6. Disadvantages of Chalkboard
• You cannot save the writings/ visual materials
posted on the board.
• With a short height may not be able to use the
chalkboard in a maximum way.

• Chalkboard is not applicable in dark areas and is not
appropriate for students having visual impairments.
• It cannot show motion to discuss a process.
7. Disadvantages of Chalkboard
•It can cause misconception or misunderstanding if it is not
used properly.
Chalkboard work can be messy (dirty).
• Chalkboard is that the information written on the board is
temporary
• We can’t illustrate maps, chemical reactions, mathematical
formulas and complex diagrams on board.
• Chalk produces dust,it causes allergy and asthma
problems.
• Chalk sticks are broken easily , it causes many problem.
8. Overhead Projector
An overhead projector is a very basic but reliable
tool used to display images onto a screen or wall.
Overhead projectors were used during World
War II as a tool to train groups of servicemen.
In the 1950s and '60s, it crossed over into the
classroom as an educational tool, and then into the
business world as a training tool.
It is better medium than chalkboard

• In OHP , file can easy store and transport i.e. share

• Overhead projector is bulky and heavy to
transport.
• OHP is very expensive than chalkboard.
•It requires power supply.
• It need suitable flat surface on which to project its
image.
• It is advice not to move immediately as soon as
lamp is switched off.
• It can cause rainbow effect on LCD .
• It can cause screen door effects.
12. Comparison between chalkboard
and overhead projector
• Chalkboard is ineffective than OHP.
• OHP is easy to understand than chalkboard.
• OHP is very costly but chalkboard is easily get as well as it is
profitabally.
Using OHP , adiences can visualize the presentation
but in chalkboard medium user can mistake when
writing on board.
• OHP is better than Chalkboard.
