Dale Chihuly is an American glass sculptor and entrepreneur. He studied glass in Venice in 1968 and founded the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington. In 1976, he was in a car accident that left him blind in one eye. He continued blowing glass until 1979 when a bodysurfing accident prevented him from holding the glassblowing pipe. He now oversees a team of artists who create his glass sculptures.
