Objective To find ways to provide services that take advantage of those talents that have led
me to become a mathematician, with bonus points awarded to those services that
involve numbers systems, geometries, or physics.
Skill Summary Experienced with linear algebra, calculus, quaternions, statistics, Newtonian physics
and other mathematics. Proficient with Linux and multiple computer languages,
particularly Python, PHP, Common Lisp, JavaScript, MySQL, HTML, and XML,
and can delve into lower-level languages, like Forth, C++, Assembler, and Java, as
needed. Can quickly learn new technologies. Can read and research mathematics
and other technical subjects, and explain technical subjects to others, both orally
and in writing. Enjoys giving presentations, and tutoring individuals and small
groups.
Qualifications Strategic Thinking
• Can sort through clutter, to find the best solution to a problem.
• Looks through complexity to find patterns, playing out alternate scenarios to
find the best path to a solution.
• Pointed out implications, for servers and for the user interface, of database and
tree structures of YouWho’s data system.
A Love of Ideas.
• Delighted to discover elegant, simple concepts that describe why things are the
way they are.
• Revel in viewing the world from strangely enlightening angles.
• Hobbies include designing portable computing devices and “paperless” comput-
ing applications, analog robotics research, and contemplating the possibility of
using nonlinear robotics techniques in artificial intelligence.
A Desire to Learn.
• Drawn to the process of learning; energized by the steady and deliberate journey
to competence.
• Enjoys the discovery of new ideas, and how they may relate to interesting prob-
lems.
• Attracted to the simplicity of Lisp and Forth, making it easier to learn and
experiment with new principles.
Establishment of Context.
• Inspired by the history of ideas, using historical perspective to see future impli-
cations of those ideas.
• Understands the importance of tradition, and respects the need to pay homage
to the past while accepting change.
• When learning the AngularJS platform for InsideSales.com, tried to create a
mental picture that built from “first principles” that would put the scattered
tutorials into a logical, almost mathematical, framework.
Contemplation.
• Enjoys time alone for musing, reflection and introspection.
• Takes time to discover connections between diverse ideas.
• Interested in small flying devices, in machining (both manual and computer
controlled), as well as physics and Finite Element Analysis, and how these things
can come together to produce something interesting.
