Effects Of American Identity
American Identity Since the time of the American Revolution, people always asking What is an
American? Today, Americans tend to believe the religion and the politics of government have had
the biggest impacted on American identity because it has introduced a new system structure
nations, cultures, and the Enlightenment s ideas to form the United States. Let s back to the early
1600s, after the Columbus s voyage came to the New World, most all the European nations began
to proceed colonized the Native American by force, invading their lands, inter married with the
native women, create the Empire on the American continent. But, the main point that European
came to the New World is spreading their religion, they tried to convert the native into Christianity.
This caused more tension between the native and the white people. According by William
Bradford described in his journey Of Plymouth Plantation , it said Men, Indians! Indians! And
withal, their arrows came flying amongst them...Thus it pleased God to vanquish their enemies
and give them deliverance; and by His special providence so to dispose that not any of them were
either hurt or hit, though their arrows came close by. He claimed God protected his people from the
enemy. In otherwise, the most reason that European come to North America is founding gold, a

Paperless Nursing Records
INTRODUCTION Paperless healthcare record is a longitudinal management system of keeping
patients health information electronically 24/7 and being able to share it (Greenhalgh and Keen
2013). Paperless healthcare records continue to grow in popularity as health care organizations are
implementing or soon will be implementing a system of electronic patient records on the promise
that paperless healthcare records provide faster and efficient access to healthcare (Kossman and
Scheidenhelm, 2008; Top et al. 2013, Boonstra et al. 2014). Electronic patient records have various
forms and the term used differs between healthcare organisations. Terms such as electronic health

user attitude towards the programme, impact on workflow, interoperability, technical support,
communication among users and users previous experience (Kossman, 2006; DeVliegher et al
2010; Balllie et al 2012). The NHS has been advised to design EHR that will work well for
healthcare staff in the NHS in order for it to be relevant (Sheikh et al. 2011, Edwards, 2013).
Authors like Holden (2010) and Wilkins (2013) have investigated attitudes of physicians towards
EHR while researchers like Alquraini et al. (2007) and Huryk (2010) have investigated nurses

Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) or the Nurses Attitudes towards Computerization (NATC)

Descriptive Essay On My Room
My bedroom is not a place for the entire community. However, it is just as comfortable to me as
someone else s room is just as comfortable to them. My room is comparably different though. It s
not just a place where I keep all my stuff and sleep all day. There s more to my private abode than
what meets the eye.
Walking on the hardwood floor feels like a punch to the bottom of your foot. The flooring creaks
throughout the house as if it were haunted. However, it s my private space out of the rest of the
world, so overall, it would be worthwhile to cherish it. The blue walls do not take much interest, but
the Eiffel Towerdecal and the dark brown trimming brings a bold touch. The room shape is
nothing special, just a small and box like. Dressers and bookshelves are crammed together from
wall to wall. The bed ends up finishing off the room. Having a memory foam mattress isn t hard
on any body part, it cradles the body with every movement. Black and white bedding adds to the
decoration of the room, and all my extra pillows and blankets brings a rainbow to the neutral
bedding colors.
My room could be the just as comfortable for rest as the next, but there s more to it than just having
the blankets and pillows. It s not just the peaceful warmth that engulfs a cold night either. Seeing
the dark of the night makes surrounding areas invisible until light is shone. The sound of the fan is
like the quietest vacuum on Earth constantly going. The shine of bedroom lights through the

all falling snow and blizzards. She travels from place to place making it snow beautiful, very
different and dainty snowflakes. She creates blizzards in an attempt to be intimidating towards
the other, more powerful gods for she is very envious of their power. She doesn t enjoy the
company of others; she likes to be by herself where she isn t bothered so she can focus more on
working on her powers and snowflakes. She is first cousins with Poseidon and alliances with
Boreas, god of winter and wind. She also has a vicious pet Cerberus that is only obedient to her.

before she can say anything, Apollo goes straight to the point and tries to talk it out. He begins by
saying,
You cannot do this for your plan would throw everything off balance and cause so many issues for
anyone to handle! Chionothyella yells at him,
Leave before I use my powers against you! He doesn t want to yell at her or become violent since
she is so young and not as powerful, but he has no other choice but to do something about it and
make her stop. He thinks fast and declares war against the two that begins tonight. Chionothyella

What Is The Most Beautiful Beach Essay
To say that I like beaches, would be a lie. Nothing in the world can aptly describe my love for
rolling waves, that wash up onto the beautiful beach sand and then recedes back like a graceful
ballerina. Maybe it s the surreal beauty or maybe it is the rhythmic flow of seawater that is so
calming and upsetting at the same time, that it attracts me like a moth to a night lamp. They are
indeed beautiful. One can not disagree with this at all! Here s the list of one of the most beautiful
beaches of the world. In truth, there are hundreds of them, and to name just a few is an
abomination, but nevertheless, let s dive in!

Cannabinoid Therapeutic Analysis
CBD has positive effects on reducing and managing psychotic, anxiety, and depressive like
behaviors. The mechanisms appear to be related to the CBD s benefit to provide enhanced
neuroprotection and inhibition of excessive neuroinflammatory responses in neurodegenerative
diseases and conditions. Common features involving neuroprotective mechanisms influenced by
CBD oxidative stress, immune mediators, and neurotrophic factors are also important in conditions
such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), postconcussion syndrome, depression, and anxiety.
Many studies confirm that the function of the ECS is markedly increased in response to pathogenic

Patients with alcoholism often go through cycles of binging on alcohol, stopping for short periods
of time due to experiencing feelings of remorse for behavior done under the influence and
inevitably returning to drinking in excess. (Mikuriya, 2004). Additionally, long term use of
excessive amounts of alcohol can lead to debilitating diseases and eventually death. Cannabis
though, has been shown in some cases to be an effective substitute for alcohol aiding patients in
their struggle to reduce or stop alcohol use. (Mikuriya, 2004) With its relatively benign side effects,
this makes cannabis a more favorable alternative. In Mikuriya s (2004) study, 92 patients who had
alcohol addictions used cannabis primarily to treat alcoholism, with patients listing depression,
pain, and insomnia among secondary reasons for use. Patients were interviewed, and medical
records reviewed for information regarding the extent of alcoholism and any current or former
treatments (Mikuriya, 2004). During follow up visits, typically every 12 months, patients reported
what conditions they were using cannabis to treat, as well as how effective they found the
treatment to be (Mikuriya, 2004). Of the patients that reported back, 45 ranked using cannabis as a
very effective treatment, and 38 ranked it an effective treatment option. (Mikuriya, 2004). While

world was still trading crops, livestock, and objects to each other. The different countries trusted
each other more than what was needed to be trusted of each other. Fighting for independence along
with fighting for their lives may be two different things, but for the Irish it was something horrible
that happened to them during this time. The Irish Potato Faminewas an act of genocide that was

Teenage Drinking And Driving
Drinking and driving is a big problem that affects teenagers all over the world. People would
think that with all the laws cracking down on the sale of alcohol to minors, and education about
the consequences of drinking and driving would make a difference. Everyone knows that
drinking and driving is dangerous, but don t realize it affects the driver, passengers, and people
on the streets. The laws should be stricter about underage drinking, there should be more
education about the consequences of drinking and driving, and the drinking age should not be
lowered. Even though under age drinking is illegal, teenagers are starting to drink at younger
ages, which is leading to risky behaviors (Dedel). Some common behaviors known to happen
while under the influence include, driving, property damage, rape, and other violent crimes. The
major problem for teenagers is driving while they are under the influence. The laws need to be
stricter when it comes to under age drinking. Most teenagers do not have the mindset to drink
responsibly and can lead to negative effects, that could not only harm them but harm other people
too. Police need to crack down on all underage drinkers so that nobody does anything that could
harm them, like getting into a car and driving or riding in a car with someone who is drunk.. Most
teenagers don t think that drinking while they are under the influence is a big problem. Kelly
Dedel stated, Underage college students who drink heavily are more likely to

Why We Should Care About Iran
WHY WE SHOULD CARE ABOUT IRAN
Can one country change the landscape of the entire world? Americans must be able to understand
importance of one country in the Diplomacy, Information, Military, and Economy (DIME)
methodology. This paper will go over the background of Iran, what type of government it is, the
strategic importance to the United States and the possible future for Iran and relations with the
United States.
Background
The country of Iran, previously known as Persia until 1935, began diplomatic relations with the
United States in 1883. Iran is the 18th largest country occupying 1,648,195 sq. km, almost 2.5 times
the size of the state of Texas (Central Intelligence Agency, 2013). The country has a population of
approximately 81.8 million residents with Persian the official language and the official religion
being Muslim. Throughout the twentieth century, the country witnessed the establishment of a
limited constitutional monarchy in 1906. In 1953, a coup supported by the United States and the
United Kingdom occurred against the democratically elected prime minister. The most recent
change to the country occurred in 1979, when clerical forces led by the Ayatollah Khomeini
overthrew the Shah, making the country an Islamic Republic forcing the Shah into exile. On
November 4, 1979, a group of revolutionary Iranian students angered that the deposed Shah had
entered the United States, seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, and took 52 Americans hostage. As

Comparing The Signalman by Dickens and The Withered Arm by...
Comparing The Signalman by Dickens and The Withered Arm by Hardy The Signalman and The
Withered Arm , are two short stories showing supernatural events. Authors, Dickens, and Hardy
intrigue readers by using certain techniques. These techniques add suspense and mystery to the
story, which makes the reader, want to read further on. The openings in both narratives begin with a
short dialogue. The dialogue in The Signalman begins with the narrator talking to the Signalman:
Halloa! Below there! This throws the readers into action and engages them into the story. It
introduces them to the characters. The setting of the place is one of an eerie atmosphere. It hints
that something unnatural and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the introduction to the story, there is also a brief description of the setting. This creates
a sense of direction, as we know the atmosphere of the narrative. Hardy creates ambiguity by
leaving unresolved questions in chapter one. Some of these questions are, who is farmer Lodge
s wife, and why Rhoda Brooks is thin and fading when she is not very old. We as readers, want to
find out the situation to why she is isolated from other employees and why there is no contact
between Farmer Lodge and Rhoda and her son. The author of The Withered Arm creates
unresolved questions at the beginning of the plot because he wants to leave readers guessing future
plots. Unresolved questions in the story make the reader more involved as they too can speculate
what events will occur. The author uses this technique effectively as suspense is added to the story.
We are shown dramatic and unpredictable events. This causes tension and adds to the excitement
that occurs when it is read. The openings of the two short stories are very similar to each other.
Both authors write the introductions expressively to catch the reader s eye. The techniques used
make it more intriguing for us to read. The similar techniques applied to the beginning of the story
are adding dialogue, introduction to the main characters and a short but concise description of the

Attenuation effect of caffein and/or nifedipine against selenite induced cataractogenesis
Abstract
Objectives: The current study was performed to investigate the anti cataractogenic effect of single
and combined treatment with caffeine and nifedipine in sodium selenite induced cataract.
Methods: Seventy five healthy albino Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups; the first group
received intraperitoneal injection of saline and served as control, 2nd group received a single
subcutaneous injection of 30 nmol/g body weights of sodium selenite to induce cataract. 3rd and
4th groups received 0.1 mg/kg of nifedipine and 5.15 Вµmoles of caffeine respectively, starting two
days prior to the administration of selenite and continuing such treatment till the end of experiment.
Last group got the combined treatments of nifedipine and caffeine in the same regimen. Animals
were decapitated after 5, 15 and 25 days of the experiment.
Results: The results indicated a very highly significant decrease (PЛ‚0.001) in total soluble lens
protein and Na+ K+ATPase activity, a very highly significant increase (PЛ‚0.001) in calcium lens
content in selenite cataract group. Also significant changes in the molecular weight and area under
peaks estimated in profile of electrophoretic mobility of lens proteins were found in selenite group.
All these changes reduced markedly in caffeine and nifedipine group.
Conclusions: nutrients with antioxidant capabilities can potentially delay against these changes such

The process of consent should apply not only to surgical procedures but all clinical procedures

indicated otherwise, patients should be given sufficient information about what is to take place,
the risks, uncertainties, and possible negative consequences of the proposed treatment, about any

Important Place In My Life
One of the most important places in my life is a quiet place in Cook County, Illinois.
That place would be a cemetery called St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. To many, this may be a
weird place to choose, but to me it is a safe place to vent and think. You see, St. Mary is the
resting place of my mother, Kimberly Bitsie. Those reasons, are why it is the most important place
in my world.
Cook County is not a place I have ever lived, but my family and I try to visit as often as we can.
My Dad, little brother and I usually try visit once every two to three years, because we visit our
grandparents while in Illinois. When we visit though, we always try to make time to visit the
cemetery because we don t know the next we will be able to see her. It s about a thirty five
minute drive from my grandparent s house, but it s worth the drive. We spend on average thirty
to forty minutes at the cemetery. Before we go into the cemetery, we always stop by this one
store near the cemetery, that sells flower and decorations, to buy a spinner to put on mom s
grave. I was only four when my mom died of cancer, and I only have a few memories of her. So,
being able to visit and try to connect is what makes it special to me. When we go to visit the
cemetery, it is usually around midday. Unlike other cemeteries I have seen or visited, this cemetery
I would put on the better side of the list, with upkeep and location. When you first drive into the
cemetery, you see a big gate and a beautiful stone white

Bill C 51 And The Canadian Security Intelligence Services...
As a consultant for Ontario works, the following is an overview of Bill C 51 and includes issues
and recommendations for improvement. Bill C 51 the so called terror bill, is a controversial
political Act that is being proposed under Harper s Conservative government. This is an Anti
terrorism Act that is causing much argument among Canadians and is promoted as intending to
increase security on terrorists who plan to attack Canadians on soil. According to Bill C 51 (2015),
The purpose of this Act is to encourage and facilitate the sharing of information among Government
of Canadainstitutions in order to protect Canada against activities that undermine the security of
Canada (p. 4). However, there are many implications for all Canadian citizens that need to be taken
seriously into consideration. Bill C 51 is promoting a broader and stronger power to the police, the
Canadian Security Intelligence Services (CSIS), and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
without protection of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedomsand without and/or limited
monitoring and oversight of activity (Bill C 51, 2015).
For example, according to Bill C 51, a lot more discretion has been promoted to police to carry
out something called preventive detention. Ordinarily, for so called normal offences (e.g., drunk
driving, assault, etc.) arrest can only take place where an officer believes there are reasonable
grounds to believe an offence has been or will be carried out. Now, under

Sirolimus Research Paper
Siroimus is a potent immunosuppressive drug widely used in organ transplantation. It is a
macrocyclic triene antibiotic produced by Streptomyces hygroscopicus. Siroimus was first isolated
as antifungal drug. However, further studies showed its remarkable antitumor and
immunosuppressive activities. Sirolimus has a potent inhibitory effect on antigen induced
proliferation of T and B lymphocytes, and inhibits antibody production. Sirolimus binds to the
intracellular protein, FKBP12. The sirolimus:FKPB12 complex interacts with and blocks the
activation of an essential cell cycle kinase named mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin). By
interfering with the mTOR function, sirolimus prevents the mTOR mediated signal transduction
pathways and consequently, this results in the blockage of cell cycle progression in G1... Show

Siroimus induced pneumonitis has also been reported. In contrast to CNIs, sirolimus is not
associated with nephrotoxicity. Therefore, it can be used as an alternative immunosuppressive
agent for transplant recipients who develop renal impairment with ciclosporin or tacrolimus
therapy (Knechtle, 2014). Sirolimus is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract following
oral administration and reaches its peak concentration in 1 2 hours. After absorption, sirolimus is
extensively bound to red blood cells and less than 5% of the drug remains free in the plasma.
Sirolimus has a relatively low bioavailability (around 25%). It is metabolized in the liver and the
intestinal wall by the CYP3A enzyme subfamily (CYP3A4 and CYP3A5) and to a minor extent by
CYP2C8. Sirolimus has a long elimination half life about 60 hours in renal transplant recipients. It
has a narrow therapeutic index and theraputic drug monitoring of blood levels is essential to ensure
safe and effective treatment (Knechtle,

The Benefits Of Drunk Driving
Today people all over the world drink alcohol, but is it really worth it? Alcohol is a drug that can
be used for medical reasons, but mostly used for recreational purposes. Alcohol also (when
drinking lots of) can cloud your thinking making you do stupid things you would mostly never do
if you weren t drunk. If alcoholwas banned it would solve many problems such as drunk drivingand
much more. Alcohol should be banned across the country. To start if alcohol was banned drunk
driving would be eliminated. According to the CDC In 2014, 9,967 people were killed in
alcohol impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one third (31%) of all traffic related
deaths in the United States . Drunk driving is caused by alcohol, and without the drug people on

A Viable Fetus
Miriam Webster Medical Dictionary defines a viable fetus is capable of living outside the human
uterus, weighing 500 grams or more, and the pregnancy is of 20 weeks in gestation. Not all
pregnancies go as planned as more infants are born before full term, and sometimes between 22 24
weeks of gestation. These infants are at the verge of viability and sometimes resuscitation can lead
to morbidity or mortality.
Whether health care providers resuscitate or not is an ethical dilemma which all health care
providers and family members have to struggle with when it comes to the premature baby as small
as the viable fetus. Although recommendations have been made by organizations including the
American Academy of Pediatrics and the Nuffield Council on Bioethics, the decision to resuscitate
is complex, requiring careful consideration of multiple factors related to each individual case
(Powell, et al., 2012) If the infant survives after being resuscitated it may have long term heath
issues which can be costly for the family, but some viable fetuses can survive without any negative
consequences and live a healthy life. The question asked is Should an extremely premature baby be
saved?
Historical Perspective
Today nurses receive more and better training than nurses several decades ago on what to expect
and do in treating and taking care of the extremely premature babies. Oxygen was introduced in the
1930s and this was help with the breathing of the

Most hematologic diseases and surgery complications related to blood can be detected through the
complete blood count (CBC). WBC with or without differentials, RBC, Hct, Hgb, and platelet

Statue Of Liberty Research Paper
History of the Monument The Statue of Liberty has had many symbolic representations from its
creation. The Statue of Liberty was built by the French and given to United States in 1886. The
French valued the democratic meaning and leaders that had prospered in America such as Abraham
Lincoln. This view can also be transferred to the American point of view. When an American sees
the Statue of Liberty and the Ellis island monumentthey should remember the history and process
that America went through to achieve a fully democratic and equal society. This monument should
commemorate what the American dream means such as Liberty and equality for all. Since this
representation is what many citizens or immigrants thought of when they crossed through... Show

The idea behind it representing a new life for immigrants is the most commonly known yet there
has been pivotal moments in history in which it s representation is taken into different ways to fit
ones argument. At first the French gave the Statue to the US a symbol of a strong relationship
between two democratic nations. Then when slaves were free the Statue of Liberty s broken
shackles at the bottom represented their new opportunities when it actually was supposed to be
freedom from monarchical governments. When immigrants began arriving through Ellis island it
soon became a symbol of new beginnings and Liberty. When immigrants hit a new nerve with
Americans, anti immigration believers began using the Statue of Liberty as a way to restrict more
migrants as they thought that these new immigrants would tear down the Statue of Liberty. The
statues reception adjusted throughout the United States with factors such as geography and political
parties. As the Statue was put together during the reconstruction phase after the Civil war, many
southerners thought it was to show the that the union had won and prospered. Also it represented
how there was no longer slaves in the United States. This all contributed to a mostly negative point
of view from the South. In the North, the Statue was widely received as a symbol of a new
America. Many parades were held on the unveiling of the Statue and its popularity quickly

The Sustainability Website, And There Are Some Positive...
I have recently reviewed the UMass sustainability website, and there is some positive things that I
have seen. There are also some things that could be improved upon. I will be discussing a number
of different issues regarding communication of sustainability, and how UMass appears to be
approaching those issues, as well as ways to improve our initiative.
To begin with I would like to state that there is a difference between the dominant and ecological
paradigm in the context of the sustainability initiative. The dominate paradigm is what values in a
society that are most standard and widely held. Dominant paradigms are shaped both by the
community s cultural background. The ecological paradigm sees the current dominant paradigm as

If what they say in their first statement is true, this is a good step. Exploring and communicating
ways to improve upon our communities practices, ideas, and technologies would fall into the new
ecological paradigm. It would be an attempted to shift away from the dominant unsustainable
paradigm. The next point mentioned in the mission statement is We educate the campus community
to create a healthier and more responsible environment . Education of a community is how a
paradigm shift will happen. Education about what is unsustainable, why being unsustainable is
harmful, and how to become more sustainable is absolutely vital in order to shift a community s
thoughts, ideas, and behaviors. Next the mission statement says that We develop progressive
solutions to reduce negative environmental impacts in ways that are economically beneficial .
Solutions to reduce negative environmental impacts are what is needed in order to change from
unsustainable to sustainable. Understanding problems won t help unless solutions to those
problems are known. Lastly, the mission statement says that We create and consistently advocate
for a diverse inclusive culture of sustainability throughout the campus community and beyond . By
trying to create and advocate a culture of sustainability, they are also trying to shift the paradigms
from the dominate to ecological. Based on the information provided by the mission statements, I

Most of them are found in mixtures and in order to achieve a pure form they need to be

make it impossible to have a pre designed procedure for every mixture. So chemists often have to

The Causes Of Organized Crime In The United States
Organized crime, which gained infamous attention in America back in the 1920s during the
prohibition era, can be defined as systematical criminal activities that are controlled by a powerful
group for profit on a city wide, interstate, and sometimes international scale. These types of
organizations engage in illegal activities as a way of generating income, or black money. They
structure like a business, freely taking on violence and bribery to preserve their operations and
maintain internal and external control. Internal controls provide assurance regarding the
achievement of operational objectives (making sure they are effective, efficient, and accurate),
while external controls include different resources and contacts (suppliers). Everything they do,
from gambling to prostitution to dealing with drugs, goes against all government regulations. But
what forces them to commit crimes that are against government regulations and what do they gain
personally? How can we stop, or at least lessen the activities of these crimes?
Organized Crime is considered a major threat to the development and security of their country. They
gain profit through the evaluation of countries risks, benefits, and markets, and have taken to
multiple forms of corruption to invade political, economic, and social levels not only in their own
country, but in the world. Today, organized crime still poses as a major threat in American society
with their illegal operations, especially with the growth of

The Future Of Terrorism In The United States
Over the past Century, terrorism has advanced from random killings to enormous plans for
terrorist groups. To understand terrorism you must first define it. Terrorism as we all know it is
hard to define and understand, and has many different definitions as it is used widely. The word
terrorism stems from the word terror , which means to instill fear in. People become terrorists
when they take the actions towards instilling fear and terror upon people to prove a certain point
or agenda. Some terrorists may have the motivation of proving something political, while some
may just inflict terror to keep control over a group, people or country. Then there are terrorists who
act under the notion that they are showing support for something, as in religious regions, while
others do so to show disdain for something they don t agree with. Government, individual agencies,
private agencies, and academic experts have all developed, proposed, designed, and analyzed what
constitutes acts of terrorism. The meaning of terrorism has definitely changed and acquired new
definitions over the years. The million dollar question is how will the future of America be affected
by this act of terrorism?
Terrorism represents a continuing threat to the United States. It is the most significant threat to our
national security. Terrorist attacks have definitely left many concerns about the possibilities of
future incidents of terrorism in the United States. Since the events of September 11, 2011,

In the country of men
In the Country of Men as a National Allegory
Hisham Matar presents In the Country of Men as a national allegory. This is done through
metaphors, personification, and characters relationships. His purposes for writing this novel were
political. A national allegory is any attribution of human characteristics to other animals, non living
things, material states, objects or abstract concepts, such as organizations or governments1 of a
nation or its people.2
Fredric Jameson, with ideas more suitable for the novel than Aijaz Ahmad, was first to think of

When Ustath Rashid was hung the crowd responded; Like a wave rising, cheering became
louder .8 The crowd flowed together in a solid movement, influenced by the revolutionary
committee s actions. Those who associated with writers against the revolution were suspected of
treason. If the crowd of the hanging did not cheer, they may be hung next. Suleiman and Mama
were not allowed to talk to Kareem s family when his father was accused. The revolution moved
as one and like a wave, gathering others as it moved forward. Suleiman finds a calming peace
with the soft waves of the sea. It was the only hope he could find in the revolution. I held the sea

Differences In Citizen Kane And Pulp Fiction
Throughout the years the film industry has gone through a variety of changes. Films have been
modified to have color, a better picture quality and a greater sound quality. Another thing that has
changed is the differences in the openness and use of graphic scenes in films. Some of these
examples can be seen in films like the (1941) Citizen Kaneas well as in the (1994) Pulp Fiction.
One of the differences in Citizen Kane And Pulp Fiction are the differentiating themes and how
liberalism and straightforwardness has changed over time. Citizen Kane, directed by Orson Welles

Civilization Vs Civilization
Civilization is one of the greatest human inventions. From civilization we gain basic justice,
morality and security. Although civilization is a powerful force, it is fragile. The book The Lord
of The Flies by William Golding, strands a group of schoolboys on an uninhabited island and
follows them as their tropical paradise becomes a hell on earth. As the boys situation becomes
more dire and fear takes hold their makeshift society crumbles around them. The boys let
civilization crumble as they turn towards savagery. When the group first lands on the island, their
civilization is at its strongest because they respect and listen to Ralph. When the boys hold their
first meeting they decide they need a leader. Ralph says ВЁWho wants me?Вґ Every hand outside
the choir except Piggy s was raised immediatelyВЁ (Golding, 23). This act of voting shows that
civilization is strong. This is because, to hold an election each individual has to value the groupВґs
choice above his own. Even Jack accepts that Ralph is in charge even though he thinks he would
be a better leader. Ralph also says IВґll give the conch to the next person to speak. He can hold it
when he is speaking . . . And he won t be interrupted.ВЁ (33). This shows the boys creating rules.
Rules are another product of a strong civilization; they keep everyone safe and secures their
rights. This rule secures the right of speech for all of the boys. Even though it may be better for
one boy to speak without concern for others; it

Latin Americ The Era Of Colonization
Latin America as continent is a very diverse, culturally, geographically and in the people who
inhabit the land. Some are ancestors of the indigenous people to the land, some are African
Americans whose ancestors were brought over during the slave trade, others are of European
descent, specifically Spanish and Portuguese who s ancestors came to Latin Americaduring the late
1400 s to either acquire land through the encomienda, capitancy or intendancy system; or to follow
the Spanish Dream of coming to the New World and creating a life with prestige and wealth. Latin
America was developed through imperialism, the idea that one country could control another
country and that country s economy, and political system from outside its borders. Through this
idea of imperialism came the era of colonization. Latin America was colonized by Spainand
Portugal, but mostly Spain, Portugal colonized Brazil. The failure of Latin America as a state can
be attributed to the act of colonization by the Spanish and Portuguese. When Christopher Columbus
sailed to the New World for the Spanish in 1492 under the rule of King Ferdinand and Queen

Different Types of Competition
Pure Competition: Pure competition involves number of companies or firms manufacturing
similar or identical goods. In such pure competition the firms have no control over the prices.
These companies are often termed as Price Takers . The pricing strategy is no in hands of the
company it is determined by market forces. The firms operating in a pure competition
manufacture standardized products which do not offer them a chance to differentiate their
products on the basis of some unique feature of the product. The firms also do not spend on
advertising their products because of the standardized nature of the products the firms
manufacture. The demand of the products in pure competition is perfectly elastic. This principle
maximizes the productivity by efficiently allocating the resources in the right areas. The firms do
not have any market power as they have no or very little impact on the overall market structure.
In order for a firm to maximize the profits the pricing strategy that is used is cost plus pricing
where the firm charges the consumer for the cost and the per unit profit that they like to charge on
the basis on the basis of market analysis. (Akerlof, 1970) The pricing strategy does not play an
integral role in the development of the business in pure competition therefore other strategies
contribute more to the success of a company. The firm has to spend heavily on research and
technology in order to lower their costs than their competitors. In this way the

Total Domination Hannah Arendt Summary
Hannah Arendt, the author of The Origins of Totalitarianism, talks about totalitarianism and what it
looked like. She describes how the Nazi s ran their government by dehumanizing an individual,
group and how they took control over the masses in Germany. In this piece of work, the final
chapter Total Domination , also contributes to what it means to be under the rule of a totalitarian
government. She goes on about how total domination can be achieved if every person can be
reduced to a never changing identity of reactions (Hannah Arendt s Total Domination ). Recently,
eastern countries have had revolutions because of totalitarian style governments doing whatever
they please. Two recent revolutions from Syria and Libyahave shown that these types of
governments will not be tolerated. Even Egypthas had its fair share of trouble as well. Hannah
Arendt would have applauded the recent revolutions in Syria and Libya because in Libya it
began when a human rights lawyer was arrested, both were done to fight for political change, and
in Syria it was also done for a better economy. Arendt s idea of total domination cannot be seen in
Hosni Mubarak s rule over Egypt.
The human rights lawyer Fethi Tarbel, was arrested and sparked the uproar that caused the call
of removal for Muammar Gaddafi. In Libya, the government had taken political prisoners and
people were especially unhappy about this one. Fethi Tarbel was the coordinator of one of the
few independent organizations in Libya a group of families of victims of the Abu Salim prison
massacre, where more than 1,200 political prisoners were killed by security forces in 1996
(thenational.ae). This set people off because Mr. Senussi tried to persuade Mr. Tarbel to give up the
cause of the Abu Salim victim s families (thenational.ae). People were not happy because they had
suffered a tragedy like that and were receiving help, but then the government comes and wanted to
shut it down. The families then gathered outside to protest the injustice that happened to Mr.
Tarbel. The actions the people took would have made Arendt proud because they were justified and
meant to make change happen. With this, people saw this as an opportunity and said, Benghazi

The Theory Of Light And Its Effects On The Human Eyes
Light, a concept that has been worked with for many years dating back to 500 B.C. Pythagoras
hypothesized that humans perceive light due to the human eyes ability to emit rays upon the
environment and the emittance gives a human his or her sight (Sekuler). Afterward, human
intellectuals started making it more concise to present day knowledge of light. This development of
light came from two intellectuals named Christian Huygens and Isaac Newton. Newton exclaimed
during the 1700s that light was a stream of particles carrying energy but Huygens, Newton s
contemporary, thought that light needed this invisible ether in order for these streams to make light
travel. Then, a couple hundred years later, modern scientists such as Albert Einstein, Thomas
Young, and Augustin Fresnel proved Isaac s and Huygens hypotheses of light (Rossing, 23 24).
This is how the basis of light was created.
With today s science, light becomes more specifically perceived as a spectrum. The specific name
for this spectrum is the electromagnetic spectrum, which contains many types of waves (NASA,
Electromagnetic Spectrum). In Figure 2, the spectrum shows a variety of wavelengths with specific
wavelengths classified by its length. The range of wavelengths humans can see wavelengths that
are around 400 700 nanometers (nm) as colors while all other electromagnetic waves are simply
blind to humans. The interesting classes for light that are used to measure are microwave and
infrared light. The laser is

1Introduction
Uranium should be produced in a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible way because this is
important for consumers, producers and society as a whole. The production of uranium through
hydrometallurgical processes such as leaching, ion exchange, solid liquid separation and solvent
extraction has not been without controversy, especially during the early stages of the industry.
Nowadays, the industry has changed drastically and a lot more can be done to ensure that safety is
a number one priority.
2Safety issues
The process of mining uranium releases radon into the atmosphere as well as other heavy metals if
not properly managed. Radon is a colourless, tasteless gas and exposure to high levels can increase
the chances of getting cancer. As a result, every country that has nuclear facilities, has regulations to
ensure public land, air and water (both surface and groundwater) are protected now and in the future

Effects Of Sweatshops
Terrible Sweatshops: The Examination of the Unethicalness
Figure 1 (Lewin)
FORCED TO WORK EXHAUSTING HOURS this is the label which a woman who bought a
summer dress at Primark found (See figure 1). The message was a cry for help from workers and
implies the harsh environment for the people in a sweatshop (Lewin). The word sweatshop was
made in the end of 1800s. The definition of the sweatshop is broad but it describes any
workplace where people are forced poor conditions and long hours of works with low wages
(Annabelle). The US Department of Labor defined a sweatshop as a factory which violates two
or more labor laws (DoSomething.org). People in developed countries tend to enjoy buying
cheaper products and do not care about the reality of the process they have made. In fact, many
women and children are forced to work in sweatshops in developing countries. Some corporations
such as NIKE, GAP and Wal Mart have already revealed those facts but the problem has not been
solved yet (Bakan). Actually, those are just few of the companies involved in sweatshop labor. By
using sweatshops, many corporations reduce their production costs. And millions of people still
live with what they get from sweatshops (Solution). Some people say the sweatshop is ethical

People who believe that sweatshop is ethical argue that it is better to have jobs than to have no
jobs at all. They say that if the countries simply ban the low wage labor, the factories would move
to other countries which permit lower wages and the situation cannot be changed. And even if
people think the conditions of sweatshop labor are unfair and unethical, relative to their other
alternatives, sweatshop labor is a very attractive option for workers in the developing world. Some
insist that workers would only choose a job in a sweatshop when that job is better for them than
any of their other alternatives (Learn

Today, Americans tend to believe the religion and the politics of government have had the biggest impacted on American identity because it has introduced a new system structure nations, cultures, and the Enlightenment s ideas to form the United States. Let s back to the early 1600s, after the Columbus s voyage came to the New World, most all the European nations began to proceed colonized the Native American by force, invading their lands, inter married with the native women, create the Empire on the American continent. Everyone knows that drinking and driving is dangerous, but don t realize it affects the driver, passengers, and people on the streets. The laws should be stricter about underage drinking, there should be more education about the consequences of drinking and driving, and the drinking age should not be lowered. Even though under age drinking is illegal, teenagers are starting to drink at younger ages, which is leading to risky behaviors (Dedel). Some common behaviors known to happen while under the influence include, driving, property damage, rape, and other violent crimes. The major problem for teenagers is driving while they are under the influence. The laws need to be stricter when it comes to under age drinking. Most teenagers do not have the mindset to drink responsibly and can lead to negative effects, that could not only harm them but harm other people too. Sirolimus has a potent inhibitory effect on antigen induced proliferation of T and B lymphocytes, and inhibits antibody production. Sirolimus binds to the intracellular protein, FKBP12. The sirolimus:FKPB12 complex interacts with and blocks the activation of an essential cell cycle kinase named mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin). Although recommendations have been made by organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Nuffield Council on Bioethics, the decision to resuscitate is complex, requiring careful consideration of multiple factors related to each individual case (Powell, et al., 2012) If the infant survives after being resuscitated it may have long term heath issues which can be costly for the family, but some viable fetuses can survive without any negative consequences and live a healthy life. The question asked is Should an extremely premature baby be saved? The Statue of Liberty was built by the French and given to United States in 1886. The French valued the democratic meaning and leaders that had prospered in America such as Abraham Lincoln. This view can also be transferred to the American point of view. When an American sees the Statue of Liberty and the Ellis island monumentthey should remember the history and process that America went through to achieve a fully democratic and equal society. The idea behind it representing a new life for immigrants is the most commonly known yet there has been pivotal moments in history in which it s representation is taken into different ways to fit ones argument. At first the French gave the Statue to the US a symbol of a strong relationship between two democratic nations. Then when slaves were free the Statue of Liberty s broken shackles at the bottom represented their new opportunities when it actually was supposed to be freedom from monarchical governments. When immigrants began arriving through Ellis island it soon became a symbol of new beginnings and Liberty. When immigrants hit a new nerve with Americans, anti immigration believers began using the Statue of Liberty as a way to restrict more migrants as they thought that these new immigrants would tear down the Statue of Liberty. The statues reception adjusted throughout the United States with factors such as geography and political parties. As the Statue was put together during the reconstruction phase after the Civil war, many southerners thought it was to show the that the union had won and prospered. Also it represented how there was no longer slaves in the United States. This all contributed to a mostly negative point of view from the South. These types of organizations engage in illegal activities as a way of generating income, or black money. The word terrorism stems from the word terror , which means to instill fear in. People become terrorists when they take the actions towards instilling fear and terror upon people to prove a certain point or agenda. Some terrorists may have the motivation of proving something political, while some may just inflict terror to keep control over a group, people or country. Then there are terrorists who act under the notion that they are showing support for something, as in religious regions, while others do so to show disdain for something they don t agree with. Government, individual agencies, private agencies, and academic experts have all developed, proposed, designed, and analyzed what constitutes acts of terrorism. In such pure competition the firms have no control over the prices. These companies are often termed as Price Takers . The pricing strategy is no in hands of the company it is determined by market forces. The firms operating in a pure competition manufacture standardized products which do not offer them a chance to differentiate their products on the basis of some unique feature of the product. The firms also do not spend on advertising their products because of the standardized nature of the products the firms manufacture. The demand of the products in pure competition is perfectly elastic. This principle maximizes the productivity by efficiently allocating the resources in the right areas. She describes how the Nazi s ran their government by dehumanizing an individual, group and how they took control over the masses in Germany. In this piece of work, the final chapter Total Domination , also contributes to what it means to be under the rule of a totalitarian government. She goes on about how total domination can be achieved if every person can be reduced to a never changing identity of reactions (Hannah Arendt s Total Domination ). Recently, eastern countries have had revolutions because of totalitarian style governments doing whatever they please. Two recent revolutions from Syria and Libyahave shown that these types of governments will not be tolerated. Even Egypthas had its fair share of trouble as well. Hannah Arendt would have applauded the recent revolutions in Syria and Libya because in Libya it began when a human rights lawyer was arrested, both were done to fight for political change, and in Syria it was also done for a better economy. Arendt s idea of total domination cannot be seen in Hosni Mubarak s rule over Egypt. The human rights lawyer Fethi Tarbel, was arrested and sparked the uproar that caused the call of removal for Muammar Gaddafi. In Libya, the government had taken political prisoners and people were especially unhappy about this one. Fethi Tarbel was the coordinator of one of the few independent organizations in Libya a group of families of victims of the Abu Salim prison massacre, where more than 1,200 political prisoners were killed by security forces in 1996 (thenational.ae). This set people off because Mr. Senussi tried to persuade Mr. Tarbel to give up the cause of the Abu Salim victim s families (thenational.ae). People were not happy because they had suffered a tragedy like that and were receiving help, but then the government comes and wanted to shut it down. The families then gathered outside to protest the injustice that happened to Mr. Tarbel. The actions the people took would have made Arendt proud because they were justified and meant to make change happen. With this, people saw this as an opportunity and said, Benghazi wake up, this ... Pythagoras hypothesized that humans perceive light due to the human eyes ability to emit rays upon the environment and the emittance gives a human his or her sight (Sekuler). Afterward, human intellectuals started making it more concise to present day knowledge of light. This development of light came from two intellectuals named Christian Huygens and Isaac Newton. Newton exclaimed during the 1700s that light was a stream of particles carrying energy but Huygens, Newton s contemporary, thought that light needed this invisible ether in order for these streams to make light travel. Then, a couple hundred years later, modern scientists such as Albert Einstein, Thomas Young, and Augustin Fresnel proved Isaac s and Huygens hypotheses of light (Rossing, 23 24). This is how the basis of light was created. With today s science, light becomes more specifically perceived as a spectrum. The specific name for this spectrum is the electromagnetic spectrum, which contains many types of waves (NASA, Electromagnetic Spectrum). In Figure 2, the spectrum shows a variety of wavelengths with specific wavelengths classified by its length. The range of wavelengths humans can see wavelengths that are around 400 700 nanometers (nm) as colors while all other electromagnetic waves are simply blind to humans.
