WHAT IS PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT ?
1. Personality development refers to the process
2. Organized thought and behavior patterns
3. Make a person's unique.
4. Designed to improve talents, potential, employability, and wealth.
5. Many factors influence like genetics, environment, parenting and societal variables.
DETERMINANTS OF PERSONALITY
Following are the factors which help in shaping one’s personality:
1. Heredity - Heredity refers to factors that are determined once an individual is born. An
individual’s physique, attractiveness, body type, complexion, body weight depend on his/her
parents biological makeup.
2. Environment - The environment to which an individual is subjected to during his growing
years plays an important role in determining his/her personality. The varied cultures in which
we are brought up and our family backgrounds have a crucial role in shaping our
personalities.
3. Situation - An individual’s personality also changes with current circumstances and
situations. An individual would behave in a different way when he/she has enough savings
with him and his behavior would automatically change when he is bankrupt.

MOTIVATION & INNOVATION
Motivation is the desire to act in service of a goal. It is the crucial element in setting and
attaining our objectives. Motivation is one of the driving forces behind human behavior. It
fuels competition and sparks social connection. Its absence can lead to mental illnesses such
as depression. Motivation encompasses the desire to continue striving toward meaning,
purpose, and a life worth living.
Intrinsic motivation comes from within the individual and is driven by internal factors like -
enjoyment, curiosity, the desire for achievement or success, the need for recognition or
approval, or a sense of fulfillment. It occurs when people pursue an activity for its own sake.
An activity in order to gain an external reward in return. Your goal is focused on an
outcome, and does not satisfy your basic psychological needs. Extrinsic motivation are the
external factors or push factors.
1. Going to work because you want to earn money.
2. Studying because you want to get a good grade.
3. Helping others because you hope for praise.
4. Volunteering because it looks good on a resume.
5. Going to the same store because you benefit from loyalty programs.
6. Going to new places because you want to post it on social media.
7. Paying taxes because you want to avoid a fine.
8. Pursuing a certain degree because you want to make your parents proud.
9. Going on a business trip because you were ordered by your boss to do so.
