2. Un jour, Jésus fit monter les disciples dans la barque
pour qu'ils passent avant lui de l'autre côté du lac.
One day, Jesus asked his disciples to get into their boat and
go to the other side the lake.

3. Après l'avoir renvoyée, il monta sur une colline pour
prier. Quand le soir fut venu, il se tenait là, seul.
Jesus then went up on a mountain where he could be alone
and pray. Later that evening, he was still there.

4. La barque était déjà à une bonne distance de la terre,
elle était battue par les vagues, car le vent soufflait
contre elle.
Meanwhile, the disciples' boat was a long way from land. They
were in danger, because a storm had come up and the boat
was being tossed around by the waves and the wind.

5. Tard dans la nuit, Jésus se dirigea vers ses disciples en
marchant sur l'eau.
Early that morning, Jesus decided to go to them, so he walked
on top of the water across the lake toward the boat!

6. Quand ils le virent marcher sur l'eau, ils furent terrifiés
et dirent : « C'est un fantôme ! » Et ils poussèrent des
cris de frayeur.
When the disciples saw Jesus, they were terrified. “It’s a
ghost!” they cried out in fear.

7. Mais aussitôt Jésus leur parla : « Courage, leur dit-il.
C'est moi, n'ayez pas peur ! »
Jesus called out to them and said, "Do not be afraid. It is I!"

8. Pierre prit alors la parole et lui dit : « Seigneur, si c'est
bien toi, ordonne que j'aille vers toi sur l'eau. »
Then Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, if it is you, command me to
come to you on the water."

9. — « Viens ! » répondit Jésus. Pierre sortit de la barque
et se mit à marcher sur l'eau pour aller à Jésus.
Jesus told Peter, "Come!“ So, Peter got out of the boat and
started walking to Jesus on the surface of the water.

10. But after a short distance, Peter turned his eyes away from
Jesus and began to look at the strong wind and waves. He
began to sink and cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Mais quand Pierre remarqua la violence du vent, il prit
peur. Il commença à s'enfoncer dans l'eau et s'écria :
« Seigneur, sauve-moi ! »

11. Aussitôt, Jésus étendit la main, le saisit et lui dit :
« Comme ta confiance est faible ! Pourquoi as-tu
douté ? »
Jesus reached out right away and grabbed him. Then he said
to Peter, “Peter, you have so little faith. Why did you doubt?"

12. Ils montèrent tous les deux dans la barque et le vent
tomba. Alors les disciples se mirent à genoux devant
Jésus et dirent : « Tu es vraiment le Fils de Dieu ! »
When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind died
down. The disciples worshiped Jesus and said, “You really are
the Son of God!”

13. When you truly trust
Jesus, you can have
peace in the midst of
storm . The Bible says,
“You (God) will keep him
in perfect peace whose
mind is fixed on You
because he trusts in
You.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Lorsqu’on fait entièrement
confiance au Seigneur, on
peut rester calme au plus
fort de la tempête. La
Bible dit, "Jésus, Tu
garderas dans une paix
parfaite celui qui s’appuie
sur Toi, parce qu’il se
confie en Toi." (Ésaïe
26:3)
