2. Pyramids and Sphinx
• I will put a photo of the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx that
were built between 2589 and 2504 B.C. by Egyptian pharaohs
and I will write a small description on the back stating the date
they were built and how they are one of the most attractive
places for tourists.
3.
4. Anwar Al Sadat
• I will include the biography of former president Anwar Al
Sadat, translated in English. It gives a detailed description of
my country during the time of Yum Kippur war; how Egypt’s
relationship with the western countries started to grow, and
how the economic openness was introduced to our system.
6. Naguib Mahfouz
• I will put a copy of each book written by Naguib Mahfouz, it
will also be translated in English. I believe Mahfouz was able
to show the inside stories of Egyptian families in different eras
through his writings and analysis of the social, political and
economical changes of the state.
8. Omar Khayrat
• I will include some musical notes of Omar Khayarat’s music.
Khayart is one of the influential Egyptian musicians. I decided
to put the notes because music have played through history
with the same notes. I do not want to put a CD or any kind of
music medium because it will probably be extinct by the time
they find the time capsule.
10. Conclusion
• I chose to put different types of things in the time capsule to
assure that most of the Egyptian Legacy, in my point of view, is
included. I have chose to include the ancient history of the
Pharaohs, one of our political and economical changing points
in history through the writing of Sadat, cultural and political
information through the literature of Mahfouz, and some
local music that show our creativity and art through Khayrat’s
music.
