LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

Various sizes of dots, eyes and self portraits cover the white walls of the Ota Fine Arts gallery
showcasing Yayoi Kusama s solo exhibition in Singapore. On display are 33 small size painting
that are created between 2011 and 2012 and executed around 2004. These paintings show a
variety of mediums all produced by the 87 year old dotted Japanese artist. Renowned for using
repetitive motifs of dotted organisms within her new range of work we could gain a new viewpoint
of her eccentric art. Yayoi Kusama: Prints is a vibrant and breathtaking exhibition it is highly
recommended for everyone, especially those who had an admiration for her works, Japanese
culture, and prints. Within this small gallery space, Kusama s legacy and passion could be seen
and felt. Yayoi Kusama s life long work is an exploration of her depersonalization syndrome.
Using polka dots as a representation of her own self obliteration, universe and body cells her
hallucinations and obsessional images are reflected on various mediums of paintings and
sculptures (Grady T. Turner, Yayoi Kusama). Although her works are primarily known for the use
of repetitive dots, pumpkins and the Infinity Mirror Room, Kusama s belief in art is not only about
self expression but also reflects political and humanitarian issues too. Yayoi Kusama allows her

3. Persuasive Essay On Butterflies
You have decided to release butterflies at your wedding. Do not wait too long to look for a
farmer to purchase your butterflies. It takes approximately 4 to 5 weeks to raise the butterflies.
You want to make sure that you are able to purchase the type and quantity of butterflies that you
would like. So it is a good idea to start looking at least 3 months or more in advance and reserve
your butterflies, preferably 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Most farmers ask that ВЅ be paid to reserve
the butterflies and the remainder is due approximately 2 weeks before the event.
When you are looking for butterflies, you will find that there are up to 9 different types that the

Its colors are an orange brown, with black markings along with some white markings on its upper
wings. They are not as expensive as the Monarch. They also are a smaller butterfly, with a wing
span of 2 2 7/8 inches. They do work well in displays because of their size and they seem to be
happy in smaller areas.
Black Swallowtails Black Swallowtails are a beautiful butterfly. They have a wing span of about 3
Вј 4 Вј . They are mostly black with males having a yellow band near the edge of their wings.
Females have a row of yellow spots and a iridescent blue band. They have tails that can be easily
broken. Also, if handled too much, their color does come off. These are raised by more butterfly
farmers, but still not by a majority of them. You may be able to use these in a mixed release.
American Painted Lady The American Painted Lady looks very similar to the Painted Lady. It has
less white markings on its upper wings. Not as many farmers raise this type though, and you may

4. Walker Percy s Loss Of The Creature
Walker Percy explored the different aspects of human behavior in his essay, Loss of the Creature.
He saw people for being blind to the potential they have in the activities they do. The world is
being seen through phones and pictures, never by the real experiences or by the naked eye.
Humans will experiencea vast amount of information in their lives, but too much exposure leads
to boredom. Percy s opinion is to experience subjects on your own, to think about what is
happening, instead of being told or shown, and to discover what has never been found before.
Tours are useless, projects are disregarding towards their meaning, and his essay persuades people
to look at life through a harder and beneficial way. The Grand Canyon, an immense monument of
pure beauty, the distinct feature of an American desert, the timeline of the Earth s history, and the
Pormosa for GarcГa LГіpez de CГЎrdenas. Percy spoke of a Bostonian man that travelled to the
canyon, but was never truly there. He didn t have the same experience of the Spaniard centuries
ago, (Percy 462 463). The Grand Canyon may have changed in form from the erosion and
corrosion, yet he didn t take the same actions of CГЎrdenas. The man knew about the canyon
before even seeing it for the first time, due to previously seen postcards and pictures, he couldn t
have the full feeling of awe at the tremendous depth and vibrant colors in something that is just
more than a big, long rock. The author continued on by stating, At the

5. Why College Housing Is Great And Not So Great
As we know housing is very important to our universities around the world today and to our very
own Old Dominion University . Of course, it s important to us first year college students as well as
upperclassmen but not as much, because we feel that it s time to move out. But there are many
more reasons why collegehousing is great and not so great. Living in on campus housing has it s
perks but, here is the trick we are paying a fortune for it. And we share one room with two others
and spacing is not equivalent. Housing rates are extremely high because we are paying for the
things that we use. For example the water, lights, electricity, and custodial staff.
What we should do about it is make this known to the Office of Housing ... Show more content on

Of course they are already going to be in deep debt when it is all over. On the other hand,
lowering the rates would make a big difference when it comes to paying for housing.
The University would and could somewhat make more money in a way. They could benefit
because if the prices were more affordable more students would pay. Housing is apart tuition when
of all it is combined. Using the tuition calculator allows you to see an estimate of how much
attendance would be.(http://blue.odu.edu/admissions/calculator/) Include on campus housing and
watch it rise to even more. In fact there it shows that it is a big price gap with living on campus
and, that the prices should be lowered in some way.
Out of state students pay for coming into a different state to attend college as we know. It is not
at all cheap they actually pay double of what a in state student pays. They already are paying
double and of course out of all students they need housing. Because whichever state they came
from it is miles away and traveling would be ridiculous. They would need to benefit from the
prices of housing to be low as possible. The cost of their tuition would drop tremendously if the
prices was low. This is one major requirement to have housing as a out of state student. First and
foremost if the prices were affordable even more out of state students would attend Old Dominion
because, the price of tuition including

Four cecally cannulated horses were utilized in a 4 x 4 Latin square to evaluate dosage levels of
95% liposomal curcumin (LIPC) on the same opportunistic bacteria in experiment 1 and to
evaluate cecal characteristics. Horses were randomly assigned to one of four treatments: 1) no
LIPC, (CON); 2) 15 g of 500 mg/g of LIPC, recommended level (REC); 3) 25 g of 500 mg/g of
LIPC (1.66 x R); or 4) 35 g of 500 mg/g of LIPC (2.30 x R). Horses were fed 2 3 lbs of StrategyВ®
(Purina Mills, St. Louis, MO) to maintain a BCS of a 5 6 at 0600 and treatments were top dressed

The recommended dose, REC treatment, significantly decreased (P 0.0001) SBEC
concentrations compared to increasing doses. E. coli K 12 concentrations were decreased (P =
0.01) with REC and 1.33xR treatments compared to 1.66xR and 2xR treatments (Table 3).
Concentrations of E. coli general were significantly less (P = 0.032) in REC, 1.33xR and 2xR
compared to the 1.66xR treatment. Numerically, 2xR had the lowest concentration of C. difficile,
and 1.66xR had the lowest concentration of C. perfringens out of the four treatments. Previous
work with human subjects showed E. coli and substrain K 12 possess curcumin converting
activity, which is responsible for curcumin transformation and slowing down the degradation and
metabolic process of curcumin (Hassaninasab et al., 2011). Thus, increasing the dosage of 95%
liposomal curcumin may have increased the growth activity of E. coli general and K 12 due to
curcumin being broken down in the cecum. This can have a direct effect on these strains
(Hassaninasab et al., 2011). In addition, this may be the reason for concentration responses. Based
on the results from the two batch cultures, the authors decided to investigate 15 g, 25 g, and 35 g
of 500 mg/g of 95% liposomal curcumin for the in vivo

7. An Invasive Point Of View

An Invasive Point of View
Day to day, we are faced with perpetual decisions based on practical criteria. They have become
so engrained within our regular schedule that we may not even think about the consequences. The
automatic movements that we go through each day usually don t require a major ethical
decision. However, when they do, values, world views and personal interest are all considered.
The decision making process is very often initiated with a world view, or with some sort of bias.
The outcome is based on one s understanding of the facts, or even based on one s upbringing.
Environmental ethics often come into play when considering invasive species. On a global scale, we
live in a high array of technological advances in transportation. We are able to travel across vast
distances that open pathways for ourselves and exotic plant hitch hikers. The more we travel, the
more species we transport. The issue arises of whether or not this is a natural process in which
nature should be able to take its course. When considering this, multiple perspectives are formed in
the process. Some intend to take advantage of this resource, while others aim to eradicate the entire
non native population. While many people understand that an invasive species has the potential of
being harmful, they still intend to let nature run its course. Therefore, it is important to understand
all perspectives that factor into the decision making process

The construction sector drives a country s economy. In Australia, the construction industry is a
major role of economic growth and is the fourth largest contributor to Australia s gross domestic

consumption and manufacturing activity to triple with the population growth increase by over
50% (Akadiri, Chinyio and Olomolaiye 2012). With construction industry affecting the economy,
ultimately, it also affects the social, cultural and environmental aspects of the country.

9. Federal Government Budget Essay
Federal government spending is increasing, deficits are lingering, and the amount of accumulated
debt is reaching dangerously high levels. Growing spending and debt are undermining economic
growth and may push the nation into a severe financial crisis in coming years (Edwards, 2016).
How can we keep our balance and spending under control? Federal spending is becoming more and
more of a problem, and Bill Clintondid not balance our budget. He did provide solutions to balance
our budget but allegations state he was only a bystander in the timely process.

But it s not just up to the President which is why it s so hard to come to an agreement. During the
Clinton era, Clinton proposed to increase Federal spending by 4 percent, to $1.73 trillion, to hire
100,000 new teachers, provide adequate child care, boost scientific research and offer monitored tax
incentives. Effects of a large tax increase that Clinton pushed for in his first year are made
prominent. For the most part, it fell entirely on upper income taxpayers and the wealthy people
in our society. Clintons 1994 budget also contained some spending restraints. The cuts allowed
the economy to boom and there were bigger gains in the stock market business that made people
happy (Bennett,1998). The new budget brought in hundreds of millions in unexpected tax
revenue from taxes on capital gains and rapidly rising salaries (Jackson,2008). Although this was
a good plan, it unfortunately did not get approved. The budget was balanced but some say not
by Clinton. He was merely just a bystander and gave his opinion as the time passed. Even though
the budget was balanced while he was in office, but the record shows that was about the extent of
his contribution (Moore, 1998). Clinton may have tried to contribute but he should not be given

10. The Opposite Sex Is A Necessity
The opposite sex is a necessity in our lives. If we did not need them, none of us would be here
right now, literally. By nature, we need someone else in our lives, be it a male or female, and be it
friends, significant others, and family of the opposite sex. We need each other for company,
support, and contentment.
Men and women, on their own, are very strong individuals. They can be happy and have a
fulfilling life individually AT times, but not all the time. Single people go to clubs, they hook up
and have one night stands with their opposite sex. What does this behavior show? It shows that
women have a need for men, and men have a need for women. It shows they need each other s
company, even if it is for a couple of hours. Everyone needs company; loneliness is a very sad
state to be in. Think about being lonely, and automatically your face expression turns neutral or
maybe it turns sad, it does not bring happiness or fulfillment. Yes, sometimes one needs some alone
time, but to making it a routine that calls for misery. Even people that are part of the LBGT
community need the opposite sex, maybe not as a partner but as friends and family. When these
people confess their attraction to the same sex, they wish for their friends and family, male and
female, to accept them. Living a happy and fulfilling life with the opposite sex does not necessarily
mean being with a boyfriend or girlfriend in the sense of being in an intimate relationship. It means

12. Basement Flooding
Basements are an essential part of homes in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They get turned into
recreational rooms for the grandchildren, small apartments for graduate students, and even storage
spaces. So when one of them floods, it is a very discouraging and expensive mess that no one
looks forward to. Because of this, it helps to know a few things about basement flooding that can
help prevent some of the damage from occurring.
The Correlation Between the Seasons and Flooding
Basements can flood no matter what the weather is outside. But the spring is the most common
time of the year for this catastrophe to occur. Michigan gets a huge amount of snowfall and ice each
winter, which won t do damage until the warmer weather hits. The increase in the temperature ...

However, even new bricks, mortar, and cement can all begin to crumble if they are exposed to
too much moisture for too long. So the next common cause of basement flooding is poor
drainage. Water has to be diverted away, so the house will stay dry. And the last cause of basement
flooding has to do with the plumbing. If water or sewer lines happen to break, they can make a
huge mess.
Preventing Flooding
Ann Arbor, Michigan residents have unique challenges when it comes to home maintenance. The
spring is the most common time of the year for flooding to occur, but there is little that can be
done to fix this problem in the winter season that happens beforehand. It is just too cold and wet
outside to do any repairs. So this means that work done to prevent floods usually has to happen in
the summer or early fall seasons. Some of the preventative repairs that can be done during this time
include:
Digging french drains to trap water away from the home
Inspecting the outside of the home for signs of cracks or loose bricks where water could get
through and repairing any that are

13. The Dark Knight And Inception
There are many successful directors who have produced at least one blockbuster film that is
critically acclaimed, and Christopher Nolan has been able to do this several times. Christopher
Nolan began directing movies in 1998 and has directed fourteen movies since 1998. The film critic
Alissa Wilkinson notes in her article The films of Christopher Nolan, explained, Nolan has shown
himself to be interested in both entertaining audiences and making them think, in pushing the
boundaries of what they believe a movie can and should be . Christopher Nolan also often deals
with the subjects of time, memory, and life philosophies that drive movies and characters. Two of
Nolan s most prominent films through his whole career have been the Dark Knight(2008) and
Inception(2010). Both of the films show how Nolan s movies end ambiguously and how each
protagonists in his films has an antagonist with opposite philosophies and beliefs.
Inception is a film that contains a protagonist and antagonists with opposing philosophical views
and beliefs. The movie includes examples of the belief that the world is real conflicting with the
belief that the world is a dream with death as the only way out. For instance in one part of the
movie Dom is argueing with Mal that they are in the real world as they both stand on the
window ledge of opposing buildings. Mal begs Dom to come with her as she says this world is a
dream and that the only way to wake up is by jumping.Dom tries to tell her that they are

lines are the apparent in the two diagonals as well as opposing directional lines of the train and
the boat. The smoke shows direction of the wind and that the boat is moving that way as well.

Montresor tries to convince the reader that his intentions are honorable in an effort to maintain his

One other thing society canГt do is simply hand out money or food stamps to the families of these

There is another reason Jesus has gone to Gethsemane in the middle of the night to pray with
only a few disciples because Jesus already realises that he has to die and if the temple guards
tried to arrest him in broad daylight then they wouldn t be taken to very kindly by Jesus
supporters and they would protest and wouldn t allow this to happen. So both Jesus and he s
enemies realise this, that is why his enemies are not forcing the situation and biding their time but
as Jesus has to carry out God s will he decides to give them the opportunity so he may be seized and
arrested successfully.
A while later Judas who used to be a disciple of Jesus but betrayed him for thirty silver pieces

Television in the 1960s brought Americans closer through the stories and tragedies they
experienced. As televisions became more mainstream and affordable, more people invested in
them. The time was right for the industry to flourish. Between 1959 and 1970, the percentage of
households in the U.S. with at least one TV went from 88% to 96% (Ganzel). More people buying
TVs meant that the industry grew and the technology could improve. As satellite technology
developed, it became inevitable for satellite televisionto develop. The biggest leap of 1960s
television technology wise, was satellite usage (Thompson). With TV signals that could reach far,

News programs in the 60s were a major selling point in buying a television. Part of television s
success is due to the news being so relevant and reliable. In the 50s and 60s, news on the

fandoms and communities for its popular shows, such as Star Trek. When many people have
similar interests or like the same thing, they usually get along. When Star Trek first aired, it wasn

cultures of the American and the British are different.
Cadbury is a leader in the UK confectionery market. the interaction between American managers and
British managers and workers after purchasing Cadbury by the American owned Kraft is an
example how two different cultures may clash with each other. As highlighted by Tarique, Briscoe,

33. Sigmund Freud s and Carl Rogers Differing Concepts of...
This essay is to describe Sigmund Freud s and Carl Rogers differing concepts of human psychology
concerning determinism. Freud is known to be a determinist. This means that he believes that
humans don t have free will, that there are forces beyond the individuals control which control their
actions and underlying reasons behind behaviours. (http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/determinism
causal/). Rogers is known as a non determinist. This is the belief that humans have free will, that
they control their own behaviours, desires and are not bound by laws (http:/
/www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/free will?q=free+will). However a new idea
which mostly stems from the cognitive approach has been created called Soft Determinism. This
is the idea that people have a degree of free will. That our behaviours and desires are mostly
determined however we can choose specific ways to act in particular situations.
Freud created the Psychodynamic Approach to explain behaviour. Within it, he describes that there
are 3 components of the human mind: The conscious, Pre conscious and Unconscious. The
conscious is the part of the mind which is in our awareness; it contains behaviours and desires
which we are aware of. The pre conscious is the part of the mind between the conscious and
unconscious, it contains items such as memories and desires which we are not currently thinking
about but can easily bring to conscious awareness. Lastly is the unconscious. This part of the mind is

34. What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Biometrics
There are many biometric techniques in existence today. Face recognition technology is one of
them which make use of computer software to determine the identity of the person. Today
conservative methods of identification like possession of certain type of identity cards, use of
passwords etc. are not at all reliable for identity purposes where security is a critical factor. There
is no surety in the fact that person using ATM card to withdraw money from any ATM machine
is actual owner of the card. When credit and ATM cards are lost or stolen, it is not a big game
for the unauthorized user to make an accurate guess of the correct personal codes. It is a
common practice between we people that despite of strict warning we continue to choose easily
guessed PIN s and passwords. Often we prefer our birthdays, cell numbers, house numbers and
vehicle numbers. Identity cards can be lost, fake or misplaced and passwords can be forgotten or
compromised. But a face is unquestionably connected to its owner. Face does not suffer the
limitations of been borrowed, stolen or easily copied. Face recognition technology is the fastest and

35. Edna St. Vincent Millay And William Shakespeare s Sonnet...
Edna St. Vincent Millay and William Shakespeare both deal with the concept of time in Sonnet
and Sonnet 30 . Millay s sonnet focuses on how time affects a person through aging while
Shakespeare s sonnet focuses on the idea that the duration of time can be beneficial in providing
comfort to overcome one s grief. Although written in two different time periods the two writers
have similar writing styles, such as the use of word choice, poetic techniques, and literary devices to
further portray the theme and effect of time. In Sonnetthe opening line, That built the child and
hardened the soft bone (2), demonstrates the beginning of life and the beginning of one s life
journey, indicating the sonnet will discuss the course of the speaker s life. In Shakespeare s
Sonnet 30 the speaker remembers former times in his life, specifically the things past (2). He, the
speaker of the sonnet, is attempting to bring up moments that happened in his prior life when his
friend played a great role in it. Within the first two lines of Sonnet and Sonnet 30, the difference of
the interpretation of time is visible. Shakespeare s Sonnet 30 focuses on the positive outcome, the
feeling of comfort, from a situation in the past while Millay s sonnet focuses on the negative
outcome, aging, from a situation in the future. Sonnet by Edna St. Vincent Millayuses imagery to
describe the aging of a once young and healthy individual. She, the speaker, is aging needing the
assistance and aid of the cane...and the special chair (12). Her physical appearance and physical
needs demonstrate how time is playing a negative roll on her externally. Sonnet 30 uses imagery
to showcase the positive effect time has on one internally. When the speaker says, I summon up
remembrance of things past (2) it can be inferred that the speaker s friend is currently far from
the speaker, whether it be in an afterlife world, or simply in a different city. Sonnet 30 portrays
time as helpful and kind because when the speaker thinks of his friend from the past, All losses are
restored and sorrows end. (12) Millay and Shakespeare also make use of personification to further
develop the theme each sonnet portrays. Sonnet 30 personifies

38. Ancient Egyptian Civilization
The ancient Egyptian civilization is arguably the oldest civilization in the world. It is believed to
have emerged around 5,500 years ago, although some scholars have estimated an even earlier date.
During the predynastic period the Egyptians were not united, but as the Sahara desert expanded
many people began moving their settlements around the Nile River. These settlements started
coming together to form towns. As these towns progressed they developed many new ideas to help
the society run smoother. However the total unification and start of the ancient Egyptian
civilization did not happen, until Hierakonpolis expanded and conquered Naqada. The ancient
Egyptian civilization was now created. Since this civilization was one of the first in the world,
there was no structure to start with. In order to function as a thriving civilization, the Egyptians
had to accomplish agricultural, architectural, medical, and educational advancements. The ancient
Egyptian s advancements in agriculture is one of the driving forces that lead to the success of
their empire. The Egyptian civilization came together because of the need for fertile soil and a
constant supply of water. Although the Nile was a constant supply of water, the Egyptians still
needed to find a way to bring the water to their crops. Murray shows the reason why irrigation was
needed, In Egypt, 6000 years ago, when the latest rainy interlude began to wane, neolithic tribesmen
from both sides flocked into the Nile Valley

Composers deliberately manipulate conflicting perspectives in order to achieve their purpose.
This may be a unanimous truth amongst composers whether it is to attract sympathy, inform the
responder, or to make a comment on the functioning and morality of society. In order to achieve
their purpose, composers deliberately manipulate responder s conflicting perspectives so that
they will have the same perspective as them. Ted Hughes utilises the subjective nature of the
textual form of poetry so as to evoke a certain response to sympathise with him and relieve
himself of any guilt in his collection of poetry, Birthday Letters . The Sea Inside , a 2000 Spanish

Alejandro Amenabar uses film techniques and characterisation in order to subtly manipulate the
audience s response which is one is one of sympathy. His purpose in making the film was more
than to merely place his own perspectives to the audience but instead to inform the responder and
lead them to make their own decisions based on the knowledge gained through the film. Based on a
true story, the main character Ramon became a paraplegic during a diving accident and after
twenty five years of being bed ridden, he wishes to end his life through euthanasia. This character
attracts the most sympathy in the film as he is the main protagonist of the film, intentionally done
so by Amenabar in order to persuade the responder to side with him. Due to the very controversial
nature of the issue, he attempts to maintain indifferent in his approach to informing the responder
about the severity of euthanasia, reflecting society s stance on the matter. His use of high panning
angles to mimic flying during one of Ramon s dream sequences shows vast landscapes expressing
his innermost desires which

Disease has become the most common threat to mankind in the past 20 years, with scientists
believing that with the world becoming more familiar with both unnatural and natural disasters
that disease will only rise. (Jasparro.C, Johnson Freese.J, 2014) (WHO, 2014). It can be
categorized into two main species; bacterial infections and viral fevers. The two genera pose as
the largest risks to humanity due to both having the ability to be contracted through various types
of transmission and cannot be treated without serious and specified medical aid. (Messenger, Ali.
M, Barnes, Amber. N, Gray, Gregory C, 2014). This review will discuss a number of studies
specifically in the genetic composition of both diseases and how each attacks the body, the
approaches involved in what makes Ebolanot only diverse from bacterial infections, though other
types of diseases in general, and will briefly discuss what the similarities between bacterial

49. Kindness Essay
If you asked people what they thought kindness was, what would they say? Would they give a
generic answer? Would they say they didn t know? Many would say that is being nice to others.
But is that REALLY what kindness is? Is kindness for people to show appreciation for others? Is
it a way to show that you love someone? Not recently. Recently it has become a mask, a way to
gain attention, and a way to make people think you arebetter than them.
Kindness is a mask people use to hide their true identity. People use kindness as an excuse to draw
attention to themselves. It is used as a way for people to say, Hey, look at me! I did something
nice! Quite often, celebrities and politicians post thing on social media, doing this exact thing. ...

Then, your mom shows up. Immediately that friend cleans up their act and starts sucking up to
you. They no longer think you are horrible at everything, they think you are a great contribution
to their life, and they are very appreciative of you. Many people deny that they do this, and that
they are a great people. They act very kind and nice, but truly are just hiding what is truly
happening. Kindness is truly, just a mask, a cover for what we don t want others to see.
Kindness is also a way to get attention. It used as a way to get people to look at you and notice
you. Many use do this everyday. They seek attention, and therefore do something nice. They boast
about it, and get the attention they deserve. This is something that we see everywhere, all of the
time. It is on social media, the news, and in everyday life. They boast about their kindness,
because You better toot your own horn. No one else will (Mr. Rose). Many use this as an excuse to
make an act of kindness. They see an opportunity to get attention and dive right in. They use
kindness as the way to get attention. They use it to get attention and a reputation of perfection. An
immense amount of people boast and brag about how they did something good, and everyone
knows. They tell everyone and hope to get people telling them they are so cool, and that they are

52. The Social Context Of The Goddess Athena And The Athenians
Three key features of the Parthenon that reflected the social context of the goddess Athena and the
Athenians are the Pediments, the Internal Frieze and the Athena Parthenos. The Parthenon,
meaning of the virgin referring to the goddess Athena, was built in 447 BC and opened to the
public in 432 BC. It is located in the south side of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece and was built to
house the cult statue of Athena.
There are two pediments on the Parthenon; one on the East side over the Naos (interior room), the
other on the West side over the Opisthodomos (back porch). The East pediment shows the birth of
Athena. Zeus had eaten Metis, who was pregnant with Athena at the time. She gave birth in Zeus
stomach and Athena climbed into his head. It hurt so much that Zeus ordered Hephaestus to cut
open his head with an axe. Athena then leaped from the wound in full battle armour. On this
pediment, Zeus and Athena are portrayed as being the same size, which is unusual as men were
seen as superior to women so were portrayed as larger. This is significant because it shows how
highly the Athenians thought of their patron goddess; enough to be the equal of the king of the
gods. The Athenians chose this myth to be shown on the pediment because it represents how highly
Athena is thought of and it is also the story of her birth, which without there would be no Athens.
This reflects the social context of the Parthenon because...
The West pediment shows the contest for Athens between

53. Analysis Of Contractarianism And Animal Rights Essay
Mark Rowlands in his article Contractarianism and Animal Rights focuses on John Rawl s social
contract argument. Rowlands writes that Rawls liberal egalitarian version of contractarianism is
more than capable of assigning a direct moral status to non human animals. This essay will set out
Rowlands views with reference to philosophers and academics writing about the rights of non
human animals. Contractarianism is generally thought a theory that alleges only individuals who
can understand and choose to take part in an agreement or social contractcan have moral rights
(Rowlands, 1997). As Tom Regan points out animals, since they cannot understand contracts,
obviously cannot sign; and since they cannot sign, they have no rights (Regan, 2009, p.843).
In, what Rowlands calls, the conceptual heart of Rawls contractarianism, is his idea of an original
position and a veil of ignorance . Rawls describes the original position as the appropriate initial
status quo which ensures that the fundamental agreements reached in it are fair (Rawls, 1973, p.17)
A person finds themselves in the original position under a veil of ignorance deprived of certain
facts about themselves, for example, their conception of good and their socio economic position in
society. All occupants of the original position are conceived of as rational . Rowlands doesn t insist
that all non human animals are classified as rational agents, but rather that there is nothing in
Rawls contractarianism that

54. A Critical Evaluation Of Rice Processing Machines Essay
The design that was chosen for this project was one of a few that were considered. However,
after a process of analysis and evaluation, the design chosen was deemed the best to achieve the
best possible results in the process of processing wild rice.
Description of Metrics
Metrics are the measures otherwise termed as parameters of assessment of qualities that are
quantitative. They are used to measure, compare and track performance as well as levels of
production. Metrics are used to make comparisons regardless of the variations in the subject
matters, in this case which are machines. In order to establish metrics used in this project a critical
evaluation of rice processing machines was done considering the output given as well as the set
goals. In other words metrics can be defined simply as tools used to evaluate performance or Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) [24].
The metrics applied in the selection of this design include:
Quality
Quality is defined as the standard of something (machine) compared to others of the same category
(rice processing machines). With regard to manufacturing, quality is idealistically interpreted as the
non inferior or superior nature in comparison to others. It is a measure that determines how fit a
machine is for its set purpose. It is a measure that can be described as conditional or otherwise
subjective to which every individual has their own definition. Consumers are more concerned with
the quality specified whereas manufacturers are

55. A Tribe Apart Essay
A Tribe Apart
To believe that no one in this world understands what you are going through on any given day. To
feel that you are the only person out of the almost seven billion people that populate this universe
who can experience the feelings of desire, hurt, pain, happiness, sadness, confusion, emptiness and
joy. Sometimes all at the same time can these feelings be amongst you. This is how, in my own
words that I would define the meaning of Personal Fable.
To be the center of attention when there is good and bad happening and the feeling you have
thereafter depends on what you think that others think of you. They are always watching you as
you imagine. They are the judge of your every move. You have to be cool, act cool, look... Show

that he is better than them if he is tried. Once he beat up another student just to prove that he is
capable of protecting and defending himself as well as established some credibility within himself

56. Isis And Many Terrorist Groups
Blake Bonin
Mrs. Landgrebe
Advanced Comp. 3rd Hour
12/18/15
Research Paper ISIS and many terrorist groups have been recently attacking at will throughout the
entire world. The terrorist group of ISIS is the biggest and most widely known terrorist group
recently. One of the biggest controversial arguments today is if the United States should go to war
with terrorist groups such as ISIS and others. I believe that the best solution to this argument is
to not go to war with terrorist groups or ISIS just yet. Within the past couple of years, the
terrorist group of ISIS has made them well known and kept the world into a state of fear and
terror when it comes to terrorist attacks. One of the biggest controversial arguments currently
has to do with the United States going to war with the terrorist group of ISIS. I believe that the
United States shouldn t go to war with ISIS, or just not yet. I believe that if they decide to fight a
ground war with ISIS or these certain terrorist groups, they will be blindly moving into their
territory. The last time that the United States decided to rush into a blind fight, not knowing what
was coming, they got taken down in the war in Vietnam. If the United States dies decide to fight
in these ground wars against the terrorist groups they will not know what is coming and will have
to blindly fight at risk of losing a lot of soldiers in the end of the war. Another reason that the
United States should not go to war with ISIS in general is
