Introduction
A cyborg, short for "cybernetic
organism", is a being with both
organic and artificial parts.

Intro….
A person whose physiological
functioning
is
enhanced
by
mechanical or electronic devices.
Ex: A human fitted with a heart
pacemaker
or
an
Insulin
pump(diabetes) considered as cyborg.

History
The term cyborg was coined by Manfred E.
Clynes and Nathan S. Kline in 1960 to refer to their
conception of an enhanced human being who could
survive in extraterrestrial environments.
o In 2010, the Cyborg Foundation became the
world’s first international organization dedicated to
help humans become cyborgs.
o In 1908, jean de la Hire introduced in the novel
L’Homme ui Peut Vivre Dans L’eau ( The Man who
Can Live in the Water).
o
Cyborg
A cyborg is a being with both biological
and artificial parts.


A person whose physiological
functioning is aided by or dependent
upon a mechanical or electronic
device.
A living being whose powers are

Robots
A robot, however, doesn’t necessarily
have to resemble a human. It can be in
any shape.
Classification of cyborgs
Cyborgs are categorized into two type based
on their structural and functional role play.
•

1.

2.

Convenient cyborg-The former Convenient
cyborgs may refer to any external provision
of an exoskeleton for the satisfying the
altered fancy needs of body.
Conditional cyborg- This includes bionic
implants replanting the lost or damaged
body part for the normal living in the present
environment.
Cyborg in society
In medicine
For centuries, man has depended on
technology, understanding human
physiology and medicine to “construct tools
to replace or augment natural physiologic
functions”. Many of these technologies were
created to restore abilities that were lost to
injury, disease, and age.
In Military
Whether soldiers use guns and tanks to
complete missions, or they receive
missions through satellite
communication, they are part of a
cyborg network.
In Sports
Blood doping is the practice of
boosting the number of red blood
cells in the bloodstream in order to
enhance athletic performance.
Some Example of Real Life Human
Cyborgs
1.

Neil Harbisson was born with extreme
colorblindness that meant he could only see in
black-and-white, he is now capable of
experiencing colors.
Harbisson is equipped with a specialized
electronic eye, or eyeborg, which renders
perceived colors as sounds on the musical
scale. In other words, his device allows him to
“hear” color.
2. Kevin Warwick A professor of cybernetics
Warwick has been experimenting with various
electronic implants since 1998, when he
"installed" a microchip in his arm that
allowed him to operate doors, lights, heaters
and other computers remotely as he moved
from room to room.
3. Jens Naumann
After a pair of horrific accidents, Jens Naumann
was struck blind in both eyes Naumann became
the first person in the world to receive an artificial
vision system. His electronic eye is connected
directly to his visual cortex through brain implants.
which translate visual information into another
sense such as sound or touch.
Advantages
Returning Function
• Increased Strength
• Added Functionality
• Possibly longer life span
• Increased Intelligence/ Computational
Power/ Perception
•
Disadvantages
Possible loss of humanity
 Expensive
 Loss of Acceptable Appearance
 Likely to Die in the Creation
Procedures

Future Enhancement
We may have more and more artificial
body parts- arms, legs, hearts, eyes
and so on - till one might end up finally
as a brain in a wholly artificial body.
 Cyborgology will concentrates on the
development of conditional cyborgs.

Conclusion
Humans have limited capabilities, human sense
the world in a restricted way, vision being the best of
the senses. Humans communicate in a very
slow, serial fashion called speech.
But it must get improved for the human beings to
exist in this copetitive world. Obly technology can
make it possible.
And Cyborgology is the future techonology for the
purpose to be get real. cyborgs has some major
defects and wrong sides as like any technologies
evolving now days.
Finally I would like to say that if the future of
intelligent robots, then to protect mankind, we
will must need some TERMINATORs. They all are
CYBORGS.
