Tapioca flour contains no gluten, but is often combined with rice flour, baking soda, and baking powder to produce rise similar to gluten-containing flours. The precise measurements show tapioca flour to be the most effective at making bread rise.

The document discusses the treatment of women in Jack Kerouac's novel "On The Road", noting that the female characters are not given the same depth of character as the male characters. The women are portrayed as either virgin/mother figures or whores, with Sal and Dean objectifying and using women for sex. This suggests the novel reflects the sexist attitudes of the time period in which it was written.
The document discusses stock trading mechanics and its importance for financial decision making. It explains that understanding how stocks are traded, including things like placing orders, order matching, and order types is essential for making sound financial decisions. LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can

2. Ethnic Groups In The Rohingya
The Rohingya are an ethnic group with majority being Muslim who live in the Buddhist Myanmar.
Often, the Rohingya are called the worlds most persecuted minority. As of today, there are at least
1.1 million Rohingya that currently live in Southeast Asia. The language spoken by the Rohingya
is known as Ruaingga and is very distinct. Out of the 135 ethnic groups in the country they are not
considered one and have continuously been denied citizenship in Myanmar since the year 1982.
They are not allowed to leave without permission from the government.
They are forced to live under harsh conditions such as living in ghetto like camps and lack basic
needs. Due to the threat of persecution and constant violence many have fled to neighboring
countries. during the years of British ruling many laborers migrated to Myanmar from Bangladesh
and India. Many natives to the country thought negatively from the migrators and after independent
from the British government deemed the migration as illegal. this has led to years of un fair
treatment to the Rohingya.
I think it s easy to say that one of the very first issues regarding the Rohingya ethnic group is that
they are denied some of the very basic human rights listed in the UDHR. For example, in Article 1.
Article 1 states that all human rights are born free and equal in dignity and rights they are
endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of Brotherhood.

3. Human Trafficking In Sex Trafficking
Sex Slavery is still recognized as the fastest growing illicit crime industry producing an estimated
twenty four billion dollar in profit; sex trafficking ranks third amongst illicit offenses. Sex slaver
serves as the face of modern day sex trafficking exploiting millions of women and children every
year within or across international borders. This illegal industry involves recruiting, transporting,
and receipt of children or adults solely for self exploitation. In other words, its seen as a
horrendous crime, an assault on freedom and human dignity. It is palpable that sex slaveryimpacts
all countries all over the world, although some countries experience greater levels compared to
others. Notwithstanding motives for sex trafficking are both multifaceted and interrelated. Higher
risk countries are those with fractured government s, vulnerability due to poverty, the absence of
sufficient protection against discrimination, and economic decline. Somalia, a country more
vulnerable to modern slavery, renders the perfect opportunity to assess how individuals in
searching for a better life ends up in the most unwanted predicament. This paper will examine the
meaning of sex slavery, how women and children become victims of such ghastly crimes, supplier,
emissary, the consumer, and decide who is mostly at fault.

4. Disadvantages Of Fair Trade
Having the privilege to live in a developed country like America has blessed us with an abundance
of prospers opportunities, but have we let these opportunities outweigh the Earths health? This
question may not be one that can be answered till future time. Accordingly, what we can discuss is
how our purchases have a ripple effect on the natural environment and undeveloped cultures in
which many times they derived from or are at. With concepts like fair tradeand using reusable and
sustainable products to help make a healthier and a more just world.
Being a conscious consumer currently is no small task, with multiple choices of mega stores filled
with products that our most time often than not filled with products that are cheaply produced.
Moreover, the big company s give little regard to the producer. This is where the conceptof fair
trade comes from. In a piece of Harvard s Journal of Economic Perspectives states that Fair Trade
is a labeling initiative aimed at improving the lives of the poor in developing countries by offering
better terms to producers and helping them to organize. (Dragusanu, Giovannucci, Nunn, 2014) The
article continues to say that ...Fair Trade certified coffee exports were 1.8 percent of global coffee
exports in 2009... (Dragusanu, Giovannucci, Nunn, 2014) A reason why this percent maybe so
small could be due to peoples who make the argument that Fair Trade is not economically
sustainable. This meaning that if these producers are underneath the

6. Sobibor Death Camp Research Paper
R
Throughout the course of the Holocaust there were major rebellions at 3 of the 6 death camps
(death camps were concentration camps that carried out mass killings under the SS). Treblinka,
Sobibor and Auschwitz Birkenau all had major uprising by inmates. Although the methods used by
inmates in each case vary, they all share a common theme: they were caused by desperation from
the imminent presence of death.
The uprising at the Treblinka camp was triggered by a series of German military defeats
bringing the camp closer to liberation by allied forces. The Jewish prisoners knew that if the
allies came close to the camp the SS would liquidate all of the inmates and destroy the camp to
hide any evidence of the atrocities committed within. After careful planning and the discovery and
suicide of the original resistance leader, an escape was made. 300 inmates broke free of the
barbed wire fences as resistance fighters attacked the guards. During the SS lead manhunt that
followed, 200 of the 300 escapees ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sonderkommando (German for Special Unit ) were Jews in a camp that were forced under threat of
death to dispose of the bodies killed in the gas chambers. The Sonderkommandos were treated
better than most prisoners and had many special privileges because they needed to be in good
shape for the work they did. The SS also considered them to know too much about the horrors
going on and routinely gassed the entire unit every few months. Eventually a plan was made and
the Sonderkommandos attacked and killed 11 SS officers and seized the camp armory. The
uprising was soon discovered and the inmates had to run. About half of the original prisoners
made it out of the camp but most were killed by the surrounding minefield or recaptured by SS
patrols. Of 600 prisoners, 58 are known to have survived the

employee at the counter. There were very few photographs hanging from the wall, and he thought
to himself that he would not be purchasing anything that day, until he saw it. As he was about to
turn back around and walk out, something caught his eye. His hand unwrapped from the handle of
his briefcase, and it dropped to the floor making a thumping sound. His eyes were opened wide
with the look of complete and utter shock, and his body went numb. For a moment he felt as

10. The Growing Culture Of Athletics
Professor Henry
Senior Seminar

Mini Review Draft Two
Introduction
The growing culture of athletics has exploded into more than that of just a sport. Collegiate and
professional American football has grown itself into a multi billion dollar industry with a fan
base of over 350 million people. As the game of football has grown and evolved, so has the
demand for bigger athletes. All positions have increased in size through the years, however one
position has seen the greatest increase in size. The average weight of an NFL offensive lineman
today is 310 pounds. This is an average increase of 50 pounds in 60 years. Teams and coaches are
pushing for players to get larger at a faster rate, primarily offensive lineman. The drawback with
this philosophy is as the size of the individual increases, as does the risk of health complications.
However, size isn t the only concern for these players that has recently has had light shed upon it,
the process of playing a line position (offensive or defensive) includes repeatedly taking head
collisions against the opposing player. Recent research has shown that this type of play, even while
wearing protective headgear, is causing lasting brain damage and head trauma. The purpose of this
review is to examine the research that has been conducted on the negative health effects associated
with playing the offensive lineman position at the collegiate and professional level. Also, why these
conditions are arising and what the

12. U.s. Gross Domestic Product
As the United States moved further away from the immediate economic boom in the final years
of the World War and the following several years, its economy showed a major decline. While
the country fought one of the biggest wars of all time, defense spending rose to levels as high as
37.8 percent of U.S. gross domestic product (Teslik). World War II was financed through debts and
an increase in taxes, and this negatively effected both consumption and investment. Some believed
that the war would improve the economy due to the increase in GDP during those years, but at the
end of the war, the economic growth fell back to the same trend it had been following during the
1930 s (Institute for Economics and Peace). During the 1960 s, Federal spending soared because
the government was attempting to fund new programs such as Medicare, Food Stamps, and various
plans to improve the education system (US Department of State). Then, with the war in Vietnam on
the horizon, military spending began increasing as well, and the government started spending a
surplus of money, since it had to fund both the war on poverty domestically, and the prepare the
nation for another war internationally. The government raised taxes throughout the 1950 s and into
the 1960 s with income tax rates reaching the high 80% (Top US Tax Rates Over Time, graph). The
government was unable to raise enough revenue through taxes, as they had just spent billions of
dollars on the Second World War, and inflation

13. Various Biogeochemical Cycles In Our Biosphere Allow For
Various biogeochemical cycles in our biosphere allow for the sustainability of living organisms,
with each cycle being composed of numerous interactions between the environment and the
organisms living within them. In particular, the nitrogen cycle is a key component allowing for the
movement of nitrogen throughout the biosphere via several biologically mediated processes,
particularly nitrification. Nitrification is one of the most well known processes in microbial
ecology and has always been considered to occur in a two step manner, involving the initial
oxidation of ammonia (NH3) to nitrite (NO2 ) and the subsequent oxidation of nitrite (NO2 ) to
nitrate (NO3 ) (Kowalchuk Stephen, 2001). The vastly diverse microorganisms mediating... Show

Though Nitrospira like most other NOB have not yet been thoroughly studied or cultured, recent
studies especially by van Kessel and colleagues (2015) a month prior to the publication of this
study identified the existence of possible complete ammonia oxidizing organisms, coined the term
comammox organisms (van Kessel et al., 2015). The study presented in this paper illustrates the
discovery of the first cultured comammox organism Candidatus Nitrospira inopinata, from its
discovery in a microbial biofilm to its genomic analysis.
Experiment Daims and colleagues (2015) initiated the study in Aushiger, Russia in April 2011,
following the sampling of a microbial biofilm situated on a metal pipe constantly under the flow of
hot water, from a 1200 meter deep oil exploration well. Using the biofilm as an inoculum, it was
incubated at 46вЃ° C in an ammonium containing mineral medium for the enrichment of
moderately thermophilic ammonia oxidizing microbes. Following several serial dilutions in a
similar AOM medium, the enrichment culture ENR4 was cultivated. The ENR4 culture was now
scaled up to obtain enough biomass for DNA extraction, and various other analyses including phase
contrast microscopy, electron microscopy, FISH, PCR and metagenomics. From the early

Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to investigate how introducing, but more specifically substituting,
a halogen into a molecule will affect the bond lengths and bond angles of that molecule. The
molecule we will be working with is Ammonia (NH3) and these halogens will be substituted into
the place of a hydrogen. We will investigate the impact of this now attached atom upon the
molecule structure.
Plan/Methodology: For this investigation, it is necessary to use a piece of software to accurately
model the molecule and measure bond angles. This should provide the data necessary to ascertain ...

However, as the halogens within the molecule are being pushed away, any hydrogens still within
the molecule also begin to move closer. Overall, though, as halogens were introduced, the bond
lengths of the molecule increased, which can be understood due to a variety of factors. For
example, due to the decrease of electronegativity within the halogens as you proceed down the
group, there is also a larger amount of shielding within the individual atoms. Because of this, when

15. Mass Suicide by Jim Jones Cult
Jim Jones was the founder of the Peoples Temple; a cult best recognized for the mass murder
/suicide of over 900 people. Before the events that made him a part of history, he was seen as a man
with great charisma and visionary ideas; now he is viewed as a manipulator, abuser, and murderer.
This paper will explore the life of Jim Jonesand with the use of psychological models, try
identifying abnormal behavior patterns. Jones grew up in Indiana with his mother and disabled,
alcoholic father in a small shack with no plumbing. His parents held very opposite views of race
that would come to influence Jones later in life. His father was said to be associated with the Ku
Klux Klan, while his mother was in support forward progress politics; Jones would come to side
with the latter. As a child, Jones studied Joseph Stalin, Karl Marx, Mahatma Gandhi, and Adolf
Hitler (Reiterman, 1982). He would pick out the strength of each person and this is where he
gained his knowledge that led him to be in support of socialism. Jones was obsessed with
religion as a child and would often perform funerals for deceased animals; one of these animals
came from when he stabbed a cat to death. Jones showed many signs of intelligence; one being
when he graduated from high school early with honors (Jones, 2002). Jim Jones saw the
application of the religion to spread his ideas; socialistic ideas to be precise. He became a student

of what to expect. As I walked in I saw the amazing artwork around, the high ceilings, and a wide
variety of instruments scattered on different levels of the stage. On the first level there were many
small hand held instruments such as flutes and clarinets, on the second there were a wide variety of
brass instruments, and finally in the last row were the percussion instruments. Knowing that it was

This song seemed to require the most work from the performers as it used a wide range of
dynamics, pitches, and tempo. The last song of the evening, and probably my favorite (not just
because it was the last), was Folk Dances . This song, just like the first, had a very festive feel to
it. The upbeat tempo, lead by the flutes and clarinets, made the song very enjoyable to hear and
also had a very happy feel to it, which, in my mind, made it a very appropriate closer. The song
started with a great tempo but a relatively soft dynamic. This quickly changed about half way
through the song when the dynamics picked up. The loud dynamics with the fast tempo at the end
of the song had a very grandiose sound and left the audience with a great taste in their mouths.
Overall, this was a very good performance. The audience applauded greatly at the end as parents
stood proudly and embraced their sons and daughters. I thought that it was well put together and
was very interesting. I enjoyed the music more than I thought I would and have the upmost of

The performance given by the Andean ensemble was quite spectacular, from the marching in of
the Tarkeda Los Jovenes and the fact that it used recorders and drums in way which I don t think I

starting off with an upbeat song then transitioning to songs that have a sort of slow fast form to

instruments that were used in the concertare what surprised me the most, which included guitars,

Akhenaten quickly declines into his new theological ambition. In a new empathy for the god of
light and life, Aten Akhenaten is consumed by his reverence for this new icon. Akhenaten readies
his people for a new development by driving Egyptians to disregard all gods except for Aten.
Akhenaten has his subjects and ruing class members undergo a revision that will suit Akhenaten s
new status quo for Egypt under Aten. Egypt is now left to face the abandonment of an estimated
two thousand deities worshipped in the ancient Egyptian culture. Almost overnight Akhenaten
transforms Egypt into a monotheistic culture and he promotes himself as the ultimate and sole

Line four was tricky to understand because of how heavily the metaphors used in the line were.
The part where the speaker says bare ruined choirs could be referring to the tree being bare when
the leaves fall and where late the sweet birds sang don t sing on the tree anymore. Line four is
symbolizing that when the speaker was youthful the sweet birds would sing and the speaker is
now older and he realizes that he has gotten older. The first quatrain is a metaphor of life and how
people age and get older. In an article written by Bernhard Frank, Frank expresses that Shakespeare
used the logic of pathos, building our empathy from ruefulness for the yellow leaves, through
resignation, to tender sympathy. (Frank). There are many ways to interpret the first quatrain but
Shakespeare may be pulling on the emotions of the reader.
The second quatrain also starts the beginning of a new metaphor, unlike the first quatrain the
second quatrain focuses on the time of the day instead of the time of the year. In the fifth line of
the poem the speaker is saying that the reader can see him in the last part of the day after the sun
has set and there is light still in the horizon but it s fading away. The line break between line five
and six is very brief, and this may have been down on purpose because the speaker s explanation
of where the reader can see him during the day is a long explanation and the idea needs two lines

25. Charles Bailey And Martha Nussbaum
This essay is conceived with the purpose of demonstrating personal understanding of liberal
education as a result of assessing historic theory of Aristotle and comparing the contemporary
theories of Charles Bailey and Martha Nussbaum. In addition, the applicable situations of liberal
education and its governing principles will be discussed. Specifically, given the inevitable
engagement of compulsory education, which is inherently authoritarian, some aspects of liberal
education are limited, and full personal autonomycannot be actualized. In this situation, liberal
education would be less effective and less suitable due to the loss of freedom to some degree.
However, the importance of liberal education is vital in breaking old cultural and religious world
views to produce open minded students who are capable of critical thinking. In addition, more
benefits of liberal education will be shown in my later analysis by comparing it to education that is
straightly vocational.
The word liberal originates from the Latin liberalis , meaning free men who have been taken out
of servitude. A liberal society can be considered one composed of autonomous people who are

Next, we looked for the presence of GABA (B) receptors in the larval antennal lobe.
Immunohistochemistry analysis were performed in animals expressing GFP in all 21 ORNs.
We found that GABA (B) receptor R1 localized to the ORN synaptic terminals. We conclude that
the GABA (B) R1 is localized at the ORN synapses. Root et al., 2008 observed GABA (B) receptors

receptors staining in larval stage too. Staining image is represented in Figure 11.

THERMOREGULATION IN THE NEONATE
By: Shubhada Ponkshe

INTRODUCTION:
Thermoregulation is a critical physiologic function that is closely related to the transition and
survival of the infant. An understanding of transitional events and the physiologic adaptations that
neonates must make is essential to helping the nurse provide an appropriate environment and help
infants maintain thermal stability.
Optimizing the thermal environment has proven significant for improving the chances of survival
for small infants. Understanding the basic physiologic principles and current methodology of
thermoregulation is important in the clinical care of these tiny infants.
Thermoregulation is the ability to balance heat production ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HYPOTHERMIA / COLD STRESS:
Peripheral vasoconstriction: acrocyanosis, cold extremities, decreased peripheral perfusion.
CNS depression: lethargy, bradycardia, apnea, poor feeding
Increased pulmonary artery pressure: respiratory distress, tachypnea
Chronic signs: weight loss, failure to thrive
PREVENTION OF HYPOTHERMIA:
Hypothermia can be prevented by maintaining a neutral thermal environment and reducing heat
loss. For prevention in reduction of heat consider the four ways by which the neonate experiences
heat loss and intervene appropriately.
Convective heat loss can be prevented by:
Providing warm ambient air temperature Placing infants less than 1500 grams in incubators
Keeping portholes of the incubator closed Warming all inspired oxygen On open warmers keeping

Many people bought radios, as they were cheap and effective. The radio was a useful tool for
emergencies. If a weather emergency took place, people nearby would be warned hours before
it hit due to the radio. It was also important in that the range of radios was limited. That way, the
entire world would not know about a small thunderstorm in a small town. However, the reverse
could be true. The radio also worked long range, and was important in telling the United States
population if war had started, or about other big news, like the Stock Market Crash. The radio
was also a very important form of communication in war. World War II was the first war that was
a technology based war. The war had soldiers and commanders communicating and forming a

radio also had a huge impact on the 1920s because it spread religion, culture, and society news.

species of apes, antelope, and deer.
III. Population The exact origins of most Indian people are impossible to determine because of
the large variety of races and cultures that have been assimilated into the subcontinent. India ranks
as the second most populous country in the world, trailing only China, with a population of about
966,783,171, some 73 percent of whom live in rural areas. The northern plains region is the most
fertile and densely populated area. Hindus are India s largest religious group. More than 1600
languages or dialects are spoken in India, and India s official language is Hindi. Since gaining its
independence from Great Britain in 1947, India has sought to develop a modern, comprehensive
school system.
Indian culture is primarily Hindu oriented. Many Hindu institutions, including the rigid caste

Influence of Religion on Society during the Fifteenth and Sixteenth Centuries
The undeniable power, force, and influence of religion stand out throughout history. However,
according to J. Michael Allen and James B. Allen in World History from 1500, in the fifteenth and
sixteenth centuries, religion was exceptionally important, because it had a great influence on
everything from government to social order and family relationships (16). Hundreds of years may
separate these two time periods and the modern world, but the same positive effects of religion
such as unity, security, and a social order are still basic ideals in today s world. This is also true
for the negative effects such as the conflicts that result in war and ... Show more content on

With this sense of security and belonging felt throughout the community, people felt united,
especially as Joan was able to mobilize them to fight For God and for France. They shared
common interests and common goals in living a religious lifestyle as dictated by their religion
whenever possible. In fact, one of Christopher Columbus s motives for sailing westward to India
was to open up opportunities to take the Christian gospel to the heathen (Allen Allen 23). Religion
also brought a new structure to households. Elders were not only parents, but they also became
teachers and role models for their children (12). This became obvious in the movie Joan of Arc,
where the majority of dinner conversations related to their religious beliefs, as it was important to
pass on the importance and need for religion to the future generations. Unity was a very powerful
tool during this time period because power came in numbers. This was obvious when Joan gathered
the community and convinced the people to defend their beliefs and fight back against the English.
Since the people were united in their faith, it was much easier to defend their territories and beliefs.
Thus, religion had tremendous positive effects.
On the other hand, this new feeling of expansion, security, hope, and unity were the constant
conflicts of opposing beliefs and struggles. For instance, although there were many

In modern times he is sometimes referred to as The Demon, The Devil, or The Ruler of Hell.
These are titles given to him to show his purpose in most of the modern world. Today he is
portrayed as the evil ruler of Hell who seeks the destruction of Mankind. This belief began in
early Christianity, and was reinforced by Lutherans, Protestants, and Catholics alike. Before the
second century ages it was thought that Satan and his demons could possess your body and cause
physical ailments such as blindness, impotency, and madness. This change had a great deal to do
with Herma s The Shepherd where everyone is depicted as having an angel and a Demon guiding
them at all time. The angel responsible for all the good, and the demon for the bad. This led

Every foreign nation that participated was eager for the opportunity to showcase their unique
culture and history. The exhibits were set up in such a way as to highlight the artistic and
technological advances each country had made in the last century. These were displayed in The
Palaces, carefully and lavishly constructed show places, complete with immense columns and
spired towers. The Palaces by themselves made up five million square feet of exhibit space. The
Agriculture Palace was the largest of these, alone comprising twenty three acres. Foreigners
were also hired as living displays, providing fairgoers with a rare chance to interact with people
from exotic places. People were enchanted by geishas and so called Islander primitives . The
very best sculptors, carpenters, painters, jewelers, glassblowers and others flocked to Missouri
to show off their creations and sell their wares. The Pike was a primary attraction a mile long
presentation of theaters, games, and such adventures as stalking wild animals through a miniature
jungle or strolling the streets of ancient Rome. The expression coming down to the Pike was
coined at the Exposition. Perhaps one of the biggest attractors was that St. Louis was chosen to
host the 1904 Olympic games. This was the first time that the Olympics had been held in America
since the revival of the event in 1896. Back then, it did not draw nearly so big a crowd as it would

Michelle Obama and her husband, Barack Obama, has spent a lot of time and resources on. After
the introduction of the speech she speaks of a goal that her husband has set for America. She tells
that it should be the goal of the entire country to have the highest proportion of college graduates

greater chances of getting a job if you have a great education.
The audience of the speech is the sophomores of the DC High School. That means that she needs to
keep the speech relatively simple, as her audience isn t very old. As mentioned earlier the speech
was held during an educational event. That is the circumstance of the speech and under that she
addresses the topic education. The purpose of the speech is to motivate the students to continue
their education when they have finished high school in order to succeed later in life.
Other than the appeal forms she also uses rhetorical language or rhetorical tricks to motivate and
convince the students to continue their education. One of the most important parts of the text is the

40. Essay on My Development as a Writer
When writing a five paragraph essay, there are five steps one must fallow in order to attain
perfection, these steps include understanding the question, brainstorming, writing a rough copy,
revising, and creating a final draft. The first and most important step is understanding the topic. The
topic of the essayis what the essay will be about and if this is misunderstood, the whole essay will
be off course. The second step, brainstorming, will help organize thoughts and ideas so they flow
amiably. There are many different ways to brainstorm, some of the most helpful are making a web
of ideas, making a list of ideas, or creating a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the conviction.
All these ideas will be related to the topic at hand. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next step is revising and editing the rough draft. Revision helps the writer attain different
opinions and assessments about how the essay sounds, and flows, getting grammar and spelling
suggestions along the way. It is better to have many opinions rather than one because one person
might not catch a misspelled word that another would have. The more opinions a paper gets, the
better it may be. The final step when writing a five paragraph essay is creating a final draft. This is
the finished product and should include every aspect that an essay needs to get a point across.
Such aspects like a proper introduction, a clear thesis, three supporting paragraphs and a
conclusion that restates the thesis. Over the past few months, I have written many essays which
required me to research topics and build essays based on my opinions and thoughts, my favorite
being Generation Change and worst being children. The essay Generation Change is my best
work because of how I made the paper flow by using transitions and complex word choice. The
topic was about what I would name my generation and why. I thought it was easier to write about
this topic because I could use insight that I learned over the years to give examples such as the
introduction of global warming, the advancement of technology, the first African American
president and the change in culture. My worst essay in my opinion would be an essay comparing
and contrasting having children. I couldn t relate to

a text centered on the training to develop the perfection of wisdom. At the heart of this training is
the realization about the truth about emptiness. Buddhist scholarship involves commentary on the

Nothing is independent, thus all is empty. What we see as real, even within the descriptions given
by Buddhist texts, are pieces surrounding nothing. There is no essence. Even those pieces are
dependent.
Thus we arrive at Intrinsic Existence . Everything is dependent upon everything else. Everything is
interconnected through the karmatic chain of causality. The five aggregates are that which was
conditioned by things that were in turned conditioned, and so on. This process goes forever since
samsara is without conceivable beginning. Thus nothing arises independently. All is dependently
originated. If all is dependently arising, and everything originates within and through other causes,
this then allows for a deconstruction of all Buddhist Doctrine, and indeed, the bodhisattva
Avaloshivara proceeds to do so. He negates the Four Noble Truths, the five aggregates, the dukkha,
the dharma, enlightenment, and even its own teaching, stating, there is no wisdom (60). The third
section of the text is the training for those who are advanced in their spiritual development and
consists of a mantra. A mantra literally means mind protection and its powerful words when
chanted or spoken allowed act as a protective spell. This protection is against the influences of
conditioned ignorance, or the temptations of Mara, whose lot in life is to lead others away from
enlightenment. The mantra section of the text consists of two sections, the explanation

the brain to believe one environment can look like another, tricking the mind to assume the

45. Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, Power Relationships...
Introduction This essay explores how unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) are
oppressed in the UK. An unaccompanied asylum seeking child is a person under the age of
eighteen who has left their country of origin in order to seek refuge and is separated from both
parents and are not being cared for by an adult who, by law or custom has responsibility to do so
(UNHCR, 1994:121). They are therefore applying for asylum in their own right. Discrimination is
the process of identifying that someone is different and, due to this difference, treating them
unfairly (Thompson, 2006). Xenoracism is discrimination that is aimed at people specifically
because they are from a different country, and are therefore strangers (Sivanandan,... Show more

Power is the capacity to act in such a way as to control others (Harris, 1997:28). He argues that
everyone has at least some power, and that this power, for the relatively powerless, can be used
to influence the decisions of the dominant group. Unaccompanied asylum seeking children not
disclosing information can be seen as them exercising the little power they have. This can
however have a negative impact on their lives in the UK, for example, being placed under
section 17 of the Children Act instead of under section 20, which would offer the child more
support. Foucault (1977) uses discourse to relate to how language can be used to construct ideas
and thoughts about groups. Discourses and language can therefore help construct or reduce
oppression (Thompson, 2006). If a group has power, they have the ability and opportunity to
fulfil or obstruct personal, relational, or collective needs (Prilleltensky, 2008). If the dominant
discourse of a less powerful group is positive, the group with power may help that group fulfil
their needs. If the dominant discourse of a less powerful group is negative, such as with UASC,
the powerful group may obstruct them in fulfilling their needs, and therefore will cause oppression.
Innes (2010) argues that the negative discourse of asylum seekers as a threat to British society is
portrayed in government literature

school system where knowledge and skills are developed along with cultural and social values and
norms. Additionally, through the school system culture and society continue and further those
social values and norms thus fulfilling a need prescribed by society. The purpose of this paper is to

institution of education. As the functionalism theory states, each social institution exists in order to

A student will not excel academically if they do not enjoy attending school in general, or attending
specific classes therefore, what are some causes for a student feeling this way. It is evident that the
interactions between the students and instructors play a large role in how the students feel about
classes and school in general. Two major factors come into play here and they are, the instructors
social and emotional support for students and the nature of [the instructors ] expectations for
students academic performance (Hallinan, 2008). This interaction between student and instructor is
of great value as it influences how a student perceives themself and their environment within the
school system. For example, students that perceive they are being overlooked or their capabilities
are being undervalued by the instructor will perform poorly. Conversely, when an instructor shows
the student some attention, and shows them they are capable and of value as a student, the student
will perform to the best of their ability. However, for either of these scenarios to persist the
instructor must be consistent with their interactions with the student. Moreover, if the instructor s
expectations and interactions are not consistent with regard to the student then the ability in
predicting the student s success in school or their feelings toward school becomes problematic. The
predictability of a student s feelings
