4. CREDIT CARD
In 1980, the Central Bank of India
brought out the first bank credit card,
followed by Andhra Bank, both of which
were Visa cards. Vijaya Bank was the first
to introduce MasterCard credit cards to
Indians in 1988.

16. INDIRECT TAX
GST, or Goods and Services Tax, is an
indirect tax imposed on the supply of
goods and services. It is a multi-stage,
destination-oriented tax imposed on every
value addition, replacing multiple indirect
taxes, including VAT, excise duty, service
taxes, etc.
17. On 1st July, 2017, GST laws were
implemented, replacing a complex web
of Central and State taxes. Under the
Indian GST, goods and services are
categorized into different tax slabs,
including 0% 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%.
