Risks And Risk Management Plan
Risk Management Plan
Introduction
An important part any project is to identify risks and to determine how to address said risks. In this
paper, I will identify 10 risks that could occur during the making of Coleman Covenant Studios. I will
also assess and address each risk in detail. Although I am hopeful the completion of this project will
happen with minimal negative risks, I do realize hope is not a plan. For this reason, this risk
management plan is in place to acknowledge and prepare for a variety of unplanned events.
Planning Risk Management The purpose of this section is to determine how I will perform the risk
management process, who will be assigned to the risk management process, the budget, definitions of
risk and impact, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lastly, the stakeholders are willing to accept a considerable amount of risk as long as a plan is in place
to address it.
Qualitative Risk Analysis In addition to determining the impact of each risk and the likelihood of that
risk occurring, I also prioritized the risks by ranking them. By ranking each risk, I am ensuring all
team members understand the important of each risk in relation to other risks. As mentioned earlier in
paper, the ranks are in parentheses above. Once the risks were ranked, I determined the probability of
each risk and the impact it would have on the project if it did occur. These numbers are factored into
the risk matrix below: Table 1. Risk Matrix
The high risk in red is venue selection. The moderate risks in yellow are under budget, promotion,
venue location, legal issues, natural force delay, and bank doesn t approve loan. The low risks in green
are grand opening troubles, ahead of schedule, and design change.
Quantitative Risk Analysis In this section, I will further analyze the high risk activity: venue selection.
This activity is identified as high risk because the likelihood that it will occur is 50% and if it occurs,
its impact is at a level nine. Proper venue selection is integral to the successful completion of the
project. Ideally, a clear lot will be selected. However, there is a 50/50 chance the lot selected will not
be clear and destruction will take place.

Patrick Henry Persuasive Speech
Throughout history, rhetoric has been used by great orators to persuade a people to believe one thing
or take action on another. Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, proved that a respectable argument must use
ethos, pathos, and logos. Patrick Henry s give me liberty speech is well known to have inspired many
people to take up arms against the British and start the American Revolution. He used ethos by
proving he would die for his country, saying give me liberty or give me death, pathos by explaining
how poorly America is treated and how they are seen as inferiors, and also logos by stating all the
atrocities Britain had done to America ( Patrick ). These same values must be applied in modern
debate to vanquish the other side, and it is in these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ethos, or asserting credibility of the speaker, is an important tool in order to gain the judges trust and
respect of the words spoken. Hillary Clinton currently has a poor credible record because of the email
scandal, and as a result many voters feel less inclined to vote for her (O Harrow). In a casual high
school debate, ethos may be obtained by receiving good grades or having several reputable sources.
Pathos is procured using less evidence, but still reaching out to the heart of the judge. Martin Luther
King Jr s famous I Have a Dream speech became a turning point in equality for American people. His
use of pathos, such as saying the millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of
withering injustice, made people realize how unjust their treatment was of the African American
population (Eidenmuller). As for logos, logos uses logic in order to persuade the judge to believe a
certain statement is true. For instance, many of the presidential debates in 2016 use logos in order to
persuade the audience (Lee). The candidates often speak of the economic and societal consequences of
a certain proposed tax or bill. Although ethos, pathos, and logos have historically been used in the
greatest of speeches, it is these same principles which also lead to a triumphant

A Girl Fell Off The Fourteenth Floor !
A girl fell off the fourteenth floor! was the response I got when I inquired about the multiple
ambulances outside my dorm at the beginning of sophomore year. The truth of what happened was
much more unsettling. Instead of an accident, the girl, Jenny, had actually jumped from her dorm
window, leaving behind a note saying ending her life was the only way she saw to stopping her pain. I
had known Jenny briefly when she was my Orientation Leader. By all accounts she was a cheerful girl
who lights up any room she enters. Her friends and family all expressed shock and disbelief there was
no warning, no signs at all she was struggling or suffering. In midst of an outpouring of empathy from
the student body, many students admitted that they also had suicidal thoughts, but likewise would
never ask for help. Growing up as an Asian American, I was all too familiar with the stigma associated
with mental illness. In high school, I watched my best friend resorting to self harming when the
pressure of college application became too much to handle. When she tried to tell her first generation
immigrant parents about her depression, they merely told her depression is not real. Their biggest
concern about her cutting was that no one should find out. Even educated parents like mine do not
view depression as a real illness the same way they view diabetes or cancer. Having watched many
friends struggle with mental illness, I have always wanted to make counseling more accessible to all.

Why Should Performance Enhancing Drugs Be Banned
In this source I was looking for reasons to support why some sports have banned performance
enhancing drugs. I decided to take a look at this source because the title Steroid Fatigue Syndrome
was intriguing and looked helpful. Also, the article was created by Sports Illustrated (a credible
magazine) which I knew may help me. This source was important to me because author Phil Taylor
explains clearly reasons why performance enhancing drugs should be banned and what would happen
if these drugs were allowed in sports. In the article Taylor states For years my buddy Russ has been
advocating an all steroids Olympics no substances off limits, no lab coat police, may the best chemist

High jumpers would have longer hang times than a 60 yard punt. Weightlifters would clean and jerk
midsized sedans. This quote supports why performance enhancing drugs shouldn t be banned because
it shows that it would be much more exciting to watch if athletes were allowed to use performance
enhancing drugs. Runners would finish in world record time and weight lifters could lift large cars and
pull giant trucks. This would make the sports much more entertaining. This would be great for the
sport because it would invite new views and attract a large crowd. Next, in the article it states To me,
the idea of allowing athletes to freely use performance enhancing drugs borders on absurdity. I don t
want to see competitions decided according to which athlete is most willing to take chemical risks
with his or her body. But my resolve weakens with each convoluted case of suspected PED use. This
quote proves that there is no point in allowing athletes to use performance enhancing drugs. Also, it
shows how fans don t want to see athletes getting all drugged up for an event because that defeats the
purpose and gives no point in

Piece Of Ground
Do We Need to Hear Both Sides of a Story? Hearing or not hearing both sides of a story can cause
major impact on reader s perspectives and opinions. It can be the source of misunderstanding and false
information about the situation of a story. It can also be the main cause of controversy, especially on
topics that many people have strong opinions on and are passionate about. This is why it is essential to
hear both sides of a story to understand the situation. This is because; if people with strong opinions
on a topic read a one sided story, it could result in major controversy. For example, Elizabeth Laird s
book A Little Piece of Ground caused worldwide argument as it is set in Palestine, talking about the
Palestinian Israeli conflict. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While reading A Little Piece of Ground , I found myself almost immediately agreeing with and being
on the Palestinians side because of the perspective of the book. It was only until I heard an interview
talking about this perspective that I started opposing the book and thinking about other perspectives. It
is, at the least, dishonest to portray a political conflict in totally unpolitical terms, particularly when it
s written for kids who can t be assumed to know what the political context is (National Public Radio,
2018). As mentioned earlier, because the book targets readers aged ~12 14, the book entices most of
its audience to one perspective without the audience even knowing. After finding this out, I felt tricked
and it made me wonder if some of the events in the book were even similar to what happens in real
life. However, it is lucky that this was brought to my attention, as if it were not, I would still believe
that the Israelis were uncaring, killing

Social Media and Social Protest
A growing body of literature examines the relationship between environmental protest and news
media representation with special emphasis on how these formations relate to and affect the public and
politics.
The nature of our research is such that we are going to use a multitheoretical approach. Space does not
permit to review all the work done on this matter, but we have selected various key perspectives
needed for understanding the mechanisms of framing and media bias in the reporting of protest events.
We briefly review the more relevant perspectives that have guided our assessment of the evidence and
that were endorsed in our findings.
Protest logic and mediation opportunity structure
Various Studies have showed that media display an inherent bias against social protests, reflecting
elite interests, primarily by focusing on incidents of violence rather than on the message these protest
groups try to convey. Eldridge argues that what is being presented as neutral reporting is in fact an
array of codes and practices which effectively rest upon a cultural imperative to hear the causes of
disputes in one way rather than another , meaning that Media are not neutral unselective recorders of
events (Oliver and Maney, 2000: 464) Mainstream media predominantly tend to focus on violence and
on the spectacular rather than on the message being conveyed . Protest groups

worked at McDonalds, which is very surprising considering past reviews about him. However, he did
not work very hard and did not to seem to care one bit about his job at McDonalds because his focus
was all on Alaska. Chris s arrogance is shown in this quote because he has given up on society. He just
doesn t care anymore and all he wants to do is go to Alaska. He is completely ignoring the fact that
people are living normal lives and that not everything is about his adventure. Also, Chris is being very
selfish because people that are actually a part of society who need things, but he is ignoring everybody
that he does not associate with. That works when you are in the wild with no responsibility but in the
real world, Chris needed have a sense of urgency. He was ignorant toward society because he does not
think and function like everyone else that he was around. Since Chris didn t fit into society he decided
to run away from everything. Krakauer message is present because Chris couldn t fit into society
because he can t handle responsibility. He could not fit into society and Chris was so ignorant toward

The Value Of Loyalty In The Odyssey By Homer
Loyalty is one of the important factors that influences people because loyalty provides stability for any
long lasting relationship. In The Odyssey, an epic poem by Homer, Penelope shows us the value of
loyalty because she is hopeful that her husband will come back, and she does not want to marry
anyone who is not him. Penelope is a good example of loyalty in The Odyssey because she proves her
loyalty several times. When Odysseus is gone suitors began to throw themselves at her, and they
would do anything to get to marry her. Since she was a queen, Penelope would have been expected to
marry after her spouce died but she stayed true to her husband, Odysseus, by coming up with excuses
not to marry the suitors until she knew for sure that he was dead. To avoid choosing a suitor to marry
she said that she would chose a husband as soon as she finished weaving a shroud for her father in
law, Laertes, even though he was not sick or ready to die yet. Everyday she would show them the
progress that she had made weaving the shroud, but every night before she went to bed she would
unweave all of her work and start over the next day so that the shroud would never be finished.
Her very words,/ and despite our pride and passion we believed her./ So by day she d weave at her
great and growing web / by night, by the light of the torches set beside her,/ she would unravel all she

Compare and Contrast Two Works of Art
Anthony Arteaga
Art History Ancient World
Homework Assignment #1
Compare and contrast the subject, concept, and the Formal Element of the two works of art. Also,
explain which category this work falls in. The two pieces I have chosen can be found on page 200,
figure 6 51, Battle of Centaurs and Wild Beasts from Hadrian s Villa and on page 434, figure 14 8,
Battle of the Bird and Serpent. Not only did I choose these pieces for their beauty, but also because
both works have similar yet different subjects, concepts, and formal elements. Both of these images

Also, the shapes in the background are fuzzier and assumed in piece one where the shapes in piece
two are sharper and more defined. Another formal element is texture. The first piece, according to the
text, is a floor mosaic which is composed of many colored tesserae that were laid down in irregular,
curving lines, which effectively imitated painted brushstrokes. The individual tiles are more apparent
when viewed closely. This gives the piece a grainy and earthy texture, where it physically looks
bumpy. The textbook says it has foreshortening, the illusion created on a flat surface in which figures
and objects appear to recede or project sharply into space. The second piece was drawn with tempera
on parchment. This makes the piece look smooth, flat, and two dimensional. The next element is color.
The hues in both pieces are relatively earth toned. Both pieces have a low level of saturation. In piece
one, the sky is mustard brown with a section of mint green that frames the boulder that the male
centaur is holding. The rocky scenery has browns and creams with a dull green and brown center. A
bright green patch of pine trees is in the corner that contrasts with the sky and rocks. The colors to the
second piece are similar in the sense that it has low saturation. The colors are dull and warm. This
piece utilizes reds and oranges, in the serpent, that the first piece does not. Because of the tan

How Does Longfellow s Use Of Figurative Language
Figurative language is a literary device employed by numerous writers which helps develop style. For
instance, in the poem Not My Bones by Marilyn Nelson, the author uses the figurative language such
as metaphors to describe a slaves belief on who you really are. Likewise, in his narrative poem Paul
Revere s Ride Henry Wadsworth Longfellow utilizes various types of figurative language to create
and enhance his style.
Early on in the poem Longfellow establishes his style through the use of personification. To illustrate,
when the speaker is describing a British owned warship docked on the Charlestown shore awaiting a
battle in the revolutionary war he/she tells the reader, each mast and spar/across the moon like a prison
bar... (Lines 20 21). Fitting the definition of a simile the ships mast and spar are compared to a prison
bar using the word like. Comparing components of the British war ships to a prison reminds the reader
that a war for the american colonist is inescapable just like prison is inescapable for an inmate.
Therefore, the use of stylistic techniques such as similes are exemplified through longfellows
description of the british war ships. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

describes to the reader how Revere protected the colonist by stating, And the spark struck out by that

The addition of this alliteration allows the reader to read through the poem more smoothly and aids in
a reader being able to remember the story of Paul Revere s midnight ride. Clearly, CLOSING

you work hard and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to
you desires (Gladwell 151).This is true in many of the stories told in the book Outliers: The Story of
Success by Malcolm Gladwell several famous people are talked about such as, The Beatles, Bill
Gates. But in this book several studies on education, parenting, and psychology are cited. We also
learn that there are many differences between what others may consider to be success, and what
Malcolm Gladwell considers success.
I would like to begin by discussing Bill Gates the founder of Microsoft. What opportunities allowed
him to build a company worth billions of dollars? How did he learn so much about how computers?
Did he have any advantages over other students at school? In the chapter The 10,000 Rule it is stated
that The idea that excellence at preforming a complex task requires a minimum level of practices
surfaces again and in studies of expertise. In fact, researchers have settled on what they believe is the
magic number for true success: ten thousand hours (Gladwell 39 40). It takes this long because It
seems that it takes the brain that long to assimilate all that it needs to achieve true mastery (Gladwell
40). So where did Bill Gates get his ten thousand hours of experience before building Microsoft. Well
the answer is Lakeside, a private that catered

James Madison Research Paper
James Madison was a very important person, he was known as the Father of the Constitution. He
wrote most of the Constitution because he was such a great writer and he was also very smart, he had
very bright ideas. Madison also wrote the Bill of Rights and was the key writer of that and he wrote a
third of the Federalist Papers. I think that everyone should know about James Madison not only
because he was known as the Father of the Constitution he was also one of our presidents from 1809
to 1817 putting him as president through the war of 1812.
James Madison didn t write all of the Constitution himself, he had lots of help from Thomas Jefferson.

James Madison wasn t at first a fan of the Bill of Rights but soon he was for the Bill of Rights and was
the key author of them. Not only was he the author of the Bill of Rights he was also one of the authors
of the Federalist Papers. The Federalist Papers were a series of 85 essays that supported the
Constitution. James Madison had some help from Alexander Hamilton and John Jay. The three of
them wrote under the name of Publius because they figured that if the people thought that the paper
were written by a commoner then the people would listen better.
In conclusion James Madison is a very important person in the history of America. Everyone should
know about him and what he did because he shaped our country into what it is today. He was a very
important author writing the Bill of Rights almost by himself and being a second and third author to
the Constitution and Federalist Papers. James was a very smart person and always stayed strong to his

Similarities Between An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge...
The Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, by Ambrose Bierce tells the story of a man being punished for a
crime. While he is dying, he vividly imagines his escape, the one thing that urges him on is the
thought of his family. White Heron, by Sarah Orne Jewett follows a girl named Sylvia who lives in a
small country home with her grandmother. She has a simple life: walking with her cow and hanging
out with the forest creatures. However, when a young hunter arrives on the scene with a very alluring
offer, Sylvia is faced with a tough decision. The setting of the short story, An Occurrence at Owl
Creek Bridge , is in northern Alabama during the Civil War. The short story, A White Heron , takes
place in New England during the summer on a farm. Throughout the short stories both Jewett and
Bierce, describe the similar scenes a pond, a forest, and a faint sunlight.
One similarity between the short stories is both take place by some sort of water. Peyton was near a
stream when he was shot and decided to tried another method of escaping. The humming of the gnats
that danced above the eddies of the stream, the beating of the dragon flies wings, the strokes of the
water spiders legs, like oars which had lifted their boat all these made audible music. A fish slid along
beneath his eyes, and he heard the rush of its body parting the water (Bierce 1505). This quote
describes a stream that was nearby Peyton. It describes a stream of water and the organisms that are
surrounding the stream. Sylvia theory was that if a person climbed the tallest tree in the forest they
would see the ocean. While on the hunt for the White Heron s nesting spot, she climbed the tallest
tree. Sylvia s faced was like a pale star, if one had seen it from the ground, when the last thorny bough
was past, and she stood trembling and tires but wholly triumphant, high in the tree top. Yes, there was
the sea with the dawning sun making a golden dazzle over it, and toward that glorious east flew two
hawks with slow moving pinions (Jewett 1602). This quote shows that Sylvia s view is coming from
the treetop; and she sees the sea and two hawks. At some point in the story, both characters were near
a type of water; Peyton was by a stream and Sylvia was

Scandal in Bohemia, Gender Roles Essay
Scandal in Bohemia, Gender Roles
In A Scandal in Bohemia, by Arthur Conan Doyle, society places women at an inferior level pushing
them to the background therefore never allowing us, the reader, to know them, except for Irene Adler
who shows the gender shift of the time period by becoming the main character in Sherlock Holmes
investigation and the story. A Scandal in Bohemia speaks about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes
and his adventure in retrieving a damaging photograph for a king from his ex mistress. In the society
Watson describes, the role of women is of little to no importance except for emphasis that focused on
the Kings mistress Irene Adler.
In this society, women were the nurtures and the protectors of the children ... Show more content on

Rather than surrendering to the trickery of Sherlock Holmes, Irene Adler outsmarts him using his own
tricks and makes her escape right under his nose. The narrowly defined roles of women were evident
for the only means to discuss women in this story is through their relations with men. No woman, not
even Irene Adler, has her own story. After all in the end, even Irene Adler runs away with a man. Out
of the five female characters mentioned or referred to in this story, only one is given a name and a
personality. This lack of female representation shows how dominant males were in the society of the
story and in the society of the real world.
Irene Adler exemplified the massive shifts in gender roles that were occurring during this time in
many ways other than becoming the main character in the story along with being feared of having too
much power by the men. Throughout the story there were many hidden examples of how Irene Adler
was the main character of how the roles of gender were changing drastically in the period of this story.
Adler is the character of changing gender roles which is revealed through a division of female
physiology and male psychology. The king remarks that she had the face of the most beautiful women
and the mind of the most resolute men . She also freely crosses gender barriers by wearing men s
clothing, confessing that male costume is nothing new to me. I often take advantage of the freedom
which it gives. Adler s active

Examples Of Vestibulee In Dante s Inferno
Dante, first, talks about the people of Vestibule. These people are considered trimmers and neutrals.
People who are in Vestibule are neither a part of Heaven nor Hell. The consequences of their actions
in this world is reflected in the afterlife as a punishment. Their punishment is chasing a banner and
being bitten by insects. Chasing a banner is a punishment which reflects that these people followed
every opportunity in the world; therefore, they will keep doing the same thing in the hereafter. The
connection between the insects and the people of Vestibule is insects benefit from human beings as the
people of Vestibule continually benefit from other people throughout their lifetime. Their punishment
is not an external punishment because what they plant now is what they will harvest later. Virgil says,
We have come to the place where / I said that you would see the woeful people / who have lost the
good of the intellect (Dante, 1417). This quote explains how these people created their own Hells by
using their intellect for the wrong purposes. They got what they deserved as the actions ... Show more

The punishment for the angry is thrashing around and taring each other as for the sullen it is being
unheard and unseen. Trashing around and taring each other fits their sin because angry people always
fight with others, therefore, their punishment is trashing. Being submerged fit the sullen because the
sullen people were given a promising life, however they spent their lives moping and pitying
themselves. Dante explains these people as, In the world he was an arrogant person; / no kindness
adorned his memory, / so his shade is furious here (Dante, 46 48). He adds, As one who learns of a
great trick, / played on him and who resents it, / so Phlegyas became in his pent up rage. (Dante,

St. Patricks Day Pranks
Papa (2011), emphasized that current classroom teachers are digital immigrants preparing a generation
of digital natives (p.109). This concept that was alarmingly true last Thursday, when a small group of
students employed the use of technology to pull a St. Patrick s Day prank. The scheme was simple
enough, the culprits downloaded an android app which would allow them to selectively turn on the
classroom televisions to airplay youtube videos. Interestingly, they had preselected a goofy, yet
tasteful video of a man playing the electric saxophone to play throughout the day. The video prompted
a great deal of confusion for the teaching staff, with most reacting as if voodoo had taken over their
t.v.s. Although this prank exemplifies a small disruption within a school day, I feel it speaks to one of

Unfortunately, our situation is not unique. Across the nation schools are routinely subjected to outside
hacking, in house errors, and even technology gaps at companies they work with , making many
students and employees vulnerable to identity theft (Davis, 2015, p.1). Schools can also be held
responsible for paying significant legal fees and damages if private student academic information is
breached (Bathon, 2013, p.1). Papa (2011), indicated to combat these issues administrators must
consider protective measures for both internet and technology use (p.198). Protocols for teaching
students how to use the internet appropriately must be put in place (Papa, 2011, p. 198). Antivirus and
protection software must also purchased to prevent extensive damage to existing computer systems
(Papa, 2011, p.198). Regrettably, despite our best efforts to maintain network security we must still

The Affordable Care Act Of Congress
The affordable care act was passed into law by congress and the president in 2010. This plan was
established to help all individuals obtain health insurance, regardless of having a pre existing
condition through the government marketplace as an affordable amount, or if you did not meet the set
standards, was offered a state based health care coverage (HHS, 2015). Those individuals who did not
have qualified medical coverage for the majority of the tax year, they would be penalized and have to

Under the ACA for individuals, they are able to select their health care coverage either through their
employer, through the government, by finding a plan on their own, or have no insurance coverage at
all and face the tax penalty, year after year that the taxpayer goes without coverage. There are actually
ways that the individual can benefit from when filing their taxes. An option for selecting health care
coverage is through the government s website exchange, this is referenced to the Premium tax credit.
Under this credit as defined in 26 C.F.R. § 1.36B 1 , individuals are able to select their own health care
coverage with the plans being labeled as on silver, bronze, gold, or platinum plans, and gives the
taxpayer a refund on the premium amount. If a taxpayer plans on selecting one of these, the
government will give you a tax break if your income places you under the 400% of the poverty level
(Obamacare, 2015). Under ACA, employers are now faced with a challenge of their own, if they have
50 or more employees they are now required to offer healthcare coverage to their full time employees,
and if they do not they will be faced to pay a tax penalty. With smaller employers they would be
offered a tax break on offering their employees coverage through the government marketplace.

Hero My Mom
The Super Hero I Call Mom
My mother occupies a special place in my heart that can never be replaced. She became pregnant with
me at the age of nineteen. Being a young, single mother, she had to overcome difficult obstacles to get
us to where we are today. Life was tough and there were many times where she just wanted to give up,
but she was determined to turn her life around for the better. She ingrained a lifetime worth of advice
into my head but it was her actions that taught me that the struggles I will face now will make me
stronger in the end.
As a senior in high school, my mother was the colonel of the drill team and was preparing for college
when life threw a major curve ball her way. Once she realized she was pregnant with me, she had to
change her lifestyle entirely. With no support, financially or emotionally from my father, my mother
had to do it all on her own. This greatly affected my mother because even to this day she is still
playing a role as both a mother and father figure, and has never complained or failed to follow through
with any of her responsibilities. Raising me was especially hard for my mother because she lacked
financial stability. There were times when she didn t even have enough money for a bottle of formula.
Her parents allowed her to stay at home with them but she was required to pay rent in exchange for
my grandmother babysitting me while she worked as receptionist at a local chemical plant.

Speech And Communicate With Therapists
to address and communicate with therapists. When working with the Latinx population, therapists and
education professionals should reflect on this child rearing value before encouraging Latinx children
to call them by their first names, as it may be a sign of disrespect for their family to address any
service provider that way within the hierarchical framework they are being brought up to defer to. In
addition, greeting each member of the family within a hierarchical order (starting with parents then
children) can show a Latinx family that the service provider understands this value. If for example, a
clinician goes right up to the child first, it can lead the family to interpret that the professional does not
understanding their culture of respeto, which can create boundaries between them. It also places the
child in a situation where is he or she responds to the greeting before her parents or does not respond
to it, it might be viewed as disrespectful, disobedient or offensive to the family. Knowing the
importance of respeto within the Latinx community helps professionals understand how to interact
with their clients in a cohesive and productive way.
Familismo is another child rearing value found in many Latinx families. It promotes healthy
interdependence within the nuclear and extended family. Extended family, friends and the nuclear
family all take part in raising the child within the Latinx household. The family unit is extended

The Threat Of The Atomic Bomb
Very few events in human history will be remembered forever. Everyday things such as driving to
work or spending time with a loved one, will all soon be part of the past. Even seemingly horrifying
events that in the present seem to cause chaos, such as a wildfire that destroys thousands of homes, or
a plane crash that tears apart many families will be forgotten by humanity in a comparably short
amount of time. The atomic bomb is one of the few events that will forever be remembered by people
all over the world for the remainder of human history. Robert Oppenheimer, the main scientist in
building the bomb, will be remembered as the person who created the most devastating weapon ever
used in combat. The destruction that was caused by the bomb was mainly felt in the country of Japan,
but its impact spread throughout the world. Ending World War II was made possible by the U.S.
government, and their crucial decision to drop Oppenheimer s atomic device onto the cities of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Soon after, the once destructive device was forbidden to be used for any
reason and nuclear power plants were developed to make use of the unique power. The dropping of the
atomic bomb had a much greater impact on the world than just its immediate destruction. Robert
Oppenheimer, the man behind the atomic bomb, grew up in the early 1900s in New York City
(Rummel 13). Oppenheimer s American journey started long before he was born. His father, Julius,

important part of the music world. The history of The Rock Roll Hall of Fame Museum also plays an
important role in music. The Rock Roll Hall of Fame Museum is in Cleveland Ohio, on the shore of

The Principles Of Project Management
Task 1: Project Management Principles
The principles of project management has served a purpose to ensure that projects can be completed
by helping to strategically plan and predict risk to ensure project success. Projects have been ran from
pre historian times and until 1900, projects were generally managed by the creative architects and
engineers themselves as there was no recognized profession of project management (Lock, 2007, p.2).
The Dixon Company would require the use of project management principles such as the success
principle, the tetrad trade off principle and the strategy principle, to ensure that the business s re
structuring project becomes a success in completion.
The use of the following project management principles will help Dixon PLC to thoroughly evaluate
the re structuring project by identifying key success and failure criteria as well as assess possible risks
both financially and non financially to the company. It is important at the beginning of the project to
issue a formal document of authority to open a project and allow expenditure to begin (Lock, 2007,
p.492). This document acts as an official announcement that the project will now proceed and
The success principle states that the measure of the Dixon re structuring project s success must be
defined at the beginning of the project as a basis for project management decision (Wideman, 2000). It
is relevant to identify at what accomplishments the project must have for it to be reviewed as

Japan Is a Better Environment than the US for Inspiring...
Companies seek to profit off the work of the individuals they employ. If you aren t generating more
value for the company than they pay you will likely not be working for that company much longer.
They also hate taking risks and dealing with the unknown. Manga, like many forms of art, throughout
the years was commercialized after it was shown to be capable of making money. Like all markets
there was a void where companies viewed the risks to be too high, and eventually an independent
group of fans stepped in to fill that demand. This is why Comiket was established. Comiket, the
Japanese abbreviation of Comic Market started small with 32 circles and about 700 people in
attendance but today has 35,000 circles and about 500,000 attendants. It is, A marketplace where
individuals can offer their own self produced creations to a community that appreciate and supports
such creative personal activities. (1) These creations are known as dōjinshi and dōjin, and can be used
to mean to any independently created and released works not just manga. Since and likely because of
the success of Comiket the market for niche manga in Japan has exploded in popularity, there are an
increasingly large number of artists, fans, and companies seeking to publish these works. Although
often original, much of the work is derivative fan art, yet the copyright holders allow and sometimes
even encourage these creations. In this paper I will argue that Japan is a better environment than the

Differences Between Willy Loman And Famil Ath Of A Salesman
When it comes to the idea of the American dream, almost anyone would say that it is defined as a
chance, a possibility, a potential. Existing as an opportunity, in order to achieve an important goal and
live a successful life, the American dream acts as a guideline for our own choices and pathway of life
that we choose to follow. Yet, all people still have a personal definition of what success means to
them. Success can be perceived to mean achievements in a career, fame in society, quality in work,
essentially anything that showcases a sense of accomplishment and importance, no matter its different
meaning to other people. These differences are what often separate individuals in their pursuit of the
American dream while affecting the people, friends and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Willy Loman and Troy Maxson have their own belief of what defines the American dream, but
whenever they attempt to instill the same beliefs in their sons, they introduce and repeatedly worsen
the problems of the already strained relationships between family members. The parents mean well
and are attempting to positively impact the lives of their sons, yet each s idea produces similar
conflicts of each relationship that instead elicit more challenges in shaping the lives of their children
to their own liking.
From the beginning pages of Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller, the reader is easily able to
understand the personal view from a salesman, Willy Loman, that the most important methods of
achieving American dream lie in one s successes in the economic life and social life. In the opening
discussion that Willy had with his wife, Linda, he talks about his son, Biff, and how Willy does not
believe that Biff was trying to achieve the American dream. Criticizing Biff, he exclaims to Linda,

Intervention Of The Iraq War Essay
In the years leading up to and during the Iraq War, the United States pursued a neo conservative
agenda that aimed to dismantle Saddam Hussein s regime, eliminate the threat of Weapons of Mass
Destruction (WMD), and install a democratic government in Iraq. To do so, U.S. policymakers
deployed military forces and diplomatic ambassadors to intervene. This strategy, clearly seen during
the early invasion in 2003 and the surge of 2007, produced mixed reactions. Indeed, more than a
decade after the U.S. decision to mediate, the question remains: Can intervention actually work? To
answer this question, it is important to first define what intervention means in the context of Iraq.
Intervention involved a combination of military might, cultural sensitivity, and tactful diplomacy. U.S.
military forces engaged in more aggressive offensive maneuvers to subdue Saddam Hussein and
insurgents, while ambassadors advised, often navigating the tenuous relationships between different
ethnic groups. With this definition in mind, intervention was particularly effective in three specific
instances throughout the U.S. occupation of Iraq: during the 2003 neutralization of Saddam Hussein
and the successful establishment of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, during the 2007 Surge , and during
the drawdown of U.S. troops from Iraq. The first of the aforementioned successes, can be best
understood by analyzing the early impacts of invasion. During that time, as the main body of coalition

some new islands, which lead to the start of the Columbian Exchange, the Columbian exchange was
between the Old World (Europe, Africa) and the New World ( North and South America). The
Columbian Exchange was the exchange of plants, tobacco, food, disease and so much more. The
Columbian Exchange had both a negative and positive change on the people s life who lived in those
continents. During the Columbian Exchange there was an exchange of many types of foods. The Old
World exchanged Bananas, citrus fruits, peaches, sugar cane, grapes, coffee beans. They exchanged lots
of foods with the New World, the New World exchanged corn, , tomatoes, potatoes, pumpkins and
bunch more. The Columbian Exchange was not just all about the exchange of food. They also had an
exchange of native plants. The two most important plants that were exchanged was maize, and potato

A Brief History of Piano Greats and Jazz Essay
A Brief History of Piano Greats and Jazz The piano has been a pivotal instrument throughout the
development of jazz music. Starting with ragtime, which developed out of classical music, all the way
to modern jazz the piano has been a foundational instrument upon which many styles have been built.
This is a result of the versatility of the instrument, as it has the ability to play accompaniment, rhythm,
and solo improvisation simultaneously. Throughout the course of jazz history many musicians have
utilized the piano to develop new and unique styles. These great musicians used influences from all
sources to develop these new genres of jazz and are renowned for their ability still today. The piano
was pivotal to one of the first jazz genre ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This piece brought Joplin and the genre of Ragtime to fame and was very influential on many other
ragtime composers (Berlin 1998). Ragtime is not strictly considered jazz music though, due to the lack
of improvisation and swing feel, but it heavily influenced the development of a new style of piano
playing called stride (Berlin 1998). The style of stride piano was developed mainly in New York City,
specifically the neighborhood of Harlem, through the 1920s and 1930s (Early 1991). This new genre
of jazz music built upon the syncopated rhythm of Ragtime by adding a Blues feel as well as swing
elements (Early 1991). The important feature of this new stride style was the rigid bass pattern in the
left hand of the pianist. Typically, a single note would be played on the 1st and 3rd beats of the
measure, while an accompanying chord would be played on the 2nd and 4th beats (Early 1991). This
type of playing gives the listener and impression of walking or marching, thus denoting it the title
Stride (Early 1991). This new bass technique was vital for freeing the right hand for improvisation.
James P. Johnson is one of many pianists to pioneer this style of playing and is often referred to as the
Father of Stride (Early 1991). Johnson s famous piece, Charleston (http://www.youtube.com/watch?

Comparison Of Thymus With Unhealthy Spleen
Introduction
Purpose of this practical is to compare tissues in healthy spleen and thymus with unhealthy spleen and
thymus of a mouse.
Lymphoid organs consist of primary (thymus, bone marrow) and secondary (spleen, tonsils, lymphoid

  • 2. Risks And Risk Management Plan Risk Management Plan Introduction An important part any project is to identify risks and to determine how to address said risks. In this paper, I will identify 10 risks that could occur during the making of Coleman Covenant Studios. I will also assess and address each risk in detail. Although I am hopeful the completion of this project will happen with minimal negative risks, I do realize hope is not a plan. For this reason, this risk management plan is in place to acknowledge and prepare for a variety of unplanned events. Planning Risk Management The purpose of this section is to determine how I will perform the risk management process, who will be assigned to the risk management process, the budget, definitions of risk and impact, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, the stakeholders are willing to accept a considerable amount of risk as long as a plan is in place to address it. Qualitative Risk Analysis In addition to determining the impact of each risk and the likelihood of that risk occurring, I also prioritized the risks by ranking them. By ranking each risk, I am ensuring all team members understand the important of each risk in relation to other risks. As mentioned earlier in paper, the ranks are in parentheses above. Once the risks were ranked, I determined the probability of each risk and the impact it would have on the project if it did occur. These numbers are factored into the risk matrix below: Table 1. Risk Matrix The high risk in red is venue selection. The moderate risks in yellow are under budget, promotion, venue location, legal issues, natural force delay, and bank doesn t approve loan. The low risks in green are grand opening troubles, ahead of schedule, and design change. Quantitative Risk Analysis In this section, I will further analyze the high risk activity: venue selection. This activity is identified as high risk because the likelihood that it will occur is 50% and if it occurs, its impact is at a level nine. Proper venue selection is integral to the successful completion of the project. Ideally, a clear lot will be selected. However, there is a 50/50 chance the lot selected will not be clear and destruction will take place. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Patrick Henry Persuasive Speech Throughout history, rhetoric has been used by great orators to persuade a people to believe one thing or take action on another. Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, proved that a respectable argument must use ethos, pathos, and logos. Patrick Henry s give me liberty speech is well known to have inspired many people to take up arms against the British and start the American Revolution. He used ethos by proving he would die for his country, saying give me liberty or give me death, pathos by explaining how poorly America is treated and how they are seen as inferiors, and also logos by stating all the atrocities Britain had done to America ( Patrick ). These same values must be applied in modern debate to vanquish the other side, and it is in these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ethos, or asserting credibility of the speaker, is an important tool in order to gain the judges trust and respect of the words spoken. Hillary Clinton currently has a poor credible record because of the email scandal, and as a result many voters feel less inclined to vote for her (O Harrow). In a casual high school debate, ethos may be obtained by receiving good grades or having several reputable sources. Pathos is procured using less evidence, but still reaching out to the heart of the judge. Martin Luther King Jr s famous I Have a Dream speech became a turning point in equality for American people. His use of pathos, such as saying the millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice, made people realize how unjust their treatment was of the African American population (Eidenmuller). As for logos, logos uses logic in order to persuade the judge to believe a certain statement is true. For instance, many of the presidential debates in 2016 use logos in order to persuade the audience (Lee). The candidates often speak of the economic and societal consequences of a certain proposed tax or bill. Although ethos, pathos, and logos have historically been used in the greatest of speeches, it is these same principles which also lead to a triumphant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. A Girl Fell Off The Fourteenth Floor ! A girl fell off the fourteenth floor! was the response I got when I inquired about the multiple ambulances outside my dorm at the beginning of sophomore year. The truth of what happened was much more unsettling. Instead of an accident, the girl, Jenny, had actually jumped from her dorm window, leaving behind a note saying ending her life was the only way she saw to stopping her pain. I had known Jenny briefly when she was my Orientation Leader. By all accounts she was a cheerful girl who lights up any room she enters. Her friends and family all expressed shock and disbelief there was no warning, no signs at all she was struggling or suffering. In midst of an outpouring of empathy from the student body, many students admitted that they also had suicidal thoughts, but likewise would never ask for help. Growing up as an Asian American, I was all too familiar with the stigma associated with mental illness. In high school, I watched my best friend resorting to self harming when the pressure of college application became too much to handle. When she tried to tell her first generation immigrant parents about her depression, they merely told her depression is not real. Their biggest concern about her cutting was that no one should find out. Even educated parents like mine do not view depression as a real illness the same way they view diabetes or cancer. It can be the source of misunderstanding and false information about the situation of a story. It can also be the main cause of controversy, especially on topics that many people have strong opinions on and are passionate about. This is why it is essential to hear both sides of a story to understand the situation. As mentioned earlier, because the book targets readers aged ~12 14, the book entices most of its audience to one perspective without the audience even knowing. Social Media and Social Protest A growing body of literature examines the relationship between environmental protest and news media representation with special emphasis on how these formations relate to and affect the public and politics. The nature of our research is such that we are going to use a multitheoretical approach. Space does not permit to review all the work done on this matter, but we have selected various key perspectives needed for understanding the mechanisms of framing and media bias in the reporting of protest events. We briefly review the more relevant perspectives that have guided our assessment of the evidence and that were endorsed in our findings. Protest logic and mediation opportunity structure Various Studies have showed that media display an inherent bias against social protests, reflecting elite interests, primarily by focusing on incidents of violence rather than on the message these protest groups try to convey. Eldridge argues that what is being presented as neutral reporting is in fact an array of codes and practices which effectively rest upon a cultural imperative to hear the causes of disputes in one way rather than another , meaning that Media are not neutral unselective recorders of events (Oliver and Maney, 2000: 464) Mainstream media predominantly tend to focus on violence and on the spectacular rather than on the message being conveyed . In The Odyssey, an epic poem by Homer, Penelope shows us the value of loyalty because she is hopeful that her husband will come back, and she does not want to marry anyone who is not him. Penelope is a good example of loyalty in The Odyssey because she proves her loyalty several times. When Odysseus is gone suitors began to throw themselves at her, and they would do anything to get to marry her. Since she was a queen, Penelope would have been expected to marry after her spouce died but she stayed true to her husband, Odysseus, by coming up with excuses not to marry the suitors until she knew for sure that he was dead. • 23. Similarities Between An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge... The Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, by Ambrose Bierce tells the story of a man being punished for a crime. While he is dying, he vividly imagines his escape, the one thing that urges him on is the thought of his family. White Heron, by Sarah Orne Jewett follows a girl named Sylvia who lives in a small country home with her grandmother. She has a simple life: walking with her cow and hanging out with the forest creatures. However, when a young hunter arrives on the scene with a very alluring offer, Sylvia is faced with a tough decision. The setting of the short story, An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge , is in northern Alabama during the Civil War. The short story, A White Heron , takes place in New England during the summer on a farm. Throughout the short stories both Jewett and Bierce, describe the similar scenes a pond, a forest, and a faint sunlight. One similarity between the short stories is both take place by some sort of water. Peyton was near a stream when he was shot and decided to tried another method of escaping. The humming of the gnats that danced above the eddies of the stream, the beating of the dragon flies wings, the strokes of the water spiders legs, like oars which had lifted their boat all these made audible music. A fish slid along beneath his eyes, and he heard the rush of its body parting the water (Bierce 1505). This quote describes a stream that was nearby Peyton. It describes a stream of water and the organisms that are surrounding the stream. Sylvia theory was that if a person climbed the tallest tree in the forest they would see the ocean. While on the hunt for the White Heron s nesting spot, she climbed the tallest tree. Sylvia s faced was like a pale star, if one had seen it from the ground, when the last thorny bough was past, and she stood trembling and tires but wholly triumphant, high in the tree top. Yes, there was the sea with the dawning sun making a golden dazzle over it, and toward that glorious east flew two hawks with slow moving pinions (Jewett 1602). Being submerged fit the sullen because the sullen people were given a promising life, however they spent their lives moping and pitying themselves. Dante explains these people as, In the world he was an arrogant person; / no kindness adorned his memory, / so his shade is furious here (Dante, 46 48). He adds, As one who learns of a great trick, / played on him and who resents it, / so Phlegyas became in his pent up rage. (Dante, 1433). • 26. St. Patricks Day Pranks Papa (2011), emphasized that current classroom teachers are digital immigrants preparing a generation of digital natives (p.109). This concept that was alarmingly true last Thursday, when a small group of students employed the use of technology to pull a St. Patrick s Day prank. The scheme was simple enough, the culprits downloaded an android app which would allow them to selectively turn on the classroom televisions to airplay youtube videos. Interestingly, they had preselected a goofy, yet tasteful video of a man playing the electric saxophone to play throughout the day. The video prompted a great deal of confusion for the teaching staff, with most reacting as if voodoo had taken over their t.v.s. Schools can also be held responsible for paying significant legal fees and damages if private student academic information is breached (Bathon, 2013, p.1). There are actually ways that the individual can benefit from when filing their taxes. An option for selecting health care coverage is through the government s website exchange, this is referenced to the Premium tax credit. Being a young, single mother, she had to overcome difficult obstacles to get us to where we are today. Life was tough and there were many times where she just wanted to give up, but she was determined to turn her life around for the better. She ingrained a lifetime worth of advice into my head but it was her actions that taught me that the struggles I will face now will make me stronger in the end. As a senior in high school, my mother was the colonel of the drill team and was preparing for college when life threw a major curve ball her way. Once she realized she was pregnant with me, she had to change her lifestyle entirely. With no support, financially or emotionally from my father, my mother had to do it all on her own. This greatly affected my mother because even to this day she is still playing a role as both a mother and father figure, and has never complained or failed to follow through with any of her responsibilities. Raising me was especially hard for my mother because she lacked financial stability. There were times when she didn t even have enough money for a bottle of formula. • 30. Speech And Communicate With Therapists to address and communicate with therapists. When working with the Latinx population, therapists and education professionals should reflect on this child rearing value before encouraging Latinx children to call them by their first names, as it may be a sign of disrespect for their family to address any service provider that way within the hierarchical framework they are being brought up to defer to. In addition, greeting each member of the family within a hierarchical order (starting with parents then children) can show a Latinx family that the service provider understands this value. If for example, a clinician goes right up to the child first, it can lead the family to interpret that the professional does not understanding their culture of respeto, which can create boundaries between them. It also places the child in a situation where is he or she responds to the greeting before her parents or does not respond to it, it might be viewed as disrespectful, disobedient or offensive to the family. Knowing the importance of respeto within the Latinx community helps professionals understand how to interact with their clients in a cohesive and productive way. Familismo is another child rearing value found in many Latinx families. It promotes healthy interdependence within the nuclear and extended family. Everyday things such as driving to work or spending time with a loved one, will all soon be part of the past. Even seemingly horrifying events that in the present seem to cause chaos, such as a wildfire that destroys thousands of homes, or a plane crash that tears apart many families will be forgotten by humanity in a comparably short amount of time. The atomic bomb is one of the few events that will forever be remembered by people all over the world for the remainder of human history. Robert Oppenheimer, the main scientist in building the bomb, will be remembered as the person who created the most devastating weapon ever used in combat. The destruction that was caused by the bomb was mainly felt in the country of Japan, but its impact spread throughout the world. Ending World War II was made possible by the U.S. government, and their crucial decision to drop Oppenheimer s atomic device onto the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Soon after, the once destructive device was forbidden to be used for any reason and nuclear power plants were developed to make use of the unique power. The dropping of the atomic bomb had a much greater impact on the world than just its immediate destruction. • 43. Intervention Of The Iraq War Essay In the years leading up to and during the Iraq War, the United States pursued a neo conservative agenda that aimed to dismantle Saddam Hussein s regime, eliminate the threat of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), and install a democratic government in Iraq. To do so, U.S. policymakers deployed military forces and diplomatic ambassadors to intervene. This strategy, clearly seen during the early invasion in 2003 and the surge of 2007, produced mixed reactions. Indeed, more than a decade after the U.S. decision to mediate, the question remains: Can intervention actually work? To answer this question, it is important to first define what intervention means in the context of Iraq. Intervention involved a combination of military might, cultural sensitivity, and tactful diplomacy. U.S. military forces engaged in more aggressive offensive maneuvers to subdue Saddam Hussein and insurgents, while ambassadors advised, often navigating the tenuous relationships between different ethnic groups. With this definition in mind, intervention was particularly effective in three specific instances throughout the U.S. occupation of Iraq: during the 2003 neutralization of Saddam Hussein and the successful establishment of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, during the 2007 Surge , and during the drawdown of U.S. troops from Iraq. The first of the aforementioned successes, can be best understood by analyzing the early impacts of invasion. During that time, as the main body of coalition forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This piece brought Joplin and the genre of Ragtime to fame and was very influential on many other ragtime composers (Berlin 1998). Ragtime is not strictly considered jazz music though, due to the lack of improvisation and swing feel, but it heavily influenced the development of a new style of piano playing called stride (Berlin 1998). The style of stride piano was developed mainly in New York City, specifically the neighborhood of Harlem, through the 1920s and 1930s (Early 1991). This new genre of jazz music built upon the syncopated rhythm of Ragtime by adding a Blues feel as well as swing elements (Early 1991). The important feature of this new stride style was the rigid bass pattern in the left hand of the pianist. Typically, a single note would be played on the 1st and 3rd beats of the measure, while an accompanying chord would be played on the 2nd and 4th beats (Early 1991). This type of playing gives the listener and impression of walking or marching, thus denoting it the title Stride (Early 1991). This new bass technique was vital for freeing the right hand for improvisation. James P. Johnson is one of many pianists to pioneer this style of playing and is often referred to as the Father of Stride (Early 1991).
