LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

2. Bellatrix In Death Eaters
Oh, are we allowed to say the name now? asked Luna with an air of interest, pulling off the
Invisibility Cloak. The appearance of a second outlaw seemed to overwhelm Professor
McGonagall, who staggered backward and fell into a nearby chair, clutching at the neck of her
old tartan dressing gown. (476 478) Under such an authoritative identity and capable personality,
Professor McGonagall still maintained a more emotional nature than male characters. She fought
bravely in the final battle and led the teachers and students of Hogwarts to the battlefield against
the dark force and used her superb magical power to lay the foundation for their victory. More
importantly, what she did was all as a witch, what she achieved and chose was all as a... Show more

She did not think there was anything wrong with doing this, nor was she afraid of such a trial.
This kind of traits should be defined as arrogant and defiant in Bellatrix. In addition to her
loyalty to Voldemort, she has more important capital to be proud of, her magic power. Among
the Death Eaters, there were few known female members. This was related to the line of
Voldemort s behavior. However, Bellatrix was a servant who followed around Voldemort all the
time and was deeply trusted and reused by Voldemort. Although she fell out of favor due to
ineffective service, she managed to restore her status at the end of the story, still remaining on
the closest position to the master. She was not only harsh on her mouth, but also very vicious in
behavior. In the battle of the fifth book, she told the Death Eaters around to grab Ginny and
torture her, and the other Death Eaters really all came to Ginny. She just said it in a veritable
way, but still got this kind of response, which is enough to show that her prestige among the
Death Eaters was very high. There is chance that it was because she had been loyal to the master
for more than a decade in Azkaban which earned her special respect from other Death Eaters, or to
say that because of her crazy and cruel desire of torturing, she was respected by the

4. A New Breed Of Genetic Engineering
Genetic modification has long been a part of the way humans adapt to their environment. From
selectively breeding sheep to get the perfect wool to eliminating unsavory seeds to get the tastiest,
reddest apples, people have been indirectly engineering the genes of other organisms for centuries.
However, scientific advancement has produced a new breed of genetic engineering. Scientists are
now able to actually insert genes from one organism into the DNA of another (Goldbas 20). While
this has led to numerous beneficial medicines and foods, the modern GMOs are enveloped in
controversy.
The food industry is under great pressure as the world population sky rockets. To many, the GMOs,

According to a Pew study, 88 percent of these [American Association for the Advancement of
Science] scientists believe that genetically engineered food products are safe to eat (Koberstein
49). However, of those very same scientists only 68 percent think the same of foods grown with
pesticides (Koberstein 49). This is incredibly ironic because all GMO foods are grown with the
use of pesticides. If the scientists properly understood GMOs, then the number for GMOs would
be no greater than the number for pesticides. They contradict themselves by having a lower
opinion of pesticide use than GMOs. Distinguished environmental journalist Paul Koberstein
reports the GMOs are grown using some [pesticides] which have been shown to be highly toxic to
the environment and humans, like atrazine, chlorpyrifos, as well as potentially hazardous
insecticidal proteins that are genetically embedded into the plant (49). There is no logical world in
which pesticide use is capable of being worse that GMO foods. This situation is just the beginning
of the GMO enigma, which remarkably involves simultaneously using and ignoring science. More
than just pesticides are causing harm when it comes to GMOs. The FDA, or Food and Drug
Administration, allows companies that manufacture GMOs to determine the safety of their own
products (Hemphill 8). While in theory the companies are supposed to only release products that
have been properly

It would be incorrect, geocaching can take up hiking, biking, swimming, climbing and mountain

afternoon. In other words, is how to live outdoors only intensified. 3) With respect to the others.
When geocaching find all kinds of treasures clean and elegant. The idea is that if you take

8. Advantages Of E-Commerce Security
ABSTRACT
E commerce Security is protecting assets of e commerce from any unauthorized access,
modification or deletion. E commerce Security should follow the basic CIA model i.e.
confidentiality, integrity, availability of Information Security. With the growing demand of E
commerce in the market, exploitation of its security is also subjected to increase, thus increasing
the potential for white collar crimes. Internet Banking is a flexible and easy mode of online
payment provided by banking sectors to e commerce but as every coin has two faces, the benefits
come with some hidden flaws. The possibility of fraud is seen as the major reason why today s
companies are spending billions of dollars on computer security. In this paper we discuss overview

COP 3330 Object Oriented Programming

Object oriented programming at its core is a practice of strategic thinking. Essentially, in OOP we
tend to focus on objects rather than actions and data rather than logic. A key step in OOP is
identifying the objects one wants to manipulate and observing how they relate to each other. The
basic idea of OOP involves breaking up the code into objects that can message each other, which
proves to be very beneficial. To better understand and use object oriented programming as intended,
I decided to investigate two different languages that implement the object oriented approach to
programming. I chose Java because I am already familiar with the syntax and its ... Show more

C# is a general purpose programming language as part of Microsoft s .NET initiative. It was
designed for the Common Language Infrastructure (CLI). C# applications are compiled into
bytecode that can run on implementations of the CLI. The fact that Microsoft own Visual Studio
means that the IDE is not easily accessible to anyone, as Java is. That is later mentioned in the
differences between the two.
From an article that suggests that C# is an evolution of Java, I was able to gather evidence on
the similarities between them and understand the ways that C# actually improves upon, when
compared to Java. An interesting discovery in my research was that the keywords in Java
language are very similar to the ones in C#; for example, new, bool, this, break, static, class,
throw, virtual, and null. But they are a few different keywords in C# that simply are not the same
as in Java. Furthermore, C# and Java share the same primitive data types, with the exception that
C# uses the System namespace regarding those objects. In C# and Java, there is built in garbage
collection, it helps prevent memory leaks by removing objects that are no longer being used by the
application. Basically, this means that, although memory leaks can occur, memory management is
pretty much taken care for you. From an article that suggests that C# is an evolution of Java, I was

10. Freud Vs Nietzsche
Sigmund Freud and Friedrich Nietzsche offer prominent critiques of civilization and morality that
greatly differ from the commonplace views of ethics and virtue. Rejecting the idea that morality is
an instinctive or natural element of human life, they both argue that morality is a reactionary
construction to the realities of the humanexistence. While both Nietzsche and Freud share this view,
their views on the value of moralitydiffer greatly. Nietzsche argues that morality suffocates and
chokes humanity. Freud on the other hand, claims that morality is an essential component of
civilization and solely responsible for enabling humans to live together peacefully. The disparity

This will to power is the animalistic hunger for attaining more power. But it is explained by him
that there are those who cannot simply achieve that goal through force. So this will to power is
eventually turned inwards, where the deprivation and repression of the basic instincts is seen as
having power over them. This lifestyle is what Nietzsche describes as asceticism. A lifestyle of
monks, priests and nuns, he describes it as having an aura of seriousness. This process of
forgetting common sense, distrusting the instinct and withdrawing from the world is the same
part of the same slaves revolt in morality that he explains in his earlier essay. This ascetic ideal is
further embodied in the then flourishing world of science. He describes science as the most recent
and noblest form of the ascetic ideal (Nietzsche 3.25), adding that science is not opposed to religion
or morality, it is aiming for truth. His optimism about civilization s advancement towards the truth
is a sharp contrast to the bound discontent of Freud. Yet Nietzsche does have his own doubts about
the faith in science. Similarly to the scientist questions the priest s faith in God, Nietzsche
recommends the conscience to doubt even faith in truth. He is in no form a relativist, but he states
emphasizes that knowing as many different perspectives as possible

11. Animal Abuse And Its Impact
Animal Abuse Its Impact This project is an in depth look at animal abuse. What is animal
abuse? Animal abuse is defined as either the physical mistreatment of an animal or neglect
where the animal is denied basic necessities of care. The mistreatment of animals is a serious
issue in society. It often goes unreported because many people believe it is only abuse if it is
intentional. This lack of understanding allows minor cases of neglect to progress into major cases
that can end in the death of the animals involved. Many cases of animal abuse are unintentional
ones. These are cases of neglect. Animal neglect is when an animal is being denied one of its
basic necessities to live. Neglect often comes from a place of misinformation or... Show more

Neglect can end up being the environmental factor that causes an animal to develop a mental or
behavioral disorder. Now is when the question arises, do animals even have the capacity to
develop mental illnesses? Well, according to numerous veterinarians and scientists, the answer
to that is a resounding yes. Many vets are diagnosing animals with depression and giving dogs
with separation anxiety xanax prescriptions, and it is working. These animals who are being
diagnosed and treated for their mental illnesses are making complete 180 degree turns towards
being healthy and happy again. So the negative effects that neglect has on the health of animals
is real. If the animals are not catching diseases from unkempt pens, they re developing mental
illnesses from the isolation of being alone in a cage all day. While the unintentional abuse of
animals is sad and disheartening, the intentional abuse of animals is downright infuriating for
most. The intentional abuse of animals is defined as an intentional infliction of harm or suffering
on an animal. An example of this would be when the weird kid down the road hangs his
neighbor s cat from a tree by its back foot and beats it with a baseball bat. This form of abuse
comes from a completely different place than its counterpart. While unintentional abuse comes from
a place of ignorance, this form comes from a place of cruelty. Many people believe that those who

in a career where I work interchangeably between an artist and fine art teacher. As a young girl, I

people s outlooks on him. However, Jack s life never turley became better. He went to the Hill
school but got expelled, and Dwight s anger never left Jack, and clouded the little bit of happiness
that Jack had gained in Chinook. All of this shows that imagination never truly makes things better,
but provides an allusion. Through Jack it was learned that only working hard, and keeping out of
trouble brings honest good fortune. Which was expressed throughout the memoir to allow the
readers to see the good and bad that came from Jack s life. Overall, the quotation helped me

The ultimate symbol displaying national pride is the American flag. The American flag
represents freedom, for that reason American citizens worship it. The flag is present in
countless places throughout the country and are accompanied by the national anthem and the
Pledge of Allegiance. There are seldom events that do not begin with the playing of the national
anthem or the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. In the 1606 England, many people had the
same ethic as Americans do, hard work. Today in America, advertising seems to capitalize on
this. Whether it is for a new product or a presidential candidate, they try to appeal to a typical
hard working American. While they may share that sense of pride, it is ultimately for their own
advantage. For example, if a speaker or writer is telling people to vote for a certain candidate,
they may try to relate to the audience s national pride by saying it is their civic duty to vote.
Shakespeare also had the idea of hard work imbedded in him, so he presented his national pride
similarly through his plays. He did this to try and earn support from the king, because without that

Running with this information can now write out the equation AB2 + BC2 = AC2. One important
thing is that we must note that AB is equal to X and the line segment of BC is equal to that of 2x+4,
and that AC will be equal to that of 2x+6. So we will now input this information to create (x)2 +
(2x + 4)2 = (2x + 6)2 and begin factoring each term into two sections. These two sections will be as
x*x + (2x + 4)(2x + 4) = (2x + 6)(2x + 6). x times x is x2. An important tool to use now would be
the FOIL method, so we will take (2x + 4)(2x + 4) and create 4x2 + 16x + 16. Right off the bat we
notice that we have like terms. So we will add x2 to 4x2 to get 5x2. This will create 5x2 + 16x +
16 = 4x2 + 24x+ 36. Now we will use the subtraction property to get 5x2 4x2 + 16x 24x + 16 36 =
0, however we still have like terms, so because 5x2 is a like term with 4x2 we will add them
together to get x2. We will also combine 16x and 24x and also 16 and 36 which are also like terms
and create 8x and 20, our equation should now look like x2 8x 20 = 0.We will now factor the
equation from left to right, first factoring x2 which has 1 coefficient so the fact will be 1 and 1.
The other term will be 20 which have no coefficient so we will do 5x4 and then 4 still can be
divided so 2x2. This will create 20=225.
We will now take a look using the Prime Factorization formula which will aid us in finding the

determine the visual and academic ability of a student with a visual impairment. It is always best
to consult the primary source, the student, who often knows what their needs are. It is important to
form a relationship with the student because they will feel more comfortable expressing those
needs to their teacher. Another helpful source are parents and guardians, they live with their child,
therefore know their strengths and weaknesses, as well as understand the child more. Parents
might also be able to inform the teacher on what works best for their child. Teachers should also
look over their student s individualized education program (IEP), which will have a lot of useful
information. For example, the IEP will describe a child s strengths and weaknesses, academic goals,
instructional and physical accommodations and/or modifications, and a list of additional services
and/or assistive technology devices. Furthermore, traditional teachers can consult with a teacher for
the visually impaired (TVI) who can suggest strategies that will help the student learn more

RMC employs a standard three tier distribution system where the company sells to wholesalers who
in turn sell to retailers who sell to the public. The company finds its niche in the premium and ultra
premium segments of the table wine market (Burns et al., 2001).
In January 1999, Michael Mondavi, the CEO of the RMC and son of its founder, Robert Mondavi,
announced the reorganization of the company and the layoff of 4% of the workforce. RMC had
experienced a shortfall in supplying its Woodbridge Chardonnay brand. Unhappy distributors had
begun substituting competing Chardonnay brands on retailer s shelves. Yet, some distributors
remained reluctant to carry the brand even though Woodbridge production levels returned to normal
and further reducing company sales (Thompson Strickland 2003).
During this period, the senior management was completing the process of reconfiguring RMC s
future strategies. However, there were two different views had aroused: (i) one group argued for a
return to the original vision, complaining that RMC had been so busy focusing on launching new
brands and pursuing international ventures that it had neglected its core domestic brands, which
made up 90% of revenues, and (ii) another group claimed for continued diversification through its
global partnerships in Chile and Italy and one domestic brand. Michael Mondavi was caught

27. Why Is Karl Marx Considered Radical
Karl Marx and His Radical Views
Karl Marx[i] Karl Marx is among the most important and influential of all modern philosophers
who expressed his ideas on humans in nature. According to the University of Dayton, the human
person is part of a larger history of life on this planet. Through technology humans have the power
to have an immense effect on that life. [ii] The people of his time found that the impact of the
Industrial Revolution would further man s success within this world and would ensure his success
as a species. Marx was extremely radical in finding that this was a positive impact on humans in
nature.
In order to understand why his views were considered radical, it is important to understand his ...

Marx believed the workers were not collecting the benefits of the Industrial Revolution. Marx
says that men are forced to work for natural survival. Marx also suggests that working men only
have time to engage in the basic animalistic tendencies of a quest for survival. He says that man
becomes alienated from nature and other humans as well. Marx is basically saying that man lived
day by day, by day and he has nothing else to really live for.
Marx thought that as the workers grew stronger, they would eventually rebel against the
organization. In doing this, they would create a classless society where everyone would be equal
and all property would be abolished. The basis of Marxism is the conviction that socialism is
inevitable. Marx believed the free enterprise system, or capitalism, was doomed and that socialism
was the only option[iv]. Obviously, this was not a favored philosophy with expanding industrialists,
entrepreneurs, and existing political systems of the mid nineteenth century [v].
Marx wrote The Communist Manifesto with the German radical, Fredriech Engels,
Fredriech Engels[vi]
who was also Marx s best friend. The Communist Manifesto was a pamphlet written on the eve of
the German Revolution in 1848. In his essay, Marx explains his radical theories on politics and
history. Marx and Engels also examined the positive aspects of capitalism in The Communist
Manifesto. They thought the bourgeoisie had

While people are trying to find a breakthrough cure for diseases such as Cancer, Sickle Cell
patients feel that they are left in the dark of the public s eye. Each day thousands of people are
being faced with the shocking truth of having to live a very hard, tiresome, and very painful life.
According to researchers about one in four hundred African American is affected with SickleCell.
Therefore it is felt that there should be a greater effort in trying to find a cure for this disease.
Sickle Cell disease also known as SCD is a genetic disease of a person s red blood cells. The shape
of a normal person s RBC is shaped like a disk. This shape of the red blood cells allows for the
flexibility that helps the cells move through blood vessels. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These problems include but are not limited to breathing problems, eye problems, leg ulcers, and
also organ failure(s).Patients who are known for having SCD may also have a history of having
breathing problems. Patients may suffer from Pulmonary Hypertension. This results from when
a patient has high blood pressure that occurs in the lungs. If this becomes too severe or goes left
untreated it may be fatal. Besides having breathing problems a patient may also suffer problems
with seeing. In the case that there is blood clotting in the patient s eye this can result in the
patient becoming blind. A leg ulcer usually starts to show up on the patient s lower leg and /or
ankle and may sometimes go untreated because the patient may think is just a normal scratch or
cut. Leg ulcers usually are the result of poor blood circulation to that particular area. Delayed
growth usually occurs in most or all patients with Sickle Cell. Another problem that sickle cell
patients may have to face is organ failures. The organs that are most common to fail are the lungs,
liver, kidney and spleen. The failure of these organs may stem from other health problems related to

29. The Pivotal Political Decisions On The Young American...
The pivotal political decisions in the young American republic of the late 18th century were made
by a select few leaders. These forerunners knew each other at a personal level, and their
gregariousness had a remarkable impact on the choices they made in the future. In the words of an
accomplished historian and a biographer, Joseph Ellis, these crucial decisions with an astounding
aftermath came about in a sudden spasm of enforced inspiration and makeshift construction (3). In
addition, in his new non fiction erudite study, Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation,
published in the year 2000, Ellis strives to illustrate how these decisions came about in a sudden
spasm of enforced inspiration and makeshift construction during the final decades of the eighteenth
century. (3). Thus, in order to distinguish between categorical truth and romantic fiction, Ellis
focuses primarily on the forerunners themselves, wishing to examine how their relationships
resonated through political changes.
As an ardent historian, Joseph Ellis has written numerous books on the topic of American history.
Some of his most famous include: Passionate Sage: The Character and Legacy of John Adams and
American Sphinx: The Character of Thomas Jefferson, which won the 1997 National Book Award.
After graduating from Yale University and the College of William and Mary, Ellis currently lives in
Amherst, Massachusetts, with his wife, Ellen, and three sons.

34. The Mathematical Theory Of Communication In Thomas...
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, entropy can be defined as the degree of disorder or
uncertainty in a system. In his novel, The Crying of Lot 49, Thomas Pynchon manipulates the
definition of the scientific term entropy to manifest the innate chaos and disorder in both a closed
thermodynamic system and in the life of the protagonist: Oedipa Maas. In the novel, Oedipa Maas
explores entropywith respect to the thermodynamic sorting of molecules in Maxwell s Demon, and
the communication information regarding the Tristero . According to Warren Weaver s, Recent
Contributions to The Mathematical Theory of Communication, there are technical, semantic, and
effectiveness problems that may distort the accuracy of communication,... Show more content on

Since entropy prospers in closed environments much like Oedipa s life at the beginning of the
novel, Pynchon develops the idea that the chaos in Oedipa s life is subject to increase with the
discovery of more information pointing to the existence of Tristero. This overload of information
Oedipa experiences serves as a roadblock to her understanding of the true meaning behind the
Tristero. According to Warren Weaver, the entropy in the channel is determined both by what one
attempts to feed into the channel and by the capabilities of the channel to handle different signal
situations (Weaver, 10). Thus, when Oedipa is fed copious amounts of symbols, words, and
theories, she finds it hard to handle sorting what is real and unreal. This confusion that Oedipa
endures is a direct consequence of the noise created by different people, symbols, and word that
disrupt Oedipa s deciphering of the Tristero. Warren Weaver comments on this noise seen in Claude
Shannon s communication transmission model, stating that, If noise is introduced, then the
received message contains certain distortions...that would certainly lead one to say that the received
message exhibits, because of the effects of the noise, an increased uncertainty... If the information
source has any residual uncertainty...then this must be undesirable uncertainty due to noise (Weaver,
11). This undesirable uncertainty due to noise leads

36. Critical Whiteness in Education
Theoretical Framework of the Study
As seen in the previous literature, empirical research in the last twenty years reveals the positive
student outcomes associated to service learning. However, as Susan Jones (2002) argues, student s
ability to actively participate in all aspects of their service learning experience depends on the
intersection of the student s own background. . . , developmental readiness for such a learning
experience, and the privileging conditions that put a college student in a community service
organization as a volunteer in the first place (p. 13). Accordingly, different complexities may
emerge when students engage with ill structured, complex social issues present in the community
service settings typically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frankenberg (1993) describes Whiteness as multidimensional: First, whiteness is a location of
structural advantage, of race privilege. Second, it is a standpoint and place from which white people
look at ourselves, at others, and at society. Third, whiteness refers to a set of cultural practices that
are usually unmarked and unnamed (p. 1). Although Whiteness has intangible systems of
oppression, inequality, and unearned advantage that are not necessary seen, heard, or felt;
nonetheless, they reproduce and support the idea of White as the ultimate form of racial identity.
Butin (2005) examines the dynamics of Whiteness, and the extent to which student resistance is
conceptualized as occurring due to dominant students rejection of the exposure and analysis of
these same hidden and/or explicit social, cultural, and academic structures and practices of the
school that privilege and sustains White, middle class norms (p. 117). As such, addressing the
dynamics of social problems through readings, classroom discussions, and community services
visits may confront students with their conditions of privilege, as well as with new epistemologies
that do not necessary resonate with students previous knowledge of the world; therefore, students
may feel uncomfortable, uneasy and unwilling to discuss social issues.

From the beginning of the semester until now, I believe I have made progress with the goals I
considered for the midterm exam. Those goals were staying turned out, fully extending the
working leg to the back, and carrying the working leg en l air at the same height. In addition to
these three aspects, new challenges were discovered over the current ones. The new challenges
have allowed myself to set new goals for the upcoming semester of Spring 2018. During the
midterm conference, Dr. Sims provided me a few exercises I could work on outside of class to
improve my turnout. The exercise I have really worked on is with a theraband. This exercise
consists of tieing the theraband around the thigharea tight enough to allow resistance and begin to
externally rotate the legs. This exercise targets turning out from the hips as I was turning out from
the knee, which could be another cause of my knee pain.
Not only is working with a theraband working, but continuing to think about sending energy out

39. William Edward Burghardt Dubois And The Harlem Renaissance
Labeled as a radical, William Edward Burghardt DuBois had a solid idea for African American
progression. Described variously as the most outspoken civil rights activist in America, and the
undisputed intellectual leader of a new generation of African Americans , Du Bois was
considered the inspiration for the literary movement known as the Harlem Renaissance
(Reuben). Known as the Talented Tenth , in his essay he mentions the Negro race, like all races,
being saved by its exceptional men. Du Bois believed that if a small group of black persons
attained college educations they would be leaders of the race and encourage the rest to do the
same and reach a higher level of education. As a co founder of the NAACP and the long time
editor of its magazine The Crisis, Du Bois nurtured and promoted many young and talented African
Americans (Reuben). Underlying his controversial notion of the talented tenth, was his belief that
true integration will happen when selected blacks excel in the literature and the fine arts. Du Bois
stated, If this be true and who can deny it three tasks lay before me, first to show from the past that
the Talented Tenth as they have risen among American Negroes have been worthy of leadership,
secondly, to show how these men may be educated and developed, and thirdly, to show their relation
to the Negro problem (Chesnutt et al. 34). Contrary to Booker T. Washington, Du Bois believed that
if you wanted something accomplished you went right at it.

protagonist of the numerous vignettes, highlights how this affects the young women on Mango
Street.
The vignette Beautiful and Cruel, conveys the impact it has on Esperanza. In this vignette,
Esperanza feels that she is an ugly daughter and the one nobody cares about (Cisneros 88). She
does not need, or want, a man to lead her life, unlike the women she knows. She does not need, or

Adding to this, it is very common that the father does not want his daughter to be too gorgeous.
The saying all beauty comes with a price goes hand in hand with what the fathers of these girls
wish. They also want their daughters to settle down with a man and have children that just keep
coming. Sadly, this is something society has deemed acceptable, and many young girls are now
trying to be what they know as the stereotype of pretty and perfect. Suddenly, it is all that matters
and what they want simply is not important, they are not able to be their own kind of beautiful.

An example of an analogous structure would be the wings on butterflies, bats, and birds. The
human appendix is another example. It is no longer used in the human body but it is still there.
However this is because we evolved so much that we no longer need to use an appendix to
survive. Another important example would be the development of an eye in both mollusks and
vertebrates. This example of analogous structures is especially useful because one of most
common claims made by religious creationists is that something as complex as an eye couldn t
possibly have evolved naturally they insist that the only possible explanation is a supernatural
designer (which is always their god). However if you see the eye of a hawk and the eye of a
human they greatly differ. This shows that the eye of the hawk has evolved more due to its
environment and its hunting characteristics. On the other hand, the human eye is rarely used to
find something a small as a rat from a thousand feet away. The fact that the eye in different species
are analogous structures proves that the eye could evolve naturally, but also that it in fact evolved
several times, independently, and in different ways every time. The same is true of other analogous
structures as well, and this is because certain functions (like being able to see) are just so useful
that it s certain they will evolve eventually. No supernatural beings, whether gods or not,

The book was published in 1949.
The book takes place in the late 1940 s Brooklyn, Boston, and Manhattan.
The play s entirety takes place over the course of 24 hours. It s about the life of Willy Loman, a

wants better things out of life, but things don t go his way. He continues along with all these bad
things and arguments with his family until he kills himself.

magical counterpart Mitty. There are many similarities between Mitty and Hogwarts. Hogwarts
students and teachers are proud of and happy at their school. Mitty has a similar effect. When I
shadowed at Mitty, my shadow was more than happy to expound upon the wonders

47. The Positive Effects Of Employment On Lowering Recidivism
Much research has been done regarding the positive effect employment has on lowering
recidivism. However, little research has been done to determine the effect a criminal record,
including registration as a sex offender, has on finding gainful employment. Holzer s 1996 study
(as cited by Johnson, 2006) found that two thirds of employers in major cities would avoid hiring
known ex offenders, indicating that regardless of public policies that may make finding
employment difficult, ex offenders ultimately still have to overcome the social stigma of their
criminal histories. Negative community attitudes towards criminal history are even worse for those
who are registered sex offenders (Willis, Levenson, Ward, 2010). With the addition of

However, the researchers also found that the unemployment rate among released offenders was
over six times higher than that of the general population at the time of the study in 2009.
Furthermore, the unemployment rate among ex offenders within nine months of release from
prison was between 92 97 percent. Potential Barriers to Employment Unemployment can be
especially hard to tackle when a limited number of fields are open to those who are looking for
jobs. A 1998 Bureau of Justice Statisitcs Report (as quoted by Travis, Solomon, Waul, 2001)
found that a number of fields were off limits to ex offenders looking for work, including law, real
estate, medicine, nursing, physical therapy, and education . Released sex offenders may face
further restrictions in which fields they may enter depending on the stipulations of their release.
Johnson (2006) notes that due to internet usage restrictions, some released sex offenders are not
able to perform jobs that require use of the internet. Such restrictions may severely limit the job
opportunities for ex offenders. Once an ex offender finds a field in which they can work, they can
be subject to further scrutiny through the use of criminal background checks by hiring managers.
Nally, et al. (2014) noted a number of studies showing that

48. Cooperative Learning Is A Revolutionary Style Of Teaching...
Cooperative learning is a revolutionary style of teaching that offers students a chance to work
together, communicate, build social skills, and acquire self confidence. It is important to inspire
students to be excited about learning and to encourage their involvement in the learning process.
There are many studies that offer important information and have determined that cooperative
learningnot only helps students improve academically, but that it also shows that students take
pride in the fact they can cooperate and complete something together. Educators need to open the
doors for students to have the opportunity to understand cooperative learning and become efficient
with it. Offering students a chance to grow socially, academically, and understand the values of
communication and teamwork is important for their future.
Our educational system is one of the most influential molds for young members of our society.
How children learn and grow influences the future and it is important for them to learn as much
information and skills as possible. However, education is not just about learning facts and
classroom material. One of the most important lessons students can learn is to work together,
which will be very important as they grow and enter the working world. The process of teaching
how to utilize groups and hands on activities is called cooperative learning. Cooperative learning is
a beneficial practice used in the classroom to help students work together,

49. Sir Winston Churchill s We Shall Fight On The Beaches
Delivered in 1940 to the House of Commons of the United Kingdom We shall fight on the
beaches is arguably the most defining speech in world history. Being the second of three
speeches delivered by Prime Minister Winston Churchill, during the midst of World War II. The
speech was used to the deliver news regarding the greatest military disaster to date in Dunkirk. In
his speech Churchill was able to channel into audience patriotic spirit and desire to preserve, by
depicting the deeds of the brave men of British military with conviction. Through his vivid
storytelling, Churchill connects with his audience immediately by providing the horrific details of
them being attacked by hostile aircrafts and the hail of bombs. Churchill s ability to illustrate the
details of what the soldier s encountered while in Belgium places the audience in the perspective of
a soldier in their ammo boots. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However the present circumstances inspired the heart felt message, as it was needed to address
the events prior to the speech. Sir Winston Churchill exemplifies the meaning of leadership and
heroism. His speech accompanied by his actions will continue to leave his legacy cemented in
world history. Utilizing repetition in his speech pattern, and effectively delivering his speech with
outstanding cadence and tone, he was able to uplift and unite the people of Great Britain.
Churchill s heartfelt remarks about perseverance, determination and thoughtfulness heavily
impacted me. I was able to generate a correlation of Churchill s speech, to the work of Martin
Luther King s I have a dream speech. Both speakers were able to effectivity connect with their
audience, and use repetition to instill courage and belief. Churchill and King may have come from
different era s, and appealed to different audiences, but both were able to convey the same message
and be an inspiration to people of the current generation and those to
