Booth s Assassination Of Abraham Lincoln
A man named John Wilkes Booth killed President Abraham Lincoln. Booth was born in Maryland in
1838. He lived in the North during the Civil War, even though he believed the South should win.
Booth believed that President Lincoln was responsible for the Civil War. Originally, Booth wanted to
kidnap President Lincoln and take him to Richmond, Virginia, the Confederate capitol. However,
Lincoln never traveled through the place where Booth and his conspirators were waiting to kidnap
him. Booth was a well known actor in Washington, D.C. He worked at many theatres, and performed
in many plays. At work, Booth found out that President Lincoln would be attending a performance of
Our American Cousin at Ford s Theatre on April 14, 1865. When

Ethical Surrogates
Surrogacy occurs when another women carries a child for a couple, who for a particular reason are not
able to carry a biological child themselves (Kerridge, Lowe, Stewart, 2013, p. 493 494). The child
may be genetically linked to the surrogate or gustatory where there is no genetic link to the child
(Kerridge et al, 2013, p. 493 494). Infertile couples should be allowed to use surrogates in order to
have a child, although the laws and regulations need to be closely monitored and potential surrogates
need to be aware of the moral and ethical problems they may encounter throughout the process.
Surrogacy can be a magical and beautiful gift, yet there are many problems, which arise that, often
surrogates and potential parents do not consider. Bonnie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
427). Surrogacy is often compared to child selling, although human life is not measurable in a
monetary figure (Steinbock, 1988, p. 427). The baby m case provides a greater insight into these 2
objections, which Steinbock further discusses. In the baby m case the surrogate was paid to be
impregnated and carry the child, this is where laws and regulations need to be strongly monitored, as
the contract never stated turnover of the child meaning the surrogate fulfilled her contractual
agreement if she did not provide the child to the parents (Steinbock, 1988, p. 427). The courts found
that the payment made to the surrogate to turn the child over was prohibited (Steinbock, 1988, p. 427).
The baby m case was a complicated and a good example of a surrogacy agreement, which went
wrong. This case shows that governments need to enforce stricter laws and regulations regarding
surrogacy to ensure there is no confusion and no child selling. Steinbock (1988) suggests that rather
than be paid for giving up the child that surrogates instead are paid for anything involving the
pregnancy such as medical expenses which will then allow the process to been seen a another form of
adoption as the child is not being purchased (p. 428). There are not many women who would endure
pregnancy with the ultimate outcome to be providing a family with

How Did Billy Joel s Song We Didn T Start The Fire
American composer and pianist Billy Joel wrote the song We Didn t Start the Fire regarding the
important events that occurred in the twentieth century. Joel was born in 1949 after World War II. Joel
said that the meaning behind We Didn t Start the Fire was to inform his audience that all the events
that he spoke about in this song were not his generation s fault, but the fault of their predecessors. The
song became a best seller and a great success and in 1989 it was nominated for a Grammy Award. One
of the most famous lyrics in the song is JFK, blown away, what else do I have to say . This event
alluded to the events that occurred at the time of the assassination of the 35th President of the United
States, President John F. Kennedy (Bishop 175). The tragic news spread around the United States and
the whole country was in shock. Up until that time, the American people received their news through
newspaper and radio. The way President John F. Kennedy s assassination influenced life in the ...

The Philosopher s Stone And The Elixir Of Life
The work I chose for my Independent Reading was the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I desired
to read this book for quite some time but was adamant about reading it, purely because I did not want
to engage in such a well known classic. Throughout my time hearing about Frankenstein, I have
become brainwashed into believing that the Monster Frankenstein had created was nothing more than
a mere brainless creatures bent on destruction. I approached this novel with that mindset. Just a little
while ago, while researching the Philosopher s Stone and the Elixir of Life for methods to bring these
two ideas into reality (the latter more than the former), I came across a brief mention of this novel,
Frankenstein. In the brief mention I had read, it indicated that these two ideas were stated in ... Show

I immediately sought the book out. Once I began the book I realized that it was unputdownable, so
much so that I immersed myself for countless hours through the night and well into the next morning
reading this novel from cover to cover. Once I did put the book down I was drenched in a moment of
anger and admiration, both steaming from the overall plot and characters of the novel and the
figurative concept that protruded between the lines.
Primary, classifying this novel in one of Christopher Booker s The Seven Basic Plots was undoubtedly
a challenge. The challenge began when I realized how the story was told. It was not merely an
intellectual summary of events told as a story by Victor Frankenstein. It was a story, recorded by a
sailor named Robert Walton, and told via letters to his beloved sister Margaret

Roles Of Globalization
Role of Globalization The effects of globalization in society can be seen every day, but because we are
so used to them we sometimes forget that they are happening. Changes in globalization can be very
small or very big usually depending on where you live in the world. But no matter how small or how
large these changes are affecting the way our world works and grows every day. Globalization affects
our daily lives in almost an infinite amount of ways, but mainly in three main areas. The areas with the
most effect on globalization are political practices, economical aspects, and socio cultural traits all of
which add up to give countries international status based specifically on how we function as an ever
growing human race. The definition of Globalization from our text book Essentials of Sociology: A
Down To Earth Approach written by James Henslin is, the breaking down of national boundaries
because of advances in communications, trade, and travel, but globalization is much broader than just
those three things, and can be interpreted in many ways (Henslin 34). Globalization is best seen from a
functionalist sociological point of view, because globalization itself plays a certain role in how the
world works. By allowing the transfer of knowledge and traits, globalization plays its part in society
by diversifying the world.
In regards to our daily social lives, the first major effect globalization has is what stands above and
controls all the others. This is the

What Is The Role Of The Single Market In The UK
The UK has a well established financial service claiming the largest stock of inflow foreign investors
of 45% and constitute of 8% GDP and 12% of tax receipts observed by (Tyler, 2015). The single
market as stated before plays a big role for the UK in the EU as it allows banks in the EU to expand or
provide a cross border financial services in another, while being coordinated by the local authorities at
the native country. With the UK, having members from different EU states will have to conduct single
passport activities, which is important for the UK in the aspects of exports. Nevertheless, pass porting
in other words means that a UK bank will be able to provide services across the EU from the UK. This
can also be the case for a Swiss or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In another situation that could be looked at, it is not an automatic yes for the European Economic Area
to take the UK in, they might also not be as lucky like the other non EU countries that have been
granted bilateral terms a good example will again be Switzerland. From the situation of brexit, the UK
considered less attractive to overseas investors. As a result, this in turn means city like Paris and
Frankfurt will take advantage in the situation and try to claim as much share of the advantageous
markets to better their financial services. The question that is in the air is will brexit deplete the UK
financial services sector because of all the harsh and sever EU regulations. For his situation is very
unlikely because the domestic home based organisations will still need to accept these regulations for
all other EU transactions. However, with brexit getting more certain and sable for the UK financial
market another question will be to know if the EU regulations for the UK would be a big burden for
their transactions outside the EU as financial regulations are still developing. It can be difficult to put a
monetary value on the impact of the regulations of brexit. It will be very likely that not all these
regulations would put the home based organisations in UK at a competitive disadvantage, as the EU is
the world s largest financial service exporter, besides, making a great amount of the world s financial

India s large urban population has left our systems of public transport is extremely overwhelmed,
demands far exceeding the limited supply of transport infrastructure and services, absconding most
buses and trains services as overcrowded, undependable and dangerous. Our cities desperately need

living in poverty, India has been forced to keep its public transport fares extremely low. Making it
difficult to afford even routine maintenance and vehicle replacement, let alone system modernization

Farnsworth House Vs Johnson s House
Despite similarities and that one project caused an inspiration from another, there are differences. The
mail idea of both projects is integration with a nature, but still there are different concepts. The Glass
house is more like earthbound box as the time that Farnsworth house is a composition of floating
planes. The main characteristic element is a cylindrical brick hearth cum bathroom Johnson s house
sits directly on land at the time that Mies s house raised above. The Farnsworth House is a floating
glass rectangle, narrower than Johnson s, raised on metal columns and sandwiched between two
horizontal planes of white painted steel. Johnson s house rests on the ground, on the shelf of a hill, and
its steel frame is painted black. The Farnsworth House is a sculptural object in a landscape; Johnson s
is part of the landscape. One definite difference that can be easily seen in frame color, the facade of
this house has black steel lines and the beams, roof and floor of Farnsworth hоuse are painted white. ...

Differences Between Tertullian And Justin Martyr
Yves Gerard
17FA BIBL 111 Intro to Christian Hist/Thght (14)
Drawing on other parts of their writings, what are Tertullian and Justin Martyr saying about faith,
reason, and philosophy in these passages? Are their positions in conflict? What are the implications of
each perspective?
Many believe that the writings of early Church Fathers were lectured to different sects. In fact, one
may assume that there are Similarities and differences between Tertullian and Justin Martyr.
Particularly, let s compare Tertullian s and Justin Martyr perspective of faith, reason, and philosophy!
Justin Martyr is Known as the defender of the faith (Tony lane), (p.10) He looked for truth in Greek
philosophy. Likewise, his apology is in defense of the Christian faith and belief of Christianity. Of the
writings that subsist, his First Apology (c. 155 c.e.; English translation, 1861) contains a resilient
appeal for justice lectured to Antoninus. In that work, he clarifies Christian morals to influence his
reader of Christian faithfulness and honesty. However, also central to this writing is his claim that
Hebrew prophecy and Greek philosophy, both informed by the divine Logos (the Word), pointed to the
coming of Christ. Through such dispute, he facilitated to institute the early Christian theme which
faith is greater than Greek philosophy and is the result of Judaic belief. In Justin s awareness, merely
those who were controlled by fears failed to recognize these facts. His Second Apology (c.

Love Not Legalism By Madeleine L Engle
Love Not Legalism
Madeleine L Engle was a fierce thought provoking writer. She challenged me as both a believer and a
writer. Her scatterbrained writing style was relatable to me and so were the things she talked about.
She would have been a wonderful wise woman to grab a meal with. She did not shy away from
controversial topics; but instead, she introduced them. In Walking on Water L Engle sought to share
the freedom available to us if we allow Jesus Christ to break us free from our chains.
One of the topics that L Engle humbly addressed was the topic of legalism. I greatly appreciated this
because I find that many world renowned leaders shy away from talking about it, when in reality it
may be one of the enemy s most disguised tools. When people see God as an unapproachable killjoy, it
becomes natural to grow distant from Him, and I know that before becoming a Christian this was the
biggest stumbling block for me and I know some of the most kindhearted people cannot grasp the fact
that God loves them and that He sent His one and only son to save them. L Engle also tackled the
major misconception that God does not know how to laugh. He created humor and is pretty humorous
himself. George MacDonald said, It is the Heart that is not yet sure of its God that is afraid to laugh in
His presence (131). I am learning that more and more every day. The common trait that my most
joyful friends share is confidence in God s love for them. A relationship with God has so

Essay about The Life and Literary Works of Shirley Jackson
Shirley Jackson was born on December 14, 1919 to Leslie and Geraldine Jackson. Her surroundings
were comfortable and friendly. Two years after Shirley was born, her family with her newborn brother
moved from San Francisco to Burlingame, California, about thirty miles away. According to her
mother, Shirley began to compose verse almost as soon as she could write it (Friedman, 18). As a
child, Shirley was interested in sports and literature. In 1930, a year before she attended Burlingame
High School, Shirley began writing poetry and short stories. Jackson enrolled in the liberal arts
program at the University of Rochester in 1934. But after periods of unhappiness and questioning the
loyalty of her friends, she withdrew from the university. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not until the year of her death in 1965 twenty five years later was the medal finally awarded to her in
absentia, since she was unable to attend the ceremony. (Friedman, 26)
In 1940, after their graduation Hyman and Jackson, who had a relationship, were married. While
living in Vermont, Jackson continued to write. One of her earliest times in Vermont later became
material for her first book about the family, Life Among the Savages. Between 1945 and 1947,
Jackson was occupied with her first novel, The Road Through the Wall. But it was in 1948 that her
greatest success was achieved. The publication of the short story, The Lottery , brought fame, as well
as letters from readers all over the country. But more often there were abusive letters from people who
did not understand her motives or what she was trying to do. A year later a book entitled, The Lottery ,
was published containing an assortment of short stories including The Lottery. The critics by that time,
had decided that Shirely Jackson was a writer of much talent and uniqueness. Even though Jackson
was raising four children while her husband went to work, she still found time to write. Sometimes
when a story idea would come to her, she would bolt off to her typewriter. Instead of fighting writing,
as other writers do; she found the opposite; that writing was relaxing.
In 1949, the Hymans moved to Westport, Connecticut. As usual she worked hard. Six of her stories

The Pseudoscience of the Modern World

theories, alchemic brilliance, and public ridicule and disgrace due to failure to create a legendary
substance known as the Philosophers stone. As a result, this stone has been one of the most pursued

pioneered the very first tools, process, and theories of modern chemistry (Alchemy). Current
generations of Americans were most likely introduced to the concept of Alchemy in American

His other theory states there are four Aristotelian Qualities: hot, dry, wet, and cold. Each classic
element was thought to be a different combination of two of these qualities (Aristotle).
Aristotle also gave a theory that was most likely responsible for the search for gold. The theory stated
that perfection in the natural world is achieved over time. Not a bad idea, even in modern culture.
Aristotle had much reason to believe in this. Natural transformations to perfection could easily be
observed throughout nature. Examples include seeds turning into plants or caterpillars turning into
butterflies. In both cases, a flower is the highest form of a seed. A butterfly is the highest form of a
caterpillar. The greeks believed that gold was the highest form of metals. They also reasoned that
metals grew in the earth. Similarly to a butterfly or seed, given enough time, all metals would
eventually grow into gold. When the idea of the Philosophers Stone was heavily introduced in the 8th
century, it was thought to speed up this growing (Alchemy and the Road).

The great Purges saw One third of the communist party killed throughout a period of terror, which
lasted from 1934 39, With Kirov being the final victim himself. On top of this many ordinary civilians
alongside Party members ere also exiled and imprisoned in gulags. Some Historians believe that the

were entwined. However the cause of the terror is the topic that holds more debate. Some historians

party this appeared to be traitorous against the fundamental ideals of socialism. This is emphasised by
McCauley as to a cause of why Stalin s Paranoia continued throughout his leadership, and his
personality therefore was responsible for the extent in regards to the terror. McCauley further
emphasises Stalin s intention of creating a climate of fear as a result of this growing paranoia. This is
evident in McCauley s emphasis on the idea that there was set targets in regards to the number of

Definition Of Sanctity Of Human Life
Definition:
Sanctity of human life refers to the fact that human life, due to the fact that humans are created in the
image of God and share His likeness, is valued over the lives of plants and animals. Unlike plants and
animals, God blessed us with the ability to experience and convey emotion. Humans also can be saved
by the blood of Jesus Christ or condemned to hell if they choose not to accept Christ. Man is the only
being created in the image of God, therefore having the aforementioned blessings of emotion and
salvation, making man so much more important. When people ignore this fundamental and necessary
sanctity of life, terrible things like abortion and mass shootings occur.
History:
A biblical example of a violation of the sanctity of human life is in Genesis 4, the story of Cain and
Abel. Cain violated the sanctity of human life and killed his own brother simply because Abel s
sacrifice was accepted by God, but Cain s was not. Cain did not give his best to God in the offering,
but instead of dealing with his own shortcomings with God, he murdered his brother out of anger and
jealousy. By not fixing his own heart issue, he committed a vile sin that would forever shape his own
life and the life of his descendents. There are many modern examples of this disregard for the value of
life, such as: abortion, mass shootings, suicides, and suicide bombers. One major example is the recent
Los Vegas shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival where 59 people were killed and at

unusually large for the time or social standing of its owners, but it is obvious that the Vettii were
affluent Pompeian citizens and the house compares to the other large, lavish houses found in Pompeii.
(Mau, 1899: 315) Excavated in the late 19th century, the house is most notable for its remarkably well
preserved frescoes, beautiful garden and large triclinium. The rooms included in the house and the

Another smaller atrium can be accessed through a doorway on the right of the primary atrium. This
atrium contains the house s lararium, or a shrine to the family s Lares. This lararium depicts the
Genius of the household making a sacrifice and surrounded by two Lares. Underneath is a large snake,
a symbol of beneficence and prosperity. (Guzzo, 1998: 60) In all houses of a higher standing there was
an altar dedicated to the Lares and each family was placed under the protection of its own Lares.
Neighborhoods probably had Lares as well, which looked over all of the households. There were also
those which presided over the aggregate destiny, no longer of such and such a financier or merchant,
but of Pompeii as a whole; their temple was therefore situated at the hub of the city s activity, the
Forum, between the Macellum and the Temple of Vespasian, wrote Marcel Brion, explaining the rising
significance of the cult. (Brion, 1960: 88) The lararium in the atrium of the House of the Vettii is a

Non-Diegetic Techniques In The Film Sleeping
In the film Sleeping directed by Doug Conant a young woman by the name of Harriet is chosen to
babysit for The Winters. The director,Mr.Conant, uses Non diegetic sounds, Shot Reverse Shots and

Andrew Jackson Analysis
The letter that president Andrew Jackson wrote to congress Message To the People Of The United
States adopted a paternalist attitude towards the Indians. Jackson talks about how his plan is favorable
to white settlements, while being biased towards the Native Americans by stating that they are nothing
but Savage Hunters and how they should unconditionally agree with his plan because it will protect
the people of Georgia from the danger of the Native American. Therefore, he decides to pass The
Indian Removal Act . The Indian Removal Act was unfair because it took away the rights of the
Native Americans and forced the Indians to leave their land which caused many innocent live.
President Andrew Jackson did not like the Native Americans. He decided to write a letter to the
congress and persuade the government that removing the Indians from Georgia will benefit the white
settlers. When the congress read the letter from president Jackson the congress disagreed with his plan
saying that removing the Indians from their land is unconstitutional. However, presidents Jackson
being the leader of the military decides to ignore the congress and gives orders to the military army
and attack the Indians. This was the start of forcibly removing the Native Americans from their land.
In the early 1800s, the United States government began to make plans to remove Native American

The purpose of this experiment was to perform an esterification reaction with an unknown carboxylic
acid, resin, and 1 butanol. In this experiment, 114 mg of 1 butanol, 329 mg and 50.3 mg resin were
added to a conical vial. The vial was reflux for an hour on a hot plate and later cool to room
temperature. The product of this reaction is C_14 H_20 O_2, which was extracted by pipet into a

Once this structure was predicted, it will represent the R group of the ester. The oxygen side chain can
be predicted as a butane by understanding the mechanism behind esterification. Using the molecular
formula of the unknown carboxylic acid, the degree of unsaturation was calculated to be five. This
number indicates that there is potentially an aromatic ring, alkene, or alkyne. However, looking at the
chemical shifts in the NMR, the lack of peaks within 7 ppm + can ruled out the presence of an
aromatic ring. Moreover, the lack of chemical shift around 5.3 indicates the lack of double bonds. The
NMR shows 7 peaks, which were labeled as a,b,c,d,e,f, and g respectively from low ppm to high ppm.
Peak a and b appears to be similar to a methyl group with shifts between .9 1.4 ppm. Since peak b is
more down field, it is assumed to be closer to the carbonyl. Since a carbonyl ketone have a chemical
shift around 2.1, peak c, d, e are probably connected on one of the side chains. The other side chain on
the carbonyl group is the alcohol group, representing peak f. This is a reasonable assumption because

Cultural Dimensions, Business Practices And Business...
Abstract
This paper serves a purpose of examining the Hofstede s Cultural Dimensions and using such
measurement to compare the cultural values of Canada and the United States. It will look deeper into
the cultural dimensions, business practices and business etiquette. This paper will also provide
information of both countries and where they stand on the dimensions and the reason why. Hofstede
decided that when two people interact with each other within an organization, culture characterizes
their behavior and attitude towards others. Psychology Hofstede had published his cultural dimension
s model at the end of the 1970s. In more than fifty countries Hofstede studied the people that worked
for IBM. The dimensions collectively portray the impact of the culture in the society on the values of
the members of the society. The description of the relationship between the values and the behavior
based on the factor of analysis.

Review and Conceptual Framework in Journal of Economics, Finance Administrative Science, Geert
Hofstede is the most well known name in the field of cross cultural psychology and business (L.
Manrai A. Manrai, 2011). By looking at the dimensions of Canada and the United States, the
dimension scores of the two countries differed very much. Geert Hofstede s first four dimensions rose

Diets In The Middle Ages
The food in the Middle Ages (1000 1500) differed between upper class diets and lower class diets.
There was not a variety of food choices available for Middle Age people. The food they ate depended
on where they lived, what they lived by, and whether they were rich or poor. In some ways the middle
ages diet was the same but in other ways it was very different to our diets.
In the Middle Ages there were certain foods more commonly eaten than others. The staple foods for
everyone (upper class and lower class) included breads and root vegetables such as parsnips, carrots,
yams, and onions. Figure 1 shows bakers making bread which was one of the major foods of the
Middle ages. Almonds were a common nut used as thickeners in soups, stews, sauce and of course
were used in almond milk. For people living on the coast, the main foods consisted of fish caught
from the nearby sea. The average person who lived away from the coast did not regularly eat fish
unless it was a special occasion.
A person s location in the Middle Age dictated their food choices. If you lived near the coast most of
your foods would have come from the sea. The choices of fresh food, vegetables, and ... Show more

Introduction According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Americans aged 65 and older account for 13
percent of the total population. This group increased by two percent each year between 2001 and
2009. And estimates show that the number of older Americans will only increase, with the first wave
of Baby Boomers turning 65 in 2011. Over the next 15 years, America s population aged 65 and older
is projected to grow by another 60 percent. Currently, 16 percent of the nation s drivers are 65 or
older, up from 14 percent in 2000. Projections show that one in every five drivers will be 65 or older
by 2025. (AASHTO (2012)) Figure 1: Age Distribution and Median Age: 1960 to 2010 (Taken From

of the same age, the gap is narrowing as older women remain more mobile. These women have

Why did Harold Wilson win the 1964 Election
Thirteen years of conservative misrule How far does this explain Labour s election victory in 1964?
(50)
In 1951 Winston Churchill s Conservative party, won the general election, and this would be the start
of 13 years of Conservative rule spanning three prime ministers. This rule was ended in 1964 by
Harold Wilson s reunited Labour party. In this essay, I will look at the factors which led to the Labour
victory.
Whilst in power the Conservative government made many mistakes, a key example of a Conservative
mistake would be the 1957 Suez crisis in Egypt, when its leader (Nasser) wanted to nationalise the
Suez Canal, an important trade route from Northern Africa and Middle East for France and Great
Britain, which would force ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This in the end led to the failure of the government to develop policies that encouraged consistently
performing economies, resulting in Stagflation meaning the economy felt both the impacts of
industrial decline and inflation. This would have led to the people feeling worse off, and when it
comes to elections, its not foreign policy that wins, its whether the government has made them richer
or poorer than counts, and if it has made them poorer, it is unlikely that they will vote for that party
again. Macmillian s plan to improve the economy was to get Great Britain into the European
Economic Community, or EEC, which would later become the European Union. This would make it
easier to trade with Europe, increasing exports, something that was in deficit as at the time Britain had
a balance of payments issue, exporting much less than imported. This could have worked, but
Macmillian failed to get entry into the EEC because France s

A Study On Dream Recall

The descriptive statistics for the study were for dream recall (Minimum = 1, Maximum = 7, Mean=
4.89, (1.53)), which indicates an above average rate of dream recall however the standard deviation is
substantial. For extraversion the statistics were (Min =1.00, Max= 7.00, Mean=3.96, (1.49)). The
Stability results were (Min= 1.00, Max= 7.00, Mean= 3.84 (1.27)). Openness was recorded as (Min=
2.75, Max= 7.00, Mean= 5.43(1.06)) this shows that people have a high level of openness, which is
reinforced by the small standard deviation. Conscientiousness data was (Min= 1.25, Max= 7.00, Mean
=4.54(1.22)).
The correlation between variables was calculated into a paired sample t test. Dream recall and

the variance in peoples personality traits when examining dream recall.
The Beta in this sample is the amount of change in dream recall related with a one unit change in the
in the predictor variable which are the different personality traits. Beta (β) is standardized so that the
beta can be measured on the same scale. One standard deviation unit change in openness leads to a .28
standard unit increase in dream recall, controlling for other predictor factors.
The T test looked at the null hypothesis that personality traits are not statistically significant when
measuring peoples ability to recall their dreams. It was founded that from the sample Extraversion,
Stability and Conscientiousness were not significant as all predictors were above the significance level
of .05. Extraversion had had a moderate positive, non significant correlation. Stability had a negative
moderate non significant correlation and Conscientiousness had a very peak positive non significant
correlation. The strongest predictor for the outcome variables was openness. The result is not
surprising as hypothesized from previous literature if a person is open to the experience of dreaming
they are more likely to remember their dreams.

Pros And Cons Of Ecotourism
Abstract
Eco tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. It is a form of natural resources
based tourism focused on experiencing and learning about nature. The term ecotourism can be well
described with the following five criteria: nature conservation, low impact, sustainability, meaningful
community involvement, and environmental education. Environmental education must be fulfilled to
perform ecotourism and is the step towards the process of understanding the natural ecosystems.
Ecotourism has been growing rapidly over the last decades. Yet, while ecotourism has the potential to
create positive environmental and social impacts, it can unfortunately be as damaging as mass tourism
if not done properly.

EXISTING PROTOCOL
4.1 A hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV)
Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) [1] Routing could be a routing protocol for (MANETs)
and all other wireless ad hoc networks. it s collectively developed in Nokia centre, University of
California, USA and University of cincinnati by C. Perkins, E. Belding Royer and S. Das[16]. AODV
is capable of each unicast and multicast routing. it s a reactive routing protocol, that means that it
establishes a route to a destination solely on demand. In distinction, the foremost common routing
protocols of the internet are proactive, that means they notice routing route severally of the usage of
the route. AODV is, because the name indicates, a distance vector routing protocol. AODV avoids the
counting to infinity weakness of different distance vector protocols by use of sequence numbers on
route updates.
4.2 Working
In AODV, the network is quiet until a connection is required. At that spot the network source that
needs a transmission, broadcasts a request for connection. Other AODV intermediate nodes forward
this message, and trace the node that they heard it from, create an detonation of temporary routes back
to the source node. When a intermediate node receives such a message and already has a route to the
target node, it sends a message backwards through a temporary route to the source node. The deprived
node then begins using the route that has the least number of hops through other nodes. When a link

progress) in your single mom journey? Then this post will help you identify problem areas in your
life, or where you ve veered off course so you can begin to retrace your steps. The first step to taking
control of your life is to acknowledge that there is a problem.
I understand what it feels like to live a life you re desperate to get out of. I have been there too. I spent
three years in college as a single mom with no family around and limited finances. I have faced threats
of eviction and homelessness. I have been up to my eyeballs in debt, lacked emergency savings, and

Dentist Goals
Albert Einstein, a highly intelligent physicist once said if you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal.
Not things. I believe people should set goals in life because it lets you create the steps to fulfill your
goal. I am Zack Leffue and I am in the eighth grade and have set many goals that I created for my life
including becoming a dentist. Though I will go through the most extreme efforts to complete my goals
there are still obstacles that will stand in my way. Education is an important factor to succeed at my
goal of becoming a dentist. The goal of going to dental school along with four years of undergraduate
school at Northern Arizona University is a very ambitious goal. The reason why I have set such a
drastic goal of becoming

Invasion of the Body Snatchers Essay examples
In the 1956 film Invasion of the Body Snatchers , the birth of something horrifying takes place in
Santa Mira, California. Dr. Bennell and Becky are two long lost loves from their youth and are
reunited after years of no contact. Upon returning from a business trip Dr. Bennell notices odd
occurances that start unraveling before him. After a few instances of strange behavior among
Dr.Bennell s patients begin to take place he quickly becomes aware of an imminent epidemic
spreading through the town.
The parallels between the theme of the film and rising fears of communism and related topics of
concern during that time are captivating. Communism was an ideology originating in the Soviet Union

It wasn t until he began to see for himself the body casts of his friends and loved ones in
transformation that he began to believe it himself. At first the pod developed itself inside of a
greenhouse, it then proceed to create human figures that looked exactly as the people of the town.
Once the look alike has formed completely, the real human that the pod would take over must fall
asleep in order for their body and mind to be possessed. Once possessed, there is a drastic change in
movement, emotion, and speech. The pod is just a body that needs to survive and will do whatever it
takes in order to exitcute its main objective. The same went for the rising fear of Communism moving
in. It started like a seed blowing in the wind, as referred to beginning form of pods in Body Snatchers .
Those small seeds turned into larger pods and the hub of fear, the mother ship was represented by the
large seething plant producing carbon copies of the humans they intended on taking over. This was the
view of so many of what would happen if Americans did not hold tight and secure to their capitalist
roots.
Capitalism is the ideology of a market economy, where most production and forms of the economic
system were privately owned. There was an idea of liberty and freedom that went along with the
ideologies of capitalism which sent rushes of fear to the possibility of what the U.S. s understanding
was of the absolute

Tanqueray Research Paper
Gin is one of my favorite spirits as well as the number one ingredient chosen to create cocktails by
bartenders around the world. It is a neutral grain spirit that is redistilled with botanicals to extract the
aromatic compounds, with the predominant flavor being juniper berries. The variations among gin
products are the results of the differences in combinations and concentrations of these botanicals in the
distillation process. In this article, I will introduce you to some remarkable gins to demonstrate that,
although different in aroma and flavor, each brand of gin is exquisite in its own way with the fusion of
the botanicals it uses.
First, Tanqueray Gin, a renowned gin originated in Bloomsbury, London, has the smallest number of
botanicals. Its recipe contains only four botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, and licorice.
Thus, Tanqueray is one of the few gins which focus greatly in the juniper note. Although the lack of
citrus botanical makes it slightly drier than others, the dominant juniper can give out floral, citrus, and
even black pepper spice notes.
Tanqueray s much younger brother, Tanqueray No. Ten Gin, has all four base ... Show more content on

further twenty two locally sourced botanicals, all of which hand picked by foragers across the hills,

chamomile, meadowsweet and spearmint leaves make their appearances easier to identify than the
rest. The Botanist is a highly complex gin with overall floral and herbal notes balance out a clear
juniper scent. People might think that this gin, which contains thirty one herbs and flowers exclusively
from Islay, is a disorderly heap, but it is a wonderful gin with a harmonious, well balanced flavor

The Computer Of Computer Technology
Since the 1980 s, the growth of the technology sector has been exponential. The introduction of the
personal computer (PC) was the true catalyst for the growth in popularity of computer technology.
With this introduction also came the growth in popularity of being a computer scientist. The code used
to write the software for these personal computers was brand new and easy to use. What made it easy
to use was the fact that the computer code for the PC was very similar to the English language;
whereas, previous computers used punch cards as a way to program them.. This change was
revolutionary because it allowed anyone to learn how to program a computer. This, coupled with the
major computer advancements occurring in the United States, such as the internet, created the idea
that becoming a computer scientist almost guaranteed you a job. At the time, this was true. The idea
still is mostly true, however, many computer science jobs, usually Information Technology (IT) and
other entry level jobs that involve programming, have been moved overseas. This shift to outsourcing
is not very widespread as some people might think, but it could become widespread with the increase
in quality of life and job availability in other countries. The outsourcing, while currently not a major
issue, does have very real consequences for the future. Such consequences include lack of job
availability for college graduates in the United States and, as a result, an increase in unemployment.

The Eistads Research Paper
With six children and four adults spending all day on one confined houseboat, it was less than
peaceful. My family did not know what we were getting ourselves into spending a week with The
Eistads. They were a pleasant group of people, but our families were very different. They lived in a
small town surrounded fields, and The Eistads did not care much for hygiene. Lice were uncovered on
day three, and on day four there was the poop on the wall incident. The Eistads were a country bunch
and did many daily activities differently compared to my family.
Finally, the ciaos had become too much for my mother, Amy Eistad, and me, so we decided to take the
rickety pull behind boat out for an outing and hopefully bring back some dinner. A little determination
from Amy finally got the motor to start, and we crawled around with our lines in the water. Amy was
the most experienced at controlling a motor, so she guided us around ... Show more content on

My mother and I hauled our fish into the boat and then relieved Amy of her motor duties. Three fish in
the boat was an accomplishment that we all beamed over.
The sun was starting to set, so we decided to head back to the houseboat and boast about our catch to
the others over dinner. Just as were all packed up, it started to down pour. The rushing winds and
gushing waves filled our tiny tin boat quickly. We were on the brink of being capsized.
Grab the buckets, bellowed Amy.
My mother and I hastily grabbed the buckets, and we started to move the water back where it
belonged. Then it happened. The motor puttered for a few minutes and then ultimately died. The
smoke from the motor filled our noses. I looked around and realized that we were stuck in the middle
of the lake, in pouring rain, with no motor. Basically, we were sitting in an electric conducting death
trap. I glanced over at Amy who was buckled over in laughter at the back of the boat

Professional Goals Essay
In my future endeavors, I would like to pursue a master s degree in nursing as an education specialist.
This specialty of nursing is something that has always intrigued me and after working within the
hospital setting I know this is where I aspire to be. I believe helping current and future nurses expand
upon their knowledge would be very fulfilling for me.
I have come to the decision to pursue a degree in nursing education after spending time as a clinical
preceptor for the hospital I work in. This role involves taking a student from the local nursing school
and allowing them to work side by side with you for around nine weeks. I love the feeling that
teaching someone else the profession gives me. I also took the role of Skin Care Champion , ... Show

This is a great attribute to have as a master s prepared nurse because often times you re in a position of
authority over other people. Responsibility and rational thinking would not only help with my career,
but also anyone I was working with as an educator. I am very dedicated to my work and take any job I
do very seriously. This would help with my master s degree studies because I would put forth my best
effort with the courses. It would also help as a master s prepared nurse because I would dedicate
myself to my work and the people I help educate.
The MSN program would help me meet my professional goals by providing me with the resources to
advance my degree. It would be an opportunity to go further with my knowledge and career. It would
also allow me to go into my community after graduation and take my new found knowledge to my
peers. This program would give me the stepping stone I need to take on an advanced role in my
nursing career. It would also allow me the skills to be a leader in my hospital and community. The
main thing the MSN program would allow me to do is expand my knowledge to help the patients I
encounter each day.
Thank you for taking the time to review my essay. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I know
my undergraduate work was not top notch, but I would be very invested in your program. Thank you
again for this

Coco Energy Drink
Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
Rationale of the Study
Across the globe today, more and more people are becoming drawn to living healthy lifestyles, and
practicing healthy eating habits. With the proliferation of diseases previously unheard of and the
progression of already identified ones into more life threatening strains, the adage prevention is better
than cure has become a mantra among individuals wishing to preserve the well being of their bodies.
The natural products health industry is a very lucrative one. In 2008, it expanded by 8% to $270B
despite the economic downturn that rocked many industries. The industry is still on the rise
throughout the world. As seen in the table below, it is expected to experience ... Show more content on

This healthier lifestyle leads to more productive results, and will eventually benefit the institutions in a
significant way in the long run.

The tropical fruit has emerged as a hot trend, with its nutritional components being promoted for
health or fitness reasons. Coconut water is advertised as a refreshing, electrolyte rich beverage suitable
for replacing sports drinks. Not to be confused with the far richer coconut milk, coconut water is a
clear liquid extracted from very young green coconuts. It s billed as nature s sports drink because like
Gatorade and other energy drinks, it contains water for rehydration, carbohydrates in the form of sugar
for energy, and electrolytes to replace what s lost through sweat.
In most cases, the best way to restore your body s fluids and electrolytes after exercise is simply with
water and food, particularly fruit. In cases of severe exertion or illness, however, a quick electrolyte
boost may be necessary. For those reluctant to consume sports drinks with all their added colors,
flavors, sweeteners and preservatives, nature has provided the perfect rehydrating drink and that is the
coconut water.
Coconut water is found inside the cavity of a young, unripe coconut. The balance of electrolytes in
coconut water is nearly the same as that in the human blood.

Different Aspects Of School Involvement Towards Health And...
Different aspects of school involvement towards health and wellness has long been thought to
influence students. Research argues that health promoting lifestyle activities maintain or improve
individual s health and wellness (reference). Researchers suggest that health promotion includes a
process of empowerment of the community to act on the improvement of their life and health qualities
(research) A closer look into a healthy lifestyle begins at childhood. Healthy lunches promote physical
activity and healthy diets. School lunches need to have nutritional value and a well balanced nutrition
scale including fruits, grains, vegetables, protein and dairy. Recess enhances health and academic
benefits. Recess involves more than just stimulating indoor activities, but also simply thirty minutes of
exercise outside. Moreover, the healthy lifestyle needs promotion by an authoritative figure or
institution. Many students rely on teachers, principals, nurses, etc. to teach them the essentials of
health because parents may lack the knowledge to do so.
In a school setting, health promotion entails providing students with educational courses, activities,
school lunches, and recess. All of these factors contribute immensely to the balance of a student s life.
Control must be given to the student to allow them to improve their health and cause a rise in
awareness. The purpose of this study evaluates the methods that public and private middle schools in
the Athens metro area distribute

  • 3. Ethical Surrogates Surrogacy occurs when another women carries a child for a couple, who for a particular reason are not able to carry a biological child themselves (Kerridge, Lowe, Stewart, 2013, p. 493 494). The child may be genetically linked to the surrogate or gustatory where there is no genetic link to the child (Kerridge et al, 2013, p. 493 494). Infertile couples should be allowed to use surrogates in order to have a child, although the laws and regulations need to be closely monitored and potential surrogates need to be aware of the moral and ethical problems they may encounter throughout the process. Surrogacy can be a magical and beautiful gift, yet there are many problems, which arise that, often surrogates and potential parents do not consider. Bonnie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 427). Surrogacy is often compared to child selling, although human life is not measurable in a monetary figure (Steinbock, 1988, p. 427). The baby m case provides a greater insight into these 2 objections, which Steinbock further discusses. In the baby m case the surrogate was paid to be impregnated and carry the child, this is where laws and regulations need to be strongly monitored, as the contract never stated turnover of the child meaning the surrogate fulfilled her contractual agreement if she did not provide the child to the parents (Steinbock, 1988, p. 427). The courts found that the payment made to the surrogate to turn the child over was prohibited (Steinbock, 1988, p. 427). The baby m case was a complicated and a good example of a surrogacy agreement, which went wrong. This case shows that governments need to enforce stricter laws and regulations regarding surrogacy to ensure there is no confusion and no child selling. Steinbock (1988) suggests that rather than be paid for giving up the child that surrogates instead are paid for anything involving the pregnancy such as medical expenses which will then allow the process to been seen a another form of adoption as the child is not being purchased (p. 428). There are not many women who would endure pregnancy with the ultimate outcome to be providing a family with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Did Billy Joel s Song We Didn T Start The Fire American composer and pianist Billy Joel wrote the song We Didn t Start the Fire regarding the important events that occurred in the twentieth century. Joel was born in 1949 after World War II. Joel said that the meaning behind We Didn t Start the Fire was to inform his audience that all the events that he spoke about in this song were not his generation s fault, but the fault of their predecessors. The song became a best seller and a great success and in 1989 it was nominated for a Grammy Award. One of the most famous lyrics in the song is JFK, blown away, what else do I have to say . This event alluded to the events that occurred at the time of the assassination of the 35th President of the United States, President John F. Kennedy (Bishop 175). I desired to read this book for quite some time but was adamant about reading it, purely because I did not want to engage in such a well known classic. Throughout my time hearing about Frankenstein, I have become brainwashed into believing that the Monster Frankenstein had created was nothing more than a mere brainless creatures bent on destruction. I approached this novel with that mindset. Just a little while ago, while researching the Philosopher s Stone and the Elixir of Life for methods to bring these two ideas into reality (the latter more than the former), I came across a brief mention of this novel, Frankenstein. • 8. Roles Of Globalization Role of Globalization The effects of globalization in society can be seen every day, but because we are so used to them we sometimes forget that they are happening. Changes in globalization can be very small or very big usually depending on where you live in the world. But no matter how small or how large these changes are affecting the way our world works and grows every day. Globalization affects our daily lives in almost an infinite amount of ways, but mainly in three main areas. The areas with the most effect on globalization are political practices, economical aspects, and socio cultural traits all of which add up to give countries international status based specifically on how we function as an ever growing human race. The definition of Globalization from our text book Essentials of Sociology: A Down To Earth Approach written by James Henslin is, the breaking down of national boundaries because of advances in communications, trade, and travel, but globalization is much broader than just those three things, and can be interpreted in many ways (Henslin 34). Globalization is best seen from a functionalist sociological point of view, because globalization itself plays a certain role in how the world works. By allowing the transfer of knowledge and traits, globalization plays its part in society by diversifying the world. In regards to our daily social lives, the first major effect globalization has is what stands above and controls all the others. This is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, with brexit getting more certain and sable for the UK financial market another question will be to know if the EU regulations for the UK would be a big burden for their transactions outside the EU as financial regulations are still developing. Differences Between Tertullian And Justin Martyr Yves Gerard 17FA BIBL 111 Intro to Christian Hist/Thght (14) Drawing on other parts of their writings, what are Tertullian and Justin Martyr saying about faith, reason, and philosophy in these passages? Are their positions in conflict? What are the implications of each perspective? Many believe that the writings of early Church Fathers were lectured to different sects. In fact, one may assume that there are Similarities and differences between Tertullian and Justin Martyr. Particularly, let s compare Tertullian s and Justin Martyr perspective of faith, reason, and philosophy! Justin Martyr is Known as the defender of the faith (Tony lane), (p.10) He looked for truth in Greek philosophy. Likewise, his apology is in defense of the Christian faith and belief of Christianity. Of the writings that subsist, his First Apology (c. 155 c.e.; English translation, 1861) contains a resilient appeal for justice lectured to Antoninus. In that work, he clarifies Christian morals to influence his reader of Christian faithfulness and honesty. However, also central to this writing is his claim that Hebrew prophecy and Greek philosophy, both informed by the divine Logos (the Word), pointed to the coming of Christ. Through such dispute, he facilitated to institute the early Christian theme which faith is greater than Greek philosophy and is the result of Judaic belief. • 13. Love Not Legalism By Madeleine L Engle Love Not Legalism Madeleine L Engle was a fierce thought provoking writer. She challenged me as both a believer and a writer. Her scatterbrained writing style was relatable to me and so were the things she talked about. She would have been a wonderful wise woman to grab a meal with. She did not shy away from controversial topics; but instead, she introduced them. In Walking on Water L Engle sought to share the freedom available to us if we allow Jesus Christ to break us free from our chains. One of the topics that L Engle humbly addressed was the topic of legalism. I greatly appreciated this because I find that many world renowned leaders shy away from talking about it, when in reality it may be one of the enemy s most disguised tools. When people see God as an unapproachable killjoy, it becomes natural to grow distant from Him, and I know that before becoming a Christian this was the biggest stumbling block for me and I know some of the most kindhearted people cannot grasp the fact that God loves them and that He sent His one and only son to save them. L Engle also tackled the major misconception that God does not know how to laugh. He created humor and is pretty humorous himself. George MacDonald said, It is the Heart that is not yet sure of its God that is afraid to laugh in His presence (131). I am learning that more and more every day. The common trait that my most joyful friends share is confidence in God s love for them. A relationship with God has so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Two years after Shirley was born, her family with her newborn brother moved from San Francisco to Burlingame, California, about thirty miles away. According to her mother, Shirley began to compose verse almost as soon as she could write it (Friedman, 18). As a child, Shirley was interested in sports and literature. In 1930, a year before she attended Burlingame High School, Shirley began writing poetry and short stories. Jackson enrolled in the liberal arts program at the University of Rochester in 1934. But more often there were abusive letters from people who did not understand her motives or what she was trying to do. The critics by that time, had decided that Shirely Jackson was a writer of much talent and uniqueness. Even though Jackson was raising four children while her husband went to work, she still found time to write. Sometimes when a story idea would come to her, she would bolt off to her typewriter. The Pseudoscience of the Modern World The creation and development of Alchemy has been teeming with countless stories of philosophical theories, alchemic brilliance, and public ridicule and disgrace due to failure to create a legendary substance known as the Philosophers stone. As a result, this stone has been one of the most pursued objects of Europe an history providing the driving force for Alchemy. This sacred art is what pioneered the very first tools, process, and theories of modern chemistry (Alchemy). His other theory states there are four Aristotelian Qualities: hot, dry, wet, and cold. Each classic element was thought to be a different combination of two of these qualities (Aristotle). Aristotle also gave a theory that was most likely responsible for the search for gold. The theory stated that perfection in the natural world is achieved over time. Not a bad idea, even in modern culture. Aristotle had much reason to believe in this. Natural transformations to perfection could easily be observed throughout nature. Examples include seeds turning into plants or caterpillars turning into butterflies. In both cases, a flower is the highest form of a seed. A butterfly is the highest form of a caterpillar. The greeks believed that gold was the highest form of metals. They also reasoned that metals grew in the earth. Similarly to a butterfly or seed, given enough time, all metals would eventually grow into gold. When the idea of the Philosophers Stone was heavily introduced in the 8th century, it was thought to speed up this growing (Alchemy and the Road). Greece s enormous progression in all arts during the Hellenistic was due to the constant conquering of land by Alexander the Great. Among his first captured land was Egypt. • 18. Definition Of Sanctity Of Human Life Definition: Sanctity of human life refers to the fact that human life, due to the fact that humans are created in the image of God and share His likeness, is valued over the lives of plants and animals. Unlike plants and animals, God blessed us with the ability to experience and convey emotion. Humans also can be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ or condemned to hell if they choose not to accept Christ. Man is the only being created in the image of God, therefore having the aforementioned blessings of emotion and salvation, making man so much more important. When people ignore this fundamental and necessary sanctity of life, terrible things like abortion and mass shootings occur. History: A biblical example of a violation of the sanctity of human life is in Genesis 4, the story of Cain and Abel. Cain violated the sanctity of human life and killed his own brother simply because Abel s sacrifice was accepted by God, but Cain s was not. Cain did not give his best to God in the offering, but instead of dealing with his own shortcomings with God, he murdered his brother out of anger and jealousy. By not fixing his own heart issue, he committed a vile sin that would forever shape his own life and the life of his descendents. There are many modern examples of this disregard for the value of life, such as: abortion, mass shootings, suicides, and suicide bombers. One major example is the recent Los Vegas shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival where 59 people were killed and at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The introduction of the personal computer (PC) was the true catalyst for the growth in popularity of computer technology. With this introduction also came the growth in popularity of being a computer scientist. The code used to write the software for these personal computers was brand new and easy to use. What made it easy to use was the fact that the computer code for the PC was very similar to the English language; whereas, previous computers used punch cards as a way to program them.. This change was revolutionary because it allowed anyone to learn how to program a computer. This, coupled with the major computer advancements occurring in the United States, such as the internet, created the idea that becoming a computer scientist almost guaranteed you a job. At the time, this was true. The idea still is mostly true, however, many computer science jobs, usually Information Technology (IT) and other entry level jobs that involve programming, have been moved overseas. This shift to outsourcing is not very widespread as some people might think, but it could become widespread with the increase in quality of life and job availability in other countries.
