Areas that Could Be Improved and Avoided in Future Studies...
In 2010 a study was published by Phyllis D. Morgan, Joshua Fogel, Indira D. Tyler, and John R.
Jones titled Culturally Targeted Educational Intervention to Increase Colorectal Health Awareness
among African Americans. This study will be examined following an objective critique of the
research conducted and reported. This analysis will show areas that could be improved and avoided
in futurestudies and reports.
This study was conducted to increase colonoscopy screening for colorectal cancer (CRC) in African
Americans as well as increase knowledge of CRC and decrease cancer fatalism. This study did
clearly state the four study objectives based off of their literature review. The literature review
showed several studies with increased ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The authors continued with the study by allowing a larger immediate intervention group and a
dramatically smaller delayed control group than envisioned. The delayed control group was only
8% of the total participants in this study. The authors provided a concise explanation of the
differences in the immediate intervention and the delayed control group. The data analysis stated
they used descriptive statistics for the sample data obtained. The results as described by the author
did have several possible unidentifiable errors particularly in the control group. The results were
discussed with relation to their objectives and the literature review however the analysis was highly
focused on the success of the study and only slightly addressed the limitations of such a small
control group in proportion to the immediate intervention group. The authors went in depth on the
ethical consideration and justification for continuing with the study with the uneven participant
groups. The conclusion of the study demonstrated the authors confidence in the cultural targeting of
education for CRC and the resulting increase in colonoscopy in African Americans.
This study was conducted in a reasonable manner and the limitations were clearly outlined by the
author. However the results

Information Has Become An Invaluable Resource
Information has become an invaluable resource. In modern society, it is necessary to be able to
send and receive data quickly in order to keep up with the rest of the world. With so much
technology at our fingertips, it is almost unheard of for someone to be without a device that can
connect the Internet. The technology that allows these devices to communicate with one another is
known as the Internetof Things. Because of this concept, people are now able to exchange
information faster than ever before. The idea of machines being able to communicate with each
other has been around since the early 1800s. The telegraph, invented in the 1830s, became the first

This data can be analyzed and used to improve people s lives. IoT Applications in 2016
IoT Analytics https://iot analytics.com/top 10 iot project application areas q3 2016/ One of the
most significant applications of IoT in society involves the media and entertainment industry. In
2014, the industry was the third fastest growing in terms of devices with IoT connections,
according to a report by Verizon Communications. More and more consumers are using devices
that can connect to the Internet, and are therefore being exposed to the content put out by
businesses. Because the industry already has most of the resources necessary to implement IoT,
businesses can gain valuable information on their customers. Businesses can use this data and
analyze it in order to deliver their advertisements in a way that is more tailored to the consumer.
Using a customer s location, behaviors, preferences, and demographics helps businesses
personalize this content so that the advertisement will be more likely to gain the viewer s interest.
With all the digital and mobile devices being used, the IoT has plenty of room to grow in this
industry. (EMarketer)
In addition to media and entertainment, the Internet of Things is also helping to improve the
transportation and logistics industry. It is crucial for businesses to have current, updated data on
hand for them to succeed in these areas and be productive as a company. The IoT can improve this
by giving businesses

Effects Of The North American Free Trade Agreement
We have been seeing in class about the neoliberalism reform in Latin America through out the
years and some of its implications it has had in this region. For my paper, I will go further into
the effects that neoliberalism reform had in Mexico. My paper will focus on the effects the North
American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) had specifically on Mexican workers, which will
provide further information and understanding as to what has been presented in class. In January
1994, the NAFTA free trade deal was signed into effect by president Bill Clinton, Mexican
president Carlos Salinas, and Canadian Prime Minister Jean ChrГ©tien. The main purpose for this
agreement was to make trading more efficient between these... Show more content on

McDonald explains how, under the neoliberal policies, farmers are expected by the government to
compete with the global economy with little government intervention. (McDonald 321) Small and
large farmers are faced with many problems that have to do with globalizing Mexico s economy.
The dairy industry in Mexico is organized into a three tiered production and process system and
during this time each market level prices increased. This made farmers very upset since the price
of milk was too low given the production cost. They also felt like that middleman were
exploiting them because they were not getting paid for their work or being paid late. Many
farmers started seeing their cows now not as a form of money but more of an expense. Under
NAFTA, Mexican dairy farmers faced rapid rural change in a highly competitive international
market (McDonald 323). Because of this rapid change, many of these farmers had to invest in
regional dairy market corporative, resulting in cutting down middlemen and joining ventures.
Which eventually started to leave many workers out of work. Guadalupe Rodriguez Gomez, who
has a five year period of fieldwork and historical research in Los Altos de Jalisco, examines the
struggles dairy farmers have been enduring since the 1990s. He writes that farmers who were
unable to produce and be efficient about it should stop farming and abandon

Leaving The Eu Case Study
Introduction
On Thursday 23rd June, 2016, the UK held a vote on whether to leave or remain within the
European Union. The decision made as a result of the vote was to leave and subsequently the
SMEs located within the UK were left to consider what challenges and opportunities could emerge
from this monumental event that was dubbed by the media Brexit . They realised that by voting to
leave the European Union, the UK will face serious consequences which could present challenges in
facilitating localised and globalised entrepreneurship opportunities (Chalmers and Menon, 2016).
When Theresa May triggered Article 50 in March, 2017; she ruled out any hope of the government
the deadline for Brexit. She expressed that she is determined to make ... Show more content on

Whilst not being outside the EU does not mean that the UK will be excluded from the single
market, it would be within the UK s best interest to negotiate a favorable trade agreement.
Exclusion will not be a barrier to trade but rather an inconvenience, that if approached strategically
could enable the UK to broker a unilateral free trade policy that allow for speedier negotiations
with other countries outside the EU. Possible tariffs on exports to the EU could be a challenge
however the upside is that there is an opportunity to trade with other countries.
According to an government commissioned review conducted by industry chief JГјrgen Maier,
Brexit could put the UK at the forefront of technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D
printing, augmented and virtual reality (Monaghan, 2017). The 246 page review contains a detailed
plan of of measures that will boost UK growth and productivity through the manufacturing sector
which will increase exports and earning potential, ushering in the 4th industrial revolution worth
over ВЈ455bn over the next decade (Monaghan, 2017).
Human Resources Brexit could alter the dynamics of the relationship with the rest of the world as
the EU is one of the world s largest markets comprising of ВЈ11 billion worth of trade stemming
from its advanced technologies and highly skilled educated workforce (Baldwin and Lopez
Gonzalez, 2015).

First, both R charts show subgroup ranges that are within the control limits, which suggests that
the variation between subgroups is consistent. However, we can clearly see from the X bar chart
for finger height that this process is not in control. Moreover, this seems to be a substantial
problem, as these limits are violated frequently. Exhibit 5 shows the graphs for finger height and
pod weight in each shift. The pod weight graphs for Shift A, B and C shows that processes are in
control. Finger height graphs for shift B shows that process is out of control as several points
fall outside of the control limits. Finger height shift A and C are in control but many points are
close to upper control limits in the X bar charts. From this analysis we conclude that the process
involved in finger height is problematic and should be optimized before moving forward on
analysis of other parts of the overall process. The regular violation of control limits may point to a
significant contribution to overall quality control rejections. III. Quality Check Type of Defects

The Meaning Of Figurative Language In Debt By Sara Teasdale
2. The speaker in the poem Debt is the author, Sara Teasdale. By what she is saying, one can infer
that she cannot commit to the person who loves her, and vies for the person who is unattainable.
The rejection of the person who doesn t love her may motivate Teasdale to love harder and become
more obsessed with gaining his attention.
3. Teasdale is trying to almost apologize to the person who loves her deeply because she cannot
feel the same for him, instead loving the person who pays her no attention. If she embraced the love
of the person who gave it to her, there would be no internal conflict, thus the poem wouldn t exist.
4. The title of the poem, Debt, is significant to how Teasdale feels about her admirer, indebted. She
implies that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of sensory imagery used in Debt is never gave my spirit wings. Spirit and wings
could be both aurally and meaning rich because Teasdale uses them to illustrate a scene of how
she is unhappy with how she feels with her suitor. Because she uses wings, the reader can infer
that Teasdale feels trapped because her former suitor wants her to reciprocate his feelings.
Moreover, in the second stanza, the lines I owe the little open gate that led through heaven s
wall appeals to the readers minds, painting a picture of what Teasdale feels as if she owes to the
person she contends for. By saying that she owes the little open gate, she depicts a scene where
Heaven, or in this case, everything she can give, as blocked off and closed off. Teasdale desires
for it to be portrayed this way because it allows the reader to infer that she is willing to sacrifice
almost everything to get the little open gate that led through heaven s wall for the person she

Story Of An Hour And The Interlopers
All stories have emotions. But each story has a different way of showing emotion. The story of
an hour. by Kate Chopin and The Interlopers. by Saki are two such stories. In The story of an
hour. Mrs. Mallard recives news, from her sister, that her husband has died in a train wreck. You
would think that she would be upset but it is the oposite, she seems ecstatic. She later explains
that she is now free from her husbands control. When she abandoned herself a little whispered
word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and over under hte breath: free, free, free!
Whereas in The Interlopers the two men, Georg Znaeym and Ulrich von Gradwitz, who have been
enemies since they were born, get trapped under a tree. While under the tree decide to become

Vibration transmission has been reported to cause back problems because of tissue failure or from
metabolic interference, or a combination of both.
Vibration occurs in all moving bodies and tractors are no exception. It results from the interaction
of the vehicle with the rough terrain and from the power source. The level of ride vibration on
tractors during normal operation frequently exceeds the internationally accepted levels. The
analysis of the ride vibration is a complex issue especially for off road condition, as the vibration
is in category of multi degree of system and cawed by many components, in the system. Operating
speed, surface conditions, wheel air pressure, tire cas stiffness, mounting mechanism of the seat,
cab or body parts cause infirnth variable outcome.
A considerable amount of time and energy has been spent in minimizing this vibration problem.
Suspended seats fitted to most tractors reduce the vertical component of vibration, but the levels are
still undesirably high and there is little potential for further improvement using this technique. A
further reduction in the vibration level may be obtained by introducing wheel suspension, but it
makes the system complicated and costly. Cab suspension is another method of

Choices Of A Separate Peace
In the book A Separate Peace, there were many characters that made very important choices. These
choices decided what happened in the book as the story went along. But, there was one choice
that influenced most of the book. That choice was made by Gene Forrester, an intelligent,
introverted, and somewhat athletic teenageer. This choice was made in the summer of 1942,
during the unforgiving times of World War 2. Gene, the main character of this story, was sent to
the Devon School, which is a very good prep school located in the U.S. state of New Hampshire.
When he arrives at this school, he meets his new roommate Phineas. Phineas is a very handsome,
popular, and athletic young man. They spend time together and become best friends . Later,

Long Grove Company s Mission Essay
Long Grove Confectionery Company founded by John and Heidi Mangel started the company
as a retail business in 1975. Locating in Long Grove, IL, the original Long Grove Confectionery
was a retail shop and candy kitchen that was housed in a nostalgic replica of a red schoolhouse.
After a successful ten years, Long Grove Confectionery had outgrown a small kitchen and
moved its production to a 25,000 square feet facility in Buffalo Grove, IL. Shortly after that
transition, Long Grove Confectionary added another 60,000 square feet which increased its
total size to 85,000 square feet in order to meet the rising demand from its retail and wholesale
customers. In June of 2013, Long Grove Confectionery Company was sold to Craig Leva; the
president and owner of a Chicago based chocolate company Arway Confections, Inc. With the
expertise of Craig Leva, Long Grove Confectionery Company was able to stay alive through its
hardships in 2013 when John and Heidi Mangel had retired. Today, Long Grove Confectionery
Company s mission is to deliver their customers quality products with a sense of pride,
friendliness, warmth, and outstanding customer service. Introduction Sales Tactics On my visit to
Long Grove Confectionery, the factory tour was led by Jane, a salesperson in the outlet store of

Birth Control For Teenage Girls
Most people know of the common forms of contraceptives such as the pill, IUD, or condom. What
many people don t know is that there are more forms of contraceptives than just those. Teenagers
tend to rely on the more common ones like the pill or condom but some do use the others. The
most common contraceptive for teenage girls is the Oral Contraceptive Pill (OCP) (Committee on
Adolescence) or as it is commonly known, the Birth ControlPill. This form has a 9% fail average

French sculptor Auguste Rodin in 1905. The other, made more than 100 years later, is
T.E.U.C.L.A., a large scale steel sculpturemade by minimalist sculptor Richard Serra. Although it
may seem like these works have more differences than similarities, both emphasize the processes
of their creation and are major movements away from the classical tradition of sculpture.
However, The Walking Man and T.E.U.C.L.A. also differ in several aspects that reflect their
respective artists personal portrayals of modern sculpture. These aspects include: mode of
production, composition and the arrangement of volumes, the play of light and shadow, and visual
experience. Together these elements of formal organization work together to convey meaning in
both of these works. Rodin s deliberate rejection of refinement and disregard for the direct
translation of the unformed to formed in The Walking Man represent the process and spontaneity
of reality, while Serra s use of curvature and aperture in T.E.U.C.L.A. models the spaces people
move through and the perceptive skills they use in life and nature. Although both of these works
are in the round, they are visually and compositionally very different. The Walking Man is a bronze

why manufacturers are putting toy guns that are made realistic, and that back in the days toy guns

All guns are brought in from different countries, Asia, China, North America and Europe. The

Chromatography Essay
Chromatography is a separation technique in which the mixture to be separated is dissolved in a
solvent and the resulting solution, often called the mobile phase, is then passed through or over
another material, the stationary phase. The separation of the original mixture depends on how
strongly each component is attracted to the stationary phase. Substances that are attracted strongly
to the stationary phase will be retarded and not move alone with the mobile phase. Weakly attracted
substances will move more rapidly with the mobile phase.
Liquid chromatography is an analytical technique that is useful for separating ions or molecules

The compounds are separated by collecting aliquots of the column effluent as a function of time.
Conventional Liquid Chromatography is most commonly used in preparative scale work to purify
and isolate some components of a mixture. It s also used in ultra trace separations where small
disposable columns are used once and then discarded. Analytical separations of solutions for
detection or quantification typically use more sophisticated high pressure liquid chromatography
instruments.
In liquid chromatography, the separator is called the column and consists in most cases of a tube
filled with porous material called the stationary phase. A liquid, called the mobile phase, flows
through the tube between the particles of stationary phase material. A liquid sample is taken from
a mixture to be analyzed and introduced to a part of the system that is at elevated pressure. The
sample is then transported to a separator by the flow in the system.
After the column the separated compounds enter the detector, which measures a physical or
chemical property of each, now relatively pure, compound and creates a proportional electronic
signal. By calibrating with a standard mixture of known compounds, the nature of the compound in

an activity may seem insignificant, it is important that students do what their parents and coaches
ask them to put on as a type of protection. Not only would it protect them while they play, but it
would make the game safe for everyone else. Mouthpieces are a type of protection that are found
in activities such as hockey, football, wrestling and boxing. The soft plastic device is designed so
that it fits the mouthof the player and that it doesn t cause harm in the gums, cheeks, tongue or even
jaw. For example when two players collide with one another, the mouthpiece limits the damage
when the forces of the teeth come in contact with

Residence Fellow Personal Statement
I want to be a residence fellow because of the experiences I have had in residence. In my
personal experience, being unbiased is very important to being a Residence Fellow. In my year
in residence I had issues with my roommates, but my RF was friends with my roommates. Due to
this connection, I feel that when it came to finding a solution the RF was not unbiased and did
not hear my side of the story. I want to be a residence fellow to help solve people s issues in an

The chemicals in the cannabis, or marijuana plant can cause desired psychological and physical
effects on the human body. However, for many years there has been an ongoing debate about the
legality of the drug. In the last few years specifically, the issue has become very popular and has
received a lot of attention from the media. Citizens, doctors, and politicians have many different
views and opinions on whether the drug is dangerous or harmless. Marijuana comes from a natural
plant and causes a euphoric high sensation when consumed. Doctors have proven that the
psychological and physical effects of cannabisdo not pose any substantially harmful threats to the

Containing between 3% and 22% THC, this is the most widely consumed form. All other
preparation of the plant are derived from this base form. Most cannabis plants have either male or
female flowers, while some plants have both. Male flowers are more yellow in color and grow in
the form of elongated clusters along leaves. Female flowers grow in more spike shaped clusters
and remain dark green in color for about a month after blossoming, when the seed ripens (Bonsor).
Smoking is the most common way of consuming marijuana. The dried plant is lit on fire in a
contained method so that the smoke can be inhaled. Another method of consumption is to extract
the oil from the plant and use it to prepare foods, typically baked goods. When ingesting the oil, a
significant amount of THC enters the bloodstream through the stomach and travels to the brain,
where it has a similar effect to smoking it. In other parts of the world, especially in Asia and the
Middle East, cannabis is used to make teas, butters, or pastes that are consumed in various ways
(Goode).
The THC chemical (tetrahydrocannibinol) is the main active ingredient in marijuana that causes its
psychological and physical effects on the body. It mainly affects the communications system in the
brain and body. Scientists have called this system the endocannibinol system (or EC system). The
THC enters the brain and attaches to the cannabinoid receptors. The natural

The Word Voodoo Means Spirit Of The West African
The word voodoo means spirit in the West African. It is a religion practiced by much Haitian
living in Haiti as well as the Diaspora. For the majority of Haitians, it is a symbol of solidarity of
how they stood up and fought for their rights and freedom. For others, it is a painful source of
reminder of how their ancestors were cruelly and unjustly treated by the Europeans.Even though the
slaves were forced to convert to the Roman Catholic Christianity by missionaries, they continue to
practice their faith. As a result, the voodoo is born out of the intermingling of beliefs and practices
of African culture and the Catholicism. Nowadays the voodoo plays important role in different
integrals politically and socially. In 1676, when the French colonized this Island, they possessed
vast land, fields, pastures and garden. They needed cheap labor for the grueling work, especially in
those sugars plantations. The slave system has already existed in the 16th century.
Upon their arrival, the owners stripped them of their fundamental human rights. They exploited
their skills and forbade practicing their traditional beliefs. The Europeans look down on African
beliefs as primitive and savage. They did not accept those beliefs as a genuine religion. As a result,
they baptized those poor souls as real Christians. Those slaves continued to practice their faith at
their peril. If they get caught, they were punished by lashing, imprisonments, and sometimes death.

Young And Immature In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet, the star crossed lovers , do not have real love at all (Shakespeare). They are
too young to have true love, instead it is just based off looks. If they are older they might
understand what love really is. Since they are young and immature they rush into decisions they
make. They also take drastic measures in the decisions and how to handle themselves. They are
young and immature, and this is why their story ends the way it does, in complete tragedy.
Romeo loves with his eyes, but he does not love with his heart. He is too immature to stay true to
one girl if there is another girl that is more beautiful. Romeo meets Juliet and says to Friar

When Romeo tells Friar Laurence . . . but this i pray, / That thou consent to marry us today Friar
knows it is very immature, but only does it to possibly end the feud between the families (II, iii,

instead they just get married. If they would just wait to find a good time to maybe talk to their
parents about it, that would be the mature thing to do. Romeo also has immaturity not in love, but
in revenge. After Tybalt kills Mercutio, Romeo immaturely goes and gets Tybalt. Most of us would
do this, but it is still immature. Romeo should just wait for the Prince to give Tybalt his
punishment and everything would be fine. Instead Romeo goes and kills Tybalt, and puts his own
life in jeopardy. If Romeo would be mature and think about these things, the Prince would not
banish him to Mantua and he could still see Juliet and be with his

amino acids were produced; the building blocks of proteins.

In this hypothesis a scientist by the name of Dan Luo believes that clay hydrogels provide a way

Rufus Stillman House
For the critical essay assignment I specifically chose the building called the Rufus Stillman House.
The House is located in Litchfield, Connecticut and was built in 1950 by the architect Marcel

They became acquainted when Breuer s work of his demonstration housethat was on display in a

Breuer to design a modern house for their property in Litchfield. The Stillman House was the
resulting structure.
The structure was built in 1950 and is known as Stillman House I. The design of the house
brought together the mix of modern style and Colonial Revival, the house is considered to be mid
century modern style while it was built in a town that is primarily used to Colonial Revival style.
The house contains an outdoor swimming pool with a mural painted by Breuer s friend, Alexander
Calder. The Stillman sold this house, the original, when they moved into the second home that
Breuer built for them, called Stillman II, and then decided to purchase it back and continue to
reside there. Breuer built two other houses for them, along with this one, however, Stillman I

Satan as a Hero Essay
John Milton s Paradise Lost is an epic poem that describes the fall of Satan and the expulsion of

Review Of The Hundred Acre Woods
Once Upon a Time, many years ago their was an enchanted and truly magical place known as
The Hundred Acre Woods. You may have heard of this place before. You may have also heard
about the family that made this place their home. Although, I am almost certain you don t know
the whole story. Let me start of by saying this. Some people think that to be a family you have to
be related by blood, but I disagree with this idea. In my opinion, a family is a group of people
who have unconditional love for each other and will always stick by one another s side, no
matter what the circumstance. The family in which I m referring to are not blood related. I
suppose some people would view them as a group of friends rather than a family . This family
consists of a bubbly bear named Winnie, a tender timid piggy named Piglet, an organized rabbit
named Rabbit, a melancholy donkey named Eeyore, an exuberant tiger named tigger(T I double guh

last but certainly not least, wise owl, named Owl. Many believe that this story, is the story of the
creation of The Hundred Acre Woods. The truth is this family didn t have it as good as you may
think that had it. Before the Hundred Acre Woods came to be the place they called their home,
they had a very challenging, and both physically and mentally taxing life. They worked as slaves

Myopia and Hyperbolic Discounting? Financial Myopia (short sightedness) is a behaviour
observed in individuals where they prioritize short term benefits over long term benefits. Laibson
suggests that individuals are susceptible to mental accounting and, attaching different
psychological values to various types of income and assets and also develop differing attitudes in
doing so. The existence of such nature among individuals could be due to a number of factors, for
example individuals have an approximate age at which they wish to retire and do not want to
carry with them any debts into retirement or work longer than they have to. Myopia has been
subject to study and has been at the centre of different models developed to describe savings and
retirement. A form of myopia is hyperbolic discounting. Hyperbolic discounting refers to the

Ralph Dolgoff and Ronald Feldstein proposed a schema for examining Welfare programs in their

therefore these types of programs are seen as temporary . Residual programmes are basically
seen as a type of back up for the occasions when an individual is unable to meet his/ her needs

Puppies are amazing, special creatures that seem to be born with that unconditional unique quality
of love and loyalty for their humans. Depending on the prospective owner, dogs make the best of
companions, with the potential to love, cuddle and play.
Annually, there are more than 6 million puppies born throughout the United States alone. Similar to
the human newborn, puppies are born without teeth. They also cannot see, hear or smell. They gain
their senses typically between 9 and 12 days old and totally rely on mom during that time.
Not all puppies are lucky enough to have the best start in life, subjecting them to some of the most

My Favorite Incarnation Of Star Trek
Jung and the Archetypes: The Enemy Within
Whoever the hero may be, he or she journeys for us, carries us metaphorically into our darker side,
[...] where the monsters inside of us take on terrifyingly real forms, where our deepest wishes
sometimes are fulfilled. (Leeming 203, 204).
I ve always been drawn to hero quests. One of my favorites is Star Trek, though it isn t a typical
hero quest. The stories of each incarnation of Star Trek are thought provoking explorations of the
human psyche on both societal and individual levels, often taking on contemporary social issues
and setting them in the future with aliens playing the part of the good guys almost as often as
they are the villains. My favorite incarnation of Star Trek is the original series, filmed in the late
1960s. The hero archetype of this series is Captain James T. Kirk, who was both ordinary (born in
Iowa) and extraordinary (youngest Captain in Starfleet history). (Kirk). However, he was not
necessarily always a good man; he cheated on a test that was supposed to show the character of
future commanders by how they handle a no win scenario. (Kobayashi).
Many episodes explored Kirk s darker side, but one episode was very literal, The Enemy Within .

With his landing party stranded on a lethally cold planet, Kirk is split into two Kirks, one evil, and
one good. The good Kirk, weak because he lacks half of his persona, does not know that his evil

In the process of moving from raw material to getting finished goods to customers, products move
around quite a bit. RFID tags use wireless signals and small devices attached to each product. The
information is stored and displayed in a convenient location. This technology allows for more
effective tracking of products as they move throughout the supply chain, resulting in fewer lost
goods and better security (Prance). Tracking products will also allow the company to see how
many components and products are wasted. More information about their supply chains will allow
companies to make more improvements to their logistics systems.
Goods worth over $100 billion are returned to retailers in the United States annually. In fact,
according to Devangshu Dutta, director of a supply chain solutions company, nearly 20% of
everything that is sold in America is returned (Roy). In the past, companies would throw out most
of these products. Now companies are beginning to realize the large losses they suffer because of
these returned products. With reverse supply chains, companies can recycle, refurbish, or reuse
products or components to save millions. Estee Lauder used to throw out almost $60 million worth
of its products every year; after implementing reverse supply chain, the company has lowered its
amount of destroyed products by almost half.

Passion In Medea
Typically, throughout history a tragedy has been defined by containing a male hero who goes
from happiness to misery. Medea is just one example of an Ancient Greek play which actively
rejects this trope. Written in 431 BC by Euripides, Medea is based on the Greek myth of Jason
and Medea wherein Medea is rejected by her husband and resorts to killing their children in an act
of vengeance. It can be argued whether her actions were justified or whether she was acting out of
passion as a fickle , emotional woman. Worthen argues that woman are seen as creatures of passion
whereas men represent the organizing principles of the Greek state: Reason, the law and legitimate

isolation than her exile. The Chorus, a vital part of a tragedy according to Aristotle, describe a

The Mathematics Of Blood Alcohol Concentration
The Mathematics of Blood Alcohol Concentration
As I approached my sixteenth birthday, I began to study for my G1 written test in order to
receive my drivers licence. While doing a practice test, I came across a statistic that stated, In
the United States in 2013, it was estimated that 10 076 people were killed in crashes that
involved one or more drunk drivers and 290 000 people were injured in these accidents . I had
heard a variation of this statistic many times, however I didn t truly grasp the magnitude of these
numbers until I began to reflect on the effects of driving under the influence. As a potential new
driver, I was concerned about the use of alcohol while driving so I began to wonder how toxins,
specifically alcohol, react within our bodies. I also wondered how, or even if, this interaction could
be represented through the use of mathematical analysis.
In my research I discovered for myself a field known as pharmacokinetics, which is a branch of
pharmacology that deals with the interactions of drugs in our bodies. In pharmacokinetics, the
interaction of alcohol with the body can be visually represented using a concentration time graph,
where the concentration can be graphed as a function with respect to time in hours. The
concentration in this case refers to Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC), which is the amount of
alcohol in 100 mL of blood with units, mg/100mL, or often expressed as a percent. BAC is a means
by which doctors can determine a person s

Brainbow Essay
Brainbow is a powerful tool used to visualize microscopic biological systems like cells, tissues
and organelles for the purpose of studies. During histogenesis of the nervous system, neurons
beget neurons as well as glia which proliferate, divide, migrate and differentiate. However due to
their microscopic nature, similarity as well as proximity to each other, tracing their lineages, path
of migration and final destination becomes complex and makes their study almost impossible.
This puzzle was resolved after the discovery of color (green fluorescent) expressing genes
Aequorea victoria (Shimomura et al.1962), which is capable of visualizing cells, tissues organelles
and their interactions (pioneered by Chalfie et al. 1994) based on distinctive... Show more content

Based on this analogy, multiple fluorescent genes can be genetically engineered to express varying
fluorescent proteins making each closely related neuron as unique as possible. One efficient
technique utilized in making a brainbow mouse is the Cre/lox based recombination technique
which yields pattern of protein expression of different colors. It has alternative means like
recombinase mediated DNA excision based/ inversion based both of which combine to produce
about four different combinations of genes compared to other techniques. In the recombinase
mediated DNA excision, three unique FPs are arranged in order along with two pairs of Cre
recombinase recognition site (Lox site) in between two of the FPs in the transgene. Identical
pairs of the two recognition sites can only be detected by Cre. Prior to recombination, the first
color (default) is expressed. After recombination, one of the FPs is expressed from what has
now become a cassette . In the Invertion based brainbow however, homogeneous pair of
recognition sites are placed to face each other. The interspaced DNA is inverted by Cre. With two
FPs aligned anteriorly, the inversion causes one of the FPs to be expressed (Livet et al.

Weena Revealed In The Time Traveler
I Was Surprised that the Time Traveller just left because you figure he would go looking for
Weena. He Said that he would bring Weena back with him to their time and yet he just left. It was
weird he just left for the time machine before he even thought about going after Weena and
bringing her back like he said he would.
I Want to find out if Weena is really dead or not. I mean it never actually mentions he finds her
but still what if she still in the forest. I mean she can t be dead right? If she is one of the main
characters of the story it would be weird to have her die when you just met her not that long ago.
I thought at the end of chapter 10 was a trap and it was. I was surprised I was correct though

The Theory Of Albert Einstein
¬¬Albert Einstein Biography Albert Einstein was a German American theoretical physicist, best
known for developing the general theories of relativity. He is largely considered the most influential
physicist of the 20th century. Earlier Years Einstein was born on March 14th, 1879, in Ulm,
Wurttemberg, Germany, to Herman Einstein, an electrochemical factory manager, and Pauline
Koch, a housewife. They were both Ashkenazi Jews, however they did not practice their religion
(Whitaker). Einstein had one other sister, Maria, who was 2 years younger than him. In 1880, the
Einstein family relocated to Munich, where Einstein s father founded an electrochemical company
(Whitaker). Education and Career Einstein s had a disrupted education, which was a result of his
father s failing business (Whitaker). He attended Luitpold Gymnasium in Munich between the ages
of 10 and 15, exhibiting a keen interest in mathematics, particularly geometry and calculus
(Mannoury). He often stated how he disliked the schools policy of strict memorization, promoting
creative and philosophical thinking. He had a very close relationship with Max Talmud, a medical
student and family friend, who introduced Einstein to further mathematics and philosophy (Mastin).
For a year he was a student at the Cantonal school in Aargau in Switzerland, and at age 17, he
enrolled in the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zurich taking a teaching diploma course in
mathematics and physics (Mastin) After graduating from the

Plasma Membrane Lab Report
The Effects of Temperature and Detergent on the Plasma Membrane
Introduction
The Effects of Temperature and Detergent on the Plasma Membrane
Introduction
The fluid mosaic model developed by S.J Singer and Garth Nicolson in 1972 explains the structure
of the membrane. It shows this through the explanation of the phospholipid bilayer which contains
hydrophobic tails and a hydrophilic heads as well as the peripheral and integral proteins which help
to hold the structure. The fluid mosaic model also says how the membrane is in a fluid form rather
than solid because of the constant movement within the membrane (Biology Online, 2008).
The cell membrane is a semi permeable protective layer which protects the cell from the outside
environment by only allowing in and out of the cell only what is needed in order to survive. The
cells that make up the red beetroot contain a compound called betacyanin which is the cause for the
red pigment of the beetroot (Carter Edwards, 2011). The betacyanin is found within the vacuoles of
the cell and is soluble in water (Cellular membrane structure and function, n.d.). The proteins within
the membrane of the cell denature when subjected to high temperatures which causes the
membrane to break apart allowing the betacyanin within the cell to release causing a red pigment
to release from the beetroot. The higher the temperature and the longer at which the beetroot is
exposed to it, causes more pigment to release ( Beetroot Cell

The Reinforcement of Racial Hierarchies in Morrison s The...
Race and racial hierarchies are reinforced through the proliferation of a predominant, societal, white
aesthetic and through the perceptions associated with physical characteristics. In The Bluest Eye,
Toni Morrison first illustrates the reinforcement of racial hierarchies through the proliferation of a
predominant, societal white aesthetic by recounting passages from the Dick and Janebooks, a
standardization of family life. Next, The Black Arts Movementby Larry Nealdemonstrates the
reinforcement of racial hierarchies through the proliferation of a white aesthetic by discussing how
Black culture, including Black art, is in danger if the white aesthetic is accepted by Black artists.

These books, with their simplistic two and three word sentences, were widely used to teach all
children how to read and suggested that the lifestyle of Dick and Jane was typical and standard.
But, the Dick and Jane lifestyle was certainly not the typical lifestyle for Claudia, Pecola or
either of their families. So, that lifestyle was presumed to be the typical white lifestyle.
Furthermore, the lifestyle of Dick and Jane was obviously viewed as superior to a sad, broken,
difficult family life, similar to what Claudia and Pecola were accustomed, so white lifestyles in
general were viewed as superior. Consequently, exposure to this white aesthetic, especially at an
early age, would create, proliferate and reinforce a racial hierarchy.
In The Black Arts Movement, Larry Neal also discusses how a racial hierarchy is reinforced
through the proliferation of a predominant, societal, white aesthetic. Neal says that, there are in fact
and in spirit two Americas one black, one white. (Neal 2039). Further, Neal discusses the danger of
not counteracting the white way of thinking, trumpeting the need for a Black aesthetic. The motive
behind the Black aesthetic is the destruction of the white thing, the destruction of white ideas, and
white ways of looking at the world. (Neal 2040). Neal s adamancy concerning the need for a Black
aesthetic confirms his belief in the existence and power of a predominant, societal, white

Essay Reflection of the Thought Police vs. Outer Party Game
During the Thought Police vs. Outer Party game, I learned the importance of the value of
independence and freedom. Previous to playing the game, I would consistently wear whatever I
wanted, I would carry my books whatever way I wanted to, and I was allowed to live my own
life. But the game gave me a new perspective, not only on Winston and his hardships, but on my
peers. While engaged in the game, due to the secrecy developed within the tension of ignorance, I
felt paranoid and oppressed. Because nobody knew what role everybody in the class played, there
were underlying tensions that lead to distrust. Personally, I could not trust anybody, not even my
closest friends in the class. I felt like I was always being watched. Being worried... Show more

way out the door. Two minutes later, I came back into the classroom feeling accomplished as if
nothing had happened. The next day, I saw that my name was on the offenders list. Guess what
crime I had committed? The Yellow Ribbon crime! All of a sudden, I did not feel accomplished
after all. At least I know who reported me. That same day, I also forgot to wear anything orange. I
can only imagine how Winston would have felt if he forgot to wear his uniform. Luckily, before I
went to Big Brother s classroom, I stopped by Mrs. Hood s room. I saw Michaela Bailey, a member
of the Outer Party. I felt so fearful because for all I know, he could have been a thought police

Individualism In Rocket Boys And The Glass Castle
Individualism. Like all memoirs and novels, Rocket Boys and The Glass Castle present a lesson
that one may choose to live by. In this case, individualism is an evident factor that relates to both
Jeannette s and Sonny s stories. That is, both protagonists displayed the idea of disregarding their
father s wishes for their future and just going for their own.
In The Glass Castle, despite her father s hope to raise Jeannette until he felt he was ready to let
go, Jeannette made a life changing decision to settle in New York City. There she was able to live
her own life away from the constant bickering between her parents. Before then, Jeannette was
indeed showing signs of being independent such as constructing her own set of braces (Walls 201).
However, it wasn t until she physically moved out that it was clear she had become her own person.
For example, the day Jeannette had presented her father with a Christmas present. As her mom had

Bullying Is The Job Of Parents And Schools
Bullying is when you force someone to do something they do not want to, and it can cause stress
or then leads to suicide in some cases. In Schoolyard Bullies by Stephanie Simon, prosecutor
James Backstrom maintains school bullies should go to jail. However, I do not think bullies
should go to jail, because there are different degrees of bullying. Some bullies are victims, and
sending bullies to jail does not cure them. Stopping bullying is the job of parents and schools.
Parents play a key role in preventing and responding to bullying. Parents should recognize the
warning signs that the child is involved in bullying. Children could be being bullied, bullying
others, or witnessing bullying. Although these signs could signal other issues, parents should
talk to their children if they display any sort of behavioral or emotional changes. Many times
children won t ask for help, so it is important to know what to look for. If the child is at
immediate risk of harming himself or others, parents need to get help right away. Just sending
the children who are bullies to go to jail, and doing jail time are not a good way to correct
children s behaviors. I understand the rationale . . . , but incarceration is a fairly big stick, says
Susan Limber, a bullying expert at Clemson University. You can get the same payoff with a lot less
drastic measures (Simon 2). Moreover, if the children go to jail, they might not change their mind,
even though their behavior will be

The Strange Death Of Silas Deane Summary
Studying history can be an active, often arduous process, dependent on making assumptions with
the evidence available and proving those assumptions to be correct or otherwise. But it can also be
an easy task if done incorrectly, one of cutting corners and assuming falsehoods to be true for the
sake of convenience. This is the way that many historians, amateur or professional, approach
history. Not only does this approach exclude any possibility for well constructed conclusions to be
made, it can also leave the populace ignorant of the truth. In The Strange Death of Silas Deane ,
James West Davidson and Mark Hamilton Lytle argue that history is not merely the act of
collecting data rather of making assumptions about the data through the use of countless rhetorical
questions, paragraphorganization, and a sardonic tone.
The Strange Death of Silas Deane retraces the story of Silas Deane, an early American politician,
and the events that led up to his death. The authors begin by revealing the conclusion that most
historians have made about the case: Deane committed suicide. Then, they steadily disprove that
conclusion with a myriad of facts and interpretations. The essay provides a thorough recount of
Deane s life and argues that Silas didn t commit suicide rather, he was murdered. To give weight to
this hypothesis, the authors draw from reserves of knowledge about Deane and his closest friend,
Edward Bancroft. After investigating Bancroft s life and his relationship with

Divergent Movie Analysis
Introduction: Divergent is an action film directed by Neil Burger. This film takes place in
Chicago, which is placed in a futuristic world where society divides people into five factions
based on their personalities. As each person grows up and becomes an adult they have to choose a
faction which they will stay in for the rest of their lives. Beatrice Prior is the main character in
Divergent and she changes a lot throughout the film, starting off as not knowing who she is and
why she isn t like everybody else. To finding out and learning who she is and becoming more
confident in herself. The director uses a variety of different film techniques including close ups,
and wide shots to show how Tris is feeling, and how she is changing throughout Divergent.
Paragraph 1: At the beginning of the film, Tris is very quiet and naive. She was born into the faction
Abnegation, they live a simple life, selfless, dedicated to helping others, this tells us that Tris s
life isn t exciting and she was born to put others before herself. When Tris is in her room, getting
ready for the choosing ceremony where she will get the chance to choose a new faction, the
director uses an over the shoulder shot to show her reflection in the mirror. Tris s face looks very
nervous and scared as to what faction she will choose and what it will be like. This helps the
audience understand that she is quite anxious for a new changeand wonders if she is still a part of

The Hippie Counter Culture
Drugs are bad. That s what has been the publicly correct view for ages. Yet we say this while
sipping a cup of tea or coffee. That s because instead of saying drugs are bad because we actually
think so, we say it because of what we associate with drug use. In the latter half of the 1900s there
was a very obvious split in between those who would use drugs and those who would shun the
idea. In 1971 U.S. President Richard Nixon named drugabuse as public enemy number one in the
United States and declared the War on Drugs . But, without this drug use, many of the wonderful
things we have just would not have existed in the way they do now.

Iran And The Iranian Hostage Crisis
In 1979, the Iranian hostage crisis would occur; this event would damage and sever ties between

that would only further isolate themselves from western powers and more specifically the US. It
would be another 30 plus years before Iranwould seek out the US and have a conversation between
the two countries; leading to what might be a possible change in policy for a country that has been
isolated from the international stage.

Former President Ahmadinejad set Iran back years by putting Iran into extreme isolation from the
international community. His continued badgering with the international community, eventually
lead to a nuclear stand off with world powers. With what seems to be the Ayatollah s blessing,
President Rouhani has so far shown promise to ease the country s relations and assume a solution
on the nuclear issue. For Washington, meanwhile, the election offered stark confirmation that its
strategy is working, at least to a point. The outcome confirmed that political will for a nuclear deal
exists within the Islamic Republic. In other words, the path out of isolation and economic crisis is
perilous, but Iran s new president, who has sometimes been dubbed the sheikh of diplomacy, may
just be the right man at the right moment to walk it. (Maloney, 2013)
If President Rouhani can bring his country out of sanctions, resume oil exports and trade, they can
become a functioning country again. Although, there is a slim chance that Iran doesn t continue to
support terrorist organizations and continue nuclear enrichment in some capacity. As long as
President Rouhani remains president, it is expected that he will do as much as possible to continue
to further his country and bring them out of isolation with the world and specifically the west.

  • 2. Areas that Could Be Improved and Avoided in Future Studies... In 2010 a study was published by Phyllis D. Morgan, Joshua Fogel, Indira D. Tyler, and John R. Jones titled Culturally Targeted Educational Intervention to Increase Colorectal Health Awareness among African Americans. This study will be examined following an objective critique of the research conducted and reported. This analysis will show areas that could be improved and avoided in futurestudies and reports. This study was conducted to increase colonoscopy screening for colorectal cancer (CRC) in African Americans as well as increase knowledge of CRC and decrease cancer fatalism. This study did clearly state the four study objectives based off of their literature review. The literature review showed several studies with increased ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The authors continued with the study by allowing a larger immediate intervention group and a dramatically smaller delayed control group than envisioned. The delayed control group was only 8% of the total participants in this study. The authors provided a concise explanation of the differences in the immediate intervention and the delayed control group. The data analysis stated they used descriptive statistics for the sample data obtained. The results as described by the author did have several possible unidentifiable errors particularly in the control group. The results were discussed with relation to their objectives and the literature review however the analysis was highly focused on the success of the study and only slightly addressed the limitations of such a small control group in proportion to the immediate intervention group. The authors went in depth on the ethical consideration and justification for continuing with the study with the uneven participant groups. The conclusion of the study demonstrated the authors confidence in the cultural targeting of education for CRC and the resulting increase in colonoscopy in African Americans. This study was conducted in a reasonable manner and the limitations were clearly outlined by the author. However the results ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Information Has Become An Invaluable Resource Information has become an invaluable resource. In modern society, it is necessary to be able to send and receive data quickly in order to keep up with the rest of the world. With so much technology at our fingertips, it is almost unheard of for someone to be without a device that can connect the Internet. The technology that allows these devices to communicate with one another is known as the Internetof Things. Because of this concept, people are now able to exchange information faster than ever before. The idea of machines being able to communicate with each other has been around since the early 1800s. The telegraph, invented in the 1830s, became the first landline deviceable to transmit and receive messages over long distances.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This data can be analyzed and used to improve people s lives. IoT Applications in 2016 IoT Analytics https://iot analytics.com/top 10 iot project application areas q3 2016/ One of the most significant applications of IoT in society involves the media and entertainment industry. In 2014, the industry was the third fastest growing in terms of devices with IoT connections, according to a report by Verizon Communications. More and more consumers are using devices that can connect to the Internet, and are therefore being exposed to the content put out by businesses. Because the industry already has most of the resources necessary to implement IoT, businesses can gain valuable information on their customers. Businesses can use this data and analyze it in order to deliver their advertisements in a way that is more tailored to the consumer. Using a customer s location, behaviors, preferences, and demographics helps businesses personalize this content so that the advertisement will be more likely to gain the viewer s interest. With all the digital and mobile devices being used, the IoT has plenty of room to grow in this industry. (EMarketer) In addition to media and entertainment, the Internet of Things is also helping to improve the transportation and logistics industry. It is crucial for businesses to have current, updated data on hand for them to succeed in these areas and be productive as a company. The IoT can improve this by giving businesses ... • 4. Effects Of The North American Free Trade Agreement We have been seeing in class about the neoliberalism reform in Latin America through out the years and some of its implications it has had in this region. For my paper, I will go further into the effects that neoliberalism reform had in Mexico. My paper will focus on the effects the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) had specifically on Mexican workers, which will provide further information and understanding as to what has been presented in class. In January 1994, the NAFTA free trade deal was signed into effect by president Bill Clinton, Mexican president Carlos Salinas, and Canadian Prime Minister Jean ChrГ©tien. The main purpose for this agreement was to make trading more efficient between these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... McDonald explains how, under the neoliberal policies, farmers are expected by the government to compete with the global economy with little government intervention. (McDonald 321) Small and large farmers are faced with many problems that have to do with globalizing Mexico s economy. The dairy industry in Mexico is organized into a three tiered production and process system and during this time each market level prices increased. This made farmers very upset since the price of milk was too low given the production cost. They also felt like that middleman were exploiting them because they were not getting paid for their work or being paid late. Many farmers started seeing their cows now not as a form of money but more of an expense. Under NAFTA, Mexican dairy farmers faced rapid rural change in a highly competitive international market (McDonald 323). Because of this rapid change, many of these farmers had to invest in regional dairy market corporative, resulting in cutting down middlemen and joining ventures. Which eventually started to leave many workers out of work. Guadalupe Rodriguez Gomez, who has a five year period of fieldwork and historical research in Los Altos de Jalisco, examines the struggles dairy farmers have been enduring since the 1990s. He writes that farmers who were unable to produce and be efficient about it should stop farming and abandon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Leaving The Eu Case Study Introduction On Thursday 23rd June, 2016, the UK held a vote on whether to leave or remain within the European Union. The decision made as a result of the vote was to leave and subsequently the SMEs located within the UK were left to consider what challenges and opportunities could emerge from this monumental event that was dubbed by the media Brexit . They realised that by voting to leave the European Union, the UK will face serious consequences which could present challenges in facilitating localised and globalised entrepreneurship opportunities (Chalmers and Menon, 2016). When Theresa May triggered Article 50 in March, 2017; she ruled out any hope of the government the deadline for Brexit. She expressed that she is determined to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whilst not being outside the EU does not mean that the UK will be excluded from the single market, it would be within the UK s best interest to negotiate a favorable trade agreement. Exclusion will not be a barrier to trade but rather an inconvenience, that if approached strategically could enable the UK to broker a unilateral free trade policy that allow for speedier negotiations with other countries outside the EU. Possible tariffs on exports to the EU could be a challenge however the upside is that there is an opportunity to trade with other countries. According to an government commissioned review conducted by industry chief JГјrgen Maier, Brexit could put the UK at the forefront of technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, augmented and virtual reality (Monaghan, 2017). The 246 page review contains a detailed plan of of measures that will boost UK growth and productivity through the manufacturing sector which will increase exports and earning potential, ushering in the 4th industrial revolution worth over ВЈ455bn over the next decade (Monaghan, 2017). Human Resources Brexit could alter the dynamics of the relationship with the rest of the world as the EU is one of the world s largest markets comprising of ВЈ11 billion worth of trade stemming from its advanced technologies and highly skilled educated workforce (Baldwin and Lopez Gonzalez, 2015). However, we can clearly see from the X bar chart for finger height that this process is not in control. Moreover, this seems to be a substantial problem, as these limits are violated frequently. Exhibit 5 shows the graphs for finger height and pod weight in each shift. The pod weight graphs for Shift A, B and C shows that processes are in control. Finger height graphs for shift B shows that process is out of control as several points fall outside of the control limits. Finger height shift A and C are in control but many points are close to upper control limits in the X bar charts. From this analysis we conclude that the process involved in finger height is problematic and should be optimized before moving forward on analysis of other parts of the overall process. The regular violation of control limits may point to a significant contribution to overall quality control rejections. III. Quality Check Type of Defects (exhibit 4) and Reported Defect Rates (exhibit 5) suggests that the output quality of R2 has declined. • 8. The Meaning Of Figurative Language In Debt By Sara Teasdale 2. The speaker in the poem Debt is the author, Sara Teasdale. By what she is saying, one can infer that she cannot commit to the person who loves her, and vies for the person who is unattainable. The rejection of the person who doesn t love her may motivate Teasdale to love harder and become more obsessed with gaining his attention. 3. Teasdale is trying to almost apologize to the person who loves her deeply because she cannot feel the same for him, instead loving the person who pays her no attention. If she embraced the love of the person who gave it to her, there would be no internal conflict, thus the poem wouldn t exist. 4. One example of sensory imagery used in Debt is never gave my spirit wings. Spirit and wings could be both aurally and meaning rich because Teasdale uses them to illustrate a scene of how she is unhappy with how she feels with her suitor. Because she uses wings, the reader can infer that Teasdale feels trapped because her former suitor wants her to reciprocate his feelings. Moreover, in the second stanza, the lines I owe the little open gate that led through heaven s wall appeals to the readers minds, painting a picture of what Teasdale feels as if she owes to the person she contends for. By saying that she owes the little open gate, she depicts a scene where Heaven, or in this case, everything she can give, as blocked off and closed off. Teasdale desires for it to be portrayed this way because it allows the reader to infer that she is willing to sacrifice almost everything to get the little open gate that led through heaven s wall for the person she ... Vibration occurs in all moving bodies and tractors are no exception. It results from the interaction of the vehicle with the rough terrain and from the power source. The level of ride vibration on tractors during normal operation frequently exceeds the internationally accepted levels. The analysis of the ride vibration is a complex issue especially for off road condition, as the vibration is in category of multi degree of system and cawed by many components, in the system. Operating speed, surface conditions, wheel air pressure, tire cas stiffness, mounting mechanism of the seat, cab or body parts cause infirnth variable outcome. A considerable amount of time and energy has been spent in minimizing this vibration problem. Suspended seats fitted to most tractors reduce the vertical component of vibration, but the levels are still undesirably high and there is little potential for further improvement using this technique. A further reduction in the vibration level may be obtained by introducing wheel suspension, but it makes the system complicated and costly. Cab suspension is another method of ... Shortly after that transition, Long Grove Confectionary added another 60,000 square feet which increased its total size to 85,000 square feet in order to meet the rising demand from its retail and wholesale customers. In June of 2013, Long Grove Confectionery Company was sold to Craig Leva; the president and owner of a Chicago based chocolate company Arway Confections, Inc. With the expertise of Craig Leva, Long Grove Confectionery Company was able to stay alive through its hardships in 2013 when John and Heidi Mangel had retired. Today, Long Grove Confectionery Company s mission is to deliver their customers quality products with a sense of pride, friendliness, warmth, and outstanding customer service. Introduction Sales Tactics On my visit to Long Grove Confectionery, the factory tour was led by Jane, a salesperson in the outlet store of more than 20 years. The other, made more than 100 years later, is T.E.U.C.L.A., a large scale steel sculpturemade by minimalist sculptor Richard Serra. Although it may seem like these works have more differences than similarities, both emphasize the processes of their creation and are major movements away from the classical tradition of sculpture. However, The Walking Man and T.E.U.C.L.A. also differ in several aspects that reflect their respective artists personal portrayals of modern sculpture. These aspects include: mode of production, composition and the arrangement of volumes, the play of light and shadow, and visual experience. Together these elements of formal organization work together to convey meaning in both of these works. Rodin s deliberate rejection of refinement and disregard for the direct translation of the unformed to formed in The Walking Man represent the process and spontaneity of reality, while Serra s use of curvature and aperture in T.E.U.C.L.A. models the spaces people move through and the perceptive skills they use in life and nature. Chromatography Essay Chromatography is a separation technique in which the mixture to be separated is dissolved in a solvent and the resulting solution, often called the mobile phase, is then passed through or over another material, the stationary phase. The separation of the original mixture depends on how strongly each component is attracted to the stationary phase. Substances that are attracted strongly to the stationary phase will be retarded and not move alone with the mobile phase. Weakly attracted substances will move more rapidly with the mobile phase. Conventional Liquid Chromatography is most commonly used in preparative scale work to purify and isolate some components of a mixture. Analytical separations of solutions for detection or quantification typically use more sophisticated high pressure liquid chromatography instruments. In liquid chromatography, the separator is called the column and consists in most cases of a tube filled with porous material called the stationary phase. A liquid, called the mobile phase, flows through the tube between the particles of stationary phase material. A liquid sample is taken from a mixture to be analyzed and introduced to a part of the system that is at elevated pressure. The sample is then transported to a separator by the flow in the system. What is Financial Myopia and Hyperbolic Discounting? Financial Myopia (short sightedness) is a behaviour observed in individuals where they prioritize short term benefits over long term benefits. Laibson suggests that individuals are susceptible to mental accounting and, attaching different psychological values to various types of income and assets and also develop differing attitudes in doing so. The existence of such nature among individuals could be due to a number of factors, for example individuals have an approximate age at which they wish to retire and do not want to carry with them any debts into retirement or work longer than they have to. Myopia has been subject to study and has been at the centre of different models developed to describe savings and retirement. A form of myopia is hyperbolic discounting. Residual programmes are basically seen as a type of back up for the occasions when an individual is unable to meet his/ her needs through the intuitions regarded as responsible for these needs. Another characteristic of residual or minimalist programmes is that the programme should be withdrawn as soon as the individual is able to once again utilize the family and market economy to acquire their needs. The Conditional Cash Transfer Programme CCTP, exemplifies these characteristics and so is a residual or minimalist programme.. This is so because its main purpose is to provide temporary food assistance to vulnerable persons and families with limited or no income. One condition of this service is that the recipient of the service has to undergo skills training which facilitates gainful employment. This condition is stipulated in order to facilitate recipients gradually moving off the programme. The stories of each incarnation of Star Trek are thought provoking explorations of the human psyche on both societal and individual levels, often taking on contemporary social issues and setting them in the future with aliens playing the part of the good guys almost as often as they are the villains. My favorite incarnation of Star Trek is the original series, filmed in the late 1960s. The hero archetype of this series is Captain James T. However, he was not necessarily always a good man; he cheated on a test that was supposed to show the character of future commanders by how they handle a no win scenario. (Kobayashi). Medea is just one example of an Ancient Greek play which actively rejects this trope. It can be argued whether her actions were justified or whether she was acting out of passion as a fickle , emotional woman. The Mathematics Of Blood Alcohol Concentration The Mathematics of Blood Alcohol Concentration As I approached my sixteenth birthday, I began to study for my G1 written test in order to receive my drivers licence. I had heard a variation of this statistic many times, however I didn t truly grasp the magnitude of these numbers until I began to reflect on the effects of driving under the influence. As a potential new driver, I was concerned about the use of alcohol while driving so I began to wonder how toxins, specifically alcohol, react within our bodies. I also wondered how, or even if, this interaction could be represented through the use of mathematical analysis. In my research I discovered for myself a field known as pharmacokinetics, which is a branch of pharmacology that deals with the interactions of drugs in our bodies. In pharmacokinetics, the interaction of alcohol with the body can be visually represented using a concentration time graph, where the concentration can be graphed as a function with respect to time in hours. Plasma Membrane Lab Report The Effects of Temperature and Detergent on the Plasma Membrane Introduction The Effects of Temperature and Detergent on the Plasma Membrane Introduction The fluid mosaic model developed by S.J Singer and Garth Nicolson in 1972 explains the structure of the membrane. It shows this through the explanation of the phospholipid bilayer which contains hydrophobic tails and a hydrophilic heads as well as the peripheral and integral proteins which help to hold the structure. The fluid mosaic model also says how the membrane is in a fluid form rather than solid because of the constant movement within the membrane (Biology Online, 2008). The cell membrane is a semi permeable protective layer which protects the cell from the outside environment by only allowing in and out of the cell only what is needed in order to survive. The cells that make up the red beetroot contain a compound called betacyanin which is the cause for the red pigment of the beetroot (Carter Edwards, 2011). The betacyanin is found within the vacuoles of the cell and is soluble in water (Cellular membrane structure and function, n.d.). The proteins within the membrane of the cell denature when subjected to high temperatures which causes the membrane to break apart allowing the betacyanin within the cell to release causing a red pigment to release from the beetroot. The higher the temperature and the longer at which the beetroot is exposed to it, causes more pigment to release ( Beetroot Cell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Schoolyard Bullies by Stephanie Simon, prosecutor James Backstrom maintains school bullies should go to jail. However, I do not think bullies should go to jail, because there are different degrees of bullying. Some bullies are victims, and sending bullies to jail does not cure them. Stopping bullying is the job of parents and schools. Parents play a key role in preventing and responding to bullying. Parents should recognize the warning signs that the child is involved in bullying. Children could be being bullied, bullying others, or witnessing bullying. Although these signs could signal other issues, parents should talk to their children if they display any sort of behavioral or emotional changes. Many times children won t ask for help, so it is important to know what to look for. If the child is at immediate risk of harming himself or others, parents need to get help right away. But it can also be an easy task if done incorrectly, one of cutting corners and assuming falsehoods to be true for the sake of convenience. This is the way that many historians, amateur or professional, approach history. Not only does this approach exclude any possibility for well constructed conclusions to be made, it can also leave the populace ignorant of the truth. In The Strange Death of Silas Deane , James West Davidson and Mark Hamilton Lytle argue that history is not merely the act of collecting data rather of making assumptions about the data through the use of countless rhetorical questions, paragraphorganization, and a sardonic tone. The Strange Death of Silas Deane retraces the story of Silas Deane, an early American politician, and the events that led up to his death. The authors begin by revealing the conclusion that most historians have made about the case: Deane committed suicide. Then, they steadily disprove that conclusion with a myriad of facts and interpretations. That s because instead of saying drugs are bad because we actually think so, we say it because of what we associate with drug use. In the latter half of the 1900s there was a very obvious split in between those who would use drugs and those who would shun the idea. In 1971 U.S. President Richard Nixon named drugabuse as public enemy number one in the United States and declared the War on Drugs . But, without this drug use, many of the wonderful things we have just would not have existed in the way they do now. The hippie counter culture brought with it many new things in large. His continued badgering with the international community, eventually lead to a nuclear stand off with world powers. With what seems to be the Ayatollah s blessing, President Rouhani has so far shown promise to ease the country s relations and assume a solution on the nuclear issue. For Washington, meanwhile, the election offered stark confirmation that its strategy is working, at least to a point. The outcome confirmed that political will for a nuclear deal exists within the Islamic Republic. In other words, the path out of isolation and economic crisis is perilous, but Iran s new president, who has sometimes been dubbed the sheikh of diplomacy, may just be the right man at the right moment to walk it. (Maloney, 2013) If President Rouhani can bring his country out of sanctions, resume oil exports and trade, they can become a functioning country again.
