Here are the key points about authority in Hinduism:
- There is no single person or text that is considered the sole authority in Hinduism.
- Revelation (shruti) through the Vedas is considered the highest authority, followed by tradition (smriti) which includes texts like the Upanishads, Puranas, epics, and law books.
- However, even the Vedas are open to interpretation. Different schools of Hindu philosophy may have varying interpretations of the same Vedic verses.
- Sages and gurus are also seen as authorities in interpreting scriptures and spiritual matters. Their teachings may vary across traditions and geographical regions.
- In practice, authority is decentralized. Pri

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall

2. Davis Service Group Case
Expansion Strategy and Risk
Management
UoPeople Bus 2203 Unit 7
Introduction
Companies must consider several factors when deciding to expand beyond their own borders. This
essay will attempt to unpack a number of these considerations especially as they relate to the case
study of the Davis Service Group.
Models for international growth
From the case study we read this I week there are two models that can be adopted for international
expansion. This first of these models is one that favors organic growth. Organic growth can be
thought of as the natural consequence of the business continuing to grow and naturally spilling over
into a new territory. Under the organic growth model the business would establish a new entity in a
foreign territory and begin the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the down side the business may also inherit the culture of the previous entity or struggle to
entrench its own values and culture in the new venture.
The Berendsen acquisition
When the Davis Service Group acquired Berendsen in 2002, they immediately gained access to the
latter s extensive European network which included operations in
Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland and Germany. Along with this came
various established networks and supplier and customer relationships that the Davis Group would
have had to expend considerable resources to otherwise acquire. The Davis group was able to pool
its knowledge with that of Berendsen and also benefitted from the fact that Berendsen had already
overcome the language barrier and was now sensitive to the cultural differences in the territories in
which it operated.
An additional advantage was the fact that Berendsen and its subsidiary offices all traded in the Euro
which further made integration easier.
Positive EU factors

Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate
rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials,
but the voters of this country . Franklin Delano Roosevelt, The 32nd President of the United States.
Based from the quote, it is clear that the people of a democratic country has the power to govern
their own country. Democracy can be defined as the power of ruling country through the government
elected by the people through a periodically free elections. Beetham (2005) has classified
democracy into two, direct democracy and representative democracy.

From the earlier domination of the Malays elites in the institutions, the recruitment of the Malay
with humble backgrounds and the non Malays makes the racial balance in the institutions. It is
stunning to see how Malaysian can handle our own institution pillars without the interference from
any foreign authority.
The ISAs and RSAs stated in this chapter has clearly shows the role of the institutions in
spreading the ideology of the ruling party, UMNO. The close relationships between the
bureaucracy and UMNO has definitely because of they were come from the Malay elites and royal
family. However, the bias has slowly vanished as the common Malays and the non Malays were
accepted into the institutions.
The ideology of UMNO, which propagates Ketuanan Melayu, social conservatism, and economic
liberalism are seems to be accomplished as it has all the RSAs that can enforce the people to adapt
and practiced. Without all these RSAs and ISAs, Malaysia might be a country that is left behind as

5. What Is The Nature Of The Short Happy Life Of Francis...
The coward, the bitch, and the man: Francis Macomber, Margot Macomber, and Robert Wilson are
developed as characters throughout Ernest Hemingway s The Short Happy Life Of Francis
Macomber. While only the tip of the iceberg is shown at the beginning, as Hemingway develops the
story, the reader is taken underwater to be shown the true nature and essence of the three characters.
On the surface, the Macomber s are a wealthy and traditional American couple. However, Francis
lack of courage and initiative has driven his wife, Margot, into the arms of the safari guide, Robert
Wilson. Francis lived a life of ignorance, and in many ways this was his strength as well as his
weakness.
Francis Macomber had, half an hour before, been carried to his tent from the edge of the camp in
triumph on the arms and shoulders of the cook, the personal boys, the skinner and the porters. The
gun bearers had taken no part in the demonstration.
While the people at the camp thought Francis succeeded in killing the lion, he never tells the
truth, Wilson actually killed the lion, furthering his introduction as the coward. His life was filled
with secrets and abuse, and he was ultimately put out of this misery. Francis ability to overcome
his obstacles is the very reason that although his life was short, he lived a blissful life for only a
split second, when he faced the water buffalo.
During Francis first interaction with a lion on the African safari, he bolts away at the first sign
of fear. This reaction, earned him the contempt of his wife, who made it quite obvious that she
disapproved of his actions. The next day, Macomber s wife witnesses him confront a charging
water buffalo. Much to his wife s dismay, Francis courageously faces the animal, proving that he
could overcome his cowardness. Margot realizes that if Francis continues to prove himself willful
and courageous, he might leave her and rid himself forever of her ridicule. This realization leads
her to aim a gun at the water buffalo, instead shooting Francis in the back of the head. By taking
his life, Margot ended Francis misery and her own. The beauty of Francis character is that even
though he spent his entire marriage disappointing his wife, he was only killed

6. The Influence Of Fox News
The reports delivered by media have become untrustworthy due to its slanting information
contributed by special interests. The introduction paragraphs will begin with an attention getter that
hasn t been decided on yet. It will begin on how the systems should be delivering unbiased stories.
When is comes to broadcasting or journalism, objectivity should be in place. Which means that
there should be no bias but just facts within a story. This will lead to the issues today with the
slanting of information caused by special interests such as the owners of the news stations and
politicians. The thesis of course will finish the introduction. Fox news is an American station
under the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and chairman, Roger Ailes. Ailes has been active in
political works, especially in news business since his involvement in Richard Nixon s campaign in
1968. His success let him to work for CNN then eventually at Fox. Evidence has been shown that

9. The Relation Between Race And Ethnicity
The term Race refers to a person s physical, biological traits that lead to different treatment by
others in the society. In modern world race is defined more by the identification of people on the
basis of their physical characteristics, it is socially constructed. Race refers to a group that is
socially defined but on the basis of physical criteria. Over the period of time, the concept of racehas
changed in many different forms and is now less about person s family or cultural ties but more
based on how they look. An example of race is brown, white, or black skin.

12. Witchcraft Hysteria By Laurie Winn Carlson
As Peter S Beagle says, You ever want to see real witchcraft, you watch people protecting their
comfort, their beliefs. This quote is saying if you want to truly understand someone, learn about
what they believe in. It all began in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. The accusations toward
people who were thought to be witches was on the rise. These would not be the kind of witches a
person would think about in today s world, but women and men who were put on trial for
witchcraft hysteria, which in turn caused mass hysteria. Based on the excerpts from Carol Karlsen
and Laurie Winn Carlson, there are two main theories about the Salem Witchcraft Hysteria. One
theory about the witches was crafted and explained by Carol Karlsen. She believed... Show more

Following this, in January 1692, nine year old Elizabeth Parris and eleven year old Abigail
Williams began having fits. The fits included violent contortions and uncontrollable outbursts of
screaming. After a local doctor by the name of William Griggs diagnosed the girls with
bewitchment, other girls in the area began to exhibit similar symptoms. After Elizabeth Parris and
Abigail Williams both had symptoms of being witches, it spread like wildfire in the community,
followed by many others having similar symptoms. As stated by A E networks, a historical archive
website, As hysteria spread through the community and beyond into the rest of Massachusetts, a
number of others were accused, including Martha Corey and Rebecca Nurse both regarded as
upstanding members of church and community and the four year old daughter of Sarah Good. After
a while the trials became very overwhelming and concerning to others in the community. The
historical events of Salem are documented, however historians have yet to come to consensus on
the true cause of the hysteria. Many textbooks and articles detail the Salem Witchcraft trials of
1692, as well as the many theories. A highly respected theory centers around the idea that the
witchcraft was basically people just having hallucinations. As Laurie Carlson states in her argument,
Between 1689 and 1700 the citizens complained of symptoms that included fits, spectral visions,

13. The Anglo-Saxon Archetype Of Beowulf As An Epic Hero
BeaHero An epic hero is a brave and noble character in an epic poem, admired for great
achievements or affected by grand events. The epic hero of a story embarks on a quest in search
of fame and glory, and encounters challenges throughout their journey. No matter the adversity, the
epic hero maintains bravery and courage, never backing down. However, what the epic hero does
not know is that the real reason for a quest is always self knowledge (Foster 3). In the epic Beowulf,
Anonymous employes the affection of a king, bravery in battle, an eternal quest and a lasting
legacy to show Beowulf as an epic hero. Beowulf embodies the Anglo Saxon archetype of an
epic hero. A key moment in the epic is when king Hrothgar welcomes Beowulf to his kingdom
and says But to table, Beowulf, a banquet in your honor:/Let us toast your victories, and talk of
the future (ll. 223 224). Here it is shown that even a king is acknowledging Beowulf s bravery
and is throwing him a feast, one of the highest honors a king could bestow upon anyone, showing
Hrothgar s great admiration for Beowulf. During the feast Unferth questions Beowulf s honor but
is shown to be a coward himself when Beowulf refutes his claims and inspires king Hrothgar with
a speech: The Geats will show him courage, soon/He can test his strength in battle. And when the
sun/Comes up again, opening another/Bright day from the south, anyone in Denmark will be able

14. A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. In this extract we are presented with Scrooge. From the
beginning Scrooge is presented as a miser. In the extract we find out that he is an old, rude and
ignorant man that doesn t appreciate others around him. Dickens uses different language
techniques to describe Scrooges appearance as clear as possible. In the opening paragraph
Dickens uses imagery to create a vivid impression of Scrooge. He is described as a tight fisted
hand at the grind stone , and this metaphor suggests that Scrooge works hard for his money but is
very tight with his money. In the opening lines Dickens includes similes. Hard and sharp as a flint.

Dickens has used verbs used as adjectives when describing Scrooge such as stiffened his gait .
The effect of these words makes the reader focus on it more and because it s a long list the
reader gets a clear definition of what Scrooge looks like. The adjectives that Dickens uses aren t
describing him as being a nice person, from these adjectives you can tell that he is an old and
miserable character. Dickens focuses on temperature, when doing this he emphasises how cold
hearted Scrooge really is. No warmth could warm, no wintry weather could cool him. This
shows the reader that Scrooge is as cold as he could ever be and nothing can change him.
Dickens also uses a pathetic fallacy, he uses the weather to describe Scrooges character. The
heaviest rain, and snow, and hail, and sleet, could boast of the advantage over him in only one
respect. Dickens uses the harshest weather to describe him, showing the reader how horrible of a
man Scrooge is, using a pathetic fallacy clearly shows the reader how important Scrooges
personality is throughout the book. From this extract the reader knows that Scrooge is a negative
character. Straight away we know that he has a negative impact on others. Nobody ever stopped
him in the street to say, with gladsome looks, My dear Scrooge, how are you? This dialogue never
actually happened, this shows that the other characters in the book are too afraid to acknowledge

17. Why Do We Discover Oxygen
Oxygen
Halle Bratvold
December 15th 2017
Physical Science Period 3
Abstract There are many debates on which element is the most important for this planet, but oxygen
is definitely one of the most necessary for life to survive. In order for humans, animals, and
anything living to survive, they must have oxygen. Oxygen is produced by a process called
photosynthesis, which is when plants produce glucose and oxygen by using carbon dioxide.
Oxygen also makes up about 21% of our entire atmosphere. All in all, oxygen can do many things,
good, bad and otherwise. But no matter what, it is still one of the most essential elements needed
for earth to survive.
Introduction Many people underestimate how important oxygen actually is. They don t realize that
their entire survival relies on one element in more ways than one.
Background
Who Discovered It
Oxygen was discovered by two different people on two separate occasions in the same year of
1774. The men who discovered it were Joseph Priestly and Carl Wilhelm Scheele. Joseph Priestly
was born in 1733 in Wiltshire, England. He was a very smart young child, learning six
languages before he reached high school. He also had a very large passion for chemistry. After
he discovered oxygen, he used his discoveries to invent carbonated water. Carl Wilhelm Scheele
was born in 1733 in Uppsala, Sweden. When he was 22 years old, he got a job at a pharmacy, and
that spiked his interest in chemistry, which led him to

For a water system that had become far to acidic and nothing is living. A process called
freshwater de acidification will spring the the water into becoming healthy again. The process
starts with add the lime directly to the water body. However in the cases of certain lakes where
the turnaround is very quick, the lime is added to the body of water. This has disadvantages
though, the main one being that the lime can have an adverse effect on wetland species of
plants The advantages, however, are that the effects are longer lasting and metals are prevented
from leaching into the lake water from the soil. The alkalinity of the limed lake is increased, the
pH increased and heavy metal concentrations decrease back to within safe limits for fish life. The
number of species of fish, animals and plankton increases as does biomass production. The
chemical equation for liming water is CaCO3(s) + H2SO4(aq) в‡Ё CaSO4*2H2O + CO2(g). If
your soil or forest becomes too acidic a process called liming will help. Soil pH is a measure of the
relative acidity or alkalinity in soils. It is a fundamental chemical property because it influences the
availability of nutrients and the solubility of elements like aluminum and manganese, which are

19. The State Of Nature As A State
In his Leviathan, Hobbes describes the state of nature as a state of war between all men. Hobbes
refers to the state of nature as a state where there is no common power over them (Leviathan 13,
293). By this, Hobbes is explaining the state of nature as a state of existence without a governing
entity or laws over men. In this state, men have the right to take anything they need in order to
preserve themselves (Leviathan 14, 294). Next, Hobbes explains that all men are equal in ability,
and he takes great care to explain that in a single ability, such as strength, men are not equal
because there will be stronger men and weaker men (Leviathan 13, 292). However, he explains
that such inequalities can be overcome using deception or by acquiring allies (Leviathan 13, 292).
The idea of equal ability is key to Hobbes argumentbecause it ensures that everyone has an equal
hope of attaining their ends (Leviathan 13, 293). One way to view this is each individual is able,
or has the capacity, to fight because everyone is approximately equal in ability. If some individuals
were stronger than others and weaker individuals had no method to counter their strength, then the
weaker individuals would not wantto fight because they would certainly lose. This capacity to fight
gives everyone the ability to fight each other, so if have reasonto fight, then they are able to fight.
However, the capacity to fight is not enough because it will not necessarily drive men to fight each

I.Today s view of the Devil and evil angels is almost a laughable view, or, as Lyle Lange puts it, a

a.One view is of a shoulder devil.
i.This is a devil with pointy horns and a trident in a full body red suit who tries to convince you to
do wrong. ii. An example of this is Kronk from The Emperor s New Groove. iii. They miss the fact
that the devil can hurt you, maybe not physically but spiritually.
b.Another view is of a person who rules hell and can do no harm to us up on Earth.
i.These people miss the fact that the devil is on Earth trying to sway God s people toward our sinful
nature.
c.Contrary to popular views, the devil and his fellow evil angels are real threats and enemies to the
world, raging an all out war against Christians, but it is important to remember that we are not
fighting this war alone God is there fighting for us.
i.He is an enemy of man and of believers, one whom we should know, respect, and resist in faith
and in the power of the Lord Jesus. (Dickason, 115)

harmful enemy.

the other end. Billy could almost smell his breath mustard gas and roses. It was a wrong

25. Significance Of Silence In Night By Elie Wiesel
Silence!
With nobody to speak out and help those in need, how was Elie Wiesel and his father going to
survive the camps? Elie and his father are apart of a jewish family in the 1940 s. That means
they would be sent to a concentration camp. Hitler is in power and is conducting a genocide
against jews. Throughout the book you notice the theme silence being used. Wiesel wanted his
audience to know that not only were the Jewish people in camps silenced, but the world around
them was silenced as well. He illustrates that nobody spoke out to help the millions of dying
people that were being punished (for no reason) and nobody that was being punished was allowed
to speak out or the punishment worsened. He shows silence in several different ways including
symbolism, foreshadowing, and diction to exemplify the theme in the book Night by Elie Wiesel.
The first time you see silence in Night is when Wiesel foreshadows by saying, Even Moishe the
Beadle had fallen silent. (8). He indicates that silence will be a theme by saying Moishe had fallen
silent after he returned from a camp for immigrant jews. He foreshadows yet again on page 26

26. Daniel Vs Ezekiel Essay
Ezekiel and Daniel are alike and different in many ways. Yes, both were Major Prophets called by
God. The history we learn about these prophets should teach us many things that we as Christians
are called to know.
Name:
The names Daniel and Ezekiel are similar in the fact that they were both taken from Hebrew and
both are named after their authors. The difference is apparent when we look at the meaning of the
names. Daniel means God is Judge or God is my Judge , whereas Ezekiel means God strengthens or
strengthened by God .
Theme:
There s not much similarity in the themes of these books except that in both books, God s grace
is plainly shown. That is about where the similarities end. From there, Ezekiel s theme is focused
on the condemnation of Israel for their sin. Ezekiel is also a prophecy that the fall of Jerusalem and
the Babylonian captivity are necessary measures for the God of grace to employ if He is to correct
his disobedient people and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference, however, is when we look at how. In Ezekiel, Christ is pictured in parables such
as the tender sprig which is very similar, and thus reminds us, of the Branch from Isaiah 11,
Jeremiah 23 and 33, and also many other places throughout scripture. Ezekiel also talks in
prophecies when it speaks of Messiah as the King with the right to rule.
In Daniel, you see Christ in many different aspects. You see Him in the fiery furnace that
protected Daniel s three friends. You see Him also in the lion s den, preserving his servant Daniel.
In this book he is portrayed through a vision as the great stone who will crush the nations of the
world, which points us to the final day when He comes again.
Canonical Significance: The canonical significance of Ezekiel is that the Holy God will be
worshipped again by a remnant. The canonical significance of Daniel is to show God s sovereignty
in history and prophesy.

The St. Johns River is suffering from a significant environmental disaster because of toxic

Often, toxic substances are being drained into the air, waterways, and undergrounds wells.

mercury contamination until the state s department of migration issues a circular regularly for

On the other hand, The Indians gradually trust, love and respect Dunbar because of his honest and
genuine nature. He falls in love with a white women who was raised by the Sioux after her whole
family was killed by the Pawnee, another Indian tribe. Dunbar marries her, becomes a part of the
tribe and settles down in their village. He lives a happy life with the Indians, but there is always
something in the back of his mind, something that is always bothering him.
Dunbar knows that the arrival of American troops in the frontiers will only be a matter of time.
Soon, he has to make the decision whether he wants to stick to his new friends or go back to his
fellow soldiers and fight against the Indians. When Dunbar rides back to his post to get his
journal, American soldiers are gathered around his post. They see him coming and shoot his
horse. Since Dunbar is wearing a Sioux gown, the troops look at him as a trader and treat him
brutally. When the soldiers are on their way to the next village to have Dunbar hanged, the Sioux
attack, and rescue their friend, Dunbar. Back at the Indian camp, Dunbar and his wife decide to
leave the Sioux. John Dunbar knows that he is a wanted man now.
His decision to leave the Sioux is based on protecting them from more trouble with the American
troops.

34. Outline and Evaluate One or More Explanations of Why...
Outline and Evaluate one or more explanations of why people obey It has been found by
Milgram that people obey for four main reasons these are; legitimate authority, the momentum of
compliance, the agentic shift and passivity. The first reason that Milgram found that people
obey is because people feel like they have to obey someone if they have a high social status or a
highly respected job, this is called legitimate authority. Bickman (1974) supported this theory by
doing an experiment on the streets of New York. Bickman had three men dress up as a
policeman, a guard and a regular passerby in a shirt and tie, he then had the three men ask other
passerby s to either pay a parking fine or pick something of the floor, it was found that... Show more

The second reason people obey is called the momentum of compliance. Otherwise known as the
foot in the door technique, it is usually used by salesmen as they are trying to sell items, they
start up with the smaller items and work their way up to the bigger, more costly items. Smith
and Mackie (2003) found that similar processes take part in real life crimes where criminals
usually work their way up from smaller crimes to bigger, life threatening crimes. Milgram found
that the momentum of compliance was found in his experiment, as the switches were going up
in only 15v each time the participant started small and worked their way up to the bigger shocks
and then without it actually hitting home, they ve actually killed someone but they weren t able
to stop. Like the well known Pringles saying once you pop you can t stop . The third reason for
why people obey is when a person shifts from the autonomous state to the agentic state; this is
called the agentic shift. Milgrams participants believed they were just following orders and did
not consider themselves responsible; his participants even sighed with relief when the
experimenter said I am responsible for what happens here. Evidence from war criminals, has
shown that Eichmann, who was trialled and found guilty for the Nazi war killings as he was the

35. The Ethical Dilemma Of Hawaii Regarding The Construction...
Abstract
This paper will talk about the ethical dilemma that has been a controversial issue in Hawaii
regarding the construction of the thirty meter telescope being built on Mauna Kea, the most sacred
land in the entire pacific. This issue has risen concerns regarding the local community, the Native
Hawaiians and the TMT organization. The ethical dilemma here is to build or not to build? Yes,
Hawaii wants to preserve the host culture, but should Native Hawaiians prevent the development of
new technology? With this telescope, according to the TMT website, it will be able to see the
formation of galaxies, thirteen billion light years away. This can answer humankinds most
compelling question...Where did life begin?
Mauna Kea is currently the tallest mountain in the Hawaiian Chain. 4,205 meters above sea level,
Mauna Kea is located on the island of Hawaii. It is the second largest surface that comprises of the
five volcanoes on Mauna Kea. With Mauna Kea being the largest Mountain in the Hawaiian chain,
it is a popular location to look into the galaxies, to find the origin of life.
Humans have looked to the skies for answers, the Polynesians sailed the Pacific using celestial
navigation. Astronomy continues to revolutionize our thinking. Today, with the construction of the
most powerful telescope, humankind may have the answers to the origin of life. However, this
telescope is being built atop Mauna Kea, one of the most sacred lands in the entire Pacific. Ua Mau

United States saw its first outbreak of meningitisin Massachusetts. It was not until 1887, however,
that Professor Anton Weichselbaum was able to determine a cause of meningitis: a bacterium
called Neisseria meningitides. Penicillin was first used to combat meningitis in 1944, and in 1978,

Nesseria meningitides can be part of the normal flora of the upper part of the respiratory tract
(19). It is a pathenogenic, gram negative aerobe, which resides primarily in mucous membranes.
The shape of the bacterium is diplococci (11). Nesseria meningitides is heterotrophic and
reproduces by way of binary fission (12).
Viral meningitis is more common, but not nearly as severe (8). It is hardly ever fatal and mostly
caused by enteroviruses. Other viruses can induce a person to contract viral meningitis. These
include: mumps, herpes, measles, and varicella zoster. Even an infection from a mosquito bite
could potentially turn into a case of viral meningitis (4)! Fungal meningitis, which can also be
deadly, is mostly caused by Cryptococcus and Candida. The people affected with fungal meningitis
are mostly those who have an inadequate immune system (3). A person may not know he or she has
meningitis right away. Many symptoms are analogous to the flu. These symptoms include a stiff
neck, headache, fever, chills, nausea, light sensitivity, and possible changes in mental state (8).
Even after a person recovers from meningitis, they can still suffer from long term effects such as
brain damage, kidney damage, loss of hearing, amputations, and scarring (6). To accurately diagnose

The definition of great is above average, but Alexander seems average to me.Therefore, I don t

Schoolchildren do not know that by having oral sex, you can still contract STDs. How can
parents and teachers expect them to know when the health teachers just explain abstinence is
the key? Is talking about sex a bad thing? In society today it seems that people are afraid to speak
about teenage sexual behavior because it is something teens are expected not to do. As if just
telling teens to not have sex will just solve it all. But teenagers rarely do as they are told. Some
researches would make you believe handing out condoms and enlightening teens on sex in like
giving a pass to be promiscuous, but in all honesty this is not the message advocates and
educators are sending. Telling teens about what happens, the emotional aftermath, and the risks
involved with sex will cause them to think about it more and be more open to talking to their

This painting depicts the scene from the Bible known as the last supper, where Jesus and his
twelve disciples ate their last meal together before Jesus died. Dali is not the only artist to paint this
famous scene, Leonardo Da Vinci, along with many other artists, created their own version as well.
The difference is that Dali used his surrealism background to create this scene in a completely
unique way. Instead of painting the twelve disciples of Jesus as individuals, Dali painted them
symmetrically so that each man had another mirroring the same pose across the table. This element,
along with placing the setting of the last supper in a dodecagon and showing the beautiful
background, creates a calm and peaceful environment for the disciples to pray. Dali also created two
focal points in this painting, while most artists tend to only choose one. The floating torso is
obviously the surrealist element of this painting, but also completes the message that Dali is
communicating. Though the three elements, symmetry, setting and focal points, Dali created a

Introduction to the Authoritative Sources of Economics
In the field of Economics, valuable theories and analysis are based on previous economics research
and studies. Peer reviewed scholarly journals, economics studies publications, economics research

Experts and researchers in the field of economics focus on the study of cause and effect of economy
by investigating reliable sources such as politics, culture, world ideology etc. Research and writing
sources in Economics can be distinct from other discipline because large authoritative information
is interpreted by figures, statistics and graphics. Researchers in the field of economics focus on
how variables affect economy as a whole and they predict responses to future changes in market
conditions or policy.
Peer reviewed scholarly journals
Scholarly journals in academic study are published by academic institution such as universities,
colleges or research organizations etc. Peer reviewed scholarly journals have less bias than other
type of sources because research writings need to meet certain criteria before publishing. The

past, present and future societies and cultures. The majority of the world s population fabricates
their own unique identity through the values and morals of the religion with which they follow.
The present day allows opportunity for individuals to exercise their religious beliefs openly and

The 8th amendment of the United States Constitution states that excessive bail shall not be
required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. Specifically, the
idea of cruel and unusual punishment has been a topic of dispute since its inception. Although the
United States practiced execution as a punishment beforehand, the Supreme Court did not address
the death penalty issue until 1972. It is often debated how we are to define cruel and unusual
because of the vague nature of the terms. Because it is thought that the terms were kept vague in
order to keep up with new forms of cruel and unusual punishment that would come into being after
the constitution was written, the standards for determining what is cruel and unusual has been set
by evolving standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society meaning that it
changes depending on what our society deems decent or indecent at the time. The problem is that
our society has always been split on this issue. Whether it involves the death penalty or the quality
of prisoner confinement, some hold the opinion that these people deserve to be treated as less than
human because of the crimes they have committed. Others vehemently disagree saying that
everyone, no matter what they ve done, deserves to be treated as humanely as possible. Those of

48. Piety And Wisdom In Plato s Five Dialogues By Socrates
Wisdom is a loosely constructed and defined term distinct from person to person; however in the
Athenian period, citizens believed the wise should have a sense of utmost piety and maintain a
higher connection with the gods. In Plato s Five Dialogues, Socrates, an elderly man living in the
city of Athens, questions these religious ideas to further his understanding of religionand how
thousands of people are able to connect with unidentified and personified spirits. Socrates prolongs
his skepticism as he explores the idea of piety and encounters a number of religious experts who
end up displaying more hypocrisy and falsehood than wisdom and maturity. Since questioning or
denying the belief of the gods was a crime during the time of Athens, Socrates was put on trial for
the accumulative accusations that his teachings and questionings corrupted the young and hindered
society. In trial, Socrates explicitly separates himself from devious rhetoricand instead utilizes his
observations of the immoral and narcissistic flaws of the Athenian people to defend his goodwill
and appreciation for identifying the unknown.
As Socrates approaches the court during his trial, it becomes evident that he is fighting more than
just one accusation; Socrates is defending himself against the countless, unresearched accusations
that have been made years before, developing the audience s bias and premature decision of

Introduction: Cells contain a number of different organelles, specialized structures living within
cells(Mcallister and Leicht 2017). When a cell tissue is grinded down and mixed into a soupy
mixture, the organelles can be separated using a process called centrifugation. The soupy mixture is
placed in a centrifuge which spins the mixture at high speeds. This results in the denser and heavier
organelles ending up in the bottom the the tube which is called the pellet. The lighter and less
dense organelles remain in the liquid portion called the supernatant. This process can be repeated
many times(Mcallister and Leicht 2017). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hypothesis for experiment 1: The hypothesis for experiment 1 was that cell fraction pellet 2 would

because it is lighter and less dense when compared to nuclei and amyloplasts but more dense than

50. Study Of Data Mining Algorithm For Cloud Computing
ABSTRACT
This technical paper consists of the study of data mining algorithm in cloud computing. Cloud
Computing is an environment created in user s machine from online application stored in clouds
and run through web browser. Therefore, it is essential to manage user s data efficiently. Data
mining also known as knowledge discovery is the process of analyzing data from different
perspectives and summarizing it into useful information where the information can be used to
increase revenue, cut costs of implementation and maintenances, or all. Data mining software and/or
algorithms is one of a number of analytical tools for analyzing data. It allows users to analyze
data from many different dimensions or angles, categorize it, and summarize the relationships
identified. Technically, data mining is the process of finding correlations or patterns among
dozens of fields in large relational databases. The process of mining data can be done in many
ways; this paper discusses the theoretical study of two algorithms K means and Apriori, their
explanation using flow chart and pseudo code, and comparison for time and space complexity of
the two for the dataset of an Online Retail Shop .

If you were a retina specialist, how would the data in this case affect your drug procurement
processes, your clinical practices, and your recommendations to patients? Would that decision be
affected by the fact that Medicare allows a markup of 6% on outpatient injectable?
It is no secret that health care delivery is impacted by economic factors and physicians are face
each day with the dilemma of how to enhance their practice bottom line. However, my practice will
be concern with my patients choice of treatment. Even, when the use Lucentis would increase my
practice profits my approach will be patient choice through educating them regarding both available
medicines and have access to both drugs.

52. Slavery In The Nineteenth Century
As many people visited the United States in the nineteenth century, they were grateful they did not
live where slavery existed. People learned about the Peculiar Institution by other white writers,
never truly knowing what the slaves thought. What did the slaves experience under bondage and
what was their image about slavery? The slaves experienced a variety of harmful acts from the
whites and they felt robbed and horrified by the whites actions. For example, slave families were
split apart by different means by their masters. For another example, the slaves were forbidden to
be educated and told to be obedient. Also, they were not allowed to pray, but they took comfort in
thinking that whites and blacks were equal. In addition, slaves rebelled... Show more content on

The masters did not want the slaves to educate themselves because they thought if they were
smarter they would start fighting back. The slaves would try to learn in secret, by taking their
master s copy of a book. The white people also would preach to them telling them to obey their
master and to enjoy what they had. The slaves believed this for sometime because they couldn t
read a book that would suggest they were wrong. Evidence 13 Burning in Hell He didn t like for
us niggers to pray, either (246). Some masters never wanted the slaves to pray because they didn
t want them to have comfort in something. They only wanted the slaves to preach about obeying
and not stealing from their masters. Some slaves believed they should pray to God and believe
that He thinks the blacks and whites are not different. They also took comfort when they were
older and looking back at their old master who died, thinking about how they went to Hell.

53. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Social Behavior
There are 3 basic research methods that social psychologists use to describe behaviors. Each of
these have both strengths and weaknesses. The observational method is done by observing and
collecting data which is then used to describe the behavior. The researcher observes the events in
a natural setting so none of the variables are manipulated. There must be interjudge reliability,
meaning that when different researchers administer the same test to the same subject they each
must obtain the same measurement. The advantages in this method is that it is the simplest
method, it has greater accuracy, and it is useful for setting up hypothesis. The weaknesses are
that this method is hard to observe because of privacy and secrecy. It is great for explanation but
not as good for prediction and description. The observer might also be biased being that he has
his own opinion on what is right and wrong. The correlation method focuses on prediction. It is a
statistical measure of two or more variables and the relation between them are assessed. The
Correlation coefficient assesses how well you can predict one variable from another. A positive
correlation is when the value of one variable increases it is associated with the increase of the
other variable. For example height and weight, the more one grows the more he will weigh. A
negative correlation is when the value of one variable increases it is associated with the decrease
of the other variable. An example is that the

54. Differences And Similarities Between Hinduism And...
The world is made up of different religions that consist of different beliefs and different ways of
worshipping those beliefs. It is one s opinion to place judgment on whether a certain type of
religion is right or wrong . Essentially, religious beliefs boil down to the connection one feels within
oneself. Whether that connection can be explained by nature or spiritual beings, is determined by
the beliefs a person lives by. The most common religions include Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism,
Christianity, and Islam. Here, we will discuss the differences and similarities between Hinduism and
Christianity. These two religions are the most alike out of the five previously mentioned religions.
Hinduism is the major religion of India, and it unites the worshipping of many gods while
believing in a single divine reality. Hinduism can be thought of as an umbrella of many beliefs.
The Hinduism religion believes in many gods, each one having a specific purpose. Many of them
are mentioned in the Vedas, which contains the ancient scriptures of India. The Vedas are the
earliest sacred books of Hinduism, and its name translates to knowledge or sacred lore . It is said
that the Vedas were revealed to holy men of the distant past, who transmitted them to later
generations. Similar to the Bible, the Vedas were originally preserved in oral form then eventually
written down. The Vedic period is estimated to date back to about 2000 to 500 BCE. During this
period is when a vast amount of

55. Is Blanche A Likeable Character
A Street Car Named Desire Is Blanche a likeable character? It is an interesting question. Her past
is less than desirable: A husband who has committed suicide, countless sexual encounters with
men who wanted her for one reason and one reason only, a sense of utter loneliness, and a very
distinct belief that she is better than all others around her. Blanche heads to visit Stella and
Stanley in an effort to start a new, and cleanse herself of the past; when in fact what she finds is
much worse than the ghosts of her past. In the first scenes, Blanche is very unlikable and is
portrayed as a jealous sister, who can t be happy for anyone. It is hard to feel sympathetic to
Blanche; yet easy to feel sympathetic for everyone but her, due to her treatment... Show more

Blanche has just lost her last chance to be stable financially, emotionally and physically. The
reader can most likely relate on some level with a loss of something once loved. The most
shocking parts of the play take place in the last few scenes when Stanley takes out the ultimate
aggression and abuse of power on Blanche; he rapes her while her sister is in labor with his child.
This is a very hard concept to grasp. How could Stanley be so evil? Have so much hate? Do this
to Blanche, Stella and his son? These are all questions the reader may ask themselves; while
most likely having sympathy for Blanche after experiencing such a violent act. It is in the last
scene when Blanche is torn down repeatedly; here she may receive even more sympathy.
Blanche has told Stella of what Stanley did to her, but Stella does not believe her. Blanche s
behavior toward the poker players and during her bath reflects the way being raped by Stanley has
scarred her. In the beginning of the play, Blanche craves the attention of the poker players. By its
end, she wants to be invisible and hopes they won t notice her. Blanche spends much of Scene
Eleven in the bath; as she has done this many times before, this time was different. Blanche was
attempting to wash away Stanley s recent violation rather than her past sexual

56. Analysis Of Toast To Fortunato
A giant is afraid of insects.
This is situational irony because, it is ironic that a person that is a lot bigger than almost
everything, is afraid of little insects that are way smaller than he/she is. That would not be
commonly expected.
A girl is crying. Her best friend says, You re real happy, aren t you?
This is verbal irony because the friend knows that her best friend isn t really happy, and she is
being sarcastic.
After several weeks of 100 degree weather, the forecast is for temperatures in the low 90 s. The
weather forecaster says, We re expecting temperatures in the low 90s. I might have to wear my coat

weather. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrator toast to Fortunato s long life.
This is situational irony because when people toast they are celebrating in a way, and the fact that
the narrator was toasting to it is ironic because he ended up killing him.
Fortunato s jester attire becomes his funeral attire. He is masquerading as a fool, and he is taken
for one.
This is situational irony because, that is the attire that he wears when he fools them into letting him
kill them, so that creates their funeral also.
Montresor implores Fortunato to return and not go any farther, telling him that his health is precious.
This is verbal irony because Montresor is being sarcastic in a way because he really doesn t care
about Fortunato s health because he plans on killing him anyways.

Homeless Veteran s
INTRODUCTION: How many people have a Veteran in their family or know one? If yes do you
help them or is it someone else s problem. Well many people think it s someone else problem, but
the truth is it s our problem.
They gave there all for each of us!
PROBLEM: Veterans being let go from service without appropriate long tern help. Leaves
unthinkable large numbers of Veterans helpless without knowledge on how to fit back in to the
world they left behind, so they become homeless. This problem is out of control.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) states the nation s homeless veterans are
predominantly male, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But they need a voice and eyes to see their way
FACTS: The most effective programs for homeless and at risk veterans are community based,
nonprofit, veterans helping veterans groups. Programs that work best feature transitional housing,
with the camaraderie of living in structured, substance free environments with fellow veterans who
are succeeding at bettering themselves.
FACTS: VA estimates that 107,000 veterans are homeless on any given night, and over the course
of a year, approximately twice that many experience homelessness. Only eight percent of the
general population can claim veteran status, but nearly one fifth of the homeless population are
veterans.
Fact: VA s specialized homeless programs served more than 92,000 veterans in 2009, which is
highly commendable. This still leaves well over 100,000 more veterans,
Facts: Roughly 56 percent of all homeless veterans are African American or Hispanic, despite only
accounting for 12.8 percent and 15.4 percent of the U.S. population respectively
About 1.5 million other veterans, meanwhile, are considered at risk of homelessness due to poverty,
lack of support networks, and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing.
Although flawless counts are impossible to come by the transient nature of homeless populations
presents a major difficulty VA estimates that 107,000 veterans are homeless on any given night.
