What Is The Theories Of Three Human Development Theorists,...
Human development is an essential aspect in early childhood education. This essay is going to discuss
the theories of three human development theorists, Urie Bronfenbrenner, John Bowlby and Mary
Ainsworth s. Bronfenbrenner s Ecological Systems theory is concerned with family, cultural and
social influences and all the other environmental elements. Bowlby s Attachment theory and Stages of
attachment and Ainsworth s Strange Situation research which breaks down attachment into three types
are related to the relationship between adults and children. These theories are all associated with socio
cultural theory, which is throughout the New Zealand early childhood curriculum Te whariki (Ministry
of Education, 1996). Bronfenbrenner (Sigelman Rider, 2014) created an ecological system model
which illustrates both direct and indirect influences (these influences are bi directional) in an
individual s growth environment. This ecological system consists of five systems which all have an
individual as their same centre and gradually extend from this individual to the last and largest system,
including minute but immediate impacts like a bee in the garden that stung this individual and
macroscopical but subtle impacts like global warming. Meanwhile, they are inclusive, as Te Whariki,
the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, describes it as a set of nested Russian dolls (The
Ministry of Education, 1996, page.19), which means these in systems, one contains another.

From 1918 to 1939 Australia, like the rest of the modern world experienced great change. The

Throughout the time of the Great depression many people were homeless and unemployed. It was
caused by enormous growth of goods and prices of shares in the United States during 1920s.
Companies were producing more products than they could sell, while most Americans could not
afford it because they were too poor. Also investors borrowed money from banks to buy shares so they
could sell them for quick profits when prices rose. In 1920s this caused share prices reached
unrealistic amounts and when investors lost confidence they rushed to sell shares, prices collapsed.
Results in this huge fall meant demands for goods vanished and people were left unemployed and
banks closed while poverty spread. Australia also was affected because Australia owed a large and
increasing amount of interest to overseas lenders. Many works were left unemployed and in 1932

2.0 Arguments For Software Piracy Essay
2.0 Arguments for software piracy
In economical and ethical terms, they are different arguments used to defend the practice of Software
Piracy. For example, some customers might say purchasing software is expensive so the computer
dealers pirate the software and sell it to the customers for a lower price which consists of a bit torrent ,
this is protecting the customers.
2.1 Cost
As broadband internet technology continues to flourish, the price of software continues to increase.
Some people have the opinion that software costs too much which leads them to pirate software at a
lower price as it is expensive to purchase it commercially [9]. This is beneficial to the people that
suffer financially and don t have a good paid job which is likely to help them with the cost of the
software. Pirating software also comes in handy for the university students as it is not always available
at low cost and most good software costs hundreds to thousands and this is the amount that students
can t afford when it comes to purchasing software such as Microsoft in order to get their projects and
assignments done without money to purchase the original software. Therefore, software piracy casts
significant benefits to those who cannot afford the software at such a great price. With some consumer
software packages costing up to $500, the amount of money saved by pirating is not negligible [9].
Consumers also believe that manufactures are not hurt by pirates making illegal copies of their

Changes In The Endocrine System
The endocrine system is made up of organs and tissues that produce hormones. Hormones are natural
chemicals produced in one place, secreted into the bloodstream and then used by other organs and
target systems. Hormones control the target organs. Some organic systems have their own internal
control systems in place of the hormones or together with them.
As we get older, natural changes occur in the way in which body systems are controlled. Some target
tissues become less sensitive to the hormone that controls them. The amount of hormones produced
can also change. The blood levels of some hormones increase, those of others decrease and those of
some others remain unchanged. Hormones also break down (metabolize) more slowly. Many of the
organs that produce hormones are controlled by other hormones. ... Show more content on

This region produces hormones that control other structures in the endocrine system. The amount of
these regulatory hormones remains almost the same, but the response from the endocrine organs can
change as we get older. The pituitary gland is also located in the brain. This gland reaches its
maximum size when people reach middle age and then gradually becomes smaller.
The thyroid gland is located in the neck. This gland produces the hormones that help control the
metabolism. With age, said gland can become protruding (nodular). The metabolism decreases with
time, beginning around 20 years of age. Because thyroid hormones are produced and broken down
(metabolized) at the same rate, tests of thyroid function are usually still normal. In some people
thyroid hormone levels may rise, leading to an increased risk of dying from cardiovascular disease.
The parathyroid are four small glands located around the thyroid. Parathyroid hormone affects calcium
and phosphate levels, which affect bone strength. The levels of parathyroid hormones rise with age,
which can contribute to

Socrates Essay
SOCRATES Socrates was a Greek philosopher who lived between 470 399 B.C. He turned Greek
attention toward questions of ethics and virtue and away from those of the heavenly bodies. Socrates
spent much time in the Agora (marketplace) where he held conversations with townspeople. Socrates
believed that real truth could be found out through thought and collaboration with others. He was
known for exposing ignorance, hypocrisy, and conceit. Despite having many followers, Socrates was
disliked by most Athenians. At the age of 70, he was convicted of atheism, treason and corruption of
the young. He was originally ordered to leave Athens, but chose to drink poison instead. This great
man valued the law over his life, and so he chose to drank ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But after Athens lost her empire by losing the Peloponnesian War and had undergone two oligarchic
reigns of terror at the hands of the gilded, Socratified rich kids, her patience with Socrates ended.
Socrates was charged in 399 B.C. with quot;impiety against the gods of the city quot; and with
quot;corrupting the young. quot; He was guilty on all counts. Socrates basic premise of government
according to Xenophon s quot;Memorabilia quot; was quot;that it is the business of the ruler to give
orders and of the ruled to obey. quot; So the ruler should have total, unaccounted power. The second
charge against Socrates, that he had corrupted the youth of Athens, was even more damning. The
foremost examples of the gilded youth he led astray was Alcibiades and Critias, although Socrates
effect on the rich young aristocratic fops was already mentioned in Aristophanes quot;The Birds, quot;

Online Shopping Conduct And Internet Shopping Essay
INTRODUCTION
Online shopping is almost to synonymous to customary shopping through brick and mortar stores. As
indicated by UCLA Center for Communication Policy, online shopping has been rising as a standout
among the most famous web exercises, marginally behind e mailing and internet surfing and in
addition surpasses online entertainment search and online news. Online shopping conduct
(additionally called web purchasing conduct and Internet shopping/purchasing conduct) implies to the
procedure of buying merchandise/goods or services by means of the Internet. In a standard online
shopping procedure, potential customer s see/feel/sense a necessity for some good or service and they
approach to online shopping to search about the product/service and make a purchase decision to
gratify the need. In some cases, instead of looking for intentionally, once in a while potential
customers are pulled in by information about merchandise or services joined with the felt need. They
then evaluate decisions and pick the specific alternative that best fits their criteria for meeting the
obliged need. Finally, the purchase is made and post purchase services are given. In this term paper I
explore the various attitudes, behaviors and traits exhibited by consumers during this online purchase
decision, factors which facilitate and influence their decision making. Online shopping behavior here
also refers to consumers psychological state and intent in terms of making purchases on the Internet

A Case Study On South Florida Real Estate
7. A Case Study
Let s imagine you have to sell a rather expensive condo in Hallandale Beach, Florida, which is
essentially a middle class town right north of Miami with a splash of a luxury building here or there,
and you happen to have this property for sale in one of those luxury buildings with the market price
more than twice the average price around town. So, it is hard to think that a local interest would be
extremely high, plus you know that a neighbor s apartment has been sitting on the market with a local
real estate agent for a while without a good and solid offer, plus there is a bit of an issue with some
banks to approve mortgages for this building. It is really time to think of reaching foreign investors in

speaking Canadians from the province of Quebec love Florida and French at the same time. Searching
Canadian Google in French for immobilier à Hallandale Beach Floride (the translation that we got

French speaking Canadian realtor. It could be the way to go. Canadian real estate prices had never
fallen along with American because of much stronger mortgage approval rules in Canada, and just a
couple of years ago Canadians used to borrow against their expensive homes in Canada to buy cheap
Florida homes for their future retirement with this cash. Now the Florida real estate prices are going

The Toronto Maple Leafs And The Nhl
May 13, 2013 A day that will go down in history as one of the most devastating days for fans of the
Toronto Maple Leafs. After an 113 day lockout at the beginning of the season, the Leafs made the
playoffs for the first time in 9 years. They were playing the Boston Bruins in the first round and made
it all the way to game 7. Leafs fans around the world were glued to their TV s as they watched their
team build a seemingly impenetrable 4 1 lead with 15 minutes to go in the third period, all they had to
do was hang on to it... The Bruins added a second goal with 9:18 remaining, and then the unthinkable
happened. In the span of thirty one seconds, Boston netted their third and fourth of the game to tie
things up with only seconds remaining, sending the game to overtime. There s nothing more exciting
and nerve wracking than Game Seven overtime, but unfortunately for the Toronto Maple Leafs, their
dreams of winning the cup were once again extinguished. They added another year since the last time
they won the coveted Stanley Cup: 46 years and counting (now up to 48 years in 2016) the longest
drought without a Cup for any NHL team in history. Yet even with such a long drought without a cup,
Maple Leaf fans remain some of the most loyal and dedicated in all of professional sports. The team
also brings in some of the highest revenues in all of the NHL. How can a losing team be one of the
most profitable? This paper will examine the case of the Toronto Maple Leafs from a number of

The Story Of Electricity Is Told By Al Khalili Essay
The Story of Electricity is told by Al Khalili, a British theoretical physicist, and begins the three part
TV program with the Spark or dawn of human knowledge of electricity, showcasing the simple and
primitive experiments. Leading next, the second part of the program goes over 18th and 19th centuries
and how many scientists and physicists harnessed the power of electricity and magnetism and created
practical devices and how these devices complete transformed the way people lived and continues to
do so today. In the third episode, Khalili finishes up the story with how what we applied what we have
learned in the past 200 years to connect the world with electricity via networks and broadcasting. He
explains that our era is defined by electricity, and how our understanding of electricity is proportional
to our reliance upon it. The first episode starts us off with Isaac Newton and Francis Hauksbee in the
Royal Society and the experiments they created. One of the first experiments regarding electricity
involved a spinning glass hollow sphere vacuum. In a dark room, as the glass span, Hauksbee placed
his hand very near the surface without touching it, and light emitted from inside the glass. This
experiment was groundbreaking since it was the first time mankind had seemingly created a power
reserved to the All Mighty. Even though this discovery was groundbreaking, its practicality was nearly
nil. Conjurors and street magicians called themselves electricians and

The primary outcome of this study showed coaggregation between A. radioresistens and S.
epidermidis or S. haemolyticus, though the coaggregation was mild and sporadic. Additionally, the
combination of S. epidermidis or S. haemolyticus with M. luteus demonstrated coaggregation.
However, no coaggregating pairs exhibited the high scores as presented by the positive control paring
of A. naeslundii ATCC 12104 and S. sanguinis CR2B, which resemble the findings of the previous
study.41 From the data presented here, it is clear that the microorganism were isolated from same

is still unknown. The present study also has shown the adhesion of Staphylococcus spp. had the
influence in the adhesion of A. radioresistens. The rate of bacterial growth in liquid medium, builds
the argument of cohesion results where M. luteus or A. radioresistens was initiated the growth of S.
epidermidis and S. haemolyticus in BHI. There was a reduction in the growth of M. luteus with
Staphylococcus spp; although the contrary was expressed in cohesion assay.
The current study also has investigated the inhibitory effect of lactose, sucrose and pronase in the
coaggregation. Sato et al (1984) demonstrated that coaggregation between actinomycetes and
streptococci occurred via lectin like substances (i.e. substances similar or identical to proteins that
bind sugars) on the surface of actinomycetes with carbohydrate(s) on the surface of streptococci.47
Pre treating Staphylococcus spp. with lactose and sucrose inhibited the coaggregation which indicates
the involvement of Staphylococci lectins in the coaggregation which again resembles the finding of
the previous study. The ocular isolates of S. aureus and S. epidermidis inhibited the coaggregation
with P. aeruginosa and S. marcescens when pre treated with lactose or sucrose.41 However, the
selected inhibitory sugars were unable to stop coaggregation with Micrococcus spp. and Acinetobacter

Parable Of The Black Veil
The mystery, curiosity and suspicion that an ordinary old man can bring to himself with only wearing
a black veil. Mr. Hooper the minister with a black veil has everyone interested in what he has to hide,
not only that but also understand why he began to wear it in the first place. This black veil alone had
costed him many things like his wife, his friends, and the children to fear him. in this manner Mr.
Hooper spent a long life, irreproachable in outward act, yet shrouded in dismal suspicions; kind and
loving, though unloved, and dimly feared; a man apart from men (1259) , yet the protagonist does not
take it off no matter what others say about him. He keeps his veil on to teach a lesson and to prove that
the black veil is the item that keeps their secrets hidden. He keeps the veil on as a representation of not
only his secret sin but also wears it to represent the darkness that humanity has committed. Yet after

To start, the black veil is the symbol of sin and also proves that no one in this life or any other life is
perfect. After that comes the thought that everyone, even myself, has a symbolic veil, similar to that of
Mr. Hooper, that covers our sins from others. The final theme represented in this story would be that
people should not focus on the sins of others but instead look at their own sins. To look for a way of
redemption to their own sins before they could start looking at other people s sins. So to sum it up the
main theme of this is that everyone commits sins and of course this is a normal thing because no one
in this world is perfect. Yet that does not mean that others should be so concerned with the sins of
others. Instead look for a way of redemption, focus on the secret sins you have committed first.

Iron Titration Essay
Iron Titration Practical
Introduction into Treating Anaemia with Iron Tablets
Anemia, which is a condition that develops when there is a lack of red blood cells or isn t enough
healthy cells to support the body.
The symptoms are:
 Extreme fatigue
 Pale skin.
 Weakness.
 Shortness of breath.
 Chest pain.
 Headache.
 Dizziness or light headedness.
Causes of Anaemia can vary depending on the person. Iron Deficiency Anaemia can be caused by
bleeding, for example if a person has lost blood due to injury. The body may also not manufacture
enough healthy red blood cells to support the body. This can be due to not having a healthy or
balanced diet, also if you have a disease that limits the amount of nutrients your body absorbs can be a
cause of Anaemia. (NHS, 2012)
The aim of this Titration is to calculate the amount of IRON in the tablets to see if how much they are

The Political Engagement Of Burma
As Burma seeks to distance itself from China, despite Burma s failed engagement on the energy front,
India may very well be destined to be the major beneficiary. Burma has been grateful that India has
focused on education, provision of technology and services, and infrastructure just as much as it has
focused on energy (Maini, 2014). With all things considered, China virtually has monopoly over
Burma s offshore gas fields. Its economic and political engagement in Burma is greater than any other
country in the world beyond comparison.

Contrary to popular belief, the tribes are weary of Burma becoming a democracy too soon. Suu Kyi is
little more than a symbol of the wrong issue democracy first! Ethnic rights and the balance of ethnic
power are preconditions for democracy (Kaplan, 2011). The granddaughter of famous military general
Aung San, Aung San Suu Kyi, has led Burma s National League of Democracy. India has a strong
relationship with Suu Kyi, as India supported Burma s democracy leader prior to changing its policy
to engagement with the regime. Suu Kyi studied in India, won the Nehru Award for International
Peace in 1982, and her family has strong ties to Jawaharlal Nehru (Myint U, 2011). Although Suu Kyi
and the tribes are against the same military, their visions for the order are different by which a
transition to a civilian government must to occur. The major concern of the tribes is their rights
through a federation that grants them self rule. Suu Kyi specifically desires elections, with less regard
for the distinctive approach that will be necessary in order to satisfy the tribes. India and Suu Kyi have
distanced from each other, creating an opportunity for India to advocate for the tribes. The tribes may

novel and in the lives of others people often chose their own reality in order to reject something in
their life they see as unwanted or unbearable. In part two of the novel, the reader is told a story of Pi s

until in part three when a second story is introduced. The story replaces all the animals in the first with

Importance Of Religion In Bangladesh
2.2. Research Analysis
Religion and Bangladesh have always closely connected with each other. Religion has become one of
the key identities of this country. People of different religion live here together without any disputes.
However importance of religion in this country is more to say. Though it follows a secular
constitution, religion is given more priority than anything else.
Other side as a democratic republican state political parties have always influence over government in
terms of political power. With the aim of establishing an Islamic State, some political parties are using
religion to influence over public and government. As public sentiments are undoubtedly related with
religion. Today they have strong political position in society, that s why government and other
political entities cannot avoid those parties. They have highly motivated with religious norms and
values and want to impose those through political power.
Bangladesh a constitutional secular democratic state, has got its independence from Pakistan in 1971.
After the liberation war, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman came into power. He banned all the religious
political parties. After the assassination of Sheikh Mujib in 1975, Ziaur Rahman came into power. He
came to the power with a successful military coup. Ziaur Rahman policies were more Islam centric.

The Indonesian government began to issue permits to big companies for the production of palm oil,
and the results are catastrophic. Indonesia is now under a widespread burning of tropical rainforests
and peat lands to develop palm oil plantations, and many are saying the crisis is one of the largest

the landscape for planation development, while the large industries are accusing the farmers and
villagers of lighting many of the fires. Even if the statement were to be true, the displacement of
communities and drainage of peat lands for plantations is ultimately responsible for these fires.

Learner assessments can be done to identify disability. I should be non judgemental. I could use hand

I will need to consider everybody s individual needs and plan things that everybody can be included in
as this will promote equality too. A good example of this is (Gravells A, 2008). A group of leaners
wish to go out for dinner. One is vegetarian, another is dairy intolerant and a third does not eat fish.
They all want to eat at the same restaurant and choose from the same menu and be treated equally,
enabling them to choose a different option from the menu. The diverse requirements of the group are
therefore being taken into account to differentiate for their needs. Other useful organisations that deal
with the issues of equality and diversity are, The Disability Rights Commission, DRC. Equal

The Song American Pie Is A Representation Of Loss During...
The song American Pie is a representation of loss during the transition into the 1970s. It was written in
1971 by Don McLean and filled with his views on the state of society, political changes, and cultural
changes. The cultural changes and the loss of everything society knew produced the lost generation
that McLean was apart of. He demonstrated his disapproval of the direction of the country by using
music, faith, and war as examples of the changes and loss his generation faced.
Music heavily influences and creates a voice for the people of the time period it is written in and also
reflects the tone of the time period. Mclean s generation was impacted greatly by classic rock and roll
artists, such as Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. Music direction and message portrayed the prosperous
nature of the 1950s and what life was like before the 1970s. The change in music direction rooted
from a tragedy that Mclean recognized with the verse, But February made me shiver . In February 3,
1959 Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson died in a plane crash. Theses musicians were
Mclean s heroes and rock and roll legends. McLean considered this to be the day the music died .
After their deaths, music drastically changed. New musicians and styles of music came into play.
Buddy Holly and the other musicians before the Vietnam war sang uplifting songs or songs with
religious references. The verse A long long time ago, is referring to the time period of rock and roll

Motivation In A Pair Of Silk Stockings
Motivations are powerful means to direct one s life and to provide a purpose, however these
motivations can come at a price to those whom are close them. The authors of each short story support
this idea by giving the characters of each story a motivation that inspires them to improve their lives at
the cost of the wellbeing of themselves or other individuals. Each character made conscious attempt to
obtain what desire most; with a motivation as the primary source that dictates what they do.
In the story, A Pair of Silk Stockings, by Kate Chopin, Mrs. Sommers comes into the possession of the
modern equivalent of 400 dollars. This becomes the prime motivation for Mrs. Sommers shopping
spree over purchasing items her family desperately needs. Mrs. Sommers is left to balance desires of
wealth and luxury and responsibilities as a mother and wife; only to succumb to her deepest desires in
the form of silk stockings. Mrs. Sommers loses control as she gave into the temptation that she could
not move in the direction of the bargain counter ; she only worries about herself and the day of luxury
her funds could afford her. Just as quickly as she spent money, she also forgot the plans in her mind
she had the night prior on how she seemed her way clearly toward a proper and judicious use of the
money . For Mrs. Sommers the money was a temporary distraction from a life of poverty that she
replaced with one of riches and luxury; when she saw an opportunity improve her life

The Cantigas De Santa Maria Essay
The Cantigas de Santa Maria is one of the largest collections of monophonic songs from the Middle
Ages and is branded by the mention of the Virgin Mary in all 427 songs. The Cantigas are written in
Galician Portuguese, a poetic language in Castile at the time. The musical forms within the Cantigas,
are still being studied. There is a plethora of variations, but no musical forms have been considered
standard. In my analysis, I noticed a relationship between the refrain and the end of the stanzas which
tend to repeat the same melodic material. The refrain begins the poem and is repeated after each
stanza; in addition, the final portion of the stanza is displayed on the refrain, beckoning its imminent
return. Each Cantiga has very in depth syllabic patterns that work in attendem with the repeated
refreain After reviewing the translations of my Cantigas it seems the verse of the repeated refrain ties
in the moral of the poem and offers praise to Holy Mary. An example is the refrain in Cantiga 36, a
ship at sea. We should all love with all our will the lady who frees us from troubles and storms.
The refrain in my opinion eludes to the idea of storm being a metaphor for the trouble you face in
everyday life, and you must praise in the storm so that the Virgin Mary can eviscerate the darkness in
your life. Another stand out feature of the Cantigas are the illuminations that accompany them in the
codices. These beautiful illustrations map out the story of the Cantiga, and

Collectivism Is More Rational Than Belief
I will be using rationality as the main criterion for evaluating which philosophy is preferable, so the
resolution can basically be re stated as belief in collectivism is more rational than belief in
individualism . My case revolves around 3 independently functioning reasons for why an affirmation
of the resolution is more plausible than a negation of it. I. Collectivism increases the chances of
individual success The logic underlying this is simple. A society, by definition, is a group of
individuals. So when we value the interests of society , we are really just valuing the interests of the
largest possible number of individuals within that society we are valuing the interests of the majority.
And since an individual is statistically more likely to part of the majority than the minority (duh),
collectivism ensures that any given individual is more likely to have their interests protected than not.
Thus, theoretically, collectivism increases the probability of individual prosperity. However, this is not
only demonstrable in theory; we can see empirical examples of this holding true in practice as well.
Just take a look at nature we can easily observe a large variety of species that instinctively live in
large, interactive groups in which collective welfare is valued over individual welfare wolves,
elephants, lions, chimpanzees, meerkats, bison, sheep, antelopes, ants, bees, ducks, small fish, and
many more fall into this category. There is a reason why such a

Comparison Of Silent And Boomer Generations
With the advent of social media and unlimited access to the internet, many are contemplating why
Millennials seem to be more ignorant than other generations. Millennials seem to be more concerned
with status updates and keeping up with the Kardashians than with actual news. Older generations
wonder how this could have happened to a generation with so much capability to be informed.
Millennials are (or at least have the capability to be) more informed than previous generations,
because of instantly updating social media, access to more news, and advances in education. On the
other hand, others may feel as though newspapers and news radio stations are going the way of the
dodo. What served us so well for so long is not being lost to phone obsessed teenagers. Millennials are
the new generation. That needs to be accepted. Silent and Boomer generations older generations may

News apps, social media, and the internet allow teens to read and know more than just what was
included in the daily newspaper. According to Glenbard East journalism teacher Jeffrey Kargol, I
believe it s a lot easier to find the information because there are a lot more resources at our fingertips.
People can pretty much go online and get informed about something, while other generations couldn t
do that (Paragraph#8). Mr. Kargol explains that resources such as social media are more effective in
informing teens because news is unlimited. In former generations, people only had access to whatever
could fit into the day s newspaper. ... Many agree that the widespread use of technology is key in
keeping the Millennial generation informed of current affairs... (P#9) Technology allows people of this

The next Harlequin image is again inverted and can be seen to the right of the previous Harlequin. He
is identifiable from his patchwork costume and triangular hat and appears to be kneeling on the
ground as if watching the puppet show taking place opposite. Death: The preoccupying theme of
Guernica is of course death; reinforcing this, in the centre of the painting is a hidden skull which
dominates the viewer s subliminal impressions. The skull is shown sideways and has been ingeniously
overlaid onto the body of the horse, which is also a death symbol. The skull s mechanical appearance
seems appropriate to the modern weaponry used in the 1937 bombing. Picasso often hid one or more
related symbols within a particular image as seen here. Below the dying horse in the centre of the
painting is a concealed bull s head contained in the outline of the horse s buckled front leg. Its location
infers that that it is plunging its horns into the horse s belly from below... the goring of the horse in the
bullfight was a favourite subject for Picasso and has strong sexual overtones. | | | | | | SUMMARY FOR

Importance Of False Confessions
In many cases, the reliability of a confession may not be the most prompt when suggesting the
accused is guilty of a crime. Prosecutors as well as police officers often interrogate those believed are
the suspect and obligate a confession. In a study done by Robert A. Nasha and Kimberley A. Wade,
they conducted an experiment to suggest whether or not using technology to alter the video of the
subject performing the task, will lead to a false confession or by simply mentioning that hey have
evidence to demonstrate the subject being deceptive during the task will also lead to a false
confession. The intriguing research indicates that memory distrust can lead to false confessions. Not
being able to remember or having evidence that coincide with the crime and in this case, hearing that
there is evidence to suggest the crime has been committed alters the accused own beliefs. This can
eventually lead up to not only giving a false confession, but actually believing they committed the
crime. These psychologist initial goal was to evaluate the significance of false confessions regarding
to legal settings as well as clinical settings. During the experiment, the psychologist conducted an
experiment in which thirty random students took part in. During the experiment subject were told they
were being monitored while playing a multiple choice computerized gambling task. Depending on
whether they got the choice correctly they would gain money, if they got the answer incorrectly they

The United Methodist Church’s Book of Discipline Essay
The United Methodist Church s Book of Discipline states, Wesley believed that the living core of the
Christian faith was revealed in Scripture, illuminated by tradition, vivified in personal experience, and
confirmed by reason . This statement outlines the concept of the Wesleyan Quadrilateral. Interestingly,
John Wesley never actually used the term quadrilateral and the American Methodist scholar, Albert C.
Outler, who later stated that he regretted doing so as it has been misconstrued, named it. As for John
Wesley, he was an 18th century British Evangelist who is credited for founding the Methodist
Christian movement. The Wesleyan Quadrilateral provides the format for an organized study of
Theology. The four properties are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is imperative that we as humans study scripture reasonably and not view it in an irrational manner.
Tradition Tradition is the next aspect of the Quadrilateral. Wesley recognized that traditions that the
biblical followers of God and Christ developed are of extreme importance and we should embrace,
emulate and teach them to each of our generations. Traditions allow us to remember where we came
from and the heritages that were developed and shaped us. Traditions like baptism and communion are
examples of actionable traditions that keep us aware and focused on Christ and that He is alive in our
hearts and minds. He also realized that man inspired traditions make the Word of God ineffectual and
we should not fall prey to recognizing them as having merit. Experience Experience is the remaining
and probably most powerful aspect of the Quadrilateral. Wesley believed that our personal experience
with God leads us through life. It confirms God s presence in our lives and the world through both
practical experiences and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life. It is to be noted that this is not just
any experience that a person has, but the Christian experience that confirms Christ is now abiding in
our lives. It is the experience of the Holy Spirit and proof of the existence of God that we are His
children. Experience is also

Essay about Mittell’s Television Genre Theory and Louie
Originally published in Cinema Journal 40, No. 3, Spring 2001, Jason Mittell s A Cultural Approach to
Television Genre Theory conceives of television genre as a cultural category rather than merely a
textual component. In the decade since the original publishing of the article, television has evolved out
of the multi channel era and into the post network era. In this new television landscape, genres are no
longer a fixed entity1, and there is great academic potential in the in the study of television genres.
The text, Thinking Outside the Box: A Contemporary Television Genre Reader, aims to explore and
analyze genre in the current television landscape, and the Mittell article, republished in the book,
serves as an entry point to such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, this concept of genre will be applied to the development of the central questions in my final
project.
LOUIE: A GENERIC DISCOURSE
Mittell suggests that genre studies should negotiate between specificity and generality, and offers the
following as an approach: The second way would be to start with a specific media case study and
analyze how genre processes operate within this specific instance. Such projects might isolate a
variety of starting points an industrial formation, audience practices, a textual instance, a policy
decision, or a moment in social history. We may start with a textual case to motivate our study, but we
must still examine how genres transcend textual boundaries and operate within audience and industry
practices as well.3 Also, according to the article, we should focus on the breadth of discursive
enunciations around any given instance, mapping out as many articulations of genre as possible and
situating them within larger cultural contexts and relations of power.4 So, any generic discourse must
begin with a full understanding of the context of a particular text in this case, Louie.
Louis C.K. is one of the most influential and respected stand up comedians working today. He has
written for The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with

Bipolar Disorder or Manic Depression
Bipolar disorder is also known by many as manic depression. It is a serious mental disorder that is
associated by sever changes in a person s mood, the mood changes range from feeling low and
depressed to being manic, these changes are the typical symptoms of Bipolar disorder. Bipolar
disorder is a mental illness caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, and can be managed with
therapy and medication. The episodes can last for days, hours or can be very short. Bipolar disorder
affects both women and men. There is no known cause, but the symptoms start between the ages of 15
25, and mainly occur in people who have family members with Bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder has
been around for a long time .Bipolar disorder can be traced to earliest recorded history to present day.
Thousands of years ago, the Greeks recognized the vacillation between elation and depression. It wasn
t until the end of the 20th century that the disease was legitimized by congress. Bipolar comes from
Julies Falret, in 1854 used the phrase folie circulaire which means circular insanity (A Brief History
paragraph 2). Mr. Falret was the one who made the connection between suicide, depression and the
bouts of mania. He also found out that Bipolar disorder was common in families and believed it to be
genetic. Mr. Falert s findings were finally accepted as a psychiatric disorder, it was labeled as Manic
Depressive Psychosis about 21 years later. Around the same time people thought that schizophrenia

How Did Ww1 Affect Canada
gained Canada international praise and Canada was able to prove what we could do as a nation and
this led to a more independent Canada. As the countries signed the Treaty of Versailles, Britain
allowed Canada to sign the Treaty of Versailles as well, planting the first seeds of Canadian autonomy.
To conclude, World War I had a major impact on Canadian identity and led to a change in Canadian
independence from Britain. Furthermore, World War I is Canada s most defining moment because of
Canada s war efforts. As stated, the military efforts from Canada were huge and it played a huge role
in the defeat of the Axis. But, it is important to note that it was not just military efforts that Canada put
forth towards its war efforts, there were other factors involved as well. Canada invoked conscription
during this time as part of their war efforts. This even created problems between English and French
Canada. As the romantic idea of war was destroyed when people realized the amount of casualties at
war, many men did not volunteer to go to war themselves. The people who went to war came back in
terrible conditions. In 1917, Sam Hughes stated that only 5% of soldiers were French Canadians and
that they should go to war as well. Obviously, French Canadians were not too happy to ... Show more

Bend It Like Beckham Analysis
Bend It Like Beckham , directed by Gurinder Chadha is a 2002 comedic sports film, based in London,
England. The plot follows an athletic 18 year old girl; Jesminder Bhamra and her strict parents who
detest Jess passion and love for playing soccer as it refutes their family s Indian Sikh religious morals.
Jess feels a lot of pressure and guilt throughout the film as she is ultimately betraying her family, yet
everyone in her team supports her, including the coach, Joe who tries to convince Jess that her parents
don t always know what s best for her. In every family, there is often a distinct line between what a
person wants to do and achieve, compared to what their parents and family members expect of them.
This cliché can be easily applied to many of the characters including Tony Jess best pal, Juliet Paxton
the player who suggested Jess joined the local team and Jess with their conflicts between their
families. Aside from being the main character in the film, Jesminder suffers the worst conflict between
her parents and family, throughout the entire storyline. Despite her parent s wishes and concerns
towards Jess passion, she makes the decision to secretively continue to spend hours in the local park
playing with other passionate male players whenever she could spare the time. This soon brought on
an offer from a player from the local soccer team, who was amazed by Jess skills, and she soon joined
the team, all without her parent s knowing. As mentioned earlier,

  • 2. What Is The Theories Of Three Human Development Theorists,... Human development is an essential aspect in early childhood education. This essay is going to discuss the theories of three human development theorists, Urie Bronfenbrenner, John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth s. Bronfenbrenner s Ecological Systems theory is concerned with family, cultural and social influences and all the other environmental elements. Bowlby s Attachment theory and Stages of attachment and Ainsworth s Strange Situation research which breaks down attachment into three types are related to the relationship between adults and children. These theories are all associated with socio cultural theory, which is throughout the New Zealand early childhood curriculum Te whariki (Ministry of Education, 1996). Bronfenbrenner (Sigelman Rider, 2014) created an ecological system model which illustrates both direct and indirect influences (these influences are bi directional) in an individual s growth environment. This ecological system consists of five systems which all have an individual as their same centre and gradually extend from this individual to the last and largest system, including minute but immediate impacts like a bee in the garden that stung this individual and macroscopical but subtle impacts like global warming. Meanwhile, they are inclusive, as Te Whariki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, describes it as a set of nested Russian dolls (The Ministry of Education, 1996, page.19), which means these in systems, one contains another. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the time of the Great depression many people were homeless and unemployed. It was caused by enormous growth of goods and prices of shares in the United States during 1920s. Companies were producing more products than they could sell, while most Americans could not afford it because they were too poor. Also investors borrowed money from banks to buy shares so they could sell them for quick profits when prices rose. In 1920s this caused share prices reached unrealistic amounts and when investors lost confidence they rushed to sell shares, prices collapsed. Results in this huge fall meant demands for goods vanished and people were left unemployed and banks closed while poverty spread. Australia also was affected because Australia owed a large and increasing amount of interest to overseas lenders. Many works were left unemployed and in 1932 employment rates were 29.0. A picture of an Australia family can be seen on page 16 source 4 of History alive. The family was living in a shantytown which was built on wastelands. • 4. 2.0 Arguments For Software Piracy Essay 2.0 Arguments for software piracy In economical and ethical terms, they are different arguments used to defend the practice of Software Piracy. For example, some customers might say purchasing software is expensive so the computer dealers pirate the software and sell it to the customers for a lower price which consists of a bit torrent , this is protecting the customers. 2.1 Cost As broadband internet technology continues to flourish, the price of software continues to increase. Some people have the opinion that software costs too much which leads them to pirate software at a lower price as it is expensive to purchase it commercially [9]. This is beneficial to the people that suffer financially and don t have a good paid job which is likely to help them with the cost of the software. Pirating software also comes in handy for the university students as it is not always available at low cost and most good software costs hundreds to thousands and this is the amount that students can t afford when it comes to purchasing software such as Microsoft in order to get their projects and assignments done without money to purchase the original software. Therefore, software piracy casts significant benefits to those who cannot afford the software at such a great price. With some consumer software packages costing up to $500, the amount of money saved by pirating is not negligible [9]. Consumers also believe that manufactures are not hurt by pirates making illegal copies of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Changes In The Endocrine System The endocrine system is made up of organs and tissues that produce hormones. Hormones are natural chemicals produced in one place, secreted into the bloodstream and then used by other organs and target systems. Hormones control the target organs. Some organic systems have their own internal control systems in place of the hormones or together with them. As we get older, natural changes occur in the way in which body systems are controlled. Some target tissues become less sensitive to the hormone that controls them. The amount of hormones produced can also change. The blood levels of some hormones increase, those of others decrease and those of some others remain unchanged. Hormones also break down (metabolize) more slowly. Many of the organs that produce hormones are controlled by other hormones. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This region produces hormones that control other structures in the endocrine system. The amount of these regulatory hormones remains almost the same, but the response from the endocrine organs can change as we get older. The pituitary gland is also located in the brain. This gland reaches its maximum size when people reach middle age and then gradually becomes smaller. The thyroid gland is located in the neck. This gland produces the hormones that help control the metabolism. With age, said gland can become protruding (nodular). The metabolism decreases with time, beginning around 20 years of age. Because thyroid hormones are produced and broken down (metabolized) at the same rate, tests of thyroid function are usually still normal. In some people thyroid hormone levels may rise, leading to an increased risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. The parathyroid are four small glands located around the thyroid. Parathyroid hormone affects calcium and phosphate levels, which affect bone strength. The levels of parathyroid hormones rise with age, which can contribute to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Socrates Essay SOCRATES Socrates was a Greek philosopher who lived between 470 399 B.C. He turned Greek attention toward questions of ethics and virtue and away from those of the heavenly bodies. Socrates spent much time in the Agora (marketplace) where he held conversations with townspeople. Socrates believed that real truth could be found out through thought and collaboration with others. He was known for exposing ignorance, hypocrisy, and conceit. Despite having many followers, Socrates was disliked by most Athenians. At the age of 70, he was convicted of atheism, treason and corruption of the young. He was originally ordered to leave Athens, but chose to drink poison instead. But after Athens lost her empire by losing the Peloponnesian War and had undergone two oligarchic reigns of terror at the hands of the gilded, Socratified rich kids, her patience with Socrates ended. Socrates was charged in 399 B.C. with quot;impiety against the gods of the city quot; and with quot;corrupting the young. quot; He was guilty on all counts. Socrates basic premise of government according to Xenophon s quot;Memorabilia quot; was quot;that it is the business of the ruler to give orders and of the ruled to obey. quot; So the ruler should have total, unaccounted power. The second charge against Socrates, that he had corrupted the youth of Athens, was even more damning. The foremost examples of the gilded youth he led astray was Alcibiades and Critias, although Socrates effect on the rich young aristocratic fops was already mentioned in Aristophanes quot; The Birds, quot; written in 414 B.C., fifteen years before he was called to account: Why, till ye built this city in the air, _____ line 1280 All men had gone Laconian mad; they went __ [Spartan mad] Long haired, half starved, unwashed, Socratified, With scytales in their hands; but Oh the change! • 7. Online Shopping Conduct And Internet Shopping Essay INTRODUCTION Online shopping is almost to synonymous to customary shopping through brick and mortar stores. As indicated by UCLA Center for Communication Policy, online shopping has been rising as a standout among the most famous web exercises, marginally behind e mailing and internet surfing and in addition surpasses online entertainment search and online news. Online shopping conduct (additionally called web purchasing conduct and Internet shopping/purchasing conduct) implies to the procedure of buying merchandise/goods or services by means of the Internet. In a standard online shopping procedure, potential customer s see/feel/sense a necessity for some good or service and they approach to online shopping to search about the product/service and make a purchase decision to gratify the need. In some cases, instead of looking for intentionally, once in a while potential customers are pulled in by information about merchandise or services joined with the felt need. They then evaluate decisions and pick the specific alternative that best fits their criteria for meeting the obliged need. Finally, the purchase is made and post purchase services are given. In this term paper I explore the various attitudes, behaviors and traits exhibited by consumers during this online purchase decision, factors which facilitate and influence their decision making. • 8. A Case Study On South Florida Real Estate 7. A Case Study Let s imagine you have to sell a rather expensive condo in Hallandale Beach, Florida, which is essentially a middle class town right north of Miami with a splash of a luxury building here or there, and you happen to have this property for sale in one of those luxury buildings with the market price more than twice the average price around town. So, it is hard to think that a local interest would be extremely high, plus you know that a neighbor s apartment has been sitting on the market with a local real estate agent for a while without a good and solid offer, plus there is a bit of an issue with some banks to approve mortgages for this building. It is really time to think of reaching foreign investors in South ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The easiest and logical step is to search the Canadian field www.google.ca in English. Oh, no luck either, the competition is also very tough. French speaking Canadians from the province of Quebec love Florida and French at the same time. Searching Canadian Google in French for immobilier à Hallandale Beach Floride (the translation that we got from the free online translator and consider correct, but who knows?) we can see not so overcrowded environment, no big names and no paid ads at all which means that you can be a good appealing choice for about five million French Canadians if they see your condo for sale in French posted by a French speaking Canadian realtor. Canadian real estate prices had never fallen along with American because of much stronger mortgage approval rules in Canada, and just a couple of years ago Canadians used to borrow against their expensive homes in Canada to buy cheap Florida homes for their future retirement with this cash. • 9. The Toronto Maple Leafs And The Nhl May 13, 2013 A day that will go down in history as one of the most devastating days for fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs. After an 113 day lockout at the beginning of the season, the Leafs made the playoffs for the first time in 9 years. They were playing the Boston Bruins in the first round and made it all the way to game 7. Leafs fans around the world were glued to their TV s as they watched their team build a seemingly impenetrable 4 1 lead with 15 minutes to go in the third period, all they had to do was hang on to it... The Bruins added a second goal with 9:18 remaining, and then the unthinkable happened. In the span of thirty one seconds, Boston netted their third and fourth of the game to tie things up with only seconds remaining, sending the game to overtime. There s nothing more exciting and nerve wracking than Game Seven overtime, but unfortunately for the Toronto Maple Leafs, their dreams of winning the cup were once again extinguished. They added another year since the last time they won the coveted Stanley Cup: 46 years and counting (now up to 48 years in 2016) the longest drought without a Cup for any NHL team in history. Yet even with such a long drought without a cup, Maple Leaf fans remain some of the most loyal and dedicated in all of professional sports. The team also brings in some of the highest revenues in all of the NHL. How can a losing team be one of the most profitable? Leading next, the second part of the program goes over 18th and 19th centuries and how many scientists and physicists harnessed the power of electricity and magnetism and created practical devices and how these devices complete transformed the way people lived and continues to do so today. In the third episode, Khalili finishes up the story with how what we applied what we have learned in the past 200 years to connect the world with electricity via networks and broadcasting. He explains that our era is defined by electricity, and how our understanding of electricity is proportional to our reliance upon it. The first episode starts us off with Isaac Newton and Francis Hauksbee in the Royal Society and the experiments they created. One of the first experiments regarding electricity involved a spinning glass hollow sphere vacuum. In a dark room, as the glass span, Hauksbee placed his hand very near the surface without touching it, and light emitted from inside the glass. This experiment was groundbreaking since it was the first time mankind had seemingly created a power reserved to the All Mighty. Even though this discovery was groundbreaking, its practicality was nearly nil. Conjurors and street magicians called themselves electricians and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There was a reduction in the growth of M. luteus with Staphylococcus spp; although the contrary was expressed in cohesion assay. The current study also has investigated the inhibitory effect of lactose, sucrose and pronase in the coaggregation. Sato et al (1984) demonstrated that coaggregation between actinomycetes and streptococci occurred via lectin like substances (i.e. substances similar or identical to proteins that bind sugars) on the surface of actinomycetes with carbohydrate(s) on the surface of streptococci.47 Pre treating Staphylococcus spp. with lactose and sucrose inhibited the coaggregation which indicates the involvement of Staphylococci lectins in the coaggregation which again resembles the finding of the previous study. • 12. Parable Of The Black Veil The mystery, curiosity and suspicion that an ordinary old man can bring to himself with only wearing a black veil. Mr. Hooper the minister with a black veil has everyone interested in what he has to hide, not only that but also understand why he began to wear it in the first place. This black veil alone had costed him many things like his wife, his friends, and the children to fear him. in this manner Mr. Hooper spent a long life, irreproachable in outward act, yet shrouded in dismal suspicions; kind and loving, though unloved, and dimly feared; a man apart from men (1259) , yet the protagonist does not take it off no matter what others say about him. He keeps his veil on to teach a lesson and to prove that the black veil is the item that keeps their secrets hidden. He keeps the veil on as a representation of not only his secret sin but also wears it to represent the darkness that humanity has committed. Yet after wearing this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To start, the black veil is the symbol of sin and also proves that no one in this life or any other life is perfect. After that comes the thought that everyone, even myself, has a symbolic veil, similar to that of Mr. Hooper, that covers our sins from others. The final theme represented in this story would be that people should not focus on the sins of others but instead look at their own sins. To look for a way of redemption to their own sins before they could start looking at other people s sins. So to sum it up the main theme of this is that everyone commits sins and of course this is a normal thing because no one in this world is perfect. It was written in 1971 by Don McLean and filled with his views on the state of society, political changes, and cultural changes. The cultural changes and the loss of everything society knew produced the lost generation that McLean was apart of. He demonstrated his disapproval of the direction of the country by using music, faith, and war as examples of the changes and loss his generation faced. Music heavily influences and creates a voice for the people of the time period it is written in and also reflects the tone of the time period. Mclean s generation was impacted greatly by classic rock and roll artists, such as Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. Music direction and message portrayed the prosperous nature of the 1950s and what life was like before the 1970s. The change in music direction rooted from a tragedy that Mclean recognized with the verse, But February made me shiver . In February 3, 1959 Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson died in a plane crash. Theses musicians were Mclean s heroes and rock and roll legends. McLean considered this to be the day the music died . After their deaths, music drastically changed. The Cantigas De Santa Maria Essay The Cantigas de Santa Maria is one of the largest collections of monophonic songs from the Middle Ages and is branded by the mention of the Virgin Mary in all 427 songs. The Cantigas are written in Galician Portuguese, a poetic language in Castile at the time. The musical forms within the Cantigas, are still being studied. There is a plethora of variations, but no musical forms have been considered standard. In my analysis, I noticed a relationship between the refrain and the end of the stanzas which tend to repeat the same melodic material. The refrain begins the poem and is repeated after each stanza; in addition, the final portion of the stanza is displayed on the refrain, beckoning its imminent return. Each Cantiga has very in depth syllabic patterns that work in attendem with the repeated refreain After reviewing the translations of my Cantigas it seems the verse of the repeated refrain ties in the moral of the poem and offers praise to Holy Mary. An example is the refrain in Cantiga 36, a ship at sea. We should all love with all our will the lady who frees us from troubles and storms. The refrain in my opinion eludes to the idea of storm being a metaphor for the trouble you face in everyday life, and you must praise in the storm so that the Virgin Mary can eviscerate the darkness in your life. Another stand out feature of the Cantigas are the illuminations that accompany them in the codices. These beautiful illustrations map out the story of the Cantiga, and ... • 25. Collectivism Is More Rational Than Belief I will be using rationality as the main criterion for evaluating which philosophy is preferable, so the resolution can basically be re stated as belief in collectivism is more rational than belief in individualism . My case revolves around 3 independently functioning reasons for why an affirmation of the resolution is more plausible than a negation of it. I. Collectivism increases the chances of individual success The logic underlying this is simple. A society, by definition, is a group of individuals. So when we value the interests of society , we are really just valuing the interests of the largest possible number of individuals within that society we are valuing the interests of the majority. And since an individual is statistically more likely to part of the majority than the minority (duh), collectivism ensures that any given individual is more likely to have their interests protected than not. Thus, theoretically, collectivism increases the probability of individual prosperity. However, this is not only demonstrable in theory; we can see empirical examples of this holding true in practice as well. Just take a look at nature we can easily observe a large variety of species that instinctively live in large, interactive groups in which collective welfare is valued over individual welfare wolves, elephants, lions, chimpanzees, meerkats, bison, sheep, antelopes, ants, bees, ducks, small fish, and many more fall into this category.
