2. Standard Procedures For Sign Concordance
Standard Procedures for Sign Concordance Study 10.18.2016 Authors: Arielle Crews, Austin Roy,
Alexa Lindauer, Janet Foley, Deana Clifford, Rob Klinger Introduction:
The Amargosa vole, Microtus californicus scirpensis, is a critically endangered rodent, endemic to
the Amargosa Basin near Death Valley, California. This water dependent species persists in a
naturally fragmented wetland ecosystem, that has existed since the end of the Pleistocene
(Neuwald 2010). However, due to California s historic four year drought and anthropogenic
changes, the patchy ecological makeup has been aggravated to extreme limits. The habitat loss
and exasperated fragmentation has drastically altered the wetland community and constricted the
riparian habitat to less than 20km2 (Foley 2013). This regime shift has forced the Amargosa vole
to live in small, isolated populations and has left the species vulnerable to disease (Ott Conn et al.
2014; Hess 1996; Morshed et al. 2005), and the effects of genetic drift and inbreeding (Neuwald
2010). Consequently, the altered hydrology has increased the potential of the voles extirpation with
the one year extinction risk as high as 10% (*).
For the successful recovery of an endangered species, accurate monitoring of occupancy and spatial
distribution must be conducted to better understand the factors that limit their occurrence
(Brubaker 2013). Thus one objective of the ad hoc Amargosa vole team and the CDFW funded
DRIP project undertaken in 2016

3. Drug Subdiction And Drug Addiction
Drug addiction is a crippling problem in the United States, and has the possibility of affecting
every single person. May it be from someone in the upper class, to a single mother who is living
in poverty, this form of substance abuse is becoming more and more abundant in recent times.
Unfortunately, many people who have never dealt with or looked into substance abuse often blame
the individual for what happened. The sociological imagination, on the other hand, says otherwise.
According to C Wright Mills sociological imagination, private troubles, such as substance abuse,
often have a root in public issues of social structure. Sadly, the societal roots of many issues are not
seen by others, causing the individual and their choices to be seen as the cause of their problem. In
turn, this view may support a punitive perspective against the person in question. In the case of
Brittney May, her drug addictionhad started at a relatively young age, and as a result of it, she had
ended up in prison. Although she has been released after her first long sentence, she ended up
being convicted again, and is currently in prison. Additionally, her prison sentence ended up
making her lose custody of her child. Fortunately, her old mother agreed to take care of that child.
Growing up in a low income bracket neighborhood, Brittney was already placed in a society which
had a number of adverse effects on her. Ranging from negative peer pressure from the children
surrounding her, to the

4. Why People Fail At Weight Loss
Losing weight is a struggle. So many of us are overweight and look to all sorts of weight loss
methods in order to lose the extra pounds. Still, the vast majority of people on diets fail at losing
that weight. More often than not, they even gain it all back, plus more! What makes us fail so
often? Even people who are normally so responsible and motivated tend to fail at this endeavor. In
order to be motivated to do something and see it through to the end, there needs to be a balance
between work put in, and the reward you get from that work. The main reason that most people fail
at weight lossis because the hard work usually vastly outweighs the outcome. You could eat right
and exercise for weeks and only lose a few pounds. Such small progress... Show more content on

I feel like I cannot stop eating. I have lost ALMOST 30 pounds and I am slowly starting to put it
back on again. I have been feeling kinda bad about myself lately, and with that comes comforting
myself with food. I know that if I get to the gym, that will help, but mentally, I have fallen off the
weight loss wagon really hard and need to pull myself back up on it again. It s easier said than
done. I was thinking about doing a fast today and just re centering myself again. Saying some
prayers and reading my Bible to get my head back in the game. I give all the glory to God for my
loss so far, because without Him, I couldn t do this. I honestly do not have the will power. Why
does food hold such power over some of us? I look at people on television or even people out in
public that are thin. I am insanely jealous. What must that be like to be thin? I ve never known
what it feels like. What must it be like to not let your life revolve around food? To not always
think about what can I eat next? or I should invite a friend to dinner so I can eat something
yummy. My mindset is just all wrong and I don t know how to change that. I don t know why
food comforts me, but it does. It makes me feel good for about two minutes. I get lost in the
flavors and the feeling of endless chewing. Usually when I eat a high fat meal, I feel like crap
when it s all done. Why can t I remember that feeling? Why doesn t that sit with me in my mind?
I hate the way I look. My body disgusts me. I don t understand how my husband can want me,
but he does. I m totally blessed by him. He thinks I m the most beautiful woman in the world. I
get depressed really easily, and I think it s because I ve been eating so badly. Have you ever
noticed that when your diet gets bad, your mentality takes a huge downfall? I do. I m going
grocery shopping today and my goal is to buy everything healthy. Lots of fruits and veggies and
chicken. I think another problem is that I m getting bored with

6. Culturally Competent Health Care
Stage 4 focuses on the rationale for providing culturally competent health care to refugee s.
Cultural competence relates to a set of behaviours or attitudes that enable the health care system to
provide a high quality of equitable care to all groups within society (Germov, 2014). Based on the
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) a refugeeis defined as someone who
owing to a well founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality,
membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his

7. Manipulative Grandmother
The grandmother of the story, in A Good Man is Hard to Find, by Flannery O Connor, a
stereotypical old lady, finds herself in the middle of a life or death situation, her reason for living
is because she is a woman. Not to mention she is selfish, the Grandma is only asking for her
survival when the rest of her familyis on the verge of death, including her own son. No one is
perfect in this story. The father of the children has a dry attitude, e.g., He didn t have a naturally
sunny disposition. The mother shows no emotion/ physical bond towards her children. The
children show no form of manners in public scenarios, e.g., I wouldn t live in a broken down place
like this for a million bucks.
As the family voyages on a vacation, a manipulative grandmother insists on visiting an old house
she remembers from when she was young. By persisting and hinting, she gets the entire family to
turn around to search for the house. From the beginning the grandma has not been tolerable. She
argued over going to Tennessee over Florida, she packed her cat into her suitcase knowing it was
not allowed, she did not spare the truth when upon realizing the house they were searching for was
in fact not in Georgia, where they were, but in Tennessee. The family ended in an automobile
accident on their way to the non existing house. They encounter the Misfit as he comes down to
conversate with the family. The Misfit is a serial killerthat has escaped prison, and has just

Ordered by President George H.W Bush, relentless allied attacks were made on the Iraqi forces
which led to their surrender. Though this win was a giant success for the allied forces, tension
only rose nearly a decade later with the second Gulf War starting in 2003. The Iraq War
, also known
as the Second Persian Gulf War or Gulf War 2, started in March 2003 with the combined invasion
of Iraq by the United States and Great Britain. President George Bush urged the invasion of Iraq
for two reasons. First, the vulnerability of the United States following the terrorist attacks on
September 11th, 2001. Secondly, the belief in Iraq producing weapons of mass destruction and
their support for terrorist groups in the region. In the early stages of the invasion, Iraqi troops
did not stand a chance against the invading countries. Iraqi military forces were forced to flee or
surrender which allowed for a relatively easy takeover of the country. With his county being
completely dominated by allied forces, Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein went into hiding. He was
later found in December 2003, and was turned over to country officials. After being convicted of
crimes against humanity, he was executed in 2006. With over 39,000 soldiers remaining in Iraq by
the start of Barack Obama s presidency, the new commander of chief of the United States
announced they would be leaving the country upon by the end of 2011 (Encyclopedia Britannica,

the breed, to the time the wild dogs ranged in packs through the primeval forest and killed their
meat as they ran it down. It was no task for him to learn to fight with cut and slash and the quick
wolf snap. In this manner had fought forgotten ancestors. They quickened the old life within him,
and the old tricks which they had stamped into the heredity of the breed were his tricks. They
came to him without effort or discovery, as though they had been his always. And when, on the still
cold nights, he pointed his nose at a star and howled long and wolflike, it was his ancestors, dead
and dust, pointing nose at star and howling down through the centuries and through him. And his
cadences were their cadences, the cadences which voiced their woe and what to them was the
meaning of the stiffness, and the cold, and dark .(London 25)

2006; Romans et al. 1998; Stirn et al. 2011). It then comes as no surprise that earlier methods of
research have not only ignored the use of tattoos as practical expressions of identity construction,
and focused on the negative traits connected with tattoos (Atkinson 2003; Kosut 2005; Sanders and
Vail 2008), it was also wrongly assumed that reasons why people got tattoos were the same
throughout history. Tattoos have involuntarily brought along with them methods of control for
tattooed people through their very existence which has in turn formed methods and industries of
dealing with and challenging such forms of control. We need to understand the changes in patterns
of social meaning and perception of tattoos over time, before we can understand the roots of power

Racism and the Law in Canada
In the 1900 s a prominent English scholar Gilbert Murray said: There is in the world a hierarchy
of races;[some] will direct and rule the others, and the lower work of the world will tend in the long
run to be done by the lower breeds of men. This we of the ruling colour will no doubt accept as
obvious. (Walker; 1997) It was very true at the time; everywhere you looked you could see that
white men assumed all roles of responsibility. Canada has been fighting a never ending war against
racism in the 19th century. It. It has modified or created many laws to help try to combat the

This stereotypical thinking comes from believing that all people in one group have the same
characteristics. There are no laws which prohibit racism because you cannot control a persons state
of mind only his actions. (Cohen; 1987)
In Canada the road to racism is compared by John Boyko to ladder the first rung being stereotypes.
These stereotypes are brought to existence by popular culture such as newspapers, magazines,
cartoons, and movies. The next rung is prejudice, which is the belief that stereotypes are true.
These beliefs are portrayed in phrases such as, They are all ; or Those people ; prejudice only
looks at groups not individuals. The next rung is discrimination which is an action based on
prejudice. For example an employer not hiring someone because they believe the stereotypes about
the group that that person belong to. The next rung that Boyko talks about is sanctioned
discrimination. This is where the discrimination becomes entrenched in our laws and practices.
After that the next step is systematic racism, which is seen in laws that promote segregation. This
step leads to the next step, a need to purify the nation through exclusion or expulsion. And finally
that last step, which is genocide, the deliberate extermination of a race. (Boyko; 1998) In this essay
I would like to talk about the 5th step in the ladder, sanctioned discrimination. Canada, which prides

The Watergate Scandal of the 1970 s consumed most of the Ford Administrations efforts, so little

to support the idea for the first time. Due to the United States being in a recession at the time,
Congress didn t give President Carter s plan much attention. The economic issues the United States

A diplomatic strategy is the best option in engaging Iran but it will require patience and a long term
commitment. The impact to Iran over the past 34 years is a zcountry that is isolated from not only
the Middle East but also the international community. Only through a bilateral diplomatic effort will
the United States convince Iran to change its foreign policy. The focus of the bilateral discussions
is Iran s nuclear program and the right to enrich uranium and an easing of the crippling sanctions on
the Iranian economy. There is a belief Iran is amiable to discussing a inherent right to enrichment
uranium as outlined in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, while seeking relief from the mandated
United States and United Nations sanctions.
Kenneth Waltz s article Why Iran Should Get the Bomb: Nuclear Balancing Would Mean Stability ,
outlines why punishing a state through economic sanctions does not inexorably derail its nuclear
program. The Sanctions placed against Iran have been largely successful for the United States,
whereas our diplomatic strategy has not been as successful. In some form or fashion each United

Effects of Stress on Physical Illness Stress is an example of a behavior and experience explained
in physiological and psychological terms. Recently, awareness has been heightened concerning the
harmful effects of stress and how it can be successfully managed and prevented. Stults
Kolehmainen (2013) definition of stress focuses on some kind of force or mental pressure exerted
upon an individual. Often, stress is often associated with anxiety, strain, tension, distress and
fatigue (Childs de Wit, 2013). The effects of stress comprise psychological and biochemical
physiological changes, many of which are associated with ill health effects. Therefore,
psychological and medical research findings are vital in aiding to understand this issue. Ropponen,
Svedberg and Koskenvuo (2014) suggest that stress occurs as a result of interaction between a
person and their environment. Rytwinski and Avena (2014) state that symptoms of stress can
actually be evident in varied ways including; mentally, emotionally or physically. This paper
discusses the effect of stress on physical illness. The paper will start by showing the connection

22. Difference Between Aristotle And Montaigne
Aristotle and Montaigne are two different philosophers, Aristotle is ancient philosopher while
Montaigne is a modern philosopher. Aristotle believes friendship occurs between virtuous people
and the goal is to help one another reach their absolute best. Montaigne believes a friend is
another self resulting from a fusion of wills. The main focus of this paper is to assess Montaigne s
philosophy and Aristotle s philosophy on their view of loveand judge which view of love is more
convincing to a reasonable human being. Between Aristotle and Montaigne, Montaigne s view of
love is more convincing to a reasonable human being because friendshipis more complex and
complicated than categorizing friendship into different levels.
Aristotle s view of love is philia, while on the other hand Montaigne s view of love is pragma.
Philia is the deep comradely friendship about showing loyalty and pragma is the deep understanding
between two people. Montaigne strongly believes friendship should be an unconstrained product of
will, while Aristotle uses a rather categorical approach to friendship, utility, pleasure, and virtue. By
making strict delineations and then using examples, he establishes a rather strict definition of
friendship that is created along lines of social class. He argues, among other things, that friendship
must be between similarly virtuous men of equal standing. In addition, the purest form of
friendship, and the one that Aristotle considers the only genuine friendship,

sexologist Alfred Kinsey and explaining the contributions he made in the field. The article
claimed how Kinsey studied taboo topics and interviewed his students about their lives, a
practice never conceived of being done before. The author explained how Kinsley s
controversial work was challenged by Thurman Rice, a, bacteriology professor who had written
extensively on sex, primarily from the view of eugenics (Bullough 56). These claims were meant

In 1895 John Lincoln resolved to open a business with a second patent for electric motors. He
founded this business with just 200 dollars. His start up cost was the earnings he received from
redesigning a single motor for Herbert Dow. His business launched out of a small one room
factory. In 1906 he spread his wings and erected a new 3 story factory. He filled those three stories
with 30 new employees and the sales shot through the roof.
Shortly after, his younger brother came on board as the Vice President and General Manager. John

28. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Histogram Equalization
Contrast Enhancement:
3.3.1 Histogram equalization
This method usually increases the global contrast of many images, especially when the usable data
of the image is represented by close contrast values. Through this adjustment, the intensities can be
better distributed on the histogram. This allows for areas of lower local contrast to gain a higher
contrast. Histogram equalization accomplishes this by effectively spreading out the most frequent
intensity values.
The method is useful in images with backgrounds and foregrounds that are both bright or both dark.
In particular, the method can lead to better views of bone structure in x ray images, and to better
detail in photographs that are over or under exposed. A key advantage of the method is that it is a
fairly straightforward technique and an invertible operator. So in theory, if the histogram
equalization function is known, then the original histogram can be recovered. The calculation is
not computationally intensive. A disadvantage of the method is that it is indiscriminate. It may
increase the contrast of background noise, while decreasing the usable signal.
In scientific imaging where spatial correlation is more important than intensity of signal (such as
separating DNA fragments of quantized length), the small signal to noise ... Show more content on

applied to images with low color depth. For example, if applied to 8 bit image displayed with 8

image. Histogram equalization will work the best when applied to images with much higher color
depth than palette size, like continuous data or 16 bit gray scale

Viking, the word conjures up images of well built men with long hair and braided beards
wearing firs and horned helmets, holding axes and shields, ready to battle so they can return

these very same men fight beasts after a night of stuffing their gullets and consuming large
amounts of mead. There are so many stories about these warriors that many of them have
become legendary individuals, but there is so little information about the people who provided
the food to keep the so powered up, the people who provided the nourishment for the rest of their
community while the warriors plundered and defended their honor. There is little known about
the farmers. There is even less known about these unsung heroes around the time that Christianity
took over the Norse culture. A group of researchers that took part in a study in Skagafjörður
Iceland was determined to change that. Iceland has some of the richest Viking history, next to
The Netherlands, so the fact that the people living there would want a more in depth history

The rise of minimalist cooking is changing the art of food photography. The following is a look at
some of the techniques adopted by photographers to capture the simplicity and the spirit of this
modern cuisine. Whether it is because of the recession or a genuine desire to downsize and
simplify, minimalist cooking has become extremely popular. Everything from expensive and hard
to acquire ingredients to rarely used, specialized utensils and equipment have been pared back to
the bare minimum. Less is definitely more. Many photographers have noticed this change, either
consciously or intuitively and are evolving and adapting their techniques to suit. The old
sumptuous saturated glistening overfilled image just doesn t seem to be a good match for this new
approach to cooking and food in general.
The photographers who get this and have a feel for the subject have started to utilize a few specific
techniques which serve to emphasize the subject matter but in a much more understated way and

simple men admire them, and wise men use them . The importance of education to the development
of the society has made all concerned stakeholders to be interested in its administration, planning
and dissemination to the entire populace. Religious missionaries, most especially Christian
missionaries were the fore runners of western education in Nigeria. Education was used by those
organisations as tool for grassroot evangelism as well as public enlightenment. Muslim communities
were faced with challenges of getting their children educated in western way without getting them
converted into Christianity. Various Muslim organisations rose up to this challenge lately by
establishing formal western oriented schools. Muslims are enjoined by Prophet Muhammed to
seek for knowledge from the cradle to the grave ; and even go in quest of knowledge even unto

40. My Leadership Style Aligns Closely With Servant Leadership
My leadership style aligns closely to servant leadership. I lead with others in mind. I value
everyone s contributions and regularly seek out opinions. Cultivating a culture of trust is
incredibly important to me. A culture of trust creates a harmonious environment where each
person can be appreciated for their contribution and can feel a sense of personal accomplishment.
I do not mind people making mistakes but I prefer them to learn from their mistakes. I seek to
unite all parties in a controversy and can readily see the validity of alternative points of views. I
m exceptionally open minded to untested or unconventional ideas and have a high tolerance for
differences. However, I have enormously low tolerance for individuals putting their own egos
or desires for self promotion ahead of the team. When I see evidence of people acting in such a
manner, I like to address the problem immediately with the individuals. If the behavior continues
after a couple of warnings, these individuals will not continue to be part of my organization.
When my loyalties and values are threatened, I can become very stubborn, rigid, and demanding.
The development of leaders is another key principle for me. I like to teach others to lead by
providing opportunities for learning and growing through example and experience. The
development of leaders requires surrendering power and delegating others to lead. In some
situations, where time is of the essence and the task is not being completed to the

41. What s Meant By Person Centred And Coordinated Care
I would like to start by defining what s meant by person centred and coordinated care. Person
Centred has various definitions yet not one that s universally accepted. Debra De Silva in her
review for The Health Foundation describes it as supporting people to make informed decisions
about, and to successfully manage, their own health and care, yet able to make informed decisions
and choose when to invite others to act on their behalf (2014, pg. 2). It essentially means that the
care given places the patient in control and everything else is built around that. Professor Don
Berwick sums it up as the experience of transparency, individualisation, recognition, respect, dignity,
and choice in all matters, without exception, related to one s... Show more content on

There are many components of implementing person centred coordinated care but I ll highlight
those I feel are important. Firstly, evidence shows that there needs to be a fundamental
understanding that patient choice matters. According to Hartley and Benington (2010, pp. 2 5)
there are greater expectations from patients and communities for more personalised and flexible
care. Research shows that a patient s decision regarding treatment change when they re well
informed and this can only mean a better experience of care for a patient. For example, an
international Cochrane Review that included 11 trials involving major elective surgeries showed
that demand declined by 20% after patients became well informed (Mulley et al, 2012). This also
leads to greater convenience for patients and having the option to go where they like and when
they like for care can only become a reality when true integration and coordination is achieved
within the healthcare system. This relies on clinicians accepting that they don t know best when it
comes to patient preferences and letting them decide their own preferences for receiving care and
the settings where to receive it. I was involved in a service redesign for the phlebotomy service at
Burton Hospitals NHS foundation trust where patients wanted a service that operated earlier then
the normal opening time of 9:00 am. I worked with the patients and staff to find a solution where

42. Six Stages Of Denialing In Hills Like White Elephants By...
In Hills like white elephants we identify six stages of human grief regarding to dying, and loss:
denial; isolation; anger; bargaining; depression and finally acceptance. Hemingway apparently
innate understanding and dramatization, of these stages of grief.
The first thing that comes to mind during the stages of Hill Like White Elephants was denial. There
are many significant ways that denial has been portrayed throughout the novel. When we go
further into details about the title of the story is explains it all of what we are expecting HIlls .
The first thought before I began to read the story was the title I began to realize that this story
will have moments it ups, and down. Those ups and downs lead into a problematic figure of
denial between the main antagonist Jig. While reading Novel from start to finish Jig has been
denied from the reality of life. I have come to a conclusion of this when secondly, the American
as came has an attachment to her life as her husband. Noticing further into her life I have seen a
lot of negatives, mostly because The American summarizes their relationship together. In the
book the girl looks off the hills of a line of hills and describes how they look like white elephants.
In page 182 she says I ve never seen one, the man drinks his beer. This show the grief of tension and
denial, but also an interpretation of a baby coming to life, especially from the man when he drinks
the beer. This shows denial of what he is expecting that will

Ted Cruz game plan is to win over young voters, and part of that strategy, he said, is to use his

45. How Did Steel Change Society
Steel has done many incredible things and taken mankind further than we could have ever dreamed.
It is used in almost every metal object that we Americans use on a daily basis, and it would be
almost impossible to find one without it. Not only that, but steel is also used in many other things
throughout America that would not be possible without it. The development of steelwas a
revolutionary pivotal point in the history of the United States, because it is involved in the
creation of steel appliances and objects, buildings and skyscrapers, and the railroad, which was
the backbone of early America. To know how steel impacted the world and changed society for
the better, you must first know the history of it and how it came to be. Steel is an alloy of iron
mixed with primarily carbon and a small amount of other tiny elements. It dates back to have been
created almost 4000 years ago... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After that, steel was used more than iron, bronze, and copper, because it was cheaper to make and
it worked a lot more efficiently than any of the past metals ever did ( History ).
Andrew Carnegie, who was an American immigrant from Scotland, brought about the explosion
of steel ( Andrew Carnegie ). He was one of the key players that led way for the industrialization
for America as we know it. One could tell that steel was so important, because he became one of
the richest men to ever step foot in America back in his time, solely because of this product.
Carnegie started out as a telegraph operator for the Pennsylvania Railroad and eventually worked
his way up in that corporation and became a superintendent. Carnegie s boss taught him how to
invest in shares of stocks. and he started to learn about the stock market and develop a wide variety
of business interests. He also learned the importance of networking and understood that if you
wanted to get anywhere in the steel industry, or any industry for that matter, you must

46. Industrialization And New Immigration Essay
Industrialization, Workers, and the New Immigration Immigrants coped with the conditions as they
found them in America s brimming cities in two major ways. First, and less importantly, they often
connected to the political machines that dominated cities in those days, around the 1890s. These
machines eased the workload placed upon the immigrants and made the environment more suitable
to thrive in; in return, the immigrants voted for the machinery. Some workers would look at the
machinery and call them wonderful monsters, strong enough to lift mountains. Second, and more
importantly, immigrants organized their own communities. Due to the physical conditions,
language barriers, and psychological strains of moving to a new country, immigrants tended to
group together with people of their home country. Small enclaves formed in many cities where
everyone spoke their language and had similar customs. (QUOTE... Show more content on

Although people in other countries portrayed America as the Golden Country , the reality was
that the conditions that people lived in would horrify someone from the present day. The
immigrant men worked for a quarter (or less) of what the American factory men were paid,
which could not comfortably support a family. One man claimed that he was merely paid $1.50
a day and his rent was $1.50 per week. An interview with a fellow immigrant left people
speechless when he stated that he did not know when he and his wife last fed their children aside
from a stolen loaf of bread. Poverty became popular and health seemed to be a problem with almost
every one. Cholera and Typhus were among the few major diseases that caused many deaths. In the
1890 s, plumbing was nonexistent, so families would dump their litter and excrement among the
streets. Vendors sold produce on these streets, thus contaminating the product with feces and
disease.(QUOTE FROM

48. Causes Of The Secession
The secession of the southern states, which ultimately started the Civil War, was one of the most
gruesome time in American history (Historical Context). It was predicted by the State legislature
on December 20, 1860 that the secession would cause great harm to the government and people.
Like predicted, the secession led to many problems politically, socially, and economically. Why did
the southern states secede if they knew the consequences were going to impact not only the union
but themselves as well?
The secession of the South began when South Carolina declared they were no longer part of the
Union. South Carolina disagreed with the fact of them ever becoming part of the United States in
the start, However, according to Dan Bryan, South Carolina was forced to. It was also went on to
say that any chance, like the election of Abraham Lincoln. That South Carolina had to secede was
going to be taken. November 6, 1860 Abraham Lincoln was elected as president, subsequently
South Carolina seceded a month later as promised.
It was believed that the south Seceded because of the election of Abraham Lincoln. However,
according to document seven, The election was not the cause of secession, but it was the last
feather which you know broke the camel s back . Which could possibly mean that the South was
tired of being mistreated by the North. While the election was what gave them the decision to
succeed it was not the causation of secession.
The Southern states were very captivated

49. Explain How To Repair Your Own Faucet
Repairing your own faucet may seem intimidating, but once you learn the fundamentals, today s
faucets are not that hard to fix. In fact, usually the most difficult step is finding the correct
replacement parts. The necessary tools will vary a bit depending on the type of faucet you re
repairing. An Allen wrench will probably be needed to remove the handle. With a small set of small
Allen wrenches, you ll be ready for any faucet. Most repairs also require large slip joint pliers and
screwdrivers.
For all faucet repairs, make sure to examine the faucet closely, before you begin, to determine the
source of the leak. Leaks originating from near the base of the spout will require a different repair
than a leak from the end.
Next, turn off the water supply to the faucet. The shutoff valves are probably located under the
sink. If the valves don t work or if you don t have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You could record each step with a digital camera or video camera so you don t forget. Set the
parts aside in the order you removed them, to make putting it back together easier on yourself.
When you ve got all the parts out, check the interior of the valve for loose bits and mineral
deposits. Use a cloth or a pad to clean the surface. Soaking mineral deposits in vinegar will loosen
them right up.
Slow water flow? That can be caused by plugged holes in the faucet body. A small screwdriver or
penknife can be used to clean them out. Before you replace worn parts and put the faucet back
together, hold a rag over the faucet and open the water shutoff valve slightly to flush out debris that
may have accumulated during the cleaning.
Once the faucet is reassembled, open the faucet and slowly open the shutoff valves to turn on the
water. Keep the faucet open until water is flowing freely and the air is out of the pipes. If the
water flow is slow through the faucet, the aerator may be plugged. Unscrew the aerator and clean it

Relationships are hard to maintain, are they not? The couple will run into problems, that they

cause their own problem that lead to their deaths. The strongest point that led to the demise of
Romeo and Juliet s is the fact that juliet fakes her death. There are easier things to do than that

51. Early Interventions Parents Of Preterm Infants
Introduction A preterm infant can be defined as an infant who is born before 37 weeks gestation.
Babies who are born premature have a high risk for many health and developmental problems as
infants and, furthermore, as they develop into adults. These health and developmental problems can
include brain defects, recurrent illnesses, short attention span, sensory impairments, poor motor
coordination, delays in language, and emotional and behavior problems. Since preterm infants are
fragile and minuscule, parents of preterm infants tend to be more distant when caring for their
child. Preterm infants are less likely to be held close, touched, or talked to by their parents
compared to full term infants (Berk, 2013). This paper focuses on... Show more content on

Skin to Skin (Kangaroo) Care Through research, skin to skin (kangaroo) care has been shown to be
one of the most affective early interventions used by parents. It has been stated that kangaroo care
helps to regulate preterm infants body temperatures, improve preterm infants breathing patterns and
blood oxygen levels, and increase the rate at which preterm infants gain weight. Kangaroo care has
been known to diminish apnea, slow heart rates, and hospital stays for preterm babies. Kangaroo
care intervention includes rhythmic, sensory, and tactile elements. These elements help preterm
infants attention span, development of both motor and mental skills, and cognitive development.
When a mother participates in kangaroo care, the preterm infant is placed in between her breasts and
when a father participates in this type of intervention, the preterm infant is placed next to his chest.
Mothers who participate in kangaroo care state they have more positive emotions toward their baby
and they have a better feel of their parenting role (Feldman, Eidelman, Sirota, Weller, 2002).
According to Feldman et al. (2002), there are more positive interactions between mothers and
preterm infants who participate in kangaroo care than there are between mothers and preterm
infants who do not participate in the intervention. There are also more positive interactions between
mothers and preterm infants who participate in

52. Psychoactive Drugs Book Report
From observing people today and reading the book, there are a lot of similarities for why people
used psychoactive drugs to cope with their environment. The people that I have talked to have
mentioned that they use the drugs to get out of the depression or to forget about it for a while.
This can be because they are depressed about money, relationship, etc. Each of these which can
be, in a sense, their environment since they have to interact with it on either their daily lives or
every so often. As for back then in history, people used the psychoactive drugs to feel happier if
they were upset. It also said in the book that they used to get over their fear of rivals and therefore
would be more willing to go fight. It would seem that regardless

53. Chapter 37 Of Ezekiel
The book of Ezekiel is based on the story of the priest, Ezekiel and his ministry to the Israelites in
exile. Ezekiel preaches about God s presence and how God is still involved while they are in
exile. We hear about the restoration of Israel to a great nation and how the people will know that
I am the Lord . Chapter 37 of Ezekiel is about a vision Ezekiel had. Ezekiel lands in the middle of
a valley of dry bones. God asks him whether the dry bones can live, and the obvious answer is no.
he is told to prophesy to the bones and to tell them the word of the Lord. When Ezekiel
prophesies to the bones they develop flesh and skin. They return to life and as I prophesied, there
was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together (vs. 7). He then is told to

people will come back to life. The glory of the Lord is powerful enough to save the people from
their captors. God will restore the people and make his name exalted. Similar to chapter 36,
where the people are told there will be a cleansing of the nation and a new covenant, God will
put his people back to where they belong. The people are once again shown to not be useful in
