Business Analysis Of Dayton Company
Section One Business Analysis
Target Corp. began in 1881 as Dayton Dry Goods Company in Minneapolis by George Draper
Dayton. Mr. Dayton heralded his company as having dependable merchandise, fair business practice,
and a generous spirit of giving. The company continued to thrive and in 1902, became the 4th largest
department store in Minneapolis when it partnered with Goodfellow s Dry Goods Company. In 1911,
after becoming a sole owner, Mr. Dayton renamed the company to Dayton Company. In 1920, Dayton
Company revolutionized the way merchandise was transported across the United States when they
started using airplanes when a freight handlers strike occurred, stopping ground transportation. We can
see the effects of this today.

Finally, Target opens a store outside of Minneapolis, in the Denver metro area. The Target stores
continue to open up across the country over the next 20+ years. The company also opens its first
distribution center in 1969. By the year 2000, Target Corporation has stores in 47 of the 50 United
States and has opened its 1000th store. In 2005, the company exceeds $50 billion in annual sales for
the first time in its history. By 2012, Hawaii and Alaska had joined the states with Target stores. In
2013, Target opened stores in Canada, only to close them in 2015.
In recent years, Target Corp. has made the headlines with its involvement in LGBT awareness and
equality. Target removed its boys and girls labels on the toys and clothing department and, most
recently, made its bathroom gender neutral.
Target Corp. (TGT) is considered Miscellaneous General Merchandise Stores with a SIC number of
5399 or All Other General Merchandise Stores with an NAICS code of 452990. The stores sell just
about anything that a household should need. They pride themselves on their low prices, yet they
strive to ensure their products are of high quality and current.
Target Corp s top competitors include Wal Mart, Costco, and Meijer (Meijer is a regional chain, the
competition is present only where Meijers are located.) All of these companies offer a wide range of
products at discount prices. Wal Mart is known for the lowest price,

Prosthetic Log Personal Statement
As a Process Improvement Consultant at Children s Healthcare of Atlanta, I worked alongside service
line members redesigning processes for operational functions. As an engineer, I was trained to be
tactical and often omitted a critical element, the end user. That is until I picked up a prosthetic leg in
the Orthotics and Prosthetics laboratory. I realized the prosthetic leg contained more than just aspects
of technology. It was a life saving tool that needed to be created and handled with care. I was
challenged to improve the production and ensure a high caliber of outputs that ultimately improved
patients quality of life. Because of my redesign of the production line, the laboratory increased device
manufacturing productivity and pushed out more quality products to patients. ... Show more content

Healthcare is a constantly growing industry and has continued to peak my interest as I have identified
ways to optimize and personalize care delivery. As an aspiring Healthcare Consultant, I seek to gain
the business knowledge, industry expertise, and leadership skills required to address the health care

The Rights Of A Contract
For a contract to be created there has to be an offer, acceptance, intention of legal consequence, and
consideration. Capacity comes under the umbrella of contract law. It can be defined as a person s
capability entering in to a legal contract or agreement and be bound by it. Upex (2008) has said all
persons have full legal power to enter into any legal contract they wish and thus bind themselves .
Capacity can be categorized under three headings; Individuals, Corporations and Partnerships. There
are exceptions to the rule of entering a contract which includes minors, people with a mental illnesses,
or who are under the influence of alcohol. These groups of people are seen as having no capacity, or
incapacity. If any of these issues are present at the time they are entering in to the contract then it can
then be seen as unenforceable or will be queried. Under the Family Law Reform Act 1969 a minor is
seen as a person under the age of 18. The main statute which minors are governed by is the Minors
Contract Act 1987. It states a contract made by a minor is not void; and although the minor is not
normally bound, the other party will be. Minors are seen as having limitations when entering in to
contracts, and therefore there are some immunities to the rule. This includes necessaries and none
necessaires, voidable contracts, or non binding contracts which have been ratified. In terms of the
necessaries, The Sale of Goods Act 1979 says that goods suitable to the condition

Analysis Of Marjane In Persepolis
Location and childhood are two major components that make up someone s identity. A person is
shaped by the world around them and how they see themselves within it. For Marjane in Persepolis
(Marjane Satrapi, Vincent Paronnaud), this is rather difficult as her identity has been formed both
through her life in Iran and the liberal, western political views held by her family. The film portrays
her childhood in Iran and her teen years in Austria, through a simplistic form that show the differences
in ideologies and the universality of their problems. This paper aims to examine the contribution of the
form of the film, the style of the film, and the plot in showing the comparison and universality
between western and eastern ideologies and the formation of an adult in a world of these two
ideologies. Persepolis alternates between the present and the past in the life of Marjane, telling the
story of her childhood years in Iran, her teen years in Austria, and finally her adulthood and realizing
that she does not quite fit in in either location. This narrative style allows reflection from adult Marji,
who is recounting her stories. The viewer must recognize that many thoughts are not child Marji s, but
adult Marji s after growth and reflection. Therefore, when her childhood is being recounted, this is the
product of years of memories that are contributing to the retelling of this one time. The narration
reveals more about the events that have affected and influenced Marji because

She s forty; he s twenty. Will buppie champion Stella (Angela Bassett), a single parent with a
depleting, lucrative employment as a stockbroker in San Francisco, discover bliss with Winston (Taye

There s no motivation behind why she won t evoke genuine emotion again with this film, co

Judaism Truly Value The Culture Of Non Violence
The wolf shall lie with the lamb and the leopard with the kid. Isaiah 11:6. One of the more commonly
known verses from the Hebrew bible. There are many verses such as this that express the longing for a
culture without violence that is attributed to the ethical values of Judaism. Upon further research
including an ethnographic study it was clear that followers of Judaism truly value the culture of non
violence. It is these ethics and values within the Judaistic tradition for the development of non
violence that are invaluable for contemporary society as they help to create a safer civilisation.
Firstly, the Torah or Hebrew bible has many different examples and teachings on violence, non
violence, punishment and war (Freeman, 2015). Isaiah 2:4 states He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughshares And their
spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war
anymore. The thirst for a world without violence is clearly portrayed in this passage and it appears to
reflect one of the strongest values of Judaism. However in Joel 4:9 10 this idiom is reused in a far
more barbaric manner (Heft, 2004). Announce this to the nations: Proclaim a holy war! Alert the
warriors! Let all the soldiers report and march! Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your pruning
knives into spears; Let the weakling boast, I am a warrior! Of these passages, which shows

Persuasive Essay About Legalizing Marijuana
In a survey of more than 216,000 teens, results indicated that marijuana use is drastically falling.
Along with this, the number of pot related problems is going down with it. It s possible that this is just
one of the many positive effects of legalization but maybe kids these days have certain distractions to
curb their drug appetite. VR porn might be the culprit.
MORE MARIJUANA LESS PROBLEMS
A wise prophet once said mo money, mo problems . That phrase turns out to be rather interchangeable
suggesting the more one has of anything, the more conflict it creates. An outlier to this theory is
medical marijuana. Opposers thought that an increase in legal marijuana would lead to in influx in
drug use among adolescents and adults. They got half of that right. Despite numerous states legalizing
and decriminalizing pot, use by young people is falling at record rates while the number of adults
using the drug has increased.

awakened when our soil i.e our body s strength in terms of immunity goes down. Why we start getting
degenerated early or in better way One should ask oneself : What can I do to my body to reverse the
process of degeneration there by leading to healthy life there by shunning dis ease. So, what one can
do to live better, live longer ? Although the techniques are well known as they are rooted in our day to
day life but due to modernization we tend to neglect them. You need to catch up.........

Elliptic Curve Cryptology Used to Make Keys
Elliptic Curve Cryptology
What and Why of ECC?
Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is a public key cryptography technique by making use of elliptic
curve properties and their algebraic structure of over finite fields. It is one of the efficient ways of
providing encryption of cryptographic keys.
Elliptic curves as algebraic/geometric entities have been studied extensively for the past 150 years,
and from these studies has emerged a rich and deep theory. Elliptic curve systems as applied to
cryptography were first proposed in 1985 independently by Neal Koblitz from the University of
Washington, and Victor Miller, who was then at IBM, Yorktown Heights.[1]
These curves have allowed establishment of a new generation of asymmetric ... Show more content on

We take another point Q on the curve. We compute R = P + Q. It is a graphical operation consisting of
tracing a line through P and Q. This line defines a unique intersection with the EC: the point R. R is
found by taking the symmetric point with respect to the x axis (see figure 2).
Figure 2 Example of addition
Formally:
P = (x1,y1)
Q = (x2,y2)
R = P + Q = (x3,y3)
Where,
x3 = ө 2 x1 x2 y3 = ө (x1 + x3) y1 with ө = (y2 y1)/(x2 x1).
If P = Q, R = P + Q is equivalent to adding a point to itself: doubling point P.
Doubling
The operation needs a single point and consists of finding a point 2P. We draw a tangent line to the EC
at point P. This line intersects the curve in a point R. Reflecting this point across the x axis gives R: R
= 2P. See figure 3.
Formally: the only difference with an addition is the definition of ө. ө = (3x1 + a)/2y1
Figure 3 Example of doubling a point P
Calculations over the real numbers are slow and inaccurate due to round off error. Cryptographic
applications require fast and precise arithmetic; thus elliptic curve groups over the finite fields of Fp
and Fm2 are used in practice.[1]

digital signature algorithm (DSA) is described below.

Count Of Monte Cristo Accuracy
Historical Movie Analysis: The Count of Monte Cristo (2002)
The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) was written by Jay Wolpert and directed by Kevin Reynolds. It was
based on the novel of the same name written by Alexander Dumas and Auguste Maquet in 1844. The
movie was met with moderate financial and critical success making $75.4 million dollars off a budget
of $35 million and receiving a 73% on rotten tomatoes. But statistics aside how historically accurate
and relevant is The Count of Monte Cristo? That is the question I will be answering in this short paper
but before I go over the historical accuracies and inaccuracies let me give you a brief summery of the
movie to give you a better idea of the world and time period this movie tries to portray. ... Show more

Surprisingly to me I couldn t find too many historical inaccuracies in this movie. The settings of
scenes match up well with 1800s France and all of the architecture is generally similar to French
architecture of the time period. Where I found the most inaccuracies was in the clothes that the
characters wore. Doing a little research on the fashion of the 1800s, specifically 1815 1844 when the
story takes place, I found that the style of clothes that the characters wear would be nearly half a
century old, the clothes worn in the film being more reminiscent to late 1700s fashion. Not to mention
the total negation of hats in the film which were a staple of men s fashion throughout the 1800s. But
the most glaring inaccuracy, concerning fashion of the time, are the clothes that are worn by the Count
of Monte Cristo himself, Edmond Dantès. In what I assume to be an artistic design choice to make the
count seem more regal or foreign, as he tries to appear as if he s not from France, only comes off as
odd and off putting for the time period. Unfortunately since the story of The Count of Monte Cristo is
a fictional story there isn t a lot more that I can compare to real world events that took place during the
time period, however I can go over some events that the film

Saint Ignatius Of Loyola Personal Writings
The book, Saint Ignatius of Loyola Personal Writings, was translated by Joseph A. Munitiz and Philip
Endean and first published in 1996. This book contains many aspects of St. Ignatius life, from his
reminiscences to his spiritual exercises. Inigo Lopez de Loyola was born in 1491 in Spain, the
youngest of 13 children. Inigo became a soldier at the age of 18 and began to refer to himself at
Ignatius. Ignatius becomes a man obsessed with his image and a life of luxury until his conversion
into a devout catholic. Saint Ignatius of Loyola Personal Writings tells the story of St. Ignatius early
life obsessed with his image, and his transformation into his ultimate obsession with living a life
dedicated to Christ, that I believe may have interfered with his growing relationship with God.
St. Ignatius lived his life in vain. He was too concerned with his outward appearance, and his
reputation among others. In battle, his legs were badly injured. Even through the excruciating pain, he
made an effort to show no outer sign of discomfort. When his legs had healed, one leg was left with an
unsightly misconfiguration from the healing of the bones. He underwent another, even more, painful
surgery to fix his outer appearance. During his long recovery, St. Ignatius read about the life of Christ
and the saints. As he learned more about the holy lives of the saints, St. Ignatius was converted and
was determined to live a life the way Christ and the saints did.
After St. Ignatius was

Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian Axis
The hypothalamic pituitary ovarian axis (HPO) is the regulatory axis of the reproductive system. The
principal regulatory hormone for the HPO axis is gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH); this
hormone is produced by neurons of the preoptic and arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus. The
hormone is released into the hypophyseal portal system, and stimulates the pituitary follicles, which
encourages hormone secretion. This in turn encourages the secretion of estradiol and progesterone by
the ovaries.
The hypothalamus pituitary adrenal axis (HPA) is part of the stress response system, and has the effect
of changing the organism s behavior in order to increase the organism s chances to survive the
stressful situation. When stress is present, the

The American Of The United States Army
As for the US Army, they had been given orders by which they had to abide which lacked defined
rules of engagement. This meant that they had to complete the mission, and their superiors did not
necessarily care if the natives were pleased or harmed with the outcomes. As far as they were
concerned, there was land that had not been claimed legally and they wanted it. This was a huge
change for the natives from when they had met Lewis and Clark on their journey exploring the
Louisiana Territory decades earlier because both parties involved were amicable and cooperative.
Even later when more white settlers came west and moved into lands the Indians once occupied, they
voluntarily moved onto reservations without major issues. This was accomplished fluidly because the
natives, unlike the white settlers, did not consider land to be owned by any person or group; land was
theirs to do with what they would, which was to survive and live rivers for water, animals for food,
and other natural resources to create their homes, clothes, and instruments. The Battle of Big Hole was
a demonstration of violence of action, and how rules of engagement have come to be created; the
natives would have easily sat down and discussed the matters encircling the massive amounts of land
available to them, but the settlers were misinformed and the government had a defense complex of
doing what needed to be done for their side, and not necessarily thinking about alternative options to
going in to battle

Mosaic CovenantAnd The Noahic Covenant, And The New...
God created the universe with absolute perfection. However, with the downfall of humanity stemming
from Original Sin, the Fallen spiraled its effects on mankind that carries forth today. As a result, many
catastrophic events have been recorded in the Bible, which are known as historical facts to Christians.
Because God is a loving and merciful God, He established the Noahic Covenant, Abrahamic
Covenant, Mosaic Covenant, Davidic Covenant, and the New Covenant that all relate and expand with
each other and provides hope for Jews and Christians in the past, today, and future.
After God washed the earth of evil by flood (Genesis 5:32 10:1), He created the Noahic Covenant
between Noah and his descendants. With accurate clarification to the Noahic Covenant, God makes an
unconditional promise to Noah and all descendants that He will never flood the earth again and seals
His vow with a rainbow across the clouds. Based on the unconditional promise made, God had no
expectations of Noah and his descendants (Genesis 9). Why did God feel the need to generate a bond
with Noah and his descendants? His compassion and mercy glorifies through His works and vows.
Busenitz highlights God s forgiveness stating, In the Noahic Covenant, God showed His gracious
mercy toward all mankind, both redeemed and unredeemed, causing it to rain on the just and the
unjust and assuring the ongoing, uninterrupted cycle of seasons (Busenitz, page 10, 1999).
Furthermore, one can also grasp that God remains

Trumansburg Fair Assignment
The community service that I participated in for this assignment is helping out at the Trumansburg

The Trumansburg Fair is a place of entertainment where the owners have amused people with games,
rides and prizes for 166 years.
I had to do a lot of things to do to prepare ourselves for this week of fun. When I first got to the
Fairgrounds at 10:30, they were expecting me. Some I recognized and some I did not. But they put me

First we got on a tractor to get to our destination. There was only one seat in the tractor so they told
me to sit on a piece of plywood nailed to the back of the tractor. It was actually fairly comfortable. ...

The Life Of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol
The Victorian Period lasted from 1832 to 1901 under Queen Victoria s reign. The culture revealed in
this era was a time of rapid change, social inequality, industrialization, supernatural and religious
beliefs, and was accurately reflected in the works of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol. Roles of
men and women were strictly defined, as were economic statuses. The hustle and bustle of the streets
led to illnesses. Working conditions were destitute and unsanitary. Children often had little to no
education, unless very fortunate. New advancements in technology arose, after the industrialization of
the United Kingdom began.
As a result of Queen Victoria s reign, a strict division between social classes was defined.

The cotton, coal, trade, and ship building industries were booming. Aside from shaping the historical
reality of the time, Dickens represented narrative pathways, perspectival frames, and models of
behavior that guided his modern society audience towards finding their places in a rapidly changing
industrial age(Fiske). He wrote the entertaining novella, A Christmas Carol, as an escape from the
world of modernity, into a world of spirituality. Regarding the religious beliefs in the Victorian Period,
Victorians were primarily characterized by Christianity. The term Victorian is familiar with social
decorums that encompass strong religious customs(Coleman). As a product of industrialization, the
traditional British Christmas we know today is not found in the midsts of history(Flanders). Charles
Dickens was partially responsible for Victorian England s regained Christmas spirit. He reflected the
themes of redemption, family, merriness, and Christmas spirit in his narrative. For example, The
Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. Oh, Jacob Marley! Heaven and the Christmas Time be
praised for this! I say it on my knees, old Jacob, on my knees!, Dickens demonstrated Scrooge s
redemption and new found Christmas spirit(Dickens 82). Religion during the Victorian Period had a
vast impact on Dickens writing, he wrote stories through his belief in Christianity. In addition to
strong religious beliefs, Victorians turned to supernatural ways of reasoning. Due

Vancouver Economic Development
The city of Vancouver has a history of economic development based on the transformation of some
industries into some other industries accumulating relatively more capital for the city economic
development. The large agricultural production was the main resource for the transformation of the
city at the beginning of the 20th century. After that, some people in business in the city accumulated
capital through trading their lands inside the city. These financial resources were the capital for the
first productions in the city. In 1906, the stock exchange market was opened in Vancouver. The
industrialization started with the agricultural production related industries. Vancouver had a mixed
race labor force from many different countries. A large number of workers were in Vancouver at the

city could develop an elastic production structure, and it is possible to create new industries as well as
the transformation of the old industries into new modern versions. This is important for the
sustainability of the economic and social development because, after the most recent global financial

necessary for tackling the adverse influences of the financial crises in the new era. Vancouver

Discuss The Causes Of The Spanish American War
The economic depression of the 1890s had combined with the advocacy for imperialism, as Senator
Albert J. Beveridge stated, But today we are raising more than we can consume. Today we are making
more than we can use...Therefore we must find new markets for our produce, new occupation for our
capital, new work for our labor. The theory to search for new land had become a reality when
opportunity presented itself in the form of Spanish conflicts. After the combination of various causes
such as intervention in Cuban affairs and the bombing of the USS Maine, The United States under the
leadership of President WIlliam McKinley declared war against the Spanish Empire. The Spanish
American War resulted in purely American domination in as few ... Show more content on

Their character is nothing more than a grave and specious insignificance. The unethical reporting of
yellow journalism had sparked controversy among the American people, immorally bringing the
nation to a pro war stance in order to gain readers. Hearst had also incited the public by publishing the
document known as the de Lome Letter, written by Spanish ambassador Enrique Dupoy de Lome in
1898. In his letter, de Lome had taunted President McKinley as weak and catering to the rabble and,
besides, a low politician. The publishing of the de Lome Letter had sparked bitterness towards Spain.
The yellow press had also sparked clamor in the sensationalizing of the sinking of the USS Maine. In
early 1898, President McKinley had sent the Maine to Havana, Cuba to protect American interests
from the ongoing riots between Cubans and Spaniards. As the Maine was peacefully sitting in the
Havana harbor, on February 15, an explosion ripped through the battleship, causing the ship s sinking
and the death of 266 sailers. The reporting of the bombing had been exaggerated

Plastic Surgery Is Not Always Evil
Is Plastic Surgery a helpful tool to modify your body in order to feel confident or just another deadly
weapon? Throughout the years, the word Perfect has caused a war between people and their physical
image causing them to make an outrageous decision of changing how they look and feel, not only on
the outside but also on the inside. They undergo many operations just to please others. Just like a Ying
Yang symbol; there s always bad in good, vice versus. Plastic surgery is not always evil. For example,
a young girl had gotten in a tragic fire accident which left her with a massive scar on her face and
body, this is where Plastic Surgery would be a useful tool. It would not only fix this girl s face but it
would also bring happiness and not to be teased and stared at everywhere she goes. Or if women were
to successfully fought breast Cancer but was only left with scars where her breast should be, this kind
of operation would help this woman bring confidence in who she was. These procedures with not only
get rid of traumatizing scars but also of horrible memories of how they got them. Walter Yeo, a British
sailor during World War I, is often cited as the first known person to have benefited from plastic
surgery.
Walter sustained terrible facial injuries, including the loss of his upper and lower eyelids, while
manning the guns aboard the HMS Warspite in 1916 during the Battle of Jutland.

Dirt Road Symbolism
Symbolism is an important part of any story. It can inspire emotions that captivate the reader,
foreshadow aspects of a story, or introduce you to how a character is portrayed. Nothing summarizes
these aspects of symbolism like O Connor does in the story, A Good Man is Hard To Find. Ranging
from the dirt road to the big black hearse, they inspire the truth to unfold like words could not do
otherwise.
The dirt road was hilly and there were sudden washes in it and sharp curves on dangerous
embankments (O Connor). The way the road is described suggests that it is a metaphor for the story
itself. The story did not start out calm and smooth just as the dirt road as described in the statement
above. Then, using the dirt road as the metaphor, it could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was a big black battered hearse like automobile (O Connor). The black hearse represents death is
coming for them. The color black and hearses are usually indicators of funerals. With the car being
driven this way, it is implied that the driver may not be there to help them.
The Misfit sprang back as if a snake had bitten him and shot her three times through the chest (O
Connor). The number of times the grandmother was shot is symbolic to Christ dying and His
resurrection three days later. All her life she was spiritually dead, until she physically died. At the
moment of her impending death, the grandmother experienced a spiritual uplifting. Just like Jesus
lifted from Earth back to Heaven.
After the entire family is murdered, a possible significance of the mention of five or six graves
becomes clear ( Flannery O Connor. Galileo. Web.). The car contained six people: Bailey, his wife, the
grandmother, June Star, John Wesley, and the baby. If the baby is buried with her mom, they will only
need five gravestones. If the baby is not buried with the mother, they will need

An Individual Of A Different Intersectionality From Myself...
The purpose of this review is to interview an individual of a different intersectionality from myself
and comparatively review literature that correlates to the individual s demographic position in the
community, their experiences and viewpoints in relation to social work practice. The referenced
literature is comprised of several scholarly articles regarding the interviewee s cultural background
and implications for social work practice among this distinct population.
The interview subject is a middle adulthood, Ultra Orthodox, Hasidic, Jewish, married female.
The tentative conclusions drawn regarding how social work practice can best assist persons from
within this cultural group were found to be based on religious authoritative preeminence. Most
Orthodox Jews will first turn to a rabbi for advice for either social or emotional issues.
Clinicians that work with this particular group need to be well versed in their strict religious customs
and schedule of religious observances. Rabbinical guidance is most assuredly a definitive factor in the
successful counseling of Hasidic clients.
Although studies have been conducted to measure the prevalence patterns of disorder in the Jewish
community, clinical diagnosis and treatment issues most common to this population are focused on
distinguishing religious behavior from pathological behavior and if religious intervention will be
beneficial to a client s treatment (Farkas, 2013).

LM Potencies:
Lm potencies are known as a fast, gentle and long lasting cure. Homeopaths use lm potencies to treat
hypersensitive patients mainly because they are more gentle. Lm potencies speed up the cure of
patients as well as lessen the aggravations. Hahnemann felt that centicimal potencies caused too much
of an aggravation which lead to a patient suffering. Lm potencies are made by diluting a remedy in a
ratio of 1 to 50000 at each step, while still succussing at 100. Due to the fast that the succussions are
low, the aggravations will be low and because it is diluted so many times it increases the strength of
the remedy. Lm potencies penetrate at a deep mental and emotional level. ... Show more content on

In the event that a fire does start, suppression activities would be carried out faster and more
effectively than those areas that have gone without treatment. Proof of this can be found within a
study that was done after the 2002 Biscuit Fire that happened within the Kalmiopsis Wilderness in
Southern Oregon. Scientists on a research team studied the damage of the fire in areas that had
previously been treated by having ground and ladder fuels removed via thinning/cutting and
prescribed underburning. These areas showed the least tree mortality of any other areas within the fire.
The areas with the highest tree mortality included those that had been thinned but ground fuels had not

Vague Expectations Of Masculinity In Heavy Metal
The vague notions of masculinity have substantial effects on an individual s self image. This statement
is verified through examining the ideological thinking that encompasses the genre of Heavy Metal.
Aspects of Heavy Metal can have an underlying connection to the ideals of masculinity. The vocal
techniques employed by the lead singer, Danny Worsnop, are often associated with the construct of
masculinity. While Otep vocalist, Otep Shamaya and Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy fame are
examples of women who utilise harsh vocals, these type of vocal growls are often perceived as taboo
for females. The female vocalists that do delve into this form of singing are often characterised as

The notion that the gender constructs of male and female are meant to be binary opposing cause
conflict as all individuals will have crossed between these definitions on occasions. This is evident
through examining the contemporary machinations of the Heavy Metal genre. The narration of the
song lyrically delves into the concept of lust, propelling this notion of masculinity. Therefore, this
creates an identity crisis for males which of whom do not fit within the emotionless and fornication
obsessed archetype. This outlook on the lust also remains within the realm of heterosexuality which
also indirectly degrades a homosexual male s identification with the concept of masculinity. A sense of
violence could also be determined through the lyrics, I see you cold, I feel you heartless. This double
entendre could be interpreted as a materialistic view of the protagonist towards the female or refer to
the protagonist murdering the female character. The ideal of masculinity, in regard to the careless
attitude towards women, does not alter regardless of which interpretation of this figurative language
the audience perceives. The strong themes within the lyrics promote a degrading image of women as
purely a sex object with the sole purpose to please the desires of men. This is evident within such
lyrics as, Make this night worth my time , Your thighs were made for cheeks to graze

Hunger or Starving and the Panther are two elements used in the story that are symbolically
implemented to pursue a certain path to the readers feelings. Hunger, as we all know, is a word that
denotes our body s involuntary reaction (physiological), however in the story Kafka recalls hunger as
a performance (artistic) as well. As the story suggests that he art of starvation is physically clear on the
artist s body of becoming skinny and weak it also suggests that the hunger of the artist is his starving
to his art to have a huge voice among most of the people. His desire to deliver his art to all people with
perfection is much more important to him than his need to food. However, as being clear in the story,
the artist lose his popularity through his time as the audience are searching for something to entertain

more interested and engaged with the animal. They prefer to watch and not live the life. Furthermore,

Transformation In A Christmas Carol
Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol was first published in London on the 19th of December 1843, the
novella was instantly popular and still is to this day. Dickens inspiration for the short story seems to
come from his childhood experiences and his sympathy for the poor. In the story a miserable old man,
Ebenezer Scrooge, is shown the error of his ways and what will come of it if he doesn t make drastic
changes. Various ghosts and spirits slowly transform him into a kinder more pleasant man. A
Christmas Carol is a powerful novella that uses symbolism like the children Ignorance and Want,
Scrooge s transformation, and Scrooges nephew Fred, to reinforce significant themes like social
isolation, rebirth, and family. Dickens wanted to show the theme of rebirth through Scrooges
transformation. Scrooge is changed from a humpy old man to a kinder nicer man, each stave
represents a step in the transformation process. In stave one, two men come into Scrooge s shop and
ask for a donation to help poor people in need, Scrooge gives them no money and asks why these
people are not in prisons or Union workhouses (Dickens 7). He feels by paying his taxes he has done
enough to help the poor. Scrooge goes on to say If they rather die...they had better do it and decrease
the surplus population (Dickens 7). But in stave 3, Scrooge sees that Tiny Tim, a young innocent boy,
will pass away in the future. Scrooge begs the second of the three spirits to spare his life, but the spirit

Sitis Inversus Essay
First seen and recognized in 1643 by Marco Severino, dextrocardia with situs inversus is a rare
condition that affects 1 in 10,000 people, or 0.1% of the population. The word, sitis inversus is a
shortened latin version of sitis inversus viscerum, which means inverted position of the internal
organs. The heart and organs are completely flipped (or mirrored ) opposite of what they normally
should be. Even though it s a rare condition, those who do have it can have some health issues that can
be serious, and others may not have issues at all.
It is a congenital condition and believed to be transmitted by autosomal recessive genes from the
parents, meaning each parent has to have this trait in order to pass it off to the offspring. If the embryo
receives only one gene, then that person will be a carrier of the condition but not physically have the

having a right sided aortic arch. In addition to the heart being backwards, the organs of digestion are
also backwards too. The liver is on the left, along with the gallbladder, and the spleen and stomach are

Another issue to watch out for are abdominal obstructions. Due to the organs being backwards, some

No Laws In Lord Of The Flies
Imagine if someone you loved was shot. You call the cops, but they say that there is nothing that can
be done because there are no laws saying they have to punish the criminal. If there were no laws,
criminal could get away with crimes like that repeatedly without any punishment. This is a prime
example of why laws are needed to keep society in order. The idea of rules in society has been around
since King Hammurabi created the first set of laws in 1760 B.C. Egyptian civilizations created laws so
that their society would last longer than other civilizations because people would respect their morals.

situational factors as seen above have been found to affect the level of obedience that somebody

People with a authoritarian personality may have a disposition to have a higher level of obedience.
Milgram found that the among the people who gave the highest shocks did indeed have a authoritarian

and cephalosporins. Staphyloccoci are the most important bacteria that cause disease in humans.
MRSA is sometimes branded as a nosocomial infection as it usually plagues patients that are receiving

cellulitis, folliculitis, or boils in the skin, but can also commonly be found in the nose, underarm,

Essay On Presidential Pardon Power
The Presidential Pardon Power and its Limits The power to pardon is not the most discussed power of
the President of the United States. However, there have been some controversial cases that sparked the
debate about limiting this power. This paper deals with the origins of this constitutional clause, its
limits and interpretations by the Supreme Court of the United States. I would like to mention some
controversial cases and connected debate about limiting this power. Origins of the Presidential Pardon
The roots of the pardon can be traced far back in the history. There are references to similar power in
Mosaic Law, Greek Law and Roman Law. However, the U.S. constitutional clause originated in the
English law. The law was applied in the colonies and the colonial governors held similarly broad
pardon powers as the Kings. Except a simple pardon, they could also grant conditional pardon to any
offender. The original plans for the Constitution did not contain a power of pardon. However, the main
proponents of pardoning power Charles Pinckney, Alexander Hamilton, and John Rutledge managed
to push through the inclusion of this clause. After a debate about this power during the Constitutional
Convention, the presidential pardon clause was added into the Constitution as one of the enumerated
powers of the President of the United States. It can be found in the Article II of the Constitution. It

  • 3. Prosthetic Log Personal Statement As a Process Improvement Consultant at Children s Healthcare of Atlanta, I worked alongside service line members redesigning processes for operational functions. As an engineer, I was trained to be tactical and often omitted a critical element, the end user. That is until I picked up a prosthetic leg in the Orthotics and Prosthetics laboratory. I realized the prosthetic leg contained more than just aspects of technology. It was a life saving tool that needed to be created and handled with care. I was challenged to improve the production and ensure a high caliber of outputs that ultimately improved patients quality of life. Because of my redesign of the production line, the laboratory increased device manufacturing productivity and pushed out more quality products to patients. ... I have developed a deeper level of empathy for how users engage with healthcare technology and found ways to incorporate user feedback in the design phases of subsequent consulting engagements. As an aspiring Healthcare Consultant, I seek to gain the business knowledge, industry expertise, and leadership skills required to address the health care challenges of our interdependent world. • 4. The Rights Of A Contract For a contract to be created there has to be an offer, acceptance, intention of legal consequence, and consideration. Capacity comes under the umbrella of contract law. It can be defined as a person s capability entering in to a legal contract or agreement and be bound by it. Upex (2008) has said all persons have full legal power to enter into any legal contract they wish and thus bind themselves . Capacity can be categorized under three headings; Individuals, Corporations and Partnerships. There are exceptions to the rule of entering a contract which includes minors, people with a mental illnesses, or who are under the influence of alcohol. These groups of people are seen as having no capacity, or incapacity. If any of these issues are present at the time they are entering in to the contract then it can then be seen as unenforceable or will be queried. Under the Family Law Reform Act 1969 a minor is seen as a person under the age of 18. The main statute which minors are governed by is the Minors Contract Act 1987. It states a contract made by a minor is not void; and although the minor is not normally bound, the other party will be. Minors are seen as having limitations when entering in to contracts, and therefore there are some immunities to the rule. This includes necessaries and none necessaires, voidable contracts, or non binding contracts which have been ratified. In terms of the necessaries, The Sale of Goods Act 1979 says that goods suitable to the condition ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of Marjane In Persepolis Location and childhood are two major components that make up someone s identity. A person is shaped by the world around them and how they see themselves within it. For Marjane in Persepolis (Marjane Satrapi, Vincent Paronnaud), this is rather difficult as her identity has been formed both through her life in Iran and the liberal, western political views held by her family. The film portrays her childhood in Iran and her teen years in Austria, through a simplistic form that show the differences in ideologies and the universality of their problems. This paper aims to examine the contribution of the form of the film, the style of the film, and the plot in showing the comparison and universality between western and eastern ideologies and the formation of an adult in a world of these two ideologies. Persepolis alternates between the present and the past in the life of Marjane, telling the story of her childhood years in Iran, her teen years in Austria, and finally her adulthood and realizing that she does not quite fit in in either location. This narrative style allows reflection from adult Marji, who is recounting her stories. The viewer must recognize that many thoughts are not child Marji s, but adult Marji s after growth and reflection. Therefore, when her childhood is being recounted, this is the product of years of memories that are contributing to the retelling of this one time. The narration reveals more about the events that have affected and influenced Marji because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Will buppie champion Stella (Angela Bassett), a single parent with a depleting, lucrative employment as a stockbroker in San Francisco, discover bliss with Winston (Taye Diggs), a stud she finds on an excursion in Jamaica? Such a great amount for plot. Writer Terry McMillan turned her own vacation sentiment with a more youthful man into top of the line fiction. There s no motivation behind why she won t evoke genuine emotion again with this film, co composed with Ron Bass, who likewise teamed up on the content of McMillan s Waiting to Exhale. • 7. Judaism Truly Value The Culture Of Non Violence The wolf shall lie with the lamb and the leopard with the kid. Isaiah 11:6. One of the more commonly known verses from the Hebrew bible. There are many verses such as this that express the longing for a culture without violence that is attributed to the ethical values of Judaism. Upon further research including an ethnographic study it was clear that followers of Judaism truly value the culture of non violence. It is these ethics and values within the Judaistic tradition for the development of non violence that are invaluable for contemporary society as they help to create a safer civilisation. Firstly, the Torah or Hebrew bible has many different examples and teachings on violence, non violence, punishment and war (Freeman, 2015). Isaiah 2:4 states He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughshares And their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. The thirst for a world without violence is clearly portrayed in this passage and it appears to reflect one of the strongest values of Judaism. However in Joel 4:9 10 this idiom is reused in a far more barbaric manner (Heft, 2004). Announce this to the nations: Proclaim a holy war! Alert the warriors! Let all the soldiers report and march! Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your pruning knives into spears; Let the weakling boast, I am a warrior! Of these passages, which shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Persuasive Essay About Legalizing Marijuana In a survey of more than 216,000 teens, results indicated that marijuana use is drastically falling. Along with this, the number of pot related problems is going down with it. It s possible that this is just one of the many positive effects of legalization but maybe kids these days have certain distractions to curb their drug appetite. VR porn might be the culprit. MORE MARIJUANA LESS PROBLEMS A wise prophet once said mo money, mo problems . That phrase turns out to be rather interchangeable suggesting the more one has of anything, the more conflict it creates. An outlier to this theory is medical marijuana. Opposers thought that an increase in legal marijuana would lead to in influx in drug use among adolescents and adults. They got half of that right. Despite numerous states legalizing and decriminalizing pot, use by young people is falling at record rates while the number of adults using the drug has increased. Persuasive Speech On Fight Cancer Cancers cells are present in all of us but lie dormant or we can say in sleeping............ only to be awakened when our soil i.e our body s strength in terms of immunity goes down. Why we start getting degenerated early or in better way One should ask oneself : What can I do to my body to reverse the process of degeneration there by leading to healthy life there by shunning dis ease. So, what one can do to live better, live longer ? Although the techniques are well known as they are rooted in our day to day life but due to modernization we tend to neglect them. • 10. Elliptic Curve Cryptology Used to Make Keys Elliptic Curve Cryptology What and Why of ECC? Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is a public key cryptography technique by making use of elliptic curve properties and their algebraic structure of over finite fields. It is one of the efficient ways of providing encryption of cryptographic keys. Elliptic curves as algebraic/geometric entities have been studied extensively for the past 150 years, and from these studies has emerged a rich and deep theory. Elliptic curve systems as applied to cryptography were first proposed in 1985 independently by Neal Koblitz from the University of Washington, and Victor Miller, who was then at IBM, Yorktown Heights.[1] These curves have allowed establishment of a new generation of asymmetric ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We take another point Q on the curve. We compute R = P + Q. It is a graphical operation consisting of tracing a line through P and Q. This line defines a unique intersection with the EC: the point R. R is found by taking the symmetric point with respect to the x axis (see figure 2). Figure 2 Example of addition Formally: P = (x1,y1) Q = (x2,y2) R = P + Q = (x3,y3) Where, x3 = ө 2 x1 x2 y3 = ө (x1 + x3) y1 with ө = (y2 y1)/(x2 x1). If P = Q, R = P + Q is equivalent to adding a point to itself: doubling point P. Doubling The operation needs a single point and consists of finding a point 2P. We draw a tangent line to the EC at point P. This line intersects the curve in a point R. Reflecting this point across the x axis gives R: R = 2P. See figure 3. Formally: the only difference with an addition is the definition of ө. ө = (3x1 + a)/2y1 Figure 3 Example of doubling a point P Calculations over the real numbers are slow and inaccurate due to round off error. The movie was met with moderate financial and critical success making $75.4 million dollars off a budget of $35 million and receiving a 73% on rotten tomatoes. But statistics aside how historically accurate and relevant is The Count of Monte Cristo? Doing a little research on the fashion of the 1800s, specifically 1815 1844 when the story takes place, I found that the style of clothes that the characters wear would be nearly half a century old, the clothes worn in the film being more reminiscent to late 1700s fashion. Not to mention the total negation of hats in the film which were a staple of men s fashion throughout the 1800s. But the most glaring inaccuracy, concerning fashion of the time, are the clothes that are worn by the Count of Monte Cristo himself, Edmond Dantès. In what I assume to be an artistic design choice to make the count seem more regal or foreign, as he tries to appear as if he s not from France, only comes off as odd and off putting for the time period. Unfortunately since the story of The Count of Monte Cristo is a fictional story there isn t a lot more that I can compare to real world events that took place during the time period, however I can go over some events that the film ... • 13. Saint Ignatius Of Loyola Personal Writings The book, Saint Ignatius of Loyola Personal Writings, was translated by Joseph A. Munitiz and Philip Endean and first published in 1996. This book contains many aspects of St. Ignatius life, from his reminiscences to his spiritual exercises. Inigo Lopez de Loyola was born in 1491 in Spain, the youngest of 13 children. Inigo became a soldier at the age of 18 and began to refer to himself at Ignatius. Ignatius becomes a man obsessed with his image and a life of luxury until his conversion into a devout catholic. Saint Ignatius of Loyola Personal Writings tells the story of St. Ignatius early life obsessed with his image, and his transformation into his ultimate obsession with living a life dedicated to Christ, that I believe may have interfered with his growing relationship with God. St. Ignatius lived his life in vain. He was too concerned with his outward appearance, and his reputation among others. In battle, his legs were badly injured. Even through the excruciating pain, he made an effort to show no outer sign of discomfort. When his legs had healed, one leg was left with an unsightly misconfiguration from the healing of the bones. He underwent another, even more, painful surgery to fix his outer appearance. During his long recovery, St. Ignatius read about the life of Christ and the saints. As he learned more about the holy lives of the saints, St. Ignatius was converted and was determined to live a life the way Christ and the saints did. After St. Ignatius was ... The hormone is released into the hypophyseal portal system, and stimulates the pituitary follicles, which encourages hormone secretion. This in turn encourages the secretion of estradiol and progesterone by the ovaries. This meant that they had to complete the mission, and their superiors did not necessarily care if the natives were pleased or harmed with the outcomes. As far as they were concerned, there was land that had not been claimed legally and they wanted it. This was a huge change for the natives from when they had met Lewis and Clark on their journey exploring the Louisiana Territory decades earlier because both parties involved were amicable and cooperative. Even later when more white settlers came west and moved into lands the Indians once occupied, they voluntarily moved onto reservations without major issues. This was accomplished fluidly because the natives, unlike the white settlers, did not consider land to be owned by any person or group; land was theirs to do with what they would, which was to survive and live rivers for water, animals for food, and other natural resources to create their homes, clothes, and instruments. The Battle of Big Hole was a demonstration of violence of action, and how rules of engagement have come to be created; the natives would have easily sat down and discussed the matters encircling the massive amounts of land available to them, but the settlers were misinformed and the government had a defense complex of doing what needed to be done for their side, and not necessarily thinking about alternative options to going in to battle ... • 17. Mosaic CovenantAnd The Noahic Covenant, And The New... God created the universe with absolute perfection. However, with the downfall of humanity stemming from Original Sin, the Fallen spiraled its effects on mankind that carries forth today. As a result, many catastrophic events have been recorded in the Bible, which are known as historical facts to Christians. Because God is a loving and merciful God, He established the Noahic Covenant, Abrahamic Covenant, Mosaic Covenant, Davidic Covenant, and the New Covenant that all relate and expand with each other and provides hope for Jews and Christians in the past, today, and future. After God washed the earth of evil by flood (Genesis 5:32 10:1), He created the Noahic Covenant between Noah and his descendants. With accurate clarification to the Noahic Covenant, God makes an unconditional promise to Noah and all descendants that He will never flood the earth again and seals His vow with a rainbow across the clouds. Based on the unconditional promise made, God had no expectations of Noah and his descendants (Genesis 9). Why did God feel the need to generate a bond with Noah and his descendants? His compassion and mercy glorifies through His works and vows. Busenitz highlights God s forgiveness stating, In the Noahic Covenant, God showed His gracious mercy toward all mankind, both redeemed and unredeemed, causing it to rain on the just and the unjust and assuring the ongoing, uninterrupted cycle of seasons (Busenitz, page 10, 1999). • 34. Transformation In A Christmas Carol Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol was first published in London on the 19th of December 1843, the novella was instantly popular and still is to this day. Dickens inspiration for the short story seems to come from his childhood experiences and his sympathy for the poor. In the story a miserable old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, is shown the error of his ways and what will come of it if he doesn t make drastic changes. Various ghosts and spirits slowly transform him into a kinder more pleasant man. A Christmas Carol is a powerful novella that uses symbolism like the children Ignorance and Want, Scrooge s transformation, and Scrooges nephew Fred, to reinforce significant themes like social isolation, rebirth, and family. Dickens wanted to show the theme of rebirth through Scrooges transformation. Scrooge is changed from a humpy old man to a kinder nicer man, each stave represents a step in the transformation process. In stave one, two men come into Scrooge s shop and ask for a donation to help poor people in need, Scrooge gives them no money and asks why these people are not in prisons or Union workhouses (Dickens 7). He feels by paying his taxes he has done enough to help the poor. Scrooge goes on to say If they rather die...they had better do it and decrease the surplus population (Dickens 7). But in stave 3, Scrooge sees that Tiny Tim, a young innocent boy, will pass away in the future. Scrooge begs the second of the three spirits to spare his life, but the spirit says If ... • 35. Sitis Inversus Essay First seen and recognized in 1643 by Marco Severino, dextrocardia with situs inversus is a rare condition that affects 1 in 10,000 people, or 0.1% of the population. The word, sitis inversus is a shortened latin version of sitis inversus viscerum, which means inverted position of the internal organs. The heart and organs are completely flipped (or mirrored ) opposite of what they normally should be. Even though it s a rare condition, those who do have it can have some health issues that can be serious, and others may not have issues at all. It is a congenital condition and believed to be transmitted by autosomal recessive genes from the parents, meaning each parent has to have this trait in order to pass it off to the offspring. If the embryo receives only one gene, then that person will be a carrier of the condition but not physically have the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To start at the top with this condition, the apex of the heart in a normal patient points towards the left (levocardia) but with this condition, the apex of the heart actually points to the right (dextrocardia) side. The right atrium is on the left and the left atrium is on the right with about 80% of these patients having a right sided aortic arch. In addition to the heart being backwards, the organs of digestion are also backwards too. The liver is on the left, along with the gallbladder, and the spleen and stomach are on the right. Sometimes these patients are born without a spleen. Another issue to watch out for are abdominal obstructions. Due to the organs being backwards, some patients born with this condition may not have properly formed digestive organs, called malrotation. An abdominal obstruction prevents waste from moving through the intestines as it normally should and leave the body. With an abdominal obstruction, it can be life threatening and require surgery to correct the obstruction before any further damage is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. No Laws In Lord Of The Flies Imagine if someone you loved was shot. You call the cops, but they say that there is nothing that can be done because there are no laws saying they have to punish the criminal. If there were no laws, criminal could get away with crimes like that repeatedly without any punishment. This is a prime example of why laws are needed to keep society in order. The idea of rules in society has been around since King Hammurabi created the first set of laws in 1760 B.C. Egyptian civilizations created laws so that their society would last longer than other civilizations because people would respect their morals. William Golding, the author of Lord of the Flies, made a statement about human nature, saying that, Man produces evil as a bee produces honey. He had a theory that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without laws, people will act out and society will turn into chaos just like it did towards the end of Lord of the Flies. As people grow older in society, they get separated into groups based on age (baby, child, teenager, adult, senior). This helps the society be more controlled and organized. In the beginning of Lord of the Flies, the author named the children littluns , which was a sign that civilization was not lost and the children had not been on the island for too long. As the author nears the end of the book, he begins to call them all savages. On page 192, as things were getting crazy and the fire begins to start, the narrator says, The savage, whoever he was, ululated twice; and the cry was repeated in both directions, then died away (192). At the beginning of the book, all the children had names; but now, they are all called savages because you cannot tell them apart. • 37. milgrams study into obedience Describe and discuss two factors that Milgram found effect obedience? Refer to empirical evidence in your answer Milgram s original study into obedience came under to a lot of scrutiny because of both mythological and ethical problems. This meant that the validity of Milgram s study was put into question. Following the study were further investigations to see what might change and explain the results that Milgram found, both by Milgram himself and other psychologists. Variations to his study throw up interesting theories to the situational and dispositional factors that might affect levels of obedience. One variation of Milgram s study investigated the role that buffers may have on the level of obedience of a individual. Two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ecological validity in this experiment is greater than that in Milgram s variation; this means that it can be generalised to everyday situations and can explain why people s obedience may increase if the level if perceived authority and status increases and when the opposite effect occurs. To conclude, situational factors as seen above have been found to affect the level of obedience that somebody shows. However, there are important dispositional factors that need to be taken into consideration. People with a authoritarian personality may have a disposition to have a higher level of obedience. Milgram found that the among the people who gave the highest shocks did indeed have a authoritarian personality and blamed the leaner for the obedience. Crutchfield lead findings into conformity (1955); he found that conformers tend to have a high authoritarian views and were generally submissive. Obedience involves complex social roles this explains the link between personality, conformity and obedience. Mrsa Research Paper Candace Byler 9/14/2014 Article Summary #1 Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, is a bacterium that is resistant to many available high level beta lactam antibiotics, which include penicillins, antistaphylococcal penicillins and cephalosporins. Staphyloccoci are the most important bacteria that cause disease in humans. MRSA is sometimes branded as a nosocomial infection as it usually plagues patients that are receiving treatment in a hospital. The skin is the most common site of infection, where MRSA can cause cellulitis, folliculitis, or boils in the skin, but can also commonly be found in the nose, underarm, groin, upper respiratory tract, intestine, vagina and rectal areas of the body. Surgery may be required to debride and drain the pus filled skin from the infected area, while antibiotics, such as vancomycin, linezolid, daptomycin, quinupristin/dalfopristin, clindomycin (as well as many other sulfa drugs and tetracyclines) could be prescribed to help eradicate the infection. Some antibiotics that are used to treat MRSA are only available intravenously. Unfortunately, some high powered antibiotics are developing resistance to MRSA infections. Because of this, Vancomycin is no longer a sure treatment for MRSA due to questions surrounding its effectiveness. Patients that are prescribed antibiotics should never stop taking their antibiotics, even if they are starting to feel better. • 41. Essay On Presidential Pardon Power The Presidential Pardon Power and its Limits The power to pardon is not the most discussed power of the President of the United States. However, there have been some controversial cases that sparked the debate about limiting this power. This paper deals with the origins of this constitutional clause, its limits and interpretations by the Supreme Court of the United States. I would like to mention some controversial cases and connected debate about limiting this power. Origins of the Presidential Pardon The roots of the pardon can be traced far back in the history. There are references to similar power in Mosaic Law, Greek Law and Roman Law. However, the U.S. constitutional clause originated in the English law. The law was applied in the colonies and the colonial governors held similarly broad pardon powers as the Kings. Except a simple pardon, they could also grant conditional pardon to any offender. The original plans for the Constitution did not contain a power of pardon. However, the main proponents of pardoning power Charles Pinckney, Alexander Hamilton, and John Rutledge managed to push through the inclusion of this clause. After a debate about this power during the Constitutional Convention, the presidential pardon clause was added into the Constitution as one of the enumerated powers of the President of the United States. It can be found in the Article II of the Constitution. It says: The President ... shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
