3. The problem has grown rapidly in recent decades; in the 1990s Congress operated on a pay-as-you-go system but spending has outpaced revenue since. Urgent action is now needed to get the debt under control before it becomes an unmanageable crisis.

2. In Films And Television, There Are Many Different Ways
In films and television, there are many different ways the filmmakers choose to create their films
to be hegemonic or counter hegemonic. For an example, the movie The Blind Side is created to
remove stereotypes focused around race and economic class. In many movies and television shows,
writers challenge stereotypes and use counter hegemony to remove stereotypes around social
groups like raceand economic class.
There are many articles that talk about race and social class in movies. One article is, How The
Blind Side Blinds Us: Post racism and the American Dream by Jeffery Bineham. This article
mentions how the movie fights against racism. The author of this article explains how this film
uses counter hegemony to display public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within the movie The Blind Side there are many different ways that the film writers challenge
hegemonic beliefs. For example, one of the main characters in the movie is an upper class
southern white woman. The women adopted a low class large black man, which represents the
removal of stereotypes around upper class southerners being racists towards blacks. The women s
friends challenged her with stereotypes comments. The friends comment saying that she should not
be taking in any black men into her house. They say he is going to steal her belongs to sell them
because he is a poor black man, which reinforces the stereotypes around poor black men. There are
racial and economic class stereotypes in the south because of the southern history of slavery. The
woman removes the stereotypes with her acts in the movie, which shows how the movie represents
counter hegemony.
The Blind Side represents counter hegemony in many different ways. Following the example
previously stated the filmmakers remove the stereotype of black people are only good at sports . In
the movie, the high class, white women adopted the low class black man. The man was
recruited to play football by the high school coach, and then by colleges. He was a large black
male, which fits the stereotype of black football players. The movie shows the stereotype
representing that he is only good at football and not academics. His grades were very low, and he
was told he wouldn t get into college. He proved this

3. Women In Defense Of Our Daughters By Mike Pence
As refreshing as it is to see the support against this disgusting, offensive bigot, there s something
about these statements that s bothersome to me. All of them are in support of our daughters , or
our wives . These responses aren t in defense of women, they re in defense of their women. Mike
Pence is only offended as a husband and father, not as a human being. Do these men know that
women are also human beings? That we don t require the our in front of our names to have value?
I m more than a daughter. I m a person with value even outside of my relationship with men. We
are more than sisters. We are more than wives and mothers and grand daughters and cousins and
nieces. Having a woman in your life should not make you more prone to

5. Should Flag Desecration Be Allowed
Protesting is one of the many freedoms of being an American citizen. Although there are
freedoms, I believe flag desecration shouldn t be allowed as a form of protest. Flag desecration
should not be allowed because it is very disrespectful toward our veterans and our country, and it
shows how you abuse your rights and freedoms as a citizen. Veterans fight and die for the freedoms
and rights that the people of the United Stateshave which is why one should never disrespect an
American veteran. Veterans fight for that flag everyday of their lives because war sticks with them
forever. If you are disrespecting the American flag, then you are disrespecting our veterans. Flag
desecration can affect some veterans and hurt them a lot. When they realize they fought for and
protected people that don t give anything back to them but disrespect, it can hurt a lot. Flag
desecration not only shows disrespect towards our veterans, but it shows disrespect towards our
whole country.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

country as a whole. Our country has gone through a lot of hard times in the past that considered
flag burning like the Civil Rights movement or the Vietnam War. I believe that if you are a citizen
of the United States and you are given rights and freedoms, then you shouldn t disrespect the
people that allow you to have those freedoms and rights. It also disrespect our country because it
makes us look bad as a whole to other countries out there like Russia and middle eastern countries.

6. Narrative Essay On Horse Racing
Horse racing Ever since I was seven I had a passion for riding horses. I would beg my grandma to
go ride horses. Then when I turned eleven I asked my grandma if I could become a jockey at first
she was shocked then the next day she said to go saddle this horse so I can begin my training in a
training saddle for racing. I was so excited I was determined to prove my grandma wrong. I always
wanted to keep the tradition going in my family, if I went through with it I would be the 4th
generation jockey in my family on my dad s side.
My grandma had to evaluate me and see if I can hold a horse at a fast pace for a certain amount of
time. I thought I did pretty bad but she encouraged me that I was doing good, so I had the

7. The Characterism Of Human Nature In George Eliot s Silas...
In George Eliot s Silas Marner there is one character who exemplifies the realism of human nature
more than any other, and that is Godfrey Cass. He is painted such a way that the very fabric of his
characterization begs for analysis. Eliot analyzes human nature through Godfrey s actions, or lack
of them, and the resulting consequences of his decisions subsequently make Silas Marnera novel
that draws a discussion of what good naturedness means in regards to action versus passivity.
Godfrey s passivity is the driving force of the novel and in true Eliot fashion, it is his passivity
that makes him both a victim and a villain. Godfrey is put forth as a fine, open faced, good
natured young man (Eliot, 23). Immediately contrasted against his brother Dunstan, a spiteful
jeering fellow, who seemed to enjoy his drink the more when other people went dry, Godfrey is
painted a victim of circumstance and bad familial relations. The condition of Godfrey Cass is
one among men who had felt the keen point of sorrow or remorse and whom thanks to their
native human kindness was never driven into brutality (Eliot, 29). Godfrey s own circumstances
are not his fault, rather he is better for them because he has not allowed them to change his
nature. This framework is faulty, and nearly immediately after it is put forth, it is revoked. He is
praised for being unlike his brother, who mocks him for his good naturedness when he says I m so
easy and good natured. You ll take any

Executive Summary:
Recently globalization and internationalization has become more important for multinational
companies. Many companies start to look abroad to expand their business activities as world
become more unified. Managing business operation across the country is biggest challenge
especially for international business today.
In this assignment I would like to discuss about McDonald. The McDonalds Company is one of
the most effective and successful global restaurant chains around the world. They have used very
effective management and worldwide growth strategies to enter new markets and gain a share of
the foreign fast food market. This paper presents how McDonalds has attained this massive success,

Hofstede (2001) defines the five dimensions of cultures as power distance, individualism versus
collectivism, masculinity versus femininity, uncertainty avoidance, and long term versus short term
orientation.
Japan is a high background culture and their method of communication is very difficult. As
compare to the American communication culture. American do not go into the depth details of
their culture. Many international companies often fail to understand the context of a particular
culture as they rush in with their offer in that country. They feel that the strategy which had
delivered them success in their home culture, will replicate in other cultures. P G is a good
example they made the mistake when they tried to sell Camay in Japan. Due to lack of
communication. We have seen many branches of Mcdonald s in different countries because we
also eat the same food as American people eat but it does not mean we also consume the same
content. Because it seems like we eat the same online platform it does not that Japanese people
have same culture and beliefs. It was the first opportunity for McDonalds to expand business in
Asia. So, they decided the use their own culture dishes in manue. Instead of using their home
country strategy. There are other many countries where McDonalds does not exist especially
central Asia (North Korea) has never been admirer a big brands, especially American brands.

9. How Advertising Affects Our Lives
In the 21st century, companies cannot sell any products without advertising. Currently, most
people will not buy anything before watching an ad for said product. Many people are happy
when they see advertising. When people go out, they see advertising is everywhere. Consumers
see it on trains, buses, taxicabs, and even when they drive on the highways .Advertisements are
prevalent on the internet, TV, radio, magazines, and even different kinds of social media.
Promoting ads encourages the economy to develop and helps in creating new jobs. Advertising
is necessary in our life because it has multiple positive aspects that impact us on a daily basis.
Despite their good, there is no way that a person can escape ads, because they are everywhere.
One way that is used the most and is in some ways very controversial is use of sex to sell products.
One of the most successful American businessmen, Leo Burnett, said, Good advertising does not
circulate information, it penetrates the public mind with desires and belief, (Intext citation).. Nike
ads are successful at taking attention by using appeals of font, choice of Jennifer Van Allen,
targeted audience, as well as other rhetorical elements.
According to the Contemporary Reader, most people have heard the old saying; A good picture is
worth a thousand words, (page37). The Nike ad, shows a picture of a girl running on the road, all
alone, with a good stride. On top of the left side of the ad there are three large words with white

10. Vladimir Putin Controversy
Vladimir Putin s Presidency has been successful even though it is riddled with controversy and
corruption starting from his first election, and leading to his decision to invade Ukraine and annex
Crimea. When Vladimir Putin took office in 1991, it started a 16 year run of power, deceit, and
corruption, which has been riddled with controversy. Nevertheless, there is no denying that Russia
has thrived since the electionof Vladimir Putin, economically, politically and militarily. Vladimir
Putin initially took power on December 31, 1999 when Boris Yeltsin designated Putin as the
Premiere of Russia shortly after Yeltsin decided to resign from President of Russia. After a short,
yet successful term as the Premiere, Putin then won 53% of the... Show more content on

In 2013 as Ukraine was negotiating with the European Union, President Putin was also
conducting secret meetings with the president of Ukraine. These secret meetings helped sway
the President of Ukraine to decide against joining the union and striking a deal with Russia for
oil and natural gas. This was the starting point for the Ukrainian revolution in 2014. The
Ukrainian President found refuge in Russia after he was exiled for his decision to join Russia
and not the European Union. Now with Ukraine in disarray, Putin had a new plan; he secretly
sent soldiers into Crimea. Putin saw Crimea as a vital piece of land that could help Russia by
giving them a seaport, which is more accessible to the rest of the world. This would also give
Russia the chance to strengthen their navy by giving them a more direct route to the west in
order to defend themselves from the west. Starting October 2014 reports surfaced that there
were troops in Crimea. Putin and Russia s government denied all claims that the troops were
Russian soldiers. By March 2, 2015, Russia acknowledged that they had sent troops to the border
of Ukraine to protect Russia from any actions towards Russia. By March 16, Russia announced
that troops are in Ukraine and that they held the majority of the government buildings in Crimea.
This sparked the first set of sanctions from the west. Mostly economic, Russia was able to hold
out and not be affected by these sanctions. The second set of sanctions hit their businesses and
many of Putin s friends, which he appointed. This is when Putin started to negotiate with the
west. Crimea then held a vote to see if they would join Russia or stay part of Ukraine. 90% voted in
favor of joining Russia. Putin s controversial and secretive acts had paid off and Crimea is now part

11. Human Trafficking And The United States Essay
Human trafficking doesn t happen in third world countries only. It doesn t just happen to poor
people and it certainly doesn t solely happen to women. It is present here in the USA but it is
hidden, and even worse, so are their victims. They are everywhere yet invisible. They are silently
crying for our help through their eyes and smiles. According to Polaris, ...the prevalence of sex
trafficking in the United States is still unknown, we do know that women, children, and men are
being sold for sex against their will in cities and towns in all 50 states . Human traffickingcan
happen to anyone even to Theresa Flores, the author of The slave across the street ( Sex
trafficking 2015). An average 15 year old American girl, coming from a privileged background and
a respected family became a victim of sex trafficking and through her book, she convinces us that
human trafficking doesn t have a specific demographic.
Theresa was a good catholic girl. Her faith was important to her. She went to mass on Sundays,
her mom was very involved in the community and her dad had a very important job. Her family
was the normal American family. Her dad s job required them to move around a lot and because of
that she never had true friendships. One day her family moved to Birmingham and her life changed

12. Hidden Dangers of ADHD Medications
There are many medications that affect children s health in today s society. Doctors prescribe
lots of medication which can be avoided, when children are properly diagnosed with certain
health problems. Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has impacted many people
with the danger of certain medications which is overprescribed to all ages each year. The
hidden dangers of the medications these doctors are prescribing, is that our children are being
misdiagnosed with ADHD at a very early age, and this is causing many different side effects.
Long term use of these medications can cause severe side effects. The most commonly prescribed
drugs, are Ritalin, Adderall and Concerta, which cause children to have nervousness, appetite
suppression, insomnia and increased blood pressure and heart problems. Also pharmaceutical
companies are well aware of the danger to children and adults that these drugs may cause. The
medications doctors are now prescribing are harming our children greatly. The drug that affects our
children the most is Ritalin. Doctors are providing these medications to children even before they
are properly diagnosed with ADHD. Some critics suggest that some youth are simply immature and
have a lack of discipline, which can lead to being mistakenly diagnosed. When ADHD is properly
diagnosed doctors still gravitate toward medication, when alternative treatments are available to
them. Ritalin is a drug that attack children s nervous system, and is given to

13. Disadvantages Of Polished Axes
The axes comprise the vast majority of GГјlpД±nar polished cutting edge stone tool assemblage.
They are generally pecked or ground with a transverse cutting edges, elongated triangular in
section with tapering, rounded butt; sharpened the symmetrical blade and elliptical sub
rectangular in cross section. Also, they have polished and flat surfaces and no visible wear traces
on blades except few specimens. Some specimens had extensive wear traces, which are may result
of felling trees, carpentry related tasks or cutting, chopping and butchery related tasks. Polished
axes have more advantages than flaked axes because of their polished cutting surfaces. The
symmetrical edges and smooth surfaces penetrate deeper on wood during cutting activities (Bordaz

They have generally with a sharp edge for gouging depressions into rather soft materials such as
woods (Adams 2002, 153). They are rare in archaeological contexts in Western Anatolia as well as
in GГјlpД±nars polished stone tool assemblage. Only 4 specimens identified as chisel (78 81).
There are two common shapes in this group, which is quadrant and elongate shape. The specimens
are vastly elongated rectangular in shape with a sub circular cross section, slightly rectangular in
profile with tapering rounded butt, rounded and smooth faceted sides and symmetrical sharply
faceted blades Also they have fully polished and flat surfaces and no visible wear traces on blades
except one exhausted specimen (77).
The chisels have been probably used for woodworking tasks. They were hafted for gouging with a
wooden or bone mount to use functionally. Mostly all specimens had no wear traces indicate that
they were used only in symbolic meaning. The specimens are mostly complete and their length
varies between 3 7 cm. with the maximum width of 1 3 cm. and the thickness between 0,5 1,2 cm.

14. Essay The Importance of Fallout Shelters
A fallout shelter is a shelter that was used in a time of need. From 1947 to 1991, fallout shelters
were a big hit during the Cold war. The fallout shelter represents the atomic age and how families
got through nuclear attacks. A lot was contributed in the making of these shelters, and they kept
families together. Time and effort to keep America safe is what made these shelters important to
American History. Not only are the fallout shelters a symbol of the cold warand fear, but it also
significantly impacted America because they protected Americans from radioactive debris, gave
America shelter in a time of war, and it reduced casualties.

Along with packing enough material for the time being, a shelter plan is a must (Bomb Shelter
Guide). Before the shelters, the issue of the Cold War and nuclear attack were introduced and it
induced panic ( Kennedy Urges Americans to Build Bomb Shelters ). As the nuclear attack was
seen as a threat to Americans, Cuba had already received nuclear missiles. Cuba s nuclear missile
attack was known as the Cuban Missile Crisis, in which the USSR placed nuclear missiles in Cuba.
This event resulted in the 13 days crisis. The 13 days crisis was tense, and during this time
period, Americans began to stock up on canned foods. Canned food was the only food Americans
shopped for because none of the shelters had refrigeration, and there were no stoves or microwaves

15. Art Reflection Paper
When I visited the Tampa Museum of Art, I walked around looking at all of the beautiful
artwork on display. I chose a piece that stuck out to me and reminded me of the carnivals and
fairs I went to growing up in my hometown with family. Choosing just one piece to write about
was a difficult decision, but I chose to write about Carrousels by Don Jacot. This piece was
created with oil on linen in 1992 and is 50x72 . I believe the subject matter of this piece has to
do with childhood and memories. I noticed in this piece that there were not many people on the
rides or around the picture at all. This interested me, so I decided to look at other artworks he
has created and most of the others are empty as well. I feel this has something to do with him
having an empty childhood, but still has the memories of him going out. He also tends to lean
more towards using the brighter primary colors such as red, blue, and yellow. I figured he chose
these because a child would be more fascinated in something bright and colorful instead of dull and
plain. One of the formal elements that stood out to me the most was color. I chose this because
color is such a big aspect in this piece of work. Blue, red, and yellow are the most used in this
work and are brightly intensified. The vibrant colors caught my eye right away when I saw the
picture. The second formal element that is shown in this picture is line. I feel this element goes
with the picture because there are many geometrical shapes and lines that direct you to certain
aspects. One of the main eye catching features is the Ferris wheel in the background. The wheel
catches the eye because all of the lines in the middle draw attention to it. The tents on top of the
rides in the back, the fence, and poles/bars on the ride are all very clean cut. Overall the lines in
the work lead your eye all around the composition of the piece. Another element that I thought this
picture has is shape. Shape is significant as well because the lines in the picture form these figures.
For example, the lines that are used on top of the ride tents form triangles, which lead back to
shape. This picture includes many geometrical forms all around the work such as the rectangular
benches, the

The Umbrella Widens To Cover Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Rights
The business world is an ever changing environment; there are new laws, regulations, and tax
codes passed all the time that effect how we do business here in America and abroad. It is
important that we keep abreast on those changing laws to protect our companies as well as the
employees that work for us. The last few years have opened up many hot topics of debate when it
comes to rights being extended to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. There is
no shortage of passion, no matter what side you stand on, when it comes to same sex marriage,
transgender bathroom rights, legalized adoption for same sex couples, and non discrimination laws
being extended to cover LGBT individuals. While all of these seem like topics that should not affect
the workplace drastically, that could not be further from the truth. A new decision by the Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Baldwin v. Foxx, extends Title VII s protections
to cover sexual orientation for federal sector employees and may lead the way for courts to
recognize similar protections in the private sector. The EEOC also now maintains that gender
identity is protected by Title VII,2 and some courts have agreed (MuГ±oz and Kalteux, 2016, p.

Designer Babies Designer babies are those babies, who are produced by in vitro fertilization, and

the phrase designer baby was originated from the phrase designer clothing and it is coined by
journalists and not scientists in 2004 (Agar). With the technology of producing designer babies,
people will be able to choose certain characteristics such as the height, color of the eyes, facial

Annexation of Hawaii
John L. Stevens came to the island of Oahu in September 1889, acting as the U.S. Minister to
Hawaii. While his mission in Hawaii was not clearly stated, his political actions on the islands
clearly showed that Stevens thought that the annexation of Hawaii was proper and inevitable.
Stevens held firm beliefs about the future of Hawaii in the hands of the United States. From the
start of his stay in Hawaii, Stevens made it clear whose side he was on in the political war. He
would openly criticize Hawaii s monarchy, and at times would refer to Queen Liliuokalani and her
advisors as incompetent (2). Stevens may have not held anything against the Queen herself or any

either before or after his departure for Hawaii regarding attempts at achieving annexation in the
Hawaiian Nation. (3) Stevens had many reasons of his own to support annexation. When he
arrived in the islands, he saw many great economic and military advantages to having Hawaii
annexed as a state. He realized that Hawaii in itself was a growing industry, soon to be had as a
major sugar producer in the world at the time. Plus, Hawaii offered a huge strategic position,
lying in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, which could serve as a docking point for many U.S.
warships. Stevens himself felt that he was doing good in helping an expanding America grow to
even greater proportions by backing annexation in the islands.
Though the final stages of annexation in Hawaii were violent to a certain extent, Stevens would
have proclaimed that since there was no heavy military action on either side of the dispute, which
the annexation of Hawaii came easily and without unnecessary action involved to obtain his goal.
He would have most likely agreed to the political schemes forced upon the monarchy by those in

22. Music Influence On Music
Music is an art form and cultural activity that has been enjoyed for centuries by many generations
of humans. As time goes on, music preferences change and along with that, the way individuals
consume music also changes. Firstly, looking at my age group; we were born in the 2000 s and
this is also when the Internet had just come out. The internet and the development of other
technologies, facilitated the shift to digital music consumption for this generation. For example,
Spotify is a music streaming service that was released in 2008 and has become very popular
among this generation. Many other music streaming services have followed Spotify such as Apple
Music, as many consumers like to have access to a wide array of songs through the web, which
helps them avoid the inconvenience of having to download all the music. Also, portable music
players such as the iPod Nanoare really enjoyed by people in my age group, as it allows them to
have access to their music from practically anywhere. Finally, another advancement that has
really been enjoyed by consumers in my age group are wireless headphones. Although stereo
headphones have been around since the 1950 s, products like the Apple s AirPods are popular
with individuals in my age group, as many are looking for wireless electronics. Secondly, looking
at my parent s age group, they had many sources of music consumption. My parents listened to
music through cassettes, CDs, and vinyl s through their childhood to young adulthood. Vinyl
records first came out in the 1950 s, about a decade before my parents were born, but they still
spent a lot of time listening to music through vinyl turntables which they had at their homes. To this
day, they have some at my home, due to the amazing sound quality they deliver. Cassette tapes
were also released in the 1960 s, so my parents also listened to them through cassette players. My
father tells me he owned the Sony Walkmanwhen he was younger, and that was the portable music
device of their time. Finally, when CD s came out in the 1980 s, my parents tell me that they used
them a lot and to this day, still use them to play music when in the car sometimes. Also, in terms of
headphones, they used a fair bit of stereo headphones

There is no denying conflict. Everyone faces conflict of some sort in their lives, whether it be an
argument over which sibling gets to sit in the front seat of the car on the way to school, or a
potentially dangerous confrontation that necessitates an immediate reaction. Writers such as Susan
Campbell Bartoletti and Elie Wiesel, who wrote Hitler Youth: Growing Up in Hitler s Shadow and
Nobel PrizeAcceptance Speech respectively, portray such situations. Bartoletti writes about how
one German girl faced conflict during World War Two, and Wiesel shares his personal
experience as a Jew in a concentration camp. Both works show that the most important aspect of
facing a conflict is the way in which a person chooses to deal with it. One could react to conflict
by becoming angry or sullen, shouting or going silent, or simply pouting. None of these
reactions are the best some can even be counterproductive to one s goals. The best way to deal with
conflict is to take a stand for one s beliefs. First off, standing up for one s beliefs creates many

Delivery of Safe Care in Post Laryngectomy Patients 2
Introduction The larynx is a part of the throat which contains vocal cords that resonate as air
passes through them, resulting in our voices. This part of the respiratory system, which lies in
between the tongue and trachea, is also involved with breathing and protection of the trachea from
food aspiration. Several risk factors such as diet, age, excessive drinking or alcohol use and even
acid reflux can increase the chances of developing cancer of the larynx. A growth may occur
anywhere on the tissues of the larynx causing laryngeal caner leading you to have surgery. In many
cases a laryngectomy is done to extract a tumor or growth that may eventually become malignant. It
is important that before, during and after surgery we maintain care for the patient. The purpose is
to optimize the delivery of safe care for post laryngectomy patients.
Scope of problem/Literature findings Cancer of the head and neck are diagnosed each year with
a high incidence of laryngeal cancer. Maddox and Davies (2012) reported that, The estimated

29. Lack Of Reason In Lord Of The Flies, By William Golding
Lack of Reason and Increasing Savagery
Human nature is complex, filled with unpredictability and flaws. As seen in Lord of the Flies, by
William Golding, the darker side of humanity is revealed in times of survival and conflict.
Throughout the novel, the boys on the island become increasingly barbaric and violent when they
are faced with dire situations. Through the escalating tension surrounding the symbolic nature of
Piggy s glasses and its representation of the boys rationality, William Golding conveys the message
that lack of reason brings out the innate savage side of human nature.
Piggy s glasses are symbolic of the boys humane side and their reason. At the start of the novel,
the boys on the island seem to be pleasant people and they understand the importance of starting a
signal fire to be rescued. The boys are rational and are fighting for survival. The glasses are still
in tact; they are going to be used to help the boys create a signal fire. Ralph speaks to the boys,
exclaiming His specs use them as burning glasses! (Golding 40), showing that they want to
return to society because they are using their resources at hand to start a fire and be rescued.
They still have reason due to the fact they try to send a signal for rescue and would rather be
rescued than accept a new life on the island. The glasses are in one piece, symbolizing their
rationality is present and held together at the beginning of their journey. The low tension is among

According to The O.J. Simpson Trial: The Jury One example of ethnicity based jury nullification
was O.J. Simpson. This case was a very high profile case of racial disparity. Because of this it
made the prosecutor and the defense attorney very difficult to find suitable jurors to hear this

cause major issues about racial disparities, but the chances of obtaining a conviction for which he
was could prove impossible.

31. Effects Of Morality And Morality
Memory Effects on Ethics and Morality
Introduction
Memory is one of the essential components of a human being. It affects almost all the aspects
human behavior. Ethics and morality are part of two contemporary factors that affect the human
memory and the subsequent actions in the social domain. It seems that people have lowered
morals in the phase of everyday challenges such that ethical dealings are viewed as a typical
mountain in most situations. In most sectors of the public operation, you find that most of the
problems that are presented there or are linked to lack proper ethics and morality. Well as the action
of the population says that morality is relative and not absolute, I always believe that that there
should be a bar of reference. Additionally, the reason why I considered the topic is due to the
divergent discussion that comes with it in any given forum of discussion. The most critical epithet
in the topic is its need of reinforcement into the society. Talking about this topic will open avenues
for more vibrant and genuine views on the topic. For this paper, I will analyze two articles on
morality and ethics from the psychology today website.

the faculties that make the regulation of the morality in the various situation will be evoked in

32. Stereotypes In Society
Stereotypes are assumptions or generalizations that people think and label a particular person as
belonging to a group based on how they look in terms of gender, race, ethnicity, and other
categories. Stereotypes are a big problem in our society because they have a negative impact and
can be damaging to a person s emotions. Thus, any stereotypeon individuals is viewed as wrong and
in the end, it s us judging one another. I was stereotyped as a thief because some people assumed I
was stealing. As a result, I was affected by this because if they stopped to see what I was actually
doing, they would have seen I was buying a box to give someone a present.
The day I was stereotyped was when I went to a store called Daiso. I was in search of a gift box for
a present I bought my friend. To ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, they affect people s social lives, an emotional state of mind, and how they interact with
their surroundings. I believe that you can t possibly know someone s character just by looking at
their religion, race, or gender. People who like to stereotype are people who enjoy judging others.
On the other hand, people have been stereotyped realize the severity of such an act because after
facing harsh judgment, they remember the lack of confidence and self control it had on them. For
example, in my country, regarding gender stereotypes, women have often been associated as
passive individuals in a household and they are put in the latter category, which means they lack
the roles that men have. Most people believe women should stay at home to cook, clean, and take
care of their children, meanwhile, men should support their family by working and paying the bills.
This stereotype make women strongly depend on their spouse for financial, emotion, and physical
support. As a result, staying home and doing the same thing every single day women gradually
become distant from

33. Fermentation Lab
DISCUSSION
In reference to Figure 1, the results indicated that the liquid medium created through the juice of
strawberries resulted in the highest rates of fermentation. However, while initially at the 5, 10, and
15 minute marks, the rate of fermentation of strawberries was the lowest out of all of the liquid
mediums; from the 15 minute mark to the 20 minute mark, the height of the bubbles rapidly
increased. The second highest rate of fermentation was from the water, which was used as a
constant in the experiment. After the water, it was the grape juice that had the next greatest rate of
fermentation, subsequently proceeded by oranges, and then lemons which had the lowest rates of
fermentation. Each of the rates of fermentation was determined by looking at the height of the
bubbles, in the last 5 minute interval, the 20 minute mark of the lab. When comparing the results to
the hypothesis, it is seen that certain parts of the results do not support the hypothesis. It was
hypothesized that the liquid mediums created by fruits such as grapes, would result in a higher rate
of fermentation. It was then expected to be followed by oranges, strawberries, and lemons
respectively. However, the results show that when strawberry juice was... Show more content on

34. Comparing Plato And Beauty By Hofstadter And Kuhns
Talon Kingfisher Dr. McKeon Art Theory 2 23 February, 2017 Plato and Ion To Plato, the world
and mind set is a mimesis of the true absolute world. That all shapes found by definition here is
transcendent in the realm that is greater and above this reality. When applying this belief of
ideal concepts in forms to our world, Plato then can theorize importance of professions here
based on its direction to those praised forms above. In Art Beauty by Hofstadter and Kuhns, Plato
s written works from 400 B.C. can map out his philosophy on artworks. We particularly find that
Plato creates a distinction between poetry and art works as two different classes. Plato seeks a
higher reality than the imminent one around us, therefore, everything he finds of art and anything
else here in this reality will ultimately be based on its true form. We can find these answers in Ion
when the famed minstrel, named Ion, asks of Plato to explain why he only stays... Show more

In the Republic, Plato centers any form of creating something as poiesis no matter what is being

of creating by us no matter if we technically crafted it or was possessed and forced to make the

rule leaving it similar, but not the same. We can assemble poetry with our minds making it our
media we use; the skill is in the creating process of using the mind to make the words of poetry.
Then there is the knowledge or understanding in how to manipulate the medium. This is the

35. Causes And Treatment Of Chronic Illness
Throughout the past century the world has seen a drastic shift in not only life expectancy but in
quality of life. Medicine has become incredibly advanced and thus life expectancy rates have
increased over the years. However, it must also be recognized that there are now higher rates of
chronic illness. Chronic illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis and heart disease are the
leading causes of disability throughout the United States. As of 2012, about half of all adults 117
million people had one or more chronic health conditions (CDC 2016). People with a chronic illness

In a study conducted by Brown, Sheffield, Leary and Robinson (2003) the researchers tested the
association between social support and levels of pain. The study tested 101 undergraduate
students. The subjects were randomly assigned to one of three groups. The groups were
required to press a cold presser that delivered a small pain and after, rate their pain on a 10 point
scale. Each group was either paired with a friend, a stranger or carried out the task alone. The
study concluded that the individuals who used the cold presser while another person was in the
room, stranger or friend, reported lower levels of pain. Evidently there is a connection between
social support and pain tolerance. This information is extremely important because chronic illness is
essentially a diagnosis of lifelong pain. If social support can improve this pain, these patients
could improve their quality of life.In a study conducted by Lopez Martinez, Esteve Zarazaga and

from a Clinical Pain Unit at a hospital in Spain. The average subject was around 54 years old and
mostly consisted of women. In order to measure the pain within patients, the

The gap between energy consumption and energy generation is gradually increasing and has

conventional energy sources, like fossil fuels, are not fulfilling the energy needs of the developing
world. And, although they are still major energy sources for both the industrial and domestic
sectors of the world s economy, they are also responsible for many problem, such as environmental

The electrical energy method stores electrical energy with the use of batteries. This method is
generally considered the best, most prevalent technique when compared to others. The thermal
energy storage (TES) method, on the other hand, stores energy by changing the internal energy of
materials. There are three types of thermal energy storage; viz., sensible heat, latent heat, and
thermochemical energy storage. These are illustrated in Figure 1 below [1].
Latent heat thermal energy storage (LHTES) is a particularly appealing method due to its having a
high energy storage capacity, with it storing 5 to 14 times more heat per unit volume when
compared to the conventional sensible heat storage method. The latent heat storage method is a
system based on the charging and discharging of heat once a given storage material subject changes
phases from liquid to solid or from liquid to gas. Additionally, the latent heat storage system stores
energy at a constant, or near constant, temperature during the process of changing phases which, in
turn, depends on the characteristic structure of the phase change materials (PCMs).

lost major portions of their territory in North America. The Native Americans had been impacted
due to the fact that their lands were now under the control of the British Empire, an empire which

39. Sensing Nodes in Batteries
Multi hop communication makes use of the fat that a WSN contains a large number of sensing
nodes. So, the sensed data of nodes can be sent to the base station after passing through a number of
nearest neighbor s nodes rather than directly transmitting to it. This strategy, in turn, saves the
energy of the sensing nodes and thus contributes a lot to the battery life of the nodes.
1.3PARAMETERS DEFINIG PERFORMANCE OF WIRELESS SENSORNETWORKS
1.3.1POWER OR ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Power efficiency is the first factor that directly affects the performance of the nodes and hence of
the overall sensor network. For better and desired performance, the nodes of a WSN must be
efficient in terms of power which in simple words means that the duty cycle of the nodes must be
made small [5]. The design considerations must take into account the sleeping mode of the nodes
when there is no activity thereby reducing power consumption and contributing to performance
enhancement. However, the sleep mode of nodes has the main disadvantage that if any of the nodes
remains in the sleep mode for a significant chunk of time, it is likely that communication with
neighbors nodes may come to a halt. Also, a reduced duty cycle for the network nodes leads to
threatening the network reliability. The data as well as the control packets that maintain the routing
and communication among the nodes of the sensor network will also have a delayed reception.
Efficient use of power also increases the battery timing or

However, this deception might be deceived when she tells her son that she wouldn t take my
children in any direction with a criminal like that aloose in it. I couldn t answer to my
conscience if I did. As the story progresses we see how the grandmother did not only led them to
the criminal on the loose but also did not show any mercy towards her own blood and only try to
save herself.
The most important feature for the grandmother was for other individuals to know she was a
lady, which is humorous, due to the fact that besides appearance, she was everything but a lady.
The grandmother is not only selfish because she wants to manipulate Bailey to go to Tennessee,
but also when she directed them to the plantation she had visited when she was younger,
knowing it would delay them and knowing Bailey did not want to make extra stops; furthermore,

41. The Impact Of The Modern American Home On The Environment
The kitchen is one of the most important rooms of the entire house. Compared to other rooms, it
typically has a great deal more built in. Remodeling it is one of the most expensive things you can
do to a house. It also has substantial impact on the environment.
Why does it have so much impact on the environment? Because it is a work horse of a room. It
uses a lot of energy and water to keep everyone fed. A refrigerator is one of the bigger
contributors to electrical usage in your typical home, in part because you can t turn it off. It needs
to be on 24/7.
Doing this room right is one of the better ways to make sure the home is eco friendly. A large part
of that is choosing the right appliances.

The ideal image of the modern American home is rooted in the needs of the post World War 2

family with a full time mom set the standard of expectations in the American housing industry.
But since then, our demographics have diversified. On average, there are few people per house
than there were in the 1950s. Lifestyles have changed and people eat out more than they used to.
It may make no sense to have a kitchen outfitted as if there is a full time mom cooking from

Purpose:
The goal of this proposal is recommend that the school makes east campus while including
Rappahannock hall to no longer be dry residence hall for those twenty one in age and older to try
and decrease the high DUI rate here at CNU.
Summary:
CNU student currently must go off campus to consume alcohol no matter the age leaving them to
find a ride or most of the time, drive. This leaves the students at a high risk of drinking too much
and then driving home from said off campus location. As a twenty one year old individual the law
gives you the right to drink and as college students no matter your affiliation or social openness
students will drink. Some students may end up drinking more than others but in the end a
student will drink in his/her college career and CNU forces students to do this off campus
making things less safe for the individual. At CNU they have such a strict dry residence hall
regulation that it is possible that one time you get in trouble you are kicked out of school. Due to
the regulations students go off campus to a bar or a friends house to consume alcohol. Most
survey recipients say they often drive to said location to drink and then because it is most

they were blowing between .09 .11 slightly above the legal limit but still a DUI. The students when

women. Therefore, the Chinese government officials insist that these measures are necessary to the

I felt that the author presented a pretty fair and factual article but I still felt a little bias on the
author s intentions throughout his writing. The author did present his reasons why China
enacted the One Child Policy and why the Government was rewarding the families that gave
birth to females, but his points on the negatives of China s policy outweighed the pro side of the
One ChildPolicy. An example would be the cases where women would have abortions simply
because the fetus that she is carrying found to be of female gender. This idea is really disturbing
and makes very little to no sense at all. The fact that you would prevent a life from taking place
because of gender is unimaginable and barbaric compared to my American lifestyle. I ended up

feels so.

Ethics and Morals
Morals are the principles on which one s judgments of right and wrong are based. Ethics are
principles of right conduct. These two words are closely related. I think morals and ethics should

immoral actions. The characters simply aren t bothered by some of their bad choices with work
ethics, marriage, and common sense. In the book, good work ethics are poorly disregarded.

Referenced Tests (CRT) and the Norm Referenced Tests (NRT) usage to see why the Criterion
