Becoming An Effective Manager For Ssa Essay
I am an employee of ODAR in Tupelo, MS for Region IV. I have worked for SSA/ODAR for
seven (7) years as Senior Legal Assistant, Administrative Assistant and now Hearing Operations
System Administrator (GS 0335 09/4).
During my years of service here, I have successfully accomplished my Associate degree in Public
Administration, Bachelors in Business Administration and in August of this year, I will have my
Master s in Business Administration. I am also a veteran who served during Desert Storm and
former Revenue Officer for the IRS.
My future aspiration is to become an effective manager for SSA. To do that I will need precise
guidance, training and experience. While serving in this program, my intentions and overall goal
is to gain a combination of valuable KSAs by experiencing higher levels of work (GS 12 13) in the
analytical, risk management and managerial fields.
Furthermore, the exposure to SSA is valuable all in itself. Last year, I served on a SkillsConnect
detail with OPE. I assisted with OPE s national recruitment efforts in performing analysis and
development the internal and external website pages for SSA Recruitment site to revitalize the
National Recruitment Program. The exposure of working with OPE s team members and the
opportunity to redesign the internal and external webpages for SSA will be cherished greatly. Our
website is set to go live in the very near future.
In conclusion, the OEP program states that the OEP participant will be given

Neck Elongating Culture
From the beginning of time, woman have done many things to change or modify their bodies. From
getting a simple henna tattoo, to getting a major plastic surgery, woman have gone about many
ways to change themselves. Neck elongating is one of the many ways that people adjust there
bodies. Although some of these practices are very minor and the effects on them are reversible,
neck elongating is not. The practice of neck elongating in Asia has a negative impact on the
community because it leads to permanent damage, results in starting at a young age, and causes the
rings to bring self confidence. Most importantly, the practice of neck elongating has a negative
impact on the community because it leads to health issues. According to one source,... Show more

This means they also do not get to chose how many things they get and at what age they want to
start (Du Toit). One source states that The neck rings are a form of branding ( Neck Elongating
). For example, if men from another tribe were to try to capture any women from any tribes they
would not pick the women with the rings because it was easy to see which tribe they were from.
Lastly, the rings really start to affect the body at the age of twelve ( Neck Ring ). This is the age
that the rings start to shift the bones in their body. Finally, The neck rings are not suitable for
women because they bring false self confidence. One source said, These women wear the rings
to look better for other people ( Neck Ring ). This means they are harming themselves for men.
Also, the rings are started when they are young ( Paudang Ring ). Clearly, they could hate them
when they re older, but can not do anything about it. Lastly, some of them are only confident
because of the rings ( Neck Elongating ). If they were to take off the rings they would feel bad about

The Coins Of Claudius, Faustina I, And Marcus Aurelius
The coin types may be considered political from the start, for the ubiquitous references to family
and to ancestral achievements were a normal part of political discourse at Rome. Coins were an
integral part of society in Rome. In addition to coins economic function, emperors used coins as
propaganda about their achievements and their family members. These coins would have been
produced and used throughout the empire as an abstract symbolism of power. This was the case
with funerary subject matter that was struck by heirs and other family members to showcase
individuals being consecrated, and their own power as a result of this association. In this essay, I
am going to examine the coins of Claudius, Faustina I, and Marcus Aurelius,... Show more content

The Aureus of Divus Claudius was struck under Nero after Claudius death in 54 B.C.E. During
Claudius reign, he proclaimed his intention to follow the policies of Augustus, and restored
stability after the follies of Caligula. He received the title of pater patriae in January 42 B.C.E.
Nero was Claudius stepson through Agrippina, and he was eventually adopted after Agrippina
convinced Claudius to pick Nero over Claudius own son Britannicus. By representing his
adopted father, Nero gained a smoother transition when he took over. The obverse of this coin
says DIVUS CLAUDIUS AUGUSTUS or the divine emperor Claudius along with a portrait of
Claudius. This was an important power distinction for Nero to make, as he would become the
son of a divine figure. The portrait of Claudius shows him as a mature man with wrinkles and a
laurel crown. This would have been how Claudius was represented in life as well as an eternal
middle aged figure. One of the characteristic features of Claudius shown on this coin is his
retreating Claudian chin. The reverse side shows a quadriga carrying a funeral wagon. Above the
wagon are statuary depictions of a divine figure with wings controlling four additional horses. This
imagery highlights Claudius divine nature, when he became a divus after his death. The Sestertius
of Diva Faustina I was struck under Antoninus Pius reign from between 141 to 162 B.C.E. Faustina
I was emperor Antoninus Pius wife and when she died a

Rice and Asian Culture
Rice and Asian Culture
In 1990, the rice is grown around 520 million tons in 112 countries and 95 percent of them were
produced and consumed in Asia (Chang). The rice in Asian culture is not just cereal, but it s part
of their lives. It serves their meal almost everyday on their dining table. Oryza sativa is a species
of monocot plants and known as Asian rice. The grain was spread started from South Asia to
Southeast Asia and East Asia.
South Asia
South Asia is the region that the rice was originated from, although the historical record shows
that China, in 2700 B.C., cultivated rice farm. Among countries in South Asia, India and
Bangladesh are the largest rice production countries (Mohanty 2014). There is largest paddy
field cultivation in India. Paddy field is a land filled with water where deep water rice grows. In
India, there are four kinds of rice are grown: dry or upland rice, rain fed rice, irrigated rice, and
deep water rice. Indians like to long shaped rice, which is, dry and separate when it s cooked
unlike East Asian countries. The most popular rice in India is basmati. The best quality basmati
comes from Dehra Dun located in Northern India. The lower grade rice, patna rice is produced
in Bihar located Eastern India near Nepal. Indians in rural area produced red rice, which has
thicker grain and rich nutrition. Plain boiled rice dish is served in South India and coastal
villages. Roasted dry rice mixed with vegetables is made in Bombay located in West Coast

Untested Rape Boxs
Recent events revealed earlier this year have brought to light the massive backlog of untested rape
kits. An increased public awareness of this backlog and approved funding has moved the issue from
the back burner.
While the effort of processing the backlog of rape kits is noble and of great public interest it may
leave some questioning the benefits that this testing provides to the survivors of sexual assault and
the general public.
In 2014 an estimated 2,700 untested rape kits in Utah were being submitted for processing. Some
kits dating back to as early as 1999.
The discovery of the backlog pushed lawmakers to fund the testing of these forgotten kits. And in
2014 Lawmakers approved $750,000 to begin the processing of the kits. ... Show more content on

Of those 767 kits submitted to the lab 586 have been processed to date.
But, as reported by the Salt Lake Police Department, of the 586 processed kits 89 of the matches
led to 63 possible investigations. Twelve of those 63 cases were submitted to the Salt Lake District
Attorney for further review and out of those, seven were denied. The remaining five cases led to
three perpetrators being incarcerated. The remaining two are thought to have fled the country.
The general public, as well as some survivors of sexual assault may feel as if testing the rape kits
will remove rapists from their communities and put them where they belong. However, with
statistics being so low it brings up the question of whether quicker return times on processed kits
would aid in a greater amount of charges being filed, or if testing all of the rape kits would even be
beneficial?
According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse Incest National Network) the benefits of having a sexual
assault exam done increases the chances of a perpetrator being identified. DNA evidence can
also hold up in court better and is more likely to lead to charges being filed. And finally, the
collected DNA evidence is added to the FBI database CODIS (Combined DNA Index System). So if
a perpetrator is not convicted and they do reoffend, their DNA is on file making it easier to connect

Kidney Stones Effect
Kidney stones are little, hard mineral stores that frame inside your kidneys. The stones are made of
mineral and corrosive salts.
Kidney stones have numerous causes and can influence any piece of your urinary tract from your
kidneys to your bladder.
A kidney stone may not bring about manifestations until it moves around inside your kidney or goes
into your ureter. But,some side effects are Severe torment in the side and back, beneath the ribs,
torment that spreads to the lower stomach area and crotch, torment that comes in waves and
changes in power, torment on pee, pink, red or cocoa pee, overcast or putrid pee, queasiness and
regurgitating, and steady need to urinate.
Kidney stones regularly have no clear, single cause, albeit a few components may build your
danger. Kidney stones structure when your pee contains more gem framing substances, for
example, calcium, oxalate and uric corrosive than the liquid in your pee can weaken. In the
meantime, your pee may need substances that keep gems from staying together, making a perfect
situation for kidney stones to frame. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analyzing Your Business s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats
GETTING STARTED
SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) is a method of assessing a
business, its resources, and its environment. Doing an analysis of this type is a good way to better
understand a business and its markets, and can also show potential investors that all options open
to, or affecting a business at a given time have been thought about thoroughly. The essence of the
SWOT analysis is to discover what you do well; how you could improve; whether you are making
the most of the opportunities around you; and whether there are any changes in your market such

Don t just make a list of mistakes that have been made, such as an occasion when a customer was
not called back promptly. Try to see the broader picture instead and learn from what happened. It
may be that your systems or processes could be improved so that customers are contacted at the
right time, so work on boosting your systems and making that change happen rather than looking
about for someone to blame. It s a good idea to get an outside viewpoint on what your
weaknesses are as your own perceptions may not always marry up to reality. You may strongly
believe that your years of experience in a sector reflect your business s thorough grounding and
knowledge of all of your customers needs. Your customers, on the other hand, may perceive this
wealth of experience as an old fashioned approach that shows an unwillingness to change and work
with new ideas. Be prepared to hear things you may not like, but which, ultimately, may be
extremely helpful. Spot the Opportunities The next step is to analyze your opportunities, and this
can be tackled in several ways. External opportunities can include the misfortune of competitors
who are not performing well, providing you with the opportunity to do better. There may be
technological developments that you could benefit from, such as broadband arriving in your area,
or a new process enhancing your products. There may be some legislative changes

Cata Spider Monkey Book Vs Movie
I choose the adaptation movie from novel twilight to make the difference between the novel and
film. The difference between watching its movie and reading its novel is the plot in the novel is
more detail compare to movie. The first reason why the novel is more detail than movie is the
scene in the movie is been cut by the director so that he can focus to an important scene only. So,
the people who did not read this novel will miss all extended plot or others character in the
novel. For example in the scene of movie, after Edward jumps out the window, he says, You
better hold on tight, Spider Monkey but in the novel it say that Edward never calls Bella Spider
Monkey in the book. In the novel after Edward teases Bella by saying Well, you

Discuss the origin and significance of diversity within and between species in a named taxonomic
group of your choice.
The stability of biodiversity over millions of years of evolution has been one of the most persistent
puzzles of ecology and evolution (Hutchinson, 1961). Different species had evolved from their
ancestral and were not created in their present forms (Darwin, 1859).
This essay will explore how diversity arises within and between species and the significance of it
using examples from the taxonomic group Apodiformes in the order Aves, which is known as
hummingbird. It was presently recognized that there are 338 species of ... Show more content on

Mutation is a change in the nucleotide sequence of an organism s DNA thus forming new alleles.
Even it involves only change in a single base, whether it be insertion, deletion or substitution the
effects are significant. The severity of the frame shift depends on how far down the DNA base
sequence the mutation occurs (Crick, 1961). It gives rise to the changes in genotype and therefore
different phenotype will be expressed. Sometimes mutations can occur in noncoding proteins region
and bring no effect to the phenotypic characteristic. This is known as neutral variation. Mutation is
a random and spontaneous process during DNA duplication. The formation of a harmful protein
may be disadvantageous to the organism. Selection pressure will remove these alleles and it will
not be passed on the next generations. On rare occasion, a mutant allele brings advantage to the
bearer by making it better adapted to the environment thus increasing the reproductive success. For
example, Patagona gigas living in Andean Highlands, an oxygen poor region in South Africa which
is 16,000 feet above sea level, experienced identical mutation independently and not by
interbreeding. The mutation change their haemoglobin gene make it easier for oxygen to bind
(Projecto Garcia, 2013). Hence high altitude hummingbirds have adaptive oxygen binding traits to
live in higher elevation zone.

Essay on Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral Palsy
According to the website www.cpal/geocities.org, I found some valuable information to help me
with my report about exceptionalities in students. This website was almost like a tutorial that
walked step by step through the disability, causes, and treatments.
I found that in definition the words Cerebral Palsy are used to describe a medical condition that
affects control of the muscles. Cerebral means anything in the head and palsy refers to anything
wrong with control of the muscles or joints in the body. If someone has cerebral palsy it means that
because of an injury to their brain (that s the cerebral part) they are not able to use some of the
muscles in their body in the normal way (that s the palsy part). Children ... Show more content on

Changes in muscle tone let us move.
In this website I also learned that there are several types of CP. I wrote the different types below to
help understand each one individually.
1. Spastic Cerebral Palsy
If muscle tone is too high or too tight, the term spastic is used to describe the type of cerebral
palsy. Children with spastic CP have stiff and jerky movements because their muscles are too tight.
They often have a hard time moving from one position to another or letting go of something in
their hand. This is the most common type of CP. About half of all people with CP have spastic CP.
2. Ataxic Cerebral Palsy
Low muscle tone and poor coordination of movements is described as ataxic CP. Kids with
ataxic CP look very unsteady and shaky. They have a lot of shakiness, like a tremor you might
have seen in a very old person, especially when they are trying to do something like write or turn
a page or cut with scissors. They also often have very poor balance and may be very unsteady
when they walk. Because of the shaky movements and problems coordinating their muscles, kids
with ataxic CP may take longer to finish writing or art projects.
3. Athetoid Cerebral Palsy
The term athetoid is used to describe the type of cerebral palsy when muscle tone is mixed
sometimes too high and sometimes too low. Children with athetoid CP have trouble holding

Biological And Scientific Racism In The 19th Century
Racism is an issue that has been prevalent in the majority of human existence, one that so many
have sought to understand, explain, enforce and destroy. Some of the earliest views of ethnic and
racial differences to date stem from Ancient Egypt and their dichotomy of the darker group the evil
race of Ish and the lighter group the pale degraded raceof Arvad (Gossett, 1997). As scientists
developed a deeper understanding of natural history, societies became increasingly fascinated in
further classifying human groups with the exploration of many theories such as biological and
social constructions of racismand scientific racism, all of which participated and encouraged the

Scientific racism continued to draw from the likings of anthropology, which eventually led to
implementations of eugenics, compulsory sterilization, anti miscegenation laws, and immigration
restrictions in Europe and the United States after the Second World War in 1939. Hitler and the
Nazi party made people see the dark side of eugenics after Hitler took things into his own hands
believing that the Germanic race was the most superior; the master race, suitable for expulsion,
enslavement or extermination and therefore needed to be selectively bred and improved . He
enthusiastically started sterilization laws and restricted immigration. Six million people were
killed under the Nazi regime on eugenic ground in attempt to justify eugenics and genocide on the
grounds of inferiority. Eugenics became a global embarrassment and created a large re think
within society, discrediting scientific racism in academia as they were outraged by one of histories
most horrific mass murder being justified because of a desired inequality between races, however

2. And why was it alleged that Walter Hodges was not in trade or business during 2010? III.
Analysis:
Issue 1.
The issue for decision is whether Walter Hodges is entitled under section В§162 to deduct claims
on his 2010 Schedule C, Profit or Loss from Business. Upon examination of Mr. Hodges tax
return, the IRS disallowed Mr. Hodges Schedule C expenses because he failed to substantiate his
expenses or to prove that they were ordinary and necessary to his business. Section В§162(a)
states that all the ordinary and necessary expenses paid or incurred during the taxable year in any
trade shall be allowed as deductions. Section В§162(a) specifies that such expenses must be
directly connected with or pertain to the taxpayer s trade or business that is functioning as a
business at the time the expenses were incurred. Furthermore, Walter Hodges largest expenditure
was training classes for $25,000 which was an educational expense incurred to prepare for a new
career as a real estate investor and renter rather than to maintain or improve skills in an ongoing
business or career so it was not a deductible under section В§162 (sect. 1.162. 5, Income Tax Reg.).
Issue 2:
Furthermore, it was asserted that Ms. Hodges was not engaged in the business of investing, renting,

Mulan And Ban Zhao s Lessons For Women
Filial piety in Confucianism is represented in both the movie Mulan and Ban Zhao s Lessons for
Women. We can see that in Confucianism filial piety is a virtue of respect for ones parents,
elders, and ancestors. Women specifically though in Chinese culture after three days of birth of a
baby girl are supposed to place the baby underneath the bed to indicate that she is lowly, weak
and seek to understand that to humble herself is her primary duty. Also, they are supposed to give
her a piece of broken pottery to practice labor and for it to be her primary duty to be industrious.
Lastly, they are supposed to announce the baby girl at birth so to show her, her primary duty is the

Fermentation is undoubtedly the most important stage to achieve the taste of the beer, because
while sugar transformation into alcohol and carbonic gas takes place, yeast produces other
substances in very small quantities, which are responsible for the aroma and flavor of the beer. The
development of chemical analysis procedures that took place during recent years allowed a more
comprehensive understanding about beer composition. It is therefore during the fermentation
process that the beer style is created. This process normally will take a month.
These two steps are shown by figure 1.
Figure 1
The packaging process occurs after the fermentation. The beer flows to the keg, canning, and
bottling lines when it our of the government cellar. There are five canning lines, three bottling
lines, and a keg line can be run in the Winston Salem brewery. The capacity for can lines is 1300
cans per minute, for bottle lines is 900 bottles per minute, and for keg line is 340 half barrels per
hour. For the five can lines, all the brands of beer can be canned at the same time, or one brand
of beer can be canned with two different types at the same time. For three bottle lines, different
bottle shapes and sizes can be filled at the same time, and new bottles and returnable bottles can
be separated when filling and packaging. The packaging process also can be divided into two
steps: 1. filling and capping and 2. pasteurizing. The packaging will

The first article is about how, in 2016, Virginia s Democratic governor and Virginian Republicans
compromised on gun safety. This issue impacts Virginia as it allows citizens from states with less
strict concealed gun carry laws to carry their guns in Virginia, which potentially could cause safety
issues. Nonetheless, it also allows state police to conduct background checks in gun shows and
restricts people who have committed domestic abuse from buying weapons, which, in total, makes
the state safer. The parties involved in this compromise are Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and
Speaker William J. Howell, however, in the article, House Leader David Toscano and the Coalition

Daniel Shays, a former Revolutionary Army captain, led a rebellion with farmers, against laws
which were not fair to the poor. They protested against excessive taxes on property, polling taxes
which obtained the poor from voting, unfair actions by the court of common requests, the high cost
of lawsuits, and the lack of a stable currency. They wanted the government to issue paper money,

The combined multi attribute and Kano model provide some guidance regarding how service is
perceived by bank customers in the mass affluent segment. There exists a substantial heterogeneity
in customer perceptions of the service quality items (Strandberg et al., 2012). An alternative model
presented by Gronroos (1990) emphasizes the functional (how), technical (what), and servicescape
(where) dimensions. Gronroos (1990) includes the servicescape attributes in the functional
dimension, while others (Bitner, 1992; Rust and Oliver, 1994) see the servicescape as a discrete
dimension. According to Kang (2006), recent studies have attempted to include more items in
models of perceived servicequality, particularly items related to Gronroos dimensions (Strandberg
et al., 2012). According to Kano et al. (1984) quality attributes can be divided into four distinct
categories: taken for granteds, which produce dissatisfaction if they are performed unsatisfactory
but will not result in increased satisfaction if they are performed above that level; proportionals,
which produce more satisfaction the superior the performance and more dissatisfaction the poorer
the performance; delighters, which creates satisfaction if they are performed but not necessarily in
dissatisfaction if they are not performed; neutrals, which are traits to which the customer is
indifferent (Strandberg et al., 2012).

Developing Jobs To Ensure All Employees Are Fully Satisfied
Developing jobs to ensure all employees are fully satisfied and engaged is a difficult task.
Human beings contain a variety of personal traits and qualities, which cause individuals to seek
out an array of interests. Meaning, fully catering to each employee s interest is nearly
impossible. At the end of the day, duties must be completed, even if the job doesn t completely
align with a worker. With this being said, if all four employees enacted their jobs exactly as they
were written job performance, engagement, and satisfaction would suffer. It s not as if these
employees despise all aspects of their job. But, if these employees could not find a way to be
motivated, engaged, and connected, it will force workers to reject their position... Show more

However, if Andy could no longer be a part of the organization s development, he would not find
value in his work. Previously coming from a job where Andy felt expendable, it s safe to say if
this feeling arose again, he would find another line of work. Andy has spent a significant amount
of time and money at school; not fully utilizing his talents, will make Andy feel like a waste. It
certainly would be a waste, because the company wouldn t have benefited from Andy s energy
efficient techniques. Same goes for Jake. Jake is the type of person who thrives on
communication, learning, and teaching. Forcing Jake to precisely follow his job description,
takes away all socialization. Working in a quiet room all day would cause Jake to fall into a
depressed state. As a result, his work will begin to suffer, more errors will occur, and he will
most likely search for a job which values his abilities. Karen falls into the same sequence.
Without job crafting, Karen would be consumed with data analytics and no longer see the
positives in her job. Not only would she begin to dislike her job, but her talents would be wasted
as well. If this was the case, I do not see Karen lasting in her position. Overall, the major themes
here is, low employee satisfaction leads to poor workplace morale, decreased productivity and high
turnover rate. Allowing employees to craft their jobs according to personal interest, empowers

The Chosen Character Analysis
The Characteristics of a Coach
Everyone in society should be a role model, not only for their own self respect, but for respect
from others. ~ Barry Bonds. In this world bad situations occur frequently and it takes a good
strong person to handle them in a mature way. Dealing with them this way not only shows that
the person has self control, but also makes them a good role model for people to look up to. In the
book The Chosen, Chaim Potok uses Mr. Galanter to express his opinions of a good role model.
Acting as a baseball coach and gym teacher, young boys look to him for guidance and motivation
every day. Having this kind of position causes stress at times, and requires him to stay calm and

Current Rate Of Technological Advancement And The Growth...
Businesses continually adapt to a changing environment to maintain their market position
(Appelbaum, Habashy, Malo, Shafiq, 2012; Biedenbacha Soumlderholma, 2008). Change is
inevitable considering the current rate of technological advancement and the growth in global
competition (Appelbaum et al., 2012; Armenakis Harris, 2009; By, 2007). Increasing competition
and the need for strategic flexibility and globalization is affecting almost every organization today,
regardless of size, market, focus, and so on (Jaros, 2010).
Change is a process of transitioning from one approach to another (Parsley Corrigan, 1994) and

Communication
The organization affected by the change is the target of effective change communication. Many
organizations establish a communication plan to alert the internal staff and external stakeholders of
a pending change to operations. Fox begins a technology change at the senior executive level with
the development of the business strategy and the funding future actions. As the project commences,
a development team containing members of engineering, operations, and production meeting to
develop the project specification and assure the technology meets the requirements. The production
and operations organization communicate with their staff to ensure the conceptual change will
meet each organization s goals. Eventually, operations and production agents of change are enlisted
to begin selling the pending change to the members of the staff by developing operating procedures.
Eventually, the implementation of the technology is complete, and the training and testing by
operations are determined. The communication of the pending implementation begins, and the
change begins.

Evaluation Of The Testing Techniques
4.3 Evaluation of the Testing Techniques
4.3.1 Hypothesis
According to Wetcher Hendricks (2014), the basic principle of hypothesis testing is to make an
assumption for the overall characteristics, and then making a judgment about the original
hypothesis should be accepted or not, which is based on the statistical inference. Based on the
research objective, the general idea of hypothesis testing for PPP started from the null hypothesis,
which was expressed as having a unit root. Next, performing t test, meanwhile, comparing the value
of t statistic with test critical values under the selected confidence interval. When the value of t
statistic was larger than the critical value, the null hypothesis would not be rejected, meaning the
existence of the unit root. If the t statistic value was smaller than the critical value, one rejected the
null hypothesis, which implies that the financial time series is stationary.
4.3.2 Unit Root Test
The Unit Root Test, also named Augmented Dickey Fuller Test (ADF Test), is put forward
according to whether the macroeconomic datum or financial datum has some special
characteristics, which is a particular method to test stationarity of the financial time series (Choi,
2015). To put it simply, testing the unit root is to examine whether there will be a unit root in the
analysis of time series or not. The financial time series would be considered as non stationarity if
the unit root exists, which is likely to result in spurious regressions. Due

Relations Between Russia And The United States
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to own and operate a business in Russia? As
Americans, we pretty much know the ins and outs of business there us operations in the United
States, even if one has never owned a business; it is already implied. What are the key differences
in business between Russiaand the United States? Politics in business is apparent in America, but
what about in Russia? To what extent does the Russian government interfere in business, if at all?
The laws of business may be as different as night and day between the two countries. Russian and
American cultures are definitely different, but what roles do the two cultures play in business?
Language differences are most certainly a barrier when running a business in Russia, as an
American. Where there are politics, there is also corruption, despite which country one is
conducting business in. Is there a considerable difference, though, between the two governments
and levels of corruption? These are questions a person must ask themselves if they are to consider
running a business outside of their native country. We are going to use Russia as an example in
this experiment to see what the differences are, if any, between the two powerhouse nations in the
world of business. Many officials at the top of the Russian political ladder do not seem to think the
economy in Russia is stable enough to last a moderate amount of time. The main reason many
people think the Russian economy is in

The Effect Of Temperature On The Rate Of Reaction Of...
An Investigation of the Effects of Temperature on the Rates of Reaction of Enzyme Activity
Enzymes are important protein macromolecules that act as biological catalysts that catalyse
biochemical reactions and speed up reaction rates inside the living systems of plant and animal
cells. The practical studies the break down reaction rate of enzymes where the substrate molecule
binds and interacts with the complementary enzyme at the active site. For the break down process,
activation energy located in the reserves of molecules is needed. In this case an initial input of
energy is needed for the reaction to start, however, when accompanied by an enzyme, little
activation energy is needed for a higher reaction to occur. Enzymes lower activation energy by
applying pressure to the weak hydrogen bonds. When the bonds break or weaken through the
alteration of orientation in the shape of the substrate, this leads to the enzyme reaction; the
molecule breaks down and the substrate is split into its two original products.
The free energy released in this investigation is oxygen gas. This substance is released when the
decomposition of the reactive chemical bi product Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2)(which is the bi
product of metabolism), needs to be broken down and converted into water and oxygen in order to
avoid the unwanted accumulation of toxicity in cells.

Special Education Curriculum For Students With Disabilities
1.From your perspective, what exactly, are we talking about when we say special education
curriculum ? At first I was a little confused about this question. I was thinking about special
education curriculum in the terms of an adaptive curriculum. After reading the articles form this
module and locating my own article, special educationcurriculum refers to what educators are doing
to make the general education curriculum accessible to students with disabilities. Although there
have been many changes related to the education of students with disabilities, there is still a
noticeable gap in achievement between students without disabilities and students with disabilities
(Aron Loprest, 2012).
2.Describe the legal climate of special education today. How does this climate affect the decisions
we make in designing and implementing special education curricula? Provide specific examples.
There are many legal issues that arise in the area of special education. During the summer 2015
school term I completed the course Special Education Law. In this course I discovered that
litigation regarding the laws of IDEA and Section 504 are on the rise. Parents are more educated
of their rights and there are advocates as well as organizations readily available to assist student

Puritan Citizen In The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne
Throughout the novel The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne develops compelling characters that
are starkly different from the normal Puritan citizen. The novel mainly focuses on Hester, a Puritan
woman living in New England, and the story of her affair and how it affects her life and the lives

Disadvantages Of Mantis Shrimp

natural tone for the whole tank besides fish and turtles. Not only does the collection of the
colorful live rocks beautifies one s tank but also provides shelters for the fish and filters the
whole tank. However, everything has a good side and the bad one. The addition of live rocks to
the tank may have some potential drawbacks, for not every organism living on those marine rocks
is important, and even some of them are disadvantageous to the tank itself. One exemplary
unwanted organism which lives on live rocks is the Mantis Shrimp, which maybe accidentally
introduced to the tank through the addition of live rocks. Mantis shrimp, which is a varicolored
creature living in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, is an extraordinary pet, for not only does it
colorful body impresses the people but also its powerful appendages, which are a nightmare to
crabs, gastropods, and almost all other animals in the sea. Due to its interesting feature, many
people at the present favor this species. In addition, some people even want to adopt the mantis
shrimps as their pets; nevertheless, there are many hardships coming along with this desire. As a
growing infant who can mess up with everything within his or her reach, the mantis shrimp can eat
up its neighboring organisms and some marine plants in the tank. The mantis shrimp is well known
by many scientists for its powerful weapon the raptorial appendages which is equipped for the sake
of its survival. It is this feature of the shrimp that makes it a strong hunter in the nature. Due to this
feature, especially the one owned by the Smasher species of the Mantis Shrimp, the shrimp has no
trouble breaking preys with tough shells such as crabs and snails. In addition to the raptorial
appendages, the mantis shrimp can swim insanely fast, thereby boiling water around it. While one

wanted human kind to be made in his image and he wanted to change the relationship between

that he could be the Saviour of mankind. Our saviour came in the flesh, in human form and it was

The War During The Cold War Essay
As the Second World War came to a close and American and Soviet forces marched into German
territory, both states understood that shortly thereafter their common foe would be defeated and
their relationship very well could deteriorate. Even prior to the United States entrance into the war,
media companies and state officials themselves spoke out against the evils of communism, though
that rhetoric was put on hold as the Soviet Unionand America fought alongside one another against
the Axis powers. As Rider points out, while the U.S. propaganda apparatus was almost totally
dismantled at the war s end, Truman still wanted to ensure that other peoples receive[d] a full and
fair picture of American life, which became the basis for the substantial psychological war both the
Soviets and Americans engaged in throughout the Cold War. While a considerable amount of
attention in historical academia has been given to the proxy wars, space race, and arms build up

excellent job of exploring the role of sports, athletes, and particularly the media in the propagandist
battle both states waged, discussing the numerous individuals, various committees, and notable
confrontations between the USSR and the USA in the realm of sports. Propaganda had long been a

Inferno Research Paper
Inferno Research Paper Anthony K. Cassell stated in his critical essay titled Farinata that the
methods of punishment in Dante s Hell are exquisitely diverse. The cantos in Inferno are focused
on Circles or subdivisions of Hell that describe specific punishments for the suffering souls based
upon the sin they committed. The deeper into Hell, the worse the sins that were committed, therefore
the agonies of the punishments are greater. In Inferno, Dante brings the issue of sin into light by
giving instances of sins he has taken note of. He places the guilty souls at different levels of Hell,
depending on which crimes he believes are the worst to commit, showing how Dante portrayed his
understanding of God s justice (Cassell).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pope Nicholas says he is guilty of simony, so Dante does not pity him. Dante tells him to stay
stuck there, for you are rightly punished (XIX.97). This is when Dante first begins to realize that
God s justice is present is Hell. He then speaks out against all corrupt churchmen, and claims if he
were not restrained, he would use even harsher words. Dante then becomes amazed, if not
pleasured, with some of the punishments. In the Circle containing Thieves, Dante watches in
amazement as a serpent bites a sinner between the shoulders, causing the soul to instantly catch
fire, burn up, and then rise from the ashes to return to the pit of the serpents. In the First Ring of
the Ninth Circle of Hell, called Caina, named after Cain who killed his brother Abel in Genesis,
those who betrayed their kin are punished. The souls must stand in ice frozen up to their heads.
Dante witnesses twins frozen face to face, butting their heads against each other in rage. Dante
accidentally kicks Bocca degli Abati in the face, then leans down to apologize. Once he recognizes
this soul, he tears out his hair before leaving him in the ice. With the constant rebuking from Virgil,
Dante has learned to not pity the damned souls. He learns to reconcile his sympathy for the
suffering with the harsh violence of divine justice as he begins to see that the punishments fit the
crimes committed. In Canto VI of Inferno, the Third Circle of Hell rains filth and excrement, and

The End Of The Cold War
The end of the Cold War marks more than just the end of the arms race, between the Soviet Union
and the United States, it also marks the weakening of communism. Communism, the greatest enemy
to the west during the Cold War had to be put down at any cost, this meant supporting militaristic
dictatorships that were against communism. The weakening of communism, however, ignited
Global Democratic Revolutions in which the people sought to gain the power back from the
government. These revolutions were mostly centered on the year 1989, and demonstrated the will
of the people to stop the oppression of these dictators or communist parties. The Philippines were no
different, independent organizations such as JAJA and NAMFREL rallied against the militaristic
dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos. Additionally, the intervention of the church proved to be a
powerful uniting tool for the revolution, in a catholic predominant society. Women played no small
role, Corazon Aquinochallenged Marcos politically, and many were involved in public rallies. As a
result, the Philippines peacefully defeated the oppressive rule of Marcos and entered a state of
Democratic stability. To bring about the revolution, it took the combines effort of the Aquino
family, individual organizations, the church, and individual citizens. In 1983 an exiled senator

bed, wrapped in a soft, warm blanket I sat, pondering How could a boy I had never seen or met
before be obsessed with me? . I picked up my smooth phone and texted my other friend the latest
news. Hey guess what? I posed. Within seconds she replied. Wot? Today I discovered that some
guy I have never met is obsessed with me! What? No way! Who? His name is Branden Busby, I
guess. I don t know I just met him today I swiftly typed in respondes. Seriously?! she asked

Essay On Stimulants
Some of the most commonly abused substances, that can cause serious psychological and physical
side effects are stimulants. Substance abuse has been a problem in the United States and many
other countries for a long time, stimulants are one of the biggest problems that the United States
faces today. One specific drug that is abused is crack and crack cocaine. By examining the history of
stimulants such as crack and crack cocaine, it s connection to crime and violence will be revealed.
Psychoactive drugs, such as stimulants have a lot to do with the alteration or manipulation of brain
activity (Cherry, K., 2015). A good example of how stimulants can alter brain activity would be,
after a person takes a drugs such is cocaine they may experience a feeling of elevated alertness
temporarily. According toCherry, K. (2015), drugs that are classified as stimulants include:
caffeine, narcotics, cocaine, amphetamines and prescription drugs. The most common legitimate
use for stimulantthat drugs, would be for ADHD. The most common illegal uses for stimulant
drugs would be for sports, parties and college students (studying). Stimulants work by increasing
the speed of the the messages going between the brain and the body by increasing the activity of
the central nervous system Stimulant drugs are widely used very addictive, while some of these
drugs are illegal many of them are not. The cost of drugs that are not considered to be legal are the
stimulant prescription drugs.

Argumentative Essay On Immigration And Crime
In his acceptance speech, Donald Trump mentioned his opinion on immigrants. He said, They are
being released by the tens of thousands into our communities with no regard for the impact on
public safety or resources...We are going to build a great border wall to stop illegal immigration, to
stop the gangs and the violence, and to stop the drugs from pouring into our communities.
However, this is not true. Immigrants are coming to the United States for many reasons other than to
cause crime or violence. In fact, most immigrants come to the United States to escape dangerous
situations, to have a better life, and to work.
Therefore, immigrants are not coming to the United States and bringing crime and violence. They
are coming to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However this is not true and should not be how immigrants are viewed.
Statistics show that native born people are more likely to commit a serious crime or be incarcerated
than an immigrant. Tolerance.org states that, Statistics show that immigrants are less likely to
commit serious crimes or be behind bars than native born people are, and high rates of immigration
are associated with lower rates of violent crime and property crime (tolerance.org).
This quote proves that immigrants are not the reason we have so much crime and violence. The
quote goes on to say that high rates of immigration have an effect on lower rates of crime and
violence, it is basically saying that the more immigrants that come to America, the less crime and
violence
A fact that further proves that immigrants are not bringing crime and violence is that states that
have the most immigration rates have the least amount of crime.
Adl.org states that, ...studies have in fact found that crime rates are lowest in states with the highest
immigration growth

During my years of service here, I have successfully accomplished my Associate degree in Public Administration, Bachelors in Business Administration and in August of this year, I will have my Master s in Business Administration. I am also a veteran who served during Desert Storm and former Revenue Officer for the IRS. My future aspiration is to become an effective manager for SSA. To do that I will need precise guidance, training and experience. While serving in this program, my intentions and overall goal is to gain a combination of valuable KSAs by experiencing higher levels of work (GS 12 13) in the analytical, risk management and managerial fields. Furthermore, the exposure to SSA is valuable all in itself. Last year, I served on a SkillsConnect detail with OPE. I assisted with OPE s national recruitment efforts in performing analysis and development the internal and external website pages for SSA Recruitment site to revitalize the National Recruitment Program. These coins would have been produced and used throughout the empire as an abstract symbolism of power. The Aureus of Divus Claudius was struck under Nero after Claudius death in 54 B.C.E. During Claudius reign, he proclaimed his intention to follow the policies of Augustus, and restored stability after the follies of Caligula. He received the title of pater patriae in January 42 B.C.E. Nero was Claudius stepson through Agrippina, and he was eventually adopted after Agrippina convinced Claudius to pick Nero over Claudius own son Britannicus. By representing his adopted father, Nero gained a smoother transition when he took over. The obverse of this coin says DIVUS CLAUDIUS AUGUSTUS or the divine emperor Claudius along with a portrait of Claudius. This was an important power distinction for Nero to make, as he would become the son of a divine figure. The portrait of Claudius shows him as a mature man with wrinkles and a laurel crown. This would have been how Claudius was represented in life as well as an eternal middle aged figure. One of the characteristic features of Claudius shown on this coin is his retreating Claudian chin. The reverse side shows a quadriga carrying a funeral wagon. Above the wagon are statuary depictions of a divine figure with wings controlling four additional horses. An increased public awareness of this backlog and approved funding has moved the issue from the back burner. While the effort of processing the backlog of rape kits is noble and of great public interest it may leave some questioning the benefits that this testing provides to the survivors of sexual assault and the general public. In 2014 an estimated 2,700 untested rape kits in Utah were being submitted for processing. Some kits dating back to as early as 1999. Even it involves only change in a single base, whether it be insertion, deletion or substitution the effects are significant. The severity of the frame shift depends on how far down the DNA base sequence the mutation occurs (Crick, 1961). It gives rise to the changes in genotype and therefore different phenotype will be expressed. Sometimes mutations can occur in noncoding proteins region and bring no effect to the phenotypic characteristic. This is known as neutral variation. Mutation is a random and spontaneous process during DNA duplication. The formation of a harmful protein may be disadvantageous to the organism. Selection pressure will remove these alleles and it will not be passed on the next generations. On rare occasion, a mutant allele brings advantage to the bearer by making it better adapted to the environment thus increasing the reproductive success. For example, Patagona gigas living in Andean Highlands, an oxygen poor region in South Africa which is 16,000 feet above sea level, experienced identical mutation independently and not by interbreeding. The mutation change their haemoglobin gene make it easier for oxygen to bind (Projecto Garcia, 2013). Children with spastic CP have stiff and jerky movements because their muscles are too tight. They often have a hard time moving from one position to another or letting go of something in their hand. Businesses continually adapt to a changing environment to maintain their market position (Appelbaum, Habashy, Malo, Shafiq, 2012; Biedenbacha Soumlderholma, 2008). • 25. Evaluation Of The Testing Techniques 4.3 Evaluation of the Testing Techniques 4.3.1 Hypothesis According to Wetcher Hendricks (2014), the basic principle of hypothesis testing is to make an assumption for the overall characteristics, and then making a judgment about the original hypothesis should be accepted or not, which is based on the statistical inference. Based on the research objective, the general idea of hypothesis testing for PPP started from the null hypothesis, which was expressed as having a unit root. Next, performing t test, meanwhile, comparing the value of t statistic with test critical values under the selected confidence interval. When the value of t statistic was larger than the critical value, the null hypothesis would not be rejected, meaning the existence of the unit root. If the t statistic value was smaller than the critical value, one rejected the null hypothesis, which implies that the financial time series is stationary. 4.3.2 Unit Root Test The Unit Root Test, also named Augmented Dickey Fuller Test (ADF Test), is put forward according to whether the macroeconomic datum or financial datum has some special characteristics, which is a particular method to test stationarity of the financial time series (Choi, 2015). To put it simply, testing the unit root is to examine whether there will be a unit root in the analysis of time series or not. The financial time series would be considered as non stationarity if the unit root exists, which is likely to result in spurious regressions. Due ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What are the key differences in business between Russiaand the United States? Politics in business is apparent in America, but what about in Russia? To what extent does the Russian government interfere in business, if at all? The laws of business may be as different as night and day between the two countries. Russian and American cultures are definitely different, but what roles do the two cultures play in business? Language differences are most certainly a barrier when running a business in Russia, as an American. Where there are politics, there is also corruption, despite which country one is conducting business in. Is there a considerable difference, though, between the two governments and levels of corruption? These are questions a person must ask themselves if they are to consider running a business outside of their native country. We are going to use Russia as an example in this experiment to see what the differences are, if any, between the two powerhouse nations in the world of business. • 27. The Effect Of Temperature On The Rate Of Reaction Of... An Investigation of the Effects of Temperature on the Rates of Reaction of Enzyme Activity Enzymes are important protein macromolecules that act as biological catalysts that catalyse biochemical reactions and speed up reaction rates inside the living systems of plant and animal cells. The practical studies the break down reaction rate of enzymes where the substrate molecule binds and interacts with the complementary enzyme at the active site. For the break down process, activation energy located in the reserves of molecules is needed. In this case an initial input of energy is needed for the reaction to start, however, when accompanied by an enzyme, little activation energy is needed for a higher reaction to occur. Enzymes lower activation energy by applying pressure to the weak hydrogen bonds. When the bonds break or weaken through the alteration of orientation in the shape of the substrate, this leads to the enzyme reaction; the molecule breaks down and the substrate is split into its two original products. The free energy released in this investigation is oxygen gas. This substance is released when the decomposition of the reactive chemical bi product Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2)(which is the bi product of metabolism), needs to be broken down and converted into water and oxygen in order to avoid the unwanted accumulation of toxicity in cells. • 38. Inferno Research Paper Inferno Research Paper Anthony K. Cassell stated in his critical essay titled Farinata that the methods of punishment in Dante s Hell are exquisitely diverse. The cantos in Inferno are focused on Circles or subdivisions of Hell that describe specific punishments for the suffering souls based upon the sin they committed. The deeper into Hell, the worse the sins that were committed, therefore the agonies of the punishments are greater. In Inferno, Dante brings the issue of sin into light by giving instances of sins he has taken note of. He places the guilty souls at different levels of Hell, depending on which crimes he believes are the worst to commit, showing how Dante portrayed his understanding of God s justice (Cassell).... This is when Dante first begins to realize that God s justice is present is Hell. He then speaks out against all corrupt churchmen, and claims if he were not restrained, he would use even harsher words. Dante then becomes amazed, if not pleasured, with some of the punishments. In the Circle containing Thieves, Dante watches in amazement as a serpent bites a sinner between the shoulders, causing the soul to instantly catch fire, burn up, and then rise from the ashes to return to the pit of the serpents. In the First Ring of the Ninth Circle of Hell, called Caina, named after Cain who killed his brother Abel in Genesis, those who betrayed their kin are punished. The souls must stand in ice frozen up to their heads. Dante witnesses twins frozen face to face, butting their heads against each other in rage. Dante accidentally kicks Bocca degli Abati in the face, then leans down to apologize. Once he recognizes this soul, he tears out his hair before leaving him in the ice. With the constant rebuking from Virgil, Dante has learned to not pity the damned souls. Communism, the greatest enemy to the west during the Cold War had to be put down at any cost, this meant supporting militaristic dictatorships that were against communism. The weakening of communism, however, ignited Global Democratic Revolutions in which the people sought to gain the power back from the government.
