiet breeze blow in and flow through her long, brown
hair. This is where she would take in her last moments of silence. She watched as the branches
swayed in the wind, their leaves just starting to turn red and fall to the ground. She thought about
jumping, escaping reality, but instead turned and stepped away, dragging the fabric of her puffed
up, white dress with her. Memories of her motherstarted to flood in her mind, drowning her with
unpleasant reflections. She wondered if she would be able to make it through the rest of the day.
Summer was approaching, Megan could tell by the way the warmth of the sun danced across
her skin. She was finishing up her last week of school, excited to see what summer adventures
she would have this year with her parents. The school bell rang and all of the students ran to line
up in front of the door, screaming goodbyes at the teacher and at each other. One by one, they
exited the classroom, made their way down the once colorful halls, and then out the doors to
greet whoever was picking them up that day. Megan searched the crowd of parents, sprinting
towards her father who was standing with his arms wide open. How was your day Meg? Did you
learn any essential information today? her father had asked, embracing her in his gigantic bear
arms. From her view, her father stood like a tower, hovering over everything beneath him.
Education, to him, was important and he wanted to make sure she got

The Pros And Cons Of Birth Tourism
Birth Tourism has been a booming subject as immigrant families travel to the United States to have
their children in the country. One state particularly immigrants have been traveling to is the state of
California. With California being close to the coast, it makes it easier for immigrants to pick the
destination for birth tourism. According to a World post article, it states that, The 14th Amendment
to the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship to every person born on American soil, a fact that
has long motivated foreigners from all over the world to give birth in the U.S. (Sheehan 1). This
shows that, immigrants want to come to the United Statesto start their families because they want
their children to be able to grow up as an American citizen.
With the birth tourism rate growing rapidly in the United States, it s been proven that China has
brought the most birth tourism to the country. As stated in the World Post article, No reliable data
exists on the number of Chinese births in the U.S, but estimates by industry publications projected
a total of 60,000 for 2014, a six fold increase over 2012 (Sheehan 5). With China having a huge
impact with birth tourism, there are still other countries that are involved with the birth tourism
rate, mostly Latin American countries seeking economic opportunities.
With birth tourism being a very popular thing there are a lot of economic pros and cons. It s not
a cheap thing to do to come to the United States to have a baby. In the World Post Article, it states
that Having a child in California is not cheap for Chinese parents: Package deals at maternity
hotels often start at $20,000 and go much higher (Sheehan 10). With that being said it also states
that, given birth to their second child in China, they likely would have faced fines equal to
$40,000 for violation of the country s one child policy (Sheehan 11). This shows that its cheaper
to have another child in the United States, therefore bringing the birth tourism rate higher in the
United States because of the prices. Also in China there is a one child policy where you can only
have one child, wear as in the states you can have as many babies as you would like. As stated in
the World post You ve got

The reasons are, the colonists were able to govern themselves for years and now British wants control, even though they have taken care of themselves for a long time. Also the colonists weren t equally represented. Lastly there was Salutary Neglect, which is the unofficial British Policy that enforced laws on american colonists. Additionally, the colonists were governing themselves for a while and now the british want control over them. They were able to make the laws and taxes for themselves. In the document Government it states a charter listing a number of rights that most colonist thought they should have. For example, the King passed The Stamp Act and The Quartering Act, which taxed the colonists on stamps and imported item. Also the proclamation of 1763 angered the colonist. • 3. Podiatry Rhuematoid Arthritis Introduction Throughout this essay I shall critique the available evidence regarding rheumatoid arthritis (RA); particularly concerning the conclusions on its aetiology, diagnosis techniques, pharmacological management, physical therapeutics and surgical treatment interventions. I shall explore the expected prognosis and the key developments we can expect in the future. Aetiology and Prevalence RA is a chronic, systemic and inflammatory disease that progressively impacts peripheral joints (Panayi 2011).The damage that occurs is predominantly symmetrical and polyarthropathic (Rindfleisch Muller 2005). It affects the host s joint synovial membranes, tendon sheaths and bursae and causes stiffness, pain and swelling to the joints... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Genetics influence a high percentage of cases; according to de De Vries (2011), 50 60% of sero positive and 30 50% of sero negative cases are influenced by hereditary factors. A greater understanding of this area could bring new found appreciation of RA pathogenesis and treatment methods (Mikuls 2012). Relationship of increase RA incidence with smoking is reported widespread in literature (Fisher 2012, Klareskog 2008, Sugiyama 2010, Mahdi 2009). Interaction occurs between two copies of HLA DR SE specific genes and smoking; specific citrullinated protein antigens are induced by cigarette smoke which increases likelihood of RA. This causes a 21 flod increase risk of RA in comparison to non smokers (Klareskog 2006). Furthermore, literature dictates that peripheral vascular disease (PVD), steroid therapy and prednisone use have consistent supportive evidence that shows increased risk of RA (Firth et al.2008a, Maradit‐Kremers 2007, Wegner 2010). There is little evidence to dictate a common infectious cause of RA, however some pathogenic organisms such as periodontitus, B19 parvovirus or Epstein Barr virus (EBV) virus may stimulate the disease by activating the B cells to presence antibodies (Wegner 2010). There is inconclusive evidence to suggest that the diet or breast implants play a role in the aetiology of RA (Tugwell et al 2001, Pattison 2006). Pathogenesis In RA, the immune system cannot differentiate Major ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With his dexterous guidance and a solid military, Cyrus succeeded in fashioning a massive empire that lasted for more than two hundred years. The strong roots and influences brought to the Persian Empire by Cyrus gave the emperors after him much power, like Darius I, who continued to enlarge the Empire. Similarities Between Warren Pryor And Richard Cory Warren vs Richard Cory Even though their tolerance toward adversity differs, both characters in the poems Warren Pryor by Alden Nowlan and Richard Cory by Alrington Robinson prove that they share life similarities when it comes to their personal sacrifices and opinions on the philosophical value of money. Firstly, both characters in these works make self sacrifices to please others. Impact Of The Neolithic And Bronze Age On Society The impact of the Neolithic and Bronze Age societies on the environment The Neolithic is a time period that relates to the later part of the Stone Age, when there was a lot of development of human technology in regards to stone tools and the beginning of farming. The Bronze Age was a time period characterized by the use of bronze and writing that indicated features of urban civilization. There were many different approaches that were used to evaluate the relationship between agricultureand social change in the Neolithicand Bronze Age societies. This is important because many people during the Neolithic and Bronze Age were not concerned with the possible environmental damage that could be done, instead they continued to use resources and migrate when they had used all of the resources in a specific area. This was also discussed by Hughes in What Is Environmental History? who stated Humans see themselves as separate from nature, above nature, and in charge of nature. This statement is true of modern society, but it was also relevant for the agricultural societies during the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Farming became very important in these agricultural societies, which caused most people to settle in one place where there crops would grow and exploit the environmental supplies in the area. This agricultural change also lead to social change because many began to form civilizations and communities around cropping regions which was very damaging to the environment where these civilizations were located. Most people don t think of sororities as social institutions that envelop their own culture, with mannerisms, languages and customs that are unique to each individual organization. However, these institutions promote a common set of values that enable members to become connected in a way that has a more profound meaning than just social interaction. This essay attempts to discuss on two documentaries, Awaiting for Men (2007) and Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist (1997), on their reconstruction of truth and reality with particular emphasis on cinematic language and representation. With documentary becoming more diverse and diffused due to advanced technology such as the Internet, the realism of first hand experience and facts may be exaggerated and even fictional. This is achieved through a bombast proximity and truth which has caused a blurred definition to term documentary. The Salvation Army is led by a General, who usually works from the International Headquarters at London, UK. The Salvation Army is spread out over 124 countries, so each country is considered a territory, which is the responsibility of Territorial Commanders who report to the International Headquarters. Many countries are large enough that they are split into several territories for easier management. Each territory is broken up into smaller administrative regions called divisions, which are managed by Divisional Commanders who report to the Territorial Commanders. Finally, each division has several corps and community service centers, which are managed by Corps Officers (Our Structure). • 34. Of ThucydidesBiases And Their Consistencies In Greek History Biases and Their Consistencies in Greek History Humans have made notable accomplishes for many centuries. Only recently in human history have these events been recorded by other humans. As a species we naturally have bias, be that toward our culture or an ideology. Thucydides and Herodotus both had distinct source types as well as biases, but conform to them in different ways reflective of their different writing styles. First we will examine the sources that Thucydidesused and why he uses speeches. Thucydides was the main source of the information as he lived and held command as a general during the Peloponnesian Warup until his exile to Peloponnesian territory (Thucydides p. 102). His position as a general makes Thucydides an excellent eye witness to many of these instances. Thucydides spending time with the Peloponnesians gained him insight into those people and how they would have operated. Thucydides uses himself as his main source as he held a high position in society and would have access to the events of the war. Thucydides also used other s speeches as resources to show insight into the events occurring. He used the Melian dialogue to show the wit of the Athenians and illustrate their impulsive desire to conquer independent cities (Thucydides p. 102 108). This passage illustrates the beginning of the end for the Athenians. The Melians were a colony of the Lacedaemonians and did not take a side in the ongoing war, but Athens eventually probed them to war (Thucydides 102). This foreshadows the battle at Syracuse in which Athens went blindly into out of desire to simply slight the Spartans. Thucydides uses speeches to show insight to the people s thoughts and to add foreshadowing to future events. Herodotus used the account of people and their own traditions as his references in his works. During the beginnings of the war between the Persians and the Greeks Herodotus speaks of the Persian invasion of the Delians. During the Persians departure Herodotus uses the Delians as the reference for the events that unfolded next (Herodotus p. 108). Aside from the mentions of how the stories are sourced from the people Herodotus does not mention where else his sources came from. Herodotus relied heavily on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, Foner focuses more on the negative aspects, while aspects such as urbanization and more job opportunities are not looked upon ( Papson Calarco ,2015). In 1850, the Compromise was formed as a way of preventing the southerners from withdrawing from the Union. Part of this law, was the Fugitive Slave act, which aroused many reactions from the public that it ultimately led to the civil war. This Fugitive Slave Act stated that the southerners were still owners of these slaves that had escaped to the north and that the Northerners had to abide to it, even though most of their states had illegalized slavery. This law also made it hard for the blacks to have a fair trial as they were not able to prove whether they were free or not. This led to the blacks in the northern states freeing to Canada in fear of being returned to slavery and because they did not feel as safe anymore. • 40. Vulnerability And Risk Of Poor Health INTRODUCTION Everyone is potentially vulnerable at some point over the extent of one s lifetime. More specifically, everyone is potentially at risk of poor physical, psychological, or social health. The word vulnerable is defined by the Merrian Webster s Dictionary as capable of being physically wounded or open to attack or damage . Commonly, the word vulnerability indicates one s susceptibility to health problems, harm or neglect. Some however, maybe more or less susceptible or at risk of poor health at different times in their lives, while certain individuals and communities are more likely to be at risk than others at any given point in time (Aday, 1994). Thus, vulnerable populations may be defined as social groups with an increased susceptibility to adverse health outcomes (Flaskerud Winslow, 1998). A fundamental component to the definition of vulnerability is the concept of risk, or the relative probability that an individual may become ill within a given period of time (Aday, 1994). Community and individual characteristics are risk factors predictive of the incidence of vulnerability. Risk factors, for example smoking or lead exposure, are attributes that are related to increases in the probability of occurrence of health related outcomes (Aday, 1998). Evidence of differences in vulnerability or increased risk, which lead to negative health outcomes include: premature mortality, comparative morbidity, decreased functional and mental status, decreased ability to ... • 43. America s Most Important Pastime America s Most Important Pastime Today men and women live equal lives. They have the same opportunities when it comes to jobs, voting, education, and practically any other entitlement that comes to mind. According to the Constitution, equality for women came about in 1920. That was the year women received the right to vote, and in their eyes received the right to be seen as an equal instead of a lesser person. However, to the dismay of many women, that idea was not entirely true. Women were still viewed differently than men by the public. This difference in perception can be seen by focusing on the job opportunities for a woman through the 1920s and up until World War II. Before World War II women were not supposed to work in the factories, instead they were supposed to work at home. During World War II however, many workingmen were drafted into the army, thus creating the necessity for women to step in and work in the factories and other higher class jobs. Thrusting women into the working class emphatically changed the ideology that men and women were not equal, however, I argue that the greatest change of mind was not created by the women working in the factories, but by the women who were elected to substitute in to keep the game of baseball afloat. The female athletes who played baseball during World War II were brought in as a last resort to save baseball, forced to fulfill stereotypes, and taught how to act, but were still persevered through all of those strikes ... To choose a dating service that s right for you, you need to be clear about what exactly you re looking for. As a newcomer to online dating, unfamiliar with all the options, you might be a little hazy on this front. Here s a rundown of the main areas in which dating services differ which will help you draw up a dating service wish list to compare sites to. Relationship options One of the most obvious things to think about when choosing a dating service is what kind of relationship(s) you re looking for. Some services, including top dating sites like Yahoo! Personals (singles dating) and eHarmony (soulmates) focus on one type of relationship only. The advantage of choosing a dating service that s dedicated to a particular type of relationship is that everyone will be on exactly the same page as you are in terms of intentions. If you re not clear what your intentions are, you might be better choosing a dating service where members can pursue different types of relationships within the same site. Again there s no shortage of choice. However, at some multi relationship services it s not immediately clear who s looking for what and up to you to figure it out, using the search tools. If this sounds like trouble (and it can be), choose a service like Lavalife which has separate communities within the site for each type of relationship. Members Think about the ... • 52. The Pros And Cons Of Birth Tourism Birth Tourism has been a booming subject as immigrant families travel to the United States to have their children in the country. One state particularly immigrants have been traveling to is the state of California. With California being close to the coast, it makes it easier for immigrants to pick the destination for birth tourism. According to a World post article, it states that, The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship to every person born on American soil, a fact that has long motivated foreigners from all over the world to give birth in the U.S. (Sheehan 1). This shows that, immigrants want to come to the United Statesto start their families because they want their children to be able to grow up as an American citizen. With that being said it also states that, given birth to their second child in China, they likely would have faced fines equal to $40,000 for violation of the country s one child policy (Sheehan 11). This shows that its cheaper to have another child in the United States, therefore bringing the birth tourism rate higher in the United States because of the prices. Also in China there is a one child policy where you can only have one child, wear as in the states you can have as many babies as you would like. As stated in the World post You ve got ...
